Like MANY MANY others, I just wanted to let u know that i truely enjoyed your shows yesterday. I was glued to the tv set and ordered quite a few things, i still have to do a count. I also purchased A214116 in blue and so appreciated the fact that the placket did not separate and form a gap that I ordered the pale olive and white yesterday. I too would love additional colors in that style blouse. If our ladies knew how great the fit and fabric is of that blouse, they too would want additional colors. They probably did not buy it yesterday with so many new and tempting choices to tease them that a hard-working basic was not on their radar screen. jj

I so enjoyed your most recent show. The very wealthy are invited to attend events to select their wardrobe for the new season from the designer’s latest collection. For two hours, a designer came into my home with me in the front row. By reading the Linea forum, I now share a bond with others who appreciate your talents. I like quality and a custom fit, something that attracts me to your line. The sneak peak photos get the sartorial juices flowing!! It is such a pleasure to do a little planning before the actual debut of new designs.

Couple questions:
– You used to do a 2-tiered skirt (not the boho) with a smocked wide waistband that came in navy, espresso etc. Any chance this style returns? It’s so chic!
– Will you be doing the metallic crinkle skirt in more colors? Or use the skirt’s silhouette in the future?
– I just received the button front shirt (A214116, Kate or Robyn?) in chambray, and it’s marvelous. Would love to see it in IVORY and DARK OLIVE (as in the safari shirt.) Any reorders in the works on that one?

Hi Birdie…..to answer your questions:
1-no reorders on that one….women didn’t like the smocked yoke
2-no reorders on that one either. I don’t know about that style. It works well in that fabric because you don’t have to have a lot of shirring from the yoke to make it look good, but in another fabric it could look like nothing. I tried it in the pebble crepe, but it only did fair.
3-That’s up in the air for now. I love that shirt and the first time around it blew out. The last showing of it wasn’t as stellar, so with QVC you never know.

As a middle school teacher I try to set an example for my students, especially when noting dress code violations! Thank you!!!!!
When I was in the 9th grade, my first class of the day was “Honors English”. My teacher was a very “dandy” dresser with bow ties, check shirts, tweed and plaid blazers…..he dressed beautifully but was very….ridged. One morning, I came into class with jeans and he sent “me” to the principles office! The next day every single guy in my class, moi included, came in jeans! He hated us!! We eventually got him back when all of the 9th grade English classes took a field trip to see a Shakespearean play in CT….but that’s another story….Boy have things changed.
I want to hear the rest of the story! How did you get back at him? LOL
Okay, I knew I left you hanging. As I said, the 9th grade honors English classes when on a field to Ct. to see some Shakespearean play. There were about 60 students and three teachers. It was a Friday in early May. My teacher, who was truly a pompous a__, cut out to meet his “boyfriend” because he wanted to get an early start for the week end, which of course he was not supposed to do. Let’s just say, a “group” of students reported his absence. He was in hot water with the school and the parents. If he was a cool guy, we could have cared less, but he was a real jerk and deserved to sweat a little in his tweeds. Funny things we remember.
“Mr. Pompous” was asking for it! Justice was done. He was not interested in kids. Disrespecting “The Man,” in front of the whole class by sending him to the principal’s office was wrong on so many levels, and all the other kids knew it! Enough already! (I’m sure you were an absolute angel at all other times except for this unfortunate incident:-). I doubt anybody learned much in that class, except how much fun it was getting back at a jerk and a dandy! Maya Angelou said “I have learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Revenge is sweet. Now you are a famous fashion designer, and he is still doing God knows what in his tweeds. P.S. Today, he would have been gone that Friday afternoon in early May…for good!
The strange thing is….he was a very good teacher, well spoken, good looking and very well dressed…..he just had this strange side to him. Maybe he was repressed. Being gay and a teacher wasn’t as acceptable as it is now….who knows. The way I figure it he is very old by now or gone…….R.I.P.

