    Hi Louis,
Love the new lace jacket. Is the knit like the Jackard ones?
Also is the blue denim friendly?
    Thanks again

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Very similar to the jacquard ones….I tried it with Jac’s jeans and it looked good.

  2. Happy Lady

HI Louis, I hate to inform you but I ordered 6 of the 2 row bead necklace and 4 of them arrived broken. When I opened the tissues they were wrapped in, the beads were loose in the tissue. All 4 broke on the bottom row where the large beads are located. The filament string was not attached at one end of the clasp. All 4 broke on the same bottom row and the same location where the filament string should have been attached.
Having to sadly report this; I would like to comment these necklaces, in all 4 colors, are gorgeous and I will reorder and hopefully have better luck.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

This is distressing news! and I am sorry you have to go through this. I am glad you are willing to reorder them, and the shipping cost should be picked up by QVC. I have since changed manufactures for spring 2015, and hopefully these manufacturing problems will come to an end. It always seems to be the same problem of the strings detaching. I will forward you message to the Linea Jewelry rep. who is separate from the manufacturer.

Louis you are being ever to evasive with your olive fashions to come. I have recently received the olive TN and am on waitlist for the animal jacquard jacket. Will I be able to bring those along with me, as well as the matching shawl and olive WK dress when I am in Paris is mid November? Along with any other olive goodies you have up your sleeve. I want to make the Parisienne women oh so jealous of this LDO Americain fashionista. What do you say, Louis?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear BCM…..I am pretty sure the dress with your sure will be ready in sept. I don’t know when the olive tortoise jacquard knit jacket will be released, but mid Nov. should be fine…there will be more to chose from in olive….a babu loud WK tunic and olive slim leg trousers in the rayon/poly/span.

      1. BCM

Merci Beaucoup Monsieur Louis. It sounds promising!

  4. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

This page is getting long and I’ll bet your “webbie” is going to poof it soon, but I wanted you to know what happened with my unworkable zippers on my 2 new zip front cardigans. I ordered a product called “Zipper-Ease Pencil Type Zipper Wax Lubricant” from a company through Amazon. Today I laid the cardigan out on the ironing board zipped up with a heavy brown paper bag directly under the zipper – just in case. First I carefully pinned ALL WK fabric next to the zipper back and away from the zipper out of the way – both inside fabric AND outside fabric. With the teeth closed I rubbed this “pencil” along the teeth at the bottom of the zipper only up the zipper about 4 inches – my problem area. I had read in a review on Amazon that the zipper might require a little heat after application from your hairdryer to get the “pencil” material to melt in fully over the zipper teeth. I hit the zipper both sides for about 15 seconds a side with the hot air. Then I opened the zipper and did another few seconds with the hair blower on the open teeth. Holy Smokes, the zipper starts and glides smoothly like a Champ now! Every single time. I’m NOT going to recommend the hair blower part, since the company just tells you to rub the pencil “lightly up and down the zipper teeth.” and that it “will not stain or soil fabrics” – because the zipper tape on the nutmeg definitely turned a little darker from “bleeding” into the tape after I put the heat to it. But this is not a problem for me in any way since the WK placket, which I had carefully – this is important – pinned away both inside and outside the sweater before applying to keep anything off from the whisper knit – completely hides the zipper tape whether the sweater is worn open or worn zipped up. In future I will try skipping the hair blower part…. PHEW!!!! I’m so happy to have solved this problem! And boy, this “pencil” is a product, like other reviews at Amazon noted, that I do not want my household to be without. So now my two cardigans are not only gorgeous and chic …. but also problem free! 🙂

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

What a find! Glad it worked out….spread the word about this supper fixer!

      1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Posted on it at the Linea blog site at QVC this morning. Definitely singing it’s praises. And SO happy with all the uses I plan to put my two new cardigans to 🙂

    2. Sherry

Thanks Nancy, I just purchased one to use on my Walnut Suede Jacket from last year…that zipper is a pain to zip…hope it works as well for me.

  5. Kate

I’m going to stamp my little foot and whine. You are NOT expected to reply.

It’s simply unfair that Lisa’s GILI collection can feature $150.00 wool blend blazers and Issac’s collection can have $200.00 cashmere shawls but neither option is available in Linea.

    I’m done.

    1. 2E

Stamping my little foot too, Kate! Simply unfair.

    2. Sherry

I think you ladies should be stamping your foot over at the Q Forum if you want it to be heard by someone that can do something about it…Just saying…

    3. Karen in WA

OK, but also, look at it this way, I received my Pendleton Catalog one of my favorites, and they have pea coats like Louis’ and they are over $250.00. I would never in all my life have had such lovely things if I had not found Linea

  6. Tylerpoo

    Dear Louis,
I received the 4 bead necklaces today, they are KILLER!! Just what I was looking for, looks like they would cost more and has a beautiful matte finish. I thought I would only order 2 of the colors but I remember the buyers regret on the last set of bead necklaces so I ordered all 4 of them and so glad that I did.

When will the stud earrings be available? Will definitely need those also. I’m so happy today!

I will do a review today.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

So glad you like them….you’re my first review! Unfortunately the studs won’t be avail until end of Oct. Nov. don’t ask me why…I have no idea.

  7. Sherry

With an Olive WK skirt coming…will there be other Olive WK tops to go with it???

      1. Goldie76

        I’m fainting. THUD!

        1. Seka

And I know there is an Olive Suede Jacket coming too!

      2. Pecan Cookie

Whee! I’ll cartwheel over and pick up Goldie from the floor so we can do a dance of joy!

        1. Sherry

          Happy dance, happy dance….

        2. Goldie76

          Oh, how hilarious! Happy times!

