Hi Louis, I am glad to hear you had a great trip. Most of the your jewelry has shown up at the Q except for the enameled cross. Do you have an item # and a date for it to be available?
    Thanks
    Debbie

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The Baroque cross and enamel station necklace were not due this month with the other pieces…..I will find out when they are to arrive at QVC.

Dear Louis: Forgot to ADD – THE GIRLS, they must have be so excited when they saw you and Jac – I bet they made you pay for it too. Surely, you brought each of them a toy – did they give you dirty looks for leaving them – my Boykins do, they make me pay big time. Welcome home. Toni

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The girls were and are very happy we are home….no retaliations….

  3. Chris/Jazzmom

Good morning and welcome back!! Hope you and Jac had a wonderful time in Vienna and London!

    Louis,
I received the caramel turtleneck. What a great color! Is there a chance there will be pants in that color? If not this season, perhaps a consideration for Fall 2013?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Hadn’t though of doing a pant in that color. The colors I chose for pants are mostly neutrals….black, navy, gray, tan etc. When I venture into “color” they usually don’t do to well…….but I will keep it in mind.

I just got back froom a wonderful trip to Italy (Bellagio) and the plaid blazer was waiting for me when I returned. What a lovely welcome home. Especially since I’d ordered it on wait list and hadn’t much hope of ever getting it. It is so beautifully made!

There is a dress in the September Vogue, probably out of sight expensive, in the same feather print you used and which is so beautiful on. Those skirts, I got both colors, are beautiful in feel and movement and a pleasure to look at. Great collection as always.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I love Bellagio, where did you stay? I must say I missed the feather print in Vogue so I took another look. In all honesty, I think the pheasant print I did is much prettier…..mush more graceful and flowing. I am sure you are right….it must be a pretty penny.

  6. Debbie M.

Louis and Jac, you were missed! I hope you had a wonderful trip! My jewelry pyramid is on its way , Oink! Would you vieve I still have things unopened from the last show and the WK’s that keep coming! Everything I have tried on so far are keepers! Thank you for the fabulous collection!

Dear “Louie”: Just watched your 8:00 p.m. show from London – FANTASTIC. I learned so much about your products because your host asks you questions and the “whys” of your different designs – fantastic. Our hosts here act like they know it all. And remember Louis, when you descibe the beautiful red crepe blazer, it is “telephone box” red. LOVE THAT SHOW and the ways they promote you. We certainly are spoiled here in the U.S. with all the variety and colors you give us. LOVE IT. Now, you are headed back to the U.S. – SAFE JOURNEY. Lovely Jac. Toni

Dear Louis: I just watched your live show from London, how marvelous. They are so courteous with you and allow you to speak and describe your product. I love their shows and again, you will be on tonight, which I will watch. Lovely Jac. Love that purple tie, must be your good luch tie. Would love to live in the Cottswolds -but your show was just great, love watching UK shows. Toni

Hello, MY DESIGNER, whom I share with others on QVC (and around the world). I cannot stop enjoying your many designs. Why should I? They all compliment me. I have a gorgeous wardrobe that makes me proud and feel so ladylike. I smile at all the compliments I receive because of YOU. I truly appreciate a designer of your stature to make us feel womanly and at an affordable price.
I have been your client for many years and this is the first time I have written anyone or called in at QVC.
In May of 2011, I ordered one white, two pink and two yellow beautiful shirts item # A87428 in 1X. I more than love the fit, style and softness of these blouses. What a mistake not to order more at that time. I have impatiently waited more than a year to order more. All the while checking everyone of your shows. Well, I goofed up! I check in and there they are and all out, what’ up with that. Will you be bringing more in???
I am honored if you even get to see this note. My wardrobe is sooooooooooooo nice more than nice – spectacular thank you, MY DESIGNER.
    Sincerely, Shirley Main

The new jewelry is now available.

I ordered so much the poor UPS guy might get a hernia! All the love knots and the hanging crosses and the watch in rose. When do the enamel pieces arrive?

  11. Chris/Jazzmom

Please for next year add the persimmon color to the WK T necks roster. Thanks.

First of all. I love your designs and buy many of your pieces. They are of such good quality. I noticed on your shows that you always use the expression “God Laughs”. I came across a song on facebook that you you would enjoy called “God Laughs” by Delta Goodrem. I thought of you. It’s on you tube if you care to listen to it. The link is http:/www.youtube.com/watch?v=rc4A-zBpK0k/ I know that this has nothing to do with clothing but I didn’t know how to send it to you. I just thought you would enjoy listening to it.
Thank you for all your designs.

  13. Jackie

Louis, do you plan to offer any suade or leather jackets or blazers this fall or winter?
    Jackie

    PS
Just returned from Paris. Your scarf top prints are spot on with colors. Galleria Layfette featured lots of purple. The woman in Paris dress very nice. lots of dresses and skirts on all ages. I bought some gorgeous scarves to pair with your turtlenecks. I am inspired to clean out my closet of all things that do not look good on me.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes…..a leather and knit combination that will be on my Sept 10th 4pm two hour show. There will be a sneak peek in Sept.

  14. Toni Fisher

Dear Louis: Just received the persimmon mock turtleneck – it is out of this world -what a gorgeous color. This whisper knit is genius – I just can’t get over this color. Bless you again and again, Toni

  15. Cheryl G.

My sentiments exactly. I can’t even put QVC on any longer. I watch ONLY Louis’ show and even that is beginning to get annoying with the goofy hosts. QVC used to be such a great place to shop, but now things have changed, and continue changing, rapidly.

It is truly sad that such a “mainstay” in my life is no longer enjoyed or watched. Can’t imagine what changed things, but it is a huge disappointment.

