    Hello Louis,
I really am looking forward to your shows in dec. Last nt i had the boucle topper item A3128 on in black. Everyone asked me where I got it from. I know you cannot do boucle anymore, but can you please do some more warm toppers in black and a variety of other colors. I know there is the ethnic emb. topper, but thats crepe and i like to walk in with a showcase item on. I like the topper length withjeans and boots. Love all your sneak peeks.
    regards

    1. nikki

I meant a topper as a warm outerwear like item A3128.

  2. Chris/Jazzmom

    Hi Louis,

Will the sales of the Byzantine jewelry determine if earrings will be offered to complete the set or maybe even a bracelet(not a stretch one but a link kind) in the future?
Anxiously awaiting the unveiling of this jewelry at the Q.

Regards to you and Jac always,
    Chris

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Chris,
I have no idea what criteria, if any, will determine whether the jewelry line continues. IMHO, the Linea jewelry is the best quality out of any of the other costume lines they now carry, but that is just MHO and that won’t get them to continue. I’m not even sure if the jewelry blows out if they will continue. I would hope so but, one never knows…I already have samples that were not ordered of the earrings to go with both the pearls and the Byzantine pieces if they decide to continue…we shall see………regards, Louis

  3. Sherry in KS

Louis, if the Q continues your jewelry line; would you consider doing some pieces in sterling silver plate? I adore the cross necklace and I’m very much a pearl girl; but, 99% of my jewelry is sterling silver. I would think I’m not the only person out there with a quanity of sterling. While I do mix metals, can’t always match buttons and trims….well it’s a thought. Thank you for listening to our ideas.
    Sherry in Kansas (tailsworth)

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sherry,
It was always my intent to offer both gold and silver and if the line continues, which is very doubtful, I would certainly like to have silver as part of the offerings…………regards, Louis

      1. Sherry in KS

So sorry if the Q doesn’t continue to carry your jewelry. Have to wonder what they’re thinking not to want to carry such high quality, classic-never go out of style items that people want to buy. Go figure, huh? Guess we’ll have to watch and wait to find out. Fingers crossed and stars in alignment(lol), maybe we’ll see some more jewelry. Thanks for taking the time to read my request.
        Sherry

  4. Susan (aka Carlytwila)

Louis, Will the length on the Regular length new pant be 32″? Many thanks in advance for the early information.

    1. louisdellolio

Hi Susan…..the answer is yes. All of my pants for the regular length will be 32 inches with a 1 1/4 inch usable hem……..regards, Louis

  5. Suzzeee (Susana)

Thanks so much for the sneak peeks! I love that python print top…also that green pucker fabric looks fabulous!! Between those and the fab jewelry coming my cc is in trouble in December!!

  6. Sharon Santourian-Holman

That python blouse is fabulous!! I will be getting in both colors and looking forward to getting some pants. I wished I had got the slim leg pant. I hoe they make a return visit in 2012. Rave reviews . Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sharon,
You’ll have to wait on the sneak peek of the python jersey top to decide what color you will want it in …..it comes in four colors…….Louis

      1. Anonymous

Oh my poor credit card…LOL. Thank you and love our Linea.:)

  7. G

    Happy Thanksgiving

Can you describe the waist and shape and length of the new pants coming in 4 colors in December, please? I know it is hard to show them in a “sneak peak.”

  8. Susie (aka Sammijo)

    Hi, Louis!

Sneak Peek #5 is stunning! I have been ravenously in search of a spruce skirt to coordinate with my leopard print jacket and new suede jacket. Much like Blindogs, I am addicted to that green.

I have two questions about the skirt, first, what is the length? Second, is it lined and would you consider this a knit or woven fabric?

Thank you so much for the sneak peeks. A perfect way to keep us drooling when there’s no show in November! Thanks again!

    Susie

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Susie,
The skirt is lined and is aprox 24 1/2 inches to 25 inches with the bias waist band.It really depends on wear the skirt “sits” on you as to wear it will hit your knee. There is a 1 1/4 inch usable hem. It is technically a knit fabric as the blouse with the separate cowl is, but it looks more like a woven. By the way that was three questions. LOL……..regards, Louis

    2. Susie (aka Sammijo)

Thanks so much, Louis. Sorry for the extra question, I never was very good at math!

      Susie.

  9. Beano

    Dear Louis
You are from overloading us with sneak peeks. I’d like one every day. They are so helpful and pleasurable. More! More!

  10. Sandi

Dear Louis, Another question re orders: Has the leopard print jacket A83571 been, or will it be, re-ordered in the Iris color? TIA Sandi

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sandi,
It will be a few months before I know if the jacket is going to reordered at all.
When I know for sure and the orders are written I will let you know, but it is going to be some time…………regards, Louis

  11. Diane Klober

I think these “Sneak Peeks” are a great idea. I bet it will minimize returns because so many of us buy sight unseen.

  12. Sandi

Louis a big THANK YOU for the sneak peeks!! You know we’re ever so grateful. The December shows will be amazing, but I must say my mind is also on the January (Spring) show with my favorite pearl blazer. (A213215) I read about the lilac here and the Q already offers the sand on waitlist. What are all the colors of pants being offered then? TIA. Most Sincerely, Sandi

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Sandi, Since the ivory and perfectly pink were not reordered…..just the black….the pants will be in black, lilac and sand……regards, Louis

      1. Sandi

Thanks, Louis. I can’t wait! Would love some of your ivory pants if you were able to offer them again–ivory or winter white in the same material as the jacket. Sincerely, Sandi

        1. Sandi

PS I did read your reply that the ivory jacket was not re-ordered but just requesting ivory and winter white pants in general. I know you would offer them to us if you could. Maybe the buyer will wake up and know they would sell out in a nanosecond. TIA!

  13. Rhoda

Hi Louis, It is I, again. Some of us were wondering if the new faux suede jacket for Dec., the one in your photo , is a true deep black, or a soft black, bordering on almost charcoal. It looks like a striking, go to jacket.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Rhoda,
I would have to say it is a soft black. It’s not a deep dark jet black due to the type of fabric, but it is definitely black. When I put it up to grays….it reads black……..however, I wouldn’t argue if someone said it was a very dark charcoal. That said…..for me it’s still black……regards, Louis

  14. Rhoda

Dear Louis,Does the weight, fabrication, and dye lot of the black tunic coming in Dec. match the black slim pant, or would purchasing the matching black contour pant be advisable?

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Rhoda, I can not guarantee the black slim pant will match the new tunic. The fabrics, even though they are similar in content, are different and come from two different fabric companies. If you absolutely want a match, I would suggest getting the new pant. The fabric is beautiful and the cut is very graceful……regards, Louis

      1. Rhoda

Thank you Louis for your quick reply. I will take your advice, as always.

      2. Diane

Love your classic styles. I own most of your sweaters, love how they feel against my skin. My dilemma is I’m 5ft tall, size S and XS, I usually just wear your sweaters with khakis and black pants for work, I do physical therapy. But I’d like to own a couple skirts for different occasions and your skirts on the Q are all too long for me. would you ever consider doing some petite skirts once in a while? would love a slim skirt with just a little flare at the bottom and a boho. Thank you for your fine work.

