This section is dedicated to and for anyone who would like to post a question or comment on anything so I may give some feedback and hopefully help in anyway possible. Please make sure all comments and questions are done courteously in respect of not only myself but all who view this blog.
Louis,
In reviewing your blog I see where we are all requesting more and more. We just can’t get enough. Your designs are like “potato chips” — I can’t have just one…or just two…or even just three…LOL! We want more and more of your designs. Let me say how much we appreciate all you do for us, with not only the beautiful clothes and accessories, but also this blog with your sneak peeks and your willingness to converse with us. It’s incredible that we have access to such a great fashion designer. Absolutely incredible in all ways! And props to Jac, too, for her Facebook page and all she does with this enterprise and for sharing you with us. Now back to my “potato chip” shopping of these new pieces. : )
Julia
I must say…..when I started this I never thought it would become what it has. It is very time consuming and Jac sometime says I am rooted to the chair in front of the computer…LOL, but it really is my pleasure. I love potato chips!….my favorite….I’m more of a salt person than a sweet person, but I do love chocolate covered salted pretzels!!
Try your chocolate covered salted pretzels with an ice-cold ‘Chocolate Indulgence Stout’ from Brewery Ommegang, NY. It’s like strawberries to Champagne – hits all the right notes!
Good thing it’s Lunch Time in Alaska…..LoL……now I’m starving!
I know this is buried in here somewhere, but could you confirm the colors and the length of the new FJ short skirt?
Seafoam, Flamingi, Hemp and Olive. It is approx. 23 inches long from the bottom of the one inch waist band down……so if necessary you can wear the elastic waist band from the waist down and get another inch.
Thanks for the intel. No navy? No black?
What can I say………no black is my fault. I, for some reason thought the fabric wouldn’t dye in a deep black, but when we received some sample yardage in to make the duplicate fit samples, they sent black and it was great, but the color orders were in so it was too late for black…..next time. The pants and maxi were ordered in navy so the short skirt was ordered in the other colors. I liked the short skirt in color for summer and the matching skirt to the cowl top and drape front cardigan in flamingo looks really good……sorry no navy………would you consider shortening the navy maxi?
In fact I did order the navy maxi and will be shortening it! Since I would likely have shortened the short skirt anyway, this is an easy, simple solution.
You are too funny! I figured since you bought shirts to make scarves out of……shortening a maxi, might not be out of the realm of possibility. Save the fabric!
No navy? No black? No grey? ):
And although I know there’s no point in saying this again … shorter would have been so nice. ):
What can I say…..the colors you question were bought in the pant and the maxi skirt…..she couldn’t buy every style in every color………black was never an option. Shorter would have been my preference, but then the tall ladies complain…..”stuck between a rock and a hard place”.
From a tall lady, I say thank you. One can always shorten a skirt, but lengthening is not a an option.

Dear Louis,
Where is the pocket on the gauze kimono? I think that I will purchase the thyme to wear over black.
The kimono has a pocket that has a knotch cut out forward of the side seam. I think you can see it in the picture of the seafoam kimono. The thyme will look great over black.
Louis,
Can you please bring back more of the lace dresses? A233180. I got the lace jacket in black and really, really need the bamboo lace dress to go with it and they are all sold out!! Please, please bring back some more of these.
Dear Susan…….I really have nothing to do with bringing in more product…..if it were up to me you would have it tomorrow, but it’s not. The ones you should be pleading with are the QVC buyers who have all the power and write the orders.
I sent an email to customer service. Wonder if it will do any good? Since I now have the black lace jacket, any suggestions as to what you have that I could wear with it? Thanks
What size are you. I don’t want to recommend something that isn’t avail.
I wear a medium in your jacket. Probably a medium/14 in pants/skirts. Thanks
Louis I love that maxi dress with the matching shrugs, but I wish I would have gotten all the colors and shrug tops. Is there any chance they will come back?
No chance. The returns were too high on both items and once that happens the items are DEAD…..but I will have a great new dress on the May 14th 6pm show.
Dear Louis,
Do you know when your new feather knit pants will be available for purchase? I have already ordered the feather knit hoodie in smoke and would like to have the matching pants. Also, I have my fingers crossed that the beautiful cross necklace that you showed with the set will be available for purchase this fall.
I’ve forwarded your question to my buyer, because I don’t know…..let’s see how long it takes for me to get an answer.
Hello Louis:
Just wanted to say THANKS! for the Fiesta OMGorgeous colors in WK. Wore the LIME cardi w/mock neck to match the margaritas of our annual CincoDeMayo party w/neighbors & friends yesterday. Love that Lime dripping with my Turquiose jewels & sterling silver! Can’t wait to wear the Tangerine w/Red + Orange Sponge Coral and my spiny oyster stuff!
Promise to catch up on my Q reviews soon – I’ve loved everything I’ve rec’d!
AHHHHH….it sounds like Spring has reached ALASKA! Isn’t COLOR great! Be brave dear Pamela……mix and match your colors proudly!!!!
Call me fearless.
I fly around in helicopters & small, single-engine planes over very large bodies of water too! LOL
That’s where we part ways! LOL
Good idea, Kate! I have to agree that upon seeing today’s TSV, I was thinking I would like to see a Linea version. Today’s fabric looked too stiff, style too boxy, and 2 inches too short for me at 5’9″. Can’t even belt such a short dress. No sale.
Would love to see a Linea summery dress with princess seaming in a great fabric, Linea colors, short sleeve, and about 38″ length in small. Maybe next year.