    1. Toni Fisher

Cheryl G: It’s the CEO, Mike George, he allows hosts to use language prohitive when Mr. Segal, former CEO, was these, he was very professional and remember the hosts, how ladylike they were? It’s gotten quite shabby and I, too, watched for 16 years, but no more. Same things, Dyson, Computers, and Stri-Vectin. No more. Glad we have our great designer Louis.

Since I love all 11 items that I received from the August shows, I went back for a few more (colors), AND the new colors in the waist whittling sweater (I am SO HAPPY I’ll be getting a GRAPE – supposed to arrive TODAY!!!). Louis, would love for you to consider a FUCHSIA, especially in the turtleneck WK. It’s such a flattering color for so many of us.
I hope you and Jac had a wonderful trip. Looking forward to your return to QVC, and the long WK new addition to your line, plus all other things you’ll be bringing us. I hope they pair you up with a host who does their homework about what is in the show, and, more importantly, let’s YOU talk!

Boy are you ON POINT. The hosts are misreable, they interrupt, and they think they know EVERYTHING about Louis’ product. When he makes a remark, they don’t even comment on it and it is so important to see the product CLOSE UP (Joan Rivers beats the camera crew to death). The producers at QVC are so stupid, they don’t show the angle of the product the designer is talking about, but they show a laser shot and they show the models about 50 feet away – can’t watch them anymore. I only watch Louis – can’t even watch George Simonton, just LOUIS. QVC better treat Louis right. thanks NYC1

  17. Barbara C.

    Dear Louis,

Will the stone linen jacket be available again? I ordered an XS and QVC sent an ugly cape–not even your brand!–and heaven only knows where my jacket ended up! I have the beautiful matching pants and the fit is absolutely perfect. Hopefully there will be a reorder; I did get on the waitlist, but the rep told me no more would be available.

    Thank you,

    Barbara

  18. Birdie

Louis, for the Linea weekend collection I’d like to request a soft suiting look to complement the drawstring pants: a chic knit blazer that feels like the most comfortable and cozy sweatshirt.
Danke! Trust you’re having fun in Vienna!

  19. margo Ducane-Windsor

    Hi Louis,

I just received 15 of your gorgeous pieces from your last two shoes. Can you tell us when we will be able to order your whisper Neck long sleeve turtlenecks? waiting anxiously.

    cheers

  20. Sharon

Hello Louis, I am writing this while your traveling but I was thinking about new colors for whisper knit. The list is pretty pink baby blue
Navy and how about a pretty yellow. When I was in High school the big thing was pastel angora cardigans and wool pencil skirts to match the sweater and the look was so classy and I wonder if that would work again ?

  21. Toni Fisher

Dear Louis: I ordered the safari jacket in mushroom – LOVE Turner Classic Movies and I saw Walter Pidgeon with YOUR jacket (imagine it was stone colored because it was light on black and white film). It is SO Kate Hepburn (my best friend Kristin is marrying her nephew Jarrod in October in Old Lyme, CT where my friends live). I just love the look of that jacket, it is so 1940’s. Read ALL your Archives from April 2010 on and love your “girls” and your house overlooking the ocean/bay. Always remember Louis, no matter what company gives you grief, NO ONE can take the gift God gave you of creating and sharing. So when you return home after a battle, be surrounded by lovely Jac and the “girls,” you cannot be a richer man than having family and friends and all of us supporters. We are one tough clan of groupies.

  22. Toni Fisher

Dear Louis: Just wrote QVC fashion forum about the mushroom and caramel t-necks – love them, love them, love them. It is a TRUE mushroom and totally complimentary. Also received the “Jac” jacket (camel with black piping). Sized up to a 2X because of these hips and it fits perfectly. I am so glad I did this, I just love everything, just wrote QVC about this GREAT jacket – I want everyone to have it. Bless you. Toni

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s great Toni….glad to hear things are working out well.

  23. Birdie

Are there pants in chili pepper coming our way, Louis? Magnificent color! Bon Voyage!

  24. Judy

Louis, I just received the jewel neck sweater in teal and grape.
Are you going to have anything to go with the grape color?

I also received your drawstring pants in black and gray and your bodysuit in black and they look GREAT.

    Judy

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Nothing that matches…..they are accent colors to be worn with anything. I will have solid color jackets in OCT that they will look great with, but I like them under the chenille jackets, the suede jacket5s….as I said great accent pieces.

      1. Chris/Jazzmom

The teal color is in the paisley purple print scarf top and the jewel neck teal sweater looks good under it. The same for the grape. Haven’t put the grape next to the cascade chili pepper skirt, but I think the purples will look good together.

  25. Toni Fisher

Dear Louis: What a surprise, I just ordered the short sleeved turtleneck in persimmon – I have to check every hour to see these little surprises; also ordered the short sleeved in olive. Can’t wait to see the walnut and tarragon turtlenecks and pants in September, going to order. Thanks so much for all your work and patience in this crazy vocation. Toni

  26. Sherry

Do you have dates for shows in Oct, Nov, or Dec? Have a great vacation and show in the UK. thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

As of now….9/10 4pm [1 hr], 10/19 4pm [1 hr] and 10/30 4am-6am [2 hr], but from now till then things can change.

  27. Wild Rose

Louis, when can we expect the Navy mock neck short sleeve sweater (A87423) to be in stock and available to order? Thank you, and have a wonderful trip!

  28. Kate

The silk and cashmere turtlenecks in the new colors are in stock and I am raising my hand to say “yes” I am the one who decimated the XS in both hues. Not taking any chances on my size selling out(bought 3 navy and 2 ivory plus a few more navy in various sizes for Christmas gifts!