        1. louisdellolio

          Dear Diane,
When it comes to whether clothes are sold in petite or tall sizes it is totally up to the buyer and planners. I have absolutely no say in those decisions. When a style is offered in petite or tall, it becomes double or triple the investment due to the total range of sizes that need to be bought. The decision becomes…..do they put that money into one style or invest it in one or two more new styles. If it were up to me everything would be avail. in petite and tall, but I’m not in charge of the purse strings…I hope you understand it is totally out of my hands………………….regards, Louis

  15. Sherry in KS

Hi Louis, does the iris leopard print jacket blend with the new violet faux suede skirt? I didn’t see that anybody had asked that before. Thanks for your time.
    Sherry

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sherry,
I checked my samples just to be sure they were the same shades of purple and YES…..they look great together.
Thinking ahead…..do you recall the A213215, blazer from last spring with the pearl buttons? It came in Black, P. Pink and Ivory. It has been reordered for this coming January and one of the new colors is a beautiful Lavender. There will be the jacket, a tank in the Whisper Knit and pants…..all dyed to match. It makes a stunning suit especially with my pearl necklaces. I only bring it up because the Lavender looks incredible with the Iris Leopard print jacket. It’s a good way to bridge the jacket right into spring and early summer……regards, Louis

      1. kate

Would you pair the new lavender pieces with the white pearls or the (coming soon!) colored pearls like the gray?

        1. louisdellolio

If worn with the jacket, the white pearls since the jacket has the white pearl button and a gold rim, but if you wore the tank with, say the gray chenille jacket, the gray pearls would look great. Lavender and gray is a great combo…..
          …………..LDO

          1. Fabby

Hi Louis – I remember when your name was on the Anne Klein label…Louis Dell’Olio for Anne Klein. I had no idea what that meant at the time, but Anne Klein’s trademark lion was “the” label and symbol to have late seventies/early eighties. So I have loved your work for decades! I have one of the original colors of the wonderful taffeta plaid shirt that is still sold on QVC.
I write to ask what shade of green is the spruce green for the asymmetrical suede jacket – QVC does not have a color swatch and the color isn’t featured in the video either. Is it like a dark teal, or dark blue green?
BTW if you ever get lost in Hackensack again please drop in to see us! Thanks so much!

            1. louisdellolio

              Dear Fabby,
That’s funny! I’d probably get lost in Hachensack trying to find you in Hackensack!
The Spruce Green is definitely not teal, It is a true green on the blue side as apposed to the yellow side. What you would expect a deep dark green to look like. I can’t even refer you to another garment because everything I have had in Spruce green is sold out……I hope this helps…….regards, Louis

      2. Chris/Jazzmom

Does this lavender jacket match or go well with the frosted lilac ruffled neckline tank you had late spring of this year? The frosted lilac jackets are no longer available in any size at QVC.

        1. louisdellolio

          Dear Chris,
I just checked the samples and unfortunately they do not work. The frosted lilac is more pink and the lavender is bluer………..regards, Louis

      3. Sherry in KS

Ooooh goodie, I don’t have anything in the purple/lavender coloration and that iris leopard jacket has been calling my name. I’ll just have to have the iris and then the lavender for spring. Thanks so much for your time….Sherry

  16. Beano

    Dear Louis
I adore the sneak peeks. What a great idea! Looking forward to all three shows in December.

  17. Claudia (chprsp)

Today I wore the gray chenille jacket with the pp t neck and gray riding skirt on a trip to the VA medical center about 60 miles away. Love it.

I have a question regarding the velvet skirt in purple. Do tou think it will work with that wonderful orchid wool jacket some of us discovered last year? I remember you saying (at least I think I do) that jacket would work with the grape skirt from a couple years ago.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Claudia,
I no longer have that sample to put the two together so I can’t give you a yes or no answer. I will say the purple velvet is very dark so they should work and the silhouettes will definitely work together. I would also like it with your gray chenille jacket and the purple t-neck…..some wonderful purple accessories…i,e, purple stone earrings, long bead necklace and a scarf to pull it all together would look great…….regards, Louis

      1. Claudia (chprsp)

Thanks a lot. I put them together and thought they worked but wanted to check with the “expert”.
I have the purple stone earrings but Q really needs to let you do scarfs and a long necklace.

  18. BOB

    Good afternoon Louis,

I was wondering that since SYMS will be closing, where else can look to purchase your Men’s suits

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Bob,
I had an exclusive agreement with SYMS. I don’t have any plans to continue a mens line of clothing, but if anything should change I will certainly let everyone know…………regards, Louis

  19. louisdellolio

    Dear Judy,
I really don’t see the two styles working together. The Ninotchka jacket really calls for a classic layering piece….a turtle or mock neck sweater or a classic crew or v-neck. The chartreuse and the forest green don’t really work together…..it’s better with the espresso brown. The p.pink would work, but again I’m not sure if I really like the styles together………..regards, Louis

    1. Judi

Thanks so much, Louis. I’ve been wearing the jackets with t-necks and the classic crew and v-neck with scarves…they look great!

I had a feeling chartreuse would not work. I’ll take your advice. Perhaps I’ll get the PP t-neck instead of the sweater to wear w/ the espresso brown jacket. I feel like I’m overdue to dive in to PP!

The new sweater will look great with slacks and skirts.
      Regards
      Judi

      1. louisdellolio

That sounds like a good plan. The P.Pink is a beautiful , sophisticated pastel color. Some women feel that this kind of color can wash them out, but I think it’s just a matter of tweaking their makeup choices.
I just felt the Ninotchka jacket would “bury” the bow sweater. It is a sweater that should stand on it’s own or be worn with a jacket that will show it off….not hide it…..regards, Louis

  20. Judi

    Hi Louis-
I’m loving your sneak peeks! The sweater looks beautiful, and it will be one (or 2) of the new additions.
I’d like to ask your opinion. Do you think the chartreuse sweater would work with the green & brown Ninotchka jackets? I’m in a dilemma!
I’m one of the few who doesn’t have a perfectly pink item. I never liked pink, although I love the pink chain link blouse for summer. Do you think the PP sweater would work with the green & brown Ninotchka jackets?
    Thank you for your time-
    Judi

  21. Cathy

    Hi Louis,

Okay, new question, if you’ll indulge me when you have time: Q seems to have found some PURPLE Asymmetrical Suede Jackets in my size 3 X. It certainly is beautiful, but … would it look good with the Purple Crushed Velvet Skirt? Too much texture, different colors? From the internet I just can’t tell, and thought I might get your expert advice 🙂

    Many Many Thanks,

    Cathy in PA

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Cathy,
The purple suede jacket and the purple crushed velvet skirt look great together! It’s like a good recipe………mixing textures is, for me, what designing is about. I think the suede and the crushed velvet look superv rich and luxe together…..add the deep plum crew neck or the purple turtle nect and you will knock them out!……….regards, Louis

  22. Cathy

    Hi Louis,

Somehow, Q found and shipped to me the long awaited Brushed Cotton Jacket with Zippers, in OLIVE, and I am just so delighted! I’m sure it was a return, but well cared for (thanks to someone for that), and hanging now to let wrinkles relax. The color is so dark and rich; just perfect, not too brown, not too green … well, for me nothing can be too green … no wonder I’m still waiting for Spruce Green Suede … I LOVE greens of all kinds.

Wearing the Olive tomorrow to an office meeting tomorrow, where I can’t be too casual or too dressed up, as I’m giving warehouse tour to a vendor and sales rep. That jacket is just PERFECT. Who do we write to at Q to beg for more colors and a nice generous reorder … Navy, Crimson, IVORY, Spruce Green :))) If other “designers” (italics intentional) can have a garment in 6 colors why can’t we?

