    Hello Louis,
I am lookin forward to your shows. I have one request for the future, or maybe there is something out there that i dont know. Do you have any shirt jacket types in black? SOmething casual, not too much to go with all my black stuff ( like the paisley skir- i was lookin to wear with a turtleneck but needed a black casual jacket to complete the look), I know there is the quilted jacket, it didn’t quite work for me,(sadly), however if you can do something else in black i would love it. I have a long list for the upcoming shows and look forward to it
    regards

Hello Louis: Love your clothes. I have been on the OVC waitlist for several months for the “Robyn” shirt. I see you are bringing a faux suede “Robyn” shirt for your next shows, but the orignal Robyn is great. Will you be reordering more? Thank you

    1. louisdellolio

YES! The “Robyn” shirt will return for spring in the original White, Navy and the new Khaki……..regards, Louis

  3. Toni Fisher

Louis: I ordered five of your turtle neck sweaters – love the aubergine and magenta – can they be hung on a satin hangar?

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Toni,
I really don’t like to recommend hanging any sweaters because of the shoulders stretching or getting dimples from the hangers. Are the hangers padded well and do the sweaters fit the hangers or are the hangers wider than the sweaters where by they extend into the sleeve?
I store my sample sweaters in clear plastic containers I get from the “Hold Anything” store………better to be safe than sorry…….regards, Louis

      1. Toni Fisher

Bless you Louis, yes they are padded; however, I agree with you – flat so they don’t grow and they would not be as wide as the sweater and that would ruin the sweater. I love them to death and I want to order the burgundy pearls. You are soooooooooooooooooooooooo New York.

  4. Sandi

Dear Louis, I have color/re-order questions regarding 3 items, if I may jump to next year. (Sorry about that! I do live in today, but plan for the future, LOL)
#1: A213623 Sateen Blazer. I stalked down the frosted lilac in my M over the summertime, and fell in love with it which I knew I would! (unlined, 3/4 sleeve, breathable, perfect!!) Finally some Sand has come back in stock, so I was able to get 2 of them in M. Q: Has this been re-ordered in any colors at all for next year?
#2: A213327 Blazer w/Zipper Trim. I missed this, but am waitlisted for what I assume is next year’s Khaki. Has this been re-ordered in the Black?
#3: A210364 Ruffle Front Cardigan. I have this in Black and and love it. (Hope you aren’t sick of “love it”!!) Has this been re-ordered in the Pink/Black combo, or “any other” colors at all? The detail work on this exquisite sweater is incredible. Thank you in advance for answering. Once again I wish to thank you for your generous availability to us and our questions. My husband sees me writing to you from time to time, and has asked, “but does he REALLY answer??” and I’ve told him, “yes, he REALLY does!” He’s amazed. (me, too.) Many Blessings to you and Jac- Most Sincerely, Sandi

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sandi,
1-That jacket has not been reordered.
2-The jacket has been reordered in the sage and the new khaki, but not the black…..mine is not to reason why?
3-This sweater has not been reordered.
Tell your husband……yes, I really do answer your questions, and it’s my pleasure…..regards, Louis

      1. Sandi

Thanks Louis! LOL I told him. PS of course I am shakin’ my head over the decisions of others…we know they’re not yours…just please know there is so much we would buy, if available. I read the reviews and women are begging for the sweater to come back in pink and black. I do thank you for staying.

        1. Carol

I can’t believe the sateen jacket is not being reordered! That flew out the door. So is there hope for the little ruffled tank that coordinated with it? I would love some more colors of that one.

          1. louisdellolio

No hope……again, when returns reach a certain % it is disqualified as a return items, even if there are none left in inventory due to either wait list or dot com shopping…….I am as disappointed as you. I thought for sure, at least the jacket would be a reorder…..regards, Louis

  5. Deborah Riley Draper

    Hello Louis:

I am producing a documentary on the 1973 Versailles Fashion Gala. I have had the great pleasure of interviewing T. Fallon, M. Berenson, B. Hardison, P. Cleveland and many others who were there. I wanted to find out if I could interview you on 10.18.11 in New York. Thank you.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Deborah,
I am very interested in your documentary and would love to see it when it is finished. However, I was not at the event and have nothing to contribute. I didn’t start working at Anne Klein until 1974. Do you have film on the event or of the show. I have never seen any in all of these years and look forward to your release. I was always told there was no video of the event. Please let me know when this happens. I am sure you have contacted, Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karan and Steven Boroughs who were there.

      1. Deborah

        Hello Louis!

I will send you an invitation when we have our NYC screening. I have already interviewed Stephen at his showroom. I am hopeful to interview Donna and Oscar. I will keep in touch! Thank you.

  6. Celia

    Happy Saturday, Louis!

I just love my riding jackets, all the whisper knit items and quilted jackets, to name a few. Pucker tops, and anything else I left out.

Will the PP and Purple turtlenecks be coming in XXS? They are waitlisted on the website in every other size but XXS is Crossed out. I called customer service but they don’t have a clue.

    Fondly,
    Celia

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Celia,
That’s a good question……unfortunately I don’t have an answer either. If the other colors are avail in xxs the PP and the Purple should be too. On Monday I’ll call the office and find out for you…….regards, Louis

      1. Celia

That’s fascinating, Yvette! Thanks- I’ll just keep checking the website!

      2. Celia

Thanks, Louis- it would be interesting if it were already sold out, as Yvette said, LOL.

        1. louisdellolio

I just got my answer and yes the PP and Purple were ordered in XXS, but in VERY limited quantities……so if you want them and you can go on wait list…..DO IT NOW!

          1. Celia

No can do, Louis! I appreciate your looking in to this for me, but they are already sold out (“X”ed out) so I can’t even get on the waiting list. I have to stalk and hope for a cancellation!! I will waitlist the XS instead.
            Thank you, dear man!

    2. Yvette

I hope that it’s ok for me to jump in here. I’ve had the PP turtleneck in XXS on waitlist since July 21. I believe that QVC must have taken as many waitlisted orders as they have PP turtlenecks. That’s why it says “Sold Out” even though they haven’t been officially offered yet. There’s still hope, Celia, as someone may cancel her waitlisted sweater! I notice that the XXS in most of Louis’s offerings disappear quickly, never to be seen again. But this may be a first!

      1. Celia

        Yvette:

Thanks – I replied to you above. I will keep hope alive!
        Regards, Celia

  7. bighairgal

    Hi Louis,

I see that A210358 is going to be presented as a ‘re-order’. Will that include the color black? What is available now is the purple and spruce green. I’m hoping that the black will make an appearance.

    Thanx!
    -bhg

    1. louisdellolio

Unfortunately, black was not reordered. I really don’t know the reason….

  8. FreddieMac

    Dear Louis,
Please add me to the list of women who love being able to purchase your beautiful designs on QVC. I too love watching your shows for ideas on how to combine items and accessorize to best effect. I was just looking at the QVC website where there is a special section on Customer Top Favorites. Guess what?? You had more items listed on the first four pages (as far as I got) than any other designer (using that term loosely in some instances), including many who are on constantly. It made me smile…..
    Regards,
    Freddie Mac

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear FreddieMac,
I appreciate your words very much. I hope you will be able to see my next shows in Oct. They should be very exciting. I’m only afraid there is too much all at one time…………..regards, Louis

      1. G

        Dear Louis,

There can never “be too much” of your fabulous designs. I only wish QVC would put all of the coordinating pieces in one show so we don’t end up ordering and waiting on waitlist orders only to be disappointed and not be able to get them. Looking forward to Oct, Nov, and Dec as well as Spring. Thanks for your talent.

        G

        1. louisdellolio

Dear G…..Oct and Dec…..I don’t have any shows in Nov…..regards, Louis

  9. Cathy

    Dear Louis,

I think this was discussed here before, but I couldn’t locate the answer; hope you don’t mind if I ask again … I have ordered, on waitlist, the Spruce Green Suede Jacket with Side Buckles. I have only been able to see a pencil skirt in Spruce Green on one of the videos, and it looks very similar to the Forest Green in the velvet pants and tunic, but that may just be the camera and lighting. Wondered if you might describe the Spruce Green color on that suede jacket for me? Hope you are enjoying a nice weekend it’s a bit rainy and grey here in PA. Thank you so much,

    Cathy in PA

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Cathy,
The Spruce Green and the Forest Green are two different greens. The Spruce Green is a blue green and the Forest Green has yellow under tones. The suede jacket goes very well with the knit pencil skirt and the short sleeve crew neck…..
      ……………..regards, Louis

      1. Cathy

        Dear Louis,

Thanks so much for your quick reply; I’m quite certain I’ll love the Suede Jacket, and the color sounds lovely. I’m anxiously awaiting its’ release!

