Hello Louis,
Thank you for another fall/winter season of beautiful head to toe Linea dressing.
Just a hint to Santa for Jac’s list that Talbot’s has a nice variety of Scotty dog accessories. Darling stocking stuffers.
Happiest of Holidays to you, Jac, your little darlings and all your nearest and dearest as well as my fellow Linea Ladies.
Thanks for the tip!
I also lament the seamless leggings being discontinued. I have 6 black, 3 navy and two each of all the other colors. It was surprising to see the quilted jacket also go on clearance. It appears that adding more than 1 or 2 new colors a year is the kiss of death for that item. Of course, I did purchase all 5 colors of the trench, so maybe that’s not true. As for the socks, they are fantastic but I’d proceed cautiously on colors. I’d like to see them stocked by QVC for a long time. More color choices doesn’t seem to relate to more sales.
Happy Thanksgiving to All!
I bought a couple of pairs of the leggings today, raspberry and hunter green. Tried to buy the trouser socks but they appeared to be sold out. All fashion is 5 easy pays today 11/19. Go take advantage of it.
Dear Amanda….the good news is they are sold out, the bad news…I’m sorry you missed them, but I would think they will be reordered.
Dear Louis, I hope they do reorder them but am happy they were a big success for you. Happy Thanksgiving!
LOL!!! Designista, I was a bit shocked at your collection of leggings … until I counted and realized I had 4 black, 5 navy, and 2 each of dk gray, heather grey, raspberry, and hunter green. I find the leggings comfortable for “home” wear — I may get the courage to wear my leggings with boots and matching swing WK tops. My only mistake was wearing my navy blue leggings under a pair of light gray sweats — the pilling on the leggings is atrocious so they’ve become part of what I wear during cold nights.
Alas I’m on waitlist for the trouser socks.
I am rather baffled on why several new items went to clearance so quickly — I appreciate the savings but it is still puzzling.
So no LDO until end of January? Say it ain’t so!
Thank you for a wonderful season of lovely, wearable, affordable, elegant-with-a-twist clothes and accessories. I can’t wait for Christmas so I can wear my head-to-toe red ensemble, and in the meantime, tossing on one of my new ponchos for a bit of winter style in the southland.
Hope you and Jac have the best of Thanksgivings. I expect you’ll still be dropping us a sneak peek here and there over the next two months!
Dear Kate, I expect “they” will be asking me to do some hits on The Morning Q or what ever else they cook up for me.. The only “new” piecemeal, which is actually a reorder, is the faux Shetland V- neck sweater. It was the last piece to be delivered and did not make the show though it has been posted. It won’t surprise me if they ask me to come to the Q to see it, and other inventory pieces…..hopefully at greatly reduced prices!
That would be good…both more appearances and maybe some sales, too!
I am completely gobsmacked by the discontinuing of the body leggings. I’m grabbing extras of every color I will need in future now, but, Louis; can you give us any insight into why QVC made this decision on such a seemingly ideal and well-received item, because I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks this is crazy.
I was told slow selling????
Is that the same for trouser socks?
NO, NO!! I love the trouser socks. I also love the tights, but those trouser socks are fabulous.
Louis,I love your trouser socks. I love the leggings also and have bought around 12 pair, and 5 sets of the socks. I have spent about $2500 on your cloths over two years and so love all your talent and well made garments. I usually just read this sight to keep up on what is coming, but felt I needed to let you know something that has become common practice for my orders. I have only received maybe 3 or 4 items out of 100’s that weren’t a return. They come very wrinkled, with shredded tissue paper and some have pet hair and perfume or other odors. I would not put this on the qvc sight due to the possibility it may impact sales. It has nothing to do with your quality or styles, but does speak volumes about their handling and inspections of returns. I have kept them all, but if others don’t know the treasures that you bring to us, they may not order again if this is being done across the board. You make me look forward to dressing for the day and I feel so good in your clothes. Thank you again for everything you bring to us. 1 question, is there any way we will get a reorder of your multi wire cuff and trapeze necklace. I got 2 of the trapeze but would love the other colors. Thanks again.
Dear Katie this is distressing to hear. I wish I had the power to do something about this problem, but it is not my company and I can’t change the way they do business. I will pass your message to my buyers, but this is not their department either, so all they can do is pass it along too….as for the trapeze necklace and wire cuff….they should be reordered because they did incredibly well, but since there is no extra money for jewelry reorderes I can either bring back the old pieces or introduce new. Unfortunately, there is no budget for both. There should be, but again, it’s not my company and I can’t tell them they have to increase the budget to accommodate the reorders and the new.
Thank you so much for addressing my questions. They both sold so fast, like in 1 day, that I am sure they would do well. I am wishing you and Jac a lovely Thanksgiving.
When I buy something from QVC I try it on immediately and carefully in front of a full length mirror and if it is not what I expected I carefully refold it and return it the same day. I can’t imagine wearing it out and about and then returning it. But QVC encourages this. Some things about QVC drives me a little nuts. Sometimes the reviews do too. So rude and insulting when they do not have to be. Can’t they just politely say “It just did not fit me right” instead of making it a personal insult? My rant of the day!
Dear Amanda, I would like to say I’m surprised by some people’s behavior, but unfortunately I am not. With the way things are in the world bad behavior is more the norm. As a society we are going down hill. I am sure there are those who would disagree with me, but as a child of the 50s, adults and children would never behave the way people do today. I think QVC’s policy of no need to return until after Christmas is an invitation to those who have no scruples to wear the garments for a few months and then return them, smells and all. It is quite disgusting, but it will undoubtly happen.
Your trouser socks are perfection…just bought a second set on waitlist. What brilliant socks. Just wore black solid tonight. I left a review calling them Sox as homage to Boston Red… but said I would love set of black, brown navy and a creamy white to wear with your sand slacks…remember those…so fabulous. These socks feel so silky…used to wear loads of gabardine slacks, so paid big bucks for socks…yours are very best!
