Hi Louis, I have another question. Other than sizing and colors please explain the difference in the coming new ponte pants and the other ponte pants A233639 that are still available in some sizes. Will the A233639 pants in black be an exact match to the new black ponte zip jacket?
Louis, my hauls of asymmetrical jackets, petite matching pants plus Ottoman jackets have at last arrived. LOVE!!! Wow, both fabrics are awesome. You really scouted out some great fabrics. Both fit great and I really appreciate how well the asymmetrical one fits my low waist. Along with the others, I’m on board for the ponte pieces. I have the tortoise jacket – so comfy and a “go-to” favorite for tough workdays. I have question about the sapphire. I have the Limoges blue ponte jacket. How does the sapphire compare to the Limoges? It looks pretty close, but that could just be the flash. Or, is it closer to the new Lapis blue? Thanks. Deb.
Dear Diamondscribe….the Limoges and the Lapis are closest, but the Lapis is even deeper and more saturated……the Sapphire is more of a Royal Blue….it has more purple compared to the Lapis and Limoges….but it is BLUE.
Hi Louis,
I have a question regarding the multi strand necklaces. I am on waitlist for all three but I noticed in one of your pictures that there is a silver/gold multi strand necklace and the silver/gold earring that match. Do you have item numbers for these and when will these be available?
Thank you for all your wonderful clothes and jewelry.
Dear Marianne….you’ll have to tell me which picture. There isn’t any silver gold combination necklace, but I do remember layering one on top of the other. There also isn’t a silver gold combo earring
Hi Louis,
Do we get a sneak peak of the ruby jacket scheduled for Monday’s PMS show?
Pleeeeeeze
Yes……they are also going to have a live hit Sunday evening, but I’m not sure when….I think 8pm
Hold on!! Are you saying we might be able to purchase them without staying up until midnight?
Yes, no need to stay up…… they are part of my OLO program and will be posted on the new “Linea Ponte” page
Thought you were talking about the topper jacket.
I was asking about the ruby boucle topper that he mentioned would be on the designer PMS show Monday.
Carol,
I wish I had your experience!! My topaz and walnut suede jackets had terrible wrinkles. I was prepared to take them for pressing –so the wrinkles didn’t worry me. But the odor was awful. Even after 2 days of airing and hanging they were not wearable. What a mystery that some jackets came in perfect condition and others with wrinkles and smell. I wish I had been in your camp with perfect jackets…but alas…..On the bright side, maybe that leaves me with a few extra dollars for upcoming Spet/Oct shows!
For those whose jackets have an odor, I have read that many cartons that are transported into US are fumigated to prevent new insects or unwanted creatures from entering our country hidden in the boxes. That may be a possibility in this case.
This is an ongoing problem that I have heard for years now….there doesn’t seem to be a solution…….It’s like Russian Roulette…..you either get a good one or you don’t…..I wish QVC would check them befor shipping them. I can assure you they do not smell when they are shipped from the factory. Something happens between the factory and QVC.
Hi, Louis. Do you recall the Boucle Jacket with the Asymmetrical “hem” (for lack of a better description) from a few years ago—could be 4-5 years now—I’m losing track. Well, there were chemical odor issues with that jacket as well—it actually smelled “fishy” as I recall. I hung mine in the garage for a week or two and the odor fully dissipated. Whomever has issues with the new Suede jacket has to persevere—they odor will be gone, in time—might not be a day or two—but it will subside competently. My Spruce Suede jacket had no issues (other than slight wrinkling, which I will remedy)…it seems the odor issues are with the Topaz Suede from what I am reading on the Forum—could it be in the Topaz dye?
Loving the new OLO Ponte Knits—especially the tunic top that is the same as the Pebble Crepe tunic top.
Thanks again, Louis, for all you do for us. Warmest regards to Jac.