Now, if the new jewelry would appear I would be super happy (can’t wait to wear the navy pearls over the ivory turtleneck)…

  29. luvthebeach

Louis, I have many of your pencil skirts — all of the hydrangea prints & chain link prints, the black and the sage with the zipper detail and a gray twill. These particular skirts are my favorites of all time. Will you be doing more of this style of lined pencil skirt in the future?

      1. luvthebeach

Sounds great! I would love to see a leopard or python print!

  30. Enjay

    Hi Louis,

Wishing you Bon Voyage and letting you know that the clothes I ordered – scarf print top, dark mushroom broken tweed jacket, drawstring pants, feather skirts and black pleated skirt – are all fitting and fabulous!

Before you fly away, one tiny favor? We know the long WK sweater you showed with the feather skirt comes in walnut and black. Does it come in another color?

    Have a wonderful time!

  31. Tylerpoo

    Louis,

Is the A-line skirt with seaming detail be re-ordered(A221814)? and in more colors?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Tylerpoo, sorry to say it has not been reordered nor has the crepe blazer that went with it in the navy, red and ivory. I was very disappointed, I was sure they would be but, once again the returns were too high, even though there are practically none in inventory.

      1. Kate

I’m actually shocked to hear that the jacket is not being reordered despite stellar reviews. Guessing my dream of a matching navy pant is kaput. Well, if it means we get a new collection every season, I guess I can’t really complain!

      2. JazzDiva

I can’t believe this jacket is not being reordered. It is one of my favorite jackets. I have it in navy and ivory and was hoping to get it in the red as well as hoping that new colors would be added. Very disappointing. Oh well, I’m sure there will be other jackets to tempt m in the future.

  32. TourEiffel

    Dear Louis —

Bonjour! I can’t stop gushing about your gorgeous fall designs. Love all of them, particularly the various mushroom pieces. Absolutely lovely! Thank you!

Enjoy your vacation in fabulous Vienna! Have you been there before? In addition to the beautiful gardens and palaces, you might consider the following: strolling down the Kartnerstrasse (shopping street), tea at Haas and Haas tea room, Sacher Torte at Cafe’ Sacher, viewing antiques at the Dortheum (auction house), Sigmund Freud house, Augarten hand painted porcelain, and Restaurant Landtmann (not French food, but old time Vienna cafe).

Thanks again for your lovely designs.

    Kindest regards,
    TourEiffel

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I happy you are liking your new clothes!
We have never been to Vienna…..any suggestions more than welcome.

      1. Nancy

Having 2 sons and 9 of our 15 grandchildren living in Germany, we’ve been over several times and included trips all round Austria – a gorgeous country. And Vienna is a beautiful city! We know you won’t miss it, but be sure to see St. Stephens Cathedral – awe-inspiring architecture! Get out and enjoy the city on foot or take a guided bus tour. Schönbrunn Palace is beautiful and there is a fine guided tour at the opera house. Be sure to eat all you can as pastries are delectable. Look for the Linzer Torte cookies in the bakeries with the raspberry jam centers – to-die-for! And there is always delicious Wiener Schnitzel. The city positively sparkles at night! We enjoyed all the beautiful Austrian clothing proudly worn by many of the locals. The gorgeous boiled wool capes. The felt hats with the jaunty feathers on the men. Elegant and oh so Austrian. Take some time to sit at any sidewalk cafe and watch the outfits go by 🙂 We were last there at Christmas Fair time but every shop window holds many treasures and so artistically displayed. If you have extra time – on a somber note – Mauthausen Concentration Camp is not too far from Vienna by car and a sobering reminder of not-too-distant history. If there is any time for a concert – there is much wonderful music to be enjoyed in Vienna. Above all – have a marvelous time! (aka TheOwl)

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Thanks for all the tips…..LOVE Linzer Torte cookies!!!OH OH I’m in trouble just thinking about it.

          1. Barbara in Virginia

Louis, You can also take a tour in the Vienna taxi of yore, a fiaker! This is a horse drawn carriage and you can go down the Ringstrasse at a more leisurely pace than on the tram. You’ll go by lots of gorgeous buildings you won’t necessarily want to go inside to see. You can end your tour at the Hofburg, where the State Treasury is a must. Also the imperial apartments. In addition to the pastries which are always available, this is ice cream season in Vienna! Hope you have been eating LOTS of cabbage salad :-).

            1. Sherry

Starting tomorrow put those rabbit ears away for a few days and enjoy. LOL

            2. TourEiffel

Don’t forget to order apple strudel and Sacher torte (chocolate cake), two delicious desserts you’ll find on every menu in Vienna. Also, you and Jac might enjoy seeing the Vienna Boys Choir and/or Lipizzaner Stallions if tickets are available. Safe travels!

  33. Emma Pryor

This may be a silly question but I’m going to ask it anyway. (smile) Is there anywhere else you can purchase your fashions other than QVC. They sell out so fast that often times I can’t get them and they always seem to have such a limited quantity of things.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Emma,
Only QVC UK….it’s a much limited group to select from, but that’s it.

  34. DeLois

Out of all of my purchases from Louis collection, my favorite and best fitting was the long sleeved animal print dress. It skims the body and will look great with or without a belt. Fabulous for important necklaces……… Unfortunately, I loved some other items that I ordered but they were too long and I seem to be in between sizes on some. Oh how I wish we could get petite versions on these long tops as they are not flattering to me. Will there by some shorter tops and jackets coming??????
    Thanks Louis

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear DeLois,
I try to always mix short and long tops in the collection. Unfortunately QVC does not or4der true petites sizes from my collection except for an occasional pant.