Thanks Louis
If her tights are selling well, that could be a reason, but who knows. Even though mine are now on clearance…selling is still slow, so there is no incentive to buy more.
I did my part Louis, I have ordered 10 pair of the socks. They are fantastic!!
Quilted-front jacket has gone to clearance. Great opportunity to pick one up for layering under the trench coat as you showed us yesterday with the green.
Hi Louis, I have returned from my meeting which went very well. Could the success be attributed to the outfit I wore – black hammered button coat, black super ponte slim pants, grey WK swing sweater and green howlite slide necklace?!
I watched your show, enjoyed all your insights about your lovely designs and ordered the WK skirt in grey.
Your the best!
Dear Louis,
Kudos on your show today, even though I missed seeing beautiful Jac. I thought the rapport between you and the hostess was wonderful and needless to say, your fashions were amazing.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Jac and the girls,
Dariann
Thank you Dariann……Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
FYI – Q has a ‘Special’ for the New WK Sweater A285546 – “Order one of this item at the current price and get $4.00 off each additional quantity”.
If anyone has already purchased more than one – call Q’s Customer Service – and ask them to Credit the price difference.
Hello, Louis. I saw your post regarding the sequin top, and it made me recall a letter that I sent to QVC about a year or so ago. I asked them to consider asking you to design some dressier or special occasion items for your customers. I even suggested selecting at least one a season, and I assured them that your loyal followers would be happy to pay more. I miss your suits and dressy fashions. The ones I own are treasured. I still purchase everything I can, because they are classic and beautifully designed and constructed. I’m truly not trying to stir the waters, but perhaps if your loyal ladies politely asked QVC to consider a few dressy items, maybe they would oblige us. Otherwise, we can continue to hope! Thank you for all that you do for us!
Maybe the Linea ladies can express this in the Suggestion Box on the forums. It’s worth a try I think.
Even though I love and have alot of your clothing line, I was disappointed when I did not get an answer to MY important(to me) question.
Just saying.
Dear Shari….I am sorry if I did not respond. I never purposely not answer a question. If you don’t get an answer from me please just ask again. Somehow I missed it.
I received the Super Ponte slim leg pant in black and they really are the perfect pant. I have gone back for more in the espresso. I submitted a glowing review and hope QVC will post it before your show at 1:00. (I see someone has posted a disappointed review and I’d like to cancel that out).
I am disappointed that I have a meeting with a client the same time as your show but I’ve set up to record you and hope some products are left by the time I can watch the show.
All the best,
Ruth
Dear Ruth, thank you for the review! I too saw the other review, and frankly was surprised. The pants I received, which come from the production, were beautiful. Obviously, she does not own the slim pant or the Super Ponte boot cut pant, becaus they all have the same waist band and slanted dart, which gives the hip a better and smoother shaping……I guess you can’t please everyone…LOL
Louis, I received my ponte pants this week and the first think I noticed when I put them on was the wonderful shaping with the darts in back and the triangle piece and an angle across the front hip. They fit smoothly and really flatter. It is so hard to find pants with good shaping at the top in the “challenge” areas. It seems that most manufacturers want to just sew side seams, the stride seam, and turn over a casing at the waist to string elastic. This may not be a problem if one is more like a mannequin in shape, but for most gals with some curve, your attention to those shaping details are a blessing. Thank you.
LOVE ALL of Louis’ clothes!! I missed the crazy low priced sale of the “hammered buttons tailored Jackets,” but was fortunate enough to purchase all three tailored, hammered buttons jackets in White, Scarlet & Black by checking back constantly. Now I’m trying to find the matching skirt in all three colors & any Scarlet, Black & White matching tops or sweaters to wear under jacket. Does anyone know the item #’s for matching skirts & any matching colors in tops?
Thank you in advance,
Rosemary
Dear Rosemary, I don’t have the style numbers, but if you go to my Linea site and to the Whisper Knit section you will easily find the red skirt and the two sweaters, the swing TN and the new jewel neck long sleeve sweater both featured in red. All three pieces will be on my 1:00 pm show today
Louis, thank you! I ordered three or four WK skirts, the jewel neck sweater in three colors to match the beautiful three hammered buttons jackets that I have. And I’m trying two of the swing TN sweaters. Not a real fan of the uneven hem, but I’ll have to wait until they arrive. Scheduled for the 23rd, but I’m so close that I usually receive items before EDD. At any rate before Thanksgiving & Thanksgiving Weekend!! It’s dangerous for me to watch your programs! Will any of your regular turtlenecks, red, BLK, white & grey be returning? I have many from previous years, but would like to reorder in colors I have & order new colors.
Thank you again & hope you & Jac have a wonderful Holiday Season!
Dear Rosemary, I’m glad you liked the pieces. Yes, the TN will be back in winter white, and scarlet red next year.
Thank you for the update on TN in winter & white & Scarlet!
Louis, QVC posted the new colors for A259108 faux Shetland wool L/S sweater. I ordered my 4. Maybe they will have this in the show afterall!
As of tonight they aren’scripted in the show…..but….I will be sneak peeking them with the new straight leg pant which is the last Item in the show. I will show all the colors except navy. The way I’m showing them is how I planned on showing them except I was showing them with different bottoms
As I was ordering them this afternoon, I was thinking, “How nice these will look with the ponte pants that arrived yesterday.” Thank you so much for going to bat for petite options in the pants. I tried them on yesterday and the fit was perfection.
Please leave your review on the pants….
Louis, I hope that QVC will bring back the long WK skirt. Us northern girls would love more coverage and I just think it’s an elegant length anyway. Black, gray and navy would be good starters. Also, I’m sorry that your fleece leggings aren’t going to make an appearance this year and I will look for them next year. Regular leggings are too cold for me in the winter! Thanks for all your lovely clothes. I love that I can shop online and get a beautiful, coordinated wardrobe. All the best.