    Regards and Thanks,

    Cathy in PA

  23. Barbara in Virginia

HI, Louis! Your answer will probably break my heart, but what is the length of the new pucker fabric skirt that goes with the jacket? I’m bracing myself….

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Barbara…….they are 24 1/2….with this type of narrow bias waist band….maybe 25inches. Would hose or tights help?

      1. Barbara in Virginia

Oohh Ooooh, Oooooh! I will have to measure some of my skirts, but I think that length will work for me!!! I know that 25″ will, assuming that the skirt is relatively straight. Is there fabric in the hem or is it just stitched? No, hose/tights really don’t help as I just don’t like my knees on the inside of my leg. The part that is troublesome for me is about the middle of the knee up. I don’t mind the lower half showing, in fact with heels I prefer it about this length. I have the graphite jacket so know what the jacket will be like, except for full length sleeves. Is the skirt straight or does it A-line out? Christmas Eve Festival Eucharist here I come 🙂 !!!! As always, Barbara
PS Wore the knit riding skirt with flat boots tonight out to dinner and a movie with friends. Was able to snag the gray, so now have all three colors. Also wore the gray faux suede on Saturday out shopping. A SA at Saks asked me where I got it. I told her my personal designer :-). Ha!

        1. louisdellolio

          Hi Barbara,
I checked and there is a 1 1/2′ hem in my sample. The skirt is fully lined.
          ………regards, Louis

          1. Barbara in Virginia

Thanks so much, Louis! That will do it if I need to let it down a bit or to face it. As always, Barbara

  24. Sherry in KS

Hi Louis, would you consider designing a faux charmuse tank? Nothing fancy (no foo foo), just basic with your expertise for fitting correctly under the arms. Something that could go from season to season with the colorways of that season. Would be great under all of your jacket/blazers, and shirt-jackets. Just a thought. Thanks for everything you do for us ladies. I’m a recent Linea convert…about last spring I found your line…I love your eye for fabrics and demand for workmanship.
    Thanks again.
    Sherry

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Sherry,
I would certainly consider this kind of item…..actually I have sketched them in the past. The problem arises with fabric minimums. Tanks don’t tank much fabric……..and that is the problem of doing just a tank, but I certainly will sketch one and see how it goes……regards, Louis

      1. Sherry in KS

Oh, didn’t think about yardage minimums….how about a co-ordinating shirt as a seperate purchase. We may, or may not purchase as many shirts?…maybe that would help the minimum not be such a problem. Thanks for entertaining my thoughts.
        bye
        Sherry

  25. Beano

Dear Louis, I woke this morning thinking that Dec.9 is a long way away and how wonderful it would be to get some info about the new pieces now and lo! Your message about the tunic. Thank you. Anticipation is a good deal of the pleasure of Linea. I am hungry to know about more upcoming pieces. One on my list is the pant that will go with my fawn boyfriend jacket.

    1. louisdellolio

I think you will really like this new pant and the fabric is truly beautiful….it feels and looks expensive……regards, Louis

  26. kate

Would you believe I bought a pair of burgundy/red shoes (5-in Prada platform pumps!) just to go with the new burgundy/red pearls all of which I plan to wear with the new pucker suit. How’s that for advanced Linea planning? Any news of the jewels?

    1. louisdellolio

No news yet! I really don’t expect them to be avail before my Dec. show. I will be shocked if they are earlier than that……the shoes sound HOT! You know the pearls are Aubergine…….regards, LDO

      1. kate

        Close enough!

  27. enjay

Louis, I’m loving the silhouette of the slim pants. I own the black and olive and I’m stalking the fawn. Are any of your upcoming pants cut in this slimmer style?

    1. louisdellolio

For spring summer the pants are basically straight leg with the exception of a boot cut denim pant and a slim ankle pant for spring summer in cotton sateen…I think April…regards, Louis

  28. Carol in FL

    Hi Louis,

I ordered many things in the last show, but my favorite has to be the chenille jackets in purple and grey–perfection!

Thank you for providing a sneak peak of the tunic A220044 to come. It makes it so much easier to plan a wardrobe. I have a question regarding the “sand” color. Will it match the “light sand” of the notch collar jacket with pearl buttons reorder #A213215 that is coming in January/February?

    Kind regards,

    Carol

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Hi Carol,
The colors do not match. However, there will be a pant in the same crepe fabric as the jacket, so there will be a sand pant to match. It will also be avail. in the black and lilac……all to match the jackets………regards, Louis

      1. Carol in FL

Thank you! Mystery solved. More sneak peaks, please. I know, just a greedy little song bird here. Know that you are appreciated more than words can express.

        Carol

        1. Sherry in KS

          Ditto

  29. Mary

Is there any chance of bringing back a version of A1281, the cotton sateen jacket with grommets that came in navy blue, kelly green, red, white, etc.? How great that would look with cropped sateen pants!

It’s adorable – reminds me of the jacket with stud detailing that’s on clearance now. Maybe for Spring 2013?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Mary,
Actually, A213124, was supposed to be the new version of that jacket. The two jackets were in the same fabric and the same style. The emb. are different but they are both border designs. I guess you would like another?

      1. Mary

Yes please. In Navy Blue, if it’s not too much trouble.

  30. Carol

Louis…Your clothes are beautiful. I love the jacket A210357.

I also ordered the famous turtleneck in Magenta A72448.

I am hooked on the turtleneck….Will there be a reorder of colors….I want the Dark Mallard Blue? Thanks in advance.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Hi Carol,
I don’t know if it will be reordered. I would think so, but you never know. The Perfectly Pink and the Purple are the two new colors that are avail. now.

  31. jmarie

    Hi Louis,

I know it’s too early to reveal Spring, but you did say there would be some navy: would that include a navy cardigan, by any chance? If not, I’ll have to shop around because I need more than one! Thanks.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Hi jmarie,
There are navy sweaters, but sorry, no cardigans………..regards, Louis

  32. Cathy

    Dear Louis,

Apologies for being a “pest”, but I wondered if you had any further news about the missing sizes of the Asymmetrical Suede Jacket in Spruce Green (I have the 3X on waitlist) ? They have no news, and I’m getting worried that they cancelled the order/shipment of those extended sizes; I do hope not.

On a happier note, my Purple Crushed Velvet Skirt arrived the other day, and it is just LUSCIOUS! I like it even better than the black one, and I’m not usually a “purple girl” at all; the shade is so lovely. Haven’t figured out yet what to wear with it; went shopping and didn’t find anything yet. I do have a nice ivory Irish sweater I can wear with it for more casual, and a Pendleton ivory twinset that should work, but was hoping to find a more dressy, floaty silk top in shades of purple. I would HIGHLY recommend these skirts to anyone.

Hope you’re enjoying the sunshine after that surprise snow 🙂 We were in our vintage silver travel trailer with our 4 year old grandson, Trick or Treat camping in the snow, with pumpkins, jack o lanterns, flickering lights and spooky sounds … in the snow! He was very excited; we were less so … 🙂

    Thanks again,

    Cathy in PA

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Cathy,
You are never a pest! I’m just happy after all this time you are still interested. It is my understanding the jackets will be delivered to the QVC ware house next week. I don’t know how long it will take them to inventory it and make it avail. If I get any further info I will pass it along. Are you wait listed? If you are, as soon as they inventory it I’m sure they will ship it out to you…………regards, Louis

      1. Cathy

        Louis,

Oh, yes, I’m on waitlist ever since the Linea ladies whispered the words SPRUCE GREEN SUEDE in my ear; it’s been bouncing around in my head! I’m so pleased to hear it should arrive next week; will keep my fingers crossed

In the meantime, to keep me busy, I took your advice and went scarf shopping. Found a lovely gauzy scarf in dusty jewel tone teal and purple brushstrokes, matched it up with my purple crushed velvet skirt and a teal top … What a wonderful tip to go look for a scarf for inspiration! And today somehow, Q found and shipped me a Brushed Cotton Jacket in OLIVE … YIPPEE!!!