        Warm Regards,

        Cathy In PA

  10. farmerwife

Loved all the new things you showed us on your September show, and ordered numerous things. I ordered the bronze quilted jacket, and one of the snaps was defective. I’ve read on the forum on QVC that this happened with several other people, and just wanted you to be aware of the problem. I hated to send it back, and tried everything I knew to do, and I sew and have attached snaps more than once, but couldn’t fix it. I live in a small town where there is not a shoe repair shop, so I had to reluctantly send it back. Am anxiously waiting for the new cardi to be available, as will be ordering it as well as several of your new sneak peaks. Thanks for designing clothing for us at a resonable price, as those of us who live in small towns still like to dress nicely, and we have so few choices in the way of clothing stores.

    1. louisdellolio

I really don’t know why there has been trouble with the snaps. The are put on by machine and the snaps themselves are very gold quality. It’s a mystery to me, but I have notified my manufacturer. Sorry for the disappointment……………….regards, Louis

  11. Marigot

Louis, Will you be reordering item #A217979 Riding Jacket? I ordered both colors and both were damaged. Also will there be a reorder on #A217986 Riding Skirt? I ordered all three in M and all measure to be L. Sending back. Of course, I love your clothing and have a closet full of Linea, Ann Klein and Ann Klein Coutoure. Marigot

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Marigot,
It is too early for me to know if either item will be reordered. It usually takes three months to find out if an item is a reorder candidate. Many things have to go right for something to be reordered. I would really like to know what was wrong with your riding jackets so I can report it to my manufacturer.. It is very strange that all three of your skirts measure to be a large when they were shipped as mediums. Does the label say “M” or “L”?…….regards, Louis

      1. Marigot

Louis, Thank you for your speedy response. Riding Jackets had “grease on them”. Riding skirts are labeled medium but were soo large I measured them comparing “garment measurements” listed under “click here” and they were the same as large. I would keep and take to a tailor if I knew that knits could be altered. I’m going to inquire tomorrow. Just too full. Love everything I order; have at least 200 items from your Linea line. I LOVE BEAUTIFUL CLOTHING. I must admit these new synthetics are getting better all the time; but there is nothing like the fine fabrics we used to buy. I’m taking good care of my fabulous clothes from the past. (How neet is this to email a world famous designer and get a response !!!) Best, Marigot

        1. Barbara in Virginia

HI, Louis! The buttonholes on my red riding jacket appear to have been done with the wrong side of the button holes on the right side of the fabric! Both the front and the sleeves. Another of the Linea Ladies appears to have received a jacket with the same flaw. I will use some Fray Check to tidy them up a bit. But strange!!!! As always, Barbara

  12. Marcia

    Hi Louis-
Wanted to let you know how much I love the animal print topper.I have looked for an understated animal print like this for a long time. I started with the neutral and have just ordered the sage when I heard about your colr offerings coming in the next few months. How would your Avocado ,Deep Violet or Chartreuse look with the sage? I am wondering if the steel gray( my most favorite gray ever)would also work?
I am hoping that the fawn will work with the neutral.
    Thanks for all you do
    Marcia

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi Marcia,
The fawn definitely works with the neutral. It looks great with Fawn pants and a black top. I will check the others colors and get back to you…..regards, Louis

  13. Bobbie

Good morning, Mr. Dell’Olio. I just wanted to express what a privilege it is to have the opportunity to purchase your designs. I am over 60 and have been pursuing fashionable clothing since my teens. Although I am now retired, I’m afraid that the obsession has not changed in the least. I have one of your jackets in five colors, a blouse in six colors, pants in multiples and different colors, etc. I own most of your jewelry, as well. One of the aspects of your clothing line that I love is your consideration of your customers in keeping colors consistent throughout the seasons and years, so that we can build our classic wardrobes to be highly versatile. What a gift! I wrote QVC today to express my loyalty to your fashion line and asked that they persuade you to expand your accessories to include more jewelry and other accessories, which you base on wardrobe building principles. Hopefully, they truly value the feedback of loyal customers and will consider expanding your line to QVC customers.
On another note, thank you so much for bringing back faux shantung! I love this fabric and could not resist ordering the new jacket in both the sapphire and olive. The weight is perfect for the “deep south” climate and is such a versatile piece. Please consider this fabric for future designs. I would love to have more shirts/jackets and pants in faux shantung, in lots of beautiful colors, since this fabric seems to yield richness and depth of color. I love your whisper knit turtleneck sweaters and own eight of them now. The weight is perfect for layering under jackets and coats and soft to the skin. I just received the slim fit pants and could not stop smiling. What a perfect fit….not a gap anywhere and very slimming! You are truly a genius!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Bobbie,
Thank you for such a wonderful letter. You, and women like you, are the reason I do what I do. It gives me great pleasure to know the clothing I design gives you pleasure. In the world we live in today, it’s getting harder and harder to fin d things that do give us pleasure…
I plan to keep using the faux shantung as long as it keeps selling. I want to do pants but since there is no stretch to the fabric my manufacturer doesn’t feel she can get a proper fit. Didn’t we all wear clothes before stretch? Again, thank you so much for your lovely note…….best regards, louis

  14. Sonia

Regarding the whisper knit mock neck sweater that is being held hostage in Q-Land, what is the sleeve length? Is it short like the crew neck sweater’s sleeves or elbow length?

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sonia,
The mock neck sleeve is longer than the crew neck sweater……aprox 2 inches….t5hat’s just from looking at them one on top of the other. I didn’t actually measure, but it’s definitely longer…….regards, Louis

      1. G

        Good morning.

I love your designs. Would you please tell us what colors your new chenille jackets will come in? I am interested in adding to my collection of your line. Are your designs available anywhere other than QVC?

        1. louisdellolio

          Dear G,
The chenille colors are Deep Purple, Taupe and a Med. Gray. The taupe and the med gray are slightly heathered.

  15. Inna

    Dear Louis,
Will there be any cassis whisper knit items? Cassis T-neck (I own T-necks in every color),Cassis V-neck?
Please, please Louis can you make the brushed cotton full length pants with the same measurements as brushed cotton crop pants A216529 (they’re the best fitting pants, I just ordered two more pairs size XXS in black and olive).Thank you in advance for your reply,… best regards, Inna.

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Inna, I do not have any other whisper knit sweaters coming in cassis…..just the acrylic wool. Spring for 2012 is finished, I’m afraid I won’t be able to add those pants for next Spring but I will make a note on them.

      1. nikki

        Louis,
I love the fit of these crop pants also, and would love to see them in full lenth with the same measurements. I too own 2 sets of each. In fact, I would also love the crops with these measurements in different colors ( especially coordinating colors of olive as I have collected quite a bit of olive this year. thankyou.

        1. louisdellolio

          Dear nikki,
Since the crop pants were not a sell out, I doubt if they will be reordered. I will try to bring them back somehow!!??

          1. jmarie

I suspect the crop pant was not a sell-out because it was presented so late in the season. They are, along with the piped crops, the best fitting pants ever! I bought 2 of each color to match the jackets, but they’re ankle pants on me and so give me extended wear into fall.

I won’t even say how many pairs of the piped crops I’ve bought!

            1. louisdellolio

              Dear jmarie,
I am glad you had success with both pants. I was a little surprised the crop pant didn’t do as well as I thought. It was a customer requested style [same as the tobacco and black crop in cotton sateen] and it matched a very successful jacket. I thought everyone would want the matching pant…….I guess I was wrong LOL. Maybe, when next spring rolls around they will sell since the olive was so successful and I’m not planning to repeat olive next season.

            2. jmarie

Strangely, they’re available again in all sizes; just bought 2 more pairs! Is it possible they were re-ordered after all???