Louis, I really liked your two hour show and bought way too much and anxiously awaiting their arrival. I hope I got the right sizes………… Thank you for all your sneak peaks which REALLY helps with the decision making. I turned a friend on to your line and she had no luck at all ordering. It was always sold out. QVC really needs to order more of your product especially very popular items that have matching pieces……… I think you have the best line on TV shopping……. GREAT SHOW, Louis. CONGRATULATIONS. I bought the feather skirts in both colors, the plaid textured blazer in both colors, the turtleneck in mushroom (i have just about every other color in most of your sweaters!!!), the clearance top in raspberry, and a few other things!!! Would love to see you add scarves to your line. I’ve been buying your gorgeous clothes for 12 years, and still have MANY of the original pieces that I’ve collected over those years, which I still wear and look GREAT. Only you can manage to do that.
One quick suggestion… instead of the QVC hot picks, how about a segment with JAC’S PICKS? When you get an hour show, maybe she could select several pieces that she especially loves. You were discussing her taste in clothing yesterday, and I think that may be something to expand on. I know I’d be interested.

There used to be a Jac’s Picks column on my Linea site, but for some unknown reason it was removed. I think it’s a great idea and one I will suggest. A TSV…after, what is it…5,6 or 7 years since the last one, that would be nice.
Great show. But why were there brand new items that were never ordered in the xs-s sizes? I couldn’t get things because those sizes just didn’t get ordered. And the drawstring pants sold out so quickly, I’m sure many ladies buy before the show but I like to watch first. I would have bought the pants in small but then you said they look drapier going up a size so I would not have known that without watching. They sold out almost immediately. I think QVC thinks they only have to order enough for the ladies on the forum and no one else.
i am going to write them a letter. They need to bring in enough for the ladies who pre-order and double that for the audience watching. You are a great designer Louis.

Every item was ordered in the xs and sm. Quantities in xxs, xs, sm, 1x,2x and 3x are fewer than the M,L,XL, and they are usually the first sizes to sell out. With many women pre-ordering, the amounts are already diminished by show time. An example of this is the navy pant. By show time it was already sold out in three sizes. I have absolutely no say in the amount of product QVC buys. It’s not my company…..I am only the vendor, and it is up to them to buy as much or as little as they like. I know it can be very frustrating, but there really isn’t anything I can do but make sure what I sell is as good as I can have it made.

What a wonderful show! My July 31 order arrived just 10 minutes before you came on air. I am delighted with the new faux linen pants and the chili pepper shirt jacket! After ordering the safari suit in both colors and the caramel WK turtleneck at midnight, I could not resist the black plaid jacket and pleated skirt when I saw them on the models. Thanks for two sparkling hours of fashion, and these gorgeous additions to my wardrobe!

While in Vienna, try to go next door to Budapest, it is a beautiful city and the food is out of this world. If I was there I would bring you to my relative’s home and eat and eat and eat. Bought the heather gray tie pants, the color is so much more exicting on tv – I did size up as you suggested. Also THANK YOU JAC FOR PUSHING, PUSHING, love the teal/jade t-neck coming up in Sept./Oct – good girl. I also bought your camel with black piping jacket (not on the show) that Jac bought for herself and her sister – love that stying, it is soooooooooooo designer. The new Dark Teal Turtleneck will be a MUST, and it sounds like the upcoming Herringbone Suit will be available for my birthday; is it coming in any other colors besides B & W, or is it actually B & Ivory (so I know which turtlenecks to order … )?

Well, Houndstooth in two colorways … what a birthday present that will be! Today’s UPS box was the feather print … both colors, both pieces, and they’re WINNERS for me. Each piece will go with so many other items, but I especially like the Black/Grey/Chili Pepper pieces with (in endless permutations) with the Chili Pepper Shirt Jacket and the Black Brushed Cotton Blazer … wonderful! Anxious to see how the Plaid Blazers match up, especially the Mushroom one 🙂

I was so determined not to buy anything this show and give my clothing budget a break. Right! I looked at the navy safari suit AGAIN on the site and thought, “I can wear navy pants forever and that jacket will go with everything” so I ordered them on my lunch hour. Thank goodness because I am now home and they are gone in my size!!!!
I guess I am going to have to lose a little more weight to get to a size that doesn’t sell out so quickly!! LOL – we’ll see how I do by the time your September show comes around – can’t wait for the WK pants and hopefully another dress? Your pieces make me feel stylish, contemporary, and comfortable!

