Hello Louis!
I have no questions this time. This is only to inform you about how in love I am with the Pink Coat from your last visit. It is vintage with a modern flair. I am tall and the length is just right as a 3/4 coat. I can so see it with a black knee-length sheath dress and kitten heels a la Audrey H!!
Thank you.
Cris
and big black sunglasses!
I just received the wrap front top in violet and black. They fit as if they were made for me. I am so excited the sleeves reach my wrists. I am tall, and wear a 1x, and they are perfect. I really enjoy your designs. They make me feel great, which can be quite a feat when you wear a size considered outside the norm. Louis, you rock!
Dear Trish…….for our plus sizes we start with a 1x model. From there the sizes are graded…..so the closer you are to her in proportion the more exact the clothes will fit……….so happy to hear you are pleased with what you have received.
Good Morning Louis:
You stated that the reorder for the Mushroom WK turtleneck will be available sometime in December(Hopefully). Did QVC reorder any of the other colors at that time? No. 1 on my list (before it’s retired) is the Mallard Blue! Some colors & sizes are reappearing online since the (2)hour show – Hope to purchase some as gifts for my two sisters in the Midwest this Holiday Season. I betcha this time next year the WK T-Neck will have over 300 reviews? ! ! ! Thanks, Pamela
Dear Pamela,
As far as I know only the Mushroom had a rush reorder put through. Sometimes the factories schedules are so booked that they can’t disrupt the flow to squeeze another item in…..and sweater full fashion factories are worse. So I’m actually surprised they accepted the order.
The Linea Ladies on the Fashion Forum described the ‘Mushroom’ as a Grey Taupe with Mauve undertones – sounds like a very sophisticated color! I will be thrilled as well as my sisters with the ‘new’ Mushroom. I’ve already ordered the tonal knit pencil skirt – I love making sets of out your lovely quality knits – easy dressing & just My Style! Building my own collection to mix & match – what fun to create so many diff looks!
Thanks for your reply.
oops – I hit submit too fast. I’m not really Anonymous!
Louis – every piece of the fall line is terrific and now I have many of them! I began my Linea Collection only last spring and now the closet is full. Even though I am now retired, I still want to wear beautiful clothes and yours are perfect for a casual lifestyle with some more formal and Fashionista mixed in. Especially I want to tell you how thrilled I am with the pink coat. About 1960 (as a young teen) I had a gorgeous pale pink wool (spring then) coat. It was my first grown-up coat and I’ve wished for years that I had kept it. So now I have a new grown-up coat and love it just as much as the first! Many thanks. Sending wishes for your safety in the coming days and looking forward to all the new items.
Louis. I’m in love with that v neck lace top! That is the nicest lace I’ve ever seen outside a crazy expensive boutique or Saks! It’s soft and substantial and I love the large pattern. It is extremely flattering. I’d LOVE a dress in that fabric. Just make that top longer with an interesting hem. Would be killer!
Dear Louis,
Just reporting in. Got home from our long New Mexico trip on Monday, and left again 12 hours later to attend 2 funerals. In those 12 hours I unpacked my Linea birthday presents, and I am thrilled! Both HTC suits … LOVE, especially the Violet. Solid jackets in Violet and (OUT of my comfort zone …) TOPAZ are both gorgeous; wish I’d ordered the Teal … The Silver Lace Cardigan is all you said it would be, and the unsung heroes are the V Neck Lace Tops; so soft, rich and lovely … I think they’re the “sleepers” this time and if there were more colors, I’d buy every one! Tarragon Tweed is stunning fabric although the fit is somehow off for me; I love the fabric so will take it to the tailor for a bit of nips and tucks. Wore my grey animal print dress three times in the past two weeks, with the black brushed cottonr jacket; that’s another terrific dress, and I just ordered the Henna one too. Can’t wait to wear the new pieces.
And after two funerals, life’s joy is to be parked in Gettysburg for Halloween camping with our little grandson, who’s snugly asleep in his little camper bed … we’ve strung lots of spooky lights in the trees, carved giant jack-o-lanterns, and great mischief shall ensue for the weekend :). Then to dodge the bad weather home Sunday evening … stay safe and many thanks to you and Jac 🙂
Cathy IN PA
I mentioned this in an earlier message after your last show, but I think it got lost in cyber space. Just another compliment, but your clothes get attention: I was getting off the turnpike a few weeks ago wearing your belted grey and black zebra print jacket (it has white belt facing and under collar). The toll taker leaned from her window and said, “I LOVE your jacket.” First comment I have gotten from a turnpike attendant.
Did you not see my reply?
No, when I looked at this section neither my post nor your reply appeared. I thought that the site was being updated to get ready for the onslaught of comments that always follow your shows. No problem-wearing your designs is always fun. Today I wore the camel WK turtleneck under the aubergine kimono sleeve embroidered cardigan and a friend, from whom I buy grass fed beef, lamb and wonderful organic vegetables, loved my sweater. She knows good stuff. I have always enjoyed putting outfits together and I am finding that it’s even better since I started buying your line. As luck would have it, everything that I have bought in the past three years has fit perfectly. I am looking forward to wearing the topaz jacket and turtleneck. What a luscious color.
