Hey Louis,
can’t tell you how much I love the faux shantung jacket. it’s so comfortable and the compliments keep comimg. i love your designs.F
Dear Beryl, I’m happy to hear you are enjoying your jacket.
Dear Louis,
Wondering if you will be posting a sneak peek of what’s coming in the morning show and pm style for Monday, July 22?
Thanks, Cathy in PA
How did you find out about the July 22nd appearances???:? I just found out yesterday. There is a new item on the PM style show which I will sneak peek. The morning show are things you may have seen shown in a new way or with some new sneak peek items……just to make it interesting.
Ladies never tell LOL … Look forward to the sneak peeks when you’re ready 🙂 Thanks!
I think Louis needs to friend his wife on Facebook! LOL
Hi Louis! I’ve been out of touch recreating, but I’m really enjoying your photo shoot from your summer collection. I think you and Jac should do a fall photo shoot from some exotic location as well, and then one for every collection. I’m loving the Feather Jersey! I’ve been looking at my Orchid tank thinking that I had something in my Linea closet to match, and I found it. The shantung jacquard floral jacket A198820 in Orchid from a few seasons back looks spectacular with it. I just ordered the FJ petite maxi, which is a phenomenal fit, and the petite pants in Orchid to match. I haven’t tried the Seafoam jacket with the Smoke FJ yet, but that’s next on my list. Your summer collection was the best yet!
Well, thanks for the idea, I went online, and there was one left in my size! Orchid is my favorite color. (On clearence too!)
Louis,
I am on my iPad and visited my QVC app. On one section it allows you to pick your favs in all the categories, i.e.fashion, beauty, etc. I immediately scrolled to find Linea and your line was not included in the list of designers for whom we could vote. It
was a relatively short list. Perhaps I missed something, but don’t think so…thought you might want to ask your fashion person at the Q. I dropped customer service a note about my confusion that you were not included give your designs are mostly 5 stars! Must say your feather knits are brilliant, as are the Thyme and Black cardigans. So happy I got the last two….perfectly chic for air conditioned buildings…numerous compliments on all of your cardigans, even the prints from earlier this year…it is the design and fabric….thanks so much for always giving us exceptional pieces. Just wore the black cardigan with white camisole and your Tobacco print cropped pants, black patent flats…looked really cute if I say so myself!
HI, Louis! I notice that your satin back faux crepe blouse is up for ordering in the new colors of Boysenberry and Teal. This blouse is a favorite of mine, and I have it already in all three of the original colors. I suspect that “Boysenberry” has my name on it :-). Can you give a hint or two of what other upcoming things will be in Boysenberry? I will be in Jamaica at our youngest’s wedding during your upcoming show and of course don’t want to miss out on something I will need down the line. Thanks so much!
What is the number for the faux crepe blouse? I have not been able to find it. Thanks.
I believe the number is A219796
Thank you very much!
Later in the season there will be a new tweed jacket that has the Boysenberry in it. The tweed is in the family of last year walnut and tarragon tweeds, but the fabric of this one was even more expensive
Dear Cory….first the teal blouse looks great with the skirt and I will be showing it they way, plus many Whisper Knit sweaters. Then there is the reorder teal sweater with the grey ribbon trim….which I called my “shabby chic” sweater. I don’t remember the actual name. There will be more to go with it also.
Thank you, Louis. I will look for the teal crew neck cardigan #A228340 to come back in my size. I am anxious for your next show!
Be still my heart, Louis!!! I’ll get this ordered for sure before we go. I adore both tweed jackets I got last year. Thanks!!!
Dear Louis:
Will the Online Silk/Cashmere sweaters be available for early Fall purchase? (I’m one of those who has their Xmas shopping done by Oct!)
TIA
Dear Pamela…..by Oct. you will have all of your Christmas shopping done……………..get ready and save your pennies….the fall samples are arriving and they look incredible! Right up your alley!!
You are killing me! I can’t decide if it is good or bad….
It’s all good…..and for what they are……… unbelievably priced……….
Can’y you just give us one little hint? Is there a long sleeved v-neck sweater? 🙂
crdlb
Yes…..the long sleeve V-neck,sweater is being reordered and in two new colors…..there are lots of new WK SWEATERS COMING
I want to order A232657 in the gray and the blue. The question is size. I normally wear small. Should this be sized up?
NO…..I just read all of the reviews….well almost all……….. and no one said it ran small or big. Unless you have unusually big upper arms, which I don’t think you do….I see no reason why you should order anything but you correct size….maybe some of the ladies who own this would like to comment?
