………………………March 04 had a Nautical theme……………The ivory and navy blazers were made in Linen or linen/rayon [can’t remember]. They had contrast bands in red and an emb. of an anchor. Part of the emb was done in gold lurex. The buttons were gold. The crop pant was also in the same fabric as the blazers and in the same ivory and navy…….the ANCHOR emb. sweater tunic was in 100% cotton in a slightly heavier gauge. It had a bateaux neckline and the long sleeves had a wide ribbed border with two stripes, one being gold lurex to match the anchor. The bottom of the sweater also had a wide ribbed border with high slits. It too had the double color stripe at the bottom. This was offered in a chambray blue, ivory and a pale yellow…………The next sweater worked back to the blazers. I believe it was a silk and cotton blend. It had a ballet neckline and 3/4 sleeves. It had contrast bands at the neckline, the bottom of the sleeves and the body of the sweater. The narrow stripes on the sweater were GOLD LUREX……..There were more pieces to the March group as you will see in the following collage.

………………..March 04 had many reorders as shown above……The solid sweaters at the top coordinated with the jackets………The emb. linen and rayon tunic was reorder again and the swatches were trials of emb. colors for me to choose from. The actual ones chosen are not in the pictures because they had to be returned to the office for their records……The WINDOWPANE in the silk shantung was reordered again too…………….16 years later I brought the WINDOWPANE shirt/jacket back. However this time it’s in a stretch polyester and it has pockets. The fabric is amazing because it really does look and feel like the original with the slubs and all……It is still avail at a greatly reduced price.

…………………Feb 04 was the start of a new year…….a new Spring collection………Starting at the top left the now very popular linen/rayon blend. It satisfied all linen lovers, but also the rayon kept it from wrinkling so much which made it much more acceptable…….Also, the natural fabric lovers loved it. I called this the “Tree Of Life” emb. because between the paisley of the border , and above the border itself there were very primitive naive tree designs……..Next is a cotton/acrylic sweater with different size and color flat back faceted jewels hand embroidered. It came in two colors….. white with multi color jewels, and black with the same jewels colors. These were really fun elaborate spring/summer sweaters that couldn’t be duplicated today for anything less than triple the price……a true collectors item……..next was a cotton/acrylic long cardigan with contrast color bandings. It came in the ivory with the multi colors and navy with the multi colors. The jewel neck short sleeve sweater below was the coordinate and a fun separate sweater……..next on the top row was a Silk crepe de Chine shirt with two separate prints joined together and trimmed in white cotton. It was ordered in a blue and white and espresso/white as shown above………The cotton sateen jacket came back in thee navy/white and the espresso/white. This is the CORRECT sketch with the collar on the jacket. Below the sketch are the actual emb. applique swatches I received for approval……….On the bottom row it the extreme left is a sketch of “THE FIJI SILK WORK SHIRT” which was now reordered for the first time……….you will see how many of these pieces were coordinate with what was to follow………and that was the start of spring 04.

………………………I thought it would be interesting for you to see a draft I made of the embroidery design for the Feb. cotton acrylic sweater….Each color and shape represents a different faceted, flat back stone…..The turquoise borders were thread work……I still have these samples stored away……I designed every emb. I ever did for QVC. I only know of two QVC designers who did this themselves………Bob Mackie and myself.
