Louis and Linea Ladies,
A285546 is on lunchtime special. It’s an unbelievable price today. I love this top under cardigans when I want more than a tank, but don’t want a t-neck. I already own 3 colors. I just ordered back-ups in black and winter white. I don’t understand why it didn’t sell. I was hoping for more colors.
Chris, same thoughts here. The world is topsy-turvy when schlocky stuff moves ahead and classic virtues are left behind.
Goldie, I agree. It’s a classic with 5-star reviews…I don’t get it. I purchased it in every color once I saw the length would work and wear it constantly. I was hoping for a reorder in more colors!
This outcome is one of the greatest mysteries for me regarding fashion at QVC. Very puzzling.
Ladies I totally agree I ordered three colors as soon as it was loaded in the system. These are my classic go to sweaters I was hoping for more colors as well. I just ordered the black which was the only color I was missing.
luv, I suppose those who bought these classic sweaters could be regarded as the “winners,” but there could have been so many more. It’s a “conundrum wrapped in an enigma.” Who wouldn’t want a true classic — in classic colors — in her wardrobe? They are so well made, too.
Goldie….that’s what I thought…..this was a customer requested silhouette, but I guess it was just a few who really wanted it, because the selling wasn’t good, and they certainly will not want me to bring in new colors…..so it’s a one and done……It’s not easy to come up with classics!? I can’t reinvent the wheel.
I ordered an additional set of white, brown and black also. I love this sweater. It is so versatile as well as slimming.
Louis,
I bit the bullet and ordered the baseball jacket in Ivory. I’m so in love with my black one I just had to have another one. I’m 85 but still love good fashion.
My baseball jacket in pink arrived, and just like the other reviewers, I fell in love with it. The fit makes it so special, and the fabric is perfect. I absolutely love the embroidery; it really makes the jacket. I have a lot of blouses and shirts to wear this with, but the most surprising combination is the Raspberry Kate shirt–love the dark with the pink. I also ordered that shirt in Tea Rose, which I think will give it tonal interest. It makes spring seem much closer. Now, I’m off to write a review on QVC. I’m looking forward to your show on the 13th. Hope there are some new items.
Louis, my black baseball jacket arrived. I tried it on right away this morning. I love it! Of course, I will be leaving a 5-star review. I immediately ordered the jacket in ivory as well. Such a special design – fun and comfy. I was privileged to get some of your early embroidered pieces and embellished ones. I treat them like collectors’ items. I never want to see them wear out. I have an orange t-shirt that you had embellished with gold studs and white stones. My friends and family rave every time I wear it and ask it it’s new. I smile because I know it seems new to them because I only wear it a few times each season since it’s so special. I’ll have to post the item # when I unpack it for spring so you can see which one I’m writing about. Thanks for so many beautiful clothing options, that makes even this plus size look good.
Dear Deborah….I’m so happy to hear you love your jacket. I know you will love the ivory one just as much….Please don’t forget to post the item number of the Tee shirt….I don’t remember it!???
Louis, the item number of the tee-shirt is A199265. I loved this one so much that I bought it in spite of the fact that it is 1″ shorter than I normally wear in a top. As you can tell by the number, this was some time ago and yet all the embellishment is still intact.
Yes, I remember it well. It actually didn’t do as well as I had hoped it would. I think it looks better then ever!Glad to hear yours is STILL in good condition after all of these years!
Louis,
I love your new Tee shirts. I only wear white tees…hope you will consider making a version of this tee into a v-neck also into a long and a 3/4 sleeve. This is a basic/ classic/ needed all the time / all three versions in white. Also maybe navy or black, although I personally prefer navy to black. I find white brightens the face!
Thanks for your consideration
V
Louis, I agree with Victoria. Great T. I’ve ordered 5 of them so far. I’d love to see this reordered and expand the essentials with both necklines and different sleeve options.
Dear Victoria…all styles have been drawn, but I can’t promise they will buy them
Thank you! Years ago one of the reason I love the GAP when it first started, it was in my hometown San Francisco. They provided classic leisure clothes. Could go there anytime of the year and buy classics. White tees, all necklines, sleeve lengths, basic cardigans, jeans and khakis. I came to you and Anne Klein at SFA for my professional clothes. Some things are just basic necessities for womens fashion needs! I have salt and pepper hair …and love my whites!
Louis, I would love to have the new tee shirt in a v neck with 3/4″sleeves.I am enjoying my new clothes from your collections so much. Thank you for such a great selection, and I look forward to the new items in a few weeks. I just saw the new longer tank and cardigan and as a sneak peak and can’t wait to get those.
Louis,
Wore my black baseball jacket with new pink tee shirt to a function yesterday and got rave reviews. I love that jacket and it’s so comfortable.
I can’t figure out how to post a new question, so I’m posting my query as a reply to Beryl. (Apologies, Beryl). Dear Louis, I broke the buckle on the sleeve of my beloved double breast trench coat (A267875). Can you direct me to where I might order a replacement? Many thanks, Nedra
Dear Nedra…..What color is your coat and buckle. Different color coats had different color metal buckles. Since all the factories are closed for Chinese New Year. I won’t know anything until the factory opens again.
Dear Louis, The coat is navy with black trim. The buckle is black.
I’ll be patient. By the way, you’re amazing. No other designer would take the time to respond to a single customer’s special request. With gratitude, Nedra
Thanks Beryl for keeping me posted!
Please come back to the forum Goldie. We love your posts.
Thank you, Beryl. As you can see from my posts to 1jac and Grace, I will probably return and try to be “good.” It is so hard to hold back, though, when some thoughts are put out there. All I can say is “God bless America!” Despite all its pockmarks, this is such a wonderful place and we are fortunate that, by the accident of birth or the wisdom of choice, we are part of America.
