Dear Mr. Del Olio, My name is Randy Thompson, My grandmother was your prized sample maker at Ann Klein….I just wanted to let you know shes in her last days……Raphaela (Rae) Bourne….

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Randy,
Is you grandmother’s name Rae Bourne? Did she work for me or for Anne Klein herself? I’m sorry to hear she isn’t doing well, Please send my regards………Louis

  2. Lois Patrick

    Hi Louis,

I am getting so excited to see what awaits us for the Aug show. Just wanted to ask specifically when the riding jacket will be shown and available. Love this style and will order every color shown. Since I am six feet tall, I am curious as to the length of this jacket. Shorter jackets just don’t look right on me. Keep the classics coming. You are wonderful. Thanks.
    Lois

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Lois, The “riding or Equestrian jacket” will be on my Sept. 12th show. I will have two shows that day, I believe it’s a Monday. One from 4:00am to 6:00am and one at 4:00pm. The jacket measures aprox. 27 1/2 to 28 inches long for an XS size. With each larger size grade, it also gets a little longer. Even though you are 6 feet tall, the jacket will take on a different look if your length is in your torso or legs. This is a longer jacket for me so it should be OK if you have already purchased jackets from me. It is a beautifully tailored jacket with all the right details………regards, Louis

  3. Celtie

As always, looking forward to your upcoming shows and a change in the weather so that I can wear all of your fall goodies. I am wondering if the silk cashmere turtleneck will be reordered in red. I LOVE red and see that the whisper knit in red is now available. Just wondering how many red options we will have.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Celti,
The red has not been reordered in the silk/cashmere blend turtleneck. Since it is totally sold out I really don’t understand why? However, since it was not reordered I have done the whisper knit in the same red…..I think it is the PERFECT RED. The only other piece I will have in the “Perfect Red” is the riding jacket with the velvet collar….which is gorgeous……regards, Louis

      1. Celtie

Thanks for the quick reply, Louis. I hate I missed the silk/cashmere turtleneck in red but I will order it in black. One can never have two many black sweaters. I went ahead and ordered the red whisper knit along with the mallard blue one. That will make 9 whisper knit turtlenecks in my collection after I receive the perfectly pink and purple ones I have on wait list. I wear one most every day in the cooler months. They really are the foundation for my wardrobe. In light of this I am having a difficult time deciding on the sweaters I will need from your August 28th show. Would you style the cardigans over the turtlenecks or the v neck sweaters too? Or are they made to go over the tanks? That is probably a stupid question but I want to make sure I plan well as I know they will all be gone in a flash. Although I live in the deep south, I am very cold natured and wear only long sleeves under my jackets, sweaters, etc. So I am wondering if the long sleeve versions will work too. Of course, I could just get them all! LOL.

    2. louisdellolio

      Dear Celtie,
That isn’t a stupid question at all. Sometimes layering long sleeves over long sleeves can be uncomfortable. I recommend layering the tank and the short sleeve mock neck under the cardigan. I am also loving the short sleeve, jewel neck sweater layered under the cardigan and V neck. For instance, all of the new whisper knit cardigans, tanks and mock necks come in the same colors for the “twin sets” look….for lack of a better description. Then I love them mixed up i.e. the olive, aubergine, and mallard tanks and mocks with the black cardis or reversed. I love the black, long sleeve V-neck with the fawn crew neck underneath…..likewise I love the black crew, black pants and the colored v-necks on top i.e. mallard blue over the all black. The possibilities are endless. I will be showing as many of the sweaters and “sneak peeks” as I can so you all can get a better idea of how you can put the items together. They are a wardrobe unto themselves. I hope I have helped and not confused you any further. The problem is there are so many choices…..it’s a good problem…..no? You can make little drawings of the tank, short sleeve mock neck, long sleeve v-neck, short sleeve crew neck, the cardigan and the turtle neck in all the colors…..cut them out like paper dolls and mix and match….that could help you decide………sometimes visual aids help………….just an idea………regards, Louis

      1. Celtie

Great idea. I am a visual person so I may just try that. Thanks for all the ideas. I was afraid the cardigan may not work as well over the turtleneck. I had forgotten the mock neck. That will work great. Now I just have to make my list! Also….I already have September 12th on the calendar. The riding jacket in red has my name on it!

  4. Beano

Hi Louis. Looking forward to the new show and buying, buying, buying which I did not do in Paris and London. What can we expect in the future re sequins? I can understand Q’s reluctance to do pants but your sequin skirt sold out and shouldn’t be a risk to repeat. I think it would be great with the forthcoming? tuxedo jacket.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Beano,
I will have two sequin tops on my Oct. show. One is a bias cowl neck, sleeves crinkle georgette top that is fully lined in the same georgette. The lining is more like an attached tank so, when you bend down and the cowl moves away from the body, as they will do, the lining acts as a modest piece. Of course I am using small sequins [the smaller the sequin the better the quality and more expensive looking IMHO] and it is sequined front and back. Today many are not to cut costs. If I had to do that I would rather not sell it. The colors are black sequins on black and a silvery gunmetal on black. It can be worn under many types of jackets…..for instance it looked fantastic under my Perfectly Pink jacket with the black tulle trim from a few seasons ago, and it looks great under the new red, riding jacket with the faux velvet collar paired with my black velvet pencil skirt. I also tried it under the new black whisper knit cardigan and the slim pant or my black velvet pant. The possibilities are endless. I prefer the top sleeveless because it is very difficult to wear a sequin top with sequined sleeves under jackets and cardigans.
The second piece is a jersey peasant style top with pleats at the front neckline and sequins emb. between the pleats….water falling down. It comes with a self tie belt and has long straight sleeves. Again, the colors are black on black and black with silvery gunmetal sequins. I think they are two terrific tops they serve different purposes………….regards, Louis

  5. muzzimom (sandi)

After buying your wonderful clothes for a year, I see no reason to look elsewhere! Thank you so much for elegant and timeless designs. What color(s) would you wear with your new cassis that’s about to come out? I am having a problem picturing what color it is. Thanks Louis

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sandi,
It is always difficult trying to describe a color. It is a cross between a fuchsia and a magenta. It is not a dark color as some have thought it might be. I can understand why they would since Cassis liquor is a very dark, deep raspberry. The color really works well with the navy jacket I did last year with the “fuchsia” ribbon and pearl trim. I will have the pencil skirt, two sweaters and tops in Cassis and of course the tops can be worn with black, gray, navy, forest or spruce green, espresso brown etc. It is a very pretty color…..I hope this helps….regards, Louis

      1. judith

Dear Louis, I see the jacket with zipper trim is being offered on wait list in khaki. Will there be any other pieces in khaki? Can’t wait until the 28th. Thanks

        1. louisdellolio

Dear Judith, The only other khaki piece is the shirt dress from this past Spring which does look good under the jacket but there aren’t any pants coming. Maybe in the future……regards, Louis

  6. Georgia Meiser

I ordered all three colors of your Animal Print Safari Blzers from QVC. #A214115 I love them. My question is, can I wear these in the fall and winter with the appropriate top/blouse? On the show it talked about how nice they are for summer, and they are, but we have have 100 plus deg. all summer here in Oklahoma. To hot for any kind of a jacket, even inside. I think they would be great for fall and winter. Do you?

    Thank you, Georgia

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Georgia,
Absolutely, you can wear them for fall. Just wear the appropriate layers…..shirts, sweaters, long skirts, boots, scarves etc……regards, Louis

  7. Carol in FL

Hi Louis. I so look forward to your shows! Thank you for designing and making available such wonderful clothes at such reasonable prices. You are so appreciated!

I have A210357, the “fully lined jacquard jacket” in charcoal with the violet lining. I want to purchase one of your tops to go with it, but I’m confused on the naming of the colors–magenta, dark magenta, purple, cassis, aubergine, violet, etc. Which color in what tops (either currently available or available in the future) will be the closest match to the jacket?

Also, will you be showing any new items with sequins in the near future?

Thanks for your response. Wishing you and your family all the best.

    Carol

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Carol,
It will take me some time to check what works best under the jacket…old and new.
As for sequin garments I will have two on my Oct show. One is a peasant type jersey top with a waterfall of small square sequins down the front. The other is a crinkle georgette sleeveless, cowl front top. It has small sequins all over…..FRONT and BACK. The fabric is the same as the boho skirt…..regards, Louis

    2. louisdellolio

      Dear Carol,
The new magenta turtleneck, which I believe can be ordered now works perfectly. It is a new reorder color which will be on my show at the end of Aug……but don’t wait till then or it might be gone……..regards, Louis

      1. Carol in FL

Thanks, Louis for the heads up. The magenta it is and sequins to look forward to. I love your clothes! My wardrobe has never looked so good. “See you” on the 28th of August.