Dear Karen…it is coming back, but only in two colors….black and ? I gave them a list of 5 colors that everyone posted so we will see/ Hopefully this time around if it sells out they will bring it back in more colors. The problem was the petrol blue and the golden color sold very slowly, and they are still avail, so it was a fight to bring it back in more neutral colors. If it doesn’t sell out this time, that will be it for a long WK skirt. I don’t think I can convince them again.
Louis. Wishing your new long open front whisper knit topper with pockets was available now. I believe you said probably February. Is it still slated to appear in February?
Dear Yoko….Feb is the date. There will also be a matching WK ENR tank tunic, and the two pieces will come in Black, Scarlet Red and Ivory. The ivory will look great with navy too.
Thank you Louis for even more to daydream about–long WK ENR tunic to go with with the long open front cardigan. Oh my, all the colors are lovely. Perhaps I will have to have 6 new pieces that can mix & match for 9 looks. Happy thoughts now.
I’m so happy to hear that there will be a WK ENR tank coming….my very favorite clothing item!
P.S. I didn’t read closely….I was hoping for a classic tank, not a tunic.
Could you give us the item number. I love to think about what is coming next!! Thank you
When it gets closer to Feb. I will give the #. I don’t even have my samples yet.
Hello Louis,
will you be posting sneak peek for the whisper knit pants that you mentioned will be presented on nov 17?
WOuld love to plan it out especially the colors and see your styling
thank you
Dear Nikki…..you will have a long time to plan as they are for Fall 2017 in Sept. There probably will only be two colors and black being one of them. The other will probably be the Heather Charcoal Grey
Louis, at last it is cool enough in Florida to wear my new v-neck swing sweater. I have on the black today and it is such a great career-wear option. I have it over black jeggings. I am decked in Linea jewelry. I’ve stacked the black and matte silver trapeze cuffs. I have on the silver lariat. The only accessories that aren’t Linea are my earrings and my suede Dolce Vita ankle boots. I’ve had complements throughout the morning. I love my Linea jewelry so much that I would like to make a couple suggestions so greedy me can have some more. I know the lariat is on sale. I bought a couple more this week because I like to double up on them. Which brings me to my first suggestion – the lariat with different shaped drops. Where the ones we have now were marquis-shaped, maybe the buyers would consider sphere-shaped, teardrop, or rectangle-shaped drops (still the open shape defined by the wire like the current ones). Those of us who love these lariats could collect the different shapes to mix them while wearing them. It would even be greater if the drops attached were on small jump rings and could be switched across chain colors. Right now I pair the chocolate and gunmetal – as well as the traditional silver and gold.
The other request would be more items (especially a necklace)in the glorious frosty white matte silver that you offered in the trapeze cuff. Maybe that could be a new color in the Trapeze necklace when it gets reordered (since it sold out so well)? I have been without fashion jewelry for decades because my skin turns green wearing most of it. Yours is one of the few lines I can wear! Thanks, Deb.
Dear Diamondscribe….all fabulous ideas…..did you get the new stone drop pendant that slides up and down the chain? It really is fabulous.
The tigerseye. I need to wait on the others because I plan to go heavy on the Shetland pullovers. I’ve tried to narrow down colors on my list, but I’m not doing well at that. They are all beauties. That sweater is so great for Florida Winters. Your faux Shetland sweaters are glorious camouflage – they look warm but are so light and cushy, and can still be comfortably cool (if not layered).
Good morning Louis,
a note of thanks for helping me pack for a recent cruise. Your “fold and roll” technique worked perfectly for all my Linea items which were just about the only items I packed. I brought along an “heirloom” A199791 Blue Crepe V-Neck Jumpsuit, the color of which was matched by the turquoise waters of the South Pacific. Also, the Palm Frond jewels were the perfect accompaniment in the setting.
Thank you again, hi to Jac and see you Thursday.
Elaine
Dear Elaine……glad my “tips” worked out. As a long time vacation and business traveler I’ve had to learn how to pack or spend loys of money having everything pressed. Unfortunately Jac is visiting her sister in Boston and will not be with me. This is a make up show for the one that was canceled, and Jac already had these plans made.
I hate packing so your tips were really very helpful.
I’m looking forward to your show and I have some catching up to do as I could not get Wifi at sea.
Will certainly miss Jac…everyone wants to be Jac! I’m sure she’ll have a good time visiting with her sister and I plan to do some shopping for my sister for Christmas.
All the best, Elaine
Did you mention a ponte jacket and/or new suiting due shortly? Loving all my new clothes, especially v neck wk in all colors and the scarlet and back coat. I also bought another trench in black. I justified it by sizing up so I could wear over heavier sweaters. I love all of your clothes, but these coats look and feel like I spent many hundreds more. I had the sleeves shortened on the trench.
Dear Louis,
My “WK Long-Sleeve Sweater” (A285546) just arrived, and I am a very happy lady. The first to show up is the Scarlet Red. I love that it is flattering, has a beefy (but not too beefy) knit and matches my WK skirt perfectly. Just wonderful. I hope you have more colors for us in the future (along with the return of the cherished V-neck sweater). Thanks so much for this perfect beauty.
Mine have an EDD of 11/21 but showed up today! QVC…Sigh.
Anyway, they’re just exactly as I hoped they’d be. Body skimming but not tight, perfect-scale to the neckline, fantastic with the matching skirt and/or poncho, with jeans and the matching coat, etc. while I could use more arm and body length (always an issue for me, not reflective of the design), I could not be more happy. Yes, back for the brown.