I’m being a pest today but can I just make a request for a Linea-esque version of the Isaac Mizrahi tee-shirt dress TSV shown today? We really need a simple cotton sleeveless or cap sleeve dress to wear under our sweaters and shrugs. Maybe some princess seaming? Would you consider this for summer 2014?
it’s alreay sketched……did you get the long maxi cotton/span knit I did last year in the reef green, black and the violet….I did little WK shrugs to match…..anyway it’s along those lines with princess seams as that dress had. Don’t know if they will pick it. If Isaac’s dress doesn’t do well they will shy away from doing it.
I did get that maxi and its super slimming and very easy to wear. Isaac has sold over 40K of those dresses today. Unless many get them home and find them too short, betting its a winner.
40K or 40 thousand units? 40k is not great for a TSV.
By the end of the day 75,000 (out of 80,000 total) dresses sold.
That’s a great sell through…..I guess it wasn’t too short….LOL
Joan the Issac TSV dress has too much spandex in it. Does not run true to size because of that.
Louis, I just loved that solid color maxi tank dress from last year but passed it up as I was just too heavy. Now that I’m down to a Size Medium, and shrinking, I’d kill to get my hands on that dress—in every color. Can’t wait to see what you’ll bring us in 2014.
Oh, and 40K does mean 40 thousand—the “K” means thousand—and I know YOU could sell 50K plus of a dress like that in your inimitable style and quality! Bring it on, Louis!
Looking forward to the upcoming shows….Sheesh
Hi Louis , I ordered that dress and loved it, but had to return it. The reason for the returns was it was cut HUGE. I loved the fabric, cut, and length.
We love your designs and cannot wait for the shows,
Dear Debbie……………This is the first I’m hearing the dress was big. I can only assume women returned the larger size and repurchased in it a smaller size, because it has been sold out forever. I could never figure out why there were so many returns, on what seemed to be a great basic dress. I don’t always understand QVC sizing policy. I realize the American woman, in general is getting bigger, or so I have been told, but a small is small, and a med. should not be a small IMHO. I much prefer B&M store sizing…..again IMHO.
Hello Louis,
Thank you so much for all of the lovely garments you design for us Linea ladies on the Q. Just one question: Is the new hemp color at all similar to the bamboo color in the ivory/bamboo drape front cardigan? Love that sweater and was hoping to order the hemp tank to wear under it. Advice?
Dear FreddieMac…………..the bamboo and the hemp aren’t the same, but hey aren’t bad together. The hemp is slighter pinker than the bamboo, but because it is darker than the stripe they do work to my eye.
Will the gauzy shrug work with the feather jersey cowl neck? If so, what would be your preferred color combos?
Absolutely. I will have a sneak peak of the Orchid tank with the white shrug and the white Boho. I think the white can work with all the colors with white bottoms…..skirts, shorts, leggings, linen trousers etc….you get the idea The smoke, navy and hemp would all look great with all white., and any of the colors will look great with the white. Same with the black though I think it would be hard to make the black and navy work….other than that it would all be chic. Black shrug, smoke tank, white pants, now substitute the smoke with the hemp and olive…….change to black pants and you have a late summer early fall look.I know I haven’t eliminated or narrowed it down much for you but it does all work. It really depends on the bottom to make it all work.
Sorry Kate…….. I speed read and missed the word COWL, but the same thing applies. The only color that is tricky is the navy that would only work with the white with white pants…..that would look super chic…..large gold hoops.
White shrug. Check.
White pants. Check.
Lg gold hoops. Done.
Bring on the navy cowl!
Hi Louis!
I have been working on the feather jersey matrix and have a couple questions. You said Olive #1 (A233191/A233190) is different from Olive #2 (Dolman T, Pull-on skirt, and double pocket tunic). I understand they do not match, but are they of similar shades – could they be worn together? Can you describe in more detail the differences between these two olives, and if they match up to past pieces in olive?
Does either the Seafoam or Aqua color blend with your pebble crepe aqua or short boho in aqua of seasons past?
Thanks for your help!
The olive of the A233191, is a little paler and a little yellower….they are compatible if you don’t mind wearing colors that aren’t a match. Personally I usually prefer the bottoms to be a darker shade, but not always. The SEAFOAM is almost exactly like the pebble crepe AQUA, and if the tiered skirt is the same as the pebble crepe…..than yes they all work together. I no longer have the crinkle georgette short tiered skirt to compare, but if memory serves, they are the same.
Also, is the kimona sleeve jacket the same fabric as the asymmetric dress? I ordered both in black and am thinking the kimono jacket with that dress might be too much volume??????
Dear Nancy…..the fabric of the new Kimono fabric in the BLACK, SAGE and SEAFOAM is TOTALLY different than the one done in the dress and I would not put them together. This Kimono requires something slim underneath….like the new Feather Jersey Tank or Cowl top. The fabic, though somewhat sheer has structure due to the construction of this unique rippled weave……it really looks like an expensive BOUTIQUE item, and certainly nothing like ny thing else you would ever see on the Q. This is definitely an upscale fabric and garment..
Will the lace dress go with the new Kimono?
PERFECTLY…..together….they look incredible……………worthy of a Lincoln Center Premiere
Hi Louis and girlfriends,
So much of the new line is now available – the dolman sleeve and tunic tops and several other pieces as well. Check it out quickly before they realize they posted too soon?? (Of course, you might all know this and I’m the late one!)
Thank you Louis, I snagged all three!
Pepper
Dear Pepper let me know how you like them…..the sweater also came in a dark olive that matched, but it is sold out.
Hello Louis,
I purchased and love your “purple” ikat skirt which you point out is really olive. However because I am XXS the matching top is sold out as is the walnut shirt you showed with it. Would the olive knit dolman sleeve shirt go with this “purple” skirt both color and style wise? If not what other suggestion might you have?
