LDO, would the bamboo lotus print tank from earlier this year (A233854) work with the new camel suiting?
Dear Louis –
I am so impressed that with all you have going on you spend time answering all our questions. You clearly love what you do. I bought your clothes years ago but got distracted with what I thought was “trendy”. I am clearly a classic type of woman. Your clothes are what I need. Please keep doing what you are doing. Need more casual though as I live in California. What is coming down the line for us casual Linea Ladies? Will be watching on Monday. You go!
Thanks, Kathy. I was thinking that might be the item you were referring to. I am happy to report I ordered the dress in black. It is great that Linea ladies keep each other posted as to what and when QVC posts. I know I don’t want to miss a thing!
THANKS, LOUIS. MY SISTER WOULD BE EXTREMELY INTERESTED IN A SUEDE AND KNIT JACKET IN INDIGO, DENIM, AND TURQUOISE COLOR.
TURTLENECK AND VNECK LONGSLEEVE MATCHING KNIT TOPS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. HOPEFULLY THIS SEASON. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A TURTLENECK AND VNECK TO MATCH THE SPRUCE GREEN JACKET. DO YOU THINK YOU’LL HAVE ANY MORE THINGS TO MATCH THE SPRUCE GREEN JACKET ?? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS,
Kathy,
What new knit are you referring to that you say justed posted this am? What item numbers?
Item number is. A236137 knit dress
Dear Louis,
This question also got lost, so apologies if you already answered or my blurry eyes are just missing it … do you by chance know Fabric content of new Boucle sweater AND also tbe knit sleeves of the Spruce Suede Jacket? Walter and I are in Mew Mexico with our silver vintage travel trailer … came for a friend’s new CD release party and a nice long visit with my cousin and … well yes a bit of turquoise has fallen into my bag LOL. Every day at sunset Sandia Mountain goes through a rainbow of the exact colors you’re bringing us … it’s a SIGN 🙂 We travel with our dog, lots of books and music, computer and NO TV … Walter has agreed a small new flat screen TV is in order for “weather checks” … . FASHION weather checks …
Dear Cathy….the boucle sweater is an acrylic/nylon blend…..the knit sleeves are a cotton/rayon blend……..
Perfect; Thanks!
Louis what are you doing to me and my budget? I’m 82 years old and retired from Boston to SE COAST OF NC. Don’t ask why I bought 8 wk sweaters and tons of your jewelry and now you tempt with the boucle. I guess I just want to feel and look good.
Many thanks for your beautiful designs.
Dear Beryl….I see you answered your own question…..Honestly it’s a credit to you that at your age [though age has nothing to do with anything] that you care enough to want to feel and look good. My mom was 96 years young when she passed, and there wasn’t one single day that she didn’t dress up. I say….IF YOU LIKE IT….GET IT.
Sorry to double – or maybe triple post this Louis. I posted on yesterday’s Ask Louis and if you responded I missed it. Sadly yesterday’s page has been goggled up into the ozone. New suede jacket in Walnut – does it match up well in color with the new WK walnut pencil skirt? New Ottoman jacket in Pewter (or grey) – does it match up well in color with the new WK pewter pencil skirt? What funds I saved from all my new WK purchases will only cover 2 jackets and I want to chose wisely. Especially since the Camel one is a must! Thanks for your help!
Thanks Louis for your reply to this question on the Boucle Sweater thread!!! Greatly appreciated.
New knit dress
The new knit is just posted on the Q
Kathy
Hi Louis…I received the grey whisper knit skirt, tank and V-neck tunic and just ordered the cardigan. The color is just stunning, and the fit is beautiful. Is there any possibility that you may have “matching” whisper knit pants in petite in this beautiful grey? I know you may have answered this question already, and that it is difficult to match dye lot if made subsequent to the initial items. We can dream, though, can’t we? Can’t wait for your shows on Monday. List is ready to go. My husband keeps asking when those “suits” will be on sale since I keep talking about them..you know, those camel, caviar and black beauties! Thanks, again, for your genius.
Dear Ellen….I really fought to bring the WK pant back, but I lost the battle……but not the WAR….I will continue to fight!
Louis, I am new to your website but received notice of your new items from the Q The new marled knit skirt shows to be around 33 inches long. Since I am 5’2″ I would love to get this if it can be shortened. What do you think?
Dear Texas Donna….a BIG TEXAS WELCOME to my website….been there many many times….love the State….Love the PEOPLE…..there is nothing like a Texas BBQ!…..Absolutely, you can shorten this skirt….the fabric is very easy to handle.
Which blues would you paired with the CAVIAR pants? Will they go with the grey and blue tweed jacket that is coming in September? Have a great show(s) on monday. We will be watching.
With the Caviar….I prefer blues with gray in them such as a Cadet blue. A210360, the WAIST WHITTLING WK sweater that has been reordered for next month, will come in the perfect color. For a brighter blue, the CHAMBRAY BLUE KATE SHIRT, A214116 looks perfect with it.