I said in my reply that it would make a great TV commercial:
Scene 1: hassled working mother getting her husband out the door and her kids off to school….with no time to care for herself…..grabbing a jacket and heading out the door
Scene 2: seeing her look in her car rear view mirror adjusting her hair and putting on lipstick.
Scene 3: at the toll booth looking pulled together….getting the compliment and sighing with relief that she can start her day feeling confident
Scene: her driving off in a sport car.
What fun! That’s really a good one.
I was gone during your recent show. However, I did DVR it and just watched it. Great show!!! I was so glad Jill was the hostess. She always brings more to a show, as several other hostesses do too.You deserve the best. And of course, your new clothes were fantastic!! So glad I was still able to order several items. Thanks for bringing us quality and style!!! See you in November!
Louis, could you please re-post the pictures of the new enamel station necklace? The pics on the Q page aren’t very helpful. Thank you.
Will do
Dear Louis, will we be seeing a Linea motorcycle jacket (in a non-leather material) soon? Also, can we hope for a safari vest? Thx.
Not yet……these things take time. I work so far in advance do to production schedules that when requests are made it takes a least a yer or more to get them into the plan and that’s if the buyers like them?
Hi Louis,
Will there be earrings coming in your new jet jewelry???
Also, will we be getting the fish jewelry???
Thanks!
Carol
Dear Carol……..no and yes……as I always say “men make plans and God laughs”. There was an earring for the jet jewelry planned, bought and on it’s way. The entire shipment of earrings was damaged. I didn’t even bother to ask what happened? At this point what difference does it make. Everyone is so disappointed. It is impossible to remake and still have them for this year…..so hopefully we can get them redone for a future date.I haven’t even discussed this with my buyers. I only found out about this yesterday.
As for the “School Of Fish”……..I just saw the samples yesterday, and they are FABULOUS!!!!! They haven’t been bought yet as they JUST arrived, but they will be a part of the spring plan. There is the large fish pendant, the fish earrings, that are so cute, and the fish bone bracelet…..all in the Linea Gold.
Hi Louis,
I sorry to hear about the jet earrings. I was looking forward to purchasing them, but hopefully they can be reordered for next year. As for the “school of fish”, I am thrilled! They have been on my mind since you first showed them–fantastic news!
I wanted to let you know that I just received the herringbone brushed boucle jacket (A229475) in teal. It is the most gorgeous jacket–perfect in every way. I love the subtle herringbone pattern, the wonderful fit with the front seaming, the soft fabric, the length is perfect, the workmanship top notch, and the design just suits me to a T. I was so excited when I tried it on that I had to let you know how pleased I am. Living in Florida with our limited cold days I almost didn’t order this jacket. I am so glad that I did. It’s that special for our cooler season.
Will there be a v-neck whisper knit sweater in teal to match this beautiful jacket?
Thank you, Louis. You’re the best!
Carol
Oh. my. gosh. Finally the fish pendant, fish earrings, and a fish bone bracelet too? Be still my heart!!!!!
Exciting news! Hope those QVC buyers add to the Linea jewelry line. I’m an avid collector of Fish jewelry – Gold would be great to mix with my carved fossilized Ivory pieces! Fingers X’d!
Hi Louis, great show…it was so hard not being able to order anything, but great fun watching all the beautiful clothes and the styling and effort that went into the show. My question is…will you be showing sneak peaks of the WK sweaters to come in Nov, and if not will you list the item numbers for us? Thank you for all the hard work, it is appreciated.
Yes I will have sneak peaks of everything coming in Nov……starting this weekend
any styles in fuschia or red -the turtleneck colours?[fingers crossed]
Hi, Louis! I just ordered my long-awaited enamel station necklace in black. (J271861). But you might want to take a look at the QVC listing. In the pictures, only the colors of the beads show up while the enamel stations appear to be black. Also, in the written descriptions, the beads are said to be the color without mention of the color of the stations. Unless a purchaser has seen the pictures on your blog, he/she won’t have an accurate sense of the actual necklace. As always, Barbara
Hi Barbara….I will look into it.
Louis I am so sorry but the Pink coat was far to grey for me, so I have to return it . When you are older we need color for our faces to light up. I have a Burberry cashmere scarf in the pinks and winter white that I wanted this coat for but that looked wrong too. Maybe next year you could make a real pink and winter white wool coat for us ladies. We need light weight not heavy big coats. I like a dress coat and your the man to make us ladies again.
Louis-
I have been looking for a black “dress coat” for 2 years and I finally found the perfect one- yours! It is perfect! I usually take an Xl in tops but ordered the
1X in this. I was worried about the fit but it is just perfect in every way.
I’m 62 years old now and I love a good coat. As a child I had relatives who worked in coat factories in NYC Garment district. My family didn’t have much but the ladies had some great coats! Yours reminds me of those coats. I can’t afford to spend a lot of money on a coat now but I sure look like I did with this one. I wish I had gone out of my comfort zone and got the pink- I bet it’s beautiful.
Dear Patricia….what a great note…..I am so pleased this is THE COAT for you!!!
On the last show you mentioned pearl earrings are coming– can you tell us what colors or in what style?