Thank you,
Pepper
Dear Pepper……….Since I don’t know what you look like, your style or your height, I’m flying a little blind here….so….I will tell you what I think sight unseen………I do think the Olive Feather Jersey dolmen sleeve T works with the “purple/olive” Ikat print. If you are slight, which I am assuming you are if you wear an xxs, I would recommend belting the top. If you look at the Seafoam “sneak peek” photos…..the one in the upper left shows it belted with the white boho skirt…..it isn’t tucked in , but it could be, and if you are on the short side I think it would work better tucked in and maybe, as the photo indicates, worn slightly off the shoulder……..after all your name is PEPPER!……I would choose a dark brown or tobacco belt….something more casual and rugged…..something with a slight ethnic flare maybe……….or just a nice dark classic brown belt will do. My other suggestion is a sweater that is still in stock, but extremely LIMITED!! The style # is A3825. It is a cotton/rayon blend, short sleeve, jewel neck sweater. It is STILL AVAIL in DEEP PLUM and PEACOCK [xxs only], and the colors work perfectly with the Ikat skirt. I think this is a good choice because you could wear both colors now and right into the fall with dark brown boots……Take a peek, but now that I have brought attention to how well these match, they might be around long………..For those of you that already own these sweaters but hadn’t thought about them for this skirt……………now you have a brand new way to wear your skirt and you didn’t have to buy something new!
Can someone please provide the item number and colors for the pants? I seem to have missed them.
Thanks
A233967 for the regular length, and A233968 for the petite length…….colors…….navy, smoke, hemp, orchid and aqua.
Have we missed the A233967 pants? QVC says they are sold out?
No…..they haven’t even been posted yet.
Louis,
Thank you for posting the item number and colors of the pant. What about the cowl neck tank?
Thanks.
sneak peeks coming soon.
Louis,
I think I am going to give the hemp color a try (tank and short skirt) I love it with black. I was also going to buy your watches which one would you recommend with the hemp – the tortoise or clear and the necklace/earrings also. I would love your opinion on this. Thankyou
With the hemp and black as a combination, a terrific one by the way……I would go with all tortoise….watch and jewelry. For an all one color look, the A233955, drape front cardigan in the Feather Jersey, also comes in the Hemp…..the three matching piece make a terrific soft suit …..great for special occasions that require you to be dressy but not too dressy.
Hi Louis!
Can you please tell me when your new pink jacket is going to be on this month. I want a pink jacket so bad and can hardly wait for this new arrival. Thanks!
Morning Sandra………The Pink jacket with the Black trims will be on my May 14th show. As of today it is scripted for my 7pm show, but which items for which shows [there’s also a 1pm show], have not been finalized…… so it really could be on either one, but definitely on the 14th.
Louis,
I’m loving the feather jersey and wide assortment of colors and shapes. I notice that some items have a color called Aqua, and others a color named Seafoam. In the photos, they look to me like the same color. Are there TWO colors or just TWO names, and if there are two colors, is the Aqua bluer and Seafoam greener? Confusing!
crdlb
I’m with you…it is a little confusing, and it’s going to get more confusing….so let me try to clear it up. There are two blues and I think the names got mixed up. The sea foam actually is very close to the aqua WK, but a little paler…OK so the sea foam is really AQUA. the Aqua is more of a blue than aqua. I hope my photos will eventually clear it up. I think you can see from the hooded tunic the sea foam is really AQUA.
Louis
do you have any other crop pants in the pheonix print cotton? I love them ( have them in all colors ) and love wearing it with the poet shirts. Thanks
I don’t have any more crop pants, but I do have a short sleeve shirt and shorts in the same fabric coming on the May 14th shows. The print is the same as the floral BOHO FROM LAST SUMMER……the one that came in turquoise, navy and coral. The shirt and skirt look great together
Be still my heart!!! Love that fabric. And that print is one of the most beautiful you have ever done.
I couldn’t agree with you more. It is such a shame that skirt came in with the “new” QVC sizing in waist measurements, which obviously was too big. If anyone is interested in still purchasing the skirt, which is a beauty, I would definitely size down one or two sizes, depending on how you are built. What size did you get in the skirt and how did it fit?
I got my usual Medium but definitely could have sized down. The Small was sold out at that time (in the Navy) or I might have exchanged it. In the hot and humid summer months, though, the less my clothes touch me the better! The Medium is workable but the Small would be a better fit.
Hi, Louis! The Navy in your Feather Knit garments looks like a lighter, brighter navy than what you usually do. Also, the Smoke looks like a bluish gray. Is this correct? Thanks so much!
The navy is pretty dark, but not as dark as my Linea navy. The gray is a warm grey as opposed to a bluish grey.
Thanks, Louis! With this cold I have my eyes are playing tricks on me. The gray looked like a warm gray when I first looked at it then a blueish gray the second time. Glad I asked!!!
Oh my gosh Louis – perfection! Getting all 4, who needs cashmere when one can have
LDO feather knits! thank you so much.
Regards, Christine
Dear Christine , I hope you like it as much as I do.
Louis,
Will there be a crop pant in the FJ group?
No Debbie, not this go around
Rats! Any crops at all coming?
No….but I’m working on some for next spring.
Can I buy extra FJ pants, which I have to hem anyway and make them into crops?
Absolutely. I was going to suggest that but it is an expense, so I thought better of it.
Hi Louis!
I am in love with all of your whisper knit items..They never cling and always look so pretty. I know the qvc pictures never show how beautiful your clothing is. But these pictures make this line look very clingy…can you describe the fabric..is it appropriate for your traditional clothing buyer or is this new fabric geared towards a younger buyer? I try hard to never return any of your items..so the more information you can give is so very much appreciated.
