LDO, the lace jacket is a stunner. I mean, a total and complete slice of raspberry heaven. If it sells well and the Q allows a reorder next year, may I make a plea for NAVY?
Hello Louis,
I showed remarkable restraint during the April show (which I watched at my desk and risked my job to do so, but it was worth it!) and only bought one item, which was the georgette shirt with matching tank in the new color, white. Now this morning I received an e-mail from QVC, saying I may or may not be receiving this? In any event, it won’t be any time soon. What’s up with this? BTW, I think you, your lovely wife Jac, your pups, and your clothes are all fabulous!
I had high hopes for the chain hoop earrings, but the pierced version pulled my lobes down considerably due to the heavy weight.
Since they are so heavy, I don’t think clips would be any more comfortable.
Any chance of making them lighter?
The caftan dresses are beautiful Louis! I have a couple of questions. What’s the length of this dress? Was that the 36.5″ that you referred to? Where is it supposed to hit? Above the knee? Also, how will this dress look on your shorter curvier ladies? I fear this will only work for the tall and slender… Thanks! BTW, I’ll post this in the Ask Louis section as I’m not sure this is the appropriate spot for questions.
Good morning Louis,
Any plans for matching earrings coming with the new Perfectly Pink and Navy pearl necklaces? There is such a hole in Fashion Jewelry– everywhere I look there is black and gold or black and silver but NEVER navy and gold or silver toned earrings or necklaces or bracelets(not stretch please). Could you please put this request on your ‘I’ll think about this tomorrow’ list? Thanks from all of the navy lovers.
Regards to Jac,
Chris
Dear Chris….I already have the earring samples made…..I’ll do my best to get them bought…..but I can’t promise. Non stretch bracelets are an issue……size becomes difficult and when they aren’t stretch they do not sell as well…..but again I will discuss it.
I second a vote for matching pearl earrings.
Hi Louis and Jac,
Hope you enjoy your trip to Paris and that it is successful.
Wanted to thank you for the great show. I have ordered many beautiful items. I really appreciate the sneak peaks as I am often on travel during your shows and it lets me see the items and order prior to the show.
Glad that the show was a success and that things are looking bright for the future of Linea clothing and jewelry. I have already ordered the new byzantine piece. Unfortunately, the earrings are too large for me. As you go forward with the jewelry, I would appreciate some smaller scale earrings as well.
I ordered the tank (I was greedy and ordered 3 – it is such a whole in my wardrobe), the maxi and shrug in green and black, the morocan print in espresso, the tye-die sweater in blueberry, and the capris in white (stepping out of my comfort zone) Unfortunately, the one I wanted most is the lace jacket I have only on waitlist. Since it was a OTO, it wasn’t available to order at midnight and I was on a plane back from Spain during the show. Hopefully, I will still get mine.
I have already ordered and should receive next week the T-shirt with trim detail in the new colors.
Laura
Dear Laura….if you are speaking of the new Byzantine earring the drops are extra and come off. As a small button earring I think it is perfect and will go with all the Byzantine necklaces and cross.
Hi
I actually meant the chain hoop earrings. I have already planned to order the byzantine earrings as soon as they become available since as you say I can wear the button piece on its own most of the time and then add the drop for night time.
Laura
Hello, Louis-
I am a new Linea lady, and enjoy the pieces I have very much. Apparently, my teenage daughter also likes your work-she keeps “stealing” my boho!
I have a question about the fit of the new maxi dress: is the empire waist relatively low or high? The cut of the floral print maxi is absolutely perfect for my busty figure. How does the placement of the waist on the new maxi compare?
Also, will you be making shrugs or cardigans to coordinate with the floral print and/or new maxi dresses?
Thanks,
Kate
Dear Kate,
Glad to hear your daughter is a Linea admirer too. The Boho is coming in two new colors in July. The new maxi dress measures 13 inches to the top of the band. The previous maxi measures 14 inches to the seam……so the new one is an inch higher. These measurements are for a size xs….so compare your maxi to the 14 inch measurement of the xs. If yours is 14 inches too than if you order the new maxi it will be 13 inches. If your maxi is more than 14 inches add the difference to the 13 inches. I hope I haven’t confused you?
There are no more shrugs or cardigans coming for the season. I hope to add more next year. I think they are much more than a fashion statement. I see a real need for them in women’s wardrobes….especially in the spring/summer. They have become essentials.
I would really like a shrug in white for next year. Navy, Red, Espresso, and Ivory would also be good.
Oh, thank you for that info., Louis! I think the new maxi will work for me, especially since there is some “give” to the fabric. We will definitely be investing in more bohos, so I am looking forward to seeing the new colors.
I absolutely agree that shrugs are warm-weather essentials. I love sundresses, and need some additional coverage to make them appropriate for the office. Not having much of a waist, I feel like a properly-fitted shrug helps in creating the illusion of an hourglass shape.
See you soon!
Hello Louis,
I am eagerly awaiting my clothes. I love it all. I wanted to know if the turquoise multil print skirt, will go with the reef green bolero? I have the black bolero coming, I figured I could wear that the turquoise skirt with black top and black bolero, but if the reef green bolero goes with it that would be nice also Thankyou for all that you do.
I am imagine you already have fall planned so I wondered if there is a new suede jacket in the works. Love the one with the knit sleeves from last fall (I also have the one from years ago!).
Thanks,
DiAnne
Louis, the sneak peeks 🙂
Would you be so kind as to tell the colorways in the prairie skirt coming up?? In the video you mention it would be in 3 colors. And, if you have coordinating tops special for them? I am planning to wear a lot of your clothes when I go on my honeymoon in the Greek Islands in June, and the May show is timed perfectly for me to get my orders home and get them hemmed before we go.
Thank you!