        Carol

      2. LauraL

Thanks I was wondering as well. I love your turtlenecks so I will definitely get the magenta. I also know what you mean – I have my orders in prior to the shows so that I get the items and then watch the show for tips and suggestions.

  8. Sheesh

Hi, Louis. I am so mad at myself for missing out on ordering A213215, the Notch Collar Blazer with Pearl Buttons. I just ordered the pearl necklaces and I must have a jacket with your classic buttons. Will that jacket be coming back either in a Fall version or again in the Spring? Will there be any jacket with the pearl buttons?

On another note, I was very distressed to hear that your Q jewelry line was canceled. I just have to say, and I know that you can’t, that the Q seems to be making all of us (you and you devotees) “pay” for our successful efforts to continue your clothing line…limited orders, no reorders..it’s as if the Q is begrudgingly saying, “OK, you’ll have your Dell”Olio Linea BUT on our terms and one false move and you’re outta here.” It’s obvious some noses got way out of joint. I don’t think they gave your jewelry line a chance. No real shows, no features..I can’t help but feel there are some at the Q who are gleeful over this turn of events…they couldn’t wait to throw the punch.

Louis, I simply adore your clothes and I will keep buying and buying until you stop designing. I am so looking forward to the upcoming Fall shows. Notable among my recent purchases is the Aubergine Leopard Jacket A83571 and the two matching Aubergine tops—the shell and the T-neck. I simply gasped when I opened the box! So chic. You are the best.

Hope you and Jac are enjoying this last month of Summer.

    Sheila aka Sheesh

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sheesh,
Fear not….the pearl button blazer will be coming back early next spring. I’m not exactly sure which month but it is either Jan, Feb or March. I have shows each of those months [first quarter plans are done]. The only color that was reordered was the black but, I will have two new colors….so you will have lots to choose from.
I too was dishearten by their decision to end the jewelry line. I felt we were just getting started and I had such beautiful things planned……
I’m so glad you love the Aubergine. I think it is a gorgeous rich color. The cardigan, tank, short sleeve mock neck and long sleeve V-neck are fabulous. Actually in the whisper knit all the colors in all the styles look fabulous. It’s going to be a tough choice what not to get. They are such great investment pieces and they are true ESSENTIALS……regards, Louis

  9. maywoman

    Louis,

Will the paisley boho skirts be reordered?

    TIA

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi maywoman,
It is too early to know. It usually takes 3 months for me to know if an item is going to get reordered fromthye date of the showing….regards, Louis

  10. Somertime

Louis, which color of “purple” whisper knit turtleneck would look best with the purple/blue ribbon jacket? I thought it easier to ask you than to order the 3 colors and have to send them back. I cannot wait for the black ribbon pearl jacket as I missed out on it the last time.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Somertime,
My suggestion is the magenta. It is the closest color to the ribbon and pearls, but, it’s not perfect. However, I REALLY would prefer you get the new pucker top in Cassis, A218144 and the A09484 Cassis knit pencil skirt….THEY ARE PERFECT with the jacket!!!!!and that is the way I will be showing the new Cassis top. It is a very European fabric with stretch..
…a simple long sleeve, jewel neck top, perfect for under the jacket. The top also comes with a separate cowl piece that you can use to change the look…..a twofer. The knit skirt is the ever popular reorder skirt and the two pieces under that jacket look incredible…..trust me….it’s gorgeous!….regards, Louis

      1. Somertime

Thank you so very much. I, certainly, will follow your reccommendations. I did purchase the skirt that went with the ribbon & pearl jacket, so with your choices I will still have an additional look. I, truly, appreciate it!

      2. MH-MN

Louis, Will the Cassis skirt be offered in the new 26-inch length, or is it the length that you’ve sold previously? Thanks!

        1. louisdellolio

          Dear MH-MN,
No the cassis, steel gray, and mallard blue skirt are reorder colors and will be the same length as the skirts we have already shipped. The new 26 in. skirt wont be shown until Dec and the colors will be black, perfectly pink, and fawn. Hopefully, the skirt will be as well received as the shorter skirt and will become a reorder too……then I will be able to do additional colors. That will depend on sales and returns….regards, Louis

  11. kaufeegurl

It was with great sadness (but no surprise) to hear that your wonderful jewelry line will not be continued. What a loss 🙁 On a brighter note, though, your Fall line sounds tremendous. I wish I could order the riding jackets right now! Are the asymetrical suede jackets being re-ordered in black? I see that the new spruce color is available on waitlist, but the black is still mostly sold out. I *need* a new suede jacket for the fall (although the weather has been so blistering hot with no rain it feels like we will never have a Fall)!

    -kg

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Hello,
Yes, the black suede jacket will be coming back. It will be avail. in Sept.
I know you will love the riding jacket…..regards, Louis

  12. Dawn

    Good Afternoon Louis!

Are you going to bring back the skirt to coordinate with the Pearl Trimmed Jacket? If not, do you have a suggestion for a bottom? I’m limited on your skirts and pants but was considering the shorter length Ponte skirt but don’t know if the fabric would go together.

    TIA

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi Dawn,
I will not have the matching skirt. You should look at E-Bay sometimes the Ladies get lucky there. The skirt I like with the jacket is the black knit skirt,
A09484. I will also have a long gored skirt in the same knit in Sept. I don’t know how tall you are so it’s a little difficult to advise you if the long skirt will work for you but the other is perfect…..it will also come in a 26 inch length in Dec…….regards, Louis

      1. Dawn

        Louis,

I looked at the video and read thru the reviews. I’m 5’8″ and one person who was 5’10” commented that it fell in the middle of her knee caps.

What do you think of the Ponte Knit skirt paired with the PT Jacket?

        Again, Thanks!

  13. Sandi

Thanks for you quick reply, Louis! I’m very happy there are 4 more shows…although you & Jac will need to put your feet up in front of a crackling fire (in Dec.) and enjoy a hot toddy after all your hard work! The suede jacket…perhaps the spruce is the new color as I think it came in 2 color choices black and purple and now there are 3? (spruce on waitlist as they do with the new colors) I don’t have it yet so I am not up on it. We are so very blessed to have direct contact with you. Blessings back to you, Sandi

  14. Louis Dell'Olio

    Dear Sandi,
I will have shows in Aug, Sept, Oct and Dec. I believe the reorder spruce suede jacket is scheduled for Sept and a new one for Oct. The Oct and Dec shows are the biggest with the largest amount of new items to be shown on air. There is a new group of essential knits in acrylic and wool, which is the same yarn as the very popular knit pencil skirt coming in Sept. The clothes are really looking great and the quality is absolutely beautiful…..I hope you agree….regards, Louis

    1. Carol

No November show? What are we supposed to do with our money that month? Buy food or something silly like that?

      crdlb

      1. louisdellolio

No November show…..I would have preferred a Nov show than a late Dec show but, I don’t have a say about that….All I can say is the things in Dec are worth waiting for and the Oct show is quite large so you might want to take a break in Nov and get your Christmas shopping done…LOL, regards, Louis

  15. Deborah aka Diamondscribe

    Louis,
I join in with the others on saying how disappointing it is to hear that QVC is not planning to continue offering your jewelry collection. As someone who works in websites, may I mention that your WordPress blog here would be so easy to add a jewelry tab and sell right here where we are already use to coming for first information on your wonderful designs? Something to consider.

Also, I am so excited about your forthcoming riding jacket. I love that look.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Deborah,
I share your disappointment. I was looking forward to bringing you even more beautiful , quality pieces…..what can I say.
I think you are going to be thrilled with the riding jacket! I received my samples which are the first pieces from production and it exceeded all of my expectations. I hope you are as pleased as I am……regards, Louis

  16. Birdie

    Hi Louis,

Hope you’re having a lovely summer.
I’m looking at your bouclé topper jacket (A62176) and wonder if I should size up to have room for a sweater or if it’s cut to accommodate that? I’m an XS in your tops and blazers.
Any chance we’ll see you do more bouclé?

    Thank you.