Dear Pat…..I have posted pictures of the HOODED FEATHER JERSEY TUNIC, with lots of information. The garment details are posted on the QVC LINEA site. I geared this group of clothing to the LINEA WOMAN. Yes it is definitely a different direction, but I feel my customer is multi dimensional, and needs a varied wardrobe…..after all it is only one group of clothes, but IMHO, an important statement with a different function. Many years ago I did for QVC a MATTE JERSEY TUNIC, very similar to the ones in this group, a pull-on skirt and a pull-on pant. Maybe some of the Linea Ladies remember and STILL own the pieces. They were very well received. I used to do Matte jersey separates at Anne Klein all the time and they too sold very well. The only difference between what I did then and what I am doing now is the matte jersey was 100% rayon and was dry clean only, which would meet a lot of resistance with the majority of my Linea customers. However, the style and function of the garments was and is the same. Easy flowing garments that can be casual or dressy…..depending on what you wear them with and how you accessorize them. The only way to know for sure if they are for you is to try one. Read what the women who have already received the A233190 tunic in the Feather Jersey have said……..out of all the reviews there are only two negative ones and that is about fit issues they personally have, [there are always some who have fit issues, and not always the fault of the garment LOL], The negative comments were not about the fabric or style. I will be posting pics of all the Feather jersey pieces in the days ahead. If you were one of the many who purchased the Feather Jersey dress, A222262, then you already know how wonderful the fabric is. I would never do such an extensive group if I didn’t believe in the fabric.
Ahhh, matte jersey… my all time favorite fabric. Yes, casual and dressy. Office, out for the night, or out for errands. LOVE that you made the comparison!! Out of my way, ladies!
Dear Pecan Cookie….how i love yoyr name…..All of the 4 pieces you mentioned in olive, the short and maxi skirts, the T shirt and the tunic with pockets will all match. The pant and V-neck short sleeve tunic is a different olive and does not have the Feather Jersey label…..they were not ready when those garments were being produced.
Louis, the new “regular knit maxi skirt” is showing up on line and looks very nice. Can you comment on it and perhaps include some pictures.
I hope you do have pictures of the maxi because I can’t imagine anyone wanting to buy it as shown on the Q. What’s with the church lady shoes they paired with it? We’re all going to wear wedges or cute flip flops, not frumpy comfort shoes.
Do you believe those shoes!!!! The toes are curling up!!!! Really I have seen that model in the same shoe for other apparel lines. Why the stylist, if there is one, couldn’t go into the models closet, where the pickings are slim anyway, and get a pair of sandals or open wedges is beyond me……and did she have to stand with her feet together. Her feet look like the WICKED WITCH from the East before Dorothy dropped the house on her………….. All I can say is the skirt is wonderful. It is half lined so it isn’t see through or heavy. If you own the dress, A222262, you know how light the fabric is and how it flows and drapes…………..you will not be disappointed. I will say it is very hard to photograph a maxi skirt on a form. It is a modified tulip shape….so it follows the line of the body and the flares out slightly.
Dear Cathy, as I just said to Kate……….it is a wonderful light weight skirt and is half lined. It follows the line of the body and the flares out slightly to make walking easy but to keep the volume to a minimum. It is avail in reg and petite lengths. What can I say it’s great basic skirt.
Thanks, Louis. I ordered the orchid and I’m sure I will love it and will probably be ordering more colors. I wasn’t looking for a maxi skirt but your bohos have taught me what a staple skirts can be in my wardrobe. In fact, I have already received the white and navy bohos and, of course, they are fantastic. I hope some day you think about again doing the turquoise (which I missed first time around) and the absolutely gorgeous purple (which I have from a few years ago). In fact, I will wear the purple to celebrate my husband’s birthday tomorrow on Cinco de Mayo.
Best to you and the lovely Jac. Now I am looking forward to further introduction to your new feather jersey items.
Hello Louis, your new items are popping out all over the place but are you doing furniture too. It looks like your whole new knit collection is shown with your furniture line.
Dear Sharon…..I really have no idea what you are referring to???? I haven’t seen any photos with furniture???I can tell you I am not doing a furniture line, not that I wouldn’t like to, but I do not have one.
New. Linea on QVC then you go to page 3 and at the bottom page is H366948 desk, H366952 chair and H366954 table and your new items of your new clothes are there too
These pieces are under “Linea Italia” and not Linea by Louis Dell’Olio
Louis: A new tunic is now available on Qs site. Can you give us a sneak peek. Their pictures never do your clothes justice.
Dear Karen,
I am very surprised that they have posted part of my new FEATHER JERSEY group, and I will certainly post photos.
Thanks Karen,
I got one of each of the feather jersey tunics and the 2 of the new gauze kimono! I just checked and the cardigan and feather jersey maxi skirts are also posted!
thanks Louis
Dear Louis,
My Black Lace Jacket with Linen trim arrived today, and I’m IN LOVE! It’s just beautiful, stitching in black is fine, and my new favorite jacket … so elegant to dress up, so chic to wear casually. The upcoming PETITE pants will come home to me in both colors as well. THANKS so much 🙂
Cathy in PA
P.S. Thinking FAR ahead, I’d love to see this jacket in Navy … and of course, a coordinating skirt to wear with all the jackets …
Mine arrived yesterday and I’m wearing it today over the long skinny tank from a few shows ago. I have two of the previous colors, but the black is my favorite. I too would love this in navy.
Hi Louise,
YAY! We have a date for the tortoise shell ensemble and the watches. I will definitely be checking in at midnight and throughout the day if they’re not there at midnight. Thank you for the “heads up”!