Dear Kristen,
Each skirt has different totally different colored flower so they do look very different from one another. The ground colors are CORAL, NAVY and TURQUOISE all with multi color flowers. I do want to warn you this skirt can only be shortened from the top which is a pull-on elastic. If you shorten it from the bottom you will have to remove an entire tier. A good seamstress can do it without much problem. They would be perfect for the Greek Islands which Jac and I have been to many times…..you will love it.
Perfect! Between the skirt, the blue and brown new maxi and the butter hydrangea print I’ll be one of the best dressed on the ship! Thank you. I do have a pretty good tailor so should not be a problem
It was our own little Woodstock! Instead of 3 Days of Peace and Music, it was 2 hours of Love and Fashion! What a lineup! The clothes were so beautifully presented it was like walking through a buffet of your favorite pastries! What made it even more fun is seeing how much you were enjoying it Louis….all the love and appreciation we have for you. It is richly deserved! So bask in the warmth of your own Pa. festival/buffet and we will see you when you and Jac return from your wonderful trip. Already starting a new list of have to haves…. You are simply THE BEST. 🙂
Jules/Ciley
I didn’t just walk through the buffet. I pigged out!
Louis and Jac,
Great show on Thursday! Can’t wait to get my new Linea items. I have loved the fall/winter items I’ve purchased over the last few months and am thrilled to have Linea coming for spring summer. Also, I’m very excited about the upcoming items, particularly the faux linen suit and the reorder of the floral maxi. I got all of your must haves — the tank, the lace jacket in raspberry and moss, the maxi, the shrug, the crops, and much, much more, including Jac’s out-of-the-box tye dye cardigan in two colors and the shirt dress. Whew! What a show and what a great collection! Thank you for all you do for us. I tell you wearing your clothes has changed my life making me feel so good (comfortable and fashionable). I thought I was confident before but now I’m uber-confident. Have a wonderful trip to Paris and London. My husband and I are heading to Peru in a week and I’m hoping some of those new items arrive in time to pack — to ROLL — in my luggage.
Best to you both,
Julia/Qulia
Hi Louis-
It was a privilige to watch the show and to be able to order you fabulous designs.
I’m eagerly awaiting the new necklace as well as the garments I ordered.
Your good nature, kindness, humor (yes, I “got” your joke!), expertise, and the manner in which you impart your knowledge is simply the best! We are so lucky to be “Linea Ladies”.
The best to you and Jac on your trip. Enjoy your Paris vacation as well as the UK.
Bon Voyage-
Judi
Dear Louis,
Loved your show yesterday. As others have said so eloquently, you are simply the best! Thank you!
I’m thrilled that you’ll be bringing more jewelry to us. Is the white bracelet with several “stones” coming? (It was shown with the mesh blouse.) It is so hard to find quality white summer pieces. I know yours would be perfect.
Thanks again for all you do. Have a wonderful time in Paris.
Carol
Dear Carol…..actually that was not white jewelry that Brenda was wearing…..
…….it was all lucite with silver wires wrapped around each lucite nugget and linking one to the other. She was also wearing lucite drop earrings. You are absolutely right when you say good white jewelry is hard to find. Much of it is too small and dinky and can look very old grandma……it’s on my long list.
Thanks, Louis. I rewatched the DVR of the show. That lucite is stunning. Hope you can bring it to us, along with the fish pendant necklace and earrings–another winner! When will you be on in the UK?
Carol
Dear Carol,
The show is on Sat. May 5th at 1pm and 4pm then home on Sunday.
Dear Louis,
I really enjoyed your show!!! My CC is on fire!! Thank you for the unique designs.
I loved the long amber necklace that Jac was wearing with the moss faux shantung safari dress. I bet it’s from your own collection. Please, may be you will consider and make this necklace with the faux amber beads (plastic beads, acrylic, lucite..). I would buy this necklace in a heartbeat.
Thanks for all that you do, and have a great time with your wife in Paris.
Louis,
I enjoyed every minute of yesterday’s show and of course ordered what will surely be a high tower on my doorstep in a few days. I am thrilled that the Q is starting to order more jewelry. I drool every time I see your presentations – so coordinated without being overly matchy-matchy. I really loved the chandelier earrings that were presented with the tie-dye cardigan, and the necklaces presented with the tile print outfit. If you have a chance to offer similar items through QVC, I’d be first in line. Thanks for all that you do – love to you and Jac!
I do have plans to present those pieces to the QVC buyer for next spring….keep your fingers crossed.
Fingers are crossed! Yippee!
Dear Louis,
I watch every show and totally love your line of clothing & jewelry. Have many pieces which I wear and treasure. A question on the byzantine cross. I read it was back in stock (April 2012), but when I tried to purchase it, got the “no longer available” response. Please bring this cross back. It is so beautiful. Thanks for listening.
Dear Debra….the cross will be back….they got two shipments….one to fill wait list and the other is a reorder…it should be here for June selling.
Hi Louis,
The 48″ multi station necklace is also on waitlist– will this be available in June too?
I anxiously await those earrings from the latest sneak peak.
Regards to Jac,
Chris
Yes Chris it’s all coming in at the end of May for June selling, but if you are on wait list it should be shipped to you first. Again it was so nice to hear your voice!
How odd. Something happened to my computer last evening, and I registered as “anonymous.” The last message was from me, Maria (Goldie76).
Dear Louis,
What a pleasure it was to get to speak to my design idol yesterday! Please forgive my talking “over you,” as I was a mite confused about what I was hearing/seeing and the actual timing of the exchange. Also, I was so excited to speak with you and Albany. Both of you were so wonderfully energetic and fun. Again, about your animal print top, every time I’ve worn it I’ve received admiring eyes. Women want to know where I got it because the piece has a power all its own. And to think that I was shying away from it. I’m excited to see if my different look with the lace jacket and tweed shell also elicits the same sort of positive response. Your creations are what we say/write repeatedly: classy, sophisticated, chic, flattering to many figure types. They make us feel good about ourselves.