    Birdie

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Birdie,
You should stay with your XS size. You will be able to wear a whisper knit turtle neck easily or even layer the whisper knit V-neck over the T when the weather gets even colder.
As far as bringing back the boucle….I am discussing it with my manufacturer….there are many hurdles to jump before I can make any promises.
      …………….regards, Louis

  17. Judi

    Hi Louis-
I’ve been MIA for so long, it feels strange writing. I had a horrid accident 2 yrs. ago, surgery w/ a rod in my thigh and a long recovery. The 1st few months I stopped buying your wonderful clothing, but as I progressed your beautiful clothing, your appearances on Q (especially w/ your shoulder injury!)and your blog has inspired me. When I was unsure if I would walk properly I continued to buy your ponte knits, whisper knits, pebble crepe, etc. I suppose I’m a true shopaholic, because in my darkest days your clothing gave me a goal to reach…which was to walk, go places, do things while wearing your fantastic items.
I’m walking now and just got back from my 1st vacation in 2 years to Bar Harbor, Rockland ME and my beloved NYC. No, I didn’t run around the city, but it was wonderful being there (we saw Book of Morman also and loved it!).
The chain prints and the chino crops w/jacket looked so great in nautical Maine, the bohos are so comfy and fabulous looking. The heat in NY was perfect for the new paisley bohos…I coordinated tank tops and your jewelry (sob!) with them. The pebble crepe material was fabulous for long car rides.
I don’t have a question, I’m eagerly looking forward to the fawn, aubergine and olive items, more whisper knits and the extaordinary jackets you have described.
I hope you had the most wonderful birthday and you, Jac and the girls continue to enjoy the summer.
    Regards-
    Judi

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Judi,
I got a lump in my throat reading your letter……what a horrible thing to go through and I’m so glad to hear you are doing well. I am really happy to hear that my clothes have helped make your life a little happier!….best regards, Louis

      1. Judi

        Hi Louis-
Thank you so much for your kind wishes. I still have work to do, but I’m determined!
I needed to let you know how much your designs, the exquisite tailoring and fabrics mean to me. I’m so glad you haven’t compromised your standards.
I do have a question…..will there be any navy blue pieces in the new collections? Along with olive, I adore navy blue (especially yours). Navy would be amazing with the fawn, aubergine and cassis.
        Regards
        Judi

        1. louisdellolio

Dear Judi. I am not doing navy for fall but, I am doing it in early spring for my Feb. show…a blazer a pant and a skirt …..all in crepe, plus sweaters etc. You are right…. a dark navy will look great with all of the colors you mentioned!
          ……..regards, Louis

  18. Stephanie FB

Thanks for commenting Louis. I just wanted to clarify that when I said E-Bay I meant a designer store like Derek Lam http://dereklam.ebay.com/. Not a typical site like a consigement store. These designers have deals directly with E-Bay. Plus they are close by in case you need to come for a visit to Cali:))

  19. Stephanie FB

Hi Louis it has been awhile. I was just wondering what is going on in fashion. At first I thought it was just QVC then while watching that other shopping Netowrk almost the same thing happend. They have a designer that too has won a Coty award that has to compete with the star of a cancelled reality show. I just don’t get it. I can see a tween wanting something promoted by Hana Montana but not a grown woman wanting a dress just because someone was on a relity TV show. I guess there are some that if they like an item don’t care about labels and thats fair. But who is willing to pay a premium for it. Is my age showing? I’m only in my early 40’s? I’d think that if you were a fan of this type of celeberty that you would buy some of the items they actually wear but not their attemps at designing with no traning. So it seems that we need a teenager to get on a show, release a sex tape then claim they designed your items and them mark them up 300%. Then we would see your items on primetime.

I am so sorry that the Q is cancelling your jewery line. Have you thought about opening a E-Bay boutique. Many designers are in lieu of having a retail store and overhead. You already have a customer base. Please give it a thought for all us over 21 that must buy clothing. Off to pick up the peals before they ar gone!!

    Love ya

    Stephanie

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Stephanie,
This celebrity phenom has been going on for quite a while and keeps growing. First they took over the covers of fashion magazines….when was the last time you saw a REAL model on a cover. Then the stores started with Kathy Lee and the Charlies Angel [can’t remember her name], now every celebrity wants or has a perfume or clothing or jewelry or skin care line etc. etc. Some people will just buy anything. There is absolutely no integrity behind most of these lines. Do they really know anything about draping, fitting, cutting, and fabric…..every detail that goes into creating a product…..I don’t think so. It takes years to know how to design a garment and good designers are constantly learning new techniques every day. Real designers have taken a back seat to these newbees…..however, I’ve seen them come and go because eventually their celebrity dies and their lines die with them. Now I understand J-Lo is designing a clothing line to be sold in Kolhs [SP?}….The only question is who’s next?….As long as people keep watching these horrible, insipid and many times offensive reality shows and keep buying their products….they will continue to be around and they will continue to be promoted.
Selling my jewelry on e-bay isn’t an option for me or my manufacturer…..regards, Louis

  20. Marianne

    Dear Louis,
I am sorry to hear that your jewelry line is being discontinued on QVC but I am thrilled your clothing line is still available. I purchase a lot of your clothing and I am crazy about every piece. I am looking forward to your fall line and I am hoping that the short sleeve mock neck sweater will be back in new colors. I will buy everyone. Thanks for great quality.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Marianne,
I am disappointed that I won’t be bring any new jewelry also.
The A87423, mock neck will be returning in Black, White, Hot Pink and the new Perfectly Pink. This month I will also be bring you a new mock neck. It is A217630 and is in my Whisper Knit….the rayon/nylon blend. It is also a fabulous short sleeve mock and great for layering. The colors will be Black, Olive, Aubergine and Mallard Blue [a beautiful bright Teal]. I know you will love them…….regards, Louis

  21. Carol

    Dear Louis,

Does the new magenta Whisper knit turtleneck look good with the magenta boucle tuxedo jacket? I have this lovely jacket in black and love it with the matching black skirt, tons of pearls and an ivory silk blouse. I was thinking of doing the magenta with with the turtleneck, black skinny jeans, and riding boots. What’s your opinion of that combo? I love your boucle and for So Cal it’s outwear weight.

    crdlb

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Carol,
I checked my samples and they are very different colors. The magenta tuxedo is a redder magenta and the magenta turtleneck is bluer. The new T-neck matches the Roma Ponte knit stand collar jacket. I love your idea it sounds like a great way to wear a tuxedo casual…….I think with the black jeans a black T-neck would work just as well…….regards, Louis

      1. Carol

Thanks for checking for me. I have the ponte knit jacket and the turtleneck, so I can definitely wear those together–the charcoal jacket with magenta lining, too.

        crdlb

  22. Somertime

Louis: I have to make a comment……..a good design is timeless! A talented designer is timeless! The picture of Jac in a “vintage” design of yours says it all! A perfect statement as to your talent and vision… The picture of Jac in the black & white AK strapless is a testement to you and your talent! God bless you both.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Somertime,
Thank you so much for the kind words. I designed the print also. I love designing textiles as well as clothes. Actually I love designing everything from head to toe…….regards, Louis

  23. Dawn

Hi Louis! Happy B’lated B’day! I’m glad to hear that you’ve been having a great week with Jac & the “Girls”.

I was very disappointed in hearing that the Q does not want to continue carrying your jewelry and picked up the 70″+ Pearl necklace yesterday. As you know there is alot of buzz and hopefully TPTB will rethink the decision after enough complaints hit the forums & phones ring off the hook at Q corp.

I have a quick question… Can you give us a headsup on the colors that you will be offering in the “Faux Suede” pieces. I apologize if this has been posted prior and I missed it.

    TIA!

Dear Dawn,I do not have the A#s yet but I can tell you what’s coming. For my Oct. show I will have a long gored skirt in Taupe, Steel Gray, Purple and Black. Also in Oct. I will have a zip front jacket piped in faux metallic leather. The colors will be Black with Gunmetal and Dark Sage with Bronze. In Dec. I will have a shirt similar to the “Robyn” shirt in Espresso, Dk. Violet and Avocado. I will also have a long faux wrap skirt in the same colors…all in a beautiful quality of faux suede….regards, Louis

      1. Dawn

        Good Morning Louis!

I’m excited about the steel gray gored skirt to pair with the suede violet/gray jacket that I bought last year. The other items also sound like winners and I look forward to seeing them as well.

Thank you for the quick response and can’t wait for the show at the end of this month. The black and pearl jacket will be mine!

  24. Inna

    Dear Louis!!
I’m so sorry and dissapointed that QVC decided to discontinue the Linea line of jewelry. I’ve immediately ordered the curb link necklace and bracelet, so I can have those wonderful pieces of jewelry in my collection. I just wish that you can set up your own website (I know it’s not easy), so we can buy items directly from you.
    Best regards, Inna.