  35. Cathy

    Dear Louis,

You might remember me asking for advice on a new dress, when the new Animal Print Dress was put up as a sneak peek. As a 2 – 3X pear shape; dress fitting is difficult, and separates often work best, but I long for the simplicity of a dress at times … So, totally out of character, and against all practical advice, I … took a GAMBLE on the grey Animal Print Dress. That is the most gorgeous, soft, elegant dress, and much to my surprise it fits as though you made it just for me … yippee!!! I can’t say enough good things about this beautiful dress, and would encourage anyone to give it a try 🙂 Oh, and it looks fantastic with just about any jacket over, from the black brushed cotton jacket for a business or casual look, to the clearance Black Boucle jacket I also got; that’s a million dollar look for anyone who happens to have that jacket!

Just got home from a long weekend in the Catskill woods; wore the Chili Pepper skirt to dinner and dancing, and it was perfect. I’m disappointed to report no bear sightings, and delighted to report NO slithery sightings LOL. Hope you and Jac have a fantastic trip 🙂

    Cathy in PA

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cathy….I am so happy to hear the dress worked for you. I really get troubled to recommend a style that I’m not sure will work on certain body types, and sometimes I scare people off trying something because they think, “well if he doesn’t think it will work, I won’t get it”. I think there are lots of women out there who would love to hear about your experience with the dress, so if you don’t mind, please let the women like yourself know how you feel about the dress on the QVC fashion forum. Sometimes we just have to try something to know for sure.

      1. Cathy

        Dear Louis,

I will be sure to post lots of good things about this dress at Q, both the forum threads and review section. Hadn’t gotten to it as the box came just hours before we left for the mountains. I’m off to do reviews. And yes, sometimes you just have to take the risk and gamble a bit 🙂

Bon Voyage, Cathy back in PA

  36. Birdie

    Dear Louis,

I adore your drawstring pants.. missed out on 2 colors but waitlisted. My request: Would you consider designing an elegant “sweatshirt” to complement the chic, relaxed look (even though I know the term “sweatshirt” won’t do it justice)?
    Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Why Not? I wear them all the time. I have a zip front sweat shirt in 5 ply black cashmere with a hood…..I guess you would call it a “hoodie”, thought men don’t refer to them using that term.

      1. Carol

I vote yes on a hoodie–and if it was in your silk cashmere, even better!

        crdlb

      2. Birdie

Beautiful. I vote for a Linea hoodie then. Possibly in the same fabric as the drawstring pants…? Would love to see it with deep front pockets for that extra cozy feel. Relaxed & sophisticated 🙂

  37. Birdie

    Louis,

Is there any way to get the pleats back in order in the pleated skirt? QVC’s shipping was sub-optimal… both skirts arrived a wrinkled mess with pleats “deformed”. Any advice?
    Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Hang the skirt up and with a steamer just go up and down without opening the pleats. When I received my samples they were in the same condition. I hung them over night and then with my iron ….steamed them hanging up. If all else fails, lie them flat on the ironing board, pinning them down if necessary and iron a group at a time. I know it’s a pain, but you should only have to do it once…..that’s why I say to dry clean the skirt and not to wash it.

  38. Birdie

    Dear Louis,

I just received my Linea box of goodies… and had to rush to my computer to tell you: The safari jacket (A227581) is the most delightful, easy chic jacket! THANK YOU for creating such an exceptional piece! The colors are exquisite, the cut impeccable, and the hand comfortable and elegant at the same time. This is by far my favorite Linea jacket to date. I now request a reorder for next year because I need back-ups. You’re on a roll, Louis. Keep it up 🙂

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Great!!! Don’t forget to post your comments on the Linea and Fashion forum sites.

      1. Birdie

        Will do!

  39. Debbie

Hi Louis, I read yesterday that the V-neck printed maxi dress will be offered in 2 new colors. I checked and they were on waitlist in all sizes. Today, they are gone and only the plus sizes in the older colors are available. I hope that is not the whole shipment. Please let us know if we are out of luck or there is more on the way.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

NOOOOO! They won’t be shipped until the spring. When an reorder is put into the system, for some unknown reason they post it on the site…..even if it’s not going to be avail for 3,4 or even 5 months out. Then they take it off…..again, another unknown reason…..maybe they don’t want to pre-sell to much and when the show comes around they won’t have enough for a presentation. That is exactly what happened with the navy and mushroom pant that went with the new safari jacket. So many were pre sold that they didn’t give it time for a full presentation.

  40. Dariann

    A HUGE THANK YOU

    Dear Louis,

You have definitely outdone yourself in your new beautiful fashions that you have given us in the last few weeks. They are phenomenal in design, patterns, colors, fabric and fit and I want to thank you for all that you do for your Linea Ladies.

Wishing you and Jac many happy adventures together on your trip,
    Dariann

  41. Nancy

Hi Louis: Did not want this question lost. OK to wear the navy safari jacket with the navy combo prairie skirt from June? The colors are fine. Just wanted to make sure I can transition the prairie skirt into Fall – A224713 – because I love it so much. Wanted your take on it. Many thanks! (aka TheOwl)

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Absolutely…….there are very few garments that can not be worn into the fall if they are put together in the right way.