Thanks for a fantastic program!
Regards,
Chris
There will be a simple pearl pierced or clip on stud…..the same size as the pearl 72 long inch necklace. I am trying to do a three pack that will encompass ALL of the Linea colors in three or four packs.
Yesssss!!!! (pumping fist in air) Louis, that will be just perfect!
That is great!! I can’t wait to see them.
Hi, Louis. What about a Q “Buy More, Save More” with $3 off the second or more pair of earrings all in the same order. That way the customer can assemble her own 3 or more pack with the exact colors she wants. It’s a thought.
Hi Louis,
I know you’ve said that a Jet/Gunmetal and crystal beads necklace is coming in November. Will there be a SOLID BLACK jet necklace?
I know we’ve seen some in the sneak peeks and also on the shows, but I’m not sure if these are your own vintage necklaces or are they sneak peeks of what’s to come.
Jane
On the same subject, do we know what the item numbers are for the new jet jewelry? That way we can order when it is posted.
Thanks
crdlb
I don’t know the J numbers off hand but I will find out and give everyone a sneak peek photo before hand. There will be a necklace, bracelet and broach.
squeal!
The solid black are Vintage, but I am working on some real beauties for next year.
I have been waiting for those! Patience is a necessary virtue in Linea Land.
I was hoping you would say something along those lines!
Hi, Just letting everyone know that the enamel station necklace is available. It is J271861 in black, olive and wine.
Louis, I don’t know where my question went. I wanted to know if the scraf inspired sweater in the purple goes with the new purple knit skirt? I was looking to add to my collection. BTW, i love love love the topaz color. Thankyou
Hi Nikki…..never saw your question. Checked the two pieces together just to make sure and yes the two do work together. The skirt is a little more vivid but the colors are very similar…..I would recommend, black boots to balance the top. and a black turtle or mock neck sweater.
My topaz blazer arrived today. Wow! The color is wonderful and it is the buy of the season. Louis, what do you have in the pipeline that will go with it. Thank you for this great piece.
Dear NY karan……….there is nothing specifically, like a print that was done to coordinate, but I like layering WK sweaters under it…..for instance the new Ivory jewel neck short sleeve sweater with the new Black cardigan that are both coming in Nov. I think adding a jewel color is the fun way to wear it.Check out the hounds tooth skirt Video and duplicate that look with the topaz…..Black/Ivory HTC skirt with the sweaters mentioned above and the topaz jacket. Some fab long black jet beads would look great….or amber. Also, the feather print blouse in the mushroom looks wonderful under the topaz for a softer look.
Louis,
If you continue selling your beautiful clothes and jewelry on QVC, I will be forced to build a large Linea closet! I am not a new customer and have been purchasing from your line for many years. In fact, I am now trying to limit my purchases, but it is still adding up. I told myself I wouldn’t get the scarf top and ordered it in chili pepper. I can’t count the number of times I’ve worn it already. I wasn’t going to get the houndstooth blazer either but decided it would be ideal for a stylish outerwear jacket here in the South. ( And I might even be able to wear it Sunday as the temperatures are going to drop.) It seems the items I’m on the fence about turn out to be my favorites. I didn’t hesitate on the flecked tank and it is a true workhorse in my wardrobe. Thank you so much for all the exquisite designs you bring to us.
Dear Jana…..it seems to me you are zoning in on some fabulous pieces that you know will work for you. I think you may be in trouble………wait till you see what’s coming in the next few months!
Hello Louis,
I am having fun trying on all my new clothes, and looking to add. I was wondering if the scarf inspired cardigan in the purple work with the new knit boot skirt in purple? i was looking for cardigan options with that skirt as i missed out on the matching jacket. Got the topaz though and love love love it.thanks
Louis, I just bought a vintage Linea on eBay. It is a brown cocoon sweater with black banding and black buttons, fully lined! Now I have been searching over the years for a lined sweater coat and while this is a jacket, it’s fabulous! I hope someday, maybe, you may do a longer sweater fully lined, again.:). I’m guessing this was done in 2007 from the reviews of A73525. It will have a good home.
Louis, I noticed a new swatch/color choice appearing on the product page for the tweed blazer. It says “wheat”. Currently all sizes for that third color are showing sold out, but in hopes that it is simply a matter of them loading it into the system, I thought I would check here. Is the tweed blazer going to come available in another color? If so…yipee!
Thanks,
Deborah
Dear Deborah…..haven’t got a clue what that is???? Don’t despair….you will have sooooo many goodies to chose from in the coming months your head will spin!
Wow, must have been a great show, skipped because of Jill the host. Will catch the next time around.
I made a comment about my items and it was posted and then removed……. what is up with that??????
Look under “Canceled Show”. I see a post from you over there?
Thanks Deb….. Mystery solved……
Just a random question, Louis, but is your new topaz color similar to the background color on this site? I realize there are gradations in the sun’s rays that surround your face, but, broadly speaking, does your new topaz appear in that background color?
Broadly speaking….yes
Hi Louis
I waited so long to get your coat – the package arrived today and there was a horrible jacket in the bag from another vendor and no coat.