Have a safe and profitable trip to Europe! Louis, you’re the man!
Maria
Dear Maria, it’s always a pleasure to hear and speak with one of my ladies. It is sometimes difficult to speak to callers because there is a slight time delay. I guess they do that in case some one says something inappropriate. I once spoke to a caller who was obviously drinking and it was very uncomfortable for me and the host……the point is…..sometimes I find myself speaking over the caller due to this time delay.
Bravo Louis!! I hope the success of yesterdays show may mean larger quantities ordered in the future. Have a wonderful trip to Paris and much success in the UK shows next week.
Dear Louis:
I am so glad to hear that the Hawaiin print maxi is being reordered. Is it possible on the reorder to give us another couple of inches in length, especially on the smaller sizes? Can a designer show us talls some love, too?
Your shows rocked today!
crdlb
Dear Carol…..If it were up to me the answer would be yes, but I’m sure you know the answer to your question already. The dress has to be made exactly as it was presented the first go-a-round for many many reasons….changing a pattern in mid stream would cause countless delays and QVC would never permit any changes to a very successful garment…..in the future I will consider a longer version.
Thank you for your beautiful and unique designs. I receive so many compliments every time I wear any of your creations. The models wore some gorgeous LONG necklaces during your last show and you commented that they would be in your Spring collection. However, I did not see them today. I was particularly attracted to the black jet or onyx long necklaces though all of your jewelry is fabulous! Where can I find them? Do you have a separate website?
With much appreciation of your creativity and for your assistance, Beth
Dear Beth….most of the jewelry I show is from my archives or from a wonderful store in NYC called Jacques Caranagues at 21 Greene Street. My jewelry line for QVC is really just starting so there isn’t too much avail yet and everything that is or will be avail will be on my QVC site.
What a great show! Congrats Louis, two hour shows are wonderful showcases. Clearly this time period is great for you. It allows a whole audience group of women to see you discuss your designs. Albany was chatty…but loved her enthusiasm for your collection!
by the way, I got that last joke…on yourself…and it was quite witty… You and Jac have a great time in Paris….and prayers for warmer weather during your trip!
Thank goodness someone out there got my JOKE…LOL. I thought I was slipping.
Dear Louis and Jac,
What a WONDERFUL show! Your talent and hard work really shine in these garments. I ordered lace jackets, windowpane jackets, crop pants, 2 tiered skirt, new tank … did I forget anything … so many sell outs; that’s fantastic for you. As for me, I’m off to start that Cinnamon Roll and Sticky Bun dough I said I’d owe Walter after all these new clothes for me LOL …
Safe and happy trip home,
Cathy in PA
Louis, I have been buying your clothes for years. I decided it was time that I told you how much I love all of your clothes. I am a professional woman soon to retire. However, today on QVC I could not resist buying 2 lace jackets, the maxi dress and bolero, and the new tank and a pair of pants. I did this all while my husband was not here. However, he loves all of the outfits that I buy from you.Thank you and your wife for being such classy people and for providing us such lovely,one-of-a- kind items. I appreciate it so much.
Hi–I am a long-term fan of your designs. I really need white pants, and wonder if you’re going to offer the pull on pebble pants in petite. I hate leaving 5–6 inches of fabric on the alterations floor, as well as constantly having to pull uppants so the crotch doesn’t look “droopy”. Thanks, Denise
Dear Denise,
I hate to disappoint you but there aren’t any other white pants avail. or coming for this spring/summer season. I hear you and believe me when I say I am always asking the buyer….”can we do these_______ in petite and tall sizes”. It means a lot more money invested in a single item, so they are hesitant. I will keep pushing……Louis
Hello Louis,
Just a brief note to tell you that in my opinion your designs are the classiest, most sophisticated and refined designer items on Q. I just love them!!! Thank you for making them available to us.
Hope to see the lace jacket with pockets back again before the end of the summer. I tuned in late and the green wasn’t available in my size.
Kate
What she said!
X3. Amazing show today.
Good morning, not sure if you will see this before the show today, but some of us are wondering on the fit of the new crops vs the old crops which had numbered sizes. Should we purchase the ones closest to the numbered size ones we already own? Another question– do these crops have the same fit as the piped pants that you had last summer that had a matching piped jacket?
Have a great time today! Lots of sell outs!
Dear Chris…..sorry for not having gotten back to you…..I can receive e-mails on my I-Pad but can’t send? It was a real kick speaking to you yesterday. I really love hearing from all the women but especially the ones I correspond with!
Louis,
Hello! I have a dear friend that has been influenced by my wardrobe, and has started to buy your pieces. She’s a busy executive with no time for blogging, stalking, etc. I sent her a heads-up this morning about all the lovely new items that will be available tomorrow. As I was instructing her where to look for sneak peeks and item numbers in the blog, I found that some of the items have disappeared (not even in archives). Example is the safari dress. Can you bring them back? Thanks – looking forward to tomorrow!
I’m not Louis, but if you type “safari” in the search screen, you will see all the safari styles: shirts, jersey tops, and the safari dress. I hope this helps.