My black lace cardigan arrived and I do like the black contrast stitching on the collar and the pockets. My feather pants came in the walnut and I really like the pleating below the waistband. It really makes the pants a step above ordinary and I do like pockets on my pants! These pants like the new ponte knit ones I purchased will have to be altered due to my Lineaputian height!
Is the buyer only buying pants in regular inseam length (32″) now? Will there be more petite inseam (29″) pants coming further into this year?
Yes….on my May show….the faux linen in bamboo and black.
Is this gaux linen the same fabric composition as the natural and pale olive herringbone pants? Or is this another completely different fabric?
Will the bamboo look good with the new black lace cardigan with taupe trim?
This is a brand new fabric. Though it is polyester, you would never know it. It is very different from the herringbone…..and yes it will go with the sweater and many other things. It is very neutral….looks great with all the fiesta color WK sweaters and the feather jerseys coming soon.
Yea petites!!!!!!! I need both colors.
Hi Louis, I LOVE the watches and intend on buying the tortoise and ivory ones. Do you have any idea of when in May they might be on line?? Early, mid or late? If you don’t have an idea, I’ll just check every day! I’m also wondering when your May show is. I did see the reference to the 14th above, but will that be the ONLY day??
Nancy, I’m not sure when they will be posted. I would guess on the day of my show or right after. My show is May 14 at 1pm and 7pm. You can always check dates and times of shows on the Linea site
Thanks Louis, I usually sign up for the reminders, but didn’t see it this time. I could have missed it though. It’s been one of those months for me!
Dear Louis,
Thank you for your reply. I can live with the black thread as long as it is done correctly. I have put the jacket in the mail and hope that the exchange will work because I really do like the jacket.
Hi Louis,
I did receive the black lace jacket yesterday. Although the design is lovely the workmanship is unfortunately sloppy. The following are a few examples. The linen trim is sewn with black thread unlike the terracotta one I have. The front trim of linen with the buttons – near the bottom is stitched over twice and because its black its noticeable. The front collar trim is not cut cleanly and when stitched with the black thread the unevenness is quite apparent. The four pockets also have some black stitching and the result is sloppy. You are the designer and far more experienced than I, but comparing it to my terracotta jacket, I do not understand why the stitching on the trims were not done in the same beige color so as not to call attention to the sewing. I will exchange the jacket in hopes that I just received a “lemon” and that the replacement jacket is sewn properly.
Dear Bcm. I am truly sorry you are unhappy with the stitching on the jacket, but I am afraid they will all be done the same way. If you notice the terracotta pocket is also sewn with terracotta thread and not beige. So they are both sewn with the same “formula”. They will not sew the pocket down with black thread and then switch thread colors to beige for 3/4 of inch [approx] it would take to finish the pockets. I’m sorry but this is the way they work. On the other colors it is less noticeable. Honestly, until you mentioned it, I didn’t even notice it. If it really disturbs you then you should definitely return it.
Dear Louis,
I purchase your purple Ikat top and I adore it. Do you think that it would look good with your olive boho?
Thanks,
Dariann
Dear Dariann…..I tried the two together, and even thought the olives aren’t exactly the same, I liked them together.
Hi Louis,
Thank you so much for the black lace jacket info. Mine is out for delivery today! This is my question- I am attending a wedding this weekend and planned on wearing a black dupioni sheath. This is a black tie optional wedding. I’d like to wear the black lace jacket as well. Do you think its dressy enough? What sort of accessories do you suggest? (I was planning on wearing the terracotta lace jacket with the herringbone pants and matching shell to the rehearsal dinner, but now will substitute the lace cardigan if wearing the black jacket for the wedding.)Thanks.
Louis, Are the sub dials on the watch functioning? How do you set them, I only see one
stem.
They are not functioning and can not be set…..just for looks….LOL
I see the wave bib necklace is on the Q in gold, if any one missed it.
I just saw on the QVC website that the black lace jacket is available for order!
I have just received the lace dress. What a lovely dress! I ordered in my regular X size, and everything fits except the armholes, which are huge. I put myself on the waitlist for a size smaller (just in case it’s not too tight), but then thought maybe you might have another solution.
Dear nyk………are they too low or too wide? Without knowing it’s hard o judge. If they are too wide, sometimes it can be the bra……otherwise, there isn’t much that can be done. I haven’t heard this about the armhole. We are very careful when fitting on our model to make sure the bra is always covered.
Thank you so much for such a quick reply. It’s too low, there is a half-moon of bra showing. There seems to be a big difference between the 2X and 3X sleeveless armholes. If I had the black dress (instead of the bamboo), I could wear it like a jumper with a black short sleeve top. Thanks again and wish me luck on the waitlist.
Dear louis,
Could we get some pictures of the new white and navy boho’s? Many of us have bought them but having you do some styling would be priceless!
Thanks
coming soon!
thank you!
I ordered the new bohos in white and navy. Can’t wait to get them. I missed out on the white safari shirt in my size (and I should know better about waiting on these key pieces so I am kicking myself). If you can, please, when there’s a reorder, include white? I’ll keep stalking, but this seems to be an item that doesn’t get returned. Do you think that the new crinkle button front tunic in white could be worn belted over the white boho?
Julia
It can definitely be worn belted….I showed the black belted………….over the boho is another story. My answer is simple………. yes if you can carry it…..and no if it too overwhelming for you.
Dear Louis,
I just ordered your boho in white to wear with your white safari shirt and tank. Is there any chance QVC would reorder your fish pendent this summer? I think it would look great with the white ensemble.
Thanks,
Dariann
Probably not….it’s not even a discussion! QVC has there protocol about reorders, they wait three months for all returns to see the % and then they decide. I will ask my buyer.
I’m suffering from sneak peek withdrawal!
When are the new tortoise pieces coming? May?