Today my roll tab button front shirt in straw arrived (A226256). As I wrote in the review that I just now submitted to QVC, I chose the straw as a conservative choice that matched my immediate needs. However, several days ago I did “break down” and buy the choice in my heart, the chili pepper. I’m writing to tell you how much I love the color straw, the fabric and the style of this shirt. Really, I am wilder about it than I ever anticipated. The straw color is lovely (soft golden hue), and the material is, as I’ve called it, a “silk shantung lite.”
Please make this style in more colors in the future. Is that possible?

Anything is possible….but it will depend if QVC feels it did strongly enough to be considered a reorder. I have no say it what is reordered….that is totally there business and their call. If and when something is reordered, then it is my job to supply the new colors.
Louis: Your scarves remind me of ones my Grandmother handed down to me. She always shopped at Bonwit Teller and Saks, they are heavier than a regular scarf and made of a very silky material. The colors are vibrant and I only wear them in the snowy Philadelphia winters. I remember her walking around the store while I sat in a chair wearing a hat and gloves sipping tea. Then off to Baily, Banks and Biddle walking passed Wanamaker’s windows so I could see the Christmas animations. I am afraid those days are gone forever. Your repetoir is everlasting and so classic. Will your whisper knit pants be in your September show.

It’s official; you and Jac could sell me anything. I was so sure I wouldn’t like feathers … then my Chili Pepper Shirt Jacket arrived today, and it’s just gorgeous; I can’t say enough nice things about this shirt and the color. Like the Stone Herringbone pants with that shirt very much, and the chili pepper paisley ruffle skirt too; was really afraid that was too tonal and not “matchy” enough for me, but somehow it works. Then I couldn’t stop looking at that sneak peak of the black feathers with that shirt, and before you know it, I ordered BOTH feather sets … Question: Is there anything else coming in Caramel to go with the feather skirt, other than the turtleneck; I was hoping for another neckline?
So I went to the kitchen and baked Walter a flourless chocolate torte with raspberries, mit shlag of course … a belated “birthday/get out of trouble because my Linea box was so big” cake. Walter came home with a new car … so his box was bigger than mine and I should be good for Monday’s treats LOL!

A NEW CAR!….you certainly are not in trouble…..just think how many boxes can fit into that car before you are even!!!Unfortunately there aren’t any other styles coming in the caramel, but there are plenty of styles coming in walnut and black to go with the skirts. Jac was wearing just one of them.

What’s the fabric of the new safari shirt (mushroom & navy) like? Does it have stretch, similar to the safari shirt that came in olive, navy… (A213216)?
I’m asking because I just received the chili pepper safari jacket/shirt and my usual Linea size XS is a bit tight (wanted to exchange for a S but, alas, it’s gone).
Btw, is the safari shirt (A213216) being retired? Would love to see it in more colors, as I already own all of them! Just received the white which is really a vanilla crème – exceptional!

The safari jacket in mushroom and navy is a true jacket in a poly/rayon/span and it does have stretch. The chili pepper shirt which can double as a shirt jacket is rayon/nylon and has no stretch…..it is more of a shirt. You should have no trouble with the xs if that’s what you normally wear.
The A213216 has unfortunately, been put out to pasture.

Feather print blouse measurements are looking oversized. Small chest at 44 inches . Would you advise going down a size? I love thisr print and anticipate a quick sell out and want to be sure of size. I am usually a small. Thanks Marcia

There is shirring at the top yoke of the blouse which adds fabric to the front, that is the reason for the larger measurement. It is not a flat front shirt.If you are small busted and do not have wide shoulders, and the shoulder measurement isn’t too small you could go down one size, but that is the reason for the larger measurement.

I am upset with QVC and have told them so about all the schedule changes to your show times and appearances on AM and PM Style. I think they are doing it on purpose to discourge your fans.

