    Hello Louis,
This is the only place I could find to contact you. I am writing on behalf of Fairchild Books, a division of Bloomsbury

Who’s Who in Fashion, sixth edition, captures the energy, drama, and glamour of the luminaries who make up the world of fashion. A must-have for fashion enthusiasts everywhere, this resource features profiles of fashion legends as well as newcomers and nonconformists past and present, who’ve earned their place in fashion history through their innovative contributions to the industry. We would love to feature you in the text. Do you have hi res photos of yourself, as well as, your latest designs that we would be able to permission for the text?

    Thanks,
    A

Louis, I have the slim pants in navy and brown and I love them, but I wish they did not have pockets. It adds pounds to my problem area and the ridge of the pocket top shows through when I wear a long sweater. Can you tell me if the new ones coming will be pocket free??????

Also, I am so glad that you and Jac are ok and I enjoy Jac on Facebook…..Happy Holidays

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I’m not sure what pants you are referring to. The pants for Jan. do not have pockets

      1. DeLois

I am so pleased that the new pants in January are pocket-less…… Thanks. I know some like pockets, but it is really more flattering to most without……

  3. Diann

Am sending thankfulness to you and Jac that you survived your awful car accident.
May each day get easier for you both and just know you both are loved and we your Linea fans are here pulling for a speedy recovery in every way.

  4. charrie

    Dear Louis and Jac
God was truly watching over you. So sorry to hear of this disaster and so happy to hear you are all right. We love you … be well
    Charrie

  5. Beano

Happy ending. I ws startled to see that you are planning a trip to the west coast. Those of us who live here would be thrilled if a meeting could be arranged with you and Jaq.

  6. Cindy F.

Louis, just started purchasing your clothing line a couple of months ago and now I can’t get enough. When will you have new things on QVC and/or a show?

So happy that you and Jac were not seriously hurt by that unthinking drunk driver!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cindy….thank you for your good wishes. As many have said….we both had Angels on our shoulders and we both know exactly who they are!……….Welcome to the World of Linea. For the month of November I will have two new jewelry pieces. A long necklace that can be doubled and tripled made of either Black Jet, Hematite, or Clear Crystal GLASS faceted beads and a very simple companion earring……for Holiday parties and gift giving….. At the end of Dec on the 27th I will be on the morning show with Pat and Jane with two new items…..a wonderful cowl tunic sweater in a mixture of new yarns, and a Linea Ponte Legging which is really fabulous and has a great fit…..Jac has been wearing them and loves them……That same evening on the 27th I will be on PM Style with two more new pieces in the Linea Ponte…..a Tulip shape Maxi Skirt and a very special long Jacket, zip front and with a hood….it is very unusual and I’m sure you own nothing like it……..Then the shows start on Jan. 15 with a 2am…..5pm…..and 11pm show……it’s a terrific line up. I think 2014 is going to be one of my best.

      1. Sherry

Love the ponte pieces that are coming for Dec. Whoo Hoo…3 one hour shows on Jan 15!!! Will there be a TSV in 2014?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

No TSV planned…I guess I’ll have to wait another 5 or 6 years to get another.

          1. Sherry

Shucks on the TSV, but I thought it pretty special that we get to have you for 3 hours all on one day!!!

          2. Cathy in PA

Shall we start new forum thread demanding a new TSV? (in addition to my ever present “Live Show” request thread LOL?) Meanwhile, I’ll be returning from my New Year’s vacation just in time for those January 15 shows! I am ever grateful you offer us choices … a slim leg trouser with no pockets is great for a “dressed” look with no bulk, but my favorite is still a slim leg trouser WITH pockets for those active days and nights, especially when carrying a purse is a burden … room for the cell phone, ID, lip gloss and off I go. THANK YOU for the options.

            1. Sherry

Same here, need a pocket somewhere, top or bottom, for the cell phone. I’m a pocket girl!!!

            2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cathy…..I leave all the campaigning up to you Linea Ladies…………pockets….no pockets…..what’s a guy to do????

            3. Deborah/upallnight1

I agree, Cathy, I also love pockets. I love the slim, brown leg pants so much that I bought two pairs, along with the matching vest. I have never found that a well-placed pocket adds any visual weight to me. Remember, others are not looking at you as hard as you look at and criticize yourself. If you are going to get down on yourself about the way you appear wearing a pair of pants with a pocket, either cut out the pocket and sew up the top, or better yet, go a little easier on yourself. Life’s far too short to sweat the small stuff.

      2. Pamela

Hi Louis! What are the colors of the ‘new’ Ponte Legging, please?

Do hope you will design MORE of the SLIM LEG pants (10″ opening) in your future collections. Love them…… TIA

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I will be doing more slim leg but 10 inches isn’t slim unless you mean 5 on the half. The caviar pant was approx 6 1/2 on the half…a legging is 4- 4 1/2 on the half, so 5 is very slim. The colors are black, walnut, heather charcoal grey and wine…..repeating some of the colors from the OLO group.

          1. Anonymous

Yes – A236146, don’t change anything – design is perfection!

Hope the original colors get reordered & some new colors offered.

p.s. Louis if you watch the video for A236146, the item is presented as A236192 – QVC needs to correct their misinformation.

            Have a great day!

            1. Pamela

              That’s my post above…….sorry

      3. Cindy F.

I’m so excited!! I have all of the dates set in my I-phone with alarms set to go off!

      4. Goldie76

I cannot even fathom a better fashion year than the one we have just enjoyed with you, Louis. Guess we better hold on to our hats for a super-duper fashion ride.