            3. louisdellolio

              Dear jmarie,
I can honestly tell you they were not reordered so, I have no idea where they came from…..returns? It’s a little late for returns to appear, but I have no other answer to this puzzling question…………..have a great day, Louis

      2. nikki

        Louis,
I also would love to see these crop pants in full length. I love the fit of these crop pants, and wear them all the time. In fact, I would also love to see more colors in the crop pant, colors that coordinate with olive as i have collected quite a bit of it this year. thankyou

        1. LauraL

I second the motion for a full leg version of the crop pant. I don’t wear crops but I would love a long pant in that fabric

  16. Victoria

    Dear Louis,
I know you may have tried before but it would be great for you to do a line of paisley scarves for fall with a group of matching berets. I noticed the Q is now doing accessory shows. The one thing that is difficult for those of us who shop the Q …is to find is quality scarves and hats…Your berets are the type of hats that allow a more fashionable woman not to look silly on a windy or foggy day, if we have to throw on a hat…It works so well with our trench or wool coats in cooler weather. They are small, do not wrinkle and are easy to drop in one’s briefcase or handbag. It really should be a no brainer for QVC.
    Thanks

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Victoria, I would love to extend the Linea brand to include more accessories, but I don’t see it happening. I have made samples in the past but they weren’t purchased.
I love berets and they have become my signature. I actually am not a hat lover in general, but berets are the exception. I love how they almost become one with the head and finish off the total look…….I have shown some paisley scarves and I agree, paisley challis scarves would be fabulous……..best regards, Louis

  17. Carol in FL

    Hi Louis,

Love the v-neck sweaters, the quilted jacket, the silk/cashmere turtleneck, and the charmeuse stand collar blouse. They are all so beautiful! Every show you do just gets better and better. I’m so happy that I found you!

Question: Will you have any blouses in the charmeuse fabric or other “silky” fabric coming in perfectly pink? I would like to have something that is cool and light weight to wear under your jackets.

    Thank you!

    Carol (in Florida)

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Carol,
      Your request is my command!
On my Dec. 9th show at 1:00pm…..spread the word! I will have a beautiful classic shirt in a new satin back faux de Chine……meaning the surface looks like my faux de Chine [a matte finish], but the side that is against the skin is satin…….you know that feels good! It will also come in Ivory and Black. These will coordinate to my new 26 inch pencil knit skirt and a matching brand new cardigan style. The new knit pieces will be in the Perfectly Pink, Black and Fawn. The fawn and the Ivory blouse is beautiful. I don’t know why but I see Kim Novack in this! She always looked great in a shirt and pencil skirt. It’s very chic and quite sexy in a grown up womanly way.
      ……….regards, Louis

      1. Carol in FL

Oh, Louis! I know what I’m getting for my birthday and Christmas–Linea, of course! Does this mean you will be on twice in December–the 9th and then again later in the month–or only once on the 9th? Thanks, again. You’re amazing!

        Carol

        1. louisdellolio

          Dear Carol,
I will only be on once in Dec. on the 9th at 1pm. I am very happy it isn’t on later in the month which was the original plan. I do believe if you order on the 9th, you will be able to get your purchases before Christmas……however, it seems it’s taking longer and longer for the goodies to arrive! Once in Dec. is enough…..I don’t want you ladies to get sick of seeing me.

          1. Carol in FL

Louis, I don’t think we would ever get tired of you. I love watching how you style the clothes and how everything works together. If you were on more often my clothes budget would be totally blown! So, I guess once in December will do. Think of it this way, by having only one show early in December you will have more time to spend with your lovely wife, Jac, and the babies. Enjoy your Christmas holidays and in the meantime I’ll be watching (and buying) on your upcoming appearances.

            Carol

  18. enjay

Louis, what am I reading?! Two sequin tops? You told us about the cowl-neck – are you gonna spill the beans about the other piece? Please do – don’t want to be tempted by any fly-by-night sequin jacket or anything 🙂 Want to hold out for the good stuff!

    1. louisdellolio

You are too funny. The second top i in a rayon/poly jersey. It is a scoop neck, raglan long sleeve top. It has a piped neckline with a little shirring. It has a waterfall of small square sequins down the front. It is very delicate and not over done so, you would feel comfortable wearing it out for dinner with friends or to more dressy occasions. They look great with jeans, dress pants, my new riding skirt as well as a more dressy bottom……like my new lurex skirt. The colors are Black with Black sequins and Black with Gunmetal sequins…………
      …………………..regards, Louis

  19. MH-MN

Have you finished your work on NEXT fall’s collection? If not, would you consider offering us a sweater dress in whisper knit? At first I was thinking of a cardigan dress/ duster a la Halston, but I would be happy with a boat-neck or v-neck sheath, (or anything you come up with, as always).

      1. MH-MN

Thank you! I know it will be wonderful.

        1. Susan (aka Carlytwila)

I would love a black dress in whisper knit! WOW!!!

      2. Anonymous

Would love a sweater dress too! V neck or a cowl … ooooh if colorblock is still hot next fall that could be cool too!

  20. Joy

    Hi Louis,

Last year on QVC you had a suede asymmetrical jacket, item # A210358, that I have been trying to purchase ever since then in black. Can you tell me if you are going to continue this jacket and when it will be available to purchase? This is an absolutely gorgeous jacket!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Joy,
The suede jacket with the buckles on the side has been reordered in the original purple and the new Spruce Green. QVC did not reorder it in Black…..I really don’t know why Black was dropped since it is sold out……”mine is not to reason why?” I think it is supposed to be on in Oct. but, I’m not sure when. When I know for sure…..I’ll let you know…….regards, Louis

      1. blinddogs

Louis, I have had that suede jacket on waitlist in spruce green from the very first day it showed up as being available on waitlist in that color. I’m still waiting and it’s been a few months. Can’t wait to get it!

        1. louisdellolio

Dear Nancy…..your wait will soon be over. The jacket is due in Oct. and it is a beauty!

  21. Inna

    Dear Louis,
Thank you for the reply and thanks for the idea to shrink the skirt (I remembered that you’ve mentioned how to shrink the waist whitting cardigan -use the steamer). Instead of using steamer, I hand washed the skirt, and placed it in the laundry bag,put it in the dryer on high temperature. It worked. The length shrunk by 2″ and the width srunk also. I’m keeping the skirt. I love this yarn, and color (will be getting V-tunic A217985 and A217983 cardigan in cassis)….best regards, Inna.

  22. Judi

    Hi Louis-
Congrats on the prime time hour in Oct…..I wonder if the PTB are listening to our letters?
I’m loving your descriptions of the upcoming items. I think I’m olived out for now…love everything I have but don’t need more (right now!)
Wow! A spruce green suit and navy jackets next Spring! I LOVE green, I’m looking forward to seeing the avocado (can it be worn with other greens?). I dare say it’s not the color of ’70 appliances!
My last question got lost in cyberspace…..is the new Byzantine necklace longer than 30″? I want to layer it with a Byzantine repro. from the NY Met.Musuem gift shop.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Judi,
The Byzantine necklace is aprox. 50 inches long from end to end.
The Avocado can be worn with greens in the yellow- yellow/brown family, such as olives, chartruse etc. It does not look god with blue greens….regards, Louis

  23. Sandi

Thanks Louis! I love the black too (stunning) but hadn’t received my other V necks yet and was curious in advance lol. No the short sleeve sweater and pencil skirt are all gone in spruce green. I’d been watching them both, there was an XS and an XL that had popped in and out, but neither were close to my size M. (I don’t do e-bay) But if there is hope for NEXT Fall you can be sure I’ll place my order! Would it be too greedy to ask for an elbow length scoop neck LOL. I’m more than happy to wear black tops and black bottoms or jeans for now. Appreciatively, Sandi

    1. Carol

I’ll second the motion for elbow length scoop necks in the whisper knit.
      crdlb

      1. Judi

I’ll third the motion! A navy, please???

    2. Anonymous

Me too! Would love an elbow, 3/4 or l/s cowl neck in the whisper knit too!!