Can hardly wait till December; thanks again for all you do,

        Cathy in PA

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Cathy,
I am so pleased that you love the chenille jackets so much that you own all three. I honestly think you have made a wise investment. I was so happy when I found this fabric because I felt I was really able to bring something really special to my Linea customers.
The tape and the gray can really take many colors. I always suggest looking for scarves with the primary color in it, i.e. gray, and see what other colors are used in the print. Good scarf prints have wonderful and many times unusual color combinatios. I especially like the gray with pastel colors like the perfectly pink or the chambray blue Kate shirt. Pale Aqua, and pale lavender all look good. The purple looks great with the red turtleneck! The purple of the chenille is deep enough so they don’t look too bright together. I also love turquoise with purple and lots of silver and or turquoise jewelry. It really is a matter of trying things you already own. Just put the jackets on the bed and start putting different colors with it. You really can’y go wrong!….regards, Louis

This is a question to all….I’m a new Linea convert, and I notice item numbers being used to refer to items from past seasons and vintage Linea…what kind of system do you have to keep item numbers and know what they go with??? Would appreciate anyone’s help. thanks so much Sherry in Kansas

    1. Judy

The item number is on the tag of the garment. Many times, on tops and jackets, it’s on the tag in the side seam. People may keep lists of past collections, but that’s an easy way to check.

      1. tailsworth/shry in Kansas

Well duh! Had not seen that. Thanks

    2. Mary

      Hi Shry,

I’m a newbie also, since March. You’re right – between this blog and the forum on QVC, there is a lot of discussion about past ‘gems’ that aren’t available any longer. I began to record the information. I created an Excel spreadsheet that now has over 20 pages. I can sort it by year or by item number. I have item numbers (incomplete) going back to 2007. (I’m guessing on the year – I go by the earliest customer review.) If you have an item number, you can search for it on QVC’s website and if you’re lucky they’ll have a video. It helps when I find something on ebay and want to have a better idea of what it looks like – ebay’s pictures are pretty bad.

Louis, any chance you have a master list of QVC’s item numbers for this Linea nerd? I’ll add them to my spreadsheet and watch all the videos and live happily ever after. 🙂

Shry, I’m happy to share it, I just don’t know how to get it to you.

      1. tailsworth/shry in Kansas

        Me either, thanks anyway.

  34. Judy

    Hi, Louis!

I was just watching a news program and saw a US Congresswoman from Wisconsin wearing your houndstooth jacket (with the sweater sleeves and the patent trim) on the floor of the House of Representatives! I have that same one. 🙂

    1. louisdellolio

WOW……I wish I had seen that. A Linea Congress Lady from Wisconsin!

      1. Judy

I don’t see the video posted, but I’ll check back later and post the link for you if they do put it on their site.

            1. Carol

I saw that, too Her name is Gwen Moore. I have that jacket so I recognized it immediately!

    Dear Louis,

It’s still pebble crepe weather here in So Cal, but I’m using the tops with sleeves. I enjoy wearing the long pants with the big shirt, but would like a top to wear under the big shirt so I can remove the shirt if gets too warm. A round neck, sleeveless hip-grasing top–shaped similarly to the jumpsuit) would be great. I’d like it in the same colors as the full length pants that I have (black, white, tan, aqua)–it’s all about me, you know. I’m wearing the black pants today with the black ruched neck tank from the two-fer set and the azure big shirt. It’s fine when I have the shirt on, but I would like a matched fabric top for when I want to take off the shirt.

Anything like that coming down the pike for spring/summer?

    A girl can dream!

Many thanks for the pants and big shirt, even if I don’t get the dream top,
    crdlb

    1. louisdellolio

Sorry nothing down the pike like that, but the boat neck pebble crepe tunic has been reordered in all colors plus the aquamarine that matches the pants and navy which will look great with the white pants…Truth be told, I did sketch a matching tank to go under the shirt but they went with the crinkle georgette cap sleeve peasant top that does look good under the shirt/jacket……….regards, Louis

      1. Carol

Glad to have two new colors of the tunic! I love that top. I have the aqua and the whit pants, so it’s all good. I think I’m going to like the aqua top with the coffee bean crops, too. The pebble crepe shows no sign of wearing out, so I’d be happy to see that tank show up in 2013!

        crdlb

      2. Mary

Navy Blue! Music to my ears. A navy tunic with my pebble crepe white pants will be my uniform. With a black tunic for variety 🙂

        1. louisdellolio

I just remember someone saying, “please do the tunic in navy”…..it kept ringing in my ears….or was that music?

          1. Judi

I’m one of your major navy fans! I wish the t-neck and v-neck came in navy 🙁
I can always hope! You mentioned you will use navy next Spring, I’ll be buying…and definitely the tunic!
I was wondering, will the new sand go well with any of the gray tops?

            1. louisdellolio

              Dear Judi,
Which gray tops are you referring too? The sand is a very neutral shade and will go with many things. The sand and the silver gray short sleeve , crew neck sweater or the steel gray whisper knit turtle neck will look very chic together. It will even look good with the gray chenille jacket………..regards, Louis

            2. Judi

Perfect! I own the short sleeve gray, the steel gray t-neck and the gray chenille jacket. I was hoping the sand wasn’t too yellow based.
Thanks for taking time to answer.
              Always-
              Judi

  36. Shari

    Hi Louis,
I am just wondering if the sweater in the Cloud blue (A210359) would go with the
light Aqua blouse (A213624)? Or are they totally different color families?
I just ordered both of the blouses in the Frosted Lilac and the Light Aqua.
I thought the lilac one would look pretty under the Iris sweater (I have your frosted lilac tank top and wore them together–pretty.
I was going to order the other sweater in the Cloud Blue, but I thought I’d check with you first to see what you thought.

    1. louisdellolio

The colors are totally different and really don’t work together. I’m not to sure the two styles will even work together. I think they may fight each other……let me know how they work out…regards, Louis

        1. louisdellolio

Probably not until the end of Nov or maybe not until my show on Dec.9th…..who knows?

  38. Inna

    Dear Louis!
I would like to express my gratitude for everything you do for your loyal fans.
My goodies arrived just before my birthday (13 items) and I’m totally speechless.Every item is exquisite and fits as if just made for me (lurex fabric is luxurious, the chenille jackets in purple and gray is to die for, v-neck tunics are very beautiful). My husband, my mom, and my 12 year old son commented on how nice I looked in the asymmetrical suede jacket in purple. My only regret is that this jacket A210358 wasn’t reordered in black (I want it!!!). I hope you will continue design for many years to come.