      5. Sharon Santourian Holman

OMG!! Tulip skirt and long hoodie?? That sounds amazing.:)

  7. PATRICIA WARD

    Louis,
Just a little note to wish you and Jac well. I am so glad to know you both are safe.

Hugs and Blessings to you both.

  8. Quendiva

    Louis and Jac,
What a horrifying and senseless ordeal for you! Praise God that your car was strong enough to take the blow and minimize your injuries. Impossible to even consider what might have been. I hope the young driver will make better choices with her second chance at life. It seems so often the drunk driver walks away with nary a scratch.
Prayers for a speedy recovery. both physically and emotionally.
What more for you? Last year at this time it was Sandy. Next year you had better plan to be in West Chester selling us more beautiful clothes and stay out of harm’s way!

  9. Beano

There must have been an angel on your shoulder. Not to minimize the trauma, but it could have been a tragedy. Hope they take her license away for good.

  10. Debbie

Louis, thoughts and prayers for you and Jac for a speedy recovery. It truly could have been so much worse.

  11. Patti ("Writer with Flair")

    Dear Louis and Jac,

I am so sorry that you both had to go through this terrible wreck. Thank God that you were able to avoid a head-on collision, Louis, with your quick thinking and reflexes. Rest assured that my husband and I will be keeping you both in our prayers as you recover and deal with all the details that go with being in a wreck. We’ll especially be praying that Jac’s blood pressure will go down (and stay down) and that she will be able to relax and get some restorative, quality sleep and that your knee will heal completely. I pray you have an uneventful, restful weekend.

Please don’t concern yourself with answering questions for us here on your site. Just take the time off and rest and recuperate. There is not a single question that we Linea Ladies could ask that needs to be answered immediately. I am sure everyone can wait a few days for an answer. Please do whatever you need to do to take care of yourselves right now.

  12. Gail

Louis: Compliments to you on your quick reaction and your driving skill. They surely saved you and Jac from worse injury. Rest and recover.

  13. njlady

Sending hugs & wishes for a speedy recovery to you & Jac.
What a scary situation for you to go through so close to home. You were lucky and hope they take the other drivers
    license away.

  14. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

You were extremely blessed! This could have turned out SO differently!!! Prayers for the full recovery of both of you. You can’t rush either physical or mental recovery from a shock like this. God bless you most especially through the next coming weeks.

    1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Louis, please see the QVC Linea forum site for more people sending you support, concern and prayers. Can’t ever have enough of those!

    2. connie turnbull

My sentiments exactly..(couldn’t have worded it better Nancy).Prayers for
a speedy and full recovery. God’s continued blessings to you both.

  15. Nancy

OMG!! What a terrifying experience. You are so fortunate to be able to come through this without very serious injuries. I think you’re guardian angel was riding in the car with the two of you. Take care and rest as some of the aches and pains and ?? may yet materialize.

    “Red”

  16. liz

Louis,So glad you are ok after the accident. What a scary situation. My best to you and Jac,hope she feels better soon.

Need this in new ruby red leather.
Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Leather Blazer with Rib Knit Sleeves A228554

My all time favorite Linea leather jacket in a blazer style–Most excellent. Any chance ( pretty please) of getting this jacket next year in the gorgeous ruby leather?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear CC…..it will be months before I know if the leather jacket will be a reorder. They have to wait to see what the returns will be before they decide.

  18. connie turnbull

Anyone please…what is the brown paper bag ironing trick for taking wrinkles
our of leather. Temp setting? Right side/wrong side? My new ruby leather jacket has
a couple of wrinkles and I’m getting the black jacket which may or may not have them. Thank you so much for the help.

    1. Frieda

I saw these instructions and hope it will help. I have not tried any of them myself. You can go to google and print in how to get wrinkles out of leather and there are even more suggestions and sites.

      Instructions

      1
Put the leather on a wide wooden, plastic or padded hanger, and gently pull the wrinkles with your hands to straighten them.

      2
Hang the wrinkled leather in the bathroom while you are taking a shower. It is another way of steaming out the wrinkles. Then take the garment out, and put it on a flat surface. Polish it using your hands to make it smooth.

      3
Use an iron to get wrinkles out of leather if needed. Put the leather on an ironing board or flat surface. Use a clean, heavy brown paper or 100 percent cotton cloth, such as a towel, in between the leather garment and the iron to protect the garment from overheating and shine. Avoid using anything that will bleed color in between the iron and the leather. Set the iron at a low to medium heat setting. Gently press the iron with a light, quick hand on the wrinkled portion. Do not use steam while ironing the wrinkled leather.

      4
Use a hair dryer if the wrinkles are not so bad. Set the blow dryer at its highest setting. Hold the dryer wrinkled 8 to 10 inches away from the leather. Move it back and forth to avoid burning the leather. Smooth it with your hands when it gets soft. Do this until the wrinkles disappear.

      5
Cover the leather with breathable cloth, such as cotton sheets, to protect it from dust. Do not store it in plastic bags or coverings or it will cause excessive dryness on the leather.

      6
Keep the leather garment in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place with plenty of room, or it will wrinkle if crowded.

hello. i am in love with this coat: Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Stretch Cotton Leopard Print Jacket but it is not available on waitlist at qvc… is there anywhere else where i can purchase it in brown/multi in medium?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Maureen, I’m not sure which coat you are referring to. I need an A number. However, if QVC doesn’t have this coat then there isn’t any other place where you can buy it.