      3. Sherry

Great news…thanks…which color of the 2-Strand bead necklaces do you prefer with the Olive WK? Please…

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s not a fair question, because I like them all. It really depends what you wear with the olive….if your wearing black with it, as in tights and footwear….then I like gold or gunmetal….if yor wearing walnut or dark brown accessories, then I like the chocolate

  8. designista

Good Morning Mr. Top Rated! I just received an email from the Q that my order for the two row necklaces has shipped. There was a link entitled “View Customer Top Rated Items”. Subsection “Fashion” 1233 items are listed. Under “Brands” 10 names are shown; Linea is not one of them. Under “Other” you find:
Linea 184 Customer Top Rated Items
    Denim & Co 147
    Isaac 123
    Graver 113
    Quacker 111
All the other brands have single and double numbered top rated items. You are the King! Long live the King! That doesn’t even consider the percentage of top rated items compared to total inventory. Isaac has 974 items showing in inventory, Graver has 1539 items, and Linea has only 353. Over 50% of Linea items are top rated! Love Ya!

        ROFLOL

        1. Karen in WA

Sorry, that’s not what I ment to say here. Jayne kept calling you Mr “customer top rated” Monday morning. That must have been what she was referring to.

      2. Cela

“Other” means Couture. And in Couture, items are treasures– fewer in number and MUCH MUCH more difficult to acquire than “mass produced”.

  9. Margo Ducane

Louis I received an email this morning from QVC as a program reminder that you have a show tomorrow, Sept 12th, no time noted for your show. Is this accurate? If so, what time is your show.

    Best Regards,

    Margo

    1. Belle Femme

      I received the same notice.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

What can I say…..except NO…I do not have a show tomorrow. If you look at the program guide it says Denim and Co. Maybe they want to hood wink my Linea customers into watch a D&C show???!!!!…..LOL

        1. Kate

          They’re not that clever.

Kate said, they are not that clever. I was Rolling On the Floor Laughing Out Loud (All by myself, I thought it was funny).

  10. Chris S.

    Hello Louis,
I just wanted to let you know that I went on waitlist for 3 pairs of the ponte knit pull on pants after my original order was destroyed by UPS during shipping. I have been lucky to have received all three colors that I waitlisted. I love them. Now I’m set with pants for the fall and winter.Hopefully the buyers will order more colors for us next year and keep the basics in stock.
Thank you for your beautiful clothing.

  11. Seka

Pearl Necklace J296624 is available on Q – Cream or Gray options.

  12. BCM

    Hi Louis,

I love your two strand necklaces and your suggestion to wear two different colors. The gold is a definite for me. Would it pair nicely with the gunmetal or should I stick with the obvious choice silver? (I’m leaning towards the gunmetal, not sure if it will work.) I need the Master’s advice:)

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I think the gold is too bright for the gunmetal. It will over power it. That’w why I like the gold/silver, chocolate/gunmetal. They are equal in value

      1. BCM

Thanks Louis. You saved me a possible return. I’ll purchase the gold/silver combo.

  13. Goldie76

    Dear Louis,

I received my T-neck in olive yesterday. Yours is the only olive that works for me. Perhaps it is because it tips more to brown than yellow — I don’t know — but I am in love with it. This leads me to ask: Will that olive WK skirt return for order? If not this year, then next, maybe?

Thank you for continuing your reign as the “King of Color.”

    1. Goldie76

p.s. I had ordered the olive with the aubergine when they were first offered, but then the olive was removed as a choice.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

The OLIVE is for Oct along with the new STONE which matches the ANIMAL INSTINCTS stone tights.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes…..but I’m not sure if they are an exact match since the olive is new…it should be very close if not a match.

      1. Goldie76

Thank you for responding, Louis. I’m delighted the olive WK skirt is coming. No matter what, I am going to get it. Of course I hope it matches the olive T-neck or, at the very least, “cooperates” with it.

I love my jewel tones, but I also love deep autumnal shades like your aubergine and olive.

    3. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s exactly the reason…..the brown makes it more universally friendly to many complexions. I love yellow olives like chartreuse, but not everyone can wear them…..for those who luckily can…it’s a fabulous edgy color.

  14. Beachbird

i realized that I would easily register a concern or ask a question and thought that I could just easily say… thank you for your beautiful designs.
    Wishing you a wonderful day.

  15. Sheesh

Hi, Louis. I received the Petrol Whisper Knit Zip Front Cardigan today and the zipper works just fine, thankfully. Whoever sewed mine in knew what they were doing—whew! What a great sweater. Looking forward to pairing it with the Grey Ponte skirt and Grey tights and wearing the new Gunmetal Graduated beads with it. A departure from my typical Black choices.

i loved them and would like to buy more pairs, crosses are so in!!

qvc is out of stock, can someone please tell me where else can i purchase them?????

    thank you……….

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I believe they have been reordered, but I will check to make sure

  17. Patti j

    Hi Louis

Godfreako mentioned the linea leisure line again … It sounds wonderful. Any idea when we will get to order?

    Thank you,

    Pattij

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Not until next year

  18. Annie

Louis the new Wk long sleeve dress looks perfect. It is just what I’ve been hoping you would bring to us. Please let us know if it will be on the Sept show. Thank goodness Barbara captured Godfreako’s picture of it in black before it went poof. I’m guessing/hoping there are at least two colors, yes? This has many of us itching to buy it. I’m hoping since you have said nothing about it, perhaps it maybe a One Time Only. Keeping fingers crossed.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Annie….I haven’t posted all of my sneak peeks yet, and even though it is supposed to be for the September show there is a 5am show and a 2pm show so I doubt it will be a OTO at that time….and if there was a OTO they would not pick this dress…..it would be something they bought more of.

      1. LauraL

That means they didn’t buy enough of the dress. IMHO that is a must have.

I guess I better be up early to catch the worm so to speak.