      1. Nancy

Thanks!!!! I’m so happy to be able to extend wear on these prairie skirts as far as I can. I just love them 🙂

  42. Nancy

Louis, thank you and Jacque SO much for showing the newest safari jacket in your last show without the belt! This means SO much to those of us plus size women who don’t do well with belts – and honestly the loops are high for me so I’m removing them altogether. It looked fabulous on Jacque that way – and out loud I was saying “Thank You! Thank You! Jacque” – so I got both color jackets. They drape just as you said and are going to be very versatile. Some questions on the mushroom safari jacket: Would you treat this color totally as a neutral? So can I wear it with the brown feather print skirt? pair it up with perfectly pink, animal prints, reds, obviously browns etc? Another color question: The gorgeous navy safari jacket is looking appealing with the navy combo prairie skirt from June – A224713 – in order to stretch out my wearing of the prairie skirt (which I love) into Fall? Does that have your “blessing”? 😉
Also, would you say a word here about the plaid jacket from the most recent shows? I have it in black/white and it is truly beautiful – both in make and cut. But there has been a debate going on regarding the matching of plaids on the QVC Linea board. I have sewn – including altering garments and constructing garments for others – for many years and I know all about matching plaids. The stripes on mine do not match up on the sides but honestly this is not bothering me. Why is that? What’s different about this “plaid”? It IS driving some women nuts so they either didn’t order or will return. But this jacket is gorgeous in my view. Is that because of what you said when you described it as a “broken” plaid? Nancy ~ aka (TheOwl)

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Nancy,
The mushroom color is an absolute neutral and you can wear almost any color with it. You just have to pull it together with accessories. I have pictured the mushroom T-neck with the pink pearls, so pastels look very chic with taupe. You can wear any color from black to white and all in between.
The matching plaid debate I find very interesting. First, let’s remember we are talking about a jacket that costs under $70. This jacket would cost infinitely more money if we cut the fabric to match any better and I’m not talking perfectly matched nor am I talking $10 more. There is an enormous amount of fabric that is wasted when a garment has to be engineered to match, let alone cutting jackets from XXS to 3X. Then there is the “variation” of a woman’s body. A woman’s body is built differently from front to back….. while her back is flat…..her front is not. Therefore, the pattern shape of the front of the jacket is totally different from the back of a jacket. This makes it extremely difficult to match the front to the back at the side seam…..the bigger the difference and the bigger the plaid the harder it is to even come close to matching at the side seam. This problem, as you can understand is greatly reduced with men’s jackets. One of the reasons I chose this “broken” plaid was for that very problem of matching. Of course it becomes more evident with the black combination due to the contrast of colors, while the mushroom is more tonal and not such an issue. Again, I say this is a $69 dollar jacket not a $200 dollar jacket. I work within a dollar range that is set by QVC and this is what a $69 dollar jacket yields…..I think, IMHO, it looks quite fabulous, and I doubt anyone would think the wearer was wearing such an inexpensive jacket. I was in the malls yesterday picking up some last minute things for my trip, and Jac and I browsed. I saw jackets that were 4X the money and again, IMHO didn’t look nearly as good and didn’t match any better.I hope I have cleared up some questions……regards, Louis

      1. Nancy

Thanks Louis! I know you said that the matching is more discernable in the black and white but I still find it SO pleasing. And speaking of “neutrals” I’ve held this black and white jacket up to a fun variety of solid color dresses from fuchsia to red to golden yellow – and honestly it looks really grand with quite a wide range of contrasting colors. Now, on the safari jacket- ok to wear that gorgeous navy with the navy combo prairie skirt? 🙂

  43. Lynn

Good morning! Some of us are already dreaming about the upcoming whisper knit pants. Will they be available in various lengths [tall, average, petite]? If not, could I hem them? Thanks so much!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Lynn,
I believe they are in one length, but I will check to make sure. Yes, they can be hemmed with a blind stitch.

      1. Lynn

        Thank you so much!

      2. Sherry

        yippee!!!

  44. Heyjude

    Lous,

Wll the v-neck maxi be coming back in the Espresso comb along wth the new colors? missed out on ths one. Thank you, Jude

  45. Tylerpoo

    Louis,
Will you have WK sweaters/tops to match the dark mushroom tweed jacket? I know the feather blouse was made to match, but looking for solid colors that will match the jacket. Also, will there be a walnut top/bottom that will match the jacket?

    Thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The mushroom t-neck that sold out was designed to go with the tweed and yes there will be a few new styles in walnut that will work also. Then I would suggest some new colors that will look great under the basically brown jacket….like the caramel, deep teal and new violet…..all WK

  46. Sherry

    Hi Louis,

I remember you saying that the quilted jacket is not coming back. Sorry to hear that as I was looking to get a smaller size this year. I so dislike coats and was able to wear the black jacket layered over different combinations of the whisper knit sweaters throughout the winter. My question is: will there be a jacket coming in the next months to take it’s place? Tough question…I know. Thanks for always being here for us to ask questions.

    Sherry

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Nothing as casual. That jacket only did fair. The olive was very good but the black and bronze…..so so.I really don’t know why. I thought it really was a good piece that could go very casual or even dressy….you never know!

      1. Carol in FL

        Hi Louis,

Sorry to hear that the quilted jacket will not be coming back. I purchased it in the olive and black last year. I thought I’d wear the olive the most, but the black was the one I reached for time and again. It is perfect for Florida in our cooler times and terrific for travel. It was my go to jacket and is one of my favorite Linea pieces. When I heard that it wouldn’t be coming back I purchased another black as a back up. I never want to be without that jacket. It is so versatile. Thank you for creating it!

        Enjoy your time abroad.

        Carol

  47. nikki

    Dear Louis,
I am enjoying receiving all my things from the last show and in the process of writing reviews. Ofcourse, i am already looking forward to making new combinations. I was looking at the staw shirt, does it coordinate with the chili pepper ruffle skirt? I cannot tell, and needed your expert opinion before i make the prucharse. thankyou once again

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I’ll have to check. It’s packed for QVC UK, but I’ll get it out…no problem.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear nikki…..I put the two together and they definitely work together. The color straw and the colors in the skirt are very compatible. I would pull it all together with beads, my new color beads would do the trick and you could wear a tank in one of the colors of the skirt and maybe a leather sporty belt to balance the skirt with the top….my multi color drop earrings should be avail soon and they look great with the print and the necklaces….it would make a great outfit.