Goldie, how ridiculous! I cannot imagine anything you’d say would result in getting banned. The moderators are getting way too touchy over there or perhaps intelligent exchanges are too much to handle. And to think we just got you back in the Linea Forum! I echo what others have said…do your time and come back pronto! Your voice has been sorely missed for far too long already. xo
Grace, I guess I really hate being muzzled and perhaps that is why I thought I will just drop the other forum. The folks over there who contribute often come up with some juicy and inviting topics, and I cannot help myself but join in their discussion. But lately, it seems that my contributions to their discussions — and my own original discussions — are thought to be offensive. I do handstands not to offend. As I see things, we are simply “discussing” matters. My new mantra will have to be: “Linea only. Linea only.” Thanks for encouraging me to return.
You know I’ll state something again on another topic, but I will try to contain myself.
Don’t give up Goldie. Your opinions and thoughtful comments are far too important to us for you to give up the fight! Where is your Greek fighting spirit? Forge on, don’t let them win. Please carry out your 5000 word sentence and come back.
I am chuckling, 1jac, because I must have felt your vibe last night. Why? For some reason, I decided I wanted to sing the Greek national anthem last night. I brought it up on YouTube, and it had the transliteration of the lyrics, which was a great help to me since I do not have the anthem memorized. Sang it twice (my one son, in another room, must have wondered just what was going on in my mind). I’m not switching allegiances, it is just that I had this hot desire to sing it and maybe, just maybe, finally learn the lyrics. During my brief time in after-school “Greek School,” which was held in a nearby small town, we had to sing it. If my comments are restricted to the Linea forum, I should be safe.
GOLDIE76
The good news is that 5,000 minutes equals only 3.47 days. I’m sure your forum ban/detention has already been satisfied.
So we expect to see you and your thoughtful comments back on he QVC forum. Hugs.
CC, I did the math on that, too, but figured I’d be “back in the brig” before I knew it. What is it, “three strikes and you’re out” on the QVC forum? I’m afraid it would be a matter of time before the doors would finally close on me. I could try to self-regulate but know I’d slip up.
Don’t know if I want to gamble on it. Of course, if I restricted myself solely to the Linea forum, I’d be okay. But can I do it? I’ll try — hope I don’t fail.
If I seem a bit negative about it, it’s because they had removed several of my original posts within 10 minutes of posting. So, I think they are on alert for me, and it seems what I regard as inoffensive is provocative to them. Provocative for thinking? Yes. I hardly call that objectionable, but that’s just me.
Goldie,
My comments to you were posted further down and I don’t want you to miss them. I will miss you on the forum but look forward to reading your comments on this blog. I always
enjoy them.
Thank you, Beryl. You correctly suspected that I missed your comments. I guess if I could keep my enthusiasms to myself, I wouldn’t be in the QVC doghouse. Thank heavens for Louis’s site or I’d really be bummed, as the youngsters say.
Well, I anticipated this outcome but went ahead and shared some critically important information (to my mind) on the QVC board. It concerned Big Data and its impact on the presidential election. Both parties employed this tool (if the moderator had read the entire article, she would have learned this), but the victors were astute enough to use this terrifying tool more. Anyway, I am no longer there on the forum. Been banned for nearly 5,000 minutes or something. I regret that I can no longer share my enthusiasm regarding Linea on the forum.
This post might be deleted, too, and I would understand if it is, Louis. Just wanted others (and you) to know why I won’t be waving the Linea flag on the forum any longer.
Oh Goldie,
I’ll miss seeing your posts but will continue to see you here on Louis’s site. I’ve always appreciated your thoughtful, intelligent comments and your poetic flair. No doubt about it, data and false news were players on the game board. It’s a new world.
Julia
Thanks so much, Julia. I should have stuck with the Linea forum only, but sometimes I just could not help myself. Somehow, a response bubbles up very spontaneously from me on some topics. One of my standing jokes is that I came out of the womb thinking about a topic and voicing an opinion. My poor mother. She was cut from a different cloth, and I must have driven her mad when I was a child. 🙂
Sorry to hear that you have been banned from the Forums Goldie76! Hope you continue to posted here on the Blog. I enjoy your posts.
Thank you, Seka. I love Linea and will remain here as long as Louis allows me to be here.
Dear Goldie….anyone can wave their banner here anytime! You know what they say…..best not to discuss religion or politics. I guess free speech doesn’t exist everywhere.
Dear Louis,
I will most certainly continue cheerleading for Linea here (and try to be apolitical while I’m at it).
That QVC forum is easily offended or does not want real discussion. Maybe discussions become nasty often, and QVC just does not want any part of it. It would be nice, though, if those on opposing sides could find common ground. Yesterday I read a book review of Joyce Carol Oates’s new novel, “A Book of American Martyrs.” I was so impressed by the review and the content of the book, as presented by reviewer Ron Charles, that I wrote my appreciation to him. (Such a gentleman. He responded with gratitude.) When you read the review, you much better understand the divided soul the U.S. now has and that mutual understanding has got to emerge or we will be doomed. Here is the review. Read it when you have time and see what you think:

Dear Goldie,
I was so happy to see you back on the forum and now I’m so sad to you banned. I will continue to love your comments on this blog.
Beryl
Goldie, you naughty girl. But you KNOW they’re always watching, & not taking chances with sales! I mostly stay off the forum, too, for my own reasons, so I guess our reviews will just have to speak for the clothes, which speak for themselves anyway.
April, I completely forgot about the money angle. Of course it is all about the money! And the QVC forum does not exist as a political cracker barrel, I guess. It was just a nice place to hang out, I thought.