Looks like a beautiful and comfortable dress.

        Laura

  19. Sherry

The Q has put up pictures of the 2-strand necklace in the Chocolate and Silver, but the other 2 pics remain with the 3-strand pearl necklace. Ooppsie!!!

    1. Seka

All the Photos are correct now!

  20. Jules/Ciley

Good Morning Louis 🙂 Was sitting here reading all the posts and I certainly can relate to not being able to go like you once did. I have found that not only do I do less but I take a lot more time to do it and a night of trying out the latest wines from Napa causes me to take a day off completely! I cannot even imagine doing everything that you do and thats when I thought, maybe its time for LDO to get an assistant? With the line expanding into leisure wear, the jewelry, trying to make sure the Q has the right item numbers, the sneak peeks, answering all the questions, driving back and forth to Pa., doing the shows, WHEW! I’m exhausted just from typing all that! We APPRECIATE your dedication and personal touch to every step along the way but there are only so many hours in a day and we want you around for a long, long time!! Someone who could take pictures of the clothes for sneak peeks, post them, make sure the Q isn’t up to any crazy shenanigans would be a help no? I’d love to volunteer myself but it would be a LONG commute! Just a thought….. Big hugs to you and Jac and thank you again for all that you do! Jules

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jules….I actually do have people to help me with the jewelry and hosery, and I have a person who is my direct link with my manufacturer, but when it comes to the shows I prefer to do it my self….This way I know nothing is missing and I have alternatives in case something I order from QVC doesn’t show up.

      1. Anonymous

Louis so glad you do the QVC shows yourself!!! It is really important to see your presentations and thoughts on each piece. It is never the same when they present Linea items without you and Jac. We need you at the Q parenting your crations;)))

      2. Jules/Ciley

That is good to know! Just trying to deal with QVC as a customer is trying at best, I cannot even imagine what it must be like on the other end. You probably don’t know this Louis but we are very protective of you!!! 🙂 (big surprise huh)

  21. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Regarding the Linea A84333 sweater one of the Linea ladies scored on e-bay yesterday: I too have this fabulous ottoman knit sweater in black, magenta and peacock.

Which reminds me Louis how long I have been hoping and wanting you to do a really fantastic long black leather glove!!! Any chance of that happening????? This is not the only beautiful Linea item that just begs for the long Black leather gloves.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy….you gave me a good laugh….God bless you!….Since they won’t buy Linea berets, I doubt they will buy Linea gloves!…..LOL

      1. Seka

Louis – There’s always tomorrow! Look what happened with your fabulous Jewellery! And Linea Body! …..AND……this Fall/Winter we have FOUR Outerwear Coats/Jackets to tempt us (Swing Jacket, Pea Jacket, Suede Jacket – and Faux Fur Reversible Coat)!

      2. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

You know you are a “dyed-in-the-wool” Linea Lady when this happens: It was 59 degrees this morning. So around 7 am my husband came downstairs to get us both out to vote before leaving for work. I was dressed in my Linea navy WK turtleneck, Linea navy ponte knit pull-on pant in new petite sizing, and over the top of that the Butter Yellow Linea nautical cardigan from 2009 ~ A00140 ~ and shoe boots and he said “Wow! You look fabulous!!! But we’re only going to vote!” 🙂 Hey! I don’t venture out without my Linea 🙂

  22. Kate

The QVC program guide has you scheduled for this Friday 9/12 from 2-3am?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      That’s a MISTAKE!….I do not have a show on Friday 9/12 at 2am

      1. Kate

Man, the Q is striking out all over with regard to Linea this week. First the pearls, and now this! Or, maybe you’re about to get a call today…! I’m pretty sure from reading the forum that slot was originally slated for Joan Rivers.

        1. Sherry

The Inside Q magazine has Clinton Kelly in that time slot.

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have informed them I am not avail. This was a very last minute change, and I just can not do it….sorry.

  23. Sharon Santourian-Holman

    Louis and Linea Ladies,

Had to share… I just received an EBay Linea sweater circa 2009, A 84333. 90% acrylic, 10% wool in an a East West rib knit with a high collar cardigan. This is the most beautiful cardi ever! The knit is fabulous and soft with body- nice weight, it looks brand new….wow. Louis…it’s gorgeous.

    1. Seka

Sharon – I have that Sweater in Black! It really is Fantastic! One of my Aunts now has it – still looks great!

      1. nikki

I have that in black also. It is one of my favorites and I would love it if Louis can bring it back, even at a higher price.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

So glad you were able to get that sweater…..as I recall it only sold fair. It was a beautiful sweater jacket.

    3. Sheesh

Sharon, I have it in Black and in Magenta (can’t recall the name)!

  24. Seka

    A Message for DeLois
If you go to the Q site – the Linea Forum – there’s a Thread called “Does anyone know what Linea will be new for October?” – you will see photos (from godfreak) of the WK Dress.

  25. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Louis, one problem to report. I noted today how much I love the zip front cardigans in nutmeg and black. After playing with them with various color combos, I found I had a problem with the zippers on both sweaters. They get stuck on the bottom and won’t pull up. I can get them to “go” 1 in 20 tries. I hauled out every zipper remedy I could think of. First soap. Then candle wax. Then beeswax from my sewing room. My favorite zippers in sewing were always YKK. Don’t know what the current “best” is, but these zippers are frustrating. I checked the item page and there are now 2 reviews up of persons who couldn’t make the zippers work and returned the item. I’m keeping mine. It’s a gorgeous sweater. What I’ve done is get them to work “once” after heavy wax application and inserted a safety pin on the zipper placket about 4 inches from the bottom. I’ll be putting these on over my head zipped down that far and then zipping most or all of the way back up – the way I will most often wear the sweaters anyway. If you know of any great zipper first aid I’ve overlooked or if any of the other Linea Ladies do, please post. I don’t want to go through the hassle of returning and getting 2 more with the same problem. Especially if I can “fix” the problem on my own. In the end, if I find that I have to return them I will. Hate to let a zipper defeat me though.

