“MAY 2002”

…………………………May 2002 ended the Spring /Summer collection for the year. The famous SILK WINDOWPANE shirt/jacket was first introduced. A solid was also offered, but it was the windowpane that was the star. Stripe sweater, and a V-neck sweater with a shirt collar and 3/4 sleeves was new and fresh and still looks great today. Silk Dupioni was introduced and used for shirts. At the bottom left a linen/rayon topper with high side slits was the start of many toppers to come. A Silk print bordered shirt was done in the colors of the group. At the bottom right a TULIP print shirt and long pull-on skirt in poly georgette finished the group.

I had so many of these things–still have the crest print blouse, a green and turquoise silk skirt, and the aqua silk utility blouse. I did have the v-neck silk sweater in red/ivory and Turquoise/lime until last year. I just ran out of room for all the old and the new pieces! It’s so much fun to see the original drawings.

It’s very heartening to see these dazzling spring colors on these beautiful designs. I am looking at them and hearing Freddy Cole sing “You must believe in spring”. I’m a believer right now. Thanks, Louis!