Hi Louis I thought I could find the address for the jewelry repair on your blog but unfortunately I couldn’t so could you please repost it for me. Thank you so much!
WK Hoodie?? I’m in!!
Nylon zipper? Good call.2 way-nice!
And, I’d like pockets on the slant.
Not patch pockets, slant pockets.
Oh, and please remember us pastels gals!
And no tight band at the bottom, please.
Sleeves-not tight please! As some of us
get older the chunky monkey grabs on the backside of the arms.
Ditto to this! Thanks Shari!
Good morning, Louis. I, too, really enjoyed everything about the show, & with the numerous easy pays (which are always such a help) was able to fill in a few gaps in my wardrobe, specifically in the umber color line which I’ve been eyeing since the fall. The sun is shining here in Buffalo, the City of Good Neighbors, the snow we received is sparkling & making all the skiers & winter festival planners VERY happy, & I’m about to go out & shovel the slate path to our back door as my husband has disappeared somewhere without a word, but the front steps await him as well as the driveway, so serenity reigns. What I’m leading up to is that this has me thinking about how much I would love a WK hoodie; in fact, I have been thinking about how much I would love a WK hoodie for a few years now. Pull over with a kangeroo pocket or a double zip & pockets, I don’t care, but I’ll bet the women who own the WK pants might like this, too, & certainly it fits in well with the casual wear zeitgeist while remaining very chic. I have a couple in cashmere, but they’re a pain, expensive to maintain, & yours would be so much nicer. I have the cotton blend one you designed a couple of seasons ago, but what I’m thinking is more street. Anyway, just my 2 cents, which everyone seems to have, & I appreciate that you let us give it.
Dear April…..I can’t tell you how many times I have proposed this to the buyers. I have even had samples made, but because it is pricey they always pass. It was a double zip front. I will bring it up again.
Louis, you’re the best. Those buyers? Not so much.
I’m with you regarding those Buyers!
And YES Louis is The Best!
A Whisper Knit hoodie. Yes, that is something I’d gravitate to. Great idea, April!
WK hoodie in the longer length like the faux Shetland would be wonderful.
The buyers have budgets to deal with too. These big manufacturing conglomerates make big demands. You know what they say about putting your eggs in one basket….it’s never a good idea.
WK hoodie yes. But please make it with a nylon zipper. Do not like a metal zipper with WK. Something about it is too clunky and not sleek enough for this incredible WK fabric.
Louis, when is the much anticipated WK duster to make its appearance? And, of course the new marching tunic. You mentioned in February–its February! Please show us some photos to tide us over until we can gobble these up;).
I also would love a whisper knit hoodie. I did purchase A268127 Linea Pullover Knit Hoodie. The pullover hoodie is so special that I have acquired all three colors – Heather Blue, Oatmeal as well as Taupe. I love these hoodies especially with my leather jackets. The fabric is soft and luxurious, non itchy and the sweater looks mucho expensive. The taupe version of this hoodie is killer with my Linea brown leather moto jacket and my Linea straight leg espresso pants. Just a thought!
I’d buy several WK hoodies and would even love a pullover option without a zipper!
This is exactly what I was thinking – no zipper gets my vote!
Louis
Went on line to Jedrzejko, bought three of the berets, in Raspberry, ivory and black. Will look very chic with my pixie cut. Then checked out the scarves!! OMG! They are so beautifully striking ! What neat colors and so viberant! Numberous ways to wear them too!
Really had to stop myself from going overboard.
Thank you for letting me know about this company.
I’m wondering if you will have any light grey trousers coming for Spring? Never realized how hard they are to find!
Shari……glad you liked the site. I plan on using some of the colors for sweaters….then I’ll have matching Berets!……No silver gray pants coming, but I’ll keep them in mind.
I’ll be waiting!!⌚⌚⌚⌚😀
Hello Louis
Is there any chance the Capri legging is coming back in white?
Thank you
Not this year…….hopefully next
Hi Louis
When will the new slim ankle pants in alabaster be offered for sale.
Nice show yesterday. I purchased in advance the baseball jacket in black.
The alabaster slim pant is due for the July transition line.
I am so happy you have decided to do the slim ankle pants in alabaster. I cannot wait to purchase. I love those pants. They look and fit like a dream on me. Thank you Louis.
Dear Louis, I enjoyed your shows today. I love to hear you talk about the fabrics and the way things are made, for instance the all needle Whisper Knit. It makes me curious enough to want to tour a textile factory. Your designs were as always fabulous. I ordered the baseball jacket and a hoodie. Always impressive.
Great show!!! Would love to see the sneak peek of the new very long wooden bead necklace again 99SE
which video is it on can’t wait to buy,!
Hi Louis! Great shows today! It is always a great day when we get to see you and Jac! Did I see a seed bead bracelet today or was that my imagination? If so will we see this on the Q?
Susan
You did see it, but it wasn’t ‘bought. It is so pretty I had to use it in the show……maybe next go round?
That’s too bad! It looked beautiful! I have two of the Spectacular Seed Bead Necklaces!
Ditto for every word from Seka.
Oh, Louis! That is such a disappointment. The bracelet was really striking. What were “they” thinking that it wasn’t “bought” especially after the immediate sellout of the necklaces. Well, we can only hope for the next go round.
I saw the bracelet too and was looking forward to putting It with J329563 in turquoise. Maybe you could show the buyers at the Q all the buyers they would have for it. Great show.
Rats! That bracelet also called to me as I have the black seed necklace. Time for a petition to Q V C buyers!
It’s not that they didn’t like it. On the contrary, they liked it a lot, but didn have the budget to buy it. If the seed bead necklaces sell out again when they return then I’ll show them to the buyers again, but something else will have to be dropped!?!?