Dear Louis,
Thank you so much for your explanation regarding the sleeve. I feel much better about it. I thought it was sloppy tailoring because the sleeve was not taken up evenly. I look forward to wearing the set.
Hi Louis,
I have a designer detail question regarding A233854 – Printed Drape Front Jacket. Because I am 5ft 2in tall I had to shorten the sleeves. When I picked it up from the tailor, the sleeves were not traditionally even all the way around, but longer in the front. I didn’t expect this, because the sleeves were so long on me unaltered, I didn’t notice such a detail. Is that the way they should look -on a slant so to speak? Or did the tailor make a mistake? I appreciate your answer. Thanks.
Dear Bcm…..if you notice the picture on line….the sleeve bottom is slightly slanted…..it is the type of sleeve. If he just shortened it an even amount, you will still have the slant. To avoid the slant, he would have had to pin the length while you were wearing it and hem it OFF GRAIN. The slant is normal for this type of straight sleeve. To avoid a slant I would have had to put an elbow dart, but for this type of soft drape jacket, that would not have been a good option. It’s almost like a kimono sleeve….the hem is straight, but when you put it on, due to the way the sleeve is set in….it’s shorter on the outside and longer on the inside. Of course this sleeve is a less exaggerated version. I hope this satisfies your question.
Hi Louis…..After seeing your fall transitions, how do you think A232657 in the black/gray jacket would look with the FJ gray pants and tank? Would the gray be ok together or are they too different? Can’t wait for our next surprises!
Dear sandi….I checked the grays together and they are too different. The heather grey of the stripe is a cool grey, whereas the grey of the FJ is a warm gray which means it has a drop of yellow in it…….too bad, they would have been perfect together.
Good morning Louis! I just received the teal boho. Does it coordinate with the Teal jacket A229475? I only have that jacket in violet right now. This is such an unusual teal shade. It is lovely! It looks great with the tarragon tweed from last year, really brings out the teal in that mix. Can we expect some print tops to wear with this? Many thanks, as usual!
Will there be ponte knit jackets/pants coming in this teal color? The boho skirt is a lovely color!
What do you suggest wearing with the teal boho? I can’t wait to get mine.
Hi Louis,
Your vacation pictures were lovely. It looks like you and Jac got some well deserved rest and relaxation. I was wondering when the pebble crepe top with pockets will be available? The top is fabulous and I hope it is being reordered.
Dear Pat, the pebble crepe top has been reordered, but I’ not sure what month it will be avail……I think March???
New color??? I would love some tanks in this fabric, or should I have hem made out of tunic?
The new color is OLIVE……..which will”match” the olive boho skirt. There are no tanks coming in this fabric.
I love this top, can’t wait for the olive! Thank you.
That’s excellent news!
I’m very late to the Pebble Crepe party, however my Chili Pepper has traveled to San Jose, Costa Rica & San Miguel, Mexico – PERFECT!
Another great travel piece!
Thanks for posting the pictures of your vacation. After seeing Jac looking so gorgeous, I had to order a few of the outfits she was wearing. I’m loving the feather jersey too! I really hope you continue to use the fabric.
Hello Louis,
To let you know – I think the Feather Jersey fabric is my favourite! I have 2 pants, a long skirt, the tunic with front pockets – and just received the button front 3/4 sleeve shirt (Hemp & Smoke). It does not stick to any part – even in humid weather. It’s light and so comfortable – AND – you always look great because it does not wrinkle! A dream to wash & dry.
Will be ordering a few more pieces – just in case!
Thank you for bringing us such wonderful designs & fabrics.
Seka.
Dear Seka…..glad to hear you are enjoying your FJ pieces. I highly recommend the T-shirt…..it hs become Jac’s go to piece in all the colors. She wears them to the gym over her workout clothes and just going to the movies and out to dinner. We just saw “Superman” and “The Heat”. Super man was good, not great , but worth seeing……..we both loved the bad guy. Warning!!!! if anyone sees “The Heat”……….the language is quite raw.
Dear Louis,
I am just bubbling over with excitement for my Feather Jersey piece, the Button Front Shirt (A233964) in smoke! From its photo I suspected and ardently hoped that it would look as I imagined it. It not only did that, it LOOKED BETTER. Louis, I am so impressed by your way with fabric – my FJ shirt is a visual and tactile delight. I’ll confess that I in no way expected something this attractive. I have now purchased the shirt in aqua as well as Tank with Side Slits (A233962)in aqua. The weight is perfect for air conditioned venues or slightly cool evenings. FJ, surpisingly, is a very rich-looking piece, even though it is not made of a traditional textile. I cannot believe how pleased I am by FJ.
