Up Date

It was decided to hold the slim pant for the Sept. show since we have the slim and straight leg pants……sorry for the delay if you were looking to get it on this show. I will still be sneak peeking it.

I’m sure you have more pressing matters, but wanted to be sure that you’d found out that our beloved v necks and mock necks are MIA. WAAAAAAAA! If you know the status, and have a few minutes to post, we’re all anxious to order.

So Louis, here’s what I’ve discovered is the hurricane protocol in the Northeast … bring all pots and furniture inside; fill the bathtubs with water, have lots of flashlights, candles, batteries and water in stock … and have numbers jotted down for all Linea items, in case power goes out and you have to use the one landline phone to make orders after midnight, after the hurricane hits!

    Been there, done that!

THRILLED that you will be on soon. The more shows the better (but only if they are during decent hours, and not those nasty 3AM shows!). Will patiently wait for all of your gorgeous garments. Just picked up (ordered yesterday) the 2 ribbed sweaters you start your blog with below, in both black and pewter. I ordered a Small (i normally wear an XS or S in Linea) since they gave me a 35″ chest measurement for the Small, and I was concerned the XS would be a little too fitted. From what I’m reading about them, we need more colors! I’m a black and pewter lover, but love to add a touch of FUSCHIA (etc) every so often. How about an in your face color, but with the Louis flare?!!!!
Love you…. can’t wait to see you, and still calling out for a TSV from YOU.

      Dear NYC1,
I know you are going to love the sweaters……I think you will be fine in the size you have chosen but a heads up about knit measurements…..DO not compare your knit measurements with your woven pieces to make a decision on how they will fit. Knits usually have a lot more stretch than a woven and the measurements may sometimes be smaller than you are expecting. If they were the same the sweater could be too big. This of course depends on the type of knit so if it is a style that already has reviews….you should read the womens comments and let that help to make your decision. The majority is usually correct…these are very savvy women! I would love to do this sweater in 10 colors if the Q would order them!

      Hi

You might check out the Linea Community on QVC because there was a recent thread on the sizing of this sweater. IMHO, if you are between XS and small in Louis clothes you would be better off with the XS. I am between small and medium and the medium in this sweater was too big and the small fit much better.

Louis, not really a question but more of a concern. We are concerned about you and Jac with the pending arrival of “Hurricane” Irene Sunday near the Jersey shore, near QVC. We are looking forward to seeing both of you, but stay safe.

    1. louisdellolio

We will be leaving for PA on Sat. so we can take our time. Unfortunately on Sunday after the show we have to get back to our girls. As you know we live on the CT. shore and I wouldn’t want to leave the responsibility to our dog sitter. Thanks for your concern….we’ll be careful! regards, Louis

      1. Susan (aka Carlytwila)

It would be great if you could bring the girls along with you! I’ve seen other QVC designers bring their pups with them and they have introduced them on air, so perhaps they would let you do this. We would all love to see the girls ‘live’! Then if the storm is really bad, your ‘family’ is still all together. It would be stressful for all if for some reason you’re delayed on Sunday. (My ‘girls’ – two standard poodles – get so stressed when I leave them….)

We have decided that Claire [out dog sitter] will take the girls home with her. Since we live on the Long Island Sound, we felt it would be safer for her and the girls to be inland. A three hour and maybe more drive is too much for them and Sammy gets car sick after 5 minutes. We will probably have to stay in PA Sunday and come home on Monday. I don’t think we can drive at 9:30-10am from PA to Ct. right in the heart of the hurricane. I wouldn’t want to be driving over the George Washington Bridge with 100 plus mile an hour winds. I’m sure it will be closed since the storm is supposed to go right through the center of Manhattan….You will just have to have us.
          ………..regards, Louis

Jac and you will make the trip to Pa. for the show, and Murphy’s law will show its head. I will lose power here in LI and will not get to see the show. This better not happen. Seriously, this hurricane is going to be a strong one. They are pretty positive about it. This month my house was hailed on, witnessed an earthquake, and now this “Irene”. Just take care of each other. That is the only thing that really matters. Hopefully we will weather this too. I’ll be waving at you and Jac.

We are leaving very early Sat. morning and probably won’t come home until Monday. I dread to think what we will find when we get home. Living on the water is beautiful but, dangerous……….we will be careful!

Louis, we live on the eastern side of the Chesapeake Bay and spent Friday battening the hatches, corralling the lawn furniture in a fenced-in “dog patio”, duct-taping windows and doors on the boat house at the water’s edge, etc. We are right on the edge of the hurricane/tropical storm line on the weather maps. Prepare for the worse, pray for the best. But if my internet service goes out tonight– before I get to pre-order your new clothes– there will be a hurricane of a different type at my house! LOL
        Stay safe..blinddogs

The news said that 20% of the US population will be affected by Irene. If that is the case and there re a lot of power shortages, I don’t know how successful this show will be? 8am is right in the middle of the peak of the storm….as you said, “prepare for the worst and pray for the best.” STAY SAFE!!!

    Hello Louis,
You stated that the straight leg pants looks better with a short jacket. How short of a jacket. would the quilted jacketed planned for sep be ok with it? how about the safari jackets sold earlier in the season.

thanks, i am trying to see if i need the straight leg pants or not, your answers will help me decide
    Regards

    1. louisdellolio

The straight leg pant works with everything…as does the slimmer leg. It’s just a matter of the silhouette you want for that particular outfit, Neither pant is extreme. Personally, I usually, but not always, like a slim pant better than a wide leg pant with longer jackets. The straight leg really works with everything.
      ……………….regards, Louis

I have the contour waist pants from last winter in black. Do I want the straight leg pants in black, too? I know I want the slim leg. I see how those are different. Can you tell me the difference between the contour waist and straight leg pants.

    Thanks,

    Carol

    1. louisdellolio

There isn’t a big difference. You should get the slim in the black and maybe the olive and the straight in the fawn…..really any way you go with the colors you can’t loose……regards, Louis

      1. Carol

Oh, I’m definitely getting all three colors in the slim leg. And the fawn and the olive in the straight leg. Just wasn’t sure I needed the black in the straight leg–especially since I have two pairs of the black contour waist pants–one tall for heels and one regular for flats. I love how your pants fit me.

        Thanks, Louis.