    1. Diann

I ditto what Nancy is saying about the zipper on the sweater. I ordered it in the nutmeg and it wouldn’t zip up at all. However, I did sent it back and asked for a replacement. The 2nd sweater seems a little better as after some work or should I say struggling I was able to get the zipper up. I found the bottom of the zipper was wedged into the bottom of the sweater. Its like the zipper was put in and then hemmed. It is a beautiful sweater and very soft to wear.

    2. Diann

Had the same problem with the nutmeg sweater. Think the process of adding the zipper was done wrong. Almost looks like the zipper was put in first and then the bottom of the sweater was hemmed. AS the hem part keeps getting in the way of the zipper to be zipped up.

      1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Thanks Diann. I did everything possible to clear all fabric, inside and out, away from the zipper and then pinned it away to make sure it wasn’t the fabric catching. I still can’t zip the zipper. I’ve ordered some “Zipper Ease” from Amazon which gets good reviews. BUT I too noticed that I’ll need to do some “tacking” down at the zipper bottom once I can finally get the zipper working better, to keep the WK fabric away from the bottom of the zipper pull.

    3. Louis Dell'Olio

I sent your message to the production team. I only know the classic ways…..My mother used to use a bar of Ivory soap.

      1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Thanks Louis. I can tell you right now, I’ll be wearing this sweater but will keep on trying to diminish this problem.

  26. Seka

Louis, you had posted photos of the Ivory Pearl Necklace with Gold Beads – and the Gray Pearls with Gunmetal Beads. What about the Chocolate and the Silvertone? There are no photos on the Q site – I ordered them anyway – but would you have photos, please?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

This is going to be a nightmare….there are no chocolate or silver tone pearls…that’s another necklace in those colors…the 2 strand metal bead necklace…..they screwed up….they are supposed to fix it.

      1. Seka

I know Louis, something so simple! I did order 3 of these Necklaces – and if they are the two Strand Bead Necklace – that’s okay – I want those as well!

So – is what they are selling – the two strand Bead Necklace – if so I will post on the Forum.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I would guess so, but I never got the style number of the two strand necklace so I’m not 100% sure. They have a style number [which isn’t the pearl necklace] and the colors are for the two strand graduated metal bead necklace so it in all likely hood is the style number….but who knows for sure… it could be a Quacker sweater???…..LOL

          1. Seka

Well I hope not – I do not want 3 of those! LOL

Hope the Q corrects this soon! If you recall – when your Opaque Tights were posted without the Size Chart – it took them 2 weeks to make that change!

  27. LauraL

    Hi Louis

I think the issue with the necklace is actually they have the wrong picture. The item number is J296893 not J296624 which is what your sneak peak says is for the 3 strand necklace.

    Laura

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The J296624 is the number they gave me last week for the 3 strand pearl necklace….they said they would fix it….we’ll see.

  28. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

I couldn’t see it well enough to tell on the FEW show today….. Was Jac wearing the upcoming Lurex tights????? Or did I get that wrong in the split second I was able to get a slightly better look at them? I’m looking forward to those.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy….Jac had on the black Peek-A-Boo lace tights with the fuchsia jacket and the Heather Gray tights with the gray ponte skirt and the new SILVER BEAD NECKLACE……….however she would also have looked Fabulous with the BLACK/SILVER LUREX TIGHTS and the same outfit.

      1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Thanks Louis! Have the feather gray tights (and every opaque color plus all animal instinct versions) and am definitely looking forward to the Lurex. Just got two of the zip front WK sweaters today in “nutmeg” and of course in “black”. There is a love affair going on in this house with “nutmeg”! I avoided it for a long time because of the ORANGE pictures of the nutmeg pieces online. When I finally broke down and ordered – because I’m really, really in love with the WK mid-calf skirt and two in black and one in petrol blue was just NOT ENOUGH 😉 ~ I got the open front cascade cardigan (my 4th color in that beauty)in nutmeg and the mid-calf skirt in nutmeg and oh boy I Am In Love with this color! So I ordered the zip front versions too. I’ve been trying on all of my boiled wool jackets and coats with this zipped up nutmeg sweater and I’m loving that extra touch of “slimming” that the style gives when zipped up under a coat or jacket as well as the stunning contrast of the “nutmeg” to camel, and deep hunter green and black and dark navy and more. Thanks for opening my world up to “nutmeg”! Also looking forward to the matching WK scarf!

  29. Cela

Just a thought, and anyone can feel free to disagree with me, but I’ve seen the current trend of “layering” as depicted in Sept ’14 Style mag. Louis is probably the inventor of layering, at it’s BEST, American sportswear style.

If anyone’s wondering about the definitive Art of Layering, just watch the Linea shows. It will save us all tons of headaches. Maybe… hopefully, Louis will show us his up-to-the-minute take on a upcoming show. No pressure, Louis. :-O

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cela….I love you enthusiasm, but I need a little rest….LOL….getting up at 3:45am isn’t what it used to be….it takes a toll, and more time to recover….I used to still at the clubs at 3:45Am and the night was young!…Those days are long gone!!

      1. Cela

Those were the good old days, party till you drop ! 🙂 You just rest until your next show, Gramps. Ha, ha, ha, ha got cha.

  30. Debbie B

Hi Louis, your pave pearl pin and pearl earrings are now available. However, QVC’s pictures are just not good. Could you post some better pictures? Maybe even repost some previous pictures where you used the pins.
    Thank you

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Debbie……the three strand pearl necklace and coordinating earring sneak peeks have already been posted on my website. The QVC description is wrong for the necklace. They have the description for a two strand bead necklace….they will be correcting it….I will post sneak peeks of the pin.