      1. nikki

That sounds great and THANKYOU for replying. That is very nice of you to upack the item to check. I went ahead and purchased it and have been looking forward to purhase the beads. THANKYOU

    3. Louis Dell'Olio

Nikki….please check the measurements. This is not a stretch fabric, and some have said it runs small. I don’t know your size….if you have a slight build or not, but it would not hurt to go up one size if you are in between sizes. If you have narrow shoulders, and a small bust then stay with your size.

      1. nikki

        Thankyou Louis,
I already have the chillipepper in this blouse, and my regular size fits me well, so i will be ordering the same. Thanks. Have a good vacation and wonderful show in London.

  48. Toni Fisher

Dear Louis: I just finished watching you on QVC UK – those jersey pants are just beautiful and it was a great video presentation (they allowed you to speak) ’twas just great. Beautiful Jac was there is the beautiful navy pants – love them. This was your Spring collection. Toni

  49. Deb/jazz

Louis, I see there are two new colors (black and green) on waitlist for the Greek maxi. Yea! Can you tell us what the combinations are?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

OH….you have months to wait……I presented 5 different combos and they picked the Black/White with Sunburst Yellow trim and Spruce Green with Violet trims….they are both very different and very pretty.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

P.S…..I know it’s a long time until they are avail. but if you are interested, it’s never too early to go on wait list. I have a feeling, with the success of the first ones, they will go quickly.

        1. Deb/jazz

My thoughts exactly–I’ve missed out on my size by not waitlisting items. Thanks for your response!

      2. Celia

Great news! I the Spruce/Violet! I love the way those colors are combined in in some of your other pieces!

        1. Kristen/spagal

Thanks Louis, love the choices of color. I have both on wait list and will end up with 4 of this amazing dress. I’m guessing this is Spring 2013, right?

  50. Sharon

Hi Louis, apparently you haven’t left on vacation yet, so have a good time and see every sit you can . My question did you say there is a suit coming in either Septmber or October? Sorry to bother you about this but I’m trying to work on my budget. THANKYOU

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

We leave Thursday! I have all kinds of suits each month, of course I am using the word suit loosely…..there are solid jackets with matching jersey separates, and tweed jackets with solid companion pieces and of course the hounds tooth jacket and matching skirt……Honestly, it’s going to be difficult choosing…..but better that than not having anything….right?

      1. Sharon

Oh Louis your breaking my heart and Bank Account, wonder if I can get a line of credit for
LINEA clothes? I have been a LINEA lady for 11years and this is your year for fashion. It’s overwhelming to want everything. I am a 1x lady and everything fits perfect. All this traveling may give you inspiration on new designs. I saw on TV in London there are really nice dress stores, so maybe shopping would be fun too

  51. Diamondscribe

    Hello,Louis.
Your wonderful pearls are up for ordering on qvc.com. I have 4 strands from last year and love them. At one time you mentioned the pearls coming in silver and bronze. Did the buyer go with these? Or, are pink and navy the only new colors we can expect this year? I would like to know to budget out how many strands I buy. I sure hope QVC at least ordered the bronze. That would be such a great addition with the colors you are showing this fall/winter. Deborah

    1. Toni Fisher

Hi Diamondscribe: Thank you for the info – I put in Louis Dell Olio Jewelry and the pearls do not come up, only if you put in Louis Dell Olio Pearls and they list, Navy, Perfectly Pink and Grey (which I ordered). But the description lists Burgundy, Gray, and Green. This is like playing the game “Clue,” thanks again, at least I got the gray. Toni

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

I just don’t think they have the funds to order everything. The pearls sold out in a nano second and the returns were miniscule.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

The buyer only bought the gray which is a repeat from last year and the new navy and pink. They did not reorder the wine and green…why?….I can’t answer….another mystery. I do have the silver and bronze pearls samples….so maybe next year?

      1. Diamondscribe

Louis, thank you for the fast reply. I will put the silver and bronze on my “next year” list and hope the buyer starts to see the sense in a brown-based pearl to go with your Byzantine jewelry and silver pearl to go with your silver knot jewelry and crosses. I am glad I got the green last year. I think they will do well with your tarragon jewelry, yes? I am surprised they didn’t go with reordering the green and burgundy options considering the colors in your other jewelry due to arrive. Maybe the buyer isn’t into mixing and matching? Deborah

  52. Chris/Jazzmom

Yesterday before we headed out to a Dave Koz concert, UPS brought my Linea from the items I chose at midnight. The mushroom plaid blazer is sexy, stylish and ‘wow’! The pattern lines up and matches where its supposed to– pocket flaps also match each other. This is the 2nd item I have received that doesn’t match the item description. The description says ‘relaxed fit’ and as soon as I put it on, I knew it was either a semi-fitted or fitted jacket in my usual Linea size! Can you tell us who determines the fit of an item for the description– you or does the person writing the online copy? In the years I have been purchasing Linea, the description of ‘fit’ has been accurate on all items purchased. One more question: I may need to shorten the sleeves on this jacket about an inch or a half inch. Due to the nature of the weave, can it be done by a professional seamstress?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Chris,
Some department at QVC is responsible for describing the clothes and writing the copy. I have no idea how they determine relaxed fit, semi fit or fitted. I thought the fit of this jacket was close to the navy, red and ivory crepe blazer from last spring and I would have said fitted, but honestly I have no idea what all of that means and what the difference is. To me, this is a fitted jacket. A semi fit follows the line of the body usually having just princess seams for shape and a relaxed fit is straighter like the safari jacket The plaid jacket has darts and shaping seams, so I would have categorized it as fitted. I don’t know if they go by certain measurements to determine how they describe it….it’s another mystery to me.I am glad it worked out for you

      1. Chris/Jazzmom

Thank you, and can these sleeves be shortened on the textured blazer without a problem?
        Chris

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sorry, I forgot that part of your question…..it’s simple as pie. There are no buttons or slits to deal with. It’s an easy job!

