……………….Today, May 5th, is my sweetheart’s birthday……All of my life I looked for that special someone….and then I found Jac…..and my life began……Jac always told me she taught me how to love….and she was right…..We had a beautiful, wonderful life together….We were in sync about almost everything….our tastes were very much the same….except for food….Jac liked simple food, almost on the bland side…She could eat a whole head of steamed cauliflower with nothing on it for dinner, and that was it. My tastes were a little richer, actually a lot richer…give me a pizza or chocolate layer cake!…..We had many great fabulous years together building a home and a life…….and then she was gone….You can drive yourself crazy asking WHY?……but there is no answer….It’s hard for me to believe Jac has been gone for almost 8 years this December…..I miss her sweet face…those blue eyes….her blond hair…..her gentle soft voice…..I loved the way she moved….Jac was pure grace….I miss how much she loved me…. I talk to Jac everyday, and miss her more and more…….I know someday we will be together again……That will be the best day!…………..Happy Birthday my ANGEL!

…………………CITRUS GREEN…..was a strong and vibrant color…..great on brunettes, blonds and red heads!…….Gayle, to the right is wearing a citrus knit tank body suit with a silk draped front sarong skirt……and a Citrus Green CLOQUE puckered silk elongated blazer……The model to the right was wearing a silk A-line dress with a huge bow in the back…….Vogue chose the dress for a full page in COLOR!…….The jewelry was made out of faceted resin and glass beads, and fine gold chain. as in the BIB NECKLACE on Gayle….We tried all glass beads first, but couldn’t get the intense color…..so we went with resin mixed with glass which turned out great….The cluster bead earrings were lighter in weight mixed with the glass……..All worked out well!

……….Different shades of GREEN were the second group of colors for my Spring 1991 Spring AK collection…..Here the EMERALD GREEN wool crepe pieces…..a zip front jacket, with a Emerald knit short sleeve sweater on Gayle, and white wool crepe walking shorts……The gold door knocker earrings and the gold belt were made for me by my Jewelry licensee…….The model to the left was in my signature dress of the season….A sort of trapeze shape with short sleeves and a rounded neckline……It was a beautiful blue GREEN!

………………The print I designed for this color group was an abstract floral tropical print on SILK…..Once again I took large sheets of white paper and with special color inks I started to paint…..using the HOT PINK, the RED, and BLACK….with small areas of the white fabric untouched……I must have made 20 variations……Then I hung them on the wall and had my assistants vote….very democratic…..when it got down to 4 they voted again in  secret ballots which only I read….I was curious to see what they liked without influencing each other….then I selected the one I liked of the four. It was sent over to Italy with color swatches, and in a few weeks the printed trials came back…..and viola a TROPICAL PRINT! To the left is the silk lined topper coat over a sleeveless dress, and on Gayle to the right a draped front strapless SARONG DRESS….They added just the right touch of fantasy to the group.