Hi Louis,
The waist whittling WK is my favorite sweater – I have all 4 colors – so I am happy to hear it has been re-ordered in new colors. Although I just received the surplice sweater in black and it may replace the waist whittling as my favorite – it is sexy-glam but also comfy-cozy. Since I will be ordering the surplice in other colors I would like to know what new colors the waist whittling one will be available in to avoid getting duplicate colors. Can you tell us what the other colors will be?
The new colors being offered in the reorder waist whittling sweaters are totally different from the OLO WK sweaters. The colors are Cadet Blue and Claret.
Great colors. Just ordered the ponte dress in black and spruce. Looking forward to Monday’s shows. Thanks!
THANKS,LOUIS. MY SISTER IS EXTREMELY INTERESTED IN PURCHASING THE SAME JACKET IN A INDIGO,DENIM, AND TURQUOISE COLORS.THIS REFERS TO THE LEATHER JACKET WITH KNIT SLEEVES.
MATCHING TURTLENECK AND VNECK LONG SLEEVE KNIT TOPS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED ,TOO. AS LONG AS IT’S LEATHER AND KNIT IT WOULD BE OK FOR NEXT SEASON BUT IN A DIFFERENT DESIGN. THANKS,JOHN
Does the new ponte knit 3/4 sleeve (A236137) dress fit the way the striped cap sleeve dress fits? It looks like I am in between the sizing on this new dress. Thanks for your response in advance.
Chris
Really hard to say, since they are two different dresses with different seaming. I would hope you would take the same size.
Keeping fingers crossed on this one that I do!!LOL The Small fit me well on the striped dress. Thanks for the quick response.
Oh Dear Louis:
Just added the “fitted” knit dress in Spruce to my ordering list. The cut of that dress is why I do yoga 7 days – 365! I enjoy designing my own custom jewels & currently working on matching coil bracelets in Malachite gemstone (actually ‘a mineral’) with vermeil spacer beads to wear with a Malachite Statement necklace that I pair with Spruce Boucle Satin trim jacket & godet skirt – my Glam Power Suit! Definitely A Jewelry Dress. I’m with Blinddogs – bring on more Green! I may not be an Egyptian Princess, but that dress & my jewels will make me feel like one!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Looking at the pants on your new suit, brings to mind a question. To crease or not to crease. I’ve been told that creases are no longer proper. And when I recently took my mushroom pants to the cleaners they came back with no crease, which surprised me. It looks like there is a crease in your picture and frankly I think that looks neater. So please my Master, when should there be a crease, and when not?
Karen
Dear Karen…..I pressed the crease myself…I like it….we’ll start a trend……creases make the leg of the pant slimmer. All kidding aside…..many men’s wear looks for women are showing creased pants…I like it
Two quick double-checking co-ordination questions Louis as the exciting Monday shows approach:
1. Does the Walnut Brown of the new suede jacket work well with the Walnut of the new WK pencil skirt?
2. Does the Pewter of the new Ottoman jacket work well with the Pewter of the new WK pencil skirt.
I know you said things should coordinate well but given the different fabrications I thought I better check.
Dear Nancy….my samples are packed for the show, so I can’t check the Walnut suede to the knit….I do know the knit is darker. The grays are definitely different, and for me, do not work together.. The ottoman is bluer and the pewter is warmer.
Any chance you can give us a peek at the new irregular bead multi strand necklace (J284035)? Your jewelry is as beautiful as your clothes so I am tempted to buy this necklace sight unseen but I am struggling with which one of the three…goldtone, silvertone, or multi.
Sorry to add to all the requests. You are always so accomodating to us Linea ladies! My closet is truly becoming exclusively full of Linea and I love it!
Hello Louis, I was looking at the new suits that I have to have in both colors it looks like the fabric could be like a flannel or a soft thick fabric. I trying to FIQURE out fabric because it sometimes effects sizing for me. I am a tortured soul trying to pick and choose my August purchases. I love the lapis cardigan and turtleneck and the tank is on its way with all the ivory items. Now I really need a picture and colors in the new Boucle sweater and I will stop torturing myself.
May I make (another) request for a future item? I would love some faux ivory beads in the same colorway as your faux ivory watch. I’m totally in love with my new ivory WK sweaters and would treasure a strand of beads to go with. Maybe similar to the black and red bead necklace?
noted
Appreciated.
Is the new knit dress that was posted today (black, green, topaz) part of the new ponte group? It’s really elegant and looks very cozy too.
Dear Kate…..yes and no…it is the ponte, and is OLO, but as you see it has already been offered while the ponte OLO group is coming, I believe but not sure, in late Sept. This is a fabulous dress…The perfect LBD. The TOPAZ, which looks quite orange in their photos, matched the TOPAZ SUEDE…..and the SPRUCE GREEN works beautifully with the SPRUCE GREEN SUEDE…..the BLACK under anything looks great, but under the BLACK LEATHER JACKET…..looks HOT. It really is an Audrey dress……and the pockets are terrific.