          1. Chris/Jazzmom

            Thank you again!!

  53. Barbara C.

    Dear Louis,

Do you suggest dry cleaning the denim jackets? Thank you.

    Barbara

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Barbara…..I know the instructions say washable, but I always feel a tailored jacket is better dry cleaned where they have professional industrial press machines……but that’s JMHO

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Or, you can wash it and bring it to the dry cleaners for a professional “press only”.

  54. Toni Fisher

Louis: Are you going to offer those berets Jac wears in all those beautiful colors; also, will QVC bring on those necklaces with little crosses in silver and gold tone – they look beautiful on Jac. Thanks, Toni

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Toni…..I have had sample berets made but there has been no interest on QVC’s part. The multi cross necklace and earring is at QVC but I don’t know when they will process it for selling.

      1. Toni Fisher

        Thanks so much Louis.

      2. Jane

        Louis,

I would love the berets you always feature during the presentations! It’s so hard to find good ones in nice colors and the ones you feature always match perfectly. I live in NYC and all winter long I wear berets so here’s my vote for them!

Still waiting for most of my order from last week placed at midnight. Such terrible service from QVC who now says the twill pants in my size have been “misallocated.” But, my plaid jacket finally shipped last night after I upgraded the UPS shipping to express. Just thought you should know what goes on.

The only items received are the drawstring pants and body suit — just love, love, love them. Perfect fit in my regular size. Great fabric — so comfy. Please try to bring them back in more colors!

Thanks for all you do for us.

        Jane

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

          Dear Jane,
I have tried to get QVC to buy berets but they are not interested….I can’t force them. I have suggested starting a “We want Linea Berets” on the fashion forum. Sometimes that does get results if enough women request them.
I have no idea what goes on in the shipping department at QVC, and truly, there is nothing I can do about it. I am glads you received your body suit and drawstring pant…..just curious….did you get your regular size or size up in the pant? Please don’t forget to leave your comments on the Linea QVC site………..regards, Louis

          1. Jane

            Hi Louis,

I ordered my regular size (ordered at midnight before the presentation where you suggested sizing up). The fit is spot on with enough comfy ease and the length is just perfect (I’m 5’9″). Love, love, love these pants. Yes, I’ve already written glowing reviews on QVC for the pants and body suit.

I totally realize you have nothing to do with the shipping — it’s just soooo frustrating especially after staying up until midnight to order!

            Again, many thanks.

            Jane

  55. Louis Dell'Olio

WOW< I'm sure you look smashing all decked out in Linea! What color scarf top and skirt did you get?

  56. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

    Louis,
I hope you do not grow weary of all our compliments. I have a luncheon to go to today and I am in head-to-toe Linea! I love the scarf top and matching skirt – my outfit for today (with Byzantine jewelry)! The herringbone suit is TDF! I received my feather pieces yesterday and am in love with those too! Everything fits beautifully (except I’m hem taping the pants as always!). You, my dear, are on a roll!! My other pieces will not arrive until next week, but that is ok – it’s August! Have fun in England and Austria. We look forward to stories and pictures.

Thank you for all you do for us – it is truly appreciated! You’re the best!

  57. Birdie

Are sequin pants in our future, Louis?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Birdie….I keep trying, but they just won’t buy them. I think the Linea Ladies will have to campaign for them. “They” think they are expensive, yes maybe for QVC, but not in the real world.

  58. Bobbie

    Dear Louis,
I just received the paisley scarf blouses and matching skirts in the pale olive and chili pepper colors and was so happy to discover how slimming they are as outfits. The ruffle detail on the side of the skirt is lovely; everything drapes so beautifully. The heat this summer is terribly oppressive, so the light weight of the paisley fabric is a gift!! I feel like I can dress nicely and stay cool for a change. (By the way, your jewelry looks like it was made to go with these outfits!)

The pale olive herringbone suit is gorgeous, so light weight and sophisticated. I can already see how versatile this suit will be in this southern climate. Also, thank you for the caramel and mushroom WK sweaters, as I really needed more neutral colors to add to my winter outfits. I’m looking forward to receiving the navy and mushroom suits, as well. I found that the number size for the herringbone pants was true to size…a great fit!

What a wonderful fall/transition collection! You simply have an extraordinary gift for knowing what women want in clothing and the designs that make all of us feel beautiful and special! I am so grateful!

Have a safe and wonderful trip!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Bobbie….I am so happy you are pleased with your “goodies”. I am especially happy the scarf top and border skirt works for you as an outfit. Don’t forget the herringbone pant works with both tops. Did you get the Byzantine beads to go with the clothes? they really work with many many things including things that are coming for my Sept fall grouping. The multi color drop earrings are at QVC and should be avail in the next two weeks……it really does take them a long time to inventory all of the merchandise that comes into their warehouses each and every day.

  59. Birdie

    Hi Louis,

Any chance your poet blouse (A213626) will be reordered, possibly in dark olive, navy, sweet potato, and p. pink as new colors?

Thanks & have a lovely weekend!

    Birdie

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Hi Birdie…..I found out today it is being reordered in all the original colors plus either black or navy…..I’m not sure which.

      1. Birdie

Perfect timing… Hope navy makes the cut. I wonder why the buyer is so hesitant to introduce more new colors, though. The poet blouse has obviously been very well received!

        1. Carol

          I vote for navy, too!