Best regards, …. from one of your loyal fans.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Inna,
I am very happy you are pleased with the clothes. I too am sorry the black was not reordered because I loved the black! I don’t know why??? Don’t worry, I plan to be around for a while…….regards, Louis

  39. nikki

    Hello Louis,
I just rec’t the crushed velvet jacket/tunic in purple. It is beautiful. I love the weight of the fabric and I love the color ( I love this deep shape of purple, i never really tried purple and this looks beautiful on me, I have more black than i need). I know there is crew neck in violet and deep plum ( a3825). Which shade looks better with the velvet tunic. ALso, the charmuse blouse in purple, would that shade coordinate with the jacket? thankyou once again

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear nikki,
The purple is a great color! It is very deep and rich and the highlights are a beautiful shade of purple. Both the violet and the deep plum work with the purple velvet. I would definitely suggest the deep plum which I did to go with the velvet. I also did the purple turtle neck to go with the velvet and the purple chenille jacket………..enjoy, Louis

  40. Cathy

    Hi Louis,

Some of your ladies and I were talking this evening, while browsing through a certain fashion catalog we all go this week. If we might presume to make a suggestion for next year: Black and Cream Houndstooth Check Jacket; not too big of a check but not too small; with a black velvet back collar and maybe pocket welt or flap trim and buttons; similar in body shape to the Brushed Cotton Jacket, with sleeves that can be turned back like that one; in a 3 season cotton or brushed cotton or blend.

Yes, we’ll pay more for the quality fabric if necessary.

Just an idea … hope you don’t mind.

    Cathy in PA

      1. Cathy

        Hi Louis,

One of the ladies suggested the jacket be along the lines of the Asymmetrical Suede Jacket; wouldn’t that be divine, and with skirts to match 🙂

We look forward to whatever you dream up next; sure it will be wonderful!

        Cathy in PA

  41. Birdie

    Dear Louis,

I need to let you know that your designs bring me a lot of pleasure. Thank you! I’ve become a Linea devotee this year, and plan on expanding my collection. Please keep doing what you’re doing and don’t worry about prices; I think I’m not the only one who values quality over quantity.
Can you give us a heads-up for S/S 12? What are your major colors & silhouettes?

My best to Jac & the girls,
    Birdie

    1. louisdellolio

It’s way too early early to let that cat of the bag. I will say each month is different………..regards, Louis

  42. Carol

I see that QVC put the pebble crepe crop pants on clearance. Does this mean we are not getting any reorders of those pants which are everybody’s absolute favorites? Some of us don’t wear shorts anymore.

    Thanks!
    crdlb

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Carol,
QVC will not be bring the pebble crepe crop pant back. I really tried to change their minds but to no avail…..the returns were just too high…….regards, Louis

      1. Carol

Those were size exchanges. They pants were sized larger than people expected. That’s on the Q, not you. Those pants flew out out the door and there were never more than a few pair in stock after that. Everything that was returned was purchased by someone else. They need to find a way to identfy size exchanges (they get that info on the return slips) and not count those as returns. Now that everyone knows what size to order next time, there won’t be any to order. It’s absurd!

        Just saying!

        crdlb

        1. Barbara in Virginia

I completely agree with Carol. QVC is leaving money on the table with this ridiculous policy! HSN will not even charge shipping for size exchanges.

  43. MH-MN

I am thrilled with everything I received from the October shows. From essentials like the mock neck sweaters, v-neck tunic and wool blend cardigan to evening glamor pieces, the cut, fabrics and quality are fabulous! Aubergine and cassis are my new favorite colors. I posted rave reviews for everything.

I do have questions. You told us about the new side zip pant, A220049, and I would like to know about the matching stand collar tunic with pockets, A220044. Are the pants made in your gabardine (like the fly-front pants)? What fabric did you choose for the tunics and what is the length? Is the tunic sized to wear over a turtleneck or narrower, to wear on its own? I can hardly wait for December 9 to get my 26-inch knit skirts and so many other goodies! That hour will fly!

Thank you again for all that you do to make us look and feel beautiful!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear MH-MN,
The new tunic is similar to the pebble crepe tunic from this passed summer that so many of you loved. The fabric of the new one, including the matching pant is brand new, but it is most similar to the fabric of the riding jacket and pant. It has a slight, VERY FINE twill, and has a wonderful drape. It really does remind me of a fine Italian gabardine. The top is 27 inches long and has the same pocket detail as last summer’s tunic. The sleeve is more of a bracelet sleeve length, so it is longer than the summer tunic. For my petite customers it will probably be full length. For the rest of you, if you wear a turtle neck under it the bottom of the sleeve will show. You should order true to size because it has a set in sleeve and was meant to be worn with nothing under it or layered with a turtleneck or the classic “Kate” shirt. The neckline is very special. Picture a “U” neckline, not too deep. Then picture a bias fold over band attached to the “U”. When the band is folded over it is aprox. 2 1/4 inches wide. The collar splits in the center back so it lays flat. The effect is sort of like a very controlled cowl neck without all the drapes. It really looks great with the matching pant but I also like it VERY much as a separate top over jeans, pencil skirts, and long slim skirts. As I said before, I love it worn with nothing under it or layered with a shirt or turtleneck. It also looks great belted………….regards, Louis

      1. MH-MN

I just knew that this was going to be really great! Thanks for the advance info. 🙂

Merlot is on my list 🙂

  44. Melanie

Dear Louis, Several years ago I purchased A92303, your beautiful Stretch PolySatin Lined Coat in Taupe. I wore the coat overseas last Xmas thru Paris to Cairo, Egypt. It was the perfect weight and looked so stylish. The only problem was I lost 3 of the beautiful buttons either in the plane or the Paris airport. I was hoping you could suggest where I could perhaps by some miracle get replacement buttons or suggest a button style that would be as beautiful as the original buttons, that I could use to replace the buttons. The taupe color is unusual and it works with my silver grey hair, buttons remind me of smoky topaz both in color and cut. It is time for me to wear the coat again, so if you could please help me, I would be most appreciative. I love your designs, everything is so lady like and I guess we are both from the same era – Jacque is always so lovely. Thank you.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Melanie,
That is a tough one.I really don’t know where you could fine that button and it’s been to long to ask my manufacturer if they even have the sample to cut the buttons off of their sample. I’m afraid you will have to replace all of them.
      ……………..regards, Louis

      1. Melanie

        Dear Louis,

Thank you so very much for your quick reply. I was afaid of that and have been looking on line – so far, not much luck. Any ideas of what color button to go with the unusual shade of taupe, if you remember the color. I can’t seem to find anything – gold is to bright, and bronze doesn’t seem exactly right either, if you have any ideas, I would be most appreciative.
        Thank you,
        Melanie

        1. MH-MN

Melanie, May I suggest a couple of possibilities? If you still have the double set of buttons on the cuffs of your coat, perhaps you could remove one set and get two matching buttons. Then if your coat came with one extra button that you still have, you would be back in business.

If that isn’t a solution, you might contact “The Button Lady” (Evelyn Gibbons) at Gibbons Antiques, 5135 Plymouth Rd Ann Arbor, MI 48105 (Dixboro)(734) 663-2277. She has an awe-inspiring collection of buttons and tremendous knowledge of the subject. I’m sure that she could find you just the right ones, if you provide her photos of the garment and one of the buttons that you are trying to replace.

        2. louisdellolio

You may want to try a “Horn” button. That is a button made out of actual horn and sometimes they come in a taupe color. Otherwise I think MH-MN had a great suggest of contacting the “Button Lady” If you were i9n NY there are many places that sell buttons……regards, Louis

    2. Mary

That coat is lovely. I love the quilted lining.