The photos are ready but the jewelry won’t be avail. probably until the 14th when my show is. I don’t want to post too early, then you’ll get bored looking at them.
How white is the new boho? Does it match the safari white shirt A214117 in the same fabric?
Hi designista……the answer is YES, they are the same white. As a matter of fact the last time I presented the safari shirt in white I showed it with the white Boho as a sneak peek. I would suggest that anything you wear with the WHITE Boho, you wear on the outside, not tucked in. Remember, even though it is lined in the same trico knit as all the others, it is still a WHITE GEORGETTE skirt. Worn that way there should be no problems.
THRILLED that the boho came up just before we leave for Europe. I was very afraid I would miss out on the white. I had the navy on waitlist so it is on its way also. That white boho will get a TON of wear this summer in my wardrobe.
Also Louis, I did the lowest level of difficulty “fix” which we discussed on the drooping breast pocket of my pale olive herringbone jacket. I moved the button up almost a full 1/4 inch. I had to sew it on through the lining of course but that will anchor it well. It looks very good and eliminated the problem. I’m taking it with me as we travel. Well that and a bunch of WK turtlnecks and sleeveless mocks and the caftan top and skirt and the blue denim jacket and the olive ikat skirt and several of my tortoise shell 2 way zip jackets 🙂 Thanks for making travel this easy! We come back right before your next show so I’ll be catching up on all sneak peeks when we get home.
…………….and you’re going to fit at all in a “carry on”………LOL
STOP sounding like a husband!!!! He’s been execising at the gym so he can haul my suitcases for me. I just checked the temps again in all the cities we’ll hit and I MIGHT have to leave my sleeveless mock necks home. Will that help??? But boy I’m gonna LOOK good over there 😉
GREAT! I have two of those safari shirts in white!
Hi Louis,
I just received the sleeveless asymmetrical dress in the black. It’s absolutely wonderful and I know it will be a work horse in my wardrobe this summer. It’s so, so versatile and I now wish I could order in the white. Alas all colors are sold out in small. Hopefully, this will be reordered before summer is over. I plan on wearing it for Mother’s Day and I know all of my adult daughters will want to know where I got it. The fabric is fabulous and the design is fun for summer. We are all very lucky women to have you designing for us, Louis. Thank you.
Also appreciate Debbie for giving us the info on the boho skirt. I ordered the white and was fortunate to get it.
Dear Nancy………….as I have explained before, reordering a garment in the same season, to be delivered in the same season, almost 99% never happens, so lock your dress away, or constantly wear it when your daughters are around….LOL
Yes, and I know you have mentioned that reorders in the same season are RARE, but a woman can hope………
You’re right about locking the one I have away! Have a great weekend!!
You too.
Thanks Debbie for heads up on the boho.
Kathy / Wis
I took advantage of your post too. Thanks Debbie.
Hi Louis and ladies,
Just wanted to pass on that the white and navy boho is up for order on the Q! Thanks Louis!
XS in white that I needed is already sold out (or maybe not all inventory is in yet?).
In stock now!
Hi Louis
I love the ponte seperates for spring Quick question :Would the butter hydrenga top and the blue pucci top go with the limonoge skirt
Thanks as always
Viki
Dear Viki….sorry it has taken so long to get back to you! The Limoges Blue skirt looks perfect with the “Blue” Pucci-esque print. The aqua is a totally different blue, more in the turquoise family. I like mixing blues, but if you are looking for a true coordinate….the BLUE is perfect.
Louis you are a genius! Last year I bought a couple of tie-dye caftans from the caribe batik in St. Kitts and they are about a foot too long. I still haven’t shortened them because I couldn’t figure out how to do it without ruining the border print on the bottom that goes straight across the yardage as it was printed. Your asymmetrical hem design that allows the border to remain true is the perfect answer. I never thought of it and I’ve been staring at those dresses for months! THANK YOU!!!!
Happy Day! – Louis:
Rec’d my work/travel itinerary this AM; I’ll be in-flight on the 14th May, so plan to tape your upcoming shows. Please post if you are subject to any change of scheduling. Exciting to see (2) full hours of Linea on same day!
Is this the only show(s) for May?
p.s. The tortoise jewels TOP my list of things to come!
Hi Louis,
You are GENIUS. The asymetrical gauze dress is perfection. I was a bit worried about my middruff, but decided to try.
Thank You – this will be a perfect summer dress. It can go dressy to casual.
Do you think I can wear the Gorgeotte sheer top (the one that came with the tank) over it? In black over black?
Also, do you think I could shorten & make the V more pronounced & up to knee length?
I appreciate all you do & value your honesty. You are the BEST designer and nicest person.
I Love watching your shows.
I will write a review on QVC.
Thank You again & again,
Dear njlady…..I’m not sure what you are asking….if you are asking can the angle of the hem be changed so it is a more extreme V ….I would say…. no. If you lay it flat you will see the hem is actually straight. to change the angle would be very difficult now….it would have to be draped that way. If you want to shorten the front to the knee, you would have to straighten it straight across the bottom. That can be done and you would still have longer points at the sides, but by doing that you would also eliminate some of the sweep of the skirt and it would not be as flowing. If you are asking can the v neck be lowered…..a good seam stress could probably do it.
I was asking if I could shorten the front a bit without losing the flow of the asymetrical look.
Also, do you think the gorgeotte top would look good as a jacket over it?
Also, would you wash the dress?
Thanks again, don’t want to ruin the look
I would not recommend shortening the dress. I think the safari shirt could look good. I would especially like it tied. I don’t really know enough about the washing instruction details of the garments to advise, You ladies know better than me. The most I know is whether you can dry clean or wash and I believe the dress is wash, but exactly how, I don’t know, since I have never used this fabric before.