      1. TexasBarb

My guess is she is looking for A83571. The only size not sold out in brown/multi is the XS.

    2. Gail

Maureen-if it is A83571, I have one in Denim color, medium, worn only a few times. I have gone down a size and it is now too big.

  20. njlady

I know your Jewelry goes quickly. Will you have a sample of your jet, hematite & crystal necklace for us to view?

When do you think you will have pix of your december pieces?
    Thanks again,

  21. Bobbie

    Dear Louis,
It has been so much fun adding all of your new fashions and jewelry with my LDO pieces from seasons past! I am such a fan of your new fall colors. The jewel tones remind me of the holiday season and will really brighten the winter months. I love wearing the posh knits with your pearls and velvet pants. So soft and feminine! On another note, I just want to reinforce for any future designs for the warmer seasons that the pebble crepe and faux shantung fabrics are wonderful. They are so light weight and comfortable for those of us who have to suffer through the oppressive southern summers, but are little too self-conscious to wear sheer fabrics. I have washed my shantung jackets with the pockets so many times, but they still look new. The sheen of the shantung is perfect, so it’s surprisingly versatile. The cotton Phoenix blouses and pants were my fun pieces this past summer and were the perfect weight for 106 degree days!! The Ikat pieces were also lovely; the fabric draped beautifully. I don’t have to wear suits much anymore, since I have retired, but I bought the faux linen suits for this past summer , anyway (just in case). I can’t count the number of times I relied on them, with the matching sweaters, for occasions from church to weddings to conventions to special luncheons. In all of the LDO pieces, I remained cool and confident! Thank you for a great warm weather season! I’m already loving the fall! You are a blessing!

  22. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Just planting a seed. After seeing that you are already sketching a whisper knit muffler – (I’m on board for that) – I wondered if you would ever consider a whisper knit shawl/cape/ruana? Here is my all-time favorite Dennis Basso cape. A228744 I have it in all 3 colors that were originally available. The cut is perfect. The deep 6 inch ruffle is perfect. The length is perfect. The drape and fall is perfect. The only not perfect thing is that it could be improved by being made in whisper knit. I must have 45 of the jackets and blazers you have designed and sold over the past 8 or 9 years (when I first discovered Linea) and in the northeast, if I throw a shawl like this one over any of them, with a whisper knit turtleneck under the jacket – I can go from car to bldg. and from bldg. to car in most of the winter without ever needing a coat. And the combo with any of my Linea jackets is just dynamite. No need to take it off even indoors as it makes a chic fashion statement with lapel, collar, arms and front of the jacket showing. Gorgeous with any of my new tweed blazers, last years houndstooth blazers, this years tweed longer blazers. Just a thought in case you might ever entertain such an idea for an item like this one.

  23. Kathy Riley

    Hi Louis,
I am sorry to repeat a question I just asked the other day but I did not come back to your site soon enough. I wanted to know if there was a blouse or top to go with the perfectly pink jacket with the pearls and black ribbon down the front. If not what do you recommend?
    Thank you so much.

  24. Anonymous

    Louis,

I could not believe it today when I searched for the answer to my question…questions and responses from October 25 totally gone. I hate to ask again but do not know how to go back to find previous questions/responses.
Can you respond again to what we should be looking for in the way of new OLO items between now and your next show the end of December. As I mentioned yesterday I am going through withdrawal and it sounds like I am not alone.
So sorry to ask again but I am such a Linea fan and don’t want to miss anything.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Hi…..between now and my appearances at the end of Dec. I will not have any new apparel OLO items. This month, don’t know exactly when, I will have some new jewelry items. The jet, hematite and crystal long necklaces and matching earring

      1. Goldie76

        Yum yum!

  25. RhondaRena

The camel Posh Knit cardigan is such a fantastic color. I have worn it several times already and went back and ordered the blue. The camel is an excellent choice with black. I wore it over the black ponte dress last Sunday. Looking forward to more ponte knit.

  26. njlady

    Louis,
I’m In withdrawal. I can’t believe you won’t be on until late December.
Will you be presenting more than one item? Or is it the ponte top?

Can you give us some info now that your show is over?
    Thanks for all you do

  27. Pat

Louis I just received your posh knit sweaters. I do not know how you do it. I am almost sixty and do not have that perfect hour glass figure anymore. Than I put on your sweater and wonder how you manage not only to create beautiful colors, fabulous fabric but also create such figure flattering sweaters..

Your posh knits not only feel great they take ten years off…

  28. julie

Hi Louis, I got the camel & pewter Posh Knit mufflers, they are GORGEOUS! LOVE them! Is there any chance you would consider doing mufflers in the Whisper Knit? It would be awesome to have mufflers in teal, topaz, malachite, lapis, ruby, etc… maybe even some with sequins? I know the Posh Knit is a more luxe fabrication, but I have to say it’s pretty amazing how fantastic that Whisper Knit is without the high end fibers. Thanks so much for all you do!!

      1. julie

OMG!!! That’s FANTASTIC!!!!! I can’t wait!!! THANK YOU!!!!!

      2. Goldie76

        I’m looking forward to those!

      3. dee

Thats what I want too! thanks Louis

        Dee

        1. Sherry

          ME too!!!

  29. Ellen

I ordered black leather buttons from M & J. I think they will work nicely with the herringbone jacket. I will let you know the result. Thanks for the help. Enjoy your day as well.