Kate, my Espresso arrived today, and I love it. Just wish I could wear black and white well. They are two color options that do not flatter me. Here I’m loving this sweater but can wear well only two out of four colors offered. Frustrating. I understand your glee over this sweater; it is beautifully done.
Goldie, can’t you wear the black with a white shirt under it or don’t you like to layer like that???
That is not my sort of layering, Louis. My layering is a cardigan over another sweater or a cardigan over a great blouse (rarely, though). After trying unsuccessfully in high school to pull off the crew neck sweater over a blouse or shirt, I realized that wasn’t my best look. I’m all about softer, angular lines. Some of us were not meant for the knee socks and kilt look — ever. I may have loved the look on others but not myself. Believe me, it wasn’t easy bucking that look during my day. Loving plaids from a little girl up, I moved on to paisleys as I matured. Had to to match my physical self.
Dear Louis= I looove these tops and I really, really want more, will you bring back the Linea by Louis Dell’Olio V-neck Tunic with Paillette Detail ?? I love wearing them, they are a showstopper !!!!
Love the new double zipper sweater! – will there be a new swing wk sweater?
Yes…..there will be a swing tank tunic
Sounds pretty, any plans for an elegant cowel neck swing wk sweater.?
Funny you should ask…….were you in my studio?? LOL I have sketched a cowl neck swing, but it hasn’t been chosen yet. Eventually I think they will, but when I don’t know.
That would be a perfect addition!!!! – hope they chose it soon!! Thanks again for the beautiful fashion and jewelry!!
Will the new whisper knit slacks be in the every needle stitch? I hope so as they will be beefier and hang better. I also love they will be in the slim leg version.
Dear Judy….the new pant will be in a med. weight Milano stitch, not the ENR which is much stretchier. We tried it in the weight of the Milano knit WK,skirt, but it was too heavy, so we went with the med weight which is heavier then the ENR.
Hello, Mr. Dell’Olio. I have been a Linea Lady since December of 2013, I think, thanks to the plethora of advice and info from the Linea Ladies. I love your designs so much! What a blessing to have access to your clothes. My husband bought me a long, black, hooded raincoat, Anne Klein, many years ago on our honeymoon. I like to think it was your design! I STILL wear it, and LOVE it. I wanted to tell you that the upcoming crew neck, Whisper Knit long-sleeved sweaters are coming to me…four of them! I like to think of them as the ultimate go to, and I will mostly be using them as really, really special long-sleeved Tees, to go with any and everything. THANK YOU for your designs, and your genius. We ladies are the winners here! All the best to you and your lovely lady, Jac.
Dear Leegalee….welcome! it is so nice to hear from you. I am very gratified that you love the new “classic” Whisper Knit [WK] Every Needle Rib [ENR] sweater enough to buy all 4 colors. For me, these are the best pieces a woman could invest her money in, and I know you will get years of enjoyment wearing them…….Please, now that you have made you “appearance” here on my web page don’t be a stranger!
Louis
A267875, The double breasted Trench coat. Do you think it would be warm enough for through Michigan winters with a sweater underneath?
I hate wearing heavy coats, but I do need something to wear from car to building. Not planning on wearing it to walk for extended times outside.
What do ya’think?
Hi Shari….after your message I scrolled down to see where your question was…I founded it, and it’s an easy question to answer. From house to car….with a sweater under it, yes I think you will be fine. Of course that depends on your tolerance to cold! I seldom need more than a field jacket unless it goes below freezing. I’m sure those who already own it and have worn it all last year can give you an answer from their experience.
Thanks for the answer. Coat sold out in my size and color
Sorry to hear that Shari. Maybe wait list??? I’m sure there will be some coming back.
Oops! I meant classic t-neck and swing t-neck. I did see on one of the old sneak peeks that you showed the dingle dangle with the mock neck, but the t necks are bulkier.
Thanks!
Dear Chris, the Dingle Dangle works very well on all TN sweaters. It has the 3 inch extender so there is lots of room.
Hello,
I’ve looked at the dingle dangle necklace so many times and am wondering if it fits with the t-neck swing sweater or the classic swing or is it best with the jewel necks or v-necks?
Thank you!
I just read your latest posting on the WK Jewel Neck Sweater, and immediately did the internet version of running to QVC to order them, as I have been looking for a red sweater that wasn’t a swing version. I GOT IT!!! I am so excited, as I have the cardigan and skirt and the hammered button coat, and needed this to round out my outfits. Like everyone else, I love this red, and am delighted your have been allowed to make so many other pieces in this color. It hasn’t turned really cold in Georgia, but am crossing my fingers it will be so for Thanksgiving.
As to the pant color choices, I, too, would love the blackberry–love the TN sweater in that color, as well as a charcoal–hopefully one that is halfway between light charcoal and black. Olive would not be bad, either. I am about 5′ 5”, so what with all the length they add for those who wear six-inch heels, I try to stick with short length. Thank you for trying to get them to produce more of those in the petite length.
Looking forward to your next showing.
Penny
Louis, does the winter white Jewel neck top A285546 match the milano skirt A273880 in Ivory, can they be worn together?
I’m enjoying all my goodies and looking forward to the show next week!
YIPPEE, slim leg WK pants and long WK skirt!!! My colour votes are:
pants: navy, black, charcoal heather grey (to match what I already have!!!)
long skirt: navy, black, charcoal heather grey, scarlet
scarf: scarlet, navy, winter white
Could we ask again for holiday attire? I missed out on your previous holiday offerings of velvet and sequins … I really wanted your tuxedo suit too!
Just noticed that two of the gorgeous necklaces from your Byzantine collection are decorating the black TSV at QVC. Interesting …
Correction: One of them is your “Station” necklace.
Lest anyone look in vain, QVC just dropped the early-morning video for today’s special value in which the Linea necklaces were used. Exchanged it for the video from this morning.
