    Dear Louis,

Thanks for keeping me company at 4am in PA while I tried to work my way through a frustrating computer problem LOL … It was such a nice treat to see all those super secret sneak peeks!!! My favorite was that houndstooth skirt; can’ WAIT to hear more about that ,.. WOW!

Hope you were able to get some sleep; see you and Jac this afternoon at 4 again,

    Cathy in PA

    Hi Louis,

Re: A227581 (safari jacket), what is the fabric composition breakdown of the new super fine twill please? Thank you!

  3. Kate

I want to update my calendar. Do you have dates and times for your September shows (and where is the jewelry?!)

  4. Birdie

    Dear Louis,

    Trust you’re wonderful.
Will you be doing a “winter” maxi dress (w/ long sleeves) this season? Any news on the safari vest for next spring?

Looking forward to seeing you tom 🙂

    Best,
    Birdie

    1. Kate

Winter maxi–what a great idea! I would love a long sweater dress made from whisper knit.

      1. Sherry

        Count me in.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Birdie….no maxi dressed, but I will be doing maxi skirts….more low calk….not quite to the ankle unless your petite, with matching tops for a “dress look”. For most this will be easier tom get the right size and fit.
Sorry no vests were chosen…..but I’ll keep sketching them!

      1. Birdie

Thanks, Louis! What fabrics will you be using for the skirts & tops? I got your antique gold & antique silver maxi skirts & tops last year and have been wearing them ever since. Truly gorgeous fabric, esp. in the summer I must say.
I’m thrilled to see you do pleated skirts! Will be ready to shop on Monday… for a lot of Linea items. This collection has been outstanding so far. Many thanks for bringing such grace and elegance to the world.
And yes, please keep sketching those safari vests. I bet they’d sell out in a heartbeat.

  5. Theresa

    Greetings from Washington State,

Help! It’s back to school shopping time, and you have so much to offer that I am actually confused….I love basics with an edge, and am trying to purchase fewer black pieces; my skin tone is caramel, do you think the feather print would work? Once a student asked if all of my clothes were dark, and I realized that I had worn black items every day for the entire month! Budget is about $1000. Any suggestions, I adore your clothing line and jewelry.
Thank you for thinking of professionals on a budget.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Theresa…..I think the feather print will be beautiful on you. I would suggest the mushroom, but it would help to know your hair color. I would also suggest you load up on the whisper knit sweaters. This will give you both variety in style and COLOR. They are comfortable to work in and easy to wash. There will be at least 7 styles coming not including the long sleeve V-neck and turtleneck on my Aug 6th show. Do not be afraid of color…..for instance the mallard blue would be beautiful on you and the “students will LOVE it. You could get the v-neck sweater in mallard worn with the white cotton shirt or the black crew neck short sleeve sweater under it with a black bottom. Also another good way to make many “looks” is by layering….different color sweaters…..don’t be afraid of color! I’m always here to help during the season……………………Back to school…..even at my age it gives me a knot in my stomach….LOL

  6. Madalena

    Hello Louis!

I am very much looking forward to the safari pant and jacket – do you know on what date and time they will air/become available?

Thanks so much for all you do!

  7. Marcia

    Hi Louis
Making my list- and lining up items and ordering dates. Can you let me know if you have a date/show for the Herringbone jacket? The schedule sounds crazy- and if you don’t know- I will just check daily!
    Thanks
    Marcia

  8. Toni Fisher

Well Louis, this is it. GOLD MEDAL TIME. I wish you the VERY BEST is the kickoff of your Fall collection – my t-necks have already shipped – we will be cheering you on. GO TEAM DELL OLIO. tONI

  9. Parisa

    Hi Louis.
I am enjoying seeing the sneak peeks–my must have list is getting longer! Will there be any other sweaters in the mushroom other than the T-neck? Thanks for all you do for us.
    Parisa

  10. Dariann

    Dear Louis,

Count me in for the fish earrings and necklace if QVC will bring them to us.

    Dariann

  11. Debbie

Hi Louis, Did you ever get an answer about the fish necklace? Also, will you be bringing back the whisper knit turtleneck in navy? I missed out last year.
    thanks,
    Debbie

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No Navy….only in the silk/cashmere blend. The fish is being sampled, but that is no guarantee that it will be bought.