Dear Susan….they are all there……above the first sneak peek on the page…to the left you will see the word “Older” click it and the second page will come up with the “missing” sneak peeks including the safari dress…..Louis
Louis…… I love your clothing and your jewelry. Recently I received your new dress with the tarnished metal beading trim. For several seasons I have been noticing a lot of tarnished metal necklaces, but a real shortage in earrings. Most of them are drop earrings and somewhat busy. I would love to find a bold, simple hoop in tarnished gold look about and inch to one and a quarter inch and very chunky……… Simple elegance to wear with the tarnished gold look…….. Maybe this would be an inspiration for the future. …….. It was hard finding an earring to go with the dress and I have other necklaces that I would like a simple earring ……. Thanks
Dear DeLois,
I can well understand your difficulty in finding earrings with a tarnished patina as buyers don’t really want them. They feel it is a very limited audience [not just QVC but all retailers], and they would rather buy silver, gold, rose gold and hematite [gunmetal]. I do know there is a need for these burnished colors of brass, copper and oxidized silver….I will certainly work on something, but no promises…………..Louis
Louis,
I was just doing a “drive-by” of your sneak peeks from the last several months, and I have to ask (beg) if the Byzantine earring might be offered earlier than the scheduled May/June date. Perhaps this Thursday, April 26? Oh my, but that one is rich and gorgeous. You know, I can imagine Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis picking up that particular earring.
Dear Maria…..I don’t like to disappoint you,but I was told end May/June would be the earliest the Byzantine earring would be ready for selling…that said you never know. I think I read that the hoop earring is already avail….so maybe it will be earlier…..Louis
Bonsoir! Your Pucci-inspired top prompted me to suggest a boutique in Paris that you may wish to visit . . . Souleiado . . . located at 78 rue de Seine in the 6th, near Blvd Saint-Sulpice and Blvd Saint Germain. Pick up a new tablecloth or simply enjoy looking at the beautiful Souleiado fabrics. You’ll also find other fabric boutiques in that area of Paris. Enjoy!
TourEiffel
Thank you for the suggestion!
A222262 Maxi Dress is beautiful! Would you please consider bringing it to QVC in chocolate brown/white and navy/white?
Dear Jean,
if it becomes a reorder next year I certainly would consider those colors.
I ordered all three of the maxi dresses. It is beautiful dress and it is so omfortable for the warmer days. I really enjoy wearing it and wish I could wear it everyday, but I feel I can’t wear all three in the same week or two. My suggestion would be a different print in this same dress. I prefer blues and lavenders and ivory for summertime.
Louis, just wanted to drop in here and tell you I have the orchid maxi and I don’t look like a giant flower. 🙂 I thought outside my comfort zone and I am pleasantly surprised. Can’t wear it yet, a little chilly in Chicago right now, but it’s lovely. I think it will be pretty and cool in the hot Summer days ahead. Thank you.:)
Hi Louis – any chance of a cowl neck coming anytime soon — I’d love one in either the WK or the Cashmere blend! Any color(s) pretty much – turtlenecks just don’t work for me but I love cowl neck tops/sweaters… any sleeve length works — I love sleeveless ones and of course LS for winter!
I also prefer cowl necks. I vote for Suzzee’s suggestion.
Louis, I just got your stunning Zebra Jacquard Button Front Jacket A89785. WOW! Tag says cold wash gentle, drip dry. I wash all washable Linea cold on a hand wash cycle. Sometimes you suggest we dry clean your jackets instead — is this one of the jackets that should not (ideally) be washed?
Thanks for the info, and your beautiful clothes!
Dear Charlotte…..because this is a cotton blend…..after a while the water breaks down the fiber…..and because it is a jacquard where there are satin and matte areas….I would dry clean it for a longer life. Jac has this jacket in the White, Aqua, Mocha and Navy and she dry cleans them at the end of the season.
Dear Louis,
Your black kimono arrived yesterday and I adore it! I had it on waitlist and the order was finally fulfilled – lucky me. The embroidery is beautiful and the jacket looks like it costs a fortune! It will be one of my go to pieces forever. Will your new dress, A223658, in black look good with it?
Looking forward to seeing you & Jac at the end of the week and doing plenty of shopping,
Dariann
It’s always tricky mixing blacks…..I think the kimono may be too much for most women with the maxi dress……it’s all about attitude.
Thanks Louis – I’ll give it a try with some great ethnic necklaces.
Louis, I thought I heard you mention that you would be bringing back your tank with the gold trim in April. Several years ago I bought the white tank with gold trim and love, love, love it! Hoping that this is what you will bring back — if not now perhaps later? Thank you.
Lisa 🙂
Dear Lisa,
The tank with the metallic trim was not reordered. What is coming back in “MAY” is the short sleeve scoop neck T-shirt in the same cotton knit with the same metallic piping: Ivory/Gold, Black/Gunmetal and Frosted Lilac/Silver.
Thank you Louis! I will be looking for this T-shirt in May!!
Lisa 🙂
Think it’s already available…
I just saw them. Got the Black and the Ivory.
Lisa 🙂
I know how hard it is to describe colors…but I am going to ask anyway. How dark is the coral lace cardigan? Is it the darker of the pictures or more like the lighter? Love the “moss” but that coral looks so cool and fresh.
The color is actually called “Terracotta” and it is the darker shade not the paler………….Louis
Dear Louis,
The XS denim pant fit perfectly for me, so I’m thinking the XS in the new crop pant is what I should order–am I right? Thank you–really looking forward to the show.
Barbara
Dear Barbara…..your guess is probably better than mine. I would say if you fit in the xs denim you should get the xs in the crop pant. That’s the size I pot on the models….some like Brenda take the xxs.
I’m going with the XS. I’m so glad to know that the new earrings aren’t heavy. I should be fine with the pierced version.
I also wanted to mention that over the past couple of months I have invested in many of your pieces. As so many others have stated, your garments are quality and classic with a lot of panache! It is really fun to put together outfits and have everything working so well. Your styling tips on this site are very helpful. Thanks for all you do.