  24. Sandi

Dear Louis, I just received my first spruce green item from you line, the new spruce green animal print jacket. The color is SO gorgeous. (had the iris already so knew I’d love the jacket.) I missed out on all of the other spruce green items. My question #1: Will there be any spruce green whisper knit items?? I sure would love a spruce green sweater that matches to go underneath. #2: What do you think of the mallard blue V-neck underneath the spruce green animal print jacket? Thanks in advance for answering my two questions. Sincerely, Sandi

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Sandi……I’m so happy you liked the color…..I thought it came out great. I do not have any Spruce Green sweaters planned but I certainly will next fall. I much prefer black under the jacket than mallard blue. Are there no Spruce Green short sleeve crew necks left?…….regards, Louis

  25. SOLDOUT

    Hi Louis:

I had such fun shopping your last two shows. I was able to get the quilted jacket and the turtleneck sweater, both in the olive color. Incidently, I am wearing them today with the cotton olive pencil skirt with the gold tone zipper in the back (another fabulous outfit!) Question: are you doing any more items in olive for the remainder of the fall or are you moving into other colors and what are they?

Thanks for all that you do for us,

    Soldout

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi SOLDOUT,
      Good to hear from you.
I am basically finished with olive except for the mock neck short sleeve sweater in the whisper knit.
For Oct. the main colors will be Taupe, Steel Gray, Purple and Black with Aubergine[suede], and Sage [faux suede]. I will also have some dressier pieces for the holidays….crushed velvet, two sequin tops and two wonderful crinkle lurex pieces. I “sneak peeked” the lurex skirt on my last show with Jill.
For Dec.I will continue with Fawn, Perfectly Pink and Ivory which will be wear now and transition into Spring. I will also have Some additional faux suede pieces in Avocado [one of my new favorite colors and a great accent to your olive], Deep Violet and Espresso. One of the pieces in the faux suede will be the Robyn shirt! There will also be a new waist whittling sweater in the Whisper Knit….it has a knit strip at the neck that you tie as bow…..very girly, but in a sophisticated way…..one of the colors will be Chartreuse to go with Avocado and Olive bottoms. I will also have two fabulous print tops one in jersey and one in charmuse.I will have a new tunic and matching pull-on long pant in a new fabric….Black, Merlot, Slate Blue and Sand. One of my new favorite pieces is a suit[jacket and skirt]in another new pucker fabric that is gorgeous. Black and Spruce Green are the colors. If you loved my pucker top….you will really love this suit…..it looks like a fortune and very European. It also has beautiful buttons that I had made for this jacket….
…………….I have given you quite a sneak peek into what is coming! Don’t forget the new Byzantine necklace Cross and colored Pearls that will be avail sometime in Nov. or early Dec…..at least that’s the plan…They look incredible on the Spruce Green pucker suit!………..regards, Louis

      1. kate

LDO–will the new suit in pucker be long sleeve or 3/4? pencil skirt? more details!!!

        1. louisdellolio

Just can’t wait for me to give my formal descriptions……greedy little song bird…..LOL……You will be happy to know it has long sleeves. It is the same body as my graphite poly/rayon/span essential jacket…….inseam pockets, V-neck…..3 button front….magnificent custom buttons. It is a new pencil skirt with a side zip and a very narrow waist band cut on the bias so it looks more like a binding than a waist band. GORGEOUS SKIRT in a GORGEOUS fabric…..the black suit is a must have absolutely perfect for southern Cal. The Spruce Green is stunning……but that’s for Blinddogs and Joni anyway…..LOL

          1. kate

So, you basically made this just for me! I know what I’m wearing New Year’s Eve! And, buying an extra skirt for sure.

          2. Anonymous

Wow -this sounds stunning! I want that jacket to wear with my jeans (in Spruce Green) and all my black stuff!

      2. diamondscribe

I am so excited to read this! Chartreuse and Avocado are two of my favorite colors. Thank you so much for planning this. I have always had to search other lines to get Chartreuse items – and couldn’t help but think how spectacular the Linea Look would be in that color. To me, those two colors are great neutrals.

  26. Inna

    Hi Mr.Dell’Olio,
I love your beautiful clothes and purchased many items from your last show. My question is regarding pencil skirt A09484 : in the description it says length measurements are XXS 22-1/2″, XS 22-3/4″ . I received the skirt in cassis color (it’s beautiful) size XXS, but the length is 26″. Is the description wrong or I’ve received the longer skirt that you’re bringing for Dec. show?? Thank you in advance for your reply…best regards, Inna.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Inna,
The A09484, skirt should be the shorter length. I don’t know how you received a 26″ skirt in that color. It is true that I am doing the skirt in a 26 inch length for Dec., but not in Cassis. If you do not want it….I know there are many Linea Ladies who would kill [of course not literally] for that skirt in that color at that length……Just post it and they will come. As far as I know you have a one of a kind skirt……and great with boots!……..regards, Louis

    2. Chris/Jazzmom

Inna, check to see if the item number on your receipt matches the tag where the care instructions are located. Its behind the instructions.

  27. Nancy

    Dear Mr Del’Olio,
I am fortunate enough to own many of your beautiful items including your notch collar jacket with turned back cuffs(A78354). I have owned this in ivory for two years and for the same two years have been trying to buy one in XS Navy. I have been wait listed twice and them the order is ultimately cancelled. I notice you refer to it often, will you be bringing this jacket back again again in Navy? Please……..

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Nancy,
I am sorry to say QVC has decided not to continue with this jacket. I was very surprised, but the decision has been made. I am afraid if you haven’t gotten one by now it is very unlikely that you will.I will have new navy jackets this Spring that you may like as much or more…..regards, Louis

  28. Sharon

    Dear Mr. Dell’Olio,
I love your beautiful clothes and purchased many from your last show. My question is regarding the turtleneck sweater and the shorter pencil skirt in the fawn color. Will you be bringing back that color in those items? Thanks so much.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sharon,
The pencil skirt at a longer length, 26 inches will be avail. this Dec. with some coordinating pieces. I have not done the turtleneck in Fawn, but since the oatmeal has been discontinued I think Fawn would be a great alternative. Now, we have to wait and see if it is reordered…….regards, Louis

  29. Susan (aka Carlytwila)

Louis – I loved how you showed us how to wear our spring pieces for fall in your last show. How would you style the poet blouse for fall if you were showing it on air?

    1. louisdellolio

That’s an easy one….and I’m sure if I threw that one back at you we would come up with the same thing……layered with a turtle or mock neck……jeans and boots or pants and boots. I’m not sure if the poet shirt can be belted but I could easily see the Khaki worn over all black or olive…..for a real casual look a colored t-neck….orange [I don’t have one] and jeans……great for pumpkin picking or just grocery shopping. For those who don’t wear t-necks my crew neck will work too………regards, Louis

  30. Dariann

    Dear Louis,

I am still waiting with anticipation for my recent Linea purchases to arrive – it seems to take forever for delivery to the Napa Valley. I have some questions regarding your new crushed velvet long skirt that I think you will be airing in October. What colors will you be offering and is it similar to the black velvet long boho that you designed and I purchased several years ago?
Warm regards to you & Jac,
    Dariann

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Dariann,
Don’t feel bad about waiting for your things…..Jac still hasn’t gotten the quilted jackets she order for her sister, herself and a girl friend who she wants to give one as a birthday present.
The crushed velvet skirt is a very similar fabric to the boho of a few years ago. It is more similar in shape to the new knit riding skirt so it isn’t tiered or as full. The colors are black and purple…..They are very versatile and are great for day and night time dressing……regards, Louis

      1. Dariann

Thanks Louis. I purchased the riding skirt in black so that will give me an idea of the fit of the new velvet skirt which I will be purchasing in both colors. I am also waiting like Jac for my quilted jacket to arrive.
        Dariann

  31. Sharon Santourian-Holman

    Hi Louis,

I just have to thank you. You have taught me the importance of accessorizing. It truly does complete my look and I look put together. So I watch the product videos closely. My most recent purchase was the magenta smocked tunic and pants. While I am more of a V Neck gal, I hesitated on this gathered neckline. But after looking in my closet, checking what I had to go with it, I decided to try it. First, that color is AMAZING on me! Second, I dressed up the neckline with a coordinating long scarf from Nordies and long necklace and received compliments from coworkers who NEVER give compliments. Thank you!!