Got it. Just ordered the black. Excited to have a cute, easy wear, new dress going into early fall.
Me Too!!!
Hi, Louis. A quick question for you please. How will the new Pewter Whisper Knit Surplice Sweater look with the Steel Grey Ribbed Knit Pencil Skirt? Will the two Greys work together? Thanks much.
Sheesh/Sheila
Dear Seesh….the two grays do work together……..the skirt is darker but they are both warm grays and very compatible.
Perfect! Thanks, Louis. Now I’ll add the Pewter Sweater to my Shopping Cart and I’ll have a great new understated, go everywhere, do anything look! Accessories galore!
HI LOUIS, MY SISTER WANTS TO KNOW IF YOU CAN TELL ME WHAT SHADE -LIGHT ,MEDIUM OR DARK IS THE BROWN WALNUT SUEDE JACKET AND WHAT IS THE QVC NUMBER OF THE LAPIS SWEATER.
WILL YOU BE HAVING MATCHING SWEATERS FOR THE WALNUT AND SPRUCE JACKETS? THANK YOU, JOHN
A72448, is the style# of the turtle neck in the Lapis….there are however other styles that are avail. In Lapis……the walnut is very dark.
Hi Louis!
I love the monochromatic look & hoping my Caramel WK Tneck will go with the upcoming Camel suit? Could you check your samples with this pairing, please?
TIA
Sorry Pamela….the Caramel doesn’t work at all But the good news is the silk and cashmere sweaters are coming in the exact camel od the suit, which is a real camel hair color….the caramel is much too pink.
Perfection in Posh! Can’t wait to get my Blonde on – my hubby loves me in Camel.
Thank you so much.
Louis, Just received my surplice sweaters (all colors) and — WOW — this is a really nice sweater! It is SO beautifully made and just looks great on. I sized down as I usually do in WK and the fit is so perfect, length is perfect. I think all the Linea Ladies will love the neckline! Thank you so much for such a beautiful sweater. Now waiting for my shawl collars to ship!
Dear Jane that’s great news. You’re the first review I heard so that’s music to my ears….PLEASE don’t forget to post your review on the Linea QVC site, and if you could on the forum….because the ladies all love to hear about the fit of the cloths….especially if you sized down and was pleased…it would be important to say what size you normally wear and what size you purchased……..many don’t know how to order due to the smaller measurements because of the ribbing.
Louis, I am really so happy with this sweater! It is so well made, so beautifully constructed. From the close-ups in your sneak peeks, I suspect the shawl collars will be equally well made. When I put this sweater on, it reminded me of some knitwear I used to buy in the 60s and 70s — Kimberly Knits. They were made of 100% wool and sometimes a wool/acrylic blend — beautifully made, fabulous colors — dresses with jackets and 3-piece suits. They came in boxes, folded with tissue like the precious pieces they were. That’s what immediately came to mind when I tried this beautiful surplice sweater on. Thank you!!
I have already written a glowing review for this item on the QVC site.
I do remember Kimberly knits
LDO, I love me some whisper knit, but the drape cardigan and tank might just be my favorite so far. Especially the ruby! Which is not to say that I didn’t do some major swooning over the sexy surplice or the straight off the runway peasant…
Sorry..forgot to ask you in my last posts. Will there be a sneak peek of those gorgeous Caviar and Camel suits that we have been chatting about? I am drooling over them! Thanks so much for everything you do for us.
Of course!
Thanks, Louis. I know that I am already in for the camel, but will check out the caviar color. Enjoy the Yankees game, but we are in a rain delay!
I’m watching it right now!
Hi Louis..I have long salt and pepper hair, so I am enthralled with all of the grey and black and will definitely purchase both Ottoman jackets. I am also intrigued by the Caviar color of your new beautiful suit. I know you mentioned that it has a blue cast, but is it much more grey and black than blue? Just trying to decide what would look good with my coloring.
Many thanks from your “across the Sound” neighbor in Huntington, New York, and die-hard and loyal Yankees fan.
Dear Ellen……..I would hate to steer you wrong……. describing color is impossible…..It is dark, but it is not your usual grey as a matter of fact all other grays look terrible with it. There is a blue green tint to the grey…..I know what is that……it looks like caviar eggs….. If when you see it on air and you aren’t sure I would say Black or Camel would be your best bet. The suit is truly special, the workmanship the seaming and all of the details make this an extremely beautiful jacket.
Caviar intrigues me and sounds like it will pair well with jewel tones? Navy, teal, maybe blue purples? Could you tell me the fabrication of this jacket? It will be very hard to pass up one of the ottomans, but I may have to for this one!
Dear Louis,
I saw your post about a shipping snafu on an item. I just received a notice from QVC that the XXS walnut skirt I ordered way back on the 17th is not available and they are going to try to get additional stock from the vendor. Any idea what that is about? I have ordered two addition Walnut WK sweaters to go with that skirt and have the blazer and sweater from last year so will be very disapointed if I miss out.
