…………………….In a word……..PARADISE!!!!!……..Twice a year for 19 years I would go to this villa located in PRAIANO, ITALY….to work with Andrea Pfister and Phyllis Footer, [NO PUN INTENDED] who worked for the AK licensee,  on the Anne Klein Couture Shoe Collection……..Andrea was a BRILLANT shoe designer, who had stores in Milan, Paris and London….and I was lucky enough to collaborate with him on the AK shoe collection for so many years….We were great friends. He and Jean Pierre were our best men at our wedding in Las Vegas!………Praiano is the next town south of the famous Positano. A 10 to 15 minute ride without the infamous traffic…. Andrea Pfister and his business partner, and partner in life, Jean Pierre Dupre owned the villa, which they totally renovated!….Andrea spent eight months out of the year working from the villa, while Jean Pierre traveled back and forth to just outside of Milan where their second home and factory was……Every weekend JP [as we called him], put the shoe samples Andrea had detailed at the villa, into work in the factory….They were together for 50 years!…..When they decided to retire they had to sell the villa….it was just too expensive to keep up…….I hadn’t known what happened to it, or who bought it until a mutual friend told me it was purchased by a luxury villa rental company……They named it “VILLA LILY, because they installed a lily pond with Koi fish and a waterfall? Basically they left the entire villa as it was except they did add bedrooms and a spa area [photo second in at bottom right]……on the other side of the ancient tower, [center top photo of the tower] that Andrea had already converted in a bedroom on the second floor of the tower, and a bathroom on the first…..connected by a spiral staircase…..The studio where we worked was located on the second floor…..In the photo at the upper left you can see three arch windows…..That was the studio. What surprised me was the main terrace was exactly the same with the same black and glass dining table and chairs…….and the pool area looks the same, and has the same lounge chairs and umbrellas! My bathroom [second photo up from bottom right with black and white tiles] is exactly the same…….I was really happy to see so much is the same!…..Even the living room/indoor dining, with the fireplace, looks the same with the all white furniture. I believe the villa has 9 bedrooms now and would be perfect for 3 or 4 couples to rent……There is a cook and maids to do whatever you need……….You can GOOGLE…….VILA LILY, PRAINO ITALY for the complete video tour. There are 2 or 3 videos………I am happy to see Andrea and Jean Pierre’s villa is living on in all of its’ splendor!!!!….but it also saddens me when I remember all of the great times Jac and I had, the great parties and dinners, and pizza parties made in their own brick ovens……..that they gave at the villa…….Andrea and Jean Pierre are with Jac in Heaven now, and I’m sure they are having a blast waiting for me!

……………………………For 19 years I made two trips each year to Praiano on the Amalfi coast…..Praiano was the next town down south of Positano….a 15 minute drive without the famous  traffic!……One of my trips was in the summer to work on the Fall AK Couture Collection of shoes, and the other trip was in the early fall to work on the Spring Collection of AK shoes. Many times Jac would meet me in Praiano for the week , and stay there with me while I worked with Andrea Pfister on the shoe collection. I collaborated with the incredibly talented Andrea on the Couture Shoe collection. He worked from his villa and that was just perfect for me……Jac would visit when I was there during the summer…..Jac is leaning on the railing near the lounge chairs with the pool just beyond. Positano is behind her to the left. You can see the rail in the collage of pictures….The villa was on a cliff and it was straight down to the sea from where Jac is standing……..We would have breakfast together on the main terrace, then I would go up to the studio on the second floor with Andrea, many times in bathing suits because it was so hot…….and we would work. Jac would spend the morning with Jean Pierre, Andrea’s business partner, and his partner in life. They were together for 50 years!!!! They would take themselves off on daily excursions, and we would all meet up by the pool for a loooong lunch and a swim!!!  Then Jac would lounge at the pool while Andrea and I went back to work until we broke for dinner……Jean Pierre would deal with the house and the dinner to come……A refreshing shower, and onto the terrace for a delicious dinner which most of the times Jean Pierre cooked [an excellent cook]…Jean Pierre was French and Andrea was Swiss….. We had lots of wine and conversation…..then off to bed and start another day!