  30. Ellen

Thanks, Louis, for the “button help.” I will let you know how I do. What other designer would help me out like this…you are unbelievable! By the way, love the black leather jacket as well as ALL of the other beauties I have received. On my way to check out the buttons. Enjoy this cold day..I think it is a new black leather jacket day.

  31. gk27

Good morning Louis. I’m already having withdrawals. I can’t wait for your Spring clothing. I am new to your line and am trying to “catch up” and buy new. Now I’m looking at your earlier Spring collections and can’t wait to purchase but I have to let my credit card cool off! Could you give us a “teaser” about you new designs you might have in the works? Will you be bringing back small sizes in the denim jacket and the lace jacket in black A223652? OMG, it’s only October!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear gk27…..welcome to the world of Linea…..I think you found me at just the right time. As you know this year we have instituted some new OLO [on line only] products such as the Ponte Knit and the Posh Knit. The Whisper Knit continues to be the all time favorite sweater line. The denim jacket will be returning this spring in the three colors….Indigo, White and Sunburst Yellow…..plus we are adding the new Aqua which is the same Aqua as the WK sweaters from spring…..PLUS there will be additional styles in the denim for OLO purchasing…….so, the denim group is expanding! The Lace Jacket will also be returning in the Black plus two new colors, Ivory and Seafoam.

  32. Ellen

Hi Louis. I received the black and white “houndstooth” jacket (A238540), I and love it. However, I do not wear gold and would like to change the buttons. Any suggestions about where to buy buttons? I am on Long Island, and I don’t know of any fabric stores that are still around. I thought about checking the internet. Can you help me out with this? Thanks so much for everything you do for us.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Ellen……your best bet is going on the internet. M&J Trimming and Tender Buttons are the two that come to mind that sell to the public. They are both in NYC and are on the internet. Tender Buttons is a fabulous button store, but the help can be snarly. If you can get passed that they do have fabulous buttons, but they can also be expensive depending on what you pick. M&J is a large store on 6th Ave, and has some nice things also, but not the antique buttons Tender Buttons has. They also are a great resource for trimmings….Jac uses them to trim her needle point pillows. For your Hounds Tooth, M&J may be your best bet. Type in “Buttons NYC” and I’m sure many will come up.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

I just googled “buttons L.I.N.Y.” and lots of names came up. You may want to give them a try first instead of going into the city.

  33. Kathy Riley

    Hi Louis,
A while back I purchased a jacket from your collection, it was the one with pearls and ribbon down the front. I chose the one in perfectly pink. My question is, what kind of blouse/ top would you recommend to wear with it? I have tried it with black, but that looks kind of drab. Did you or do you offer a perfectly pink matching top?
Thanks in advance for answering my question.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kathy, at the moment there are no Perfectly Pink tops avail, and as of now there aren’t any planned for next spring….but that can change.

  34. CC

    Hrelpful Hint For Pilling
I have found that putting the Posh Knit items in the dryer fo about 10 minutes takes care of the lose fibers & pilling. Now you do have to clean out the lint trap afterwards;).

  35. Beano

Received the herringbone jacket and muffler today. I always marvel at how beautfully your jackets fit me (8). It’s a stretch for me to wear color but I adore the blue. Also got the muffler in black and white even though the jacket was sold out.
And the posh sweaters, lovely as they are would, not be quite so impressive without the mataching muffler.
    The mufflers are an inspiration.
    Waiting patiently for the tuxedo.

  36. Anonymous

    Louis,

I have received my “too numerous to count” packages from the last show and love every item. I will now suffer from withdrawal until your next appearance the end of December. Can you please list any new OLO items to be looking for in the next couple of months?

Your time and your talent are much appreciated!

  37. Sherry

I am so heart broken…I have to return my Posh Knit new arrivals. I must be one of the few people to be allergic to cashmere. The pieces I purchased are to be worn against the body, I did not know I couldn’t wear cashmere…I had the tank and cardi on today for about 10-15 minutes and the itching was unbearable…so sad…I have a tiny problem with wool, but am able to wear the wool blend sweaters, and of course I adore the WK sweaters.

    1. Nancy

Hi Sherry, I, too, noticed the “itching” almost immediately, however I do love the sweater (length, feel and color of camel). I purchased the cardigan and last night put it on over a white blouse with black pants. Obviously I had no itching with the blouse underneath. I know it can be difficult to confine oneself to wearing it only one way, but in my opinion, it is such a great sweater and I will do so. If it were a turtleneck, that wouldn’t be an option. As we all know, Louis demands high quality, so it just must be that we are “super sensitive”!

  38. Mary Kellogg

    Louis,

I wore my houndstooth skirt today. I was thinking that this STYLE of skirt, lined, would be fab for summer.

This skirt in ivory, navy and black, something in a sturdy fabric like the navy and brown skirts this past summer, the striped ones. Or something that had the look of linen, but didn’t wrinkle.

    Just an idea….

  39. Ann/Snicksters

Good evening Louis, sorry to have to ask this, but…how much pilling can we expect to have with the posh knit pieces? I ordered a LOT of scarves as gifts most to be sent out of state, so, need to know if I am going to have to add sweater shavers with all of these? Reading complaints on QVC forums about a pilling issue, as I have not yet received my order. Thanks for your advice on this.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Ann, I can only speak from my experience. The silk/cashmere turtleneck that we have been selling for the past three years has had little to no complaints. Jac and I when into NYC this evening to see a show on Broadway, “Betrayal”, and I wore the ivory scarf with a black jacket. I had it on and off all evening from 4pm to 11pm and I had no fuzzing or pilling. Jac has worn the camel cardigan and so far so good. I have advised my manufacturer about some of the complaints that have been posted. She’s in China right now, so I will discuss it with her again when she gets home. Jac and I have also ordered about 12 scarves to give as presents, so I too hope this isn’t a problem……As I said the reason we did this program was due to the TN success. That’s really all I can say at the moment.