    2. Seka

The Necklace is also now available – Goldtone, Silvertone, Gunmetal and Chocolate!

Hi Louis – I desperately want the new double strand gunmetal necklace (or two!) to wear with a long sleeveless grey tank dress to a black tie wedding. Any idea when it will be available to order!?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have no idea, but I will ask when we are delivering them to QVC. Of course once we deliver I have no idea how long it will take for the Q to process the necklace and post it. They have the triple strand necklace in but it still hasn’t been posted?

  32. DeLois

Would someone more knowledgeable than I please explain Godfreaka and where do you find it???? Would love to see the dress that was sneak peeked and I have not a clue as to what you are talking about…..???????

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear DeLois…gODFREAKo is a phantom poster on the Fashion Forum who posts pictures of apparel, accessories etc from all the venders well before the Q is ready to post them and sell them…..The mystery is they are QVC photos so how does this person have access to them. When gODFREAKo posts them they frequently get deleted so you have to catch them early before they get bounced. My buyers told me they don’t know who this person is or how they can get into their system to get these pictures

      1. DeLois

Thanks a lot for your reply

  33. Pepper

    Hello Louis,
Which gray skirt did you mean when you said you have a pencil skirt to match the new
charcoal turtleneck? I see you have the grey ponte but I had the impression you may have a new charcoal pencil coming. Can you clarify? Thank you, setting my alarm for 3:00 Pacific to catch you tomorrow!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Pepper…there isn’t a WK charcoal gray skirt to match the TN. I was referring to the Ponte Knit Heather Gray skirt that is “tonal” with the TN. It’s not easy to get grays in the same cast, but these two work well and the Heather gray tights look great with the skirt…..Maybe in the future if the WK skirt reorders I can add the solid charcoal gray.

  34. Yoko

Louis do you have footless tights coming this season? Somehow I got the idea you would be offering them. I need a couple pairs and would rather wear your footless tights.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

YES, and they are fabulous….totally seamless…black, navy, gray, walnut

      1. Cela

How would you describe the “weight” of them, Louis? And the opaque ones, too.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

They are like real yoga workout pants….Heavier than the tights…They are meant to be worn out not as a tight…

      2. Yoko

Louis when will they be available? I want to wear them with verbs short ponte sheath dress and open toe ankle shootie that will show the bare ankle & top of the footless tight. I am 29 years old and wear quite a few of my mother’s a Linea pieces. I have started buying my own pieces from your line.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I don’t know, but I will find out…..it should be soon I hope.

        2. Louis Dell'Olio

YOKO….the LEGGINGS have been POSTED on the Linea Body QVC site, so you can order whenever you like!

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Yoko…I was told the legging should be posted “hopefully “by the end of the week ….so knowing QVC…probably next week or this week end the earliest.

  35. Linda

Louis, Thank you so much for the lovely Fall colors done in lighter fabrics. The flame stitch pieces are gorgeous. I live in Arizona, and absolutely love Fall clothing. While I indulged in the beautiful tweed, herringbone, and jewel tone jackets from last year, there are not too many months that are cool enough to wear them. The flame stitch pieces will be worn from September through February due to the lighter weight of the fabric, along with the matching WK sweaters. So pretty! Thanks again.
    Linda

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Linda…I am so happy you have fallen in love with the Flame stitch knit pieces. I know some felt they were a little too glittery for them to wear during the day, and only saw the pieces for dressier occasions. That is not however how I see them at all. I think they are very appropriate for day time or office dressing….especially mixed with the WK sweaters, and how I showed them mixed with the black, tarragon and luggage leather jackets. As Jeanne always said a little glitter is good, and I think these pieces are subtle. They must look fabulous in the light of Arizona.

  36. Eileen

Hi, Louis, I have a couple of questions which I think a lot of ladies would be interested in. How do you feel about wearing a red shoe with black tights, or a light shoe with black tights, or do you think one should stick with a black shoe with black tights? Let’s say you wear a red belt. I had always heard that you should repeat the color somewhere on your outfit to pull it together, but then would red shoes be too much, and would they be ok with the black tights? Of course it would be the same when using any color. Looking forward to the sage’s advice.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Eileen…..my answer is YES with qualifications. First, it is not an easy look to pull off, but when done well it can be very effective. I don’t think you necessarily have to where anything else in red, because you don’t want the total effect to be too busy, but if you want to….I would pick one other thing….a red belt….a red stone earring etc. Also, I think the outfit has to be very simple and some what edgy and even a little severe….for example my new WK dress with my lace Peek-A-Boo back tights and a RED SUEDE PUMP….or my new BLACK WK TURTLENECK with my WK black pencil skirt a red suede belt and a RED SUEDE SHOE BOOTIE…….or a black belt and a cross body bag in RED Suede. I keep saying SUEDE, because that it the best material to get a deep saturated red that doesn’t shine..You could wear a red turtleneck….black WK pants , black lace tights and a red pump, or an all black outfit with black jet accessories and black opaque tights and a red shoe…I think you get the idea….Paler shoes gets even more tricky….I don’t think you should venture any paler than a camel suede pump or shoe bootie with black tights. All said, this would hold true for any color shoe you want to wear with any kind of black tights [lace, pinstripe, herringbone]…..lapis blue, sienna, purple and malachite pumps. I’ve seen some fabulous color pumps in gorgeous suede colors, and all can be worn with black tights. Your own good judgement will tell you if it works or not….but do not be afraid to try…..there are NO CHICKENS in FASHION!