Dear Pepper….The snafu had to do with a jewelry item, I have no idea what this is about, but I will forward your e-mail to my manufacturer and maybe they will have an answer. I did see that three of the smallest sizes were sold out.
Dear Pepper….OK, this is what my manufacturer told me. The skirt in the walnut in xxs, xs and sm is sold out. They know nothing about more coming and have not been contacted by anyone to manufacture more. So I do not know where they got that info from………..sorry to bring you disappointing news.
Louis, could you please post a photo of your necklace, just posted on the Q? It is item number J284035. Is this the same torsade shown on some of your WK sweater sneaks?
I cannot find a sneak of the multi color bead one….
Thank you,
Mary Kellogg
Yes, it is the same, and as soon as I get a free moment to photo them I will post.
Thank you for the sneak of this necklace! FAB! You’re the best!
Me, too. I’d love to see the multi color.
Hi Louis,
I spied your drawing of the ponte tunic in blue – I’m interested to see that one! One of my all time favorite throw-on pieces is A91273 – a slim little ponte tunic with a jewel neck and three big buttons at the back. I’ve had this in a fawn color forever – it wears like iron, still looks perfect and somehow manages to look expensive, without that shiny thing that some polyester ponte fabrics have.
I’m hoping the new ponte is similar. And if you ever want to bring back an oldie but goodie … this little tunic is a sleeper, but a real winner!
I think you will be more than happy with the new OLO PONTE group and the new styles coming in Dec’ There will also be a fab new jacket on the Sept show….but THAT’S ALL I’m SAYING until this show is OVER…and OUT
Could you please tell us if the new marled cowl neck top is a sweater knit or a woven? There are no picture up on the QVC website yet, but it is available to order. Thanks Louis, as always, for your fantastic designs!!
KK
It’s a knit. Sneak peeks tomorrow
Dear Louis,
Help! QVC has put up A236139, your marled cowl neck on the website with no picture. Could you give us a sneak peek FAST? I’m afraid that my XXS will sell out before I get to preview the colors. (They often seem to stock about 5 XXS and they go fast!)
Tomorrow morning ..tonight I have a date with the Yankees
Yvette, look on the sneak peak with the models packaging. I think I spotted the marled cowl neck there. I ordered mine already. I think you could order it tonight and wait for the photo to post or Louis’ sneak peak and still cancel before midnight if it’s not to your liking. I see a skirt with it that has black trim down the front. Really, really striking.
Dear Louis,
Have you shown us the lapis tunic?
Thanks,
dariann
No that is a ponte piece which will be OLO
Dear Louis: I just received my WN cardigans and they are BEAUTIFUL and the fit is perfect. Thank-you for making such beautiful sweaters!! I can not wait till this weekend I will have the blue one on with white pants. Thank-you Renee
The new “Irregular Bead” necklace (betting Q gave it that name) is on wait list, including one that’s mixed with chocolate brown. Is this the multi-strand metallic necklace you used in one of your sneak peeks?
I haven’t seen the post but it must be…there was some stupid shipping snafu and they had to be reshipped, but the good news is they are in the states!
Hi Louis
I think we all be in the “poor house” by October, but won’t we look goof wearing all our Linea!
Kathy/Wis
OH NO WAIT UNTIL Nov and DEC!!!! LOL
Louis,
Is the cowl neck same material as A235311. People said to size up -that is was more fitted.
Is this larger or stay with your normal size.
Thanks again
Dear njlady they are not the same material, and I would NOT size up. the T shirt with the short sleeve may have been little more fitted, from looking at my xs samples I would say keep with your size….but always read the QVC garment measurements.
Dear Louis and Linea Ladies,
I wanted to respond to the lady who thought you could not hem a whisper knit skirt. I am here to tell you that I have had great success in having both knit pants and skirts hemmed over the years. Knit fabrics such as cotton, rayon, polyester, silk, wool, spandex, and combinations of these fabrics have done just fine when I have taken them to a seamstress or tailor for hemming.
Hemming is actually one of the easiest (and cheapest) operations a seamstress or tailor can do for you. If you don’t already have a good seamstress or tailor, ask your friends for suggestions. Don’t ever pass on a skirt or pair of pants because they may need to be hemmed.
I always ask for the seamstress or tailor to give me back the fabric that was cut off from the item I had hemmed, if there was any. I then fold it in half gather it, and make a cute coordinating lapel flower pin. If I have a contrasting color piece of fabric, I put that behind the primary color for a nice dual color effect.
Also, if you or a friend or relative are going to hem a knit, be sure to use ball point needles so you do not mess up the fabric by splitting the thread with a regular needle.
Dear Patti…..you sound like a woman who knows what she is talking about! That is great advise, and thank you for sharing that with all of us….it’s a question that keeps coming up. From now on I’ll tell them to “see Patti”.
thank you Patti, I’ll ask my seamstress. I ordered the black WK skirt to try it.