What beautiful Linea jewelry can we expect to see in your July show? Cannot wait!!sfp8
Dear Bcmm…..for July, I will be offering a necklace of multi strands of seed beads. There will be two colorations…..a multi color and a neutral coloration.
Louis, on the re-order pearls, there is “olive” and “green” listed. You previously had a green color last year, which one is the new color and can you please describe the difference.
Thanks
Dear Tylerpoo…….I do not believe the “green” is coming back…though .it really should have been reordered. It was a forest blue green. One of the new pearl colors will be OLIVE….a true olive color…..love them on there own to go with olives or contrasted with autumn colors….wine, camel.purples, fuchsia, rust, sienna, browns etc. They will also look great combined with other pearl colors….old and new such as…. BRONZE
Now Louis……we know we are WEEKS away from the next show. We know we can’t have any sneak peaks yet. However, can you share with us your color pallet, maybe a description or two. Very curious, of course.:)
There really is no one color pallet…..each month will feature a totally different group of clothes, and group of colors……July will feature………….PUTTY,<BLACK< FUCHSIA< CARIBBEAN BLUE<NUTMEG< CHERRY< OCEAN BLUE< COCOA BROWN< BOYSENBERRY and TEAL
Thank you! Sounds great 🙂
Hi Louis, Can you tell me if your asymmetrical drape neck tunic top, A231143 will be coming back in more colors and/or more stock at least? thanks!
Dear debby…………….I’m sorry to say that top has not been reordered, so whatever still remains in inventory will be the final quantities.
Those tunics are my favorites! I have all three colors, what a shame no reorders.
I agree – love that top – bought it in the blue originally and managed to stalk the Q and pick it up in the black too!
Hi Louis,
Loved your vacation pix. Say your wife in A233187 & wanted it. Unfortunately, they are sold out in my size.
I carry weight in middle, bottom is narrow. Do you think I could size down to a small – usually a medium in your tops.
Will you be bringing back?????
Thanks for all you do.
Dear njlady…..I think it would be fine to size down one size since there is a lot of flare to this top. Just compare the shoulder measurement with tops you own. You would never wear it all buttoned at the neck and would probably leave one or two buttons at the top opened, so there should be no problem. I don’t know if it will be a reorder yet. It has sold very well and there is a wait list, but it all depends on the % of returns.
So sad. By the time I read your answer – the size was sold out. Now there is no stock left SO…
I hope they reorder.
Loved your vacation pictures. Have to say that I am just back from St. Paul de Vence. Stayed at a beautiful farm house,(L’Hameau) ate at the Colomb d’or every night and saw fabulous museums in Vence, Antibes and Nice.
Wearing Linea, of course.
Now, that sounds like a fantastic trip!
Hi Louis,
What beautiful pictures of your vacation! Thank you for sharing.
I would like to know if you will every bring back your Linea Twill Crop Pant (A10370) in black? I have never had a crop pant fit as well, nor look as classy, as this one. I have had a white pair for several years–and need black.
Thank you.
Hi Louis,
Okay it seems like forever since you were on the Q! And we still have 4 weeks….. So can you give us just state a couple of items coming for the 30th! New pants, jacket, WK? I just picked up the black drawstring skirt and jacket and the black and navy button up cardigans in WK. But I am excited about things to come. New fall trends are exciting..
thanks for all you do.
Sincerely,
Debbie
ps. great vacation pictures…
I have a question and a request. I have purchased your V Neck Sequin dress and I love it! The fit is fabulous. I am hearing that is it probably not a good choice to wear for an early September beach wedding (I’m mother of the groom). What is your opinion? Can you direct me to other options? I wear a plus size and do not like my upper arms exposed.
My request: Would you please consider making the V Neck dress without the sequins? I’ve never worn a dress with such a wonderfully flattering fit!
Thank you!
Pam
Second her request for an un-embellished version of this lovely dress!
And would love to see it either with or without sequins in sapphire blue.

I just have to comment on my knit capris from last year!. These are the most comfortable thing in my closet! It is horribly warm and humid lately, I had jeans on earlier. I could not wait to change back into these capris when I returned home! I also have the white ones from this year, but love these because they less of a legging type. Because of that styling, they are cooler, at least to me they are. One of my best purchases! I hope this style makes a return next year….I will buy all colors.