I have written to Mike George, the CEO of QVC and complained repeatedly about their scheduling and abuse of designers. The hosts talk over the designers and interrupt them, the designers KNOW the product, the hosts need to shut up and let the designer describe the product. Also, the camera angles are awful, the designer is discussing the interior of the product and the camera is showing a laser shot – really stupid directors and producers. You are right on MARGO. Sandra Bennett is the worst along with Carolyn Gracie. They shout and squeeky voices.
Louis: My “cluster” of transition clothing arrived and all the pieces are just plain gorgeous! And as I’ve been ironing them for hang-up, I’ve been admiring again the reliable way in which they are put together. Here’s a couple of questions rolling around in my head:
1. That olive herringbone jacket, besides looking drop-dead fabulous with the olive border print skirt – is also looking just fine to me with the chili pepper red skirt. Is my eye off, or does that work?
2. What’s your thinking about how these gorgeous border print skirts (I got olive and CP) go with last year’s 3/4 sleeve tunic top – “yes” or “no” say with the “safe” black 3/4 sleeve tunic?
I finally dove in for the olive boho, the olive WK turtleneck and the pale olive short sleeve ribbed shell is on its way. Wow, I love the olive scarf-top over these pieces AND I love the scarf-top with the matching skirt for summer wedding wear. Looking forward to the jewelry to pile on for the finishing touches in those wonderful bead necklaces. Meanwhile the byzantine 61 inch which I got last month is to-die-for! 1- It absolutely works….remember in the show I showed the pale olive Kate shirt with the chili pepper boho….when your chili pepper beads and bracelets come in it will all make sense. Roll up the sleeve of the herringbone jacket for the bracelets….it will look more relaxed and casual
2-I don’t know what tunic top you are referring to….the pebble crepe? I would not like black with either skirt. It’s not that the proportion is bad….it’s the fact that the colors don’t work. Did you get either the chili pepper or straw shirt jacket to wear with the skirts in either the chili pepper or straw. I HIGHLY recommend them with the skirts and all the bohos.
When the drop earrings finally show up you must get them to go with your necklaces and EVERYTHING!!!
Thank you Louis 🙂 I’m usually pretty confident in how I put clothes together but a woman in the online Q Community emphatically asserted that the border print scarf tops were “old lady resort wear” and when I tried to take her on re that awful assessment she only dug in deeper and said worse about the tops. You would have had no trouble responding to that but I gave it up when she dug in with an “I speak my mind” attitude and of course her mind was “truth”. I admit though that I worried a little bit about my cluster of purchases and if my own taste was suddenly somehow off. Until these beautiful items arrived. I’m a 2X and I’m thinking that belted those two gorgeous shirt jackets would not be flattering on me – which is why I passed them up. Though it crossed my mind that the straw color might go quite well with the gorgeous floral print prairie skirts I got from you in June 😉 I just can’t bring myself to do the belted jacket look.
Dear Nancy….thank you for defending me, but with people like that ther5e really is no point. Everyone is entitled to their opinion….she obviously has not received a Bergdorf, Neiman or Saks Designer fashion catalog.
Also I just want you to know the shirt jacket has darts so it does have a shape and does not need to be belted. As a matter of fact Maria was supposed to wear the straw shirt buttoned up and without a belt but the wrong size was pulled, a Medium, and she had to wear a tank under it at the last minute…..just wanted you to know it looks great without the belt.
OK. I’m ordering the straw one right now and am betting that it’ll look good with my “blonde – thank you dear hair dresser” locks. The chili pepper is gone in my size. I watch Maria VERY closely in whatever she models and the jacket looked a little smallish to me on her. That explains it. One size up on her and I would have felt comfortable with the look. Can’t thank you enough for this help! It really means a lot to me.

Hello Louis, I am making out my need list and you have so many items this season I am a nervous wreck. My question is the tunic sweater you had last season, will it be back in new colors? Also could you explain to us LINEA ladies how QVC knows how many of one item to order and do all designers have different manufactures in China or are there different factories. This might give us ladies some understanding as to how things work.
The v-neck acrylic wool tunic has not been reordered. We all have different manufactures who use different factories of which there are thousands. I don’t know how the buyers decide on the number of garments per style other than there are minimums on fabric.
I love this tunic, is it possible for u to do something similar, maybe even in the wispher knit? i don’t know if that will work?
The tunic was my go-to layering sweater last year with the WK mockneck under and the quilted jacket on top, slim knit pants and riding boots. Perfect dressing…
I must say I am disappointed because they are so well made and the fit is perfect. Please keep this fit and style in your notes for the future, very slimming for girls with hips and bellies after all spans can be painful when your a big girl. Just think they have man spans now for men with a belly. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LOUIS