Dear Kathy…..the seed bead bracelet and your necklace wouldn’t work together anyway. The new Faceted wire cuff in gold will work much better, and will keep the Egyptian mood.
Thanks Louis, I will look for the wire cuff.
Sooo looking forward to that golden wire cuff, Louis. Your eye for the beautiful is unmatched!
Louis, thank you for the sneak peek of the long wood and metal necklace. Gorgeous and ideal for my 5’11 frame! I’ll get both colors as soon as I see them. When will they be available?
Dear Maia, the “AZTEC” necklaces will be avail sometime in April
Great show, Louis!! It’s always wonderful seeing your clothes on models with your beautiful styling ideas. I bought the black/white swing tee, the luscious “baseball jacket” in Parfait Pink–love that shade–and 2 more “Kate” shirts in tea rose and pale aqua. That makes 9 of the shirts I own. Can’t wait to get my haul. And am looking forward to the February 13th show. By the way, the sneak peak of the Mardi Gras necklace really whets my appetite for when it comes out–also the matching bracelet. So many good things. Hope you made it home okay.
Penny
Would the A267883 in grey match with the grey weathered wk skirt? Are there any grey shells that would also coordinate? Thanks ! Love your line!!
Debby, please refresh my memory… What is this? In general there aren’t any grey tops coming.
A267883 is the Grey and blue color blocked top that had a matching grey sold out short sleeve sweater- is there another top that would match it underneath and does the wk heather grey skirt go with the color block sweater can’t wait for your show later!
Debby,
Not meaning to answer for Louis, but I have the grey short-sleeved top that coordinates with the grey/blue color block cardigan. And I have the heather grey WK pieces. Love them all but I do not wear them together. For me the greys tell different stories and to my eye don’t coordinate well. That being said, I find all the pieces to be essential in my wardrobe even if I don’t mix and match those particular greys. There was a grey sleeveless shell in heather grey that went with the heather grey swing cardigans A237404. It’s almost sold out in the heather grey. I do find that the heather grey plays nicely with other WK colors, just not that other solid grey.

Sorry about the double post. I got an error on the first one and thought it didn’t go through.
Dear Debby…..read Julia’s reply to your question she is 100% correct. I would go for a contrast like the Pale blue or white Kate shirt or the wing collar shirt….In the spring a white Tee or ivory WK tank
With the heather grey and blue cardigan, I find myself going to your older blue rayon top with the long mesh sleeves. The finely gaged sleeves are very comfy under the cardi, and the blue is spot on.
Wouldn’t have thought of that! great suggestion. I have to check if the Linea Leisure Fog V-neck T shirt works. I don’t know if the greys are compatible.
Hi Debby I wear this grey top A267882 with my grey/blue cardigan…works beautiful together but only the xxs is available now. I don’t own he grey WK skirt yet so I can’t help with that.
Hi Debby, I wear this blouse/shell A267863 in slate with the grey & blue block sweater & it matches beautifully. But, I just checked QVC & the inventory is limited. One is left in size 6. You might get lucky on Ebay, though.
thanks everyone for your very helpful input. it’s great to be a Linea girl -always chic!
You’re very welcome, Debby! The blouse & tank I suggested is one that Louis paired with the block cardigan when he first presented it. But, alas, it was so popular, it disappeared quickly! I own it in every color and wear them often this time of year. And, yes, we Linea girls are always chic!
Dear Louis
Thanks for telling us where we could buy the berets. The baseball jacket in black and a pink beret are on their way to Wisconsin. I wish you could bring the coat back with the embroidery, I do have the bell sleeve top in black. Thanks for all the hard work you do.
Hi, Louis. Further to our discussion of the Black Embroidered Baseball Jacket—it looks great with the Grass Green “Bandage” Skirt (A265605)and Top (and the Black Bandage Dress, too) and also the Textured Pull on Skirt in both Black and White(A265623)—not true lace—but “lacey” looking.
I love shopping my closet!
Have a great visit to QVC—I’ll be watching.
Sheila/Sheesh
I saw the new baseball jacket and thought, that’s not a silhouette that I like, but since it’s from your boundless creativity, I thought I’d give it a try. Bought the black (of course) and I am here to eat my words. It’s the skort all over again! This looks like a 800.00 piece you’d find on Rodeo. It’s stellar, really.
A magazine described this trend as “ballerina off duty.” Floral patterns and floral embroidery are everywhere this spring–I’m already ahead of the trend.
Oh Kate! You are making me rethink this Baseball Jacket! I had originally ordered the Black – then thought about it because of the embroidery thinking it will be too much (I like simple) & cancelled my order. Everyone that has received it has raved about it – & all the Reviews are 5 Star!
And, Seka, the fabric of the jacket is just wonderful. I got the Black, and like you, I was hesitant–“too much”, perhaps. As Iris Apfel says–“More is more and less is a bore?”
And Iris is a woman who knows!
Doesn’t she just.
Seka–don’t let this one get away. It is not only on trend, but the quality is remarkable. You’ll be seeing this everywhere but it won’t have the level of designer elements for this price. And, look, even if you only got a season out of it and moved on to something else, you’re not breaking the bank for it. Trends are fun. Clothes are fun. Give in .
LDO–I just snagged a burgundy with black trim WK poncho on ebay. I’m guessing this was a sample, not chosen for production. It seems like the poncho was not a sell out, but will there be more colors or was this awesome garment a one-off?
The poncho was definitely a prototype…..Sorry to say this will be a one of a kind….literally for the amount they ordered. Women constantly want new, and I try to bring new things. but so many women aren’t willing to give them a try. I’m glad you gave the baseball jacket a try! I really did see it on you with a short black skirt and a lace cami…..or a short lace v-neck sleeveless dress and super high heels…..fun for an LA party.