Barbara
Hi Louis,
I’m in the process of changing out my closets to spring/summer and in packing away the fall/winter, there is a big HOLE in my wardrobe in the form of an olive pencil skirt. I know there was one planned at one time, but I somehow missed it. Is there any hope of an olive pull-on knit pencil skirt in the future?
Bringing out the “new” wardrobe is so exciting. Every Linea piece I take out of the boxes puts a smile on my face. Can’t wait for the April/May shows!
crdlb
Dear Carol….the hole in your wardrobe will be filled. The olive knit pull-on pencil skirt will be here this year.
Yippeeee!!! Will it be offered in both the short and the long versions?
No, the long version did not do well so it will not be reordered….sorry
Well darn on the long ones. Guess I’d better get back-ups before they’re gone. I’m not tall and I love the longer version. Shucks
That is GREAT news! I’ve certainly done my share of whining about that. I tried another designer’s olive skirt (in desperation) and it just didn’t work. That’s the beauty of your line–you take the “work” out of coordinating pieces in our wardrobes. I’m thrilled!
Yippee!! I really could use an olive pencil skirt!
Thank you, thank you!!! I NEED this skirt!
Hmmmm, I also NEED a WK navy and dark brown t-neck…please?????????????
Dear Judi…..I don’t have them in the WK but the dark brown is in my silk/cashmere blend and I will be adding navy and ivory this coming fall season in the same silk/cashmere yarn.
YES!!!!!
Sooo…the silk/cashmere lives on. Very nice.
Yes…..It lives on to see another day….frankly….I was pleasantly surprised. I really thought they had let it go and it’s good to see them reordering higher priced quality pieces.
Wonderful! It’s so hard to find navy in winter, I don’t understand why it’s seen in Spring and not as much in winter.
For some reason black has become fall/winter and navy spring/summer. I like both colors all year.
I’m definitely in for duplicates! Finding great navy is like finding the Holy Grail! Although I have tons of black, I feel navy is more flattering for me. Ivory is a given.
BTW, of course I have the pebble crepe navy top.
I have to admit, I desecrated your navy top with the matte gold balls (I had two). Very carefully, I cut each and every gold ball off….voila, I have a navy top in a great material! And, I kept the gold balls and have used it to make a fantastic faceted onyx and matte “gold” bead multi strand necklace 🙂
I hope this puts a smile to your face and not a frown.
Regards-
Judi
Dear Judi….now you have a one of a kind sweater and necklace!
No way! I have the black and the red but am DYING for the navy and ivory. Hands down the best, most flattering tneck I own. This is huge news I can use! Will be buying doubles just in case.
Kate,
If you love these it’s a good idea to get doubles of these classic colors. You never know if it will be reordered. I was very surprised when the buyer asked me for two new colors for this item. I really thought it had been retired…….Glad you like the hoops….Louis
I bought five black turtlenecks and five gold crosses for Christmas presents to media industry girlfriends and I had the best feedback ever. So, this time around I will be buying the navy in bulk and combining it with (I think–unless you give me a better idea) the chain hoops in rose for the holiday gift season. The thing about that particular turtleneck is that it is the ideal weight to layer under a cardigan or jacket in the Northeast, but warm enough to wear alone or with a light shawl in LA. Good to see that the Q understands there is a market for the finer things (at a bargain price–I think we all know that turtleneck would be 300.00+ anywhere else).
Kate…glad to hear you were a hit with your Christmas gifts to your friends. I think your choice of the navy turtleneck it perfect, but I would mix up the colors of the earrings….gold for one, silver another, rose gold for another…..just in case their paths should ever cross……….LDO
So, are there reorder colors coming back? the black? the red?
Dear Sherry….that’s a good question….one that I partially can’t answer. I know the red hasn’t been reordered or the java brown but I’m not sure about the black. They usually reorder at least one of the old colors….the black would make the most sense since that is the only one left….but I’m not sure.
What a great surprise! Love the brown and black ones I have. Missed the red, darn it!
How does this one fit compared to the wn t-neck?
Dear Sherry….I believe it is smaller, has some shape and follows the line of the body…..Kate, since you own so many…..give Sherry some advise……Louis
Sherry, I wear an xs in whisperknit but a small in the sil/cashmere. It is definitely more form fitting particularly on the bust and sleeves.
Thanks for the info, Kate, appreciate your time.
I, too, missed the red and am always watching eBay hoping one will magically appear. I have several of the WK turtlenecks in red but there’s nothing like the feel of cashmere! Maybe QVC will someday realize just how much money they are leaving on the table…
I think you should start a POST….”Please bring back A…….. in red, many of us missed it….many of us want it”. You never know.
Any measurements I can compare to.
I could probably fit into a S or M. Do they have elastic?
Any info would be appreciated – your things sell out so quickly
The pant has a full elastic back and a partial elastic front.
Are the crops pants on the narrow leg or wide leg side?
I absolutely love the georgette tank & top – purchased in black & white.
You are a fantastic designer & so helpful answering our questions.
Thank You
Dear njlady….I’m assuming you are talking about the new cotton sateen pant in white, black and navy…..they are on the narrow leg side.
Hi Louis,
From your description in a sneak peak, you said that the new crop pants “A223938 …. have a 24 inch inseam with a 7 inch bottom opening…….I would classify them as a SLIM LEG pant.” Was 7 a typo and you mean 17 inch or double the 7 inch (total 14 inch) for an XS and then goes up about 3/4 inch per size? Sorry to bother you with these detailed questions, but this measurement is critical for us Plus Size gals! Many thanks!
Jane
Dear Jane,
When I give a leg opening measurement it is always with the pant flat on table, so that is not the total measurement. The total would be 14 inches. I can say what the size of the plus pant would be because from size 1X and up. The clothes are fit on a different model. She is a 1X and from her pattern it is graded up. So it is not graded from a small [the fit model size for missy] to a plus size. It would not be correct to fit only a small on a model and then grade to a 3x. Plus sizes have their own model, their own fit and their own grading so they are more accurate……Louis
Great
any measurements of an item i can look at – so they don’t sell out before i order.