  45. Susan (aka Carlytwila)

    Hello Louis!
I am really enjoying all my new clothing from your October show – fantastic! I have a question for you…. A92305 in Black is a beautiful jacket and I recently purchased one of the last ones available. I tried to watch the video for this jacket, but it appears to be broken. For a slightly dressy dinner date, what jewelry would you recommend with this? I’m struggling. Perhaps just earrings? Or do you think it could take your pearl necklaces in layers? How did you originally show it?

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Susan,
If you are planing to wear the jacket closed a diamond stud or drop earring, a black jet earring or a pearl earring like my pearl drop on QVC all would look good. I don’t really think you need necklaces, but depending on the earring you could do long jet necklaces. If you wear it open with an ivory cami the pearls would look great…..either the pearl/black and gold combinations or the all ivory. Again the jacket makes a strong statement on it’s own so you really only need an earring and maybe a bracelet…….let me know what you decide. Are you wearing pants or a skirt?…………..regards, Louis

      1. Susan (aka Carlytwila)

Louis – thanks for the quick reply! I think I’ll try it open b/c I have a black bead belt I could put a rhinestone buckle on with rhinestone earrings!! I even have black rhinestone buckle shoe…I’ll make sure it’s not too much. Will wear black satin pants with it!! Sound good?

  46. Cathy

    Dear Louis,

Reporting back 🙂 After falling in love with my Antique Gold Lurex top, I went back for the matching skirt; like that too, so I took a bigger leap of faith, and ordered the Black Crushed Velvet Skirt. UPS dropped it off 15 minutes ago; my husband says “That’s a KEEPER”, and he really doesn’t care much about clothes … I just went back and ordered in the Purple color as well, even though I’m not usually a purple girl; the color is so nice and dark and rich. The Black skirt fits absolutely perfect. I will of course have to shorten both the Lurex one and the Velvet one, as I’m only 5’2″ high, but well worth it. Think I’ll have both shortened at the waist so as not to ruin the swirly sweep of the skirts :)))))) Don’t know how you make garments that look so great on the willowy and lovely Jaq, and still manage to be complimentary to my short round figure, but I am extremely grateful. Thanks; I’m off to leave feedback on the website too 🙂

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Cathy,
It is so nice to hear how everything is working out for you and the fact that your husband likes it is a major plus! What are you planning on wearing the purple skirt with? The purple turtle neck, the deep plum short sleeve crew neck and the frosted lilac charmeuse shirt all look great with the skirt……regards, Louis

      1. Cathy

        Dear Louis,

Well, I hadn’t gotten so far as to think about what to wear the Purple skirt with yet, although I’m going to aim for a more casual look so I can get more wear out of that one (my rational for spending too much on clothes … works for jewelry too …) I do have a pretty ivory Pendleton cardigan and matching shell that come to mind, and haven’t been worn yet; also a couple of silk floral cardigans that have little touches of purple in; all were to wear on our Norwegian cruise that got cancelled in September when the engine room on the ship exploded. guess I’ll have to play dress-up when the skirt comes! The deep plum color is enticing though … Thanks again ever so much for the lovely garments, and the attention to detail and to questions; we are very lucky!

  47. Nancy

Louis, I have a burning question Does the new purple whisper knit turtleneck which just came available recently – color match or color co-ordinate with the purple boho skirt?

    1. louisdellolio

Hi Nancy, It is not a match, as the whisper knit is a deeper color but they look great together as well as the purple crushed velvet skirt……regards, Louis

      1. Nancy

Thank you Louis! As long as it co-ordinates with the boho, I’m a very happy camper. I’m waiting to receive my black crushed velvet skirt to see if it’s too long for me – or if I need to take it up. If it works for me ~ I think I’ll be seeing the purple crushed velvet in my future too 🙂

  48. jmarie

    Hi Louis,
I have “a bit” of an odd question. I adore the navy ribbed cardigan and tank from the Spring. It’s a cotton/rayon blend. The problem is, I got caught in a typhoon while wearing it–don’t ask, LOL! As it got soaking wet, it stretched quite a bit. I’ve since washed it, and laid flat to dry. The tank seems to have recovered, but the cardigan, while better when I first put it on, continues to “grow” throughout the day. The sleeves get longer by 2 roll-ups, and the shoulders drop, making it feel very awkward.

Any idea what I can do to restore it to its original magnificence?

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear jmarie,
You have me stumped. I don’t know why the sweater or I should say the yarn is behaving that way since the sweater is washable. If you know how to sew or have a good tailor I would suggest putting a tape on the inside shoulder seam at the measurement you want it to stay at. This will at least prevent the shoulder from stretching out. Maybe the ladies have other suggestions?……….regards, Louis

      1. Carol

I would put it in the dryer and get it to shrink up as much as I could, then reblock with a steam iron to the size you want it to be. Maybe it wouldn’t grow as much if it was reblocked? And I like the idea of adding seam tape to the shoulders. I got caught in a typhoon once, too. I knew it was coming, but nobody told me it was the same thing as a hurricane. I guess I got confused between typhoon and monsoon. So I did have an umbrella! LOL

      2. jmarie

Thanks, Louis. The tape is a good idea, and I should be able to do that myself. My concern about trying the dryer is that I don’t know that the cotton and rayon yarns would shrink at the same rate? Maybe I’d end up with a “mixed crazy rib” instead of an “every needle rib”!

        1. louisdellolio

I really don’t think it would shrink like that, but you do have a point. You never know if the two yarns will react the same way?

  49. Bernadine

I can’t find my post asking if the T-neck whisper knit in purple would be a good match for the violet faux suede skirt that will be offered in Dec. For some reason I can’t seem to find any earlier posts in the “ask Louis” section.
    Thanks again

    1. louisdellolio

Hi, I don’t know why they are disappearing? I posted an answer to day. The turtleneck and skirt are two different colors but they go nicely together. The skirt is deeper and darker than the turtle neck which is lighter and brighter. They both look great with the chenille blazer in purple……regards, Louis

  50. Susan

Louis, WE WANT MORE!! The long sleeve v-neck sweater is to die for!! (A217629). Please make more and in more colors. I love it!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks

      1. Sandi

(I’m a different Sandi) Yes, please. I know it’s up to the Q buyers what they pick up again, but the V neck whisper knit is my favorite. Would you consider doing the cotton blend shell (short sleeve sweater) in whisper knit, all colors? That would be amazing. Maybe in a scoop neck instead of the jewel neck, with sleeves a bit longer to cover more of the upper arm. Thank you for hearing our requests, you are so appreciated.

        1. louisdellolio

          Hi different Sandi,
I actually have sketched and had a sample made of the whisper knit short sleeve crew neck but they passed it due to the existing cotton/rayon blend. I will try again because it was beautiful. As for the elbow sleeve scoop neck…..I did have one in navy, red and other colors I can’t remember. I would love to bring it back if I can……regards, Louis

          1. LauraL

            Hi

How about a V-neck short sleeve whisper knit top?