I am concerned/confused by the circumference given for the new “Whisper Knit Long Sleeve Sweater” (A285546), the one we are referring to as the jewel-neck sweater. In the past, I have chosen the size Large for this sort of sweater in Whisper Knit. However, for this sweater, the measurement given for the chest circumference, 1 inch below the armhole, is surprisingly on the small side. If I size up to an Extra Large, I am afraid the sweater will be ill-fitting all over — simply too big and boxy. Yes, I have ordered the sweater in both sizes but I would really like not to have to pay shipping one of the sweaters back and, perhaps, order another color before they are all gone in my size.
So: Should I stick with the Large or go with the Extra Large? I am used to about a 42.5- to 43-inch circumference at the bust with Linea, am I not?
Goldie…this ENR is very stretchy!!!! Do not size up….stay with your Large or it will be huge on you!
Thank you, thank you, Louis! Will convert second order to another color.
Louis, Have been waiting for A282511 – the Super Ponte Slim Leg Pant. They were listed as “New Arrivals” on the QVC page, but both colors in every single size says “Waitlist”! Are they gone that fast??? Now you are saying that the new colors of the V -neck Shetland Sweater may not make it for this season? It sure is difficult at times to be able to order your clothes.
Dear Carol…..first…the slim pant will be on my Nov. 17th show, so they are simply not releasing them yet…..second, the v-neck Shetland sweater will be arriving at QVC late next week but it takes time to process, photograph etc the item before it gets posted….it will be here just be a little patient
Dear Louis,
You may have missed my question in your “Colors” request post. I was wondering if the new WK pants will come in a 32-inch inseam for the regular size? Thanks.
That is still to be determined, but I am pushing for it!!!! and the petite at 27″. They usually don’t like to do such a difference in lengths, but I think that will work best, but the final decision is QVC’s since it’s their money buying them.
Thank you for advocating for the 32-inch inseam, Louis, and persevering on our behalf. What I don’t understand…If QVC is offering 2 sizes in a pant, petite and regular, and one is a 27-inch inseam and the other is a 30-inch inseam, that leaves out anyone who is 5’7″ or taller. Since they refuse to offer tall sizing or provide hems, why wouldn’t they at least give more of a size span in the inseam measurement to cover women taller than 5 ft. 6″? Shorter women can hem most pants, but taller women can’t add fabric. Those of us who are taller than average and love your clothes–and in my case, your pants are the BEST fit I’ve ever had–are frustrated that we are ignored by QVC. I know there are budget realities, but I sure wish QVC would at least try to accommodate women of above average heights, whenever possible. I’m crossing my fingers they’ll balance the scales more in future seasons. Those are my two cents, anyway. Thank you for indulging my plea.
Amen. I’m 5’9″.
PS–women with Control pants almost always come in a 34″ inseam and most Issac pants are in talls. I just bought a version of his jeans and the inseam is 35″.
Thanks again.
I hear you and if it were my choice they would be 32″….I’ll see what I can do
Thanks, Louis!
Hi Louis
Just read your note about the sweaters selling out I have searching ever since you posted the new Shetland v neck colors and when I type in the number only the old colors show up?
Louis, I keep notes about upcoming items, even when you mention them months ahead, LOL. I have in my notes next to the Ponte straight leg pant that you mentioned at one time a ponte jacket. Is this still planned and will it be the same color as these pants? Trying to gauge my purchases if I need to leave room in the budget for a matching jacket.Thanks.
Dear Deborah…..sorry to not have kept you all up to date. No the jacket wasn’t ordered. We decided to replace it with the new jewel neck WK ENR sweater in the white, red, espresso and black which is already selling out in sizes.
I misunderstood. When they told me there wasn’t enough inventory to air the sweater they were talking about the “old” colors. I am checking where the new colors are???
Vote. Pants blackberry …dark taupe. winter white PETIITE
Scarf winter white .. scarlet. black
Thanks for asking
Louis my wish list for WK colors. 1) Navy 2) Blackberry 3) black 4) lapis.
Either they’ve not yet finished loaded all inventory for the new WK crew neck sweater or we’re all scooping them up fast, because there are broken sizes/waitlist in black and red!
Louis, you asked for suggestions for new Whisper Knit pants (I have them from previous seasons). I would love them in BLACKBERRY. You suggest wine and, although I have tops in wine, I’d prefer your new color, blackberry for the reorder. I trust they will come in petite, as the previous WK pants did, since they can’t be shortened.
In response to your question about colors for new WK pants, charcoal grey pants in petite would be awesome along with the aforementioned colors. Keeping my fingers crossed they get ordered.
Yes, charcoal grey would also be wonderful.
I am having problems with getting the long cardigan unzipped, I bought the grey/blue and it is beautiful. I was wondering if any one else is having this problem.
Did you try running a bar of ivory soap up and down on the teeth? That usually does the trick.
Thank you, I will try the bar of soap on the zipper.
Judy, if the soap does not work, try a candle. When I have a problem, I run the candle up and down both sides, usually 2 times.
Thank you Louis! Love the ‘new’ winged collar shirt so much . . .just ordered another White along with Black. Compliments galore!
Dear Pamela….it is always so nice to hear from my friend from Alaska. It always makes me happy to hear when one of my garments makes you all happy. Please take care in this winter ahead!
Dear Louis, I am still waiting for my sweaters to get here. (it takes 10 days from QVC). One should arrive tomorrow. I am a little jealous reading about the others who have already received theirs but I know good things come to those who wait. I was wondering if you had any leggings that will go with my spruce/fuchsia double-zip cardigan that is on the way. My hubby helped me choose the color of the cardigan. It was funny to see him sit and watch the presentation so intently as it is not something he would ordinarily do. He likes all the jackets I have gotten from you in the past years that I still wear often. I also got the WK v-neck sweater in wine. I look forward to your upcoming shows. Thank you for helping me feel so stylish.