  40. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

Hi Louis – I would also like to chime in about your incredible fall collection. WOW! I am one lucky gal!
    My favorites:
The leather jacket, the hooded blazer, the textured v-neck, the new shorter crew-neck long sleeved whisper knit top, the herringbone blouse, the posh knit scarf, jewel neck, and cardigan, the boucle coat, the slim pants, the sequin top/skirt, the asymmetric zip jacket, and the Ottoman suit. ALL are worthy of continuing in new colors, or in the case of the pants in both new/old colors (IMO).
    On the Fence:
I am not sure I’m sold on the fabric of A237555 and earlier pieces (pants, tank, etc). While the feel on the body is wonderful (the part I like), they tend to have a bit of sloppy wrinkly look, despite my efforts to steam. It’s not good for a day that goes from early in the morning to evening, but works ok if you’re layering the cardi (buttoned up) or a jacket (buttoned up) to hide this. The pants get many little wrinkle lines when you sit and they are hard to get out even after washing (and I purchased one size up to make sure they were not tight in any way). I kept these pieces for their luxurious feel, but I am somewhat restricted on when/where I’ll wear them.
    Still begging for:
Slim leg gaberdine pants that came in fawn, olive and black
    Had problems with:
A235322 – I wore this jacket one time with a small Dooney cross-body bag (i.e. nice quality) for an evening of Greek food and entertainment. When I arrived home I was embarrassed to see that the fabric had started to get fluffy, literally falling apart, pilled with fluffies where my bag had been. It was a great style in a lovely color (blue), but I did have to send that one back.

Overall I would say this is one of your best collections, ever! I’m going to miss seeing you on air, but wish you and Jac a wonderful holiday season, full of relaxation and fun. Love you!!!! 🙂

  41. farmerwife

Louis, I received the sequin top and skirt in all three colors and coud not be more pleased. The lapis and ruby pants are also wonderful. I also ordered the red leather jacket, and love it along with the fit. I do have one question on the jacket. Unfortunalely, it has a squeaking sound whenever I move my arms in any way at all. I have had other leather jackets, some yours as well as other brands, and have never had this problem. My question is, “Is there something I can do to aleviate this noise whenever I move?” I really don’t want to send it back, but know I would be self conscious whenever I wear it unless I can “stop the noise”. Hopefully this won’t come across as a criticism, I really am looking for an answer so I can enjoy this wonderful jacket. I would order another one to replace this one, but there are none left in the ever popular XS size. I can not tell you how well all of your clothes fit me. My wardrobe is so much better since finding your things on the Q. Thank you so much for making ladies look good and feel good about themselves.

    1. Not Louis, but my Ruby jacket also has a small amount of squeak. Good leather English saddles can also have a small amount of squeak when new, but they get worked out with use as the leather softens and conforms to the body of both horse and rider. There are products that help break in horse tack, but I wouldn’t use any of them on my jacket as they will alter the color. I am just going to wear my jacket to break it in! Louis may well have some other ideas.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear farmerwife….this is a new one for me….squeaky? I have to say no one has said this to me before. The only thing I can recommend is to wear it and break it in. Leather does soften with wear and age. You have a long time to wear it before it has to be returned.

      1. farmerwife

Thank you, appreciate that. I think I will wear it around during the day at home and hopefully that will help. Lke I said, I love the looks of the jacket along with all the other great things. I am certainly ready for anything the holidays throws at me with all the sequins, mathcing pants, and this great jacket along with the WK “tie” cardigan in the ruby and the lapis. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that lapis color.

  42. Hi, Louis! I ordered ALL of the herringbone pieces in the Black/Ivory colorway and am delighted with all of them. However, I am thinking of doing some kind of trim for the shawl. One possibility is a self-fringe on the short ends. As I don’t have a swatch of the fabric, I don’t know how this would work out. It appears that the short edges are lengthwise on the grain and I have never done a self fringe on anything but the crossgrain. Another possibility is foldover braid or a gimp of some kind.Or I could attach fringe using a crochet hook and black yarn. As an interior designer I never wanted to leave an edge un-embellished! Can you give me any direction on this? Thanks so much!

  43. Beryl

    Dear Louis,
For many, many years I have celebrated the entire month of October as my birt hday month. This year I stocked up with Linea. Jackets,WK, PK(that’s a gorgeous fabric ) and that wonderful gem of the sequin top. At age 82 I dont know if I need all that but I’m in love with every single piece.
You are not only an incrediable designer but a wonderful human being. I know of no other designer who makes himself so available to his clientle.
We all love you and thank you, and I thank for letting me have such a wonderful birthday month.
I still have a little over a week to get into more trouble.
    much love,
    Beryl

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Beryl…..HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY….I think celebrating for a month is perfect! You’re never too old to care how you look!

  44. Kate

I almost feel disloyal to my original sequin skirts, but LDO, I love these new ones even more! Very elegant and the shorter skirt is super flattering. Bought black and ruby and just now ordered lapis as well. If these ever come back and you can do other colors, may I request a rich, charcoal grey? Oh, love the top too and appreciate the advice to order up a size.