Dear Sharon, I am sorry to say that the legging will not be reordered due to high returns. I was very surprised to hear about the high returns as there are few few in inventory, but what can I say….high returns equal….no reorders.
NO!!! I think some women persist in ordering in two sizes, despite being aware of what returns mean for bringing an item back.
I know! Well, I just went shopping at stores, paid more . That’s shame, such a simple pull on capri. Looks so nice.
Hi Ladies
Check out the Linea shorts on the – Lunch time specials.
Dear Louis,
Yesterday, I wore the Black Watercolor Dress on a VERY warm PA day, to my favorite nephew’s wedding. Felt cool and sassy all day, even after making 10 bowls of punch (my husband’s much requested specialty) and keeping one eye on 6 year old grandson and ring bearer, who helped me choose the dress colors to order. I walked past him and he jumped up, yelling over the music “MomMom, you’re wearing the Black Dress … it came … it looks BEAUTIFUL!” Yep, he’s a keeper LOL. I was so pleased with the 2 dresses after the minor alterations I had done, went back for the third color. Thank You, you helped make my day perfect!
LDO–I wore my new windbreaker this week to a meeting (hemp) and the very well dressed women who was leading the event asked me if it was Gucci. I thought she might fall over when I told her it’s from QVC and cost about 50 bucks! May I begin now to lobby for black?!!!
Dear Kate….if it gets reordered and they want a new color, black will be high on the list, however, I heard some would have loved it in white too
That works for me!
What’s your preference?
I’d have to go with black because it better spans seasons than white. I can see wearing this jacket in black even into the winter but for me, white says summer and ivory would be an option, but that just seems too dressy for such a casual design. Personally I want this in a black suit.
i’m celebrating my 61st anniversary. Tonight I’m wearing the black boho skirt, the tank top and the black lace jacket. It’s fabulous. You’re designs are for any age. Thank you.
Happy anniversary from Anguilla!
i felt like a millionairre
Hi there Louis and Jacque,
Just a quick note to ask if you will bring back the red riding jacket with the velvet collar. I had this outfit, wore it while on a trip, and left it at the hotel, of which the whereabouts was never discovered when I called back and realized my stupidity. Also, looking forward to a reorder of the LS whisper knit tunic and pants for the fall. I ENJOY every fall and winter season to wear outfits I purchased several years ago, and they are still in style. Of special thought are
the suede jackets with the design on the front and matching skirts. Lucky me, bought them in all the colors you came out with at that time and they are as beautiful today as back then. My favorite is the green and purple. YOUR WORKMANSHIP IS SUPERB. I am a PLUS size, one x, and I do not want to look like some ones grandmother even though I am in my seventies. Enjoying the new jersey knits as well as my beautiful floral dress in the violet and purple. Looking forward to hearing from you. ENJOY YOUR VACATION. LOUISE
Dear Louise……………I am not bringing the riding jacket back as it was, but I will be bring a similar style in a riding PLAID/CHECK.
I too am wild about that riding jacket. I was too late to get it in the red but have it in the Fawn color. That 4-button front styling is a dream on the plus size figure! Add the snazzy velvet trim and the nice length of the jacket – it was just a classic winner!
Tally ho! That sounds fabulous.
So sorry, my earlier question should have referred to the LDO black lace jacket!
Dear Mr Del Olio,
When will you be bringing back more of your black kace jackets in size large on QVC? I already have the jacket in the pink and the green, and I do so need to get the black in a size large. Hope you’ll be restocking that very soon!
Dear Audrey….not this year. If it should be reordered it will take at least a year.
When is your next show going to be on QVC?
As LDO is currently sunning himself under a tropical sky, I’ll fill in here: July 30, 2AM (yes, the time is terrible, but its going to be all or mostly all new fall).
Louis, there is a seller on ebay “Treasures of Asia” that sells quite a few of your items. There is a jacket list right now, that is identical to you windbreaker jacket. The color is a natural, or nude color. Could this be a sample or a fake? Also listed is a dress none of the ladies has ever seen, a striped cap sleeve dress in orange/walnut.
Hope your manufacturers aren’t stealing your designs!
Dear M Kellogg…..I don’t know who this seller is, but I think they are selling fit samples because they are always size small or 1x….however,….a word to the wise….the final fit corrected samples are held until the production is shipped, so these items may not fit properly.
Hi Louis!
Can you please make a denim “black” jean jacket and either use item A232350, that you had earlier this year in the white, navy & bold yellow or one of your choosing. Just please make it around 27″ long. I have just about every color in denim jackets, but do not have a black one and I wear a lot of black.