And QVC says, so sorry, someone else got your coat and there’s no way for them to track this. And now the coat is wait listed.
I am so disappointed – don’t know why I am writing this. I hope it comes back into stock before the winter is over.
I was going to wear it to a wedding next weekend 🙁
Dear Ri…..I just don’t understand how these switches can be made. Someone received a very nice coat and I’m sure her purchase was no where near the price.
All I can say without being too snarky is the garment I received was clearly not designed by you.
Dear Ri: Here’s the kicker, if the jacket you received is cheaper than the coat, than the person with the coat will never be charged correctly. Happened to me and I screamed at QVC who gave me full reimbursement for my item and sent a UPS truck to my house to pick up the junk. Good luck.
Ri: I didn’t really scream, just called Mike George’s office and spoke with one of his many secretaries who took care of it – she was very apologetic.
Hi Toni
I am going to call back today – the rep on the phone last night wasn’t very helpful.
I am fairly certain I have cleared up the account issues; all I want is my coat and it seems they are unable to put me at the “top of the list”.
Hopefully an honest person will return my coat but QVC has indicated there’s no way it is coming to me.
Thanks for the note…
Louis, I just wrote nine 5-star reviews on QVC, and I was happy to do it after receiving such a beautiful Linea fall collection. Everything fits perfectly in the small, no need to resize anything. Really great! Beautiful fabrics, great classic styles, and well made. Thank you for your attention to all the details to make this quality line. It really shows.
Jean…..TWO THUMBS UP!!!
The tanks are perfect– great for underneath other pieces or on their own in the summer. I will now go order a lace cardigan.
Thanks for the great designs.
I said those tanks were going to be the sleeper item, I guess they weren’t so “sleepy”…….. they are almost gone
Dear Louis: Huge thanks for: both HTC jackets – exquisite; the teal jacket, skirt and drape front top – (that’s a wow I had not thought of loving – that drape front top); the violet jacket skirt and drape fron top – both total WOW’s! The ivory pants – with a pant liner – perfect – except I’ll be shortening the leg about 2 1/2 inches. No biggie. Still waiting for the HTC skirts. I sized up in the black coat which allows me to wear over jackets and it works fine. I live in very cold New England so that works for me. Beautiful job on the coat! I think it’s pretty remarkable that among so many pieces ~ no returns. I’ve come to trust in your good advice, quality of the items, fit and fabrication. Your fantastic pictures and descriptions here as well as your readiness to answer our burning questions makes the whole choosing and purchasing process SO MUCH EASIER! Thank you! Thank you! Forgot to mention those beautiful velvet skirts I purchased before the show. Just gorgeous in tarragon and walnut!
Dear Nancy….you have no idea how happy your message makes me. It is so gratifying to know all the hard work that has gone into these garments by so MANY
Wasn’5t for naught……I will forward your note to my manufacture and all….they will be delighted!
Well Louis you outdid yourself this month. The blazers and the colors are fabulous. The fit is perfect and very flattering for my plus size body. The color they say is violet is purple and I love it. I’m thinking I should have ordered the herringbone purple skirt to go with it. I would imagine the velvet skirt in black has purple in it would go too. I also received the black coat and I love the fit and fabric for all seasons, so now I am waiting for the pink. Remember pastels for the future. Many years ago I had a pink wool coat or winter white wool coat is good too. Thank-you Louis for this months clothing, your not getting older your getting better and your creativity is soaring. Now I’m waiting for that new black and ivory tunic sweater next month. I love those sneak peeks.
Sharon…..again, I am delighted to0 here that everyone is getting there things so quickly and I am even happier that, so far, no one is disappointed! I was go8ing to do the coat in winter white also, but the fabric mill couldn’t get it “clean” enough. If kept looking like a dirty pale gray. All I can say is hold on to your hat….WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE WHAT’S COMING IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS!
Dear Louis, any news yet whether the spring lace jacket with linen trim will return in additional colors next year? It’s one of my top 3 all-time favorite Linea pieces.
I don’t think so…..It was one of my favorite too, but if I haven’t heard by now I seriously doubt that it will be reordered.
Louis
Will the WK turtlenecks be reordered? There are only two colours available on waitlist in my size , XL and not one of them is black!
They will but not for this year.
The HTC items arrived today– great weight to the fabric and love the skirts. I will shorten them about 2 inches (too long for my height). Tomorrow the magenta and olive tanks arrive.
I would love some striped tops too.
Mo9rning Chris………Happy to hear you are pleased with the HTC. Please don’t forget to leave your comments on the site and the Fashion Forum. The women want to know.
Now that I have my new closet populated and organized it is glaringly obvious where I have color ‘holes’. For winter, there are no pastel winter jackets or whisper knit sweaters, other than a tiny corner of perfectly pink. I would love to see some pale blues, lilacs, mint greens, aquas – those sherbet colors.
I also still long for a coat that is sporty, with a hood that is concealed, not too heavy, one that works from fall to spring and during the winter with layers.
Also, have you considered stripes in our beloved whisper knit – or any other kind of pattern?
Hi Susan……I have taken note of your suggestions…as for the WK in stripes. I am not sure we can do this particular yarn in stripes, but there are many stripes coming. You are going to hear a lot about stripes in the coming months as they are a very strong trend.