            1. louisdellolio

Already sketched……I think I have every conceivable “classic” sweater sketched for the buyers to chose from….LOL…If you have more ideas let me know…..I may have missed one!……regards, Louis

  51. Bernadine

Received your S/S Mock neck sweaters and I am in love!! Any chance on getting them in more colors??
The purple and PP T-necks are on their way to my house and I was wondering if the purple would go with the violet faux suede skirt you have coming in Dec.
Thanks again for all your beautiful clothes!!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Bernadine,
If the S/S Mock neck sweater gets reordered it wouldn’t be avail until next year.I never know until the decision is made whether it will be a reordered or not if “they” want a new color. If they do, it’s usually only one new color requested.
As for the new purple turtleneck and the new violet suede faux wrap skirt coming in Dec…….I like them together. The skirt, which is actually very deep and darker than the faux suede skirt from March, works with the T.N. which is lighter and brighter. The purple chenille jacket actually looks perfect with both of them…..regards, Louis

  52. Jane Powers

I purchased your Suede Jacket with Leather Trim (A86690) in “Eggplant” with bronze trim and want to pair it with one of your Whisper Knit turtlenecks (A72448) in either Magenta” or “Aubergine”; which is best for a blonde?

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Jane,
If I had to chose between those I would pick the Aubergine. The magenta is just too strong for the color of the suede. However, what I think really looks the best is the cassis. The pucker top with the removable cowl or the new button front crew neck cardigan work well, and of course any of the cassis bottoms look great too. Another alternative would be the espresso silk /cashmere turtleneck with an espresso bottom. The brown and the bronze leather look great together.
All of these colors look great on blonds!………regards, Louis

      1. Jane Powers

Thank you sir. Hope you can one day sell directly from your web site and allow your talent free rein. You are literally the best American designer and the equal to Chanel. Thank you for making your fine work so widely available. Cannot wait for the new jewelry for the Holidays.

  53. G

    Hi,

I have noticed that the new pant for the December 9 show is referred to as a contour waist, side zip pant in your list but is also referred to as a pull on pant in some of your comments. Is A 220049 side zip or pull on or are there 2 diffent pants coming in December? I would love a little description of the band cowl tunic and this pant. Your clothes are beautiful and even if the costs must go up, we cannot get this designer quality for twice the price, so we are all still with you.

    Thanks,
    G

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear G
I don’t know why I refered to it as a pull-on pant? It is a “clean” contour waist side zip pant. The shaped waist band is aprox. 2 inches wide and the leg opening at the bottom is aprox. 9 inches. I hope this clears everything up.
      …………regards, Louis

  54. Nomy

Thank you Louis for your prompt replys, I got up at 4A.M. to order the A218571 suede jackets in Aubergine and black so I would be sure to get those jackets. Would you believe they sent the black one and not the aubergine. I called to find out what happened and the customer service person said I had sent it back. I never received it and now I am wait listed for a 2X. I hope there will be more of these jackets. Any ideas? I love your designs and clothes so much I am willing to order sight unseen as I know they will be wonderful.

    Dear Louis,
I’ve been in business for many years and also have to deal with the rising costs of raw materials. I would like to share some ideas with you. Please email me.

Louis….Do you know if the “Short Sleeve Ribbed Shell” Item# A3825 is going to be reordered? If so, will you be adding new colors to your selection? I want you to know that I am waiting anxiously for your long knit skirt that’s coming in December. I plan to purchase all 3 colors. Although I recently retired from the corporate workplace I still love to look stylish and put together. Thank you again for all of your hard work and dedication to your clothing line.

      Dear Clark55,
I do not know at this point in time what will be reordered for next fall. I would think that this sweater has a good chance…..but you never know and you never know what old colors will be selected and if they want a new color. Wish I could give you a better answer…….regards, Louis

    Hi Louis

First my mother, Dorothy, says hello. I ordered her your Spruce Green animal print jacket. She received it today and just loves it. Since mom is a seamstress, she first turned it inside out and gave it a good once over. You passed!!! She couldn’t believe the details like the nice folder over of the lining at the bottom of the jacket and loved the brushed cotton. She now wants another color. My mom is more of a St. John shopper so she can’t believe the deal. I told her that some on QVC were complaining about prices being a little too high and she was shocked. She wanted me to convey that you can’t please everyone. Some people just like Walmart clothes and will buy quanity over quality everytime. You have made another customer for life. I’m still waiting on my boxes to arrive from the show.

Keep up the great work because Quality will win in the end.

    Stephanie

      Dear Stephanie,
First say Hi to your mom!
My mother was a seamstress/model too. She worked in NYC in the 30’s for a high end suit and dress firm. When customers came in she modeled the clothes….double duty. They didn’t book models to show the lines like they do today. If there was a pretty girl that worked for them and fit into the clothes, she was hired for some extra money. My mother said she always met very interesting people, but she too knew what a good garment should look like. Let’s face it, in those days everything was held to a higher standard no matter what the price of the garment. Appliances lasted for 20 years….today they are made to last 5. It is a Walmart mentality, and that isn’t meant to criticize anyone or to bash Walmart….that’s just the reality of today. I am very pleased your mother likes the quality of the garment. We do try very hard to keep the standards up and we work with very few factories because of that.
Again best regards to you and your mother…..Louis

        Hi Louis-
I enjoy reading of your memories of the garment district. My very favorite aunt told me of her days in the late 30’s when she was a bookkeeper for a coat firm but also did double duty modeling! She worked there for her entire career but stopped modeling in the 50’s. One day in the 60’s when I was visiting her at her workplace, I was asked by the owner to model some coats for out of town buyers. The models were out to lunch and I fit the bill…I was tall and geeky skinny (couldn’t gain a pound if I tried!).
It was scary for a young teenage girl from Brooklyn but I was thrilled! I showed off many coats and I understood they made good sales. I got “paid” by picking out several coats. To me it was much better than cash!
I just read the description of the new faux de chine blouse you are bringing. It sounds perfect for the chenille blazers….thank you!
        Have a great weekend-
        Judi

Hi again, i just read your post about prices. Not to worry, your fans will support you in these hard times. Tough times dont last tough people do. As for me, i will give up a meal to have your designs. Just keep doing what you do and let us worry about how to pay for it. Your Linea Ladies will make it happen.

Hi Louis, i am enjoying everything from the last show. I have a question about A92309 zebra print in aqua and chartreuse. Will any of the new colors match the chartreuse lining? Thanks for all you do for us. voodoo

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi voodoo,
I do not have anything coming in that color. It is a beautiful color, but I wonder how many women would actually wear it as a separate garment? I loved it as an accent lining. If it is any indication…..that color combo was the last to sell. The other two colors were more commercial, but actually the peacock and chartreuse was my personal favorite…..isn’t that always the case…..the more unusual and risky the smaller the audience……..regards, Louis

  60. Nomy

Sorry Louis I should have given you the number on the spruce green suede jacket. It is A210358. I also have a sweater, A210367 in the same green color wait listed. The good news is the perfectly pink turtleneck is back in stock and my wait listed pink is on it’s way. Love the turtlenecks!