  37. Amy From Delaware

Happy Saturday Louis and Jac! I wanted to say that you had me in two words, “Persian Blue.” What a rich and vivid color that will carry through the fall, winter and early spring. Many women find their safe zone wearing black; however, I am a blue gal. I cannot wait to order and receive the beautifully constructed and detailed pea coat. Thank you for sharing and providing your creative talents and gifts to us. Many blessings to you and your lovely wife Jac.

    Best regards,

    Amy

  38. Sherry

What will you be showing us on Monday during FEW Pat and Jane?

      1. Sherry

        Love the sneak peeks…

  39. Kate C.

Godfreako is working her magic on the Q boards, has and posted a Sneak Peek of the new WK dress (among other things)! Would you please tell us what colors we can expected in the dress? Thanks, Louis-it’s beautiful!
Oh-and I NEED that raspberry pea jacket. I have been wanting one for years, and I trust that your design will be perfect.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kate….the dress will be avail in Olive, Walnut and Black…….anyone of them will look great with the Raspberry Pea jacket….you must get the matching raspberry shawl…it’s too perfect together. The pea jacket is incredibly made and tailored, and looks 5 times the price.

      1. Pamela

Love that WK dress – Want all 3 colors! The V neck & the ribbing near the waist line makes for such a flattering look. Just know it will be perfect for me – can’t wait, can’t hardly wait. Great for travel too!

Also, love the wing collar woven – Is it Ivory or White?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

          More white

      2. Kate C.

Decisions, decisions… it’s an abundance of riches!
And yes, I will be getting the raspberry shawl 🙂

      3. Sheesh

Hi, Louis. Will the WK dress come in Petite? I want a sexy, above the new WK dress!, but I’m height challenged Oh, and I got the Raspberry Shawl already—just waiting to snag my Raspberry Pea Coat in Medium!

        Sheila/Sheesh

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Unfortunately no……the only thing they sometimes buy in petites are pants. It will look great with tights and shoe boots or regular boots.

  40. blinddogs

    Louis,

The announcement of Claire Watts departure (ouster?) as CEO-US for QVC brought just one word to my mind: KARMA! I know you are always discreet so don’t expect you to comment, but you might want to check out the thread on Watts’ ouster on the Linea forum on the Q. From our long-ago fight to save Linea on the Q, many of us are very happy to see her gone. Perhaps now you will be able to once again bring us the higher-quality fabrics you were allowed to use in the past– before the former Wal-Mart exec’s taste level came to rule the roost.– Blinddogs

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Blinddogs….thanks for the heads up on the post. Frankly I have never met the woman, and don’t know much about her. I think you know more than I do. I will say I don’t think she had any say in the price of my garments. The merchandisers want the clothes to be a certain price and that’s it. Many of the fabrics that I used in the past are just to costly for the price range they want me to be in. They have found the higher the price of the garment…the higher the returns. Women will not keep a garment that they think is pricy, but many don’t return less expensive garments due to shipping charges. It really is my experience the higher the cost of the garment the higher the returns. Actually, many of the fabrics I have used over the last two years are some of the most expensive I have used. The new super ponte with a high rayon % is the most expensive quality I have used, and the tweed last year was very expensive. The one that came in Sienna, Violet and Raspberry was actually bought by Banana R. The cotton shirting, and rayon/span jersey that I use are also costly fabrics. The new flame stitch, Missoni like knit, was also a costly fabric. Honestly, I don’t think anyone on the Q is using better fabrics than I am. I will always be on the search for new and better.

      1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

I think I can vouch for that. I have a wide range of different Linea design fabrications that you have featured and I love them all. From feather jersey to the tweeds, from whisper knits to crushed gauze, from boucles to ponte knits and MUCH MORE – (and lets not overlook the tights) – just stellar fabrications! Thank you for sleuthing these “finds” out and designing beautiful offerings in them for us and at such darn affordable prices!

      2. jmarie

Shipping charges: Bingo. QVC has relied heavily on its profit from inflated shipping charges to bolster quarterly earnings and so Liberty stock value. The only way they can continue this strategy unlinked from return rates is to stop refunding original shipping charges on returns. But that’s a dangerous option and would undermine their sales. As shippers continue to increase their rates, QVC will be further squeezed and a new strategy will be unavoidable. So far, buying impulse seems to outweigh shipping costs–but that margin gets thinner with every increase.

We keep buying Linea because we have faith your judgement of quality: that’s why we’re willing to pay more for increased value. But for most of QVC lines, that’s just not the case.

  41. Jana

    Louis,

It was so compassionate of you to acknowledge Joan’s passing on your blog. I think
firecracker is the perfect word to describe the incredible woman she was. I could easily open a clothing and jewelry store and call it Louis and Joan’s , but I don’t plan to part with any of the clothing or jewelry from either line. Bless you for your beautiful designs and kind heart.

  42. Cheri

Louis, I would love to have a crepe jacket in pale yellow mint green, perfectly pink or pale blue for the spring and summer. I know it is probably too late to request this for the coming spring but maybe the following year. Your clothes are the best so classic and timeless. Thank you for all that you do for us. God bless you and Jac and of course your fur babies.

  43. PatB

The necklaces shown with the ribbed turtleneck sneak peeks – I am in love – where will these be available for sale?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Can’t see the pictures you are referring to……which color turtleneck?

    2. Pat

The black turtleneck has a beautiful gold sort of weave chain and the sienna turtle – the cross and the beaded necklace that sort of looks like root beer barrels. Love them!

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

The black TN has the gold Horse Bit necklaces that are avail now and the cross and bead necklace will be coming this season.

  44. Claudine Duval

Hi Louis any chance you will be coming out with a walnut solid color blazer ? I so love the color and need one in my wardrobe .Thanks LOVE your line on QVC – It is SUPERB

  45. Elaine

    Good Morning Louis,
Great little article on you in yesterday’s New York Social Diary, it’s a fashion week story.
Thank you for all you wonderful clothes.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Thank you jmarie…..I haven’t seen that photo. That picture was showing Donna and me with our first Coty Award. That bow tie!