  32. Karen B.

    Hello again Mr. Dell’Olio,

Well, I googled the ponte skirt (A210368) to find the item #, and learned the skirt is no longer available. Someone else grabbed it! 🙁 Oh well. But anyway, are your roma ponte knits and the ponte knits identical fabrics? I see that the content is the same, but are they the same weave? Thank you!

  33. Karen B.

    Mr. Dell’Olio,

I’m reposting this because I cannot find my original post.
To quickly reiterate, I have received both of my “Ninotchka” jackets (my first Linea purchase) and absolutely love them! I’d like to get the long ponte skirt as well, but no longer see it on the QVC site. Will it return, and if so, when?

    Thank you!

    1. louisdellolio

Yes, I did answer your post…..don’t know where it went? The long straight skirt is still avail but only in Espresso in an XL. I will not be bringing back these skirts or for that matter, anything in this fabric. The fabric mill has discontinued making this quality and will not make it again. I was told they had a lot of trouble. If you need the espresso and the XL isn’t too too big you can always have it altered. It’s not a huge alteration as it is a very simple skirt.I am very happy you like the jackets…..sorry I can;t do anything about the skirts……regards, Louis

      1. Karen B

I re-visited the QVC site, and cannot find the ponte long skirt – I’m desperate, lol. I suppose I should’ve asked you for that item #, but thought the skirt was gone. If you’d be so kind, would you please give me that #? Agan, thank you very much!

        1. Sharon Santourian-Holman

          Karen B,

Yes, the skirt is gone. May I suggest Ebay if someone posts up a new one. I have it in the expresso and scooped it up when I head the fabric will be no more.

  34. Beano

Dear Louis, Thinking ahead to December, I believe you said there would be a27″ length pencil skirt. I want it in pink but am wondering if it will also be available in steel gray and brown and if so, will it match the notch collar jackets(A91495)as a nice alternative to the matching pants.

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi,
Yes, the skirt is coming in Dec. It is coming in Perfectly Pink, but because it is in the acrylic/wool blend, the same as the original shorter version, it makes the color a little deeper….which I personally like. So far everything I have put it with in P.Pink looks good. The other colors are Fawn and Black. There will also be a new cardigan, totally different from the ones I have done, in the same three colors. Hopefully, if the skirt does well it will be reordered and more colors will be added. Since, the original pencil continues to do well as an essential, I am hoping this does equally as well……….regards, Louis

  35. Lois Patrick

    Hi Louis,

Just received and opened all my purchases from your last show, including the riding jacket in red and fawn. I am SO upset. The red jacket right sleeve is at least 3/4″ to 1″ shorter than the left. The fawn jacket, the left sleeve is 3/4″ to 1″ shorter than the right. Sleeve length is always an issue for me since I am six feet tall. It’s almost like they mixed up sleeves for different size jackets. But unfortunately both my jackets got caught in the mix up. I walked into the living room to show my husband the jackets and he noticed this immediately. I guess I will have to return them. Just thought you should know.
    Lois

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Lois,
That is the strangest thing I have ever heard……I will certainly let my manufacturer know about this. I can’t imagine how this could happen…..They couldn’t have mixed up sizes because they would not be able to fit the sleeve in the armhole. I hope when you return it you mark the reason so they aren’t shipped to someone on wait list…..sorry for the disappointment…..Louis

  36. enjay

Louis my bronze quilted jacket just arrived today. Jeeze louise, how do you do it at that price point!? This jacket looks like a smokin’ hot, expensive garment – I can’t believe the perfect details and those brass snaps on the side vents kill me! This is an amazing piece – it fits like a dream and I will love wearing it this fall – thanks, Louis!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Enjay,
I am so happy you are pleased with the jacket. It is one of my favorite pieces. I think this will be, for many women, the jacket they grab to run errands in, go out to dinner in…..a true all purpose, every day jacket. I’m glad you are happy with the fit. My idea was to make a more shaped jacket than your typical “barn jacket”. A little bit……sexier………regards, Louis

  37. Carmille

Ohhh, that would be so great if you can try again! Let us hope QVC will see the light and order! I think this would look so lovely in perfectly pink also and of course white or ivory is a classic look – go with everything type of color. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope! Thanks for trying! You are the best!

  38. Karen B. (shooluvva)

    Mr. Dell’Olio,

I posted a question yesterday (9/16), but no longer see it. Have yesterday’s postings been moved to another area where I can view the replies? Thanks much.

    1. Deb a/k/a jazz

Karen, I’ll jump in here ’cause I found Louis’ answer to you. On the right hand side under “Meta”, click on “comments RSS”, scroll down until you find your question. Towards the top, next to your name, you’ll see an arrow, click on that and you’ll see his response. Hope that helps.

      1. Karen B.

Thanks Deb, but I still don’t see it. I’ll just post again.

    2. louisdellolio

Hi Karen….I don’t know what happened to it….ask again

  39. louisdellolio

    Dear carmille,
I love that top too and have used it many times under different things. I have tried to do it again but it always gets passed by. I will try again…but I can’t make any promises…….regards, Louis

  40. Carmille

Hi Louis, you have a sweater that comes in iris and cloud blue (A210359). When this sweater has been shown, the model showing the iris sweater has worn a top under it in white or ivory that looks like it has pintuck pleating in a vertical design down the front. I fell in love with that top and you indicated you sold it some seasons ago. Is there any way you could bring that back in the spring, summer in white and perfectly pink? It is so stunning. Also, could it be sleeveless? It is such a versatile design, can be worn with so many pieces and looks very classy at the same time. I absolutely love it!

  41. Karen B.

    Mr. Dell’Olio,

I received my two “Ninotchka” jackets today, and I am pleased as punch! The attention to detail – the fabric – everything is perfect! As I mentioned in an earlier note, these were my first Linea purchases. But now, after seeing them firsthand, I will definitely return for more. How wonderful to find a designer who understands timeless clothing.

I have looked on the Q for your long ponte skirt (don’t know the item #), but don’t see it – will that return? I’d LOVE to own at least a couple of them.

Thank you so much for doing what you do!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Karen,
The “Ninotchka” jacket was one of my favorites, but it took a while to catch on. I’m so glad you like it as much as I do.
The item # for the long ponte skirt is A210368. There is only Espresso in XL left. It is a great skirt. There will be no reorder on this skirt as we can not get this fabric anymore….it has been discontinued by the fabric company. If the XL is close to your size you may want to think about getting it and having it altered. That would work if you are smaller as it can’t be let out. The skirt is very simple and can be altered easily…..just a thought….regards, Louis

  42. Wild Rose

Hi Louis, I’m pretty sure you told us that you will be bringing a longer length (just below the knee) in your knit skirt. If I am correct on that, which show will we see that on, and in what colors? Thanks so much!

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi Wild Rose,
It will be on my late Dec. show and will be in the Perfectly Pink, Fawn and Black…………..regards, Louis

  43. Gigot

Hi Louis, hope the girls and Jac are doing well.Still deciding if and when to get my new Scottie girl(will try a Scottie rescue first-my boy passed this past year but still mourning.I am writing to say this past show and the show in the Spring with the “olives” and animal prints have been my favorites this year;looking forward to the crushed velvet skirt. Hope you get more riding jackets back as I could not get one. I have seen so many designers and non-designers doing the classic Chanel style jacket but yours are ridicuously well-priced and made so well. IMO,I really know that if you make a signature line of these style jackets with everything from velvets to tweeds to even denim with a variety of your trims with some seasonal, shown by La Lisa with models wearing dress and denim slacks and at evening slots, the buyers will come in droves. Too many wrongly believe that your clothing is too formal or for older women-wrong. I still have that mallard green suede jacket with the violet trim and the 20+ crowd always try to get me to give it up. I wear it with jeans and a black turtleneck-classic. Just as every designer has her/his sig pieces, I know these jackets would be your jewels among the rest of your line-my friends and I would buy them and I know many others would also. Your jackets are winners in price, design, and crafting. Please really consider making these jackets in a varity with that “edge” we want.Thank you!!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Gigot,
You have given me a lot to think about…..thanks for all the wonderful ideas. I’m afraid everything we had in the riding jacket is gone. It sold out, as you know…….From one Scottie lover to another….we wish you well in finding jut the right one to come home to you!…….regards,Louis

  44. Parisa (wishd4it)

    Hi Louis.