  25. louisdellolio

Dear Wanda, Sorry for your trouble with the skirt. The triangle is a great idea….a horizontal stitch works just a s well.
    ……………best regards, Louis

  26. Soldout

    Hi Louis:

Does Jac have her own blog that is connected to the Linea line?

    Thank you,

    Soldout

    1. louisdellolio

No, She has her own face book page, but she does look at my blog every so often.
      ………..regards, Louis

  27. Dariann

    Dear Louis,

I purchased both paisley bohos and adore them! Can you recommend some of your new tops and jackets that I can wear with them? I need to get my shopping list ready for your August shows!

Happy belated birthday – my husband is also a Leo,
    Dariann

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Dariann,
There are lots of things coming in the next few months that will look great with your paisley Bohos. The August “essential” sweaters in the Whisper knit all work with the skirts. There is a tank, cardigan, short sleeve mock neck and V-neck long sleeve sweater….all in black, aubergine and olive that will work. The A3825, crew neck with short sleeves also works well. There will be a charmuse stand collar long sleeve blouse, A217977 that comes in olive, black and ivory….I think the olive and black look especially great with the skirt….. if you want throw a cardigan or jacket over it and you have a great look, but it’s not necessary. In Sept there will be a terrific quilted cotton and nylon , snap front jacket that really looks incredible with the paisley skirts. It has a really casual chic look. The jacket will be avail in olive, black and bronze. It can be used as a blazer or a light weight outer wear jacket……layer some colored sweaters to pick up the colors in the skirt and WOW!. Another jacket I like with the skirt is the riding jacket. For some it will be combination that seems odd but, I that’s exactly what I love about it….it’s not so coordinated. There is also a faux shantung [one of my signature fabrics] coming in Aug. that also looks perfect with the olive paisley boho. It is somewhat safari/military with a stand collar, 4 patch pockets and flaps and a self tie belt. The whole jacket is double top stitched and really looks wonderful with the olive Boho. The jacket comes in Olive and Sapphire. There are more sweaters [the Cassis sweaters in Sept.] and jackets [an incredible chenille boyfriend blazer], that also will be coming in Oct. There will be lots to work with the skirts…..suede too!….regards, Louis

      1. blinddogs

Louis, the faux shantung coming in august: is this the same fabric as the fabulous jacket, shell and pants you did a few years ago, in champagne and in an aquamarine color? I loved those sets and have them in both colors, but unfortunately only the jacket now fits me due to weight gain.

Of course, the olive shantung will be in my cart but I’m wondering if there will be shantung pants to match?–Blinddogs

        1. louisdellolio

          Dear Nancy,
Yes the faux shantung is the same fabric and the jacket looks great. The fabric in the olive color looks wonderful. My manufacturer doesn’t want to make pants in this fabric because it doesn’t have stretch and the fit would be difficult for different body types. However the new poly/rayon/span pants, both slim leg and straight leg, do come in olive which looks very good with the jacket. I also love the olive jacket with a black sweater and the black boho plus the olive paisley boho…..it will look good with lots of things and lots of colors under it……..regards, Louis

      2. Dariann

        Dear Louis,

Thanks for all your wonderful suggestions on what new fall fashions you will be showing that I can wear with your paisley bohos. I have 2 of your linen sleeveless tops with an organdy insert at the bottom that I have been wearing with the skirts – one top is in black that I pair with the black boho and the other top is a chocolate brown which I wear with the olive paisley. I think that I purchased these tops about 3 or 4 years ago and they are two of my all-time favorites to wear in summer and the warm days of early fall.

I am very disappointed that QVC will not be offering your new jewelry. I was really looking forward to purchasing your new necklaces. I own 11 pieces of your jewelry and know firsthand how beautiful and well-made it is.

Love to you and Jac from the Napa Valley,
        Dariann

        1. louisdellolio

          Dear Dariann,
Those are some of Jac’s favorite tops too. She has the black and white. Sorry I could bring you the new jewelry especially when the samples came out so beautiful…..regards, Louis

  28. LauraL

    Hi Louis,

I love your clothing line and have many pieces of your clothing.

I have a sizing question on A210358 Asymetrical Zip Suede Jacket. In your clothing line sometimes I take a small and sometimes a medium and am wondering about the fit of the jacket since I have a curvy body type. My bust is 36, waist 30, hips 42. I am only 5′ in height and am short waisted. Based on the actual dimensions of the garment I would think the small but depending on the fit not sure if the medium would be better.

Thanks in advance for your recommendation.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Laura,
I am really not sure how to advise you. Have you read the comments on the Linea site from the women who have purchased it? I would suggest you go to the Linea Forum and ask this question. Women who are aprox. the same height and measurements will be able to guide you better than I would. I believe it runs pretty true to size and I think you would take the small but, it’s better to ask the women who have already purchased and own it……regards, Louis

    2. gardensla

My measurements are similar to yours and I ordered a small–the fit was excellent. Unless you plan to layer this jacket over a very heavy sweater I would NOT order up.

      1. LauraL

Thank you. I don’t plan to layer with heavy sweaters more likely the whisper knit turtleneck so I will go with the small. I was concerned the medium would be overwhelming.

  29. Rhoda

    Hi Louis,
An update. I received today the replacements for the magenta and olive turtlenecks. Not only do I like the dye lot of this olive better (a little more green- goes better with my other olive pieces), but the sleeves on both are longer-perfect, the body is longer on both, and the body is not skimpy. The neck seam where the turtleneck meets the body is perfect. I am glad I replaced them, but I hope others do not become discouraged about ordering the turtleneck. I also hope the new colors that are waitlisted or not available yet (red, pink, deep mallard, purple) do not have similar issues. Hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather- a little hot, but beautiful. As always, Rhoda

    1. louisdellolio

I am very happy it worked out. I spoke to my manufacturer and she is as puzzled as I am. These sweaters are fully fashioned which means the shape and length of the sweater is programed into the actual knitting machine. So each piece coming off the machine has to be the same. I can only think once the sweater is finished something must have happened in the washing and finishing. That is the only explanation I can come up with. It’s impossible for the pieces to come off the machine at different lengths. Again, I am happy you are pleased……regards, Louis

  30. enjay

    Hi Louis,

A quick question – I own the short sleeve ribbed shell in a warm golden dark tan color that’s no longer available – it looks terrific with the olive paisley boho. I’m debating getting the fawn, but wondered if the new color was too similar to the older one. Can you shed some light? Thanks! (These tops are one of my favorites to wear under jackets.)

And a riding jacket, velvet collar, long 4-button cut? These are a few of my favorite things!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Enjay,
If I remember correctly the sweater you are speaking of is actually a different style. Check the A#s and let me know. The fawn is like no other color that I have done is is definitely worth having. The fact that it matches the new pants and the riding jacket is a BIG plus. I think the sweater you own is a deeper honey color…..or else I’m not sure which one you have. I will know from the A number………….regards, Louis

      1. enjay

You’re right Louis, it’s A8386 and it’s exactly the color of honey – so great with the olive paisley. I’ll definitely grab the fawn (olive too) – these are among my favorite go-to pieces to wear under jackets.

  31. Carol

Any news on the jewelry? Are we going to get to try out the colored pearls or Byzantine pieces? Have I mentioned that I want those chain hoops? LOL

    Fingers crossed!
    crdlb

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Carol,
I’m sorry I took so long in answering your question. QVC has made the decision not to purchase the color pearls or the Byzantine group and has decided to discontinue the Linea line of jewelry. I am very proud of the jewelry that I was able to bring to you and have to thank the manufacturer for meeting all of my expectations. I can only suggest if there was some piece of jewelry that you have been thinking about….now would be the time to purchase it. Thank you for your support and for being as passionate about the jewelry as I am………….
      ………………..sincerely, Louis

      1. Carol

I’ve already bought everything you brought, except for the black bracelet as it is too big for me. That’s why I am so passionate about your jewelry! It’s an incredible bargain for the quality. It’s QVC’s fault it didn’t sell better. They gave it minimal airtime, there were no videos online and they have the WORST photos that give not clue as to the quality or the scale of the pieces.

Sorry they’ve made this decision. They clearly have made many decisions your customers don’t agree with, but we’re all glad to get anything you can bring us.

        Thanks for letting us know.

        crdlb

      2. Claudia (chprsp)

Am horrified at QVC’s poor decision. Just ordered the black and gold necklace and your most recent bracelet. From now on I will not be purchasing jewelry at QVC.