I have some questions, the first being the most time sensitive…
Received and love the taupe boho. Fabulous color. Yet I can see the white elastic on the waistband. When wearing (sans belt) its very obviously a two tone look, there’s only one layer of fabric covering the elastic. I noticed the same when shown on the 4PM show. What do you think? I have CS holding another for me.
I like many others have some orphan pieces. First, the mallard knit skirt, no videos available to help me here. I seem to remember model Kate wore it with the matching T neck?? The WK V neck is now available too. I don’t want this color to ‘wear me,’ I’m 5’2″ 125#. Is the new walnut a black-brown, would these work together? I may be able to buy the mallard shell/tank from a friend.
Last, your pencil skirt in spruce green. Oh I bumped my head on this fabulous color! It didn’t translate on my screen well. By the time I realized how amazing it is, well…too late. I’d dearly love to have bought the boho…… The new tarragon green WK? What about the camel? Have the mushroom Tneck. I enjoy your tonal combinations, any hope for this skirt this season?

All of the waist bands are made the same so another taupe skirt will look the same.
I will be showing the mallard skirt on the August 6th 4pm show. The walnut is VERY dark and looks great with the Dk Mallard blue….it also looks great with black…Do not be afraid of this color it is beautiful….especially in the Whisper Knit.; I think the mallard V-neck with the skirt would be a good choice.
The skirt is coming will also be on the 8/6, 4pm show in many colors including the new Olive and Dark Mushroom.

My stone herringbone pieces should be arriving any minute! The silouette looked fabulous on the models! I am a little anxious about the wide leg will look on me. Though the wide leg pull-on pants from this summer look great on me,the slim leg pants looked better than the straight legs you did last fall.Maybe it depends on the drape. Would the herringbone pants would work with the jacket (proportion wise) if I had them altered to a slim leg? I don’t want to do it if it just won’t look right. What do you think?

OMG, Louis, UPS just came and they are unbelieveable! Your words are true, “when you see and feel how nice they drape and move, I don’t think it will be necessary” I took a huge gasp and my eyes popped out of my head when I climed into this suit and looked in the mirror. This fabric is out of this world. It feels like a dream. The workmanship is impeccable. I’ve tried the stone with the flecked tank, the olive tank, the pomegranite tank, and the white Kate shirt, and I will keep going. I will live in this jacket and pants for the next few months. I couldn’t be happier with this designer look!!!
I also got my olive cascade paisely border skirt, which also exceeds expectations, but I’ve gotta go now and do more playing around! (after I post this review on the QVC website). Thanks, Louis!

Louis, I am all over that fabulous mushroom color! And these knits are making me swoon. I recently went to the Schiaparelli and Prada exhibit at the Met – amazing! – and couldn’t take my eyes off the simple and impeccable Prada knits. So glad that I get to satisfy the craving with simple and impeccable Dell Olio knits! By the way – on the stinking hot day that I went to the Met, I wore your taupe boho, black tank and black wedge espadrilles. One of the docents told me I looked cool and chic!
One quick question … I want to scoop up your button front quilted jacket in black – I have the bronze and love it. I’m burning through my budget with the new stuff, but don’t want to miss out on this one. Has it been reordered, or should I grab it now, while it’s available in my size?

ABSOLUTELY! grab it NOW….it has not been reordered due to returns…I guess they haven’t priced a Burberry jacket…LOL…I will have many new WKs in many new colors to choose from this fall, and in Oct the turtlenecks will return in 3 NEW FABULOUS COLORS…..

LDO–do you have any info on when the cashmere/silk turtlenecks will be back in stock with the new colors?
I do not have that info, but I will check with my manufacturer to find out when they are due for delivery. I think for my Sept show…..but I’m not positive. I would suggest you order them now on wait list, if possible, so as soon as they hit the warehouse they will ship out the wait list customers. That is what is happening with the Whisper Knit turtlenecks. Many women must have been on wait list for the new Caramel and Mushroom, because The quantities are already low from what was initially shipped…………………LDO

I did not do WK in dk mushroom. I am so limited in doing “new colors” I had to make a choice between mushroom and dark mushroom. I chose mushroom to go with the safari suit and it blends with everything else.
Have alredy received the t-neck in mushroom; what a beautifully flattering color. Looking forward to the WN collection.

