“THE CHERRY FAUX WASHED SILK JACKET & TANK”

………………For July 2013 I introduced a new fabric to the Linea Ladies……It was a FAUX WASHED SILK. and it was a beauty. It was a 100% polyester, but this was not the polyester of old. The Chinese were learning, and learning quickly, through their collaborations with Italian mills how to spin, weave and finish new qualities of polyester fabric. There were many times I could not tell the difference between silk and polyester. The only thing that gave it away was the price of the fabric. If it was real silk it would have been 10 times the amount. This fabric was weighty and had a beautiful, lustrous hand. The CASCADE FRONT JACKET I believe had bracelet length sleeves, and was slightly longer in the front. It draped with folds starting at the back neck. It was an open front so there was no closure….The matching TANK had a V-neck, cap sleeve and side slits. The colors for both pieces were CHERRY, OCEAN BLUE, and NUTMEG. They coordinated with a pleated pant. You can never have enough great tanks in beautiful colors for layering.

“THE FAUX WASHED SILK PLEATED PANT”

…………………The FAUX SILK TROUSER, had a single peat front to give the pant a more languid 30s look….It had a wide leg, zip front, trouser pockets, and elastic side stretch gores……..Sorry, the colors just don’t want to photograph as they are. The BOYSENBERRY, COCOA BROWN and TEAL were much darker and richer than they appear in the photo.

“THE OCEAN BLUE WASHED SILK JACKET & TANK”

…………………….OCEAN BLUE was a cross between Caribbean Blue and a Dark Teal. The luster of the fabric gave a richness that wouldn’t have been achieved in other fabrics…..It looked fabulous with the TEAL bottoms above, and black and a dark Linea navy.

“THE RUGBY STRIPE PONTE KNIT DRESS”

………………….The RUGBY or ROMAN STRIPE PONTE KNIT DRESS was a yarn dye fabric…..meaning each color of each stripe was a separate dyed yarn….then knitted together to form the stripe. This Ponte had a good weight and held the shape of the dress without collapsing. It had a ballet neckline and cap sleeves. It was sheath and had band pockets…..It was avail in three color combinations…..WALNUT/NUTMEG/OLIVE…..CARIBBEAN BLUE/GREY/BLACK…..and FUCHSIA/CHERRY/BOYSENBERRY….Even though this was a bold horizontal stripe. The placement of the colors was very flattering on the body………….It sold very well.