Dear Amanda, I showed the Hunter Green Linea Body leggings with the Spruce green sweater. Even though they are not exactly the same they still work. What are you planning to wear under the cardigan?
Dear Louis, I am not sure yet what to wear under the cardigan, do you have any suggestions? I have some camis that are tunic length but the colors do not match, I thought I would keep it zipped over them until I find something that works. I will order the hunter green leggings. Did you ever know Geoffrey Beene? He was my cousin, his mother and my grandmother were sisters. When I would go and visit as a child I would pour over the vogues and fashion magazines and I feel like that is where I learned about well made clothes and why I am so drawn to yours over the others on QVC. The quality shows even in the photos.
Dear Amanda….the spruce green TN, A72448, matches the cardigan….I also like white, Ivory or the cream TN under the fuchsia
Dear Louis,
A few of us who were looking forward to the new WK crewneck sweater A285546 are noticing the short length and expect it may not fit. Are there any other (longer) WK sweaters on the horizon? I sure wish QVC would speed up reorders of basics, like your WK line!
Dear Grace. That is all the styles for 2016, but there are definitely some new for Spring and next fall. I have to say Jac had the Black sweater on with jeans and it really wasn’t short. Unless you have a very long torso it should be fine. I’m assuming your a sm or med? They lengths are longer. Jac had on an XS and she loved it.
Hi Louis,
I checked the lengths, and the new long sleeve sweater looks like it’s the same length as the short sleeve WK sweater A267882 that was a companion piece to a long cardigan. That one was a virtual sell out. I love it and have it in all colors – I’m 5’6″, long waisted, and it’s a favorite to wear alone or under blazers. I think it’s fantastic to be able to pick up a WK sweater that doesn’t come down tunic-style over the “bum and tum”, so I’ll be getting the new long sleeve version in multiples. I’m so glad you are offering this classic choice. It’s a much-needed basic, and I’m looking forward to wearing it with jeans at home and pencil skirts at work.
Dear Louis, thank you for your advice on fit. I’m a medium & 5’10”, but I think my torso may be a bit long, because an extra couple of inches in length would be perfect. (Not tunic length…just 2 inches). I feel the same way about the WK v-neck and turtleneck…extra inches in overall length and in the sleeves, too, would be ideal. This crewneck sweater is such a classic and workhorse in my everyday business & casual wardrobe that I’m hoping it works. I’m sure, once it’s presented, it will go the way of all your WKs and vanish!
Louis, the new A285546 long sleeve sweater is on QVC.com. I have in my notes that A267882, the short sleeve top, is reordered and expected around January. Will the short sleeve top also be in scarlet? I love the color, but probably will be able to layer more often with it than the long sleeve one here in Florida. But, I don’t want to miss out on a scarlet option to go under my scarlet cardigan and will get the long sleeves if that is the only scarlet sweater/top planned for now. I also have in my notes that a red shell is planned for February, but it is called “Poppy”, which doesn’t sound like it would be in the scarlet range. Am I correct in this? A shell or tank would be great in scarlet (although, who am I kidding…I probably will get the poppy also).
Dear Deborah….the reorder s/s WK will be in alabaster, black, ivory and perfectly pink……the poppy is a spring red and nothing like scarlet. As for when they will be avail…..that’s all changed, and I don’t know at this point when they will be avail….but they are all ordered so they will be coming.
Louis, will there be any holiday outfits? I was not fortunate enough to get the black sequin skirt and top from a few years ago (managed to snag the red and blue on sale!) and was sad that the tuxedo pants were not made/sold last year (I think you had tuxedo pants planned).
Anything coming up for this holiday season?
Looking forward to the new WK crew neck tops in scarlet and winter white (any hope of matching winter white skirt?) as well as the new ponte straight leg pants.
Dear Merrylass……unfortunately I don’t have anything dressy. They just aren’t buying anything dressy from me? No winter white coming yet, but I’d like to do some white bottoms.
Well, that’s disappointing. Your dressy clothes for fall/winter have always be amazing. I still have, and love, some beautiful sequined pieces from you as well as the long velvet skirts from several years ago. Oh, and the boucle tuxedo inspired jacket in black and the same in magenta. You have been my go-to for Christmas parties and New Years. How I would have loved to have your tuxedo pants and the sequin pants. I hope QVC reconsiders and let’s you do some dressy pieces in the future. Your separates are also great for the high/low velvet or sequins with denim look. Sigh. I will made do with what I have been fortunate to accumulate from the past.
Julia
I agree with you, Qulia! I was hoping for the tuxedo suit and maybe even a maxi version of the sequin skirt. Fortunately, I have the knee-length sequin skirt & top in black and wear that outfit every holiday season, plus several well-loved velvet pieces. I never tire of wearing them–perfect classics. Although people are dressing more casually, even during the holiday season, which is maybe why QVC is shying away from dressier clothes, I have friends who still throw fancy parties every year and jeans are not an option!
Dear Grace…..I’m sorry I have not been able to convince the buyers to purchase anything dressy. They just won’t do it.
Dear Louis, sometimes I wonder what the QVC buyers are thinking! I know for sure, they don’t know your customers like you do and don’t seem to relate to our lifestyles and clothing needs. Thank you for persevering on our behalf and fighting the good fight 😉

The Straight Leg Ponte Pant and WK Sweter are showing “Waitlist’ – looks like they have not loaded the inventory as yet.
Scooped by the Q!
I have two screens open (one for the sweater, the other for the ponte pants) so I can order asap!
Any thing new coming in the November show?
Louis, didn’t you mention that there is a new crewneck type WK coming, and one of the colors is scarlet? I can’t find mention of it any place, so I guess it’s possible I dreamed that! 🙂
Your memory is too good….that’s my Nov. surprise!