      3. Nancy

What bad news this is for everyone, Louis.
I can’t imagine that the Q has really paid attention to the reviews and comments.
        I’m just flabbergasted and shocked.
You are so right to be proud of this jewelry!

      4. Sharon Santourian-Holman

I tried my first piece the multi chain link necklace, I adore it, receive many compliments and it really dresses up anything I wear. Now to hear this?!! You never got proper air time for your jewelry to begin with and now cancelled. We know you care about quality and it shows in the pieces we have. Huge mistake …we are speaking out.

      5. Celia AKA Tristan

What??? I cannot believe this. I have all the pieces you have brought us- in fact two of the black bead necklace. QVC will be getting a letter from me….

  32. Marcia

    Hi Louis
Enjoying my new bohos and cropped pants. I finally ordered A210357:Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Fully Lined Jacquard Jacket in the bronze/black and wanted to know what new colors in the whisper knit would look good with this jacket. Also, if the fawn pants would work with this jacket. Thanks for all of your answres.
    Marcia

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Marcia,
I think black works the best. If you really want an accent color underneath….I would go with the Aubergine and black bottoms. The Fawn is too light a color IMO as a bottom…..Black really does set off the jacket best…….regards, Louis

      1. Marcia

Will save the fawn to wear with some of the new sweaters and some of the old – like the essentials in red and black.I heard that the fawn is a vey classic camel color- that is so hard to find. I am really looking forward to the next show and this jacket. Thanks so much!
        Marcia

        1. louisdellolio

Marcia, there is also an incredible “Riding Jacket”, coming in Fawn, same fabric and color as the pant. It is a longer jacket, has a 4 button front and a black velvet top collar. It also has 4 working buttons on the sleeve with a deep facing for turning back. I have received my samples and they came out fantastic. I said “they” because it also comes in an amazing riding red with the black collar.
I think the fawn is a beautiful color that you never see in the stores.
          ………………regards, Louis

          1. Marcia

It is so hard to wait! The jacket sounds wonderful- I thought you would have something special to pair with the new pants. I love both of the color choices- aounds like another instant classic.
Waiting for my new pearlnecklace (with the cones) that the LL forum brought to my attention. It looks beautiful- love how it lies whhen wrapped around the nneck several times.I love pearls with fawn!

  33. Rhoda

Hi Louis, I had already told you about the sizing issue, and other stains found on the new whisperknit turtleneck colors for this season. Please read the thread on the Q entitled Received First Whisperknits. There are several ladies who are claiming that the turtlenecks are shorter in body and sleeve length and are fitting skimpier. Some are also saying it about the new short sleeve knits, as well. I don’t think they are all that way, but who can tell. The ladies want to cancel their waitlists, if you read that thread. It is listed under Linea. I am waiting for my exchanges to arrive for the two olive and magenta ones that I have to return. I will compare the sizing against the ones I am returning. The turtlenecks are my favorite. I don’t want the ladies to become discouraged. I wanted to keep you informed. Thanks- Rhoda

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Rhoda,
I have immediately forwarded your post to my manufacturer. Let’s hope it isn’t a wide spread problem. Of course all the first samples I received came in perfect and they are from production so maybe it’s an isolated issue…thanks for keeping me up to date…..Louis

  34. Barbara in Virginia

Hi, Louis! There are some questions on the Q Linea Forum about dry cleaning the Roma Ponte Knit garments. Last Fall when you introduced them, you indicated that your manufacturer had to you to NOT dry clean, as the heat of the iron would shrink them. You were going to send out one piece to be dry cleaned but I don’t think we heard back from you. Any further guidance on dry cleaning the Roma Ponte? Thanks so much! Barbara

  35. nikki

    Hello Lous,
I am enjoying wearing my paisley skirts and tops in black and olive. Love them. I wore the navy mosiac print skirt recently ( of course i have the v neck tank and cardigan in navy) however I was wondering if you have any whisper knit items coming that will coordinate/match it. What would you recommend?
    Thankyou

    1. louisdellolio

I don’t recall any whisper knits that are coming this fall in navy. The aubergine tank and cardigan wold look good with the navy…….next spring there are some whisper knits planned…….regards, Louis

  36. Carol B

Today was the first time I wore the chain print shirt. I love the “lawn” material–so lightweight, breathable, and overall comfortable. I would like additional items in this fabric in the future.

    1. louisdellolio

Hi Carol….I’m working on it….I love the fabric too. I don’t think many women realize how comfortable it is to wear….especially with the hot humid weather we have been having. There aren’t many items avail anywhere in this fabric.
      ………………regards, Louis

  37. Rhoda

Dear Louis, I don’t want to be a downer, but… I have at least 15, if not more, of the turtlenecks, and love them all. I ordered the new colors of magenta, and olive in my normal size medium, and received them today. The magenta fit, but where the sewing connects the turtleneck to the body of the garment, there is pulling. Something was sewn incorrectly there. Secondly, the olive fit more like a small, fitted and sleeves too short. Another of the Linea ladies received the olive today, as well. There were two big grease stains on the back. I wanted to inform you, so that the turtlenecks, or other garments don’t become a sizing issue, or other factory problems. I reordered the same two turtlenecks. I love my turtlenecks, and don’t want there to be unnecessary returns because of factory issues. I love my Linea, and I know you do too. As always- Rhoda

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi Rhoda,
I hope you are returning the sweaters you are unhappy with for replacements at QVC’s expense. I have forwarded your comments to my manufacturer. Thanks for keeping me informed…..regards, Louis

      1. Rhoda

Hi Louis, The Q is paying for the shipping, at its request. Thank you for your response. I am more concerned that the turtlenecks, or any other Linea garment don’t become an issue and are not reordered. I love, love, love the Linea turtlenecks. It is already sad that the ponte knits are not returning, another favorite of mine. I have been ordering whatever is left of it in my size. I didn’t want to put a damper on your continued birthday celebration. Always, Rhoda

  38. Inna

Hi, Louis! I hope you had a wonderful birthday!! I was wondering if the item A210350 Roma Ponte Regular Slim Pants will be reordered in black (I’m so upset that I missed that show and they were all sold out ). Thank you in advance!

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Inna, the Roma Ponte fabric, which was exclusive to me, has been discontinued. The fabric mill refuses to make it, so we had to discontinue all styles in that fabric. What ever is left to sell in the Roma Ponte in ALL styles will be the last. I too, was very disappointed as it was the best quality Ponte fabric I found…….I’m always searching but the prices are all going through the roof and the qualities aren’t even as good……regards, Louis

  39. Sandi

Hi Louis, I was wondering the same thing, what happened to all the Ask Louis, now I know! Came back to wish you a wonderful Birthday year, you do deserve all the best.

Also, since I can ‘hog away’ (lol) to let you know that I’ve received all of my “forest green” items and am more than thrilled. They are just gorgeous and I never would have thought of the ponte knit jacket and long skirt. Thank you for the suggestions! I accidentaly flipped back the collar on the jacket and actually prefer this look (on me), the top two buttons left open and pulled back to create a lapel. The option of buttoning it all up in the wind is perfect. I got the last skirt in large (there is an XS left) which I will gladly have altered to fit my medium to small size. The roma ponte knit fabric even feels expensive…sad to see this go. I have the grey pants ordered to go with the pewter waitlisted “waist whittler” sweater and will glady have those altered as well, since there is only XL left. The forest green 3/4 sleeve sweater and the forest green velvet pants spoke to me when I tried them on….begging for Louis’s pearls..(LOL)..