I did buy your new blush jacket you came out with last month; love it, but still am waiting for a little deeper pink jacket; more the color of the peony (button all the way up) jacket still showing on the Q.
Thanks, Louis!
Thanks!
Dear Mr. Dell’Olio,
Good afternoon! My name is Sunil Narayan and I hope you are having s lovely Monday. I have been wanting to get in touch with you for quite some time. Your philosophy when it comes to dressmaking resembles couturiere Madeleine Vionnet. I believe in your principle and hold it dear to my heart. Women need to be able to have a varied selection of clothes to look through because they go to work, they go to the grocery store, they go to dinner parties, museum shows, to the dentist, etc. To buy a dress that is extravagant in appearance, as in, too big to fit through a door, no woman would wear it to a lavish dinner party. People can’t socialize with a person dressed like that. I would love to interview you one day and provide exposure for a new collection. If you ever need one, let me know. Thank you, sir.
Respectfully,
Sunil P. Narayan

Do not buy Men’s or Women’s luxury watches too cheap because the possibility of fraud is
always present. Leather straps and plain metal bands go best with office wear while the gem-studded watches are
ideal for formal parties and other elegant events.
Plus it’s easier to find a watch that goes with nearly everything when you choose the better brands.
Dear Louis,
Enjoy your lovely respite in the islands. I have a request if you are taking for colors for next spring/summer in the safari shirt and matching tank (A214117)– could the colors royal purple (maybe to match the previous offered purple boho skirt?) and turquoise be added to the existing line up?
‘See’ you next month!!
Regards,
Chris
I love both those colors.
Navy and aqua/turquoise in that beautiful blouse/tank combo would be divine!
Whenever and wherever you read this, I got my Black and Blue watercolor dresses today, and I am delighted! They are more wonderful than I’d hoped; lovely colors that go with so many jackets, shrugs, sweaters … Just love these; wish I’d ordered the Hibiscus too. Wore the Black dress this evening (with the coral TSV jacket) to a private party at a jewelry shop and it was just right, but flirty and sassy too. Yes, I managed to find a few new pieces there to go with the dresses LOL … Thanks!
Louis, at the risk of sounding too techno-challenged, I am wondering if there is a way to scroll backwards on the Ask Louis pages? NOT the monthly pages with the Sneak Peaks – but the “Ask Louis” tab where people pose questions directly to you on a variety of topics. I’ve wondered this often when we are traveling and I miss a number of “pages” of questions and responses. Is there such a feature on this site?
I’m challenged in that department too, I not sure but I don’t think you can go back. I don’t see anything that would indicate you can.
Nancy, someone mentioned this before. Try on the right side of this page, down where it says Meta, then click on Entries RSS or Comments RSS. See if this helps.
Thank you Debbie. I tried “Entries RSS” and it gives me the photo archives and comments under the sneak peek pictures which we can already get easily on the site. Then I tried “Comments RSS” and it gives me the same limited listing of only the most recent questions of Louis and his comments as we can now get on the site under “Ask Louis”. You can, however sign up for a “Feed” but so far all that gives me is still the limited info we can see on the “Ask Louis” page – nothing back historically other than the absolute most recent questions. Still puzzling over why we can’t access older questions posed to Louis on this site.
I watched your show on qvc on 6-11 all the models were wearing your station cross necklace but could not find on qvc. can you tell me where to get it? thanks love all of you collection
Dear Pam…..I think you are referring to the fine chain necklace with the 5 small crosses hanging from it. That cross has been reordered and will be avail. sometime in Sept-Oct.
thank you for answering me so quickly and I will be ordering when it is avail. I hope you are having a great vacation
My other note to you disappeared so apologies for a new post but wanted to tell you I also received my sweet little purple poncho today. Love it over the navy denim skirt! Will be sure to review. Enjoy your vacation!
Can the Faux Shantung Jacket in blue be worn with the V-neck Maxi Dress in the blue combo?
Thanks!
I think the shantung jacket is too much with that particular dress. I do love it with the Russian print dress in the blue combo
Hi Louis:
That was really, really NICE of you to give “On Air” mention. Kate looked great in the Tobacco Paisley Skirt w/Tweed! I’ve been a student of Fiber Arts (weaving) since a teenager, so combining textures & playing with Colour comes natural. Of course, you keep your Linea line So cohesive whereas one collection intersects with the next – that makes styling Linea SO very easy! AND, that’s what makes YOU a Fashion Legend ‘in my eye’, plus the mere fact that you stay true to yourself!