  12. Anonymous

I would love to see the faux de chine pants on navy and sage for the “other ” safari jackets

  13. Karen B

    Mr. Dell’Olio,

Do you plan on getting in more of Stretch Cotton Leopard Print Jacket? I would like an XL in the brown multi.

    Thank you!
    Karen B.

  14. Grits

Hello, Louis! With all the fall planning, I just made a wonderful discovery. I’ll be able to wear the tile print boho in expresso multi (A223656) with the beautiful plush jackets (A3505) in orchid and spice from a few years ago. Did you have that in mind?

I can’t wait for the details on the new safari pant suit sneak peek you just posted. Love it!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Grits…..a wonderful discovery indeed. To answer your question, no I did not plan that they should work together. What happens is this…… I have very specific likes and dislikes. To exaggerate the point….you will never [never say never] see me do neon colors. The colors I chose usually compliment one another so eventually something I have designed 5 or 6 years ago will work beautifully with something brand new which extends and gives new life to the older garment. Another example of this is the pomegranate and straw tanks I did a few years ago. I discovered that they work beautifully with the Chili Pepper and Straw items on my July 31st show….it wasn’t planned. That’s why I say to collect tanks and sweaters they will always mix and match with the new things coming.

  15. Jules/Ciley

    Hi Louis,
I had to write and tell you that I almost started crying when I saw the peek of the new dress today. It has probably been 15 years since I wore a real dress and this one is going to be mine. For years I haven’t been able to stand to look at my arms or legs but this dress and tights will cover everything I hate and still make me look and feel like a lady again. I’m sure some people would think it is silly but I know you understand how personal and emotional it is for a woman to want to still feel beautiful no matter what her age or condition of her body. I’ve got a closet full of wonderful pants, jackets, blouses, and sweaters, most of them yours, but I see women in beautiful dresses all the time and wish it could be me. Until today I had pretty much given up hope. I cannot thank you enough for designing this wonderful dress. Every time I think about it I get popcorn in my stomach anticipating how I’m going to feel when I put it on. Thank you so very much.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jules…..I only hope you feel the same way when you receive it! Thank you for your wonderful note.

  16. Toni Fisher

Louis: Sorry to bother you again, I just ordered the KATE shirt in white and pale olive. After reading the reviews, some say size up, so I am a QVC 1X but I ordered a 2X because I am an XL/1X in LLBean up top, but am hippy like a pear shape. Do you think I should stick with the 2X or go back to 1X. I usually like to wear a shirt open with your turtleneck under – what do you think. Thank you again and I am changing my schedule changes as fast as you give them to me. I could hit QVC in the head. Thanks Louis.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Toni….I’s be guessing too. When you say open do you mean completely open like a jacket? If you plan on wearing it layered, why don’t you order the pale olive in the 2x and the white in the 1x and see which works best?

      1. Toni Fisher

OK, did it. Yes, I love the fitted look but it’ll be open like a jacket. I want to get as much as I can because QVC seems to get the designers irritated. Sent Mackie back because his sizing is so off and his material is getting see through; George Simonton is great but his pants have to be brought up to the bra line even though I’m 5″8 and love a 31″ seem but his liquid knit cups the butt and I like a pant to hand straight down from the butt, perhaps a heavier material would be better. I will try your pants – I love a in-seam of 31″ where it breaks right at the front of the shoe. I LOVE the feathers in your new designs, how classy and rich looking. Going to order Walnut if the turtleneck comes in that color. Thanks Louis.

  17. Cheri

Lois, I am new to your boards, but I absolutely love your clothing. It is classic and never goes out of style. When I wear your clothing I feel like a million dollars and I get so many compliments on the clothes. I have friends tell me when I get tired of them they want me let them have them. I do have one question, will you be having any ivory trousers/pants this fall in petite. I loved the ivory color and would love to have a pair from you. God bless you, Jac and your fur babies.

    Cheri

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cheri…..Welcome to my website!!!I will be having Ivory pants on my October show, but they will only be avail. in one length. Hope to hear from you again soon!