…so 2 strands are on their way. (EZPay too!) The strand with the gold styalized bars, and the strand with the aurora beads. I had noticed the 3-strand gold balls were on the essential sweater model but my budget was begging for mercy. Your jewelry has been given such rave reviews that I know the pearls will be treasured by me, a “real” pearl girl, your quality speaks for itself. A very big bow, applause, and Thank You Louis. Hello to Jac and the girls. Very Sincerely, Sandi

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sandi,
I am really very happy that you purchased the forest green pieces. I think that jacket is totally underestimated. Sometimes women see a double breasted jacket and automatically pass. If they are done correctly they can look good on almost anyone. You are absolutely correct in realizing how versatile the jacket is. It looks great all buttoned up, and with the lapels unbuttoned and turned back to create lapels. It also looks terrific worn open and relaxed. Do you own any of my gold jewelry?…..the chain necklace or the gold ball necklace? I love forest green and gold. I know you are going to love the pearls….the quality is amazing and belongs in high end stores….I hope you agree……best regards, Louis

  40. blinddogs

Louis, what happened to the many ‘ask Louis’ items on this thread? I was wondering if you had responded to my suggestion regarding the pitbulls next door. There are supposed to be over 1,800 comments on the “Ask Louis’ thread but now it is only showing about a dozen comments. Maybe you should talk to your web guru!–Blinddogs

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi Nancy,
Between the power shortage we had due to the HEAT, Jac wisking me away for my birthday celebrations and my Face Book guru screwing things up, some of my “ask Louis” questions must be lost.
Now, I have read your recommendations and they were timely!!… because my neighbor has finished putting up both his electric fence and the wooden fence. There is an area down by the water where my girls can still enter his property, where he said he would extend the fence…..well, he isn’t going to do it, so I must. He is relying on the electric fence to keep his very aggressive dogs on his property. I agree with you that the electric fence is not enough. The County knows about his one dog because he badly hurt another dog…had to go to the ER. The dog also killed a dog, but that was a friend of this man and a report may not have been made. Unfortunately, he is the sole supporter of the shelter that has mainly pit bulls. I am trying to be a friendly neighbor, but I must put my girls 1st. Up goes the chain fence. The police know the problem..we spoke to the one in charge of canines. Hopefully an incident can be avoided! We have mace to take on our walks..Jac hates all this, but we will do whatever it takes to keep our girls safe.I think we are very disappointed that all this had been worked out and he changed his mind.
I will ask where 1,800 Ask Louis’s went when my “please fix this computer mess” man comes. Thank for all the information….it is much appreciated!
      ……best regards, Louis

      1. blinddogs

So sorry that the neighbor has relented on a common sense solution to the problem. Some more suggestions: you are entitled to a copy of any formal complaints against this man and his dogs and records of any fines imposed, etc. Just cite the state’s public records law and ask the officer you spoke with. It sounds like animal control in your area is handled by police, with another entity actually sheltering the impounded animals.

It is important for you to have your own documentation of the dogs’ violations history, since fines and enforcement actions usually escalate with repeat violations.

If you want to disclose the town or county you are dealing with, I could research the ordinances for you. (I did this all the time when I was president of our local shelter that also did animal control. There is a national animal law website that provides texts of local laws on animals.) Let me know if I can do anything to help.– Blinddogs

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

          Hi Blinddogs,
As you have said, the common sense solution was stopped by my neighbor. Foolish, considering the expense he has already gone through putting up the fence….extending it a bit further would have cost very little for him. Jac and I realize that an unhappy incident will have to occur to involve the police. I will absolutely get the complaint history. I assume that is at the Police station. I would so much appreciate if you could research the ordinances…at your own convenience. My neighbor was living in Stamford, Ct..in Fairfield County, Ct. when the attacks took place. I believe only the “non fatal” one was recorded, not the fatal one. The dogs name is “Cyrus” and he just bit the repair man twice! News travels fast in our little compound. Much thanks, as always…Louis

          1. blinddogs

Louis, I will indeed research the city and county ordinances BUT you should get information/reports and– perhaps via your attorney– statements from the repairman who was bitten. (Also, the local/county health dept. is required by law to compile animal bite reports.) This is CLEARLY a matter of what is considered a “dangerous dog” under most local laws, with muzzling requirements and other sanctions.

It is important to compile the full history of the vicious dog’s actions. Often, they get away with it because the offenses occur across town/county lines and people don’t know to look to other animal control agencies for violation histories.–Blinddogs

      2. Claudia (chprsp)

So glad to hear you’re putting chainlink fencing up. I wouldn’t feel safe either with only electric fencing. You would think he would take extra precautions given at least one of the dogs history.

If you’re worried about digging by the fence area, years ago when we lived out of town we used old railroad ties against the fence to discourage tunneling out or in.

Another suggestion is walking the dogs away from the neighborhood or taking them to a dog park. Besides the “girls” I’d worry about your and Jac’s safety.

BTW I love the olive and black crop pants from your last show. So comfortable. In a few weeks I’ll be packing for a 1st Marine Division reunion in Arlington, VA. Of course it will be Linea. Only problem- what to pick.

  41. NJ lady

    No
i mean the jacket for fall 3/4 length sleeve that was in sage & black – zipper trim on front & back & sleeve
( you have wait listed in khaki only)

    1. louisdellolio

I know they do not plan on reordering the black but I will bring it up again at my next meeting. If they did it would have to come back exactly as the original with out any changes…….regards, Louis

      1. NJ lady

that would be fine – thanx for trying

  42. NJ lady

Happy Birthday. We saw War Horse on saturday. It was fantastic.
We ate at Shun Lee which was very good & across the street. Diane Keaton was in the audience.

Can you try to get QVC to reorder the black zipper jacket with silver or gun metal trim?????
    thanks,
I am so upset I missed that jacket.

    1. louisdellolio

Glad to hear you like the show!
Do you mean the black jacket from the last show with the gunmetal buttons and zippers?…..regards, Louis

  43. Chris/Jazzmom

    Good afternoon Louis,
I’ve a question about the new waitlisted ‘khaki’ brushed cotton jacket with zipper trim (A213327)– will this be the same ‘chino’ color as the cargo pants with gold hardware or a lighter tan color? Also will there be a coordinating skirt (A213329) in the ‘khaki’ color to be shown as being ordered too? Thanks!
    Regards,
    Chris

    1. louisdellolio

It is the same color as the khaki dress and safari jacket and will have antique brass zippers and hardware instead of bright gold……regards, Louis

  44. Carmille

Hi Louis. I am a relatively new customer – have discovered you in the last two years but just counted the number of jackets I have of yours and I have 25! You are the best QVC has to offer. I just cannot say enough about the quality and design of your clothing. I love the Chanel inspired looks. I am a pink lady! I love anything in pink and saw that you are bringing a jacket on August in the Perfectly Pink similar to the former jacket that came in a plum and black with ribbon and pearl trim? I am so excited about this. I want both the black and pink already! I wanted to know if you will bring back the jacket with the pearl buttons you offered this spring in the pink, black and ivory? I missed out on the pink, went on waitlist but never was able to recieve it. I did get the black and ivory but want the pink desparately. Is there any hope for this in the future? Please Please!!!!

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Carmille, That jacket is definitely being reordered. I am pretty sure the pink will be reordered since it sold out from day one. I will also be offering it in to new colors which are already posted on the Linea site. I believe they will be avail in either Jan. or Feb. The Perfectly Pink and Black jackets with the pearl and ribbon emb are gorgeous! I am sure they will last a minute so I suggest you order early……best regards, Louis

      1. Rhoda

        Dear Louis,
I hope you continue to celebrate your birthday the rest of the year. I just checked and there are no colors listed for the jacket with the pearl buttons. It just lists the jacket as all sold out at the linea site. I have it in the ivory, and was curious what new colors were being offered.

        1. louisdellolio

          Dear Rhoda,
I don’t mean to be evasive but, the new colors have not been confirmed yet so, I would rather not say. I saw where fuchsia was named the new color for the boho and that was incorrect which only causes confusion. When I know for sure I will let you know…..regards, Louis

          1. Rhoda

I understand. I will wait patiently. I misunderstood. I thought you had mentioned that the new colors were listed on the Linea site of the Q. I ordered the new turtleneck colors already. However, the red is still not listed, and I need that one. It is amazing to be thinking about the turtlenecks in 100 degree heat, but a Linea turtleneck is a must have- no matter what. Enjoy the cooler weather in Ct.-LOL

            1. louisdellolio

Hi Rhoda….I don’t want you to think you’re crazy….you didn’t misunderstand me….I did say they were listed and they were…..and now they aren’t??? So I just want to be 100% sure the colors I suggested are the ones being offered…..Today there is a pleasant breeze coming off the water…it’s the first time the windows have been open in a week!…..all the best, Louis

    2. Carmille

Fantastic Louis! You have made my day! That jacket is spectacular (as all of them are!) but the shade of pastel pink looked so beautiful, I just must have it. Now my next big splurge is to get your pearl necklaces and also the gold chain necklace to go with! Looking forward to your August shows! Wishing you and Jac all the best!

      1. louisdellolio

I know you will love the pink jacket as it is a very special shade of pink. Sometimes pink can be overly sweet, but this is a very flattering sophisticated color. The pearls necklaces were designed to go with the jacket and will work with many things you already own. The chain necklace and bracelet, for me, are the perfect classic yet bold pieces that can be worn with anything and will always be in……regards, Louis

I hope all your birthday wishes come true. voodoo

  46. SpaGal

    Happy Birthday!