Thank you LDO!
p.s. Have a great vaca & keep your eye on your Ipad! My was stolen last trip passing thru SeaTac on way to San Diego. With the aid of airport security & Apple’s ICloud tracking app-my thief was caught & my property returned. Here’s the link in case you’ve never heard? It’s FREE & an easy install……Have Fun in the Sun.

Dear Pamela…..so glad you got to hear my “shout out”. I thought you may have gone out on the boat fishing……or to some exotic place!
Been so busy with work & travel this week – haven’t viewed your recent taped shows yet; however the online video of the paisley skirt is there! Looking forward to arrival of the Aqua/Black + Walnut/Tobacco – Love Paisley prints.
And here’s wishing a Big ‘ol Halibut is waiting for my hook & line on Prince William Sound tomorrow!
Louis, thank you for styling the former TSV jacket on your most recent show with all of the different color options for what to wear with the various color jackets for summer. I took actual written notes on that one segment and have been back to replay the online video again and again. Since I have every color in that jacket – having just picked up the last one in black – I have been enjoying shopping for the various colors you featured with them in feather jersey. I held off on the feather jersey – though I do have all of the cowl neck ones – but when I saw them styled with the peplum jacket, I think I bought another tank and another dolman sleeve option to try the whole color array. For summer, of course I love the TSV with white – and in skirts, the white pleated skirt and/or the white boho skirt. Really appreciated all the ideas you offered in just that one segment let alone the whole rest of your 2 hour presentations! Happy Vacationing.
Hi Nancy…..when I originally showed the TSV jacket, of course I show the up sell WK matching sweaters, but they sold out so quickly and many were upset that they didn’t have the “matching ” pieces. I can’t say it enough….you all do yourselves a dis-service if you don’t experiment with your clothes and mixing colors. The way I just showed all of the TSV jackets was exactly that. Not one of them was with the WK up sell sweater and I thought each and every combination looked fresh and exciting……even more so than the matching sweater. I have to say, this PLEA with women to experiment with mixing colors, I have made for my entire career as a designer…….and still many are afraid or unsure…..it really is fun and liberating…..so I’m glad you took notes, because the more you do it the more natural it will become…….regards, Louis
LDO–the new shantung pieces arrived today and totally exceeded my albeit lofty expectations for your clothes. The jacket is a miracle in that its casual enough for jeans and chinos, but I could toss it over a black sheath and go to dinner or the theater and look elegant. I knew I’d love the green, but the hemp is a happy surprise. I can look washed out with that kind of neutral around my face, but there’s something in this color that’s flattering (a touch of pink, maybe?). You deserve extra props for the edgy gunmetal hardware on the hemp that makes it very downtown. If there is any way we can have a black skirt to wear with all three jackets, I would be in heaven. In the meantime, I ordered all three skirts and they’re spectacular–they really do look like silk. Just could not be more pleased. The Russian watercolor dress came yesterday and I am wearing it today!
Dear Kate……I knew, or at least hoped, you would like the shantung pieces even more when you received them….I am relieved to hear your comments. Were you able to snag the smoke tank in the FJ….it is just so perfect with the hemp and the gunmetal hardware. We, or should I say I, just finished packing for our trip…..Jac thinks I do a better job at it…..years of training. With all the Feather Jersey pieces, the cotton floral shorts and the crushed gauze dresses and big shirt, she has a lot more room left over, but she doesn’t need anymore and has more than enough for two weeks. Have you tried the FJ short pull-on skirt….it is lined like the maxi skirt, and it’s light as. I highly recommend it………….I’ll post my postcards when we get back.
Just a funny story for you today, from yesterday’s 2pm show. So, my little (just turned 6 this weekend) very rough and tumble grandson was playing on the floor while I was trying (unsuccessfully) to narrow down the Russian dress to 2 colors. I finally threw up my hands and asked him to come look on my computer screen and help me pick out 2 colors. He loves to help, and first selected RED of course, but on carefully looking at all 3 colors said “You should buy that Blue one and that Black one” and didn’t change his mind … so I did. He went back to playing “Pirates attack Trains” (when grandma has pirate toys and toy trains, what’s a boy to do). I went back to looking at the show, some videos and a little real work, when he JUMPED up, grabbed my arm and yelled “LOOK, MomMom, look at that beautiful blue dress … you must buy that one too!” The Blue Floral Tiered Dress, back in my size … so … I did LOL.