      1. Cheri

Dear Louis, Thank you so much for this information. I look forward to seeing them and I am saving money for the August shows. I just love your new safari suit, as well as, the plaid blazier. I am collecting all of the item numbers and keep checking on QVC to see when they will be able to order. So far I am waiting for A226256, the shirt jacket in chili pepper.
I got the chili pepper boho skirt. The color is just beautiful. Thank you so much for these beautiful clothes. God bless you, Jac and your fur babies.

  18. Kate

LDO–is the v-neck tunic sweater (A217985 wool blend to match the famed pencil skirt) offered last year coming back?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Der Kate, Unfortunately…no. I was very disappointed that it wasn’t reordered. I was told too many returns and that’s what they go by. It doesn’t matter what the wait list is, which must have been large, because there aren’t any left in inventory. If the returns go above a certain percentage….the end.

      1. Kate

I wish someone had returned a steel gray in XS! Glad I have the other two colors. I will console myself with more of the silk and cashmere turtlenecks in all the new colors, and I see from a sneak peek that there is another longer sweater coming. Oh, btw, I love pleated skirts–it just takes a masterful designer (you!) to get the placement right so no extra bulk on the hips and waist, right? I will be ordering one of each. I do think that while you always give us a runway collection and not just one-off pieces, that this particular grouping is especially “designer” and very boutique. Can’t wait!

  19. Julia

    Louis,

How will my espresso cashmere/silk turtleneck look with the broken plaid jacket in walnut? Maybe if I wear it with the white Kate shirt layered over the t-neck to break up the browns? Will it work with the feather skirt in mushroom? I love that cashmere/silk turtleneck!

    Julia

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Julia…..layer if you like, but the Espresso cashmere T-neck looks great with the knew jacket

      1. Julia

I suspected as much. Oh, I can’t wait for cool weather. My husband and I are visiting our kids and grandkids in Oklahoma and it is HOT! I thought Virginia was hot this summer but it is always in the 100’s here every summer. This is one place where my ever present cardigan doesn’t get put on, not even in a restaurant. There just isn’t a chill to be found anywhere. So, I am ready for fall.

Thanks, Louis, for bringing us fall!

        Julia

        1. Julia

Oh, and I’ll be wearing the Greek blue maxi tonight when we go out for dinner. No ironing and I look and feel cool. Thanks for that, too!

  20. Jackie

Louis, I just want to say thank you for taking the time to give all of us your sneak peaks. For those of us who love your fashions, it gives us a chance to plan, think about our wardrobe, and buy right away. I know this takes time and I appreciate it. Enjoy the weekend.
    Jackie

  21. Marilyn

Louis, I have been on waitlist for the Multi Gemstone 48″ necklace. I need it for a Sept. 1st wedding. Any news?

    Marilyn P

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Marilyn,
You should really speak to customer service. To my knowledge it was not reordered and I don’t believe any are coming in. I don’t know why they would leave you hanging like this. The only multi stone necklace is the new one which is in stock now. If you want it to wear with the cross or on it’s own ….it is very beautiful and is the same stones as the station necklace without the stations….plus it has some bigger beads through out…..sorry they keep stringing you along….that’s a long time to be waiting……Louis

      1. Marilyn

So sad :(. I have the cross, the other necklace to the set and the green/pearl gold earrings. Please tell me the item # of the station necklace. I will be wearing black on top and my first boho in black!

        Thanks, Marilyn P

        1. Marilyn

Sorry Louis, I meant the Item # for the new multi stone neclace. No new jewlery is comming up on QVC.com.

          Marilyn P

  22. Judy S. from Massachusetts

Hello Louis, and WOW! I’m so excited for the upcoming shows, and will be watching while on vacation at the Outer Banks with my family. I have one question for you. The way you’ve styled the black feather print blouse/skirt with the new plaid blazer is divine. Do you think those pieces would work with the grey/black herringbone blazer from years back as well?

Thank you so much for all you do.

    Judy

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Judy….that’s a good question, but unfortunately I no longer have that jacket to see how or if it works. After a while, I donate the clothes to an organization that helps women trying to get jobs. If I kept everything I would be buried……..The Outer Banks sound absolutely perfect!

      1. Debbie M

        Like I am! LOL

      2. Judy S. from Massachusetts

I love those organizations as well…but they never get my Linea! 🙂

Thank you for the lightning-fast reply, and DH and I are very excited for some beach time.