Hi Louis
My coat shipped over the weekend – should be here any day now.
I cannot wait though it’s still hovering around 70 degrees in CT so will have to wait to wear it.
I echo the comments about Jill – she is one of the few hosts that can discuss any product – she is educated.
Louis, Will the new magenta shell (companion piece to the lace cardi) work with the eggplant pearl trimmed suit from a couple of years ago? I was able to find a shell in that navy/eggplant but would love a brighter option. Thanks!
Dear Donna, I no longer have that sample and I can not find the swatch. Do you remember what year that jacket was?
Louis, I purchased it toward the end of 2009 (item # A94749). I pulled up the pictures and if it is not exact, it would likely be very close.
I didn’t have any luck finding the swatch….sorry.The tank is a great color anyway.
Bonjour Louis!
Loved your show last week and wanted to express my appreciation for the preparation that went into it. Each outfit was styled to perfection and that doesn’t happen without out careful planning. The models, of course, did a fabulous job executing your plans. I ordered many things and can’t wait to add them to my wardrobe. Many, many thanks!
Just want to mention, Louis, that I particularly enjoy your shows when you’re working with Jill. She does a great job at pointing out details, and asks intelligent questions. Would love to see her do more shows with you.
Louis, I don’t know if anything will come from my efforts, but I took your suggestion about going directly to Qvc with a request for your pants in Tall. I am new to this type of communication, but made a suggestion in the Suggestion Box category, then started a discussion both in “Linea” and in Fashionn Talk. Hopefully, if there is something else that can be done to further this effort one of the veteran Linea posters will give me suggestions. I do not expect to “shrink” in height ( width is perhaps a possibility 🙂 ) so I will continue to make requests. If the opportunity presents itself, I know you will do your best for your tall fans. Best wishes, MM
Louis,
I know you’ve already heard this many times now, but I just have to chime in. I was glued to my TV on Friday afternoon. This was one of your best shows EVER! I was taking notes the entire show. I adore the new Topaz color. I was pleasantly surprised by the various combinations of violet, purple, black and fuchsia and purchased a few more items than I had planned in these colors. I was out and about yesterday in my bright orange double-breasted jacket and received countless compliments. It was our anniversary weekend and I wore the featherprint skirt, blouse and plaid blazer for dinner, and again compliments galore. Thank you so much for all you do to help us look so put together. It is a joy to know you and purchase your clothing. Thanks to Jac and the models and all the backstage crew for a marvelous job! BRAVO!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!
Hi Louis-
Your shows are always excellent, but this time you topped yourself! The clothing, the presentations, the accesories, the professionalism of all concerned, and of course the sharing of your expertise, made the show fly by!
I ordered many items ahead of the show, but as always, picked up a few more beautiful items.
I’m hoping for your advice on the “silver” lace cardigan. I was thinking of wearing it with the black cash./silk Tneck and the crinkle silver skirt from last year to a
festive holiday social occassion in Manhattan this Dec. Do you think the skirt is appropriate with the cardigan, or would a black skirt (either the velvet or pencil skirt)look better? I don’t want the silver crinkle skirt to “fight” for attention with the lace top.
There are not enough words to thank you for all that you do for us.
Judi
Dear Judi,
I tried the three pieces together and they are FABULOUS together. All three ways you have suggested will look good, but the gunmetal skirt is definitely more festive and the lace over the black really pulls it together. My second choice would be the velvet…..not the the plain pencil wouldn’t look good too, but the others are definitely more special. My new jet/gunmetal beads, earrings and bracelet will be at the Q this Nov and will be perfect with those pieces. Do you have any black jet beads? Are you planning on belting it the way Angela had it in the show, tied like Maria, wrapped like Kate or loose?
If you wear the Black TN, I would suggest black suede boots……heel height is up to you. I want a picture!!!
Thank you so much for your expert input, I appreciate it!
I wanted to wear the gunmental skirt, but since the lace top is in process of being delivered I couldn’t get a good feel for it (I always love to plan outfits!).
I hope to wrap it the way Kate had it, we’ll see if my waistline allows!
I’ll be adding your jet/gunmetal beads. In additon, several years ago I made a long triple strand of jet beads.
I love your idea of black suede boots. I have a Joan & David pair with 2 small gunmetal grommets at the cuff (how coincidental is that?). I was going to look for gunmetal shoes, but boots will be so much more comfortable!!
Thank you!!!
Judi
Gunmetal!
Thanks for asking the question, Judi! I was going to ask that same question before I ordered but went ahead and ordered anyway. I am also eager to try it with my black crushed velvet boho from several seasons back. But also have both black velvet jeans and pants as well as the black pants that go with the embroidered kimono jacket for warmer weather. Can’t wait to get mine!!!
Louis,
I was on the road for work and missed the show but fortunately was able to order my haul that morning before I left. So glad I able to get the hounds tooth suit, the coat, and the topaz and teal jackets to go with the turtlenecks I already have at home. From the videos it looks like it was a great show. Everyone did a good job pulling it off…you, Jill, the models and all the behind the scenes folks. Thank you for such a great show!