Thanks again for the wonderful items! Do you think the Red Riding Jacket would look good with your retired Black/Ivory Houndstooth skirt or would that be too much? I was thinking of the Black T-neck, black tights & boots.

    TIA
    Parisa

  45. Sandi

Dear Louis, I received my olive quilted jacket last night and just wanted to congratulate you personally on an outstanding design. You are indeed a master of art and function. Of course it is much, much too early to know if the Q will re-order but I just wanted to put my plug in early. This is truly an outstanding piece that we should be able to go online 5 years from now and select yet another color. (my vote for next Spring is cassis) The Q stocks many jackets that have been there year after year. I hope and pray this will be the case. I take a M and am on waitlist for black, and of course must stalk the bronze. (sigh) I stayed up late last nite and wrote a review (takes a few days for them to publish) suggested several go-with pieces but forgot to mention the new olive V-neck which is PERFECT. (thank you!!) I live on the Pacific waters in Wa. state so am amazed that my jacket arrived so early, but I will be enjoying it this morning as I beach comb. It’s 56 degrees out this morning and the jacket is the perfect weight to take the chill off. Can’t wait to dress it up, too. With much gratitide and very sincerely, Sandi

  46. Lenora Metts

Dear Mr. Dell’Olio: i watch all your qvc shows and i enjoy them so much because you are a gentleman, a designer of the old school when attention to detail and quality mattered, and i especially love that you style all the models. it makes your show THE most enjoyable of all the fashion shows to watch because it is well-thought out and the models are not piled with every item such as belts that don’t coordinate and other extraneous items. i remember you from Anne Klein and the black wedge espadrilles i had with the lion’s face embroidered on the toe–i wore them out and was sad when they had to be retired. i have also heard you talk of your scotties and love hearing about them. i am on my 5th and 6th scotties (madge and gordon) having lost my last two this year prematurely, to lymphoma. i so look forward to seeing your next show and wish you were on more often.

  47. jackie

Louis- will the paisley print boho skirt a216531 be coming back i missed out on it and would love to see it back in stock. Also how about a white boho skirt? thanks for the reply

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Jackie,
It’s way to early to know…..have you checked recently to see if your size is avail. They pop up every so often…….regards, Louis

  48. Beano

Dear Louis, Would it be possible for you to make a pair of pants in butter yellow one day as Lafayette is wearing in the portrait of him in The Greater Journey? My daughter, an artist, tells me it’s not a good painting but I’m entranced with the Lafayette figure and his costume.

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Beano……You really love that look! I actually think the color is stronger than a butter yellow….more of a chamois……don’t you think?

      1. Beano

Whatever color you think it is, I would love to have a pair of Linea pants in it. Hope you agree.

  49. Judi

    Hi Louis-
Congratulations on 2 wonderful shows! I felt like I was in a Master class, you describe and demonstrate the garments beautifully.
Of course, I bought many items, I’m eagerly awaiting them.
I have a question about the pale taupe chenille blazer. Is the coloring a warm or cool taupe? More on the gray, brown or rose hue?
I love your neutrals, and I was wondering if this would go better with purples, magenta, cassis or olives, browns, sienna and cream colors.
    Thanks!
    Judi

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Judi,
That is a tough one to answer. I can tell you it does not look good with the Fawn which is too camel and too warm. It does look great with browns, charcoal, navy, olive, the right taupe and of course black…..as bottom colors. I also think it looks good with many accent colors both warm and cool……purple, deep pinks, corals, aubergine, wines, magenta, teals, turquoise….olives, browns…butter yellow….all look good…..It really is pretty neutral. The only time you get into trouble is a color similar but not the right shade…..like the fawn, as I said is too yellow….more of a pale taupe would be better as a bottom for a monotone look………I hope I have answered your question…….regards, Louis

      1. Judi

Thanks so much for your description and suggestions on colors to wear with it. I’m looking forward to purchasing it next month.
On Monday I was able to see the beautiful Byzantine necklace. Is it between 32-34″? I have a fabulous reproduction Byzantine necklace from the NY Met. Musuem gift shop that I’m hoping to coordinate with it.
        Thanks again-
        Judi

  50. nikki

    Louis,
I loved your shows and waiting for all my new things. I was planning on buying the v neck tunics. I wanted your opinion, besides black, would the cassis or mallard blue be better with the olive pants? I have not seen either color and only want to buy one more tunic besides black. Thankyou for your expert opion.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Nikki,
To be perfectly honest both colors look equally well with the olive pant. Maybe you should evaluate what you already own and see what color or color family you have the least in…..and go for that color. What coloring are you? I will suggest one thing. You should get the short sleeve crew neck in the olive to wear under the tunic with the olive pant….it looks great that way…with either color and of course the black. I would also suggest getting the same crew neck in black [if you don’t have one to wear under the color tunic with a black bottom……it really looks great…….my last suggestion….If you are a big jeans wearer….get the cassis…….regards, Louis

      1. nikki

Thanks for your suggestions, I am olive toned with dark hair and brown eyes (Indian) , I have not tried your cassis or mallard blue with my skin color. I wear jeans so i will try the cassis. This is wonderful to get suggestions from you. Love it.
        Regards to you and Jac.

    2. louisdellolio

Nikki…….knowing your coloring helps a lot. Both colors will work beautifully on you…..the cassis will be wonderful

  51. Karen B.

I just ordered A210366, the double breasted ponte jacket – in both colors! I’d been looking at it for some time, and finally gave in. This is my very first Linea purchase, and am very much looking forward to receiving them.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Karen,
It is great to hear from you and welcome. I hope you like the jackets when you receive them. They look good all buttoned up, a few of the top buttons open with the lapels folded back, belted with the self belt or one of your own. It also looks good without a belt. You’ll have to try it different ways and see how it suits you best……again…..welcome…..regards, Louis

  52. LauraL

    Dear Louis,

I very much enjoyed both of your shows. Didn’t get much sleep but well worth it. I ended up as usual buying quite a few pieces (16). Can’t wait to receive them and start mixing and matching with what I already own. Your clothes are well designed and manufactured. I very much appreciate the time you take putting together a show with the many styling ideas, ways to accessorize, and the ways the new and old items work together. I was also enticed with the new items that are going to be offered going forward – the chenille jackets, the lurex skirt, the pearls, the byzantine group and I am sure everything else.

Once again – thank you very much.

  53. Sandi

    Thank you Louis! Best, Sandi

Louis, Thank you for your quick response! If there was a mistake it was mine but thanks for being gracious as always. I had ordered and already received the Cassis Pencil Skirt in anticipation of the Cardigan. The Cassis is an absolutely gorgeous color, thank you for that! The total outfit will be stunning. I’m too short for the Cassis tunic so especially appreciate the Cassis being available in the Cardigan as well. Q: Is it correct that the cardigan and the pencil skirt are of the same fabric content? Q: Would it be possible for you to find out if the Cardigans are in the the QVC warehouse? I would like the total outfit for an upcoming event and like to plan ahead. With Much Gratitude, Sandi

Dear Sandi. all of the Sept items and essentials have been delivered. I however, can not tell you when they will be avail. for sale…..sorry….Louis

  55. Rhoda

It was wonderful seeing you in particularly high spirits yesterday. Of course I bought, and bought, and bought. The purple chenile blazer you are bringing in grey and pale taupe, as well- Does the new purple whisper turtleneck (I have on waitlist) match, coordinate, etc. with that purple chenile blazer? Also, does the new faux suede skirt (in purple) also match or coordinate? Finally does the cassis pucker top coordinate with that purple chenil blazer? You can tell I am trying to coordinate several pieces in the purple family. (I bought almost everything you made in the olive and sage. Great with my hazel eyes and dark hair) Finally, finally can you give me an idea what the purple in those items I mentioned really looks like? I hope that shearling comes to pass.