Dee
Hi Louis, I am waiting for a “big” order coming soon; 5 necklaces, 2 wk v-neck sweaters, and the green leather/knit blazer to go with my olive faux silk skirt (and other things, of course). I have the boysenberry blouse and have gotten confused about the tweed jacket (to come), which one is the best match for this blouse? I also am thinking that boysenberry blouse would look good with the green jacket and skirt, what do you think? I want the experts opinion, lol. Thanks for all you do, and may I just say…”The Ottoman Suit”…to die for! You are sending me to the poor house this month, haha
Dear Ann…..the tweeds won’t be here until Sept 25th. I promise when the time is right it will be all clear to you. I let you know everything, but lets get through the Aug 26th show first or the ladies will really get confused.
Ok, I guess it will be better to wait…I am getting ahead of myself. Hope you enjoyed the game. Thanks again.
Hi Louis,
They aren’t listing the Ottomon Jacket yet. So a question about sizing. I’m usually a medium in your jackets. But jackets don’t need to close. Being this has a dual zipper – is it a bit larger in the middle so you can zipper close it?
The peblum jacket – i couldn’t button but the 3/4 zippered grey/purple I could zipper.
Thanks – they probably won;t put in till midnite before show.
Also, I saw the sneak peaks on another jacket & a fuscia cowl neck
Will you be showing soon.
Love the new designs
Dear njlady….I really don’t like to give fit advise since I have no idea what you look like. I will say the jacket has plenty of stretch and since it is unlined will not be restrictive at all. I’d hate to see you get it too big, so I would suggest to stay with your own size…..the double zips will help a lot depending how you position them.
The new marled cowl has been posted to order. Maybe you can make this your next sneak?
crdlb
WOW…..I have it all lined up already….tomorrow morning be on the look out….tonight I have a date with the Yankees!
How fun! You deserve a night out for sure!
crdlb
Louis, So many wonderful things in this show — but, just wondering, is the fushcia blazer in this show or later in the season?
Just FYI — the new cowl neck A236139 is already up on QVC for ordering but without pictures.
The fuchsia jacket will be avail in Oct. As I just said to Carol….I will post my sneak peeks on the cowl top and skirt tomorrow
Louis, is last year’s drawstring pant returning? Thank you.
unfortunately no…..to many returns.
Hi Louis!
I’m loving all these sneak peeks and the new whisper knit line. I purchased the striped dress in cherry to wear now. I love it! It was not shown any other way, but by itself. What would you pair with this color to carry it into the cooler months?
Hello Louis! I’d like to know what you think about pairings with this dress as well. Would the cherry drape-front jacket work? The burgundy leather jacket with knit sleeves? I have some cute wine booties to wear with this dress as well. Can’t wait for the 26th!
Dear Judy….yes yes yes the Cherry drape front jacket may not be what one would expect paired with the dress but that is exactly what I like about it. The burgundy leather isn’t an exact exact match but I think they look great together and coming in Sept I will have a new Ponte jacket and another OLO Ponte jacket in a deep wine that looks great with the dress….so don’t worry I’ll have you covered…LOL
Dewar Susan please see my reply to Judy S in Mass…lyou both asked the same question…..if you need more help I’ll be glad to help you more.
Hi Louis,
You may not have seen my question under the shawl collar section. How do the FJ pants in the smoke look with this pewter sweater over it? Do they clash?
Also from the newly posted shawl collar page — the click here measurements are slightly smaller for my particular size. I see it says ‘fitted’ but how fitted will it be in my usual size? Should I go up a size or will there be enough stretch in this knit to look like I am not wearing a too tight top if I stay with my usual size? What would you recommend? I’m a 38B bust & 32 waist for reference.
Thanks for your response in advance.
Regards,
Chris
I did see your question, but ignored it LOL…JUST KIDDING….I honestly didn’t see it…..The smoke and pewter don’t work at all together…sorry. There is a lot of stretch those ribs give and give…rib measurements are always smaller otherwise they would bag. Do not size up….when others have in the past they were sorry. Knit measurements are tricky,….especially sweaters….when they seem too small it usually means they stretch a lot. My team never fits to small.
Louis, I asked this before but missed the answer. Will there be a re-order of the black sunburst pleated skirt from last year. So sorry I did not get it, but a have enjoyed the green one……. Thanks
Sorry to say …no…I love that skirt but the returns were too high….sometimes I just don’t know….it’s a great skirt..with permanent pleats….light as a feather and is SLIMMING…..would have loved to add colors, but it’s a no.
I love this skirt and get so many complements on it when worn with the black WK tunic and your pearl, black & gold bead long necklaces. So easy care, the pleats don’t flatten out, and it IS slimming. It is one of my favorites when the look day-to-night is needed.
I love that skirt too – Very slimming indeed! Fell in love with Mariano Fortuny upon attending Tina Chow exhibit @ NYC Fashion Institute (early 90’s?) before the Christie Auction. Those pleated silks remain a vivid memory within her collection. Please consider incorporating ‘those’ pleats in your future designs.