Thanks – I am probably between a small or medium on the bottom – do they have elastic?
Unfortunately there isn’t any crop pant that is avail that I can tell you to look at as a reference….they are all long gone…..
Louis,
I have in my notes from an earlier answer you posted that A215181 Short Sleeve Tee with the metallic trim at the neckline and on the sleeves would be in April as a reorder and a new color (black?). I’m working on my shopping list for your show (and my budget, LOL). Will this tee be available then, or has it been rescheduled? I was able to snag two colors when it first aired. A great item for the wardrobe! (Of course, you know me…wish it was an inch longer… but still a fantastic little T). I love the fabric of your tees. I also have the embellished one (orange with white stones) Will there be some more tees this summer?
Dear Deborah….the piped T shirt will be on my MAY show, ivory/gold, frosted lilac/silver and black/hematite. I do not have any Ts coming in this fabric this year, I will probably do some for next spring/summer.
I was hoping to get the look of a denim jacket over a dress with something much lighter than a full jacket and bolero is the perfect word for what I was thinking. Being that small would make it cool enough for us Southerners, especially in your lightweight denim. (We do spend most of our time in the air conditioning) Also, I know you would make it look like something we have never seen before. Just something for the wishlist! Thanks for the answer on the dress/cardi. 🙂
Dear Louis,
Last year I purchased your crinkle georgette shirt with shell, A214117, in both black and sage. I just received the white and adore it so much that I just placed an order for a second one. This shirt is bound to be a sellout. I do have a request for next year – can you design some beautiful georgette slacks in white and black to go with these tops. You know, something like Katharine Hepburn would wear to a dinner party?
Thanks,
Dariann
Sounds pretty….in the same crinkle georgette?
YES, YES, YES1
wow – what a great idea! They’d be cool as a cucumber!
Hi Louis, I have a couple of questions, please. The wood jewelry on the sage shirt and tank in sneak peak 8; is it from Yvonne or is there somewhere else to source it from? The other question, I plan on wearing the Moroccan shirt tied; should I plan on sizing up to have a better tied effect? I know that one will be hard; so I thought I would get some advice.
I have received jewelry from Yvonne recently; it really does make all the difference in the way an outfit looks to have the finishing pieces. Thanks for all your help.
Dear Sherry there are two necklaces in the picture and they are both from Yvonne. The single bead necklace is new the multi bead with the black beads isn’t, but she may still have it. I don’t think you have to size up. My sample is XS and on my XS mannequin there was plenty to tie….or else it can become to thick……..Ask Yvonne to look at the sneak peek so she knows which necklaces you are talking about. You will have to give her the info as I don’t think she has seen my web site.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Hi Louis,
I’m wondering if the new lime/blue sweater goes with the upcoming jade maxi? Regardless, I intend to get both but I’m dying to know if they match. Also, would you ever consider doing a shrug in a lightweight denim? I love the look of a denim jacket over a maxi dress but they are just too HOT for Texas! Thanks Louis and these new pieces are so original, chic, and just to die for! I can’t wait until the 26th!
Thanks,
Jules/Ciley 🙂
Dear Jules,
The dress and the cardigan are really two very different colors. I would always consider doing almost anything…..but….question, if they are too hot for Texas why would you want one? If it’s in real denim or in a weight like I just did …it would be more like a bolero. I think this show , if everything goes as planned, is goi9ng to be one terrific show….jammed packed!
I assume (you know what they say when you assume) that the tie dyed sweater in blueberry/lime would work with the limeade sateen jacket? BTW, I wish the jacket would return in the lilac. Thanks
Dear Carol….you should never assume…..however, in this case they do work. The color of the jacket is a little brighter than the sweater but they are the same cast of lime….they look good together.
Dear Louis,
Your upcoming lace jacket is marvelous!
I wonder if I should go with an XS or a S; could you give me an indication if it runs small or big. If it’s of any help, I’m an XS in your animal print safari blazer (A214115) as well as in your sateen limeade blazer (A213623). In your printed sweaters I’m a S, though.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
All best,
Birdie
Dear Birdie….from what you have said I would think the XS, unless you have broad shoulders and a full bust…….it’s really impossible for me to tell how a garment is running as I only get the samples in XS. I would say from that it is running true to size.
Yes….my mistake!
Hi Louis,
Please forgive me, but I’m a little confused. In the “April Sneak Peek#9”, you’ve said “…take a note of the Tank under the Espresso shirt, it’s A224279 new tank and it is made in a very special yarn”. Did you mean A224278 the tweed tank?
Thank you for clarifying this for me.
Hello Louis,
I love all the sneak peaks and am trying to narrow my list. I wanted to buy the orange lace jacket, and 1 color of the crop pants. Which color of the crop pants would work best with the orange lace jacket? Ok would you not recommend the crops with it at all? Thankyou for your input.
The colors of the crops really do not work with the jacket. I don’t really like the styles together. The jacket needs a softer pant.
Louis – You are a genius. Just received the A214117 tank & top – gorgeous. Never would have ordered both colors except for all the great reviews. Its perfect & I know I will wear a ton this summer.
My questions are:
1) Are all you tanks similar in sizing ?- This fit perfectly in the midruff area and under the arms.
Is the new tank you are showing higher in the front ? I like a little lower cut
2) How do you suggest we take out all the tags – they are a distraction
Dear njlady…….Good Morning,
To cut tags out of the garments I get a very sharp small scissor and cut the label as close to the stitching as possible….then I carefully fray away the remaining threads. Jac hates labels at her neck and is always asking me to remove them….unfortunately they are a necessary thorn.