    1. louisdellolio

      RHODARHODARHODA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your not going to ask me to describe a color…are you? I get into so much trouble doing this. Do you know blue eyed people see color a little differently…..I’m not sure about Hazel! LOL I will say this….all of the purples you have asked about are all in the purple Boho family. The purple boho being the lightest…..the chenille being the darkest. The new turtleneck was colored to work with the chenille jacket as well as many things coming. The T-neck is lighter in color than the chenille jacket but still deep and saturated and the faux suede skirts also works. Yes , you can definitely wear, if you have it the purple jacket, with the purple turtleneck and purple BOHO. Throw on a wonderful scarf or shawl in purples. magenta Designer. I also love the red T-neck under the purple chenille. It was all designed to go together as the olive and sage were. The Cassis pucker top, of course, does not match, but I LOVE them together. I think magentas and purples look very Designer, and very European….it’s a great accent to the purple…..with the right accessories the Dk mallard blue would even look great. I also love teals and purples……it all works…….best regards, Louis

LOUISLOUISLOUIS, Thank you for your very patient response. I get the idea. Thank you again Ole Blue Eyes! Always, Rhoda

        1. Barbara in Virginia

Louis! This is music to my ears! I already have the red Tnecks in both the Whisper Knit and the Silk/Cashmere. Also the purple boho, which I wear with my purple suede jacket. But I am also on a Cassis-a-thon and am delighted to hear that it will work with the new dark purple jacket! I put the Cassis pucker knit blouse under my purple suede and really, really liked them together, both color wise and in terms of texture. I added a burnout silk velvet scarf and was over the moon! Like Rhoda, I also have the purple Tneck on wait list. And am delighted to hear that the color will work with other things to come. Now did you let it slip to Rhoda that the faux suede skirt will also be in purple? 🙂 As always, Brown Eyed Barbara

Dear Louis, Excellent shows as always, and your styling and sneak peeks are much appreciated. I saw in an earlier response on this page that the cardigan, mock neck, and v-neck tunic will be available later but the timing seems to be up to the Q? I could have sworn that you had indicated on a previous answer to me that the cardigan would be availavble yesterday–do you happen to know why the Q did not make it available? Frankly, September is cardigan weather in my area. (actually year-around due to air conditioning) If you check the forums you will see that many of us are so disheartened by the lack of inventory which I realize is not in your control. To summarize, my question is: was the cardigan intended to be in yesterday’s show and then something went awry? TIA.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sandi,
The jewel neck cardigan with the ribbed waist that Kate wore with the matching knit pencil skirt was never supposed to be on the shows. If I said it was I made a mistake. The only item that was supposed to be on the 4pm show and wasn’t…..was the lurex skirt. I don’t have any idea why they aren’t avail yet. They are fine…..there isn’t anything wrong with them!….regards, Louis

  57. Tana

Dear Louis, I adore your line and I try to watch whenever you’re on. However, it is not always possible, and your clothes always sell out. I think part of this is due to your extraordinary method of communicating with your clients via this website. I just discovered it a couple of months ago, but I don’t always think to check. I have two requests: 1) would it be possible to send emails out to your clients who wish to receive them? That way I would get an alert to your shows and upcoming GORGEOUS clothes, 2) would you please bring in MORE of your new items, and items that sold out in a heartbeat in the past? I can’t ever seem to get what I want, and waitlists either come very slowly or not at all. Perhaps you just like to play “hard to get”? Very crafty, but I’d like to at least have a chance every now and then. By the way, I love your jewelry, and I’m looking forward to the cross ensemble. Can’t wait!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Tana,
I very much appreciate the fact that you like the clothes I design. As far as the quantities. I have nothing to do with how much of anything is purchased. That is TOTALLY up to QVC. I would love it if they ordered thousands of pieces so that anyone who wished to buy it could get what they wanted…..why wouldn’t I? Not being crafty…..I hate to disappoint my customers and frustrate them….I really only want to make them happy. There are thousands of Linea customers and I am only one person…..it would be impossible to send out e-mails as reminders. I always post on my website and at QVC, plus the dates and times are always posted on my Linea QVC site.
I’m am very happy you like the Byzantine cross and necklace…..they are truly beautiful……regards, Louis

    2. LauraL

      Tana-

You can set it up on the QVC website to notify you via e-mail about the upcoming Linea shows and how early you want to be notified of them. I set it up to notify me 2 days in advance and then if I was not already up to speed – I make sure to check out this website for the details.

    3. diamondscribe

Tana, Louis’ blog has an RSS feed which means you can set up to have any new posts on his announcement page or on the ASK LOUIS page fed directly to your RSS “reader”. This feed runs automatically, continually, as anything new is posted. I have it sent to my Google Reader, which I have set as my home page so that whenever I open my browser, I see the updates for this site as well as my other favorites all on one screen. If you need help on this, inquire at the Linea forum. We’d be glad to help. And, thank you, Louis for providing the content feed.

      1. louisdellolio

        Dear diamondscribe,
You are welcome, but I had no idea or what that setup is!!!!LOL The computer guy who set up my web site must have put that feature in. Thanks for letting me and Tana know it exists………..Louis

Great tip I never noticed it in the corner. I just set mine up too.

  58. Beano

Dear Louis, These were great shows. Thank you for your presentation. It was fun to see everything sell out but frustrating too. I had decided to get the Red riding jacket as well as the Fawn but alas, not quick enough. Same with the steel pencil skirt, although I’m waitlisted for that one.
Question: I intend to wear the “bronze” quilted jacket with my fawn pants and my black pants but will you be bringing us pants in “bronze” to match the jacket? And the pale taupe in the must have chenille jacket? Where does that figure in the color range of pants?
Those two jackets are extraordinary and the chenille looks like a home run as well.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Beano,
The fawn pant will look great with the Bronze quilted jacket..Do you have the fawn crew neck to wear under it? If not Black will look great too.
The taupe chenille however, doesn’t look great with the fawn IMHO. The fawn is yellower than the taupe. The taupe chenille looks great with the olive pant and crew or tuttleneck and eventually the mock. It also looks super chic with the new olive charmuse band neck shirt and the olive cardigan and pant. Other colors that look great as a bottom are: Dk. Brown. Charcoal gray, Navy, of course black….really there is so much that looks great with this gray color.
You are going to flip for this jacket….I put it right up there with the best of Linea……….best regards, Louis

      1. Beano

Thank you. Yes, I have the fawn crew neck and all the olive pieces. I am so looking forward to receiving the two jackets I ordered, the charmuese band neck shirt and the chenille jacket I will order.

  59. Carmille

Hello Louis! I was able to get my riding jacket, pants, and of course I just recieved my pink ribbons and pearls jacket and immediately ordered the black with ivory ribbons and pearls also.. I so enjoyed your shows. I too noticed that long gold chain necklace with the crosses on it that Susana (Suzee) mentioned. I want that necklace!!! How can we get QVC to change their mind and order it??? It is so beautiful! I am so looking forward to ordering the chenille jacket in all colors. I missed out on the riding skirt and now that I saw it in the grey with the grey chenille jacket with the grey pearls and the perfectly pink turtleneck sweater, I am so hoping one will come back into the system… Also, could you offer that skirt in the aubergine in the future? Chantalle looked devine in the aubergine turtleneck with that belt I want (Hint Hint) and the aubergine turtleneck – then all I would need would be the gold chain crosses necklace and I would be set! One can only hope!! Thanks again for your beautiful designs, I am so impressed!

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Camille, If and when the skirt gets reordered I certainly will give Aubergine a strong consideration as, I as well, loved Chantal in the head to toe Aubergine.
If you want more Linea Jewelry…..You have to let the PTB at QVC know how you feel…………regards, Louis

  60. Debbie M

    Louis,
Great show!!! It is so hard to resist, so I just bought everything. In addition another faux shantung jacket. I wore the blue one yesterday and received so many complements, from men no less, I had to order the olive. You should be very proud..all those sell outs. I have a feeling October will be just as wonderful, with those to die for chenille jackets, ooh la la.

  61. kate

LDO–you outdid yourself yesterday and I ordered v-necks, pencil skirts and jackets in just about every colorway. It was a present wrapped in a bow to finally see how you would style the Essentials pieces we all bought last year sight unseen. I picked up extra ponte skirts and the other color of the Garbo jacket. And, thank for suggesting the silk/cashmere turtleneck as a gift–I would not have thought of that and went ahead and bought four of them for girlfriend gifts. Perfect. If you have a minute I think we would all appreciate an update on the new waist-whittling cardigan. Look like October is going to rock the house. Thanks!