I am mad for this skirt, too. We have a fan club here, but it is one without a future. Have it in both black and tarragon and am ever so grateful that I was clever enough to take a chance on it (almost too late). I was one of those fools who turned her back on it at first, but then I decided to take a chance. I fell insanely in love with it once I tried it on! They are fantastic with sweaters — or jackets with a tee or blouse underneath. When I take a chance on Linea, I so often have the most delightful surprise.
Wear and love this skirt a LOT! In both colors but do use the black more frequently. It’s one of my “no-brainer” skirts and comfortable? You bet.
Hi Louis,
So many wonderful things to choose from–thank you, thank you, thank you!
Question: Will the whisper knits in pewter go with the ottoman jacket in grey and the jacket in caviar????
Carol
Sorry to say Carol no. In an ideal world they would but the CAVIAR isn’t a true gray….like some caviar, that isn’t black, there is a lot of blue in it….so it’s more of a blue gray…than gray….it’s a very different and interesting color….that’s why I have chosen to pair it with a different color such as the aubergine…..but many colors will work. The ottoman on the other hand is a cooler gray than the pewter which is warm. When you are dealing with heather colors you basically have to use what the yarn mill offers and they only had two heather grays in stock…..a very dark charcoal that would have competed with the black or the one I chose, which is more of a mid range grey. Don’t think you need a match….think compatible…..that’s why I chose the mushroom for an elegant NEUTRAL pallet….Greys , in general are difficult to match so if you want the match in the pewter get the skirt otherwise think….contrast.
Thanks, Louis. I have already ordered the pewter WK skirt and two of the WK tops in pewter. I love the tailored classic styling of the jackets that you are showing. Both the ottoman and the jacket in caviar are calling to me. When I first saw the topaz suede jacket I thought that I didn’t need it since I already have the topaz seamed jacket from last year and living in Florida our winter season is so short. Well, now the topaz suede jacket is at the top of my list to purchase. It’s just so versatile and I know that I will enjoy it for many years to come. I think this season has got to be your best yet! Keep them coming!
Carol
Dear Carol….if you have the Topaz seamed jacket maybe you should consider the Walnut suede ….it really is FABULOUS and looks so good with bright colors which could work very well in Florida…..just a suggestion. wait to see them in the show.
Thanks for the suggestion, Louis. I’ll definitely be watching the shows!
Carol

Sorry about that, didn’t realize I had not put in my name and that it went through without it. Thanks for your time, when you have any. 🙂
no problem…..I take breaks from working ….play with my dogs or answer questions….lol
Louis,
I am loving the whisper knits and I ordered several pieces. I was wondering if the walnut pieces would go with black. Thanks. I have enjoyed wearing your floral pieces this summer.
The walnut is extremely dark so if you put them together some might think it’s a miss match….I happen to like them together. I would do all black accessories to really contrast with the walnut…belt, tights shoes etc.
Hey Louis,
When will the petite pants be avaiable?
On the 26th of Aug.
So Louis, After reviewing the models clothes and accessories, can you please tell me what that yummy pumpkin set is with the black beret? I thought it was released with the flecked blue, fuchsia and gray(?) 2 piece set, but I don’t see that color anywhere. Will this be new on this next show??? You are showing it with the topaz leather and knit jacket. I WANT that and I think it will look wonderful on us redheads!!
It will be on the 11pm show….and your right….it will look great on red heads it’s Topaz and black and also looks great with last years Topaz jacket and all the new WK topaz sweaters
Hi Louis! Confession time: I love jackets and have entirely too many for a woman living in a subtropical climate. My only excuse is that for me they’re outerwear. Last year I couldn’t resist your leather knit jacket in black and in tarragon, as well as the faux fur in black. But now I have a yen for a RED Linea jacket. I know that the new suede/knit jacket will come in red, but I’ve read in your posts that there will be one or two other leather or suede jackets. Will either of those be offered in red? And WHEN is each coming to us? I tried to keep track of your answers to all of the questions, but now I’m kind of lost. I definitely don’t want to miss out on a red Linea jacket!
Dear Yvette….don’t be lost…..the suede/knit jacket that will be on Aug 26th will be in Spruce Green, Topaz and Walnut….no red……the leather reorder is again in Black, Tarragon and the new Bordeaux….no red…………….In Oct there will be a LEATHER/KNIT zip front shorter jacket that will be avail in a beautiful Ruby Red….that’s the one you want. There will be no other suede or leather jackets for the season.
Oh thank you, Louis! That means I may have to get the suede in topaz or spruce green on Aug. 26th, then I can order the red leather in Oct. I’ll actually have a whole jacketless month in between. I mean, that’s showing some restraint, isn’t it?
Yes Yvette……….keep telling your self that!……..of course you haven’t seen the jackets coming in Sept or Oct…….or Nov. or Dec…….HOLD BACK…………If I remember correctly you live in the great state of Louisiana. Since, I spent six months at Fort Polk, I do remember it getting quite cool in Jan and Feb, or am I dreaming…..it was a long time ago.