Bon Voyage to you and Jac; have a fantastic time on your beach vacation 🙂
Hi Louis,
Great shows yesterday! I purchased the crepe blazer in all 3 colors (red, navy, and aqua) and love the fit and classic styling.
In looking forward to spring of 2014 would you please bring us jackets, skirts, pants, capris, dresses in your wonderful polished cotton fabric (97% cotton/3% spandex)? I love that fabric. It feels so good against the skin. The window pane jacket (A223937) in white with black is one of my absolute favorites. Please offer more clothes in this cotton fabric. Thank you!
Have a wonderful vacation. Will be looking forward to all the new things you’ll be bringing us when you return.
Carol
Happy to see the Q giving some airtime to Feather Jersey yesterday! Knew people would love it once they saw it presented rather than depending on the Q’s hideous images. The smoke tank was not even on my radar until you showed it with the new hemp shantung jacket and skirt. Of course, I had to have it. Great shows yesterday. Hoping you have a wonderful, relaxed vacation and enjoy a few weeks of downtime before the July 30 show.
I think black Shantung would look great, but I’m not sure if it mike look like a charcoal grey…..would have to get a lab dip. I agree…..even though the jackets did very well, the crepe and the shantung, I though the timing was late…..only my “fashionistas” are thing ahead to early fall…..That would give my wife a knot in her stomach…..thinking about going back to school. This was her favorite time of the year…….school just ending and the WHOLE summer ahead……..I guess that’s why she graduated t 16……I married a smart one…..better that way…LOL…….You had better take a good nap before the July 30th show….it’s on at 2AM!!! and it’s mostly new pre FALL.
Hi Louis,
I have your beautiful tailored jacket (A233851) in both the pink and bamboo colours and the matching pants (a233852). What a classic set. Would you consider doing this wonderful jacket in black/white? In a heavier fabric for Fall?
Thank you for making such wonderful classic cloths.
Dear Margo…….Fall 2013 is complete and already into production, so I’m afraid that request will have to waist awhile.
Wonderful shows–but what else would we expect from Louis and his entourage! I’ve bought at least one of everything and can’t wait for the pyramid to arrive. Enjoy your vacation! We’re all anxiously awaiting the great jewelry pieces you showed today.

Enjoyed your shows Louis……. there are so many good suggestions for putting things together……. I think I dozed of a few times during the 5 a.m. (our time) show this morning, but wide awake this afternoon…… my girl friend made her first Louis purchase……… the knit jacket…… I think she will love it…….. Do have a great vacation …… hope the weather is good….. we finally had one day without rain…… Thanks for all you do for us…..
Louis and Jac,
Great show! Everyone looked fabulous. The hour really flew by and was so much fun to watch. Enjoy your vacation and see you in July!
Julia
Dear Louis,
Would you consider making a faux shantung pencil skirt and capris in black? I think they would fly out the door! They would look great with all five of your faux shantung jackets (2 styles, 5 colors total) and your featherknit tops.
Thank you! Thanks for the beautiful show this morning!
Deborah
Dear Deborah, I would certainly like a skirt in the black shantung, but the skirt only sold fair so I doubt they will consider that, and since the fabric has zero stretch, they would never buy a pant of any kind, and my manufacturer doesn’t want to make pants in this fabric. We made one in the past and they had HUGE returns…..very difficult to fit unless you have a perfect body
That is unfortunate because its not the clothes, is the timing. Had this been offered earlier it the year in time for Easter, Mother’s Day, early summer weddings, it would have sold much, much better. I bought all three skirts and the jacket in two colors with an eye toward early fall dressing, but most women are now thinking about the 90 degree days ahead! I hope you find a way to give us shantung suiting in black.
Hi Louis,
I was interested in purchasing your printed cardigan in the coral. The navy is sold out. What colors in the whisper knit sleeveless styles would you suggest to go along with the coral? The colors on the computer are misleading. Thanks so much.
The colors in the WK are Fiesta colors and too bright for the colors in the coral sweater. The coral WK sweater that was sold with the TSV ponte jacket works and has been reordered for next spring. The only thing I could suggest is a n off white, unless you can find a T-shirt in one of the pale colors.