For under the red poncho? You think of everything!
I shouldn’t leave you wanting.
Dear Judy there are some new things and some reorders that have not been aired, but I have no idea when they will be shown. I’m hoping everything will be on the Nov. show, but I won’t know until I get the script and that’s 3 days before.
Can blackberry be worn with other than black?
Grey and Dk. Navy look good with Blackberry
I got your cardigan in the wine-spice and I love it but I need to get something that matches on the bottom and top to wear with it. What would you suggest?.???
There are the wine leggings, A260034. that you can wear with boots or ballet flats or show boots and keep the cardigan zipped like a dress. The top is something else. All the Wine Pieces have sold out so I’ll have to get back to you.
I know it might be early to ask but will the Leisure pants A262070/A262072 be coming in either dark brown or olive as new colors? These are practically my uniform pants all year long!
Thanks,
Chris
Sorry Chris….they haven’t been reordered. They initially sold well, but then the reorder only did fair…..Not well enough to be considered as a reorder again, Too bad they were fabulous pants. I have a feeling that will happen to the Super Ponte Boot Cut pant…..the second go around is selling slowly. These are my all time favorite pants!
Not my fault! I’ve purchased 12 of the Super Ponte Boot Cut pants (A268216) in the last couple of months. They are truly a workhorse in my wardrobe. Only wish they had come in petite so I wouldn’t have had to pay for shortening.
Hi Louis: your opaque tights are “THE BEST”!!!!!! I have them in every color, but I can’t find BLACK on the qvc website. Will you be replenishing the black on qvc?
Thank you Louis. I have many of your sweaters and love the quality. I always watch your shows on the “Q” and enjoy them.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Margy
Dear Margy…..for some strange reason that leaves me scratching my head, QVC has decided to put the tights on CLEARANCE, which means there will be no reorders or new colors!I have discussed this with my buyers, because IMHO this is a huge mistake! I can’t improve on perfection. If I can convince them to bring them back it would have to be under a new A number….we’ll see if I can convince them!………………I wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving too!
Since we’re here and not on the Q, I feel able to ask this. Louis, do you think it might be because sales of your tights cut into sales of the Legacy line? If any Legacy shopper found yours online an ordered them, they wouldn’t go back to the other IMO. I didn’t. And, if you pull a search of tights on the website, the first item is your tights as a Best Seller. It is my understanding that Legacy Legwear is a trademark and line owned by QVC. I imagine they’d be watching anything that affects those sales. I was surprised when they picked up the tights line from Muk Luks.
Dear Deborah….I don’t have a definitive answer for you, but what you say makes perfect sense. I will say they expect a certain amount of sales to be generated to maintain inventory, but it’s difficult when there isn’t any promotion to speak of [just my shows], and Legacy is on quite often. I KNOW my quality is BETTER, but it’s all about keeping it out there and in the customers sight……Out of sight….out of mind.
I can’t understand this! These tights are fantastic – I’ve kept stocked up on them ever since they became available. I just went to the Q and bought every color available in size B. So frustrating!
Enjay…..and for me….these should be left alone, and just kept in stock. I’m very upset about this. Without a basic tight I’m out of business, so I’ll try to bring them back.
Is the gray in the slim ankle pant A265615 a dark heather gray? Thank you.fue5/
No, the grey is a solid color, and it’s not dark.
Wonderful, gorgeous and a winner indeed my charcoal/blue and wine/spice arrived today in a box no bag. Very very chic and svelte indeed, hangs nicely too. I will be wearing the grey/blue to an appointment tomorrow in the city and the wine/spice later that evening to a charity event. Going to write my review and see how I will wear the wine spice tomorrow.
My ponchos, which still show “in process”, arrived today unexpectedly!
Oh my.
The drape, the colors, the fit! I ordered M/L and am glad to have the extra length and sexy slouch. I knew I’d love the red and black options, but the camel might be my favorite. It’s so Town and Country, classy, elegant.
It’s cold in my office (though 80 outside) and I’m wearing it right now over a white cotton tank and skinny jeans. Fabulous.
Can’t wait to get home and try the red over the red WK skirt!
Another “so glad I bought all three” piece from this always amazing collection.
Kate….so glad to hear you like the way they look. They are really luxurious.
How are you accessorizing the new long double zip a282504 zip sweater in blue and grey(have many older piece of jewelry from you too) What pins or necklaces would you suggest? just love it with the new heather grey tights ,skirt and turtleneck!! Thanks
Dear Debby….I like it with GUNMETAL. That’s how I showed it in the show. I had the Bar necklace, J325471, with the Demi Hoop, J270391. There is also an “As Is” for the Demi Hoop in Gunmetal, J333447. Honestly, I don’t know the difference between the regular and “as is” except the price. For something a little more dressy I like the Ribbon Necklace, J331643 in the gunmetal with the same Demi hoop. I can see it with the matching V-neck Faux Shetland sweater, or the WK H.C. Grey V-neck or the WK TN in H.C. Grey worn with the matching WK H.C. Grey Skirt and the H.C. Grey tights. It’s like a modern knit suit. The ribbon necklace would be perfect with this outfit.
Typo. Should read I am over the moon!
I am 5ft 4 Four items just arrived.MM sweater is wonderful. And also the black WK v neck. The green coat. sweater in xxs isaperfect dress or sweater .Just beautiful!,, The red poncho in s/xs isfinger tip length. So perfect!,, I am over tenon ..Then add red and white coats. Red TN Red skirt. red quilted jacket and red swing cardigan? Oh my Also British tan coat and dark umber jacketI am happy as a queen Thank you Louis I have many of your AK and Ak 2 pieces and have loved you all these years.
Dear Clothes horse….now I understand your moniker!!!! You are a clothes horse!, and I love it. You are going to kill em’ in your new outfits!