Thank you for alerting us to new postings. I ordered the scoop neck sweater(A237410)
and the long necklace which I was delighted to see comes in gunmetal and amber. Just what I need. More. More.
Looking forward to Aug 26.
Louis, will any of the new pants come in petite length? Please say Yes!!!!
Yes
hooray
Hi Louis, I feel like an elementary schoolgirl awaiting the first day of a new school year!!! I’m so excited to see all your new additions next week!! So, first question, will the ottoman suit only be in the 2 colors shown in your sneak peak: grey and spruce green? Secondly, the jackets – I noticed the ribbed and leather jacket with the big pockets in front was on 4 pay yesterday, so I ordered it in the black. I usually wear small in your styles although I wear a standard size 10 in others. Do you think the Small in the black leather jacket will be okay? I thought about getting the new burgundy color, but opted for the black because I don’t have one. The topaz and gunmetal jewelry sound wonderful. Can’t wait to see them and everything else!! One of your best students……..
“Red”
Nancy did you look at my sneak peek??? There are three collages and one clearly says….BLACK OTTOMAN…..LOL….I know the photos of the black look grey, but as I explained in the copy of the sneak peek….it’s due to the flash….The suit will be avail in BLACK…..SPRUCE GREEN and HEATHER GREY.
I know, Louis, slap my hands. I was naughty and got carried away. I LOVED those collage photos and just now finished blowing them up and looking at them more closely. I think I saw some things I haven’t seen a sneak peak on also! Love the long true blue top – very chic. I have to ask forgiveness for responding before thoroughly studying. I was just so overwhelmed!! Seriously, Louis, I really can’t wait!! Wonderful, wonderful season and a lot of excitement building among your ladies. I just ordered the topaz and gunmetal necklace. Earrings aren’t up yet.
OK. I’m confused AND disappointed. I could SWEAR that you told us, and showed us here on the sneak peeks of the WK peasant sweater – that the fluted and smooth bead necklace would be coming in MULTI – a configuration I LOVE! But the new fluted and smooth bead necklace is now up and posted and it definitely does not (yet? she said HOPEFULLY) come in a multi option. There are four color options but they are all single color with gold beads. J284036
Louis, perhaps there are TWO different LONG necklaces? One that comes in a single color with gold beads and a different one – not yet available – that comes in multi? You did say on the multi – “in time for Christmas”?
There are TWO and only two necklaces with color beads. The long one has gold oblong beads with single color beads red, blue or green], orit is also avail in gunmetal with Topaz. The necklace coming later which is shown with the violet sweater is a 5 strand short necklace that has random gold round beads. It will be gold with red or gold with green beads. It will also be gold with multi color beads which is what I think you are referring to…..this necklace has all glass colored beads.
Thank you Louis! Once again I am SO grateful for your sneak peeks. The Q pictures of J284036 make it look somewhat washed out. The two pictures here in which you are showing this necklace – and NOT the shorter bead necklace that will come in multi (thanks for clearing that up) – show this long necklace as ANYTHING but washed out in color!!! The Q picture of course does not even come close!
Today I received my first 2 new WK pencil skirts – rich/deep/dark Walnut and that GORGEOUS pewter! The rest of my online only WK items are all still sitting in the warehouse 3 days after ordering. [Of COURSE I know you have nothing to do with any of that ;)] Other Linea Ladies tell me at the Q Linea blog that they are waiting 4 and 5 days before their Linea items leave the warehouse. Anyways, I was so STRUCK when I put these skirts on at how different they felt from last years longer pencil skirt (blk, fawn, pp). I immediately went to the closet and checked the fabrication components. Holy Smokes! What a difference in feel these WK (with the nylon) are from my other 3 longer pencil skirts (with the wool). I love last years of course – it’s just that they are completely different animals from these new WK pencil skirts. It is glorious how SMOOTH these WK skirts are. So of course I had to go right back online and order a second Black pencil skirt in the new WK (since I already have malachite and violet sitting around in the warehouse until Q finally decides to feel like shipping). …So now, how about matching Linea tights for all these beauties? Just Kidding and ducking before you can swat …:)
I asked about doing matching tights through Legacy, since that’s their brand of choice, but no go.
Recently I heard Marie Osmond talk about having helped create a program at the Q a while back called “Quite-a-Pair” as she presented a doll recently on which she paired up with Angel from Quacker Factory who made a matching outfit coming for the holidays to the one Marie created for her doll. I’m not a doll fan and caught that moment of the show by accident, but I thought – that’s a darn good idea. SO, IF such a program does indeed exist already at the Q – why on earth would they not be willing to jump at the chance to increase Legacy’s market share by pairing up with Linea to create matching shade tights for the Linea Fall wardrobe line????? I absolutely do NOT, and begin to think that I never will be able to, understand this company’s decisions, operating policies, and short-sightedness at times!!!