  60. Sharon Santourian-Holman

    Dear Louis 🙂

Two things: I just received a new vintage Navy silk twill tunic from the Bay-it is STUNNING!!!! I just watched the old presentation and you said this was an expensive fabric. It is lovely, love the LONG tunic length and I will get a lot of use out of it.

Second, I just received the chili border print ruffled skirt. I’m in love! This fabric drapes beautifully in my size L. I was worried I may look too hippy, but it drapes. Now I did not get the top, but tried it with the squared neck ruffled sweater and I have ordered the overlay tunic. The navy silk may also work-have to try it belted, open with my navy tank under it. Hoping that will work together also. Have to play with it…maybe I do need the matching top…IDN.:) Thank you, I am really excited-so amazing to feel this good again.:)

  61. Diamondscribe

Hello Louis, I want to let you know how much I love the new herringbone “faux linen” fabric. I’m wearing the stone pants today with your ivory T with the gold metallic edging. Over that I have on a navy ribbed cardigan with an ivory band running down the front to match the ivory T. I am sitting at work and have a full day of meetings ahead of me and my outfit is comfortable and cool – and doesn’t wrinkle! I was concerned when I first opened the package because it was so close to linen that I thought for sure it would do the same. But no…I can sit at the computer for hours and still go to meetings wrinkle-free. I sure hope these pieces do well so they get reordered and that you can add more pieces to the grouping come spring or transition. Thank you so much for the extra special effort you put into choosing fabrics.
I’m looking forward to my new Safari pants suits…
    Deborah

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That is exactly why I fell in love with this fabric. I couldn’t believe it wasn’t linen and when i tried to crush it with my hand and it was fine….that was all I need to see. I had to convince the buyer to buy this suit….it was almost dropped!!!

  62. Sherry

Hi Louis, does the neckline of the feather print blouse work with the neckline of the textured (puckered) jacket A219791? If so, I thought that would look fabulous. Would be another reason to buy the feather blouse in black as I have the jacket and skirt in black. thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sherry…..order away! I tried both pieces on my mannequin to make sure the neck lines worked and the neckline of the blouse is slightly higher than the jacket so they are perfect together. I absolutely love the texture of the jacket and the black and oxidized silver button with the feather print shirt. I have to say I was impressed myself on how great they looked together…..very expensive looking!

      1. Sherry

Wonderful, all I need to know….off to order.

  63. Semajjiman

    Hi Louis,
QVC has notified me that they cannot fulfill my order for the plaid jacket (A227574), and their website shows it is no longer available. Are you able to provide any insight as to why this happened? I’m terribly disappointed by this. Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I can only guess and don’t really know for sure. Were you on wait list or was it a confirmed order?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

What can I say….I’m really speechless. I don’t understand this myself. What I do know is this…..all of the jackets ordered were shipped on time, NO short shipments and they were all inventoried and ready to go before the show aired. First, when I read your message, I thought maybe they give priority to the orders taken during the show and not the midnight orders…. since this is a problem I have heard before on orders placed at midnight. However, since this is also happening with orders placed during the show…..I really don’t know what to say except I am terribly sorry. My manufacturer and I work very hard to make sure everything is as good as we can possibly make it and then to find out that it isn’t even getting to the women who want it is very disheartening for us also. I don’t have a clue how it is decided who gets an item that has obviously been oversold. I doubt very much that a human sits there and decides. It is probably done randomly by computer….at least that’s my guess….Semajjiman, I am very very sorry this has happened and I hope it hasn’t soured you to my order my clothing again…I do try my best to please everyone…….regards, Louis

          1. Semajjiman

            Dear Louis,

Thank you again for replying so speedily. I have never felt the blame belonged with you, but QVC. I just thought you may have known why they were doing that. And oh, no, this has definitely NOT soured me – as long as you design, I will order. 🙂

            1. Toni Fisher

Dear Semajjiman: QVC is ordering short, you will hear repeatedly “when this sells out we will not get it back.” Years ago, they would reorder, not today, they want no inventory. QVC, I think, is in trouble – the poor service and things that happened to you happens repeatedly. My black multi-feathered blouse supposedly shipped 8/3 and has not yet arrived (8/8), they tell me now it’s 8/14. That’s past the 10 day they promise “seven to 10 days” – I buy everything Louis has because QVC is losing vendors because they “got to big to fail” as I wrote to Mike George, CEO. Next time, keep calling Customer Service over and over again to ensure your order is filled.

            2. Semajjiman

Thanks for that input Toni – I appreciate it! I too, buy everything Linea – this line is absolutely superb!!!

  64. Toni Fisher

Louis: Not your fault, but the a.m. show on 8/6 was awful with Jayne & Pat, they didn’t sell your product, very flat and dull people. QVC should never schedule two shows almost back to back, they keep switching shows, changing items – people are giving them bad reviews and returning products. My Post Office told me they get hundreds of returns a week. I only order your line and refuse to buy anything from them anymore. Plus returing a product with their label costs $6.95 (which they deduct from your returned product) and when I pay myself it only costs $2 to $3, Post Office says they are making money on S&H. I believe Mike George, CEO of QVC is doing a poor job compared to Mr. Segal who respected the viewers. Your Sept. show with Jill will be good because she desribes a product inside and out and offers good advice and respects the designer. I have yet to receive the black multi blouse; the mushroom never shipped so I complained to Cust. Ser. and they overnighted UPS free of charge. Just received today, 8/7. I only watch your shows. Toni

  65. Birdie

    Dear Louis,

Glad to hear you and Jac can relax now.
Are the posts of the Byzantine earrings made of stainless steel, are they 14K clad…? I’m a little sensitive and want to make sure they’re fine. Love the Byzantine necklaces, btw.

    Thank you.

    Birdie