Dear Dariann……They are poly/rayon/span….yes they are soft, but I would not go as far as to say they are cashmere like. I think you will be pleased. I will say Jac likes them bigger. She normally wears an xs in Linea bottoms, but she liked these roomier, so she wants the small. She likes the “sweat shirt casual look for these and they are fit to be a slim pant, even though they are pull-on. So if you are between sizes I would say go up. I happen to like that slight paper bag look for these…..other wise stay with you normal size. I would say you can’t go wrong with the heather pants….they are hard to find.

Hello Louis: Just received my t-necks and, I never say this, but I LOOK GREAT – never thought I could wear olive but I can and that CARAMEL, boy, would I like a long coat in that color with a black velvet collar. That caramel is Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo British. LOVE them all and that whisper knit doesn’t weight an oz. Bless you and that fabulous mind of yours.
I am so gld you got the caramel t neck because, many have ordered it already and the mushroom and they are going to sell out in a second. I don’t even know if I will be able to show them on the models…that’s how many have sold already.
Also…the olive is very deep and has a lot of brown, and not very yellow….that’s why you can wear it

I never thought I could wear this color so close to the face but it is a very rich hue that doesn’t make me look washed out.
I always try to give these kinds of shades some depth so they are complimentary to most complexions…….a little BLUSH OR BRONZER and a BERRY lip gloss helps too!!! LOL……………..LDO
I have found the same wonderful results with your caramel, olive/sage and khaki colors. I have cool skin tones. When my hair was blond, I could wear some browns, but just couldn’t do many of the browns, khakis or olives out there. I was sad not to be able to don the safari look! My hair has turned dark blond (what would appear to be lighter brunette)and your shades of these colors look fine! I have so much fun with your clothes. Dear Louis, I received my herringbone pants today and I LOVE them. I had to order two sizes to get the fit right and I was wondering if the fit on the safari pants is similar. I do not want to have to order two sizes of those also. Thanks in advance.
Dear Debbie…I would say they are since they are very similar in style and they were are fit on the same fitting model. So you should order the numerical size that fit you best.
Some questions about the upcoming pleated skirt that is shown in your sneak peek with the plaid jacket. How is that going to look on a plus size? Is the skirt washable?
I have only seen it on a 1x fit model and she look great and she loved it. I think with over sweaters and boots, it should look great. It is washable, but when it comes to pleated skirts, I personally would dry clean it. Really, how often would it need to be cleaned….once or twice a season?

I wasn’t able to watch the shows but watched all the videos when I got home from work. Thanks so much for the sneak peeks. They looked like they were great shows. I ordered both the olive and stone suits at midnight and I’m glad I did as my sizes sold out quickly. They look gorgeous in the videos. Love the way the fabric moves and drapes. Also, got my mushroom and caramel turtlenecks and those colors are so rich. I was planning on getting the safari suit in both mushroom and navy and now I know it’s a definite. That mushroom suit with the mushroom turtleneck is so lush! And I think the caramel with the navy will be great, too. I haven’t pulled out my ponte funnel neck jacket in sweet potato but I think the caramel might work with it. Thanks for making me look so good!

Hi Rae….the gray will work with both chenille jackets the taupe will not. The chenille is too camel/yellow to go with the taupe heather ponte.

I ordered the herringbone suits (both colors). Love the look. I received the mushroom turtleneck yesterday and now must add the mushroom Safari Pant Suit to my list. What a great color.

Hi Louis: How did “Beano” order the black feathered blouse – A227579 – does QVC have special ways for certain people to order? I put the number in and it said “SOLD OUT.” It wasn’t even shown yet it’s sold out. How did Beano do it? This is some secret.
I have no idea as they aren’t listed on the Linea sight yet. The blouse will get a “TWO MINUTE SELL” on August 3rd at 4pm with the feather print skirt A227580 and the short sleeve reorder sweater A3825. You would have to ask Beano how she did it. I am sure you will be able to order the things you want at noon on the 3rd….but I’m just guessing…….I will say, order as early as you can the quantities aren’t that big.
