  …………………I am always up for a challenge!……………With the popularity of the CRINKLE GEORGETTE SAFARI SHIRT, A214117…..I challenged myself to come up with a version that many would wear year round……….The main focus was the fabric.  I had to find the perfect fabric…..a georgette that wasn’t see through, but was still light weight, and airy enough to wear during the warmer months……CHECK……..Then the shirt itself. The only change to the original design was the sleeve. Instead of the 3/4 roll-up sleeve with the tab…..I decided on a classic long sleeve with a buttoned shirt cuff. Every thing else is EXACTLY THE SAME. The same REAL SHELL BUTTONS WERE USED….The same POCKETS and FLAPS…..the same SIDE SLITS..The same FAUX DE CHINE TANK that comes with the Safari Shirt….down to the lingerie straps on the inside of the tank straps! Again, this can be worn completely open as a SHIRT JACKET, or buttoned up…..worn out or tucked in….whatever your preference. July is the season to start thinking about TRANSITIONING from one season into another. Does that mean summer is over….not for me, and not for you, but as we come to the end of July, when this will be offered, Aug. comes  and goes by very quickly. Sept is the time we think about clothes that have no season……clothes that are adaptable………………The color is………………SLATE…..and the style number is, A267863. There are many different ways to wear this Safari shirt, and you can achieve many looks  merely by changing the color you choose for your bottoms. White or a pale Khaki, Tan or Chino…silver gray for now, and later on….BLACK, NAVY or DARK GRAY, such as A255122, the CHARCOAL COTTON KNIT/SPAN CAPRI LEGGING….or the A260034 LINEA BODY LEGGING in the Dark Gray, which is coming back this fall. ……………………………..MARINE BLUE is a NEW color for my LINEA customers….both new and devotees…………..It is a smoky blue that is in the family, and is  similar to…… but not the same as my Cadet Blue……….a very sophisticate shade. The REAL SHELL BUTTONS are dyed to match as is the tank. This is a blue that looks great with WHITE, GREY, TAN, BLACK and NAVY…..such as my NAVY SLIM PANT, A265615, shown above. ……………………..The PERFECT IVORY SHIRT, A267863…………..As you can see in the photos the IVORY is not as opaque as the SLATE and the MARINE BLUE, but it is not nearly as sheer as the crinkle georgette…..so the Ivory tank is all you will need to feel comfortable………..This is definitely a shirt you can wear for the twelve months of the year………….Again, EFFORTLESS DRESSING is what this SAFARI SHIRT is all about. Pair it with a simple black skirt such as my BLACK MOSS CREPE SKIRT, A262454, and add my SIGNATURE necklace, J320468, and matching earring, J320884….this time in GOLD, and you are ready for the office, church, dinner etc. etc……Pair it with jeans and you can’t be more casual than that……..This is an ESSENTIAL piece. ………………….In this month of July and on into August I will be introducing a series of new necklaces…..each very different and for very different purposes. Many of you have already seen glimpses of them in previous sneak peeks. First to be delivered was the GOLD and SILVER NUGGET NECKLACES, which are already avail for ordering………..The next necklace I want to formally introduce to you is the…..DINGLE DANGLE NECKLACE, J325473. Dingle Dangle is a name I have given to it, but not the name you will see on the QVC site……A few seasons back I did a necklace called the Wind Chime….It had a single row of chain, and there were five vertical  rows of metal shapes in various shapes and sizes hanging from each other and from the chain…in a bib style…This necklace was an instant success and sold out….There were discussions on whether we should reorder it or not. In the end we decided to use the $$$$ for new pieces. This decision instantly made the Wind Chime Necklace and earring collectors pieces……I have seen original Anne Klein Couture jewelry that I did years ago become collector’s pieces and are now selling on ebay for hundreds of dollars……However, I have noticed that there are jewelry pieces that are being called AK Couture that are not. so always make sure it has the small  metal disc  stamped “Anne Klein Couture” attached……….This new necklace has two rows of chain from which hang a variety of metal shapes in different sizes………Oblong, Circle and Triangle shapes all with a SMOOTH WAVE surface . This undulating surface catches and reflects the light softly……There is a extender so you can wear the necklace very close to the neck, as it is in most of the photos, or drop it as it appears in the photos to the left…………..The color of the necklace is being called GOLD, but it is actually RUSSIAN GOLD. What is Russian Gold? As you know gold comes in many different karats…12, 14….18….24 etc etc. The smaller the number the lighter the color….so a 12 karat gold finish is a paler whiter yellow gold than a 14 or a 24 karat gold. Russian gold is closer to a 24 karat gold. It is deeper and warmer than then others. This is the first piece that I have done in this color gold, so this is a very special necklace. The pieces with the Linea finish….the Bold Hoop and the necklace with the double row of metal ball beads comes closest to Russian Gold… It happens to be the color gold I personally like the best, though I realize everyone has different tastes…….so I will continue to use both where I think the color gold is best suited. Even though the gold colors are different, you can easily mix your gold earrings with the Russian Gold. I have use the GOLD DEMI HOOP earring to coordinate with this necklace for a more refined subtle look. You can just as easily wear the BOLD HOOP for a more dramatic effect. For instance….if the BLACK WK MOCK NECK sweater above was a MIDI length dress or one that went all the way to the floor I would prefer the BOLD HOOP……Due to the fact that the necklace, because of the relatively flat shapes and the way they are placed on the chain, makes it very versatile. You can wear this necklace with many different tops. It even works beautifully with an open neck shirt…..The necklace fills the space perfectly without adding bulk……….I know when you receive the necklace you will quickly recognize the quality of the metal pieces and the chain…..the workmanship is SUPERB!…………I think it will become a “collector’s piece” in waiting…………………………….enjoy………………..much Love……………………..Louis