  61. Nomy

Louis could you tell me why the sleeves are much longer in a size XL than in a 1X? I have always wondered about this and I certainly need the extra lenght but can’t always fit into a XL. The shoulders in the Chenille jacket were a little on the large side. I have to return one of the jackets as it was way too big in the shoulders. Also I wait listed the beautiful green suede jacket and wondered what the hold up is and will I be able to get one. I have it in the beautiful purple and I must say that color is outstanding. The suede is so soft and rich. I always get compliments when I wear this jacket. You make the best clasic clothes. I just love classic womens sportswear. Thank you for designing the clothes we want to wear.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Nomy,
I have no idea why the sleeves are longer on the XL than the 1X. The measurements of fully fashioned garments are very stable….meaning the actual sleeve comes off the machine as a sleeve and there are many sleeves knitted on the machines at one time. It’s a computer program…..so every sleeve of every garment of every size is exactly the same…..coming off the machine. Then they are linked together. Nothing is cut from a pattern and sewn so there shouldn’t be any difference from one garment to the other. The only possible way one size can be different from the other is in the washing and pressing of the garments. It is quite possible that one sweater’s sleeve is longer than the other from the finishing process. It is up to the person doing it and how careful they are to maintain the measurements. You might want to try and steam the sleeves to shrink the length.
Sorry about the shoulder measurement being different on the blazer. Again, there is a standard measurement…..it’s up to the sewing operator to follow and check each garment while sewing……these things do happen, even on garments that are very expensive.
As far as the spruce green jackets not being avail. I was told there were two shipments from the factory. There was some confusion with the information given to the factory about the delivery date…..so the sizes that arrived at QVC were shipped to the customers instead of waiting for the entire shipment to arrive. The others will arrive soon, and will be shipped out…..they are coming…..don’t ask me when….nobody tells me anything LOL!I am glad you appreciate all of the extra time we take in making sure the suede skins are finished properly before we cut and sew them. Like everything else, quality shows……regards, Louis

      1. Nomy

I am talking about the click here for sizing presented with each garment. The jackets etc. are all inches longer in the sleeves in XL but not in a 1X ,2X or 3X. I thought it might have something to do with the Plus Sizes. or as soon as you move from straight sizes the cuts are very different. I have been a sewer since I was 12 years old and used Vogue patterns. Always had to alter the patterns to fit but I had fun making some wonderful clothes. Way back when the Cocktail dresses and evening gowns all had inner dresses with boning and interfacing and linings but when they were finished they were pretty spectacular. Way back when I could buy beautiful fabrics that were inspiring and beautiful silks and woolens and fine cottons. The local fabric stores in the West Chester are do not carry quality fabrics and most have gone out of business. I used to go into Philadelphia to get my fabrics trims and buttons. I don’t think most people realize what quality buttons cost. I have quite a collection as I remove them to use on another garment. Now adays it is cheaper to buy ready made then to make it your self. I don’t know how you keep your prices so low. I used to tell people it can take 30 hours to make a well tailored jacket. Now if you charge by the hour and add the cost of the fabric and the pattern You could buy a half dozen ready made. Now I just make draperies, duvets and slip covers for my own home. By the way have you watched Project Runway? There is one girl on that just learned how to sew and as far as I can see she is not doing to well. She is in the final show and I can,t wait to see if she can pull it off. She does choose some pretty neat prints in pretty colors. I was thinking a suede vest could be nice to go with your riding skirts. I have made them out of real suede, ulta suede and ultra leather and had good results. No sleeves to have to fit and no worry on the length and they should fit a lot of different shapes. I really love the way you style the models and get great ideas from you. I have a very old Anne Klein gabardine coat that is very long and wraps with a tie belt. I still wear it and I bet you designed it. Very classic and still stylish. Thank you again Louis. Nomy

Louis, my tower of goodies arrived yesterday and I cannot believe how wonderful every item is and how it fits as if just made for me! Larger ladies should not be afraid to order the lurex top and skirt- it is so flattering and rich. The new waist-whittler in wool blend, the tunics, v-necks, everything…so beautiful. And my favorites – the aubergine and black suede/knit jackets! Absolutely fabulous! My husband even commented on how nice I looked in my new red t-neck! The whisper knit is so soft and comfy. Can’t wait to get the new jewelry and to see the Dec. show. Don’t know how they’ll show all the new items in one show, but it certainly will be fun! Enjoy these precious autumn days!

      Dear Yvonne,
it’s always a pleasure hearing from you. I am glad you are happy with your new goodies and I am doubly happy your hubby is happy!…..regards, Louis

Louis..Louis…Louis…I am totally speechless. Your clothing line is exquisite. For the past couple of years I’ve been ordering items from each of your shows. Just last month I ordered 18 pieces. From your October show I ordered 17 pieces and each and every one of them are so beautiful, classic and fit like they were tailor made especially for me. Your line is like potato chips…I can’t stop at one. I have to agree with the other ladies that there is not another designer on QVC that can come close to the quality and style of your clothing line. What I love about you is that you are not a follower of the latest trend….You are the trend setter. You understand that women of all ages still like to look fresh but classy, whether we’re wearing tights and a sweater or any of your dressier pieces of clothing. I hope that you continue on QVC for a very long time. I will always be one of your loyal fans.

    Dear Mr. Dell’Olio,
I just received my shipment of 14 of the 16 pieces that I ordered during your last QVC show. I have to say that I feel guilty, like I have stolen something! For example, the quality of the chenille jackets for the price I paid, compared to the $400 jackets from Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales is remarkable. I honestly do not know how you produce such fabulous clothing for the price. The fit is perfectly constructed and tailored, and the fabric is luxurious. I would bet that your Linea Ladies will understand if you must raise your prices in order to continue to provide the best of quality in your designs. I intend to always be loyal to your line! I love the wrap charmeuse blouses…bought the purple and gray…very flattering! The crushed velvet skirts hang and flow beautifully…bought the purple and black…also bought the purple and black tunics to wear with black velvet pants. The black sequin top will go with so many things I have and fits beautifully! if the black with silver sequins if available in my size, I will probably order another. It’s perfect! I can’t wait to see the faux suede wrap skirt in December…and of course the jewelry. Anyway, I bought lots of new sweaters, which are all beautiful. I am now ready for the cold weather and the holidays! Thank you so much for the gorgeous fashions and for caring about your ladies

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Bobbie…..WHAT A HAUL…..Christmas in October! I couldn’t be happier that everything met with your expectations!! I am very happy you loved the chenille as much as I did. I think, that after more years in this business than I want to count…..the one thing I do know is fabric! I have worked with the best all over the world….true creative geniuses and I have learned from these extraordinary men and women. When I find a fabric that not only has the look but also has the quality of the chenille…..I do the happy dance. I know I will be bring all of you something wonderful. It is always very gratifying when what I have brought to you is validated. For those that don’t get it…so be it…..it’s always a matter of preference. You are so right when you say this is better than jackets for $400. An aside……I used to work with a fabulous fabric mill outside of Como, Italy. A wonderful woman owned it and she was also the creative director…..didn’t speak a word of English. Armani was one of her biggest accounts. I worked with her for years and somehow we managed to create incredible fabrics even though we hardly spoke to one another. The purpose of the story is…..she made fabrics very similar to this chenille with the same fabric content. Unfortunately, the factory came upon hard time like many factories in Italy and she decided to retire……very comfortably I might add, but when a creative light like that….goes out….it is a great loss to us all. Enjoy, Enjoy!……regards, Louis

Dear Louis: I just wanted to let you know that Martha Stewart is wearing a blouse on the cover of Martha Stewart Living’s Thanksgiving issue that is very similar in style, but not nearly as nice as, your charmeuse stand collar shirt. I adore your version. I have it in Olive and Ivory. Once I watched the video and saw the model wearing the Black with ivory pants, I knew that another one will find its way to me. The olive is stunning! The women I work with went crazy when I wore it to work the other day. Nobody could believe that it wasn’t silk.

Thank you so much. I love the way I look.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Mary,
All I can say is…..I am pleased when you are pleased. My mission is to make as many women happy as I possible can. It may not be brain surgery but if you can go out of your house each day feeling good about yourself…..my mission is completed…..regards, Louis