  23. DeLois Basler

Louis, I aked about sizing in the snake print v-neck dress and you advised me to try the medium which is my regular size. I ordered the dress in the brown print and it arrived yesterday. At first I tried it on without the right undergarments and it fit but did not look well. This morning I tried it on with the right undergarment and it is a winner. I will add a tiny tiny shoulder pad to balance things out a bit, but the sizing i right on I believe. I will wear it with the khaki jacket with the zipper trim from last spring……….It loves lots of beads which I have…….. Thank you for a great dress……. that is hard for me to find……

  24. Abby

I just received the Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Printed V-Neck Maxi Dress and I absolutely love it. It is completely sold out now with no waitlist. Is there any chance that this will come back in stock? Thanks!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Abby,
I happy to hear you loved your dress. What color were you able to snag it in?
unfortunately there aren’t any more spring styles coming through this year. The factories are all producing fall. However, there is a STRONG chance it will be reordered for Spring 2013……….

      1. Abby

Thanks! I got it in espresso in size XL and it is truly beautiful. I’ll keep watching to see if any show back up. I would love to have the other colors…and I don’t usually wear dresses 🙂

      2. Celia

I can’t tell you how THRILLED I am to hear this! I LOVE my espresso and would love another color.

        1. Celia

I love the colors in the silk ikat A89806 from years ago that had ivy green, tobacco, magenta and pomagranite. Some combination of these?

I would love to have another chance to get the brick red with amber.

        2. Abby

The brick red came back in stock in XL and I ordered it. So excited. I don’t know what size you are Celia, but I think there are still some plus sizes available.

          1. Celia

Abby, I wish they had one in my size! I’m glad you snagged it:-)

      3. Kristen/spagal

If they don’t they are losing a lot of $. I’ll be back for the 3rd color. Love mine!!!

          1. Sherry

How about some kind of green with orange…I’ll leave the shades to the expert.

            1. Deb/jazz

Or green with turquoise? (love that combo in the summer)

            2. Marcia

I know it is not very adventurous but how about black with red, or red with black or white. Just got the chili boho and I love how many things I can use it with .

          2. Julia

How about olive with mustard? Or denim blue with black? Or more tonal shades of khaki and light olive? I love this maxi dress and love the fact that when maxi’s are out I can shorten to a knee-length dress or tunic. I managed to snag all three colors and would gladly welcome a fourth.

            1. Julia

              …Or classic navy with red…

          3. Kristen/spagal

I’d love black with red trim, any shade of green with purple trim, and a purple with a metallic gold trim. I’ll be watching for a new color (or two) for next year!

  25. Toni Fisher

Louis, Louis, Louis: I just pulled you up on QVC and ordered the long sleeved turtleneck in olive, dark mallard blue and caramel – now I have every sweater – bless you, I have to keep on you EVERY day to see what is going on. I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy. Bless you (Hi Jac), Toni

      1. Toni Fisher

I thought about mushroom, but it might make me pale – I am olive complexed – is it pale or a heather type mushroom?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

It’s not that pale….it a soft pretty color….a true neutral. It is solid not heather.

          1. Toni Fisher

SOLD, just ordered – NOW I have ALL the colors, yippee. Horses love mushrooms, I better keep looking over my shoulder. bless you and Jac. See you on TV in August. Toni

  26. Marcia

    Hi Louis
Also curious about new colors for whisper knit and pencil skirts
I have been waiting for the Olive pencil skirt- to wear w/ the olive leopard topper.
Will the either the taupe or olive work with the herringbone jacket ( stone or olive)?
Just received the new hobos- love them both and am waiting for my Kate (white) and lace tunics!

    1. Marcia

Oopps- should be boho- not hobo! skirts

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes they both work with the stone and pale olive herringbone jackets

  27. CGee

Louis, Could you give a quick description of the new Caramel color in the whisper knit turtleneck A72448? We’re talking about it at the Linea Forum on QVC.com and one Lady suggests it might be like caramel topping on a sundae. Thanks!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s the color but a little paler…..mix it with the vanilla ice cream

      1. Yvette

Oh yum!! Happily, I just placed my order. Gotta get em before they sell out!