  45. Sherry

Hi Louis, I just finished hemming my new trousers in black. Great pants, while I love the slim leg pants, this trouser has it’s own WOW factor. These fit like you tailored them just for me, love, love, love the pockets and the size of the pockets…I’m thinking I may just have to have a pair in the ruby, I already put a second pair of black on waitlist…great trousers, hope to see it return in more colors next year!!!

  46. Mary Kellogg

Louis, hope you are feeling better! I know the last thing you want is another question or suggestion..!

Today I am wearing your fabulous dual zip vest in Walnut. I love this vest. I was thinking how wonderful, super and great one of these vests would be in BLACK LEATHER. I would pay a pretty penny for the exact vest in leather. Please consider it. Edge, new and fresh!

    1. Waterbaby

Oh, yes, indeed, Mary. Great idea. Perhaps next season and more colors of the quuilted vest.

      1. Sherry

Great idea!!! Maybe a leather front and knit back to keep the costs down…either way I’m in!!!

    2. connie turnbull

Great suggestion Mary Kellogg…Count me in for a black and red vest(any color)Louis and please bring the leather jacket back in more colors. I was lucky enough to get the ruby and it is BEAUTIFUL.

    3. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Mary…..the first sample of this vest was LEATHER!!! but everyone thought it was too expensive. It was almost as expensive as the jacket. “They” didn’t think the price was going to be understood compare to a jacket……I couldn’t argue…..maybe with a full knit back it would be OK. RL has a jacket right now with a leather front and knit sleeves and back for about $400.

      1. DeLois

Louis, Years ago when I made all of my clothes I got brown leather from Tandy”s Leather Store and machine quilted the leather for the front of the vest. I then machhine quilted a padded lining for the back of the vest. Bound buttonholes completed the look. My vest is shorter, but I still wear it today and it is timeless. I bought your vest in the blue and have not worn it yet, but I do love it and will wear it soon……

      2. Mary Kellogg

I wouldn’t hesitate to pay $175 for this vest in leather. Absolutely love it. A knit back would be fab, too!

        Please consider it!

  47. Sharon Santourian Holman

Another Birthday a Girl here. :). Hey now, the numbered sizes are perfect!! OMG, perfect tailored fit! I am between 14-16, I ordered the 16 because I’m sitting at a desk all day and need comfort. Louis, it was a huge difference on the fit of the lapis jacket and gaberdine trouser!!

  48. Cathy in PA

Hi Louis, “birthday” lady reporting in on the “box opening event” this afternoon … B & W Herringbone Jacket is a winner and the numbered sizing is a MUCH better fit for us plus sized ladies. Posh Knit Tank, Cardigan and T Neck are wonderful; got the T Neck in 2 sizes and like both; one alone, and one slimmer for layering. Posh Mufflers in Black and Raspberry are just perfect. Black Leather Coat … generous and fantastic. The surprise delight??? RUBY and BLACK Sequin skirts and tops! Only you could convince a plus size lady to dare sequins … love the fit, love the colors, love the pieces mixed and matched with the Herringbone Jacket, last year’s Houndstooth pieces, and this year’s RUBY topper, as well as the Posh Knits … THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Birthday Lady……….loved reading your message. You should re-post this on the QVC Fashion Forum as I am sure other lovely plus ladies would get a lot from your comments…..don’t forget to leave your reviews…..you’re lucky….you got your haul pretty quickly….or did you order before the show? Happy Birthday….wear everything in GOOD HEALTH!

      1. Cathy in PA

Thanks Louis! I’ve been leaving reviews all over Q since I posted here; Posh Knits DONE; off to do Sequins next … and then a general “review” post on forum threads. Since I do live in PA, the UPS truck arrives very quickly. I ordered everything just before or during the show, from the comfort of my laptop by the river campsite, except for the Raspberry PK which I got last week as a “size test drive”. I am just jumping up and down in delight over those sequins, Posh Knits and the Ruby topper … what a travel wardrobe of mix and match … now to lobby Walter for somewhere to go LOL. Thanks again for the birthday wish; couldn’t have asked for better presents; ones that made me feel beautiful!

  49. Waterbaby

    Hi, Louis:
I am so glad you are on the mend. Hopefully, you got your one cold of the season out of the way!

I purchased the lapis and black “laguid” (I just love that word) trousers and I am going back for the ruby. I never thought I could wear anything but black, brown, gray and winter white bottoms, but these are just fabulous and fit me like a glove. At 5’4″ I thought they would need to be hemmed but with my one inch heel boots they are just the way I like them.

I have all three toppers and a wide variety of colors and styles in the WK so I am column dressing as soon as it gets cooler here.

    Blessings and thank you. Fran

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Fran…..I am so glad we both took the plunge and did some fun color bottoms. I always love the look of head to toe dressing. Halston always did it so well…..but it’s easier to do when it’s all cashmere!I also love a color bottom with a black sweater…….so chic……..It sounds like you are ready for the fall weather…….they are saying the cold weather is right around the corner.

  50. Kathy

    Hi Louis
Just received your red leather jacket today. It’s my fifth jacket from your Fall collection this year. Love them all and I may have to go back for the green as I see there is stock available.
Would you consider a spruce green TN next year? Love the slim leg pants.
Thanks for all your hard work and making us all look so good!
    Happy vacation!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kathy…..I certainly would…..I offered one a while go, but it’s time to bring it back…..I’m going to have to start a pole soon on what colors everyone wants in the new WK for fall/winter 2014!