What can we say? Until then, I’ve had the best luck with ranges of colors on welovecolors.com, in reg and plus sizes.
Dear Nancy…..I just took a look at the new necklace posted on the Linea Jewelry site, and you are so right. Once again the photos are less then enticing…..it’s a wonder they sell anything from these photos. The colors are all washed out because they are back lit, and when you back light a clear bead you wash away the color…..the colors are not even accurate but that’s par for the course. You don’t get any feeling for the size or dimension of the beads, and you can’t even tell that some of the color beads are smooth and some are carved……..I have shown these on the models already, but I see sneak peeks re in order………………
Yup. We would ALL benefit from your classy jewelry sneak-peeks on this one! And I am SWOONING – I mean I’m having to hold on to my office chair – over the new Ottoman suit pieces!!!! I LOVE it that you said that you don’t need the whole matching suit to pull off a GLAM outfit. As the owner of 4 of your former ottoman knit jackets with the gold buttons [I’ve mentioned them to you before and just recently] and 3 of the shorter ottoman knit jackets w 3/4 sleeves and matching buttons….. I definitely plan to spring for EVERY SINGLE color of this Ottoman knit jacket – no matter what they cost! I’m certain that together with the new WK pieces I find as “musts” and a couple more WK turtlenecks AND a couple of bead necklaces ~ that I won’t be getting the ottoman skirts just yet. But as an Ottoman knit owner and lover – I know for a fact that I will wear these 3 jackets to death! And yes, since we’ve discussed this, I understand that the fabrication differs somewhat on the new jackets from the older versions. No matter. I know how fabulous these are in the dead of the New England winters! And like Jac – I’m CRAZY over the 2 way-zippers (LOVE them on my tortoise shell jackets) and I’m CRAZY for the construction details on these jackets! I’m so excited! ……On the matching tights – does the Q STILL not “get” us Linea Ladies???? Matching tights would sell in a heartbeat!
Dear Louis:
Is your waist whittling sweater the one with buttons and tie at the neck coming back
with a new color? I have every color and love it.
Will the Red one match the new Red Cardigan?
Thank-you so much Renee
Louis, I wanted to see if the Ribbed Jewel Neck Waist Whittle – A210360 will have new colors? I especially want that one in Ruby! love the color! I thought I read on one of your post that one would come in Ruby. Thanks so much! Can’t wait to watch your presentation on Monday the 26th.
Judy
Dear Judy ….that sweater is coming back and two new colors have been added…..a cadet blue and a red, don’t remember the name, but it’s not ruby….it has more wine in it like a claret……it’s gorgeous and both colors will coordinate with the new checks and tweeds coming in Sept.
To all the Lines Ladies:
The WN Tanks are on line to order!!!!!
I just orderd all mine.
Is your Surplice sweater page still here? I might be doing something wrong. I’ve got a big list going. Some should arrive today. Thank you.

Dear Louis:
With ‘all the new’ – I almost missed out on your Leopard topper in Ecru (A203505)before closeout. My Mr. Handsome arrives soon @ airport; he said to wear something Wild & Red. Once again, Linea saves the day or evening in this case! It’s a beautiful print in your comfy Cotton – makes a little RED dress look real special!
Dreaming of things to come.
Hi Louis,
Would you consider doing a black WK mini skirt? All your skirts are too long on me. Im thinking 18 inches maybe…just thought Id ask and see what the other ladies think.
thank you, Dee
It’s not a matter of me considering it…it’s really matter of…would they buy it…..they don’t even buy normal petite skirts let alone a mini.
Ok Louis,
thats a shame. For us women with nice legs, we like to show them off. WK cant be hemmed. 🙂 Like many women on the Q, I have 30 tops of yours and in my case, 1 skirt, the shorter version of your boho. p.s would love that in walnut and aubergine!
thank you. Dee
FYI….women have shortened their acrylic/wool skirts which are the same knit in a different yarn, so I think,it is possible to hem them…….a good question for the forum.
thanks. I’ll check.
Dear Louis,
I have had many, many knit pants and skirts of various fiber combinations hemmed with great success over the years. Cotton, wool, silk, nylon, spandex, rayon, polyester, and various combinations of these fabric have been hemmed just fine.
NEVER PASS ON BUYING A GARMENT BECAUSE IT NEEDS HEMMING. Hemming is one of the easiest things a tailor can do for you. If you don’t have a tailor, ask your friends for their recommendations.
By the way, I always ask my tailor to give me the fabric they have cut off from the hemming job, if there is any. I gather it (with or without another contrasting fabric)and make a little flower lapel pin from it. It looks great when I top the pants or skirts with a solid contrasting or tweed jacket. Hope that helps you if you are on the fence about buying something that needs to be hemmed.
Patti
Hi Louis
I too would love a shorter or petite version of the WK pencil skirt. At 5’3″, the length offered is too long even to fold over at the waist. 18″ would be too short for me but, 21″ would be great. The picture you show with the walnut shawl collar WK sweater & matching skirt is just beautiful. Thank you.