  28. Bernadine

The new color olive knit skirt is coming up as a long skirt on QVC. Is that an error as the other colors with that number are short pencil skirts?

    Thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That is an error and I have notified them….lets see how long it takes them to remove last fall’s riding skirt!

  29. Kate

I know you didn’t design it for this purpose, but I love the new open work tunic as a swimsuit cover-up (black on black for me but also would be pretty over a white swimsuit). Very chic and breezy cool. Would love another in white!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kate…..actually, I did design it as a swimsuit coverup as well as a top to wear with leggins, pencil skirts etc. In one of the sneak peeks I have it over a white tank bathing suit.I originally had a sample in white, but it looked like cheap curtains you would see hanging in the windows of an inexpensive french bistro. The fabric looks best in dark colors. I doubt that this top will become a reorder…..I think it’s a one time only.

      1. Kate

Wish you could have presented it as a swimsuit cover on the Q!

I’d best scoop up the green pronto.

  30. Dariann

    Dear Louis,

Happy birthday! Will the new mushroom turtleneck go well with the new stone slacks and jacket that you are presenting next week?

Can’t wait to see you & Jac,
    Dariann

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Hi Dariann,
Yes, the mushroom T-neck looks very good with the stone pant.

  31. Bernadine

I’m very interested in the new mushroom colors both in the sweater and the knit skirt. Could you describe the colors for me as mushrooms can be an almost cream color to darker brown.

Thank you for the beautiful clothes you bring to us!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The mushroom is a med. taupe and the dk. mushroom is deeper but nor a dark color. I will be having sneak peeks soon as the show is Aug 6th which is right around the corner.

  32. jgooch

Can you tell me on what shoes on the 31st will the herringbone items be presented. Also, the Kate shirt and the cascade skirt. Thanks.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I do not have the “script” of the shows yet so I can’t answer this. I know the scarf top will be on the 30th PM Style, but at this point that is all I know for sure. I am hoping they are on the 4pm show, but I won’t know anything for sure until I get the show line-ups

  33. Jackie

    Louis,
I want to build a fall wardrobe on my brown boho skirt and want some long sleeve or three quarter fine gauge sweaters or other tops with brown. I prefer something not to heavy with the boho. it is a beautiful skirt. I have several but love the brown. Do you have some tops coming this fall that may work for me?
    Jackie

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes…..there are essential sweaters in the whisper knit that will work with your mocha boho skirt

  34. Cathy

Happy Happy Birthday, have a wonderful celebration!

Cathy, Walter and little Walt in PA

  35. Sherry

Hope you had a wonderful birthday. I have a question…is the snap front quilted jacket coming back? I’ve lost enough weight that I now need a smaller size. That jacket over any of the sweaters was my go-to outfit last late fall/winter; I just love the look and the comfort. Hoping to get another black. thanks…I did ask this yesterday, early, but it was deleted before I was able to see if you answered. So, sorry for the second time around.

  36. Toni Fisher

Hi Louis: Can’t wait for you to come on for the Fall. Are you going to bring back the long sleeve turtleneck whisper knit in Mallard Blue? I have that sweater in all colors except the new Mushroom. I LOVE aubergine and this should have flown out the door, LOVE this color. I can wear these sweaters even in the hottest weather out here in New Mexico (live up in the mountains), but they feel so light and airy and don’t itch. LOVE your designs, it certainly stands out above the rest. How are the girls? Oh, those Scotties, so aloof and selective. Love that quizical look they can give someone as they walk away from them. So independent – miss seeing Ms. Beazley with the Bushes. Love you, (HI JAC). Toni

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Toni,
The Mallard Blue is making a return plus the new Mushroom and Caramel…..two terrific fashion/neutral colors.
My girls are terrific except….we have learned they are allergic to grass! Not easy when our house is surrounded by lawns.
Up in the mountains of New Mexico sounds absolutely beautiful.

  37. TourEiffel

    Happy Birthday, Louis!

    All good wishes,
    TourEiffel

Here’s a “Happy Birthday” shout out from the west coast. May all your birthday wishes come true.

  44. Sherry

Happy Birthday to You….is Jac celebrating your birthday week as in last year?

Did the snap fron quilted jacket, A217976, get reordered for this fall/winter? I’m thinking I need a smaller size now and that was my go-to jacket all fall and winter.

