“THE “DENIM LOOK” JACKET & SKIRT”

………………The Denim Look jacket and skirt were actually made in a fine WOOL CREPE……..The jacket had all of the style lines of a shaped hour glass denim elongated jacket,  and the button front skirt had “jean” seaming…….Double row GOLD LUREX thread was used to outlined each seam. Using Lurex tread for top stitching was very difficult work, because some times the lurex tread would break in the sewing machine, and the sewer would have to start all over……..The signature “screw and nut” button in two sizes was used to emphasize the the sporty attitude of these pieces. Jasmeen is wearing a simple white tank to complete the outfit and a new “hard wear” earring..

“THE RAIN TRENCH COAT”

………………I really can’t remember when a TRENCH COAT didn’t show up on one or another of my collections…..there was always a demand for them, and since I loved trench coats it was my job to come up with one that looked relevant, and made sense with the rest of the collection…….The cotton denim fabric was treaded with a rainproof clear shiny coating to keep you dry…….A RAIN TRENCH COAT was the answer to my question on what to offer for Resort 1992……It had the gold “signature” hard wear buttons. Jasmeen is wearing it over a navy rayon knit unitard made in Italy………The knit was fabulous!

“THE NAVY WINDBREAKER JACKET”

………….The Navy Crepe zip front “windbreaker”, had an easy nonchalance to it……It had  custom made hard wear….a “nut” zipper pull, and the “screw and nut” buttons were on the cuffed sleeves and back hip tabs. Jasmeen is wearing the jacket over an ivory unitard………….Unitards 30 years ago?….absolutely!…..It’s the type of jacket you could just throw over a dress, jeans, dress pants or a unitard and…..GO!

“THE NOVELTY FABRICS FOR RESORT 1992”

………………..I am a lover of FABRIC….Almost every design I have EVER done in my entire career has started with the fabric! I searched every corner of Europe and went to some pretty remote factories in search of beautiful fabrics…….The two jackets above are prime examples……The Check on Christie, and the End on End fabric on Jasmeen  was from a company named Torello Viera located in Northern Italy in the Biella region….It is more than 100 years old, and is still producing beautiful fabrics today…..At the time it was a very exclusive company and only had a limited amount of customers. It was a relatively small mill in comparison to others, and their production was also limited hence the exclusivity it afforded. Armani was one of their main customers. It was actually a men’s fabric company, but for me, and others, their fabrics were perfect for women who loved a tailored look.

“THE ANNE KLEIN RESORT 1992 NAVY BLAZERS”

………………..The Anne Klein Collection was famous for the tailored blazers, and none more so than the NAVY CREPE BLAZERS……The one on the left on Jasmeen was an elongated Double Breasted version, and the one on Christy was a Single Breasted version……With each collection I also created custom buttons which became a signature touch to each collection….The buttons were made for me by the jewelry company that made the Anne Klein Couture and the Anne Klein 11 jewelry collections…..This particular button was to look like a screw and nut…….Jasmeen is wearing the jacket with a silk side closure blouse over cream trousers, and Christy is wearing a silk button down with gold buttons on the collar, and ivory walking shorts……..Thirty years old????  They could all be worn today.