Hi Louis
Two things:
1. Loving the hot pink baret with the black embroidered jacket.
Wish you sold them
2. Are you having any dresses this spring summer? I loved the splotchy one you did a couple of years ago. Have 4 if those ,which I still wear.
Looking foward to your show on Monday
Dear Shari…….The beret comes from a company named “Jedrzejko”. It’s Polish and they have fabulous colors……4 pages of colors…….Just google them or find them on ebay which is wear I got them……..I will have one dress this spring, but nothing like the Feather Jersey
tie dye” dress you have. It will be in the Gauze crepe I used last spring. I did a dress in this fabric last year.
Shari….if you go to his website they are $9. Ebay sells them for $12. On his site just click shop on line. The beret you like is called Raspberry. However I don’t know the shipping cost.
The shipping is $7.50 for as many as you want and you can use paypal. The selection is great. Thank you for passing this information on to us
Did you all check out their print scarves and floral print bags? I think they are fabulous, and would definitely show them with the baseball jacket…..Some might think it’s too much, but not me. I’m sure Iris Apfel would carry it off with panache!
Just now viewing my recording of “AM Style” and spotted your goldtone “Trapeze” necklace nestled under the vest of a Denim & Co. “Pant & Printed Vest Set” (A292653).
Surprising since it’s sold out
I just checked the item and I see that QVC is now showing Amanda wearing the same outfit I saw this morning but with a different necklace. Here is what they have now: http://www.qvc.com/Denim-%26-Co-Active-Pant-%26-Printed-Vest-Set.product.A292653.html?productNumber=A292653
When I saw my recording before noon today, this olive multi outfit was worn by a model of color whose name I don’t know (I think she is fairly new). I did not watch the entire show, and so this outfit may have reappeared with Amanda. This is odd, I must say. Once before when I drew your attention to something Linea being worn, that video was exchanged for another in which the Linea item no longer appeared. I’m beginning to get paranoid here.
Goldie, I saw it too!
Thank you, Sheesh. I was beginning to wonder if QVC was trying to “gaslight” me. 🙂
But really, this is the second time I have walked through this sort of dance on Louis’s site. No one wants to lose credibility. As it is, we have to blindly accept that each of us is who we present ourselves as being. If we state that we saw something and there is no proof — or the proof has been poofed — doubt can creep in.
Thanks again!
Dear Louis,
I was on Newbury Street today and everyone from Anthropologie to Zara and Cynthia Rowley to Valentino had an embroidered baseball or bomber jacket. And I really think yours is more beautiful than any of them.
How do you know in advance what the fashion zeitgeist will be?
You’re amazing!
It really started with Gucci last season with a few jackets that he showed, and I thought….WOW, that’s something I could bring to my ladies…..now it truly is, as you’re discovering, the IT jacket.
The expert has his finger always on the pulse.
I’m wondering if you could tell me what size Jac wears in the baseball jacket. I tend to do well when I order the size she wears.
Dear Ruth, Jac is wearing the xs
Thank you. Have a wonderful day!
Hello Louis, I was going through my sweater today and I’m finding in my old age that blue t neck and everything pink is good on me. When I put that blue on it was amazing your face changes. Is there any chance the Whisper Knit swing sweaters for next season come in that blue and the T neck in pink please. I know that QVC doesn’t like pastels but there are some of us that need them.
Do you mean the pale blue TN from last season? Pink always sells well, but pastels are hit and miss. Personally I love them and you will see some this spring/summer.
Yes I love that blue color so flattering. There are so many shades of blue but my favorite would be Robin Egg Blue. I’m even thinking I should have my sofa upholstered in Blue Velvet with lots of buttons tufting and fringe skirt. What do you think I’m thinking old world elegance. Maybe to much PBS channels and Masterpiece movies I’m loving the history lessons rather than regular TV.
Louis, I’m so excited about the Floral Embroidered Baseball Jacket. I got it in Black–and the fit and fabric is marvelous. I’m planning an entire vacation wardrobe around this jacket! Going to Ireland and England in late August/early September—and this will be the “go to” item. Will take black and white bottoms; black/white/parfait pink tees; some hot pink and turq WK pieces–sleeveless T-necks and cardigans; and the new white/black zip hoodie—and I’ve got a wardrobe to mix and match for 2 weeks. I don’t even have to think about it anymore—and it’s 7 months away! Love it!
Sheila/Sheesh
Dear Shelia….if you have the need for something dressy in Ireland or for any occasion. I love the jacket mixed with Black lace….like a black lace skirt and an ivory or black tank…..even a little sheath dress in black……and the new Mardi Gras necklace looks superb with the jacket……there now I’ve go you totally dressed!
I received the swing tees (and yes, did a QVC review). They are wonderful. So flattering and I love the sleeve length. Hope these will be reordered! Also what will the boho colors be this year? Waiting on that and the georgette safari shirts!
can’t tell the colors yet, but they are fun!….I won’t have any surprises
Hello Louis,
Can you please tell me when the boho skirts will be available? Will taupe be reordered?
Thank you,
-Zoe
Dear zoe…..there will be 2 deliveries of new colors for the boho skirt. The first is March, and the second is April……The way QVC is going they probably will post all of them as soon as they receive them. The Kate shirt was supposed to be two deliveries, but they posted them all at one time……Taupe has not been reordered. Usually “fashion colors” have one go round unless there is a huge wait list.