Good morning, Louis!
Would you consider doing a version of the asymmetric hem dress in Feather Jersey? I love the style of that dress, but my body needs garments with a bit of stretch.
Also, I just received the ponte blazer with the peplum and it is wonderful!!!
Thanks for your work.
Kate
Yes, it would be very pretty in Feather Jersey
Hello, Louis. I’m back in the USA (but going back to SA in mid May for 6 weeks or so—ugh) and overwhelmed by the beauty of all the Linea pieces that were waiting for me (the UPS guy thinks I need to be committed, I’m sure). Have you considered doing the knit tops (a214114) in solid colors? I live in this top and I have all the animal print colors, all the floral prints and all the medallion prints and the pearl print, but I could definitely use this in solids, as well. I love how this fabric takes (and holds) color. Maye this could be one of your “essentials” available on-line only, but I think it would be an instant hint. Just think of all the colors you could bring us. Thanks for listening, Louis and best regards to you and Jac.
Sheesh
You better be careful….you could loose your citizenship…LOL………I can’t believe your going back already! My next shows are on May14….1pm and 7pm…..will you be home? I think it would be a good idea to do the t-in colors. Do you like the poly/span or the rayon/span better? They both are machine wash. The rayon has less of a sheen. The python print, the recent abstract print top and skirt, the body suit and faux wrap dance skirt were all in the rayon jersey.
May I jump in here and cast a vote for the poly/span? I love the Pucci, cheetah , hydrangea and medallion prints – and would love that style in solids. I’ve been ordering Susan Graver’s “liquid knit” to get solid color tops in my wardrobe. Although they are the closet I’ve been able to get to your prints, the knit density isn’t the same. Your poly/span seems fluffier and cooler. Also, I’m not crazy about that line’s standard palette of colors. I would love a solid poly/span in tobacco, steel gray, Linea Navy, white, chili pepper, limoges blue…yikes, the list could go on, LOL.
I live in your poly/span through the summer and am amazed at others saying they can’t do that fabric in warm weather. Maybe it has to do with how snug a fit a person prefers. When I wear your poly/span print T’s, I find them to be breathable and comfortable, even in our humidity.
I agree with you Diamondscribe. I also wore those tops last year in 100 degree heat and thought they were great! Would love solids.
Hi Louis, and thanks for your quick reply to my inquiry. I want to “echo” the other gals that responded and say Poly span—I just love how the fabric takes the color. While I adore the prints, there are times when I want a luscious solid color–and they would be the perfect travel pieces. May I request it in Chili Pepper? How long does it take to get the Q “powers that be” to agree, order, stock, etc. Would we see it for Spring 2014, or earlier? Thanks so much, Louis.
Looks like I go back to Johannesburg mid-May…hopefully after the May 14 shows. I should be back the beginning of July. It’s the opposite season there, so I will be bringing my Fall/Winter Linea with me!
Hi Louis-
Would LOVE to see an A-line trench made with the new floral fabric! I think that it would be fabulous- Just a suggestion (:
Hug the doggies for me!
Kate
Dear Louis: I’m going out on a big limb, but felt compelled to write this to you today. First and foremost, thank you for bringing your classic designs for a larger more diverse audience VIA QVC. I have been a devoted admirer of yours for may years and have enjoyed window shopping ALMOST as much as purchasing many of your exciting creations. You are a true national treasure and fashion icon. I realize this blog is a medium for many of your most ardent customers to express their delight and request their “wish list” dreams, and I know how devoted you are to the myriad of fans. However, my hope is that your fans will continue to appreciate you for your vision of how to dress the American woman and for what you bring “to the table” in both classics and affordable haute couture.
No one told Michelangelo what to paint or how to paint it. An analogy would be how discerning it can be to attend a music concert of one of your favorite artists and have people in the audience yell out what songs they want to hear! I realize I may receive some flack for my out of the box expression, but my sincerest wish is to tell you and Jac, what beautiful souls you are. Thank you for everything you do.
With my utmost respect and admiration.
Brenda
Dear Brenda………thank you for your vote of confidence. I created this web site for women to visit and discuss with me anything “fashion” related. I appreciate all the feed back I can get. There are many times their suggestions are very helpful……as the saying goes “two heads are better than one”. However, in the end I do have to feel it, so when I sit down to work…..I sketch what naturally comes to me. I do appreciate when women tell me about the type of rise they prefer in their pants and what inseam lengths work best. This is information I can use. Color suggestions are always welcome, but I am a color maven….so that is very personal…..I can only be influenced so far…..because in the end it has to be me.
Dear Louis!
I am so hoping that the OLO lines are a big success. I’ve already dipped into the Whisper Knits, Feather Jerseys and am hoping for some great things to come in the Cashmere blends. Since I know you’re always looking for more work, I’d like to suggest an OLO line in the that fabulous powder rayon fabric. I adore that fabric and think it would also make a great wardrobe unto itself. If I can’t have a whole wardrobe in it, I’d love a long slime skirt to go with the tanks from last fall. And some more summery colors.
Can’t wait to get my new things–the floral “limb” dress, the gauze dress, and the shrugs. Being on the West Coast, we’re all about the easy, breezy!
crdlb
I meant a slim skirt!
Dear Carol…..I am assuming you are talking about the rayon/span like the body suit and faux wrap dance skirt. I have to be careful about too many OLO programs. Remember, these things don’t get air time, and truly some of these style, especially jerseys, need to be seen on a body. My photos are pretty good, but there is no replacement for seeing the clothes in motion on someone.
That is exactly the fabric I mean. Love, love, love. If we can have them in the line that you bring on air, hurrah for that! Anything that depends on a QVC photo to sell it, is going to have an uphill climb.
crdlb
That’s what I fear, so I’m not recommending that fabric as an OLO group.
