……………………..The three pieces in the LAPIS Herringbone made for one fabulous runway look!…………The jacket had three custom made buttons down the front and one each on the flaps of the large patch pockets. It had a classic collar and lapel It had a wonderful shape…..The SIX GORE SKIRT had a graceful FIT & FLARE shape that moved beautifully when a woman walked………..The SHAWL was super big and generous so a woman could really wrap herself in it and wear it in many different ways. It gave the whole outfit a drama that gave it a true designer look! In the photos I have the suit with my classic WK TN.

…………………..For October 2013 there were ELEVEN NEW STYLES, and THREE REORDERS………The HERRINGBONE TWEED came in a jacket, a gored skirt and a large shawl……To coordinate with the woven herringbone pieces I did a companion herringbone print blouse in a faux crepe de Chine that came with a separate print oblong scarf. There was a fabulous zip front leather and knit jacket in the MALACHITE…..RUBY…. and BLACK that the wrap-over top worked perfectly with……There was one Ponte Knit dress with an angled hem in….VIOLET….BLACK….and MALACHITE……To finish the group there were two knit pieces with tiny sequins knitted into the fabric. “BOUCLE JACKET”

………………………When I first saw this fabric it reminded me of similar fabrics I had seen from different companies in Europe that specialize in these fabrics. These thick looped fabrics are very popular for outerwear jackets and coats. I fell in love with this fabric’s rich texture. The jacket/coat had bracelet length sleeves, a shirt collar, band pockets, DROP SHOULDERS and a slightly cocoon shape. The boucle held the shape perfectly. It came in…….MALACHITE……..RUBY……..and SAPPHIRE. These were colors that were soon to show up for the next month in a reorder blazer…Whisper Knits, a Ponte knit dress, and sequin separates…….Besides being beautiful, these jackets were very durable!……There was lots of Holiday jewelry developed for this time period too!

“THE HOODIE PONTE BLAZER”

……………………The HOODIE PONTE JACKET was one of my favorite jackets that I did for Linea. I thought it played so many roles in a woman’s wardrobe from a very unusual unique dressy blazer to a very casual new take on a hoodie….to be worn with jeans! The buyers must have believed in this style because they bought it in four colors…..WINE…..SAPPHIRE…..HEATHER CHARCOAL…..and BLACK. It had a yoke front and back, and lots of shaping seams…..plus it had band pockets….There was a little controversary over this jacket, because some didn’t understand putting a hood on a blazer, but they missed the point of a classic blazer with an unusual edge….However, many did understand it, and  the jacket did very well!…..It became a reorder, and still has that wonderful edge.