Dear Louis,
With all this wonderful coverage of Mary Tyler Moore, especially that focused on her role in “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” I (and others) appreciate more fully the fashionable turtleneck she so often wore on that show. I was just viewing “Access Hollywood Live,” and they mentioned the Moore effect on the t-neck. At that moment I knew I was not alone with my t-neck thoughts that popped up in my mind last night. In the early ’70s, when “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” began, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was often caught wearing t-necks. She obviously loved the look. I know you remember that.
So, thank you, Louis, for replenishing our t-neck wardrobe and for creating such a fashionably cut t-neck. One of my favorite looks has always been the t-neck, over a skirt, with a belt loosely wrapped around on top or a great necklace hanging from the neck. To my eye, that has always been one great, classic look. It doesn’t get any better.
Dear Goldie,
All you’ve said is true.
The New York Times has an article on how MTM changed fashion and includes a photo of Valerie Harper wearing an embroidered jacket that vaguely reminds me of the embroidery on Louis’s baseball jacket.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/25/fashion/mary-tyler-moore-fashion-mary-richards.html?_r=0
Louis’ is much more current and attractive but it’s interesting to see embroidery used in the past.
Ruth,
Thank you so much for sharing the article on MTM with us. I truly appreciate additional insights into the sartorial style shown on the show. Can you believe about the embroidered baseball jacket! Unbelievable! And yes, all during the late ’60s and the early ’70s I wore many knit jersey dresses and two-piece outfits — very much like “Mary Richards.”
The truth is, the Linea turtleneck brought me back to wearing that sweater style. Until I had children, I had a totally fat-free midriff and an unusually small waist. (You should see me now, though. Oh, brother!) During my pre-partum days, I loved to wear the turtlenecks with the “ridges” in them, much like the style of knit Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis wore when Ron Gallela snapped candid shots of her on the streets of NYC.
With a thickish middle, I began to avoid turtlenecks. I also had become very sensitive to fabric around my neck. One day I decided to try the Linea turtleneck and I was hooked. It works for me, thickish middle and sensitivities and all. The style is very forgiving.
I enjoy the history of fashion too. Tonight I’m going to a talk at a local design school about the history of undergarments from the 1850’s to the 1950’s and how these have influenced the shape of women’s bodies. Maybe I’ll find out how my Victorian grandmother maintained a tiny waistline most of her life.
The stringed full corset was popular during your grandmother’s time, wasn’t it? As I recall, jutting derrieres were also the fashion at that time. So, J Lo and the K Klan have nothing on our grandmothers. Wasn’t there a bustle?
Enjoy your lecture tonight. You certainly have a legitimate and serious interest in fashion.
Yes, I guess that lace up corset is the answer.
You’re so nice. I enjoy all the arts. And I find apparel design to be interesting and fun. I love that our museums now have exhibits that cover various aspects of apparel design. There’s a show at the Peabody Essex called Shoes:Pleasure and Pain that I want to get to before it closes.
Have a great day!
Louis I can not rave enough about your ponte knit pants A268216 which I have in all the colors I am actually wearing the navy today; but to see that wine and especially winter white is coming (currently both are showing on waitlist) is absolutely fantastic….I am already on waitlisted for both colors! Thank you!!!!
WOW…..Those pants are for next fall, which is a long way off. They only hold wait list, to my understanding, for three months. Don’t be surprised if your wait list gets canceled…..Just know the pants are coming….The wine is the same as the TRENCH coat and the V-neck swing sweater
Will these pants be reordered in navy? Unfortunately, I only ordered 1 pair in navy and would love to have multiples. I’m treating my only pair of navy very carefully!
Not this go around.
Just knowing they are on the way is enough for me! I remember growing up my mother use to take me to Delancey Street in Manhattan in the summer to shop for my fall/winter clothing. I am sure those ladies that have the wine colors will be thrilled. I got the olive and the black trench so naturally I would love to see these pants in olive or hunter green.
Hello luvitorleaveit, just had ro respond….I grew up downtown and also shopped on Orchard Street. My favorite was “Seymour’s” on Grand Street, who carried many designers. I went there every payday, and my mother would always ask…”how much did you pay for that?” LOL
Very few merchants are left, it’s now the new hot spot neighborhood with restaurants, bars and clubs.
Regards, Elaine
Hi Elaine that use to be the place to shop outside of the regular department stores. I remember there use to be so many nice stores with reasonable prices too but those stores are long gone my mother and I would be there all day. Good memories.
Louis, I hope this hasn’t been missed and you already told us,but are the petite knit pull on pant coming back (A262072)? The XL have all been sold out a long time. That pant is cut so good and they are so comfortable and soft.Enjoying your new spring fashion. Thanks
Dear Katie, No they aren’t coming back and honestly I don’t know why???
Louis,
Just received black baseball jacket and I’m in love. It’s perfection. Yes, I have already submitted reviews on the forum and on the order site.
Hello Louis, I just received my Baseball jackets in all three colors and they are perfect in every way. Now I can’t wait to see what else you r bringing us this season. The new leisure T shirts will they match these jackets if so I will order them right away?
Dear Sharon …..YES, the Tee shirts match! They are in the Sneak Peek photos.
Louis, I have received two of the several pieces that you will be offering in Periwinkle. I especially love the way the tunic took the color (that was my precise vision of Periwinkle). The “Kate” shirt fabric interpreted the shade a bit differently but I love it. In fact, the three colors (Dark Olive, Raspberry and Periwinkle) of the Kate that I picked up this season are my favorites. Thank you!
Dear Goldie…..every time I have done periwinkle this season it has come out differently…..Three different factories, three different fabrics….three different Periwinkles……that’s just the way it is…totally out of my control…..As I say, when they come out the same it’s a miracle.
