“NAVY CADY”

………………………………ALY DUNNE was a SPECTACULAR MODEL……..a RARE BIRD…………..I used Aly in many shows and ad campaigns. If you google her you will see quite a few photos of her in my ads. Her hair in the ad photos is always pulled back in a very close to the head French Twist. You never knew with Aly what she was going to do with her hair. I LOVED this pixie cut. She was often compared facially to Audrey Hepburn when shot at certain angles…….She eventually left the modeling world while she was at her peak. To say I was very disappointed was an understatement, but Aly told me the time was right. Good models with level heads know when it’s time to go. There are signs……bookings start to slow a little. Their names aren’t on everyone’s lips, because there are always the new young girls coming up. Even though Aly was unique and no one looked like her….she took her leave. It’s always better to go when you are still in demand and at the top….instead of sliding down the slippery slope of modeling! She moved to California, and tried to become a singer/actress…….I think she was just too beautiful and too tall to be a successful actress. She would have been taller than 95% of the leading men…..I recently googled Aly and I was happy to see she aged beautifully and didn’t succumb to horrible plastic surgery, and distorting fillers. Her hair is white and in a pixie cut, not too different than it was all those years ago…………….Above, Aly is wearing a Navy Cady Kimono and strapless chemise dress. Again, the dress had a light weight bustier under it to keep everything in place……Aly is also wearing the original PALM FROND NECKLACE & EARRING.

It’s so much fun to have you review this Collection. Interesting to see some pieces that turned into Linea pieces with a twist!

I have been hearing that dresses are making more of a comeback. What do you think? I looked at a few April Cornell porch dresses and bought two of them as I thought they were perfect, lightweight house dresses for the summer (and for tea time on the porch).

Karen, I always think dresses are important….That’s all a friend of mine wears in the summer. She says they are so much more comfortable than pants in the heat. I’ve seen so many pretty ones in all different catalogs. The reason I didn’t do too many for Linea was because they ALWAYS had high returns….You can’t keep going down the same maze with the same disappointing result. I still have one or two Linea dresses left. The short gauze one I really loved.

I am such a dress girl myself and love the femininity. I love the three different WK dresses that I have in a few different colors. My favorite summer dress is the button up, knee length dress with the cinch waist that I have in fern and blue. I wear that one all the time with the fishy necklace to run errands or go for a coffee date!

I agree with you! I have the golden Linea Palm Frond that because I’m a relative newcomer to Linea I bought on eBay when I happened to see it in new condition— there is no other piece like it! I had seen different pictures of it on QVC from the past at different times and thought how sorry I was I missed it, then found it by accident. I couldn’t believe it! It is a favorite piece!

Ah, the exquisite Palm Frond necklace — my personal favorite of all my Linea necklaces. The truth is, there are a few others nipping at the heels of the Palm Frond, so to speak, but my Palm Frond necklace with the gold finish is so satisfying and enchanting. It pleases me in every way!

And yes, I did get it in the Silver and Gunmetal finishes as well as the longer length, but the short and golden Palm Frond wins the Oscar in my trove of jewelry.