      1. Nomy

Count me in for that dark green color . Just received all my goodies today and the dark green leather jacket is my favorite. Now we need a matching turtleneck. The Herringbone jacket and skirt are to die for and the cotton blouse with the tie bow is beautiful. Love everything. Thank you Louis.

  51. Sandra from Jax, FL

    Hi Louis!
Sorry to say I missed the first hour of your show the other day with Mary Beth and of all things to miss and not be able to buy, was the black herringbone blazer! It sold out before I could get it!!! Boo Hoo!!! Well, lucky for you, anyway. 🙂 I keep watching the web page hoping that someone will cancel out, but in the meantime, can you please tell me that this blazer will be coming back in the black this year? I did manage to get the red and blue, but REALLY do want the black one most of all(Item A238540). Can you please give me some good news about being able to get more of this blazer?

I have to also say that your collection this year is really wonderful. You certainly are a wonderful designer and thanks for all you do to keep us looking great!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sandra….I am sorry to say there will be no additional blazers coming in this year. We are basically finished manufacturing the fall/winter collection and the factories are busy manufacturing SPRING. I would strongly suggest going on wait list for the black/ivory blazer. There are always a certain percentage of women who will return for one reason or another.

      1. Sandra from Jax, FL

Sadly, there is no waitlist! The black blazer was completely sold out and the only size available would be way too big for me. Well, I’m going to continue to keep the webpage open and hope that somebody cancels or returns the item. It is so darn cute and the black/white herringbone is in style too! Bummers!

        1. Nancy

Hi Sandra, It just occurred to me that ladies who miss out on their size should post it here. I ordered that black tweed jacket and expect it to fit; however, if it didn’t I think it would be a good idea to send it on to someone that wants it rather than return it and penalize Louis as a “return”. I know this column can’t be a “clearing house” for wishful buyers, but it would be nice if there was somewhere we could “exchange” with other fans of Louis.

  52. Patti ("Writer with Flair")

Will there be earrings to match the Irregular Bead Multi Strand Necklace (J284035)? If so, will they be clip and pierced? I loved that necklace with the black top and pants that Jacque wore on QVC. What a classic, great look!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Patti…there isn’t any specific earring. I use the swirl, the Demi hoop and earrings I have in my collection. I will have a new gold hoop for early spring that looks great with it.

  53. njlady

    Good Morning,
Hope you are well rested from the Show. Just confirming, the J273583 from show that Jaq had on was one long piece that she
twisted once to make shorter? Is it on string or wire – some reviews said it came broken. Just want to make sure you can
wrap around neck. Thanks again. Also, is the black tone just black and hematite or anything else. Heard to tell

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear njlady…..the necklace is approx. 65 1/2 inches long with a 3 inch extender, so it is definitely long enough to double. It has black jet, hematite, and a crystal bead that is half silver…I think it’s silver….can’t remember, but there are three beads in it. It is on string. If you are worried, and anything should happen to it my manufacturer will restring it.

  54. Hi, Louis! Sorry to read on Jac’s FB page that you are under the weather. OG and I have the same thing. Do please take care of yourself now that you have some down time! Beautiful show, but I was disappointed you were not able to show “The Bow Blouse”. Where we saw it in tandem with other items it appeared that the span of the bow was not as wide as it appeared in your sneak peek. Was it tied on the show at its full width? Thanks so much!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Actually, my cold is better, now I have a tickle in my throat which causes me to cough, but that’s getting better too. The bow was full width on the models, but they probably didn’t tie it with a big bow and short streamer ends the way I did. You really can vary it a lot. As I told you if you fold it in half before you tie it….it will be much smaller.

      1. Happy that you are in the mend, Louis! I bet a lot can be done with that tie, including just folding it over and pinning a brooch on it. I hope we will be able to see it live at some point!

      2. Mary

I fell in love with the cuff on that blouse (of all things). I just love tiny details that peek out.

Since it wasn’t shown, would you slip a few shots of it into your next Sneak Peek? Especially with alternate ways to tie the streamers.

Feel better soon, it’s so beautiful outside. I traveled up to walk across the Walkway Over the Hudson over the weekend. It was spectacular. I hope you get to enjoy the fall foliage.

      3. Mary Kellogg

I’ve been putting up with the same thing for two weeks. Two weeks of a crashing bad cold, now the endless cough. I’m exhausted.

  55. Seka

    Louis,

Fabulous Show! Such a pleasure to watch – and listen to you present your Collection! Was lucky to get the Black/Ivory Tweed Ensemble including the Shawl! And – the Forest Green Leather Jacket – WOW!

Thank you for all you do for the Linea Ladies – I wear something Linea every single day!

    Enjoy your vacation!

  56. Jane

Thanks, Louis, for the beautiful show. It was such a lovely pleasant 2 hours and Mary Beth as host was great and works so well with you. Once again you outdid yourself. We all know the hard work and efforts it takes to do these presentations and we really appreciate it. Jac looked lovely in the fuchsia seamed blazer and Whisper Knits. I was so happy to see her in that color (my favorite). Can’t wait for some cooler weather so I can start wearing my fuchsia jacket. Waiting now for my forest green leather jacket! Thanks for all you do. Enjoy your well-deserved rest.