I would say out fabric tanks are pretty much the same since we always fit on the same production model for missy and plus. The style may change but the fit should be very similar. That is the same for knit tanks.
I would say the neckline is similar to the fall WK tank. The lower I go the more returns I get!!I will sketch one for next summer with a lower neckline.
Thanks for the response.. I will get my scissors ready.
I was looking at A221797 – ribbed tank. The dimensions in the medium were smaller. Would you still go with
the medium? My weight is in the middle section?
Is the neckline about the same?
I’m not sure about the neckline but I think they are about the same. I would stay with the med. Everyone seems to like the fit and if you go larger I think you will run into armhole problems. When you say they were smaller….smaller than what? if you mean the tank under the shirt you will often find measurements of a knit, especially a tank are smaller. That is because they stretch so much more.
Dear Louis,
I want to thank you for the great designs and really appreciate the Sneak Peaks. Once again I will be out of the country for your show. It is great to know what is coming so that I can order prior to the show and know what will work for me and what the item numbers are. I will of course still DVR the show to see how everything is styled for even more ideas.
My list for the show:
A223655 Moroccan Tile Shirt Espresso
A223656 Moroccan Tile Skirt Espresso
A224278 Gorgeous Tank (Qty 3)
A223652 Lace Jacket in moss – I absolutely love this jacket
A223658 Maxi Dress – Black, Reef Green – I know I will have to shorten (only 5′)
A223660 Shrug – Black, Reef Green to mix/match
A223654 Tie Die Sweater in Blueberry/Lime – who can resist.
Once again – thank you for making yourself and your clothes accessible for all of us. It is really appreciated.
Louis,
I teach at a junior high near Seattle, and I cannot begin to count the compliments I receive when I wear your clothes; as an XL-1X, the variety and quality you provide truly is outstanding! For what I have paid for one jacket at Nordstrom, I can usually get several ensembles (always of comparable quality.) Thank you so much for giving me the ability to no longer depend on the “clearance” rack! Please keep the sneak peeks coming, as I use them to help budget future purchases.
Now, if only it did not take an eternity for your items to arrive…….
The juxtaposition of putting something very dressy (lace) next to something more casual(tweed) is pure genius. You did it again. Can’t wait to see this jacket.
Dear Louis,
I’ve a couple questions for you:
1. Could you tell me please if A221797(tank top in pale sand) will go with your stunning lace cardigan/jacket?
2. I have a blond hair, gray eyes, and white pale skin, and I just can’t decide between Moss(mint) and Raspberry lace jackets. Which color would you suggest for my complexion?
Also, I would like to express my appreciation. I just received your denim jackets and pants (white and black), and I love them. I already gone back for more pants: indigo and black in size XXS. Please, would you consider and make denim pants with a slim leg (from the same fabric) for next spring?
Thank you so much for your suggestions.
Hi Inna,
The sand color does work with the lace jackets but, the sand faux de chine tank is much longer. If that doesn’t bother you….and you already own then….you should definitely try it. With your coloring, honestly, both the moss and the raspberry will look good and I’m sure they are both colors you don’t own much of….so….flip a coin. I would love to do a slim pant in the denim, but I promised, if I can, first a pencil skirt….maybe I can do both?……Louis
OOh! both would be fabulous.
What she said!
Pencil Skirt AND Slim Pant for me … and as those are seasonless garments, Q should not wait a whole year to return to inventory. Ladies, lets’ make our wishes known over on the forum.
Cathy in PA
I’m with ya!
Pencil skirt and slim pant!
Thank you Louis for your suggestions and I would love to have both the slim pant in the denim and a pencil skirt.
Dear Louis,
Could you recommend a red top or cami that will go with the floral cotton sateen jacket (red)…I can’t find a red that works. My reds are too tomato looking…I need more of a cherry red. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you!
Dear Carla….I don’t have any red tanks coming at all. If you can’t find one then you should contrast the jacket with white, black, navy etc and do all red accessories. You could even try a color tank with an ivory bottom….just keep the accessories red and it will work.
Louis, I’m loving the new A224278 tweed tank. On the form, it looks short. What is its length? Since I’m 5’9″ and long waisted, I am sure hoping this one runs the length of Fall’s whisper knit tanks. The ones you did this spring for the crepe jacket were too short for me to order, or I would have purchased them in every color. I love how your tanks are modest in the fit under the arm. I can shed a jacket at work and feel confident that I still look professional.
Dear Deborah….it is 21 inches so it is shorter than my other tank. It was done at this length so it works with the lace jacket. I don’t think the problem for you is your height….it’s being long waisted that could cause you not to like it on. It hits at the high hip as you can see from the photo.
Dear Louis,
I know that I will be ordering your new maxi dress A223658 in black. Would you recommend the new Moroccan tile print shirt A 223655 to wear with it as a shirt/jacket and if so,in which color?
Thanks,
Dariann
HI……the answer to your question is..why not? First, the coloration the works the best with the black is definitely the turquoise. I think you have to play with how you want to wear them together……just loose and open or open and tied slightly above the waist…which I prefer. Also…..another suggestion for a totally different look…..if you have one of the pastel cardigans with the black lace emb…….they would work as a cover up too.
Dear Louis,
You suggested that I try the Petite Medium on the pants, A222269.
I just wanted to let you know it was a great idea and is a great short length.
I don’t have to take them up at all and the fit is perfect.
Thanks for having such beautiful clothes and inventive ways of making sure we can all enjoy them!
At least now you know how a petite pant will look on you LOL
Hi,
Could you tell me if you would wear other color tanks under the A214117 .
Just to add color – I ordered the black and the white one already.