    1. louisdellolio

      My Dear Kate,
I am sooooo happy you liked the shows! This is the scoop on the waist whittling new cardigan. First the colors: Cassis [which I showed on Angela, UNDER the black Whisper Knit V-neck, long Cassis skirt and black quilted jacket…. so it looked like a Henley], Steel Gray [shown on Kate with the matching knit pencil], Mallard and black. The yarn of this sweater is the acrylic /wool. I have done many sweaters in the past in this quality. Women who are SUPER sensitive to wool may find it itchy……Jac who can’t wear wool sweaters is fine with this and it doesn’t bother her at all…..just saying. The proportions of the sweater are VERY similar to the waist whittling Whisper Knit jewel neck. The difference in the two sweaters is due to the yarn. The ribs in the whisper knit are very tight….the ribs in the acrylic/wool are more relaxed. The effect is the same, but this does not hug the body as much as the rayon/nylon. If one wants the ribs to be tighter….lay it on an ironing board….gently manipulate the ribs so they are closer together and STEAM!!!!Let it dry in that position and that should help. I, personally like the sweater as it is and I think it has a certain elan, but I know there will be some who will say “it doesn’t fit the same”. Size wise….get the same size you did in he other waist whittling sweater, but know, the ribs at the waist will give that WAIST WHITTLING effect…..just slightly looser. I don’t know when QVC is going to release the mock neck, this sweater and the new V-neck tunic, which may I add, is right up your alley….in spades! Great for a drive up the coast in a convertible…..AHHHHHH

      1. kate

I must have the mock, cardi and tunic in all colors (that cassis is a killer) and will be stalking the Q! I will post something on the forum that the cardi is coming as it was a hot topic yesterday. Thanks for the tip on manipulating the ribbing, but I think I will leave the cardigan just as you designed it. Oh, I have a few Burberry quilted jackets and even without having yours in-hand I can already see it has more detail and finer stitching on the quilting. WOW!

    2. louisdellolio

You are going to love it…..Jac bought 5 of them….two for her and 3 as gifts….as she was doing the show! Yes she has to buy too. All the samples I get have a huge SAMPLE in WHITE stamped on them!!!!So they can’t be resold. The factory does this so no duty has to be paid for samples brought into the country…..they used to cut them….too funny. Once Jac mixed up one of her her pieces with a sample and walked around the whole day with a white SAMPLE on her AS-……her girl friends didn’t tell her…..”MEAN GIRLS”.

  62. Susana (Suzzeee)

Great shows Louis! I managed to snag the coveted Quilted Jacket!! I’m a huge fan of your accessories and saw two pieces that I’d love to have!! First was a gold necklace (long) with dangling gold crosses on it – Kate wore it with the Byzantine Cross with the Black Cashmere T-neck on the afternoon show – any chance that will come as part of the Byzantine collection down the road? I also loved the earrings she had on – gold with onyx. The other piece I adored — Jac wore with the regular black t-neck — those massive silver beads with the bracelet too — any chance of getting those?

I vote for a faux shearling too! A genuine suede with faux shearling lining would be fabulous but I’d go for faux all the way too as I know you’d bring a high quality one!! Navy would be a good color – also a classic cognac color or maybe even a steel grey!! I’d be up for either a shorter style or a longer length too (not full length though).

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Suzana,
You have a good eye. The crosses on Kate with the Byzantine cross that I will be selling, was part of my Anne Klein Vintage Byzantine group! I have been saving that piece for just the right look. I did propose that piece to QVC as part of the Byzantine group but they passed. Who knows if the Byzantine group and the color pears I will be selling later in the year sell out….they may continue the line…..no guarantees. The silver ball jewelry was also part of the group present when we did the gold ball necklace on the black strings that just sold out. I would love to bring a huge range so my Linea Ladies can be dressed from head to toe, but I don’t know if that is in the cards. I have asked my manufacturer to look into faux shearlings for me……regards, Louis

  63. Carol

Loved your shows. My credit card will testify to that. Glad you had a chance to give the ponte knits and some of the essentials the air time they deserve–at least they now have good videos even if they were aired at an UNGODLY hour.

What color was the chenille jacket that you let us peek at today? I so have to have that. Because of the the sheen, the color was hard to read. The lurex skirt had a heavy moire on my TV, too. I’ll have to look at the video to see it shows up better on my computer.

The Linea Ladies all had great fun at your slumber party. Thanks again.

    crdlb

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Carol,
The chenille jacket over the pink turtle neck and steel gray long skirt was also a med. gray. Of course chenille, like velvet has highlights and low lights to the fabric due to the low pile. It’s a beauty. When the jacket sample first arrived, my manufacturer hadn’t seen it. When I showed it to her she thought I was bringing her an Armani jacket! It is gorgeous and all the colors are equally gorgeous, Deep Purple and Pale Taupe.
I noticed when Jac held the lurex skirt open, it had a moire effect too. It’s an optical illusion since the lurex it woven into the fabric straight up and down. I think it is the tiny crustal pleating opening up. When the skirt is hanging straight it doesn’t seem to have that effect. It is a wonderful skirt and reminds me of vintage YSL.
I’m glad everyone enjoyed the shows. Gabrielle, Jill and I all had a lot of fun doing it. It was a joy to work with them!

  64. Anonymous

Great shows today! Can’t wait to receive my pieces and take ’em to Europe 🙂 The sneaker of the lurex skirt was quite tempting…
Will you be showing a vest this season?

    Thanks!
    Birdie

    1. louisdellolio

Hi Birdie……no vests this season but in Dec. I will have a cardigan that has a vest front and under a jacket, it will look exactly like a vest. Enjoy your trip….What countries or country will you be visiting?…. regards, Louis

      1. Birdie

I will look out for that “vest”-cardigan then. I’ll be going to Germany, UK, and France for both work and play.
Louis, of course I ordered your quilted jacket; any chance you’ll be doing a knee-length trench coat version in the quilted nylon next fall/winter? Would be stunning. A certain British brand does that but I have to say Linea details would make me prefer yours over theirs.

        Enjoy your weekend!
        Birdie

    Good Evening Louis

A funny story for you. I have been inventorying my jewelry collection since you announced that your line is being discontinued. I don’t want to miss out on anything. So I bought one of those wall mounted organizers and have been busy filling it. Well I just love all your gold pieces but the earrings just weren’t right for me so I have been looking for something to wear with the curb link and the gold ball necklaces. Well I found a another small jewelry box in the back of the closet from the early 90’s late 80’s. Inside I found a pair J hoop textured bold earrings. So I cleaned them up and saw the color and style was a perfect complement to my Linea collection. After closer inspection I noticed that they are stamped “AK”. Its really a small world. So now I have some vintage Anne Klein too. I just had to chuckle to myself. I have loved your style for longer than I ever knew. To think I found you again by chanel surfing late night and loved what I saw immediately.

    Keep up the great work.

    Stephanie

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Stephanie, They were absolutely my earrings. I did the Anne Klein jewelry line from 1986 until 1993 when the “Couture” line closed. The designer who came to Anne Klein after me had no interest in designing jewelry and the line became directionless and unimportant. It was such a shame because we were creating incredible things that are now collectors pieces. We had two lines that I designed…..”Anne Klein Couture” and “Anne Klein”. The Anne Klein line was an extension of the Couture. I would select certain the more showy pieces for the runway and then select pieces we designed to be on the Anne Klein line that were more “commercial”, but still made out of the same materials and coordinated with the runway. For instance The earrings on the runway were always more exaggerated or no one would see them. On the Anne Klein line there were also smaller styles for those that couldn’t wear a bigger earring. I used many of these pieces on the runway too and I see many of them on E-Bay. There was also “Anne Klein 11” and “A-Line Anne Klein”, but I did not design them….I directed what they should look like and oversaw what they were doing. The “A Line Anne Klein” line was supper sporty and had a lot of active wear. It was fabulous and way before it’s time. Everything was stretch and high proformance…..I got a real eduction. The jewelry was very high thec. We introduced rubber and steel…it was quite wonderful and different. I always preferred the “Couture” but I appreciated the new developments and incorporated some of the materials in a glammed up version…….Enjoy your treasures………regards, Louis