Julia/Qulia
Hi Louis,
I had written earlier about your gold link necklaces and chunky necklaces. I checked back on my tape and I was referring to the topaz t neck and matching herringbone jacket that Jac was wearing with the jewelry in question, not the houndstooth. Are those vintage as well? Thank you.
Actually one is vintage that I am trying to have reproduced and the other is a new Linea sample that has not been purchased……yet.
WoW – Louis, the (2) hour show was AWESOME!
After a long day’s work & one hour yoga, me & my favorite lady friends sent our men folk off to play hockey in order to enjoy cheese fondue, gravlax & wine while enjoying the tape of your show! It truly was your best show yet!…. (14) NEW items – just incredible! Thank you & BRAVO to ALL those who made it possible. I SO look forward to my ‘new’ purchases – Never have I been so excited about the expansion of my Linea wardrobe & walking out my front door towards my “Own” runway of Life! Thank you so much for ALL you do. You are not only an incredible fashion designer, but a wonderful, kind & generous human being….sincerely, Pamela
p.s. I’m a blonde who adores Orange – anxious for that wonderful Topaz! Keep playing with your box of distinct crayons – color & texture is what it’s all about!
And that’s Sincerely with a Capital “S”!
Dear Louis: The boot skirt you showed on Friday, I clicked on measurements and also on the TV it listed, 1X, 25″ – is that right? Does one have to have a 25″ hip measurement?
I’m not sure 100 percent sure, but I think that’s the half……50 inches.
Thank you.
Louis, I have a question you talked about in the past but I couldnt get to the answer. How do I iron my turtle neck collar to loosen up the neck? Love, love, love, all your WK and have 2 drawers full but I get too warm with the tight neck, I would like to loosen it up. Please reply when you get a chance. Thank you and keep bringing us the lovely clothes. p.s. please bring back more aubergine, Im addicted to it, it looks so good on me!!!! lol Little D
Dear Diane,
It was some of the ladies who were discussing how to stretch out the collar , not me. I have no advise on that since I personally have never done it. Maybe one of the ladies who have successfully done it can advise you.
Dear Louis,
Oh my goodness what a beautiful show! I ordered your houndtooth, velvet and teal sets early as I am XS or XXS and QVC never orders enough of those sizes. Speaking of which will either you WK pants or the tweed blazer from the previous show be coming back? I missed the black pants in XXS and also the Walnut tweed blazer in XXS as they sold out before the show. This time I managed to get the topaz blazer but the topaz turtlneck was sold out in both sizes. I have been stalking to see if any pop back but so far no luck. I love your line, most of my closet is made up of your designs and has been for several years.
Dear Pepper…on the average it takes 4 months for QVC to decide if a garment is eligible for reorder. They have to wait to see what the percentage of returns is first. So I do not know if they will be reordered or not, and I won’t know for some time.
Dear Louis,
I would like to add my kudos to you as the other LLL have previously said. I watch QVC, but when I worked (just recently retired) I usually missed your appearances. I rarely ordered any clothes from QVC. This all changed when I caught the end of your September show and immersed myself on QVC”s Linea website and then found this site as well. I ordered some items from the previous show (not yet received) and then yesterday morning ordered more based on your sneak peeks. And of course, after the show I went back and ordered more. As your other fans have stated, your attention to dressmaker details, along with style, sophistication, glamour is fantastic. To think that we can enjoy all these beautiful clothes at such an affordable price from a TV shopping channel is unheard of. I love your exquisite jewelry as well. Can you tell me if any of the thick gold chains and chunky necklaces shown yesterday will be available soon or are they vintage? I have been on waitlist for your gold knot necklaces for a while. I can’t wait to receive your Byzantine earrings which I ordered yesterday with the other clothes. As I mentioned earlier, I am recently retired (from a very upscale jewelry firm that has a weakness for blue boxes!) Your fashion jewelry is all I want from now on. It is chic and elegant and works so well with all your clothing. You are truly blessed with so much talent. I feel like a groupie. You are my favorite rock star!!. Thank you.
Dear Bcm….thank you for your kind words. If you are referring to the gold chain necklaces my wife Jac wore with the black s/s crew neck sweater and the black/ivory HTC skirt….the are vintage Linea and are no longer available. The only thing left is the bracelet……”little blue boxes” are very pretty.
Hi Louis…..I was interested in your sneak peek of the new cardigan which looks like a longer length(love!) When should I look for it to appear on the Q site for sale and when will it be in a show. Thanks much in advance. carol
Dear Carol,
I will be having two cardigans……the Kimono and the classic V-neck cardigan. The classic V-neck is EXACTLY the same as the one I had last year in the black, Olive and Aubergine. Everyone wanted it so badly, I convinced them to do it again, but it has to have a new A number.
Dear Louis,
I loved the show! and I am waiting so anxiously for my coat, houndstooth items, the topaz herringbone boucle blazer and more. Now I wish I had gotten the violet blazer too! But alas. I was wondering if the deep plum ribbed crew neck shell go with the violet houndstooth skirt? There was also a ribbed shell in violet, so I am wondering which one is better. Also, Brenda was wearing the spruce knit skirt and violet drape front top…were her violet tights made by Hue? I have fallen head over heels for purple…I wore the purple t-neck while I was working at our church pumpkin sale last weekend, and people just kept saying how much they loved the color. So, which ribbed shell, and which brand of purple tights?
