“THE DARK MAGENTA DRESS”

………………………..Whisper Knit is the most successful knit fabric I have ever offered. Almost every single style has become a reorder year after year. If you already own them you need no explanation why they are so loved. For those new to Linea Whisper Knit is a very special yarn that is exclusive to my brand. There are other companies that offer rayon/nylon/span blends but none are these exact fibers. When QVC places an order for a sweater, or in this case the dress, we place the order with the yarn mill and it is made for that order……exclusively. This yarn dyes beautifully, and the colors are always saturated. If treated properly it will not pill or shrink, and last for many many years. The base colors, navy, black etc., from year to year, always blend beautifully which allows you to build a wardrobe of base color pieces. This yarn is comfortable to wear and many styles are season-less…….That is why this yarn has been so successful.

………………..The new dress above, A343147 for the reg. and A343148 for the petite, is my latest WK offering…….The color is…..DARK MAGENTA…….The dress has a shallow scoop neckline, not too deep. It has a slim elbow length sleeve, which I consider very CHIC and modern…….This dress has my SWING BODY, with the inset godets at the sides. This is a MIDI dress and is approx. 47 inches for the regular length. The “sweep” of the dress gives the skirt a nice drape of “cones”, but still maintains a slimness over the hips as you can see in the photos. The dress is made in my medium WK in the Every Needle Rib construction. There is weight to the dress, but if you own one of my other WK dresses you already know what to expect. If you loved the other WK dresses than you will LOVE this one too. If WK dresses aren’t for you for what ever reason then I would not suggest purchasing this dress. Since dresses are rarely reordered and a WK dress has never been reordered, I would consider this a one shot deal. Personally, I’m very pleased with how this dress came out, I hope you are too……..To accessorize I have chosen TWO NEW NECKLACES. The center necklace I call the “HARP NECKLACE”. This came from my Anne Klein archives so the original has to be at least 30 years old, and the new one looks as good now as it did then. It will be avail. in the Russian Gold as you see it. The style # is J357131 and will be avail in August. The companion necklace is a continuation of my BYZANTINE group from a few years ago. For some strange reason we were not allowed to call it Byzantine this time around? I think it had something to do the the Byzantine link bracelet. I think they were afraid you’d be confused?! What ever, it’s a beautiful LONG necklace with OVAL ENAMELED beads and multi shaped and multi color station beads. This necklace will be sold as a set with the earring in the photo at the upper left. It has one  color bead and one enamel oval. You can mix these pieces with what you already own……..just play dress up!…….This dress is going to be PRESENTED THIS SATURDAY , August 4th on the Morning show with Leah Williams. The show starts at 7am, but I’m not sure what time I’m on. Remember, this show is on the main channel…………..much Love…………..Louis

This is why I so enjoy Louis’s website and all of the Linea ladies. (smile)

Many thanks to you, as well, for your quick reply. That’s wonderful news. I had a feeling that at least one of the Linea ladies had probably tried to shorten a WK dress or pants at some point.

I hope that you’re having a lovely day in your corner of the world.

Louis, not only do I love this new WK dress and plan to get at least the forest green and one other, but I’m delighted to see new Byzantine pieces. I’ll be getting that set as well. I have several of the earlier Byzantine pieces and this just makes the collection even better. Thank you for the heads up on that. I’m also thrilled with a higher neckline since most of my dresses are worn to church where I play organ. I like NOT to have to worry about showing too much or fussing about neck line adjusting when I’m scooting around on the bench playing music. I have all 3 of last years WK dresses from last season and I love them. But I always wear a sleeveless WK Linea mock neck or Linea sleeveless
WK turtleneck under them. It’s a more sporty look and gets positive comments. And I can focus on the music and know I don’t have to worry about my neckline getting askew in the middle of a difficult musical moment. Thank you for this beautiful new option! Any chance of a WK midi or long dress for winter with either a cowl or turtleneck?

    Louis —

The new WK dress is gorgeous! Like Grace, I’ll be buying the dress in all three colors.

I do have a question for you. I would like to change up the look of one of the dresses, most likely the black, by shortening it to give it more of a “downtown” look with one of your leather jackets and some great boots. Do you have any concerns about shortening/hemming WK? I have very broad shoulders, so petite sizes usually don’t work for me.

Have a wonderful week. I’m looking forward to all of the upcoming shows.

Michelle, forgive me for butting in since I know you want to hear from the great man himself, but Louis always says that the petite is sized exactly the same in his line as the regular. Only the regular is longer. I buy them interchangeably depending on the look I’m after. So the petite should accommodate your shoulders in the same way as the regular would. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your reply. I always appreciate hearing from other Linea ladies who have found solutions to the fashion issue that I’m having at the moment. It’s good to know that petite is an option for me.

I hope that the sun is shining and that you’re having a wonderful day in your corner of the world.

Michelle, I am 5’1′ and have had to have many WK’s shortened. I have a very good seamstress but I think any seamstress or tailor could do it. I’ve had pants, sleeves, etc. done.

I’m not sure why my reply to you didn’t post next to your comment, but it did not. My reply posted above.

        Thanks again.

Oh, Louis! LOVE this dress!!!!!! Checks every box for me. I will be ordering one in every color 🙂

Yay! Finally a WK dress for me! The higher neckline and elbow sleeves will look great on my frame. Even though I’m 5’11, I think the petite length will be ideal. Can’t wait to add this instant classic to my wardrobe.

Oh Louis, I love this! I do not have a WK dress yet, but I own so many of your WK tops. This is a dress that would work in Florida. I have that wedding in December I was thinking of wearing your moss crepe assymetrical top and skirt to. But I think I could wear this as well. Do you? Decisions decisions. I need the black. It’s going to be a tough choice between the green or magenta…

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Both would definitely work….the Moss Crepe is lighter in weight, but if the reception is in an air condition place it won’t matter.

Thanks Louis! No matter what the temp is outside, A/C always influences what I wear. You have been very bad for my wallet this year! 😆 So many beautiful designs.