  46. Becky - Lazy Lei

Oh, thank you Louis for posting the stunning turtlenecks! I went to the QVC site to order the peacock and the sienna, but of course I’m early. So, I’ll add them to my list headed by the upcoming pea coat.

Several days ago I also wrote QVC requesting that they offer your pants in TALL. I know other Linea Ladies have done this in the past. I received the standard reply that my request had been sent to the appropriate department. The regulars especially in the whisper knits are fine, but TALL would be better in more tightly woven and lined fabrics. (The rise is the concern.) There just aren’t other pants out there to match the colors and the quality of the tops, jackets and coats I get from you. Thank you for all you create for us!

  47. Deborah

    Dear Louis,

Will you have any other tops in that gorgeous sienna color, in addition to the new turtleneck? Thank you for letting us know in advance that the gunmetal cross and the barrel bead necklace will be back in stock. I was one of the unlucky ones whose waitlist orders could not be filled. Thank you so much for your sharing your talent by working and designing such beautiful things for us at such reasonable prices. You are one in a trillion.

    Sincerely,

    Deborah

    1. Deborah

I see I spoke too soon regarding the barrel bead, root beer necklace. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for that one, but the gunmetal cross is more than enough for now.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

No this is it for the sienna……the root beer and GM bead necklace hasn’t been reordered….sorry

  48. Beryl

Just a note to your buyers. They need to order more inventory in petite WK and PK pants. They fly out the window and there’s never enough. Just a suggestion.
    Beryl

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I’m still not sure it will get reordered at all….the flashing returns are high. I keep trying, but “between us on my website”, I’m not sure it will make it as a reorder.

      1. Beryl

I’m sorry to hear that. They are fabulous as are all your designs.

      2. Cela

OH NO, Louis. So sorry, but grateful I got all three this time. The quality was EXCTLY THE SAME. The waistband even improved! You’re timing was right on ! Nothing but KNITS KNITS KNITS this fall. How insipid can people be ? Sorry.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have never seen so many sweater knit pants as this season. Mark Jacobs, Calvin Klein Michael Kors, The Row …even Oscar de la Renta had sweater knit pants…..what can you do…I can only offer. I was hoping they would become a staple so I could do them in lots of colors, but that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.

          1. Nancy (AKA TheOwl)

Well, I’m grabbing up doubles as the returns come in. I too am in love with the WK in Petite sizing. Same with the Ponte Knit in Petite sizing. I’m going to keep on stalking and get doubles of anything I can. I can’t imagine that at some point they will sell out.

      3. Oh nooooooo…..Is it just the petites where the returns are high and a reorder unlikely, or all of the Whisper Knit pants in both lengths? I was SO looking forward to more colors. I got all three of the new colors but will now check for backups.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

          I don’t have a break down

  49. Annie

Petrol blue is glorious. This color is just right in so many ways. Thank you.

  50. Zoe

    Hello Mr. Louis Dell ‘Olio,

I am such a fan of you lace and I would love to see a long sleeved maxi style lace dress. I’m seeing so much lace in the department stores but no one does lace better than you! Also have you thought about doing a long pleated skirt in leather? I can still dream:)
Thank you for your hard work, God bless you!
    -Zoe

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Zoe…if you mean real leather….that would be out of the question for QVC pricing. I have done some when I was at AK and for them to come out right they have to be done in the finest calf leather skins which are small. When I did mine it had chevron seaming due to the size of the skins and then pleated like a fabric. I think the skirt was about $800, and that was in 1990.

  51. Pepper

    Hello Louis,
I just received and love the new charcoal color turtle neck and the matching ponte pants. I heard you mention that a matching pencil skirt was coming, can you share when and what fabric it will be? Also whisper knit midi riding skirt in black at any price……Priceless!!!!!

  52. Dariann

    Dear Louis,

Can you tell us when you will be selling your new ribbed turtleneck? I need the black!

    Impatient Dariann

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

It’s supposed to be on the Sept 29th show….what I won’t know for sure until we get closer to the date.

      1. Dariann

I can hardly wait for you to show it on your website!

  53. Karen in WA

Will you please compare Persian blue with cadet blue?

  54. SOLDOUT

    Hi Louis:

Please tell me if the Whisper Knit Sweater w/ Rib Detail(A210360)in the “Berry” color which is no longer available, is a match for the Whisper Knit Pencil Skirt (A237412) in the Aubergine. Also, do these colors coordinate with the Fully Lined Button Front Tweed Jacket (A237642)in the Rasberry. I did post this question 2x before and received no answer. Perhaps it was overlooked but I would like to know before I purchase the items.

    Thank you,

    Soldout

    1. Happy Lady

Hi Soldout…If I may comment….I have the berry sweater and aubergine skirt and no they don’t match or go with each other at all. I don’t have the Raspberry Jacket but I do have the new Raspberry sweater and shawl and they don’t go with the berry sweater or aubergine skirt either. They are all different tones.

      1. SOLDOUT

Thank you so very much! This saves me from making a costly mistake.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear SOLDOUT, I thought I had answered your question, but I see my response is not listed. Happy Lady is correct. The Berry does not work with the aubergine or raspberry solids, but it does look good with the raspberry tweed.

          1. SOLDOUT

Thank you! I will try it with the Raspberry jacket.

          2. SOLDOUT

            Thank you!

  55. Debbie

hi Louis, did you say that there were no more WK sweaters this fall? That just kinda breaks my heart, I hope we have more this fall..
    thanks

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Did I say that???….I must of had a memory lapse….there are definitely more Wk sweaters coming this fall!