  47. Sonia

Another request here for full length grey pants. I got the Fawn short sleeve shell and want to wear it with a same tone grey, like a medium grey shade. Pants that pick up from the pewter buttons on the black Brushed Twill Blazer (A216528) would be sharp. BTW, that jacket is wonderful, got both the black and the olive.

Also, I can’t wear short sleeves, so I would love to see elbow length sleeves. The mock neck looks like it has a good length sleeve, but that high neck is strictly winter wear here in south central Texas, not Spring.

  48. Carol

Happy Birthday–and many happy returns of the day.

    sincerely–crdlb

  49. Sonia

Happiest of Happy Birthdays to Louis. May your next year bring you good fortune and no more accidents! Thank you for enhancing my life with flattering fashions and the joy of color. You are just SUPER!

  50. gardensla

Someone posted that they found, in their closet still in its packaging a tote bag (A18294) in white with a crest. She thought it dated back to 2007. Is there any chance, going forward, that we could see some accessories like this?

    1. louisdellolio

I don’t think so. There are no accessories in my QVC future that I can see. That was a fun tote and the crest was beautifully embroidered…….is it beastly hot in LA? I live on the water in CT. and there is no breeze….brutal!….regards, Louis

      1. gardensla

Hah-I don’t think we have hit 80 yet. I have never seen a July like this however I’m sure we’ll get our comeuppance in September and October when the Santa Ana winds start to blow!

  51. Debbie M

Happy Happy Birthday Louis. I hope you have a wonderful day!

  52. Chris/Jazzmom

Happy Birthday Louis!! Looks to be another gorgeous day here. Enjoy your special day.
    Regards, Chris

  53. Classicms

Louis: I just wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday. I hope that the coming year is filled with the love and company of family and friends. Regards, MM

  54. Somertime

Louis: Happy Birthday, Leo!!!!!! Perfect sign for you! I have your pearl & ribbon jacket in the purple/blue color (black was sold out-so I am delighted you will have one in August show, would you suggest which of the whisper knit turtlenecks would be the best color for the purple/blue jacket. The mock neck as well. There are 2 “purples” and am not sure which would be the best colorway. Thank you so much!

  55. Sandi

LOL! Louis I got a chuckle out of ‘hog away’! I do have another question…I’ve had the Sand ruffle tank and jacket on waitlist since 4/06, and the Q just cancelled the tank this morning. When I called, they said the item is not discontinued, so check back in about 6 months. ?!) They have not cancelled the sand jacket …yet. I will go into major stalking mode of course, but wonder if you know if these will be re-ordered, and in which colors. I missed out on these but have been able to stalk and snap the georgeous frosted lilac in both jacket and tank. I LOVE that it’s unlined and thank you for that. If I may slip in another unlined jacket question…have you considered doing a Linea style jeans jacket? I can only imagine the class that you would bring to this basic! Many thanks for all you do~ Sandi.

  56. Beano

Dear Louis I adore the two new brushed jackets. The buttons and zipper placements are beautiful.and the fit as always is perfect. I also am really happy with the olive paisley boho skirt and shirt. Didn’t think I’d wear them together but I love the look. I have an old green DKNY wrap sweater that’s terrific over this outfit and lots of chunky colored jewelry that I never wear that will be perfect with this. I’m trying to get used to the olive jacket over the paisley. I don’t love the look yet. I ordered the short sleeeved sweater in fawn (have the olive) and am looking forward to all the long pants in August. And the pearl trimmed jacket and the tuxedo jacket. Now I’m off to Paris with a suitcase filled with Linea.

  57. NJ lady

    Hi Louis,
    Love your clothes.
I bought A199272 with contrast piping in grey/violet & really happy with it.
Looking for A213327 blazer with zipper trim in black in long sleeves. Thought you said you were making for fall. I just saw that they have Khaki on wait list available (3/4 sleeve) It was never offered in khaki – is that new? Are you making in Khaki?
    Any information would be appreciated.

Also, you mentioned a sneak peek jacket (august show) you were bringing in black & beige ribbons – could you be more details of what it would look like)
    thank you,

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear NJ lady,
I am very happy you like the gray and violet jacket, it is very special. The A213327, blazer is coming in Khaki next year. The minute the buyers place the reorder color it gets processed into the system and gets posted on the Linea site…..even thought it won’t be avail for 6 months and more. The new blazer with the long sleeve was presented on my last show. It does not have the same kind of zipper trim but, it has zipper pockets and gunmetal buttons.
For a good look at what the new pearl and ribbon emb. jacket will look like look at A94749. It is almost the same jacket…..except….the new one has long sleeves and there is no emb at the hem of the sleeve or the hem of the jacket [for easier alteration]. The colors will be black with black and ivory ribbon and ivory pearls and Perfectly Pink with black and pink ribbon and pink pearls………….regards, Louis

      1. Sheesh

Louis, that A94749 Ribbon & Pearl jacket is my ultra favorite Linea jacket. I have it, and the matching skirt, in both colorways. I think Coco rolled over in her grave when that jacket hit the airwaves at under $80. Can’t wait to see the new one!

    2. NJ lady

      Dear Louis,
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I like the openness of the notch collars for me.
Does that mean that you will be bringing back the A2113327 in 6 months in the black? I love the zipper treatment you did on that jacket – front, back, etc.
Thank you, you are a genius at designs.
Hope the pit bulls don’t bother you and your adorable dogs.

    3. louisdellolio

Unfortunately they have decided to only reorder the Sage and the new color which will be Khaki……I don’t know why but, they are not reordering Black. This jacket will be avail again in either Feb or March….not sure which month.
      …………best regards, Louis

      1. NJ lady

        Boo Hoo
Maybe you can get them to order with gunmetal & black
Please try – it would look fantastic

  58. Sandi

Louis the additional forest green pieces will be perfect for me. I don’t have any of the ponte knit so am very happy that you mentioned this quality fabric. I ordered the coat and almost the last forest green long skirt (skirt sold out now except for an xs) also picked up the ponte knit grey pants~there is only one size left. I do not mind having quality clothing altered. Like Enjay, I take very good care of my things, so these are investment pieces. No enabling required LOL.

I enjoyed the exchange between you and Enjay! Fascinating. The item numbers given do show the pictures over at the Q (says sold out of course) it was fun to type them in and look. Both so beautiful! That town and country coat is a wow. OK I’m hogging your blog, my quota is up LOL so I will read with interest and sit on my hands for awhile. Your kind generosity as always is greatly appreciated.

    1. louisdellolio

Sandi, I want to know what you think of the pieces when you get them!Don’t ever worry about hogging my blog….hog away!

  59. enjay

Louis, I had to let you know how nuts I am about the paisley skirts. I got both colors and can’t believe how terrific they look with all sorts and patterns of jackets and sweaters – even an old tweed riding jacket I’ve had since college! And the olive paisley looks insanely good with A83959 – that wonderful “Town and Country” olivey boucle jacket trimmed in leather that’s one of my Linea “greatest hits.”

And while I was raiding my fall/winter wardrobe for companion pieces to try, I saw A0042 – do you remember that one? It’s a great little silk/angora sweater with scattered pearls and iridescent sequins scattered around the yoke. One of my favorites to wear with slim jeans and high black heels. Hold old is that sweater?! So old it’s starting to look like old money (LOL) – especially when it’s thrown on with the black paisley skirt, under the new black jacket.

It all made me realize how many of my favorite “old” clothes are yours – and wouldn’t it be great to bring back a reincarnation of that fab little black sweater?!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Enjay,
I am so please you are happy with the paisley skirts! WOW you have quite a collection of Linea. I totally forgot about the olive boucle jacket with the brown leather trim…..that must look amazing!I have to honestly say I don’t remember the silk/angora sweater!!!! Silk/Angora…..I can only imagine how much that yarn is today! You really have to use a good angora quality yarn or else they shed like crazy and the price of silk has gone thru the roof. Take good care of it because, more than likely you won’t be seeing anything like it any time soon. If you ever get the chance to take a pic of it and post it here I would love to refresh my memory. Do you remember if it came in a blush color too? It’s got to be 7 years old!?????Enjoy your wonderful combinations….What’s old is new again!….best regards, Louis

      1. enjay

I’m not sure if it came in another color – but when I checked my original post, I noticed that I got the item number wrong. The sweater is A00442. It’s 70% silk, 16% nylon and 12% angora. It’s fantastic, doesn’t shed, dry-cleans like a dream and just seems to get better ever year. The best thing about it is that the sequins and pearls look like they were just thrown on – it give this terrific casual feel to a very luxurious sweater. I do treasure it! I’ll try to remember to take a picture when I get home from work today.