Not to worry. If I am thrilled with the two I have, I am certain I will love all. But, just as I wrote above, the hue of the tunic is EXACTLY what I was yearning for.
Your “Kate” shirt beats all, though. As you know, I am not a blouse girl, but I love my Katies.
I’m still awaiting my periwinkles, Goldie…Happy to hear you love yours!
I hope you receive yours soon, Grace. As I wrote to Louis, the shade, as absorbed by the tunic, is precisely what I was searching for. In the “Kate,” it is more mysterious, but it is still beautiful, of course.
Another thing, dear Louis. The neckline on the “Raglan Sleeve Tunic” (A262037) is a very flattering one. I don’t know if the seams leading down the torso have caused this effect or the actual cut of the neckline is what commends it, but it is one attractive neckline. Please repeat when you can.
Dear Goldie….it’s the neckline
Ah ha! It is superlative!
Hi Louis
Are you doing anything in your moss crepe fabric this year. I own many of your pieces and love moss crepe for traveling, etc?
Yes, I will be using the Moss Crepe
So glad to hear you’re doing more in the moss crepe. I love it.
I noticed Eileen Fisher is showing an outfit this spring that reminds me of your Slate Blue Moss Crepe top and Gauchos from last year.
http://www.eileenfisher.com/jewel-neck-box-top-in-featherweight-luxe-merino-r6ffs-w4246-1/?&color=3435
It looks as if Eileen was inspired by you.
I do think yours is more attractive though.
I’m looking forward to what you’ve created with the moss crepe this year!
I also LOVE the Linea moss crepe. Happy to hear we’ll be seeing more!

Linea Leisure by Louis Dell’Olio Short Sleeve Tee — perfection! Love the new fabric. Fit spot on. Wouold love to see more tops in this fabric, perhaps a short sleeve tunic length tee. Fabric is so amazing– it seems to have a nice cool hand. I’m dong the happy dance.
Dear Louis: Would love for you to design a balaclave or Inuit-style smokering/nachaq in Linea WhisperKnit. Thank you Dear Designer. Fingers x’d.

Fantastic idea, Pamela! I would buy one.
Oh my. No offense, but I wouldn’t buy one.
Are you certain your name is “Grace”?
Sorry if I’ve offended you, Pamela, but there’s no need for you to be rude. I’m just expressing an honest opinion to Louis. Maybe others will weigh in and love your idea 😉
Oh, dear. I think the place for others to “weigh in” is the QVC Linea forum, Grace. That is, unless LDO requests our opinions. This is “Ask Louis”, after all.
Are you sure about that, WNYGal/April? Because from what I see, there’s a lot more than just “Ask Louis” here…reviews are offered, opinions are shared, stories are told, and some even try to meddle.
Louis, my order of tees arrived at my office today. I immediately tried one on and loved it so much I wore it the rest of the day. I have placed an order for a 2nd batch. I do hope the leisure tee does so well that it is reordered in as big of an array of colors as the raglan tunic. This tee is a wardrobe essential. I’ve been ordering tee-shirts from another “in-house” line at QVC and get irritated with how poorly those hold their color and how much they shrink in length. I’m so glad to have an option at last that does the rest of my wardrobe (95% Linea) justice.
Dear Deborah….that’s good news. Please don’t forget to leave your comments and review on the Linea Forum, and the Linea site.
Any hints on what the colors of the high low tunic (A263353) will be? I have an alabaster fading down to black in my head, but I don’t know where I got that idea. I have become happily obsessed with my Linea wardrobe 🙂
You made a good guess, but since it is coming late summer that’s all I’m saying!
🙂 Can’t wait. Thank you!
Hi Louis!
The other day I had to look professional for a presentation, and I pulled out a red fitted jacket, and black skirt, vintage LDO, and I looked fabulous. I have a question about a pearl necklace, J296624 (3 rows). Are the pears glass? I’m thinking of this under the Kate shirt? I work in an office where we still wear jackets, and more business professional. Thanks!
Dear Trish….YES….the pearls are glass and excellent quality. I only use glass pearls. There is also a very pretty oval pearl earring surrounded by a gold frame if you are interested. It is a good size…..not big at all, but not dinky small. Both colors of the pearl necklaces are really beautiful [cream or pale grey], both would work with the outfit you described.
OK, thanks I got the grey…they are on sale! Today I wore my powder blue whisper knit turtleneck, again so many people commented on the color. It’s the nicest light blue shade in my closet. And I love the new spring colors of the Kate shirt. Thank you!

Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Whisper Knit Long Sleeve Sweater This is on clearance for 34.86. It is such a great fit and look. I was hoping that it would be available in other colors. Does the clearance price mean no reorders in other colors?
Frieda…..unfortunately yes….anything on clearance means it is being discontinued…no reorders. I was surprised this sweater didn’t do better since I had so many requests for a classic jewel neck long sleeve sweater in the ENR Whisper Knit?
I grabbed two of each color, once I saw it was going away. I don’t understand either. This goes with everything and is super flattering.
I’m sorry to hear that this sweater is discontinued. I was hoping for navy. I LOVE this sweater and purchased four of them.
Hi Louis,
Re your embroidered bomber: you’re always on trend. Here’s Reese Witherspoon following your lead.
http://www.instyle.com/news/reese-witherspoon-street-style-sporty-outfit
Dear Ruth…..thanks for the link….would it be bragging to say that I like my version better?
Not bragging, just speaking the truth. I like yours better too.
Dear Louis
I see the trapeze necklace is totally sold out. I love my black and have had many compliments. Will the trouser socks be o I got back? They are the best I have ever bought.