Sorry if this is a double post, but I didn’t get to see if you answered before it was erased. thanks, Sherry

  45. Maria (Goldie 76)

    To the Birthday Boy,

May you have a sensationally pleasing day and healthy, happy and prosperous year ahead!

    All the best,

    Maria

  46. Rae

    Louis,
Happy Birthday to you and good wishes for many, many more!! Be a bit decadent today and have a fabulous meal-or two-finsihed off with a scrumptious dessert! The salads can start again tomorrow.

    Regards, Chris

  48. Mary (Shopsy)

Happy Birthday, Louis! I hope your day and the coming year bring you everything you’re wishing for.

  49. Sherry

Happy Birthday to You….that’s as much singing as I do. LOL

Did the snap front quilted jacket, a217976, get reordered for this fall? I think I now need a smaller size and that was my go-to jacket last fall and winter. thanks

  50. Debbie M

Happy Birthday Louis! I hope it is very special!

  51. Inna

    Hi Louis,
How will the sage crinkle georgette shirt w/shell (item# A214117) look with the new pale olive herringbone suit?
I’m looking forward to your upcoming shows. Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

  52. DeLois Basler

Louis….. Love the python print dress but I am confused about sizing. I am a medium in your clothing, but the measurements on the dress seem rather small for a medium (particularly bust measurement)…….. Any advice on this…….. In a woven fabric, I need 41-42 inch in bust to be comfortable……wondering what size to order. I am small in the shoulders and slim in the thigh area.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear DeLois…..the fact that you have narrow shoulders, I would say stay with the medium. I would also suggest you ask this question of the ladies who have received this dress already. Either start your own post on the Linea QVC website….”Question about Python dress size?” or ask the question on the post that has already been started on the python dress. I’m sure you will get feed back from the women who have already received the dress on which way to go. The dress measures small because of the amount of stretch. If this dress measured the same as your bust measurement, it would be huge on you. I hope this helps. Narrow shoulders, slim hips, I still think medium, but see what the ladies think.

      1. DeLois Basler

Thanks Louis for your prompt answer…… I think I will give it a try……

  53. Ann from Maryland

    Hi Louis,

I love the upcoming stone herringbone trousers. I’m thinking of pairing them with some of your tops in your (dark) navy, such as the ballet neck 3/4 sleeve whisper knit sweater from this spring. How do you think this combo would work?

Also, what other colors do you think would pair well with the stone herringbone?

Thanks always for your help – and beautiful styles!

    Ann from Maryland

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Ann,
The navy and the stone will be beautiful, Honestly, I’d be hard pressed to come up with a color that won’t look good with the stone. It is so neutral it works with every color.

  54. Carol in FL

    Hi Louis,

Another question, please–Will the straight leg crepe pants (item #A221798) be returning? They are the best pants! They fit so well and look so sharp, especially with the matching pearl button jackets. I have them in tan and black and would like to order an additional pair of the black. These would be terrific in ivory to match the jackets. Any luck? Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. It is greatly appreciated!

    Carol

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Carol,
I haven’t received any news about which items from last spring are returning. When I know you will all know.

      1. Carol in FL

Thanks, Louis. It’s so wonderful to be able to ask you questions. What other designer would answer questions? I’m just amazed and thrilled beyond words with your clothes and the personal attention you give to your Linea ladies. Thanks again ever so much.

        Carol

  55. Carol in FL

    Hi Louis,

Congratulations on the weight loss. You’re looking great! I have a question regarding the new python dress in “stone.” Will it match item #A213327, the notch collar blazer with zipper trim and 3/4 length sleeves in “khaki”? Thank you. Looking forward to the shows in July and August. More sneak peaks, please. Thanks, again.

    Carol

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I hadn’t thought of putting them together, so I just looked at my samples and they are PERFECTION!

        1. Sherry

          Mee too!!!

  56. Mary

Hi, I saw a question about the Whisper Knits on your home page and found the answer, but your question disappeared…maybe you got the answer already.

The question (I think) was when did the nickname “Whisper Knit” begin?

