SNEAK PEEK #2

SNEAK PEAK #2, A219896, is the “WHISPER KNIT BOW SWEATER”. The colors are Ivory, Perfectly Pink, Black and Chartreuse. It has a jewel neckline [which is slightly more open than a classic crew neck]. The bow actually unties, but the button placket down the front is faux…..so it does not open…..you won’t have to worry about it gaping. The buttons are tiny domes and they are pearlized. The sleeve cap has shirring for a more feminine drape and fullness. The bottom of the sleeve and of the sweater has wide bands of ribs like the waist whittling jewel neck. NOTICE the two ways of wearing the sweater……the black and the chartreuse are both worn with a blouson effect, while the p.pink and ivory are worn pulled down which gives the sweater a straighter line [which may be better for certain body types]. I also like it this way…. worn with a narrow belt as the ivory sweater indicates. The chartreuse sweater is shown with the new longer knit pencil skirt in black. It also looks great with the new faux suede straight skirt in AVOCADO, which is darker than the chartreuse. This is a great sweater for layering under jackets, as the pink  sweater under the pink emb. jacket and the black under the gray chenille illustrate. The ivory sweater is paired with the espresso long Roma Ponte essential skirt, but you know, it will work with anything….and every color or novelty jacket you already own. Of course they look great with jeans. I truly believe this will add that something extra to your wardrobes and you will find it works with more things than you thought it would…….I don’t know why, but it reminds me of “Bonnie and Clyde”…………………..much Love, Louis

    Louis,
GREAT DAY IN THE MORNING !!
I thought I was going to be paying down my card and now you come out with this scrumptios sweater that is a must have in at least two of the colors !!
Even though the card WILL take a hit—– Thankyou for the feminine style–
the sweater is a little retro–with I truly love !!
    Can’t wait !!

    Louis,
I know what you mean about Bonnie and Clyde… Faye Dunaway did wear a similar sweater or the top of her dress had a similar design…that top and her cloche hat looked gorgeous…

This is such a perfectly lovely sweater…It is funny, when I see an item that I just totally fall in love with and have to have… Let us have a peek at those suede shirts….pretty please:))

      Dear Victoria,
As you can see, I am very influenced by movies old and new. The designer who did all of Dunaway’s costumes, and won an Oscar for them, passed away last week. She also did Dunaways costumes for “The Thomas Crown Affair”. She was a great talent and a great influence on the fashion industry. She will be missed.
I will have lots of sneak peeks for all of you….if only I knew how to post them!! At the moment I have to wait for my “computer guy” to post them for me. He isn’t always avail. Jac and I tried to do it on our own but for some reason the “collages” won’t post. We need a lesson………regards, Louis

Have him give you a “cheat sheet”. That’s what got me through changes at work until I mastered them.
I am really looking forward to those shirts.

Heartfelt thanks Louis for these sneak peaks. It helps out SO much to figure out ahead what to budget for and what works with what. Talk about going the extra mile! And besides, your photos and styling are light-years better than those online at the Q.

I actually like taking the photos, though it is very time consuming. There are more to come if I can get them posted…….regards, Louis

I have the chartreuse on my shopping list. Love the design of this sweater. What would the length be when worn pulled straight? I’m one of your 3x ladies and think I can wear this sweater straight, but I also need enough length (I’m 5’9). If you can check the length of your sample, I can calculate from there. Thanks.

    1. louisdellolio

      Hello,
The XS is 24 1/2 inches. Hope this works for you…..the chartreuse is gorgeous.
      …………..regards, Louis

The design of this piece is truly wonderful. I have a full bust and a relatively small waist and love the buttons down the front and the delicate yet substantial bow–and…the sweater can be worn two ways. Oh, wait, the sleeve– I can see me placing the slightest shoulderpad for a bit of emphasis for me. The color chartreuse always makes me think of a song my mom used to sing..”Chartreuse, Chartreuse…you think you’re mighty cute….”. With this new sweater in chartreuse…yes, I will.

    1. louisdellolio

Dear marcia29……………I think a small shoulder pad will work out great for you…….regards, Louis

Louis, this reminds me of a Sonia Rykiel (sp?) sweater I got at Saks decades ago in a taupe/brown multi-shading. It was my favorite sweater until the moths got it.

I was not a “pink person” until your PP shade and now I crave it! And of course any shade of green must find a home with me. So that’s two of these sweaters that will be on my list and the black will probably join them! Love the WW cardigans I already have. — blinddogs

      Dear blinddogs,
I am happy to hear you are branching out from your “green” closet! I think a little p. pink will do the trick! LOL……….regar5ds, Louis

  7. Cathy

Thank you for the Sneak Peek, Louis. I have yet to try the whisper knits; this might just have to be my first 🙂 I think I could see the ivory sweater with my crinkled velvet skirts for a more casual look …

    Thanks again,

    Cathy in PA

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Cathy,
The only problem with the Whisper Knits is…….once you have tried one you will soon come addicted…….regards, Louis

  8. Carol

Is this sweater Whisper Knit or the acrylic/wool blend?

    Hoping for whisper knit….

    Thanks for the peeks.

You make it hard for us, Louis, wanting everything we see! Only the green is a color I can’t wear, so I’m in trouble again. Black for sure, and I will no doubt cave on at least one additional color. Am wearing the WW acrylic/wool cardi as I type. LOVE this style! As always, Barbara

  10. Mary

Step back girls, that Perfectly Pink sweater is mine! Louis, were you going to tell us about that brooch you so cleverly placed in our line of vision?

    1. louisdellolio

Dear Mary…….nothing sinister……it’s part of my collection….vintage AK

  11. Saphira

Thank you Louis, I am so in for the ivory and black. I love this look….
    Best,
    Barbara

  12. Rhoda

Okay the chartreuse is mine. What is the next sneak peak? Do you get the feeling we are like Pavlov’s dogs! What an analogy!! We truly appreciate this. Jac and you are two wonderful, wonderful people.

    1. louisdellolio

Everything is photographed but I have to dole them out slowly. I don’t want anyone to faint! LOL……….regards, Louis

  13. Sherry in KS

  15. MH-MN

Sir, I granted you leave to seduce me item by item, but now you send me reeling with lust for multiples … and make me wait until December. Sigh.

    1. louisdellolio

      MH-MN,
I must confess……no one, not even my wife has said I have left them reeling.
      THANK YOU SO MUCH!……regards, Louis

  16. Celia