Thank you
The trouser sock are definitely coming back. I did suggest new colors besides black, but I don’t know what they will decide,
Are you planning a new crew neck long sleeve whisper knit sweater – Would love love love a heather grey& a walnut in the original longer length- to match my skirts, a must have basic!! Was in Linea head to toe Saturday – including jewelry! – received so many compliments!! Thanks so much!!!
Dear Debby….not a basic like the one I just did in black, winter white, scarlet red and espresso, which is now on clearance. I guess not as may women wanted a basic crew neck as I thought since that sweater is now on clearance. Sorry, I won’t be doing one anytime soon.
Length of mardi gras will be perfect for my thick neck. Can’t wait.
Hi Louis, can you tell me what size of the new pink tee shirt that Jac wore on AM Style yesterday? I love how the fit looked when she opened her jacket…not too tight. I am usually one size larger than she, so a good way for me to decide which size to order. I was not able to watch yesterday, but saw the video presentation of the new Linea Leisure Zip Front Jacket online. There is no video of the tee shirt presentation.
Morning Carol……she wore an XS……It’s a nice easy fit. Not tight, but not baggy. If you normally wear one size larger then Jac, then the SM should be good.
Can you tell the length of the mardi gras necklace.
Thanks
Dear Beryl, There are 9 strands of varied lengths…..the shortest being approx. 16 1/2 inches long with a 3 inch extender.
Linda baseball jacket–lovely! You mentioned theirs a pointe knit fabric–does it have any stretch to the fabric?
Oops-Linea Baseball jacket-auto correct is a pain… please tell us more about the fabric, does it stretch like regular ponte? There is spandex in description.
Descriptions on QVC Content: 74% polyester/26% cotton, exclusive of decoration. NO spandex mentioned.
Dear CC, there is definitely stretch to this knit fabric. All knits have stretch due to the construction of the material whether they have spandex or not. For the amount of stretch I would compare this jacket to A270903, another ponte fabric. Even though the fiber content isn’t the same they stretch is almost equal. There is certainly enough stretch to this fabric to make it very comfortable. I love it and I think you will too. It has a great hand and a rich look.
Louis I already love it! I been wanting something embroidered from you. For the past couple years I yearned for embroidery and finally the designers are again showing it. This silhouette is perfect. I can tell just by looking at measurements. Just wasn’t sure about fabric stretch/give. Your answer re A270903 was a big help. Watched video and decided to order normal size small.
You know women there’s always something more we want. My next Linea desire is for Asian inspired pieces. With 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games we need some Linea pieces to celebrate.
Can’t believe they’ve shipped my baseball jacket. It’s coming UPS so I’ll probably get it Monday or Tuesday. Will let you know.
Can’t wait for the alabaster ankle pants. Great pant. Also want that Mardi Gras necklace especially after seeing it on Jac. What is the length?
Hi Louis
Two Questions:
You indicated that you are bringing in a slim alabaster pant. Is it the slim ankle style that can be dressier or is it a Leisure style?
Also when will your Mardi Gras necklace be offered?
Dear Joanne…..the pant is the reorder style A265615, the fabric is dressier, but it can be worn for anything dressy or leisure. Instead of bringing back the light Khaki, which is practically sold out [only 2x and 3x left], I decided to bring in Alabaster which seems to be everybody’s favorite.
The Mardi Gras necklace. Is due for delivery in early Feb…..so it could be avail by mid Feb…..I would hope by my show on the 13th at 3pm
Yaaaay!!!!
Louis, I am so excited that you are doing the slim ankle pants in alabaster. I own multiples of all of your A265615 slim ankle pant. Thank you for doing those sensational pants in alabaster.
On another front I just love your new straight leg ponte pants. You have indicated they will not be reordered, which is too bad. I own both lengths in the ponte straight leg in both colors. Regular for heels and petite for lower wedges etc. They are sensational pants that are so flattering and slimming. I wish you and QVC would bring them back in 28 for petites and 32 for regular.
I love the new straight leg ponte pants but had to return all 4 pair due to them being too short. I would purchase them again if they return in at least a 32 inch inseam.
Joanne….I definitely will suggest that!
Louis, the “Mardi Gras” necklace looked even more beautiful to my eye when I saw Jac wearing it today. What a wow!
What a nice surprise to see you and Jac on AM Style this morning! I’d love to hear more about the Mardi Gras Cuff you mentioned.
Dear Ruth…..it’s the Mardi Gras necklace and a new wire cuff. There are many [didn’t count] faceted metal narrow strips that form this wide cuff. It is open in the back, and will come in my 4 basic metal colors silver, gold, chocolate and gunmetal. It works with everything I’m doing and have done….for example the Falling Leaves necklaces in the 4 colors
Sounds lovely. Will it be appearing around the same time as the Mardi Gras necklace?
That is the $64,000.00 question……Now I’m dating myself, but I was a mere child when that program aired.
I think it now has taken on its own meaning and perhaps is known even by those who never saw the show.
Macmillan Dictionary gives this definition-
“a question that is the most important and most difficult to answer concerning a particular problem or situation”
I remember the show, but I, too, was pretty young when it aired.
The cuff is due in April…..It has 27 separate narrow faceted strips of metal!
Thank you, Louis. I’ll be looking for it. Have a wonderful day and enjoy that chicken soup!
Louis is on AM style this morning!
I get my order in 2 days from Harrisberg. From there to Greensboro, NC and the to Wilmington, Nc. Love it.
FYI – Linea Leisure Jacket with Hood A225481 has been posted on Q. There’s a Featured Price and 3 Easy Pays.
WOW Beryl……that was quick! Please leave your comments on the Fashion Forumn, and the reviews on the Linea site….So glad you’ll ever the new Tee
New tee shirts arrived. LOVE the fabric and the parfait pink is a fantastic color.