Here’s your post from October 2010:

Dear crdlb…..thank you for coming up with the perfect name for my rayon/nylon blend sweater yarn…..and so fast!! The minute I saw it I new it was perfect. A whisper is all about someone who speaks softly and that is just what this yarn does…..now how do you pronounce….”crdlb”…..thanks again for your wonderful suggestion………..Louis

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Thanks Mary…..you are quick!! I did find out the answer myself with a little investigating….so I removed the post instead of having everyone trying to give me an answer. You are very sweet to find this out for me….regards, Louis

      1. Mary

I’m happy to help, even if it’s too late 🙂

Today it was 100 degrees in New York. It wasn’t a day for a jacket, so I wore the A78315 silk blouse with the scallop detail in green and your A222548 trouser jeans in white. Threw a pink enamel chain necklace on and off I went.

I am so grateful to be able to buy clothes from someone who understands. All of it – the style, the cut, the fabrics, the details. It’s just wonderful. Even when it’s 100 degrees.

So, thank you. You make my life a little easier. And a whole lot prettier.

  57. Dariann

    Hi Louis,

Do you know if your new necklaces and bracelets will be available before your next show? I need both colors ASAP.

    Thanks,
    Dariann

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Dariann, If you are referring to the Black and Chili Pepper bead necklaces and bracelets, I believe they are going to be avail. some time late in Aug.Sorry that we couldn’t get them to you sooner.

      1. Dariann

Thanks Louis – I’ll just have to be patient and wait until then.

  58. Donna Slade

Louis, I ordered the python print dress and would like to have the matching belt. Will it be shown in PM Style this evening, also do you have the item number? You are looking great! I always refer to you as a “Classy Designer who makes Classy Clothes!” All the best to you and Jacque, Donna from Florida

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Donna,
I will be will be on PM Style tonight with the python dress, A226255. The dress does not come with a belt. That is an accessory you will have to provide. The python belt in the photo with the stone color dress is from my personal accessory collection.

  59. Jackie

    Louis
I just ordered the peacock dress. I am thinking I want an over blouse and may have to change my mind on color. Perhaps the chili pepper with the chili pepper over blouse. Am I missing a peacock blouse? Just checking before I change my order.
    Jackie

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Hi Jackie,
By over blouse, I am assuming you mean the shirt/jacket. There isn’t any in peacock, only the peacock blazer. Your choices would be the chili pepper over the C.P. dress or the straw over the stone dress.

      1. Jackie

One more thing………..I typed in the item number for the shirt/jacket and it is not available. Will it be offerred tonight on PM Style?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

The shirt jacket is not on tonight’s show, It will be on my July 31st show.

  60. Flora

Louis, I’m very interested in trying the python print dress but no hip measurements makes it difficult to figure out what size to get. The dress looks quite slim. Would you suggest sizing up, especially for your “hippie” clientele?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That depends how hippie you are talking about. Remember, the top will be bigger too. I do not find this dress to be supper fitted even though they are saying fitted. The dress has small horizontal tucks down the front which adds more fabric so it is not just a flat”T Shirt” dress. Plus, there is ruching down both side seams which also adds more fabric. The fabric is my poly/span, like my maxi dress, so it has a lot of stretch. The print also will cover up many figure flaws, more so than a solid. From a man’s point of view…..I prefer it to show the curves rather than hide them…..if you still prefer going up a size, and if you find it a little large in the waist….it does look great belted. I think you should go with the bust measurement you are comfortable with. Unless your hips are three sizes larger than your shoulders and bust, personally go with the bust measurement. If your hips are that large compared to the rest of you, this is not the dress for you.I hope this explanation has helped…….regards, Louis

      1. Flora

This is very helpful info. Thank you. There’s been a bit of discussion in this regard over on the Q Linea board so I’ve shared your response with the ladies there. Thank you again.

  61. Emma Pryor

Are you shedding some pounds because you looked absolutely fab!!! Can’t wait for that leather jacket you keep teasing us with!!LOL

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dearest Emma,
Thanks foe noticing!!!My jackets aren’t pulling quite so much!….even with the packs we have to wear on our backs. I’m working very hard to shed some pounds!