Opinions needed on wearing red poncho over red coat?..
I will check it out on my form and get back to you……I don’t see why it shouldn’t work….it’s all about attitude…..how tall are you?
Dear Clothes horse…..I just tried the cape over the coat. I am assuming you would want to do this for added warmth? They work fine together. There is about 2 to 3 inches of coat peeking out from the bottom of the poncho….not much. I would recommend wearing these to pieces with black pants.
I was going to ask you this very question, Louis! My poncho arrives tomorrow when I can see in person. I could have used it today, however! We attended a beautiful harpsichord concert of the music of Versailles yesterday late afternoon. I was in all Linea: black tights with black riding boots and black trouser socks; black WK swing sweater, scarlet coat, and gold Trapeze Necklace. Vintage Anne Klein earrings in the same gold finish. Was perfectly warm until after dinner later on when the poncho would have come in handy. A woman at the concert sought me out to ask about my necklace! When I told her it had been made by a designer friend, she thought that it had been bench made just for me! She couldn’t quite believe that it had been mass produced 🙂
That would be black leggings!
Dear Louis,
I will understand if you need to delete this message because of the link below, but I think your fingerprints are all over this Donna Karan commander-in-chief ad campaign from 1992. The pin-stripe suit, the huge pearls. Your designs, by any chance?
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2016/10/25/long-before-hillary-clintons-pantsuit-designers-tried-to-make-powerful-women-look-cool/
No it’s all Donna…..we were not working together when this was done. However when we were together it’s a jacket we did many times, and we always used pearls. As a matter of fact I designed Donna’s wedding dress, and she work lots of pearls.
What a fabulous memory to have designed Donna Karan’s wedding dress! As I read, she was so very much in love with her late husband. Wonderful memories…
It is obvious from the shoot of the “commander-in-chief” that you and Donna Karan shared a similar designer vision. No wonder you two were (and still are) such fast friends.
We had very similar tastes about clothes…..really about many things. I think that’s why we worked so well together, but everything must come to an end and you look for what’s….next…..and next can be very exciting.
I agree, Louis. Life’s journey is one of change and growth. Otherwise, we will wilt and perish.
Is it gratifying to you to be in such close communication with those who appreciate your clothes? Would seem that is something QVC allows you which may have been lacking before.
Dear JBCinSD……I have always designed for the women who wear and appreciate my clothes. That may seem like a strange thing to say, but there are many designers who prefer not to be in contact with their customers. They live in a rarefied world, and think that only 5″10 models wear their clothes, and that’s all they want to see and think about. I am always happy to hear when my designs work out well for the women who purchase them, and that they look and feel beautiful. It is my goal to make women the best that they can be. I want them to be sophisticated and elegant. Old fashion words maybe, but good style and looking good never goes out of style…….QVC has nothing to do with my communicating with my customers, and I think they are astonished, but very pleased I have such a strong bond with the women who have become my customers, and for whom I design.
My charcoal/blue arrived yesterday and my 5 star review is already posted. It’s such a beautiful sweater. I bought my regular size of xs and the fit is spot on. No need to size up or down because there is enough room for layering. I own the charcoal V-neck faux Shetland and I wear that so often. It’s nice to feel comfy and look so put together at the same time. I’m going to go back and order the wine/spice. Thank you for such another beautiful design, Louis.
Nancy….so glad you like your sweater! You can wear your V-neck matching sweater with your new cardigan….and when it gets really colder a white T shirt under the V-neck and the cardigan over it all…..it will look wonderful.
Hi Nancy – I also wear my V-necks often, I have the blue and mauve. It’s such an easy piece to throw on and look pulled together. I cannot wait for the new colors and the gray is also on my list. I love in MA and these are perfect for me. I ordered the charcoal/blue sweater and it’s en route, cannot wait to see/wear it.
*live – I live in MA
Hi right back, Donna. I wore my grey/blue cardigan today over a crew neck tunic whisper knit and Linea leggings. It was sunny and in the 50’s here in CT and perfect weather for this cardigan. You’re absolutely right about it being an easy piece to throw on. It’s nice not to have to think too much about what to wear-Louis does that for us. Enjoy your sweater and wear it in good health!
Dear Donna….a heads up….the grey has not been reordered, so if there are any left you may want to get it if you bought the grey/Persian blue cardi.
Thank you Louis!!! I just ordered the gray 🙂
Hello Louis, I’m wondering if you will be bringing back the long sleeve peplum knit tunic A267877 in more color options. It’s a beautiful top that I love wearing, so hoping your answer is yes….
Dear Debby…..unfortunately it was not reordered. I agree with you it is a wonderful top….Maybe I’ll try it as a V-neck??
I love this top as well. Yes a V-neck would be spectacular.
Yes, I would love it as a V-neck. I don’t understand why it wasn’t reordered as they are almost gone and have rave reviews. After hearing your explanation during the new wk V-neck swing sweater presentation as to the “cone” effect (I think that was your word/description) causing the sweater to be so flattering and different than other designers, I understand why the peplum tunic is so flattering. I have tried on other tops with the sharkbite sides and they just don’t look right. It’s because they aren’t full enough in front. They don’t’ drape well. So, thanks for the explanation and for your flattering designs. My husband loves the peplum tunic on me, so I’m sure he will love the new swing sweaters as well. Thanks again.
My sweater cardigan also just arrived and I love it. So soft. Hope you’ll show more items in this wonderful fabric.
DOUBLE-ZIP LONG CARDIGAN ARRIVED …
… and it is a WINNER, Louis! My final choice was the wine/spice in a Large, which is plenty roomy, for those who are interested in the fit. There is room to spare, too. Love the fit, feel and look of this spectacular piece. Going for another. So super-chic — even on those who aren’t svelte! Please bring in more of the charcoal/blue, which is sold out at this time (except for the Small).