      1. Debbie

thank goodness! cause we need more!
        Thanks for the response.

Don’t suppose you would want to elaborate?

Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Button Front Blouse with Collar

Louis will this perfect top be reordered. I wear it quite often and love the style & weight of the fabric.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No….this blouse has not been reordered…..sorry

  57. Barbara C

    Hello,

I have the MULTI STRAND GOLD NECKLACE J284035 and am thinking about buying a second one in gold because I love the look of a substantial necklace. But will you be showing a new necklace with a difference texture that I could use with the multi strand gold–in other words should I wait for a new piece to mix with the original? Thank you!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Barbara….I will have two new necklace in gold, but they are very different from the torsade. One has four rows of graduated nested beads, and the other I have sneak peeked already….the two row gold ball graduated bead necklace. I don’t think either, mixed with your necklace, will give you the look you’re after. I will say two of the two row graduated necklace looks fantastic together. One worn at the shortest length and the other at the longest length gives you four rows of graduated beads. This new one comes in four metal colors to choose from. I think if you want the look of a chunky necklace to go with the necklace you already have….you should get the second one…..there are very few left…..in the single digits.

  58. Kathy

Louis, I promise this is my last post regarding the tights. I have posted under “Linea” “Fashion Talk” and “Suggestion Box” also. Hopefully this will help. It is beyond my comprehension that your tights cannot be given a formal presentation. The Legacy tights are on air constantly, and they are not offering the quality that you bring to QVC and extended sizes which is a big plus.

Hopefully, if there is enough feedback, something will change. I ordered the animal tights to try them for size. Anxiously awaiting them.

    Thanks again.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kathy….I think, but I’m not sure, the Legacy brand is an in house product. In house brands will always get preferential treatment. That’s just the way it is. I am just grateful that TPTB allowed me to even have this line.I truly believe when I presented the product to them, and introduced them to the man who is responsible for producing them….they just couldn’t say no to this superior product.

      1. Sharon Santourian Holman

Well you all talked me into ordering 2 pair. Yesterday bought 2 pairs of Italian leather booties that are soft as butter…these tights will be perfect. 🙂

  59. KathiCalif

    Dear Louis ~

I just discovered you on QVC. So very impressed with your designs, quality of workmanship & fabrics, especially Whisper Knit & ponte knits. Absolutely FABULOUS. Just received 3 pair of the ponte pull-on pants in black, item #s A237394 & A256444. Wasn’t sure of my correct size so ordered the missy & petite. The PS fit me perfectly, no hemming needed when wearing my 3″ heels, very figure flattering. I want these pants in the other 3 colors but only the charcoal is available in PS. Does this mean these pants & other items either on waitlist or sold out won’t be available in fall or winter? If that’s the case, I’ll be so disappointed. I sent an email to QVC customer service suggesting they re-order some of your items asap but they only responded “your email will be sent to the appropriate department”. Are there any other places (stores or online) where I might find your clothing? Thanks so much. Hope you’re having a wonderful labor day weekend.

  60. Bobbie

    Hello Louis,
I couldn’t let the summer leave without letting you know how much I enjoyed all the wonderful summer fashions. I think I have previously commented on living in the various tunics, but I didn’t realize how often I would wear the assymetrical open front woven cardigan with matching tank (in all colors) with the skirt or leggings. It was so cool, comfortable and versatile that I found myself grabbing for it in my closet all the time. It was the first thing I packed for trips with all your jewelry, and here’s the thing: for an over 60 year old who doesn’t like to look matronly but tries to dress appropriate for her age, this outfit always made me feel effortlessly fashionable. The quality of the fabric makes the difference! The cardigan never lost its shape and flowed beautifully, and oh, the pockets! The length and shape of the skirt, tank, and cardigan were simply lovely! You are a blessing! Have a wonderful Labor Day holiday!

  61. Karlakaye

Louis, I have never seen the cassis color in person. Could I wear a cassis skirt with the aubergine tights? TIA

    Karla

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Karlakaye…..the cassis is a deep fuchsia. I looked at them together and I think it’s a stretch. I much prefer Fuchsia WK sweaters with the cassis

      1. Karlakaye

Thanks, as always, Louis for your speedy reply. I will stick with aubergine skirt AND aubergine tights. You’re the best!!!

        KK

  62. Pamela

    Hi Louis:

Just wanted to wish you & Jac a lovely Labor Day Weekend. It’s our last hurrah of the Season to enjoy sailing on Prince William Sound that holds great potential for some Sunshine. The tie dye dresses in Latte & Nectarine as well as the FJ hooded tunics lived in my weekender all Season. My Linea wardrobe serves well for both business & casual. Thank you Dear Design – so excited for the Fall lineup!

Hope you see some Sunshine too! ?

  63. NJ Lady

    Hi Louis,
Just wanted to say, I just returned from a Cruise to Bermuda and I have never packed so many things from one designer.
I took your assymetrical tank (just love), the assymetrical 3/4 sleeve with collar, color capris, your dress, jewelry, etc.
I felt great and looked super. Even hubby complimented.
    Thanks for all you do

    1. queendiva

      That’s the plan!

    2. NJ Lady

Of course, I feel like I have a personal shopper.
You and Jac are the best

      Have a happy holiday
Can’t wait for the fall fashions

  64. queendiva

    Hello Louis,
It appears ponte knits are the big feature for fall. Just got a catalogue featuring ponte knit pants, leggings, pencil skirts and tunics. Sound familiar? The same catalogue also features knits including a boyfriend style cardigan as well as classic shirts and even tights. Everything, including the tights, were considerably more $$$ than Linea, and certainly more than my budget allows for. No problem; I already own all these items in my Linea wardrobe- with $ left over for more Linea shopping!

    Thank you!