Louis,
Are the goldtone love knot necklaces and cross necklaces being reordered? They have been sold out for a long time but are on waitlist status-
I honestly don’t know…..I’ll check. I know the Byzantine station necklace is coming in by the end of the year, but that’s to fill wait list and maybe a few extra.
Hi Celia…A210360, the ballet neck Waist W sweater is a better match to the Violet HTC. I will also have 3 or 4 new WK sweaters coming in Nov. that re a dead on match….some were sneak peeks. I usually do get HUE because they USUALLY have good colors, but this year they were showing a lot of BRIGHT colors….they are not easy colors to wear unless you are in all black or just happen to have a matching sweater. The tights Brena was wearing are from TARGET. When we were at QVC fore the Sept show we had some time to kill and Jac wanted to get a DVD so we stopped there. They had a section of some interesting colors and I always pick things up for color….it was dumb luck. They are this season.
Target! It reminds me of the time your told a customer that you found some of your fashion color sunglasses at a gas station on the turnpike! I found some sunglasses with white frames and some with red frames in a gift shop when I was on the pier in the Outer banks this summer. You never know!
Thanks for all the info- I look forward to the new W/K sweaters-
Celia
Louis, such a wonderful show. I had to watch it at work so I had lots of interruptions during the broadcast. I think the others at work were enjoying quick glimpses and that’s why they kept stopping to ask questions at my desk. I bought the houndstooth jacket and, of course, being a plus-size pencil skirt fan – the houndstooth skirt. I have a question that I hope you can help me with. I really love the faux shearling jacket you have coming in November. The photo of it in the Insider magazine looks shorter, but that could just be the proportions/height of the model. Could you tell me what the length will be for that jacket? I had posted the question earlier, but it seems to have scrolled off this thread. So, please excuse if this is a duplication and you’ve already answered this… I didn’t get to read the answer before the post was gone. Thanks, Deborah
Hi Deborah…..So glad you enjoyed the show….The jacket you are speaking of measures approx. 26 ” for the XS size. They are generally graded 1/2 ” longer pr size….so if that holds true for this jacket the 1X should be 2 ” longer.
Louis,
I would like to echo the sentiments of the other LLL’s (Lovely Linea Ladies)regarding your show yesterday. It was one of the most beautiful you have presented. Each item you brought to us could stand on its own merit, but paired with your other items – both new and old – reiterates the pure genius of your design style. With the horrific heat and drought of our summer now over, and the cooler temperatures upon us, I think these beautiful rich colors are even more appealing. We will have to ‘hurry up and wait’ for our deliveries and the excitement of the new Whisper Knit pieces next month. Many thanks for ALL you do for us.
Dear Rae…..it truly is my pleasure. There was a move, actually a remake of a move with Susan Haywood called “Back Street”. and her nane was Rae, but she wrote it will all small letters….”rae”….she thought it was very chic to write it that way……funny things we remember.
Louis,
HOW funny you should mention that! Actually, my sign in name for many websites and forums IS rae smith….taken from one of my most favorite movies, ‘Back Street’!!! (Rae is my middle name.) I know there are several versions of that movie, but the one with Susan Hayward and John Gavin is the best. Typically I do use all lower case letters, and realized I had used a capital R after I hit the submit button. I, too, think it is very chic! My name may not be chic, but wearing your garments make me feel chic.
rae
rae IS a very chic name!
Great show, Louis.
Are there more topaz-colored items coming?
As of now…No….everyone, but me, was afraid of the Topaz….so if it proves to be a successful color [low returns] I will repeat it in something.
What a beautiful show. It is such a privelge to watch your collection. Like many, I have never been to a designer runway show. I felt like I was part of one yesterday. And it is wonderful that I can afford it. Thankyou for all your talent and the effort you put in. I look forward to all my purchases ( the jackets, the skirts and the tops for a column look in the 3 colors) Absolutely love it
Dear Nikki…..A lot of work goes into putting that complicated a show on, and with very little help, but those that do help are excellent at what they do. The unsung heros are the back stage people, and the models deserve a huge BRAVO….that was a very difficult show. In regular runway shows you have on the average of anywhere between 28 and 36 models….and sometimes more, and each model has one to two dressers helping them. The QVC models do it all themselves including hanging up the clothes they are wearing. Of course, I make it 100 times more difficult with the stockings, layers, and accessories…so I am very happy everyone appreciates the effort we all make to present the clothes to all of you in the best possible way.
Yes, I do appreciate all the extra work you (and everyone at QVC) put into the shows as far as showing the individual items in layers, different combination of colors, prints, size of model, with jewelry, with previewed items, extra tips and ideas, etc. It really comes across to the viewer. In my opinion, it makes your shows much more of “An Event” that I’ll make that extra effort to see live. Great!