      1. Sherry

I agree, it is noticable that you’ve lost weight. My DH and myself are both trying to loose some pounds as well. Better to do it now in the heat of summer, when it’s easier to eat less. That way it will leave room when the end of the year holidays come around and there’s good food everywhere.LOL

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

We have been eating a lot of mixed salads, and Jac made a huge bowl of shredded cabbage salad. When ever I get hungry I have a bowl of shredded cabbage which also has red peppers, shredded carrots, cider vinegar and what ever else she throw in it. It’s good and satisfies me. The only problem is I’m growing rabbit ears.

          1. Sherry

            I love that…growing rabbit ears…LOL

          2. TourEiffel

Bonjour! You’ve just identified the key to weight loss success: growing rabbit ears. Seriously, other than regular exercise, success is achieved by having delicious healthy foods readily available at all times. We all get hungry. But if we have healthy options at our fingertips we’re so much better off. Jac’s cabbage salad sounds delicious. My bunny food consists of a bag of veggies and hummus that I munch on at the office. Congratulations on your success! Such a great feeling!

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

I love hummus, especially the “Tribe” brand. The only problem is….I like hummus with crackers so I avoid eating it. It’s just not the same having hummus on a carrot stick! You’re right, it’s definitely the choices we make, that’s why when I find something I like…..like Jac’s cabbage salad….it makes it much easier. I have a long way to go, hopefully by the 31st I will have dropped more weight.

            2. Cathy

You are looking wonderful, sir, and yes, it’s noticeable! As someone who struggles to be NOT short and round, I applaud your efforts, and Jac’s cabbage salad sounds so wonderful it reminds me I have a head of cabbage in the fridge. We had friends from India who used to make a shredded cabbage salad that was delicious: shredded raw cabbage, some cider vinegar, a bit of cilantro, a FEW chopped peanuts, and a bit of crushed red pepper flakes; it was SOOO good. You’ve inspired me to go get that cabbage out and … try harder. Maybe that python dress should be my inspiration LOL … THANKS and hugs to you both,

              Cathy in PA

P.S. I LOVE my new Peacock Brushed Cottom Jacket, and Walter loves it yippee 🙂

  62. Ann

What happened to the Lacey fishnet tunic? Any chance we will finally see it on Monday?

    1. Claudia (chprsp)

      Monday morning, I think.

  63. Barbara C.

    Hi Louis,

How will the pale olive sweater–and other pale olive pieces–look with the new stone herringbone suit. Really looking forward to your upcoming shows. Thank you.

    Barbara C.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s not the best choice, I would stay with the pale olive herring bone which looks fantastic with the pale olive separates and even the dark olive pieces you may already own….i.e. all the whisper knit olive sweaters

  64. Denise

    Hi Louis,

I’ve been anxiously waiting for some time for the return of the animal print blazer, item A201016. While it has been available for a couple of months in most colors/sizes it did not come back in size XXS in either the lavender or turquoise. Do you have any idea whether this oversight will be corrected anytime soon? I have purchased three of these fabulous blazers and very much want to add these two lovely colors to my collection!

    Your clothing is the best!

    Denise

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Denise,
I do not believe it was reordered in either color in any size. What ever is avail will be the final quantities in these two colors.

  65. Carol Prue

Is there any chance you cold make the jackets A218570 in other colors, such as blue or emerald or a lighter color?
    Thank you,

    Carol

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Carol….that would be nice, however this jacket has not been reordered. As you can see, even though it is a beautiful jacket, it is still avail. in all colors all sizes.

      1. Carol Prue

Thanks for your prompt response. I have soooooo many of your clothes, especially the jackets. I now have tons of the navys, whites, creams, blacks, etc. but I love the colors. I still wear many of the suede jackets you brought out years ago in the blue and green and red – still love them.

I hope you will continue to bring out such colors. Many of us with soft coloring – pink cheeks, blue eyes don’t look so hot in the herring bones and olive tones.

        Thanks for your consideration,
        Carol

    2. Gail

I have this jacket in black, after much analysis about which color to buy (the other is sage with bronze trim.) I don’t know what your color preferences are, but the black is smashing! I first wore it at Christmas with the Linea red turtleneck. I’m looking forward to wearing it with jeans when the weather cools. It fits beautifully. It might look good in other colors, but to me, the colors available carry out the design perfectly.

    3. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Carol,
I think there is a good chance that it will be reordered since it was very successful, but I haven’t received any notification yet about spring reorders.