THE FEATHER JERSEY IS TDF!!! I have the printed maxi dresses from last summer, but I wasn’t visualizing how great the solids would be. The fabric is incredible, and takes color beautifully. The fabric reminds me of a silk blend something and is just as cool. The fit on the tunic is perfect, and at 5′-4″ for me it’s a dress as well. I did order down on the pants as I am slim in that area and the fit is perfect. I think it all depends on how you carry your weight. The asymmetrical dress is perfection and again a perfect fit. I’m always wary about empire designs hitting too high up on the bust and not looking right. The lace dress is a great fit as well. Still waiting on the flower dresses. I can’t believe I received everything so early this time. Everything I’ve received thus far is perfection!! Thank You!! I’m off to write reviews! Oh and the ponte pants are wonderful but I did need to size down on them as well. Sometimes the measurements are misleading when you don’t know how the fabric will fit on the body.
My flower dresses arrived (peony and turquoise) and they are spectacular indeed. Just enough ruffly goodness to be feminine and pretty. I will review in detail.
Dear Kate…..I am delighted you love the dresses!!!!! I am well aware that this is not everyone’s cup of tea….and it wasn’t meant to be, which is really going out on the proverbial “limb” as far as QVC is concerned. The more daring the garment the more limited the audience, and that is exactly what “high fashion ” is about. Not everything can be what I call “common denominator” clothing….not that there is anything wrong with that…..I am, as you know, a lover of the classics………..but we all need to take a trip out on the limb once in a while.
I’m another who LOVES that dress! I was a bit concerned as I am not as tall as some of the LL long-legged beauties, but the bold (peony) print is not overpowering at all. A bonus is that OG also loves it on me. Now I am having fun seeing how to accessorize it for different looks from casual to dressy. It is Jamaica bound for sure but is also perfect for our summer classical music festival. I’m thrilled that QVC let you go out on a bit of a limb :-).
I am so happy you are not only pleased with the dress, but your happy with how it looks on you.. I always knew OG had taste.
Dear designista…..I am so happy you are pleased with the things you have received!…….especially the feather jersey…..you haven’t seen anything yet!!!!! I promise, if you fall in love with the fabric and it turns out to be everything I say it is, you will LIVE in the separates coming. I am so excited about every piece and the colors are wonderful……..it really is a wardrobe unto itself. Foe me, it has the look and feel of a SILK/LINEN….but a very fine linen. We all know about QVC’s “vanity sizing”. I do think pull-on pants in general with the SML range can sometimes run a size large, but I think it effects larger sizes more than the smaller. My XS samples fit fine…..though one could get the xxs if they wanted to. Personally, I prefer things, especially in this type of jersey, to be on the loose side rather than tight. It’s much more flattering………..and the feather jerseys are meant to be languid and easy and COOL when wearing them. You should feel like you aren’t wearing anything. That said, I do think the ponte pull-on pant is ample.
The Feather Jersey is going to be the death of my credit card, and yes I want it in every style! It couldn’t be more perfect. How long do we have to wait for more styles?
It will probably be mid May….We took a long time fitting these pieces to make sure they were absolutely right. Between the QVC fit team and my fit team….I’m a hopin’ and a prayin” that they ill be great.
If the tunic is any indication, I’m going to be thrilled. I hope there is a tank coming.
CHECK!
Hi Louis
Just the received the lace dress in bamboo with the black shrug. What a beauty! Can’t wait to see what you have waiting in the wings for us the rest of the year. Love Love Love for all your hard work.
Kathy – Wis
Louis,
I am on waitlist for the bamboo lace dress. I am 5ft 2in and expect that the dress might be too long on me. Can the lace hem be shortened without compromising the look of the dress? Thank you.
Yes it is a simple hem nothing fancy
Dear Louis,
Thanks again for your hard work and lovely clothes and thanks to Jac for showing them off so beautifully. I’m another Utah fan. It’s still snowing here in the mountains, but I’m hoping to be able to wear your spring offerings in a month or so. In the meantime, have you ever considered using fleece in your designs?
Tongue firmly in cheek,
Deborah
Dear Deborah not really. Other designers use it very often and it is more their domain, but of I ever found one that I thought Ed special. I would consider it
Hi Louis,
If the safari crinkle georgette shirt with matching shell (A214117) comes back again for reorder could you consider new colors of navy, purple and hot pink?
I cannot wait for warmer weather like we had about 2 weeks ago to wear the ones I already own.
Regards,
Chris
HI LOUIS, Guess I’m the only one this Sunday afternoon going through closets coordinating new with previous. I received A222275 v neck 3/4 sleeve top in turquoise and love; have all the other colors. This is such a comfortable top and packs beautifully. If you do another color would you consider shades of terracotta, rust, creams and whites or even a dash of khaki? I love both colors of A221804 skirts; terracotta is such a flatter shade for so many skin tones. I also have a jacket in zebra jacquard in a color that looks like terracotta. Thanks, Louis
HI Louis, Loved your 4/18 show. As usual too short!!! My query is a jewelry question. I love J270116 Chandelier earrings in black with rich jewel tones but I saw Kate wearing something similar in “fruity tones” on 4/18 show that looked spiffy with the new WK colors. Yellows, oranges, pinks and clear; couldn’t tell if they were silver or gold tone. Would you consider doing J270116 in this summer look?
CAN’T WAIT FOR THE BLACK LACE JACKET! I was on wait list since Oct/Nov and it was canceled. Hope there is a plethora coming, the Q could auction them to the highest bidder!
Dear Happy Lady, I certainly would if QVC reorders them and wants to add a new color