Good morning, Louis,
Great show! The clothes were all spectacular. Even though we had seen the sneak peeks for the blazer, I couldn’t believe how beautifully saturated the colors were when I saw them on the show — just fabulous. Teal and topaz are on their way to me! Also got the lace cardigan in magenta and silver — as you said, such collectible pieces.
This time around the ordering wasn’t so frenzied and it was really enjoyable. Thought Jill was great with you.
Overall, a very nice show with fabulous clothes!
Looking forward to the kimono cardigan in colors ………hint, hint!
Thanks for all you do.
Jane
Dear Jane…..I’m glad you liked Jill working with me. I think she’s terrific on many levels. She’s smart, she’s serious, she does her homework and she truly loves the clothes. There is no silliness with Jill……but she has a good sense of humor and she’s quick…..very little goes over her head! After the show she had to run an see her son play in a ball game………..back to reality.
Jill does a great job- I thought she was going to croak when the coat sold out, and I don’t blame her after seeing how much she loved it!
What a great show…… I ordered my jackets in the wee hours and added 2 other items later in the day. I received the beads in bronze and was so pleased that I ordered the other color called black. I am amazed at how well they go together. I have worn the first beads twice with another co-ordinating necklace that I have. I love to play the new with the old. I love the black beads with the animal print dress in deep red and black….. the one with the pleat in the front….. Sensational….. Thanks again for all your efforts……
Hi, Louis. Your two-hour show was very impressive, and I see that we just about cleaned you out on many items. I bought everything I had planned to buy from the previews first thing in the morning to make sure I got my size. Then I ended up getting three more things when I watched the show. So I’m set. Still, I’ll be watching on October 30. I’m looking forward to receiving my new Linea fall wardrobe soon!!!
You said you have a few limited and scattered appearances on QVC lined up next. You’ll have to let us know when they are. Thank you.
Dear Jean,
As of now the dates and times for Nov. are:
1- 11/16 at 6am with Pat and Jane
2- 11/17, sat. morning with Leah
3- 11/19, 7pm, PM STYLE with Lisa
These are tentative dates, they are not confirmed yet, but they will probably stand.
Louis you outdid yourself today. What a pleasure to watch your show and see the outfits I am going to be able to create using the pieces that I purchased. Also loved the sneak peeks of the sweaters. Tell QVC we must have the purple/fuschia combo of the beaded necklace and earrings. We’re yelling at the TV every time one of the models shows up in that set!
We love what you and Jac bring to us each month. Thank you so very much for your generosity with your time and creativity.

Thank you Carol…..Music to my ears…..I know ZI was pleased and excited to bring the clothes to all of you…..but you never know for sure what the reaction will be………..regards, Louis
Louis,
Thank you for a FABULOUS fashion show! Your shows are a dream to watch – and are the only ones I watch from any shopping channel! The way you style the models is simply amazing. I ‘discovered’ you when I worked in the U.S. and lived in New Jersey. I have many of your pieces – added 4 more this afternoon! The quality and value of your products – both clothing and jewellery – is phenomenal. You are by far the best Designer they have ever had in their portfolio.
I greatly appreciate your ‘sneak peeks’ – because of them, I am able to get my orders in early and then enjoy watching the show.
Again, Louis and Jac, thank you for all you do for your Customers.
Sincerely,
Seka.
Today I was away from home, but I ordered the topaz jacket before I left. It was cool in western PA this morning, so I wore your grey and black zebra print jacket (from a few years ago) over the ivory WK turtleneck and grey jeans. When I came to the toll booth on the turnpike the attendant leaned out of her window and called, “I LOVE your jacket!” The first response to my clothing I ever had from a toll collector.
Dear Gail….that’s a great story……….what a fabulous TV commercial that would make……House wife/working woman hassled in the morning getting the kids and husband off, then jumping in the car, checking herself out in the mirror. fingering some flyaway hairs….cut to the high way and the toll both…the comment brings a big smile to her face and a sigh of calm…….can’t beat reality!
What a show! I had ordered everything ahead of time.. but just could not resist the long pleated skirt in teal and the black coat and the lace v neck.
Such beautiful colors in everything!
I would have been happy just to watch you and the models working so hard..you put such thought and effort into each outfit.
Thank you for the wonderful clothes!
Have a quiet weekend after this.. you and Jac deserve it!
All the models deserve a huge present…..they all love doing my show, but it is a work out! Jac said this was the hardest show she has EVER done!!! Some of the items sold so quickly that they cut the sell time, which means the girls have less time to get changed. Jac said things were flying back stage!!
Dear Nancy…..NO REST for the WEARY! I have meetings for Spring Apparel and Fall jewelry early next week so I have lots to prepare before then. Soooooo glad you liked the show.
Loved your show today! I just wrote in the Linea section of the QVC Community Blog that I believe your shows get progressively better. You are the master at capturing the right balance between classic and trendy. Your fashions and unerring good taste make my head spin. Bravissimo!
Dear Maria, thank you so much……..I think good taste is in your DNA, but it gets cultivated honed through life experiences….if you open and expose yourself with the right things anyone can develop a certain taste level. There is just so much bad taste out there parading as good taste and trendy that many fall prey to it. because they are EXPOSED to the hype. Most can tell the difference between a “silk purse and a sows ear”.