I’ve been buying Linea for years. In fact, if your first show was at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island – and I kinda think that was you -I was there with my husband and children at the same time. My kids were very young and I was a professional woman in NYC. When I got back home, I hunted you down and have been scooping up your clothes ever since. Linea is my secret weapon because I can look stylish, classy and well-dressed and still put money in the college fund! (And, let’s face it – clothes are such fun!)

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yep….that was me at the Atlantis! It’s a small world!! That was my first show for QVC….quite an initiation! I have been thinking about the sweater and had to look it up in my files…..2003! and it came in black, champagne and blush! That was and is a beautiful sweater. You must take very good care of your things….8 years and it still looks good, that’s saying a lot for angora!…..best regards, Louis

    2. blinddogs

Thanks for reminding me of the moss green boucle jacket w/ brown leather trim. I had it in the original brown and came back and got it in the moss when it went on ‘clearance’ price. I also have both skirts. It will nice to mix it up with the new paisley skirt in olive.

Louis, I love the new paisley skirt but it runs large and fits more like the mosaic print boho rather than the original boho. I have to order up a size in the original boho and wear regular size in the mosaic. I went up a size but unfortunately, the ‘regular’ size is now sold out in the paisley– so I’ll have lots of room for dessert in the new paisley!

  60. Sandi

I see now that was Forest Green, not Spruce, re the velvet pants. I re-watched the velvet pants video and noticed you mentioned a forest green sweater, so I’ve ordered that now as well. (A210367 essential) By the way it is really worth re-visiting the videos, because you pack so much information for us into each show. Hope you and Jac take a well-deserved vacation this summer, I don’t think anyone works harder than you two. Best to you both, Sandi

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sandi,
I know you are going to love the forest green sweater with the velvet pant….the colors are perfect together. For me, that is what dressy casual is all about. I think it is something you can wear to work as well as a special occasion. I don’t want to be an enabler but, you should also look at the A210366, my Roma Ponte knit jacket in the forest green and the A210368, my Roma Ponte knit long straight skirt in the forest green. This is a gorgeous fabric that I can no longer use because of the price increase. I think it is the best Ponte knit in the market. The jacket looks great with the sweater and velvet pant and ponte skirt and the sweater of course matches it all…I realize at your height their may need to be some altering [sleeve length and skirt length but since these are pieces that are never coming back I think it is worth it…..just a thought…..check out the videos and the ladies comments……The purple velvet is discontinued……..best regards, Louis

  61. Sandi

Dear Louis, You are such a gem to answer our questions! (thank you in advance) Thinking ahead, I recently ordered your gorgeous spruce green velvet pants, and waitlisted the black velvet pants. I’m very short (5’0″) so I already knew I would be taking these in to be shortened. The green pants are the most amazing, washable velvet. Will your purple velvet pants be coming back? I have the older ‘ribbon and stones’ v-neck sweater A93339 in purple, and I see on the sweater Video that you had styled this with the purple velvet pants. Yum, yum. Hi to Jac and the girls.

  62. Sheesh

Hi, Louis. It’s been a while since we’ve “chatted.” Hope you and Jac are well and enjoying the summer. A quick question for you. I recently got the navy v-neck cardigan and matching v-neck tank (A214008 and A214007). I want to pick up a hydrangea print skirt to go with (A213268)—which one would work better—the butter or the navy? Thanks for taking the time to give me your opinion.

I was away on business and completely missed the July 13 shows—how the heck did that happen? It’s not like me to EVER miss a Linea show—gosh, I’m asleep on the REAL job! Luckily, and happily, picked up a few of the pieces left in my size (got the Leopard Jacket (A83571) in the Aubergine, the short sleeved crew neck shell in both Aubergine and in Black, the brushed crop pants in Black (A216529) and the Paisley top in Black (A216530). I am on wait-list for the–the Paisley Print skirt in Black (A216531). Some pieces are sold out and I’ll check back every day to see if something pops back into inventory, like the brushed cotton Blazer in Black (A216528)….that was a tough one to miss….and thanks for deeply lining the cuff so that those of us with short arms can wear the jacket. Fingers crossed that I get it!

I am looking forward to the new shows and picking up the new petite pants. I’ve finally learned my “Linea Lesson”….that is, to pick up duplicate pants—put one away for later OR have one pair altered for wearing with flats and the other with heels. Your prices are so reasonable, it just makes perfect sense.

All the best to you and Jac…..Sheesh!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sheesh,
It’s nice to hear from you! Jac and I are doing great….in general all is well. Every once in a while something pops up to create a little drama but…..that’s life! I don’t know if you have read on a previous blog but, we have two new neighbors…….two ferocious PIT BULLS! Let’s just say my three little female Scotties and the two bulls are never going to have their paths cross…..did I say a “little” drama!
I looked at my samples and even though both the butter and the navy Hydrangea print skirts look good. The butter is more of a sharp contrast and the navy is more monochromatic. It really is a matter of personal preference. The navy looks great with the cardigan and tank but it also looks great with the navy cardigan and a white tank. The navy over the butter is more of a contrast and more dramatic. If you want to be more conservative…..go for the navy skirt…I hope you like your new goodies!……best regards, Louis

      1. Sheesh

Oh my gosh, Louis, I know exactly how you are feeling about the PIT BULLS bulls next door. I can’t imagine the stress of it and never being able to let your guard down for a moment, constant worry. Are these permanent neighbors? This will sound bizarre, but I had a dream last night, before I read this response from you this morning, about being attacked by a pit bull on the street in my neighborhood at my vacation home in Arizona. I woke up startled and shaking. I don’t know of any pit bulls there, so wondered why I was having this dream…then I saw your response. Louis, I will be very worried about you and Jac and the girls. What can be done? Have you explored all your options? Are the neighbors conforming to the local ordinances re leashes, fencing, barking? Some towns have outlawed pit bulls? Are you sure they can have them in your town? I am an attorney in New York and Connecticut, but practice corporate law. I urge you to discuss your concerns with a local attorney.

Thanks for the advice on the skirts. Now that I know the navy sweater works with the navy skirt, I think I’ll go for that one. I also have your green tee that I think works with that print under the navy sweater and could pop on a white belt to anchor it.

Louis, I wish you had a PO Box where we could send you some pictures. You’d crack up if you could see our closets…just a sea of Linea…as it should be!

Thinking about you, Jac and the girls and wishing you all the best…Sheesh

        1. louisdellolio

He is a new neighbor. My previous neighbor passed away and his wife decided to sell. The new neighbor is a single older man. He has put up electrical fences and wooden fences but it is still a worry. He has lived in CT and did not live too far from me. There has been a incident with one of the dogs but another dog came onto their property. I do not believe there is any law against owning them in CT. There is a dog pound near by that has many pit bulls avail. It doesn’t seem many people are interested.
I like the idea of the green T too!….regards, Louis

          1. blinddogs

Louis, check with the local Animal Control agency– it could be local city or county government agency, or a contract between the govt. and a humane society. They can easily tell you what the regs are and if there are complaints on file against this owner and his dogs at their old address or the new residence.
Many local dog ordinances have ‘strike’ provisions– if there are multiple offenses, the penalties escalate with additional violations, up to removal of the dog/dogs from the premises by animal control.
Especially with pitbulls, electronic fences are inadequate for full control. If another dog entered that property and was attacked, it seems they need wood or chain fencing. What if a child had accidentally crossed onto the lawn?
After years with a local SPCA, I know that not all pitbulls are bad and I don’t support “breed bans.” But I know the reality of the damage pits can do without proper controls.– Blinddogs

  63. gardensla

Just a quick note to say that the new paisley is all that and a bag of chips. We are all in full on gush mode on the Q forum.

  64. Sharon Santourian-Holman

Wooo hooo, now that gem of a necklace will be mine!! It will look perfect with my other pieces.:) Very happy. Thank you so much.

  65. Susan

Louis, I also suffer from the nickel allergy, but took a chance on your pieces and had great luck of course – no issues. This is a HUGE selling point for those of us who suffer this fate. I’m willing to bet you have customers out there that will not take a chance on costume jewelry of any kind because of this. I’ll point it out on the boards on the Q.

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Susan, that would be great. I never realized it was such an issue these days. I assumed all jewelry was allergy free.

      1. Carol

Nickel free is really scarce these days–used to be more prevalent. I would highly recommend that you see if that info can be added to the descriptions of your pieces on the website, and be sure to mention it next August during your shows……like you need any help with “marketing.” I see so many posts on the jewelry forum at QVC complaining about not enough nickel free choices.