Thanks for your design opinion.
Can’t wait to receive – they received so many great reviews.
Absolutely,
Just because we offer a matching tank doesn’t mean you shouldn’t experiment with colors. I think both shirts would look great with other colors under them with the accessories pulling it together. Remember they are sheer. especially the white, so any color you wear will show through…..which I don’t mind at all…..actually I like to see the color showing through.
Louis-
I think I remember reading, many months ago, something you said about a tank top in tan with flecks of black…..unless I’m dreaming! Is this the tank you pictured with the new espresso skirt? It looks fabulous and so versatile. I was wondering, could this tank top be worn with the paisley skirt with the black sweater w/ lace embroidery?
Judi….you have a GOOD eye! They look great together….as if they were made to go together. This little tank will only come in this one color and it will go with lots and lots of things now and going forward. I will have a special sneak peek on just the tank because that’s how important I think it is. I would recommend getting two! I will be surprised if I get any airtime on the tank….that’s why I’m doing the sneak peak. For all the natural linen and flax linen lovers….this is a great tank. I will also have an incredible un-constructed suit in July that you would swear is flax linen but it’s 100% poly as is this sweater. By the way….when I was looking at the “lace” sweater with the tank it was near the new black/ecru maxi floral dress and I loved them together……a little funky but some how the flowers of the lace and the flowers of the dress worked together…….a very unexpected boutique kind of look…………Louis
I like a little funky sometimes; I’ll have to try the lace cardi with the maxi. Hadn’t thought of that one…thanks Louis
Oh, I hadn’t thought of wearing my Black Lace Sweater as a little sweater shrug with my Maxi dress either; what a wonderful idea; THANKS!
Cathy in PA
Louis-
Thank you for your detailed explination. Yes, I will be getting 2 of these tanks, for sure! I have multiples of some of the WK’s also (olive, black & aubergine T necks and V necks).
Great minds must think alike (LOL!). Yesterday I tried on the black/ecru maxi with the “lace” sweater and it looks great! I had been fooling around w/ the sweater and paisley skirt trying to imagine the new tank with it.
I’ll wait eagerly for the SP of the tank, also will look forward to the flax/linen look. Wow, a linen/flax look without the wrinkles!
Regards
Judi
Louis, I apologize if this has already been asked, but how long will we have to wait for a re-order of the denim pants?
Dear Jeanie…you are very cute…you brought a smile to my face!It takes 3 months for QVC to decide if it is even eligible to be reordered. First, they wait to what the returns are…..if they are with in their guidelines they will consider it for next year 2013.
Darn!!! I had a feeling it would be a long time. I bought them (the pants) in all three colors in the regular length and now want them in petites to wear with my flats! I managed to get one pair in a petite length before they sold out and was wondering how long it will take for the Q to restock. I’m sure returns will be minimal so that shouldn’t be an issue. Now just to TRY to be patient ’till next year :-/ These are absolutely the BEST jeans!!! LOVE!!! I got the jacket too in indigo which I adore as well and would pick it up in the white too if it was available, and that’s saying a lot since I live in south Texas where it’s already feeling like summer.
I wore the indigo (petite) jeans today with the ivory status print top to Wal-Mart today and felt like a million bucks. WAY overdressed but like a million bucks none-the-less.
Thanks again for such wonderful clothes! Now, if I just had somewhere besides Wal-Mart to wear them 😉
Overdressed for Wal-Mart…….maybe you’ll start a trend…..!LOL
Hey Louis,
Would A213625 tank top with ruffle trim in limeade go with your sage zipper jacket, A213327? Thanks for bringing this jacket/blazer back. Also, will the zipper jacket be coming back in black (or navy perhaps)? I love your clothes, Louis! Requests: I got your denim jacket in navy, A222543 which looked fantastic from the front. I’ve been looking for a tailored dressy denim blazer in dk navy for years. However, the pleated peplum in back did not work for me. It puffed out like a bustle over my rear. Please do this jacket with a straight back like your other jackets or with a kick pleat. I was heart broken. Also, would love to see you do the A89794 ruffle blouse in red/white again and would love to see your fabulous turtleneck sweaters done as a v-neck sweater. Thanks!
Dear ElleMC,
It’s not that I didn’t like the colors together….for me the ruffle at the neckline of the tank and all the zippers bothered me….but that’s me. I like the limeade much better with the olive brushed cotton jacket with the zip pockets. The A213327, was originally in black but was not reordered for some reason. If this jacket should be reordered….navy would be a good choice. The A, does come in black and it has been reordered in the black, olive and the new PEACOCK, a rich deep teal, and all three look great with the limeade tank. I will keep in mind your suggestion about the denim jacket style with a plain back. I doubt that “they” would buy two jackets so similar in denim, but maybe in the brushed cotton…..The A89794 is a discontinued style. Have you tried the A217629 V-neck sweater in the Whisper knit yarn as the turtleneck? It sold out in a flash and will be coming back this fall in all of the original colors. Everyone loved it and it is a true classic……..Louis
Louis,
What is the item A-number for the clothing item you spoke of in your reply that comes in black, olive and the new Peacock? Love the color peacock or any blue or gray-based green more than yellow-based greens. Sounds great! I have an hourglass figure, so I really appreciate the way you design your jackets, shirts and sweaters to curve in at the waist to accentuate my smallest part. I also appreciate long sleeves that can be adjusted and turned up since I have shorter arms and your petite length pants. Thank you for your quick response! You are as classy and fabulous as your clothes!
It is A216528, and it is coming in July as part of my early fall transition group. You can look at the comments on the Linea site by typing the style # in the search box.It a terrific jacket in all three colors. I will also have the reorder short sleeve , jewel neck sweater in the cotton blend to match…………..Louis