  57. Cathy Dassler

    Dear Louis & Jac,

Huge congratulations on today’s fabulous show. I bought myself lots of luxurious birthday presents … silk and cashmere, wool blends, SEQUINS, leathers … and Walter was happy he didn’t have to go shopping 🙂 I got Raspberry Posh Knit pieces a few days ago and can’t say enough good things about this warm, soft cloud like fabrication! And I’m one who usually finds cashmere to be very itchy … not these! Ordered Black set today, and will keep adding to my collection. THANK YOU! Now that you have a break, is the beach calling?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cathy….the beach is always calling….after all we all have salt water in our veins! So glad you like the Posh Knits. I have to say I’m always surprised to hear women say cashmere is itchy?? Cashmere should be anything but itchy, unless of course someone is allergic, and that would be unfortunate.Good quality cashmere is never itchy. The itch come from impurities left in the yarn….not the yarn itself. That only happens with a pure quality product. Your Walter is a GOOD MAN! I suggest you keep him!!

  58. Candace

Well, I took no chances today (remember the fiasco with the dot com down last month)! I stayed up until 2 am and got my leather jackets (red & black), b & w tweed set, pants and dresses. Thank you Louis and Jac for the fabulous show, your blog, your sincerity, your talent. I could go on. I taped the show so I can savor again. I think I missed the sneak peek of the tux I remember you mentioned. Did I? Can you tell me when it was on?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Candance…..you didn’t miss the Tuxedo. I took it out of the show, because it was canceled due to a late delivery….however, it will be back next year.

      1. Sherry

So do we have to wait till Oct 2014 for the tuxedo, or will it be ready for after the first of the year???

  59. connie turnbull

GREAT SHOW LOUIS AND JAC…Fastest two hours that left me wanting more, more.
What a sweet, talented and lovely couple, so happy that you’re there for us.
Thank you and can’t wait for the December show.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Connie….I do not have a full show on Dec 27th. I will have an appearance with Pat and Jane on their morning show and then I will be on again that evening on PM Style with Lisa.

  60. Sonia

Great show as usual! Thank you and Jac for your hard work and talent.

Do you know why the new bow blouse wasn’t aired? I had been looking forward to your showing it.

    1. Donna

I too was hoping to see it presented. Next time…

  61. Beano

Your earrings are very special but my ears are not pierced. Please do more clip ons.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The large jewel stone earrings are only clip. Some styles they can’t make clip.

  62. Beano

Great show. I could have watched you for another two hours. I wasn’t swift enough to get the black herringbone jacket before it sold out so ordered it in blue, with the matching muffler. It will dress up my jeans.
Sorry about the tuxedo. But we’ve been waiting for it for a long time so a little longer will be O.K.
Request the posh knits in malachite, please.

  63. Geri Pembroke

Hello Louis, I was watching your 2-hour QVC show this morning and had a follow-up question. Kate was dressed in your boho skirt with the white WN turtle neck and the gorgeous spruce green crew neck cardigan with velvet trim. I was not quick enough to write everything down so could you tell me what color boho skirt you had styled her in and which jewelry pieces would best suit this entire look. Thank you in advance for your further input

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Geri….if you are talking about the “Shabby Chic” cardigan with the velvet ribbon trim….Maria was in the black/gray, Angela was in the mushroom/aqua, and Brenda was in the teal cardigan with the white cotton shirt, and the teal boho skirt…….that’s the only cardigan with velvet.

  64. Elissa , MN

Regarding the HERRINGBONE JACKET AND SKIRT – a person wrote a “review” basically complaining that these pieces are too long for a petite person. Since she did not purchase the items, I reported her comments because they were not reviews, they were complaints. The other shopping channel does not permit reviews if one did not purchase the item, and I believe Q should do the same. BTW, I am 5’2″ and did order these pieces as well as the lapis slacks and herringbone scarf. I’ll make my own decision if I want to have anything altered.
I also ordered the LAPIS BOUCLE JACKET in M even though I need a S. I’ll see if it will work as an overcoat because I adore the LAPIS and could not pass it up.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That kind of “review” really is annoying. Not everything works for everyone’s body type….believe me I would love to buy Armani suits, but those days are long gone. I wouldn’t give them a bad review because I can’t wear them….it’s very silly…..and I agree, QVC should police this better.I will say something to TPTB.

      1. Many of us reported this review as well as another one by the same person as being “Inappropriate”. They are both still there.

      2. Elissa , MN

I just received my Boucle Jacket in Med Lapis, and so glad I did, even though I needed a small. I WILL wear it as an overcoat. I am 5’2″ and ordered the LAPIS Trouser to make a column look with the jacket. I will hem them an inch or two and wear 3″ heels. It is worth the alterations to me to find gorgeous Lapis Blue offerings in your line. Please continue to include this color in your palette. I feel so fortunate to purchase your clothing at such reasonable prices. Call me giddy!

      3. Elissa , MN

Louis, I received my HERRINGBONE JACKET and SKIRT and they were PERFECTLY FINE on my 5’2″ height. The skirt fell just below my knee, and the jacket length was fabulous, as I was thrilled I could button it all the way down, as I am a “pear” 8-10.I only have to have the sleeves shortened, and am pleased it does not involve a button and vent. I also bought the matching scarf and will probably make it shorter. I do hope you can talk to TPTB and get the “review” removed that was complaining these pieces would not fit a petite. I am proof, and feeling gorgeous!

  65. njlady

    WOW – super show
    So put together and informative.

I think during first hour, you had one of models in a long sparkly, dark necklace (maybe black or hematitie). I don’t think it was round beads. I thought I’d see on line but couldn’t find it.
Can you tell me what it was?
    Thanks for all you do
Can’t believe you won’t be on until End of December –

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I am sure you couldn’t find it from the photo. It’s J273583 necklace and she had the J273584 bracelet. The bracelet is a slightly better photo…..bot in the black/ hematite.