Hi Louis: I am writing from the deck of a river cruise ship in the town of Vidin, in Bulgaria….. I managed to snag , from the preshow postings (on easy pay,no less!!!!) two of the ruffle skirts, two of the new jackets a poncho and the gray toned dress. Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy figuring out the time difference here to the US and remembering east coast difference from my Ca. Home time. Where there’s a will…. Last night I wore, and received compliments, on the lotus tank set and can’t wait to break out the other items I’ ve brought. You made pacing so easy. We are to end the cruise in Budapest, which now seems unlikely because the water is so high we can’t fit under the bridges. So disappointing, but what can you do..then on to Vienna Either way, I’ll look great! Thanks for all you do….come to Laguna Beach, Ca and well have cocktails at the Montage and watch the sunset. You and Jac would love it!
easy
Dear Dodie…..sounds like you are having a wonderful time in spite of the high waters…..thanks for the invitation….it sounds like a beautiful place.
Hi Louis,
I have in my notes that you have a boucle cardigan in thyme, white, and black coming. Will this be in the June show? Thanks!
Carol
Dear Carol…..I think you are referring to the A233859, gauze cardigan in the black, white and thyme. That has aleady been shown and is avail now for ordering. Some have ordered down a size. Frankly, I like the way it fits as is, but if you like things to fit smaller there is no harm in ordering down a size. I think these are the perfect summer cover ups.
Thanks for the clarification, Louis. I’ll be watching tomorrow. Have a safe trip and thanks again, for all you do!
Carol
A234414 The Feather Jersey Print Dress inspired by the Russian Impressionist is available NOW – as of midnight Sunday Night! It’s being offered on 5- easy payments…
The measurements on the size chart for this dress seem smaller in the chest and the waist than is normally listed in Linea fashions. Could you tell us if this fits as usual if we order our usual size? TIA.
Dear Breee, I did not find my samples fitting any smaller than anything else. If you got one of the tie dye dresses, I certainly wouldn’t buy it any larger than that. There is an elastic at the raised waist so that may be the reason for a smaller measurement. The dress is in the feather jersey, which is very light weighr weight and has stretch to it anyway. If you are not exceptionally large in the chest, I see no reason to order up a size. I have asked my manu. to comment about your question and I will let you know what they say……if they can get back to me before I leave for PA.
Dear Breee….my manufacturer has gotten back to me already, and they say to buy your normal size. The reason for the smallish measurements is the elastic holding it in [as I thought], but it is not small….there is stretch.
Thanks so much Louis. I do have two of the tie dye dresses in my normal size. I will order my normal size in the blue which I can wear with the limonge blue ponte knit jacket.
As a public school teacher (7th grade) living near Seattle, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your transitional pieces. My need for true summer ( career ) separates is minimal;therefore, anything leaning toward fall is wonderful! Thank you for keeping me away from Nordstrom, yet not sacrificing style and quality.
Dear Theresa…….you are very welcome…..7th grade…….talk about transition pieces LOL………………If 7th grade students are anything like I was when I was in 7th grade…….that was a major transition
Hello Louis, today is June 8 th and I’m making my list to die items of clothing. Now do you have anymore surprises for your Linea ladies? I asked the ladies about colors for the whisper knit and have come to conclusion that fall colors are everyone favorites but violets lavender yellows blue and everything neutral . I hope your not getting bad weather but your new sod will like the water won’t it.
You mentioned that the sizing on the faux shantung pieces was S, M, L. So no sizing options for plus?
No Nancy….I just took a short cut….everything is avail in all sizes.
Hello Louis
I am trying to decide which paisley skirt colors to buy. Does the safari shirt in the white work with the purple/red combo, and the brown work with the brown combo?
Yes, they both work………..but……..personally I prefer a clean white cotton shirt with the violet/red skirt. The safari shirt is a bit fussy in the white with the shell buttons, but it absolutely works.
Hi, Louis! I just love the red/violet combo of the June skirt and poncho. Does this red work with the red crepe blazer, A221808? I have this blazer, as well as the skirt, and am hoping that the reds work with each other. (I also have lots of white.) Thanks so much!
Dear Barbara….the reds work!…..I would still put white under the blazer with the print skirt.
Agreed!
Will the faux shantung jacket in olive go with the sunburst pleated skirt in tarragon?
Dear Goldie…..they look wonderful together!
What great news! I’ve been seeking a perfect topper for the skirt, and now I have found it. I love this new jacket — all around — for the sunburst pleated skirt in tarragon. It is just the right combination of sassiness and sweetness. I like the contrasting elements of this jacket, and I did not want a totally sweet topper for the skirt (for some reason). I wanted it to “break bad.” Your new jacket is very French with its mixed elements.
You crack me up!!!! I love “break bad”….
You never know what your Linea Ladies are up to, Louis. 🙂
Does the new shantung jacket in olive match the FJ pants or just the tops and skirt? I know they were different color olives.
Karen
No they do not match……only the tops and skirt are a good match