Dear Louis, My three new luscious pieces from your last show finally arrived! QVC is giving me free shipping and handling on my next order because of the delay. I now am the most pleased, confident owner of A72448 WK TN in mushroom (plus many others I have), A236148 boucle V-neck in spruce and A236139 marled top in teal! I’ll save my detailed praises for the reviews 🙂 They are absolutely exceptional!
Now I’m looking so forward to the new ponte knit jacket and pant! I’m especially excited about the elastic waist pant in letter sizes although no pockets were mentioned. I’m loving that ponte knit in the TSV! Can’t wait for more sneak-peeks 🙂
Louis, could you please create/offer a line of accessories such as the beret you feature? I would love to buy a LDO beret/scarf set…
Also, any idea when your new jewelry will be in stock at the warehouse at Q?
Thanks so much
mlk
Dear Mary……I have been asked this many times….and I tried to sell them to QVC, but they weren’t interested. I will have the POSH KNIT mufflers in all of the Posh Knit colors.
Dear louis,
Will the “Linea Ponte” OLO pant be offered in petites?
thanks! Jacket looks great..
Unfortunately no.
Dear Louis,
I finally received my order from your last show (finally!) and the ottoman suit is everything you said it is and more. My topaz suede jacket arrived, too, and it is a beauty as well. But it has an overpowering chemical smell, which many of the ladies are reporting on the QVC Linea forum. It seems to be mostly the topaz jackets with this problem. I plan on hanging mine outside as much as possible in hopes that the smell will go away, but I have my doubts. I will be heartbroken if I have to return this jacket! I thought that this was something you would want to be aware of – there will undoubtedly be a number of returns as a result of this problem.
My topaz jacket is perfect and the smell I have is the smell of suede, which will dissipate over time. Just wanted you to know that there are plenty of perfectly fine topaz jackets that were delivered.
Thank goodness for that……but it really bothers me to no end for the ones that aren’t. I don’t understand what goes on that some are fine and some have this stench. I have asked my manufacturer to look into this. I can be afraid every time I do a suede jacket that it’s going to be Russian roulette who gets a good one and who gets a bad one…………..enjoy your lovely smelling suede jacket!!!
Hi Louis –
I noticed online that A-83962 (silk-cashmere T-neck) has some new colors posted. Are these the same as your new “posh knit” sweaters? Would the camel color go well with the camel pants (A-236146). They just arrived. Love, love, love! I am on waitlist for the black. They are so flattering and fresh looking. Also got the suede jacket in topaz. What a beautiful color. Keep the hits coming. Can’t wait for your next shows. I love fall clothes.
Dear Chrystene, the camel TN is the Posh Knit and it does match the pant. That’s how I showed it in the show.
Just receiveJewel neck tunic in Bordeaux. What a fabulous color!!!Thank you.
I just wanted to know if you are going to be on QVC any date in Sept. besides Sept. 25?
Dear Judy….YES….I will be on Sept 9th, on a special PM Style. Then I have my two hour show on the 25th from 4pm to 6pm
Good Evening Louis:
Comparatively speaking, which of the models has the broadest shoulders? Even tho you rarely work with Chantal – always felt she fills out a jacket much like me, but my HDTV could be wrong? I do size up in your more “fitted” styles, then tailor down.
TIA
Dear Pamela…..Chantal has very STRAIGHT and broad shoulders….she hardly has any slope at all. Jac also has broad shoulders, but she does have a natural slope.
hi Louis.
I sadly cancelled my wait list for the Walnut Suede Jacket because of the reviews of the wrinkles. The jacket looks marvelous and although I don’t need it I WANT it.
However, the marled skirt arrived this evening and it is WONDERFUL. Of all your skirts I own this own fits the best. The style is perfect. Please try to do more like this.
Love ya,
82 and still a fan!!!!
I received 2 of the suede jackets today and they are perfect, no wrinkles!!! Absolutely love the fit. Some of the reviews say the jacket runs small, it is fitted…at first I thought oh! this is too tight and then I reminded myself that this is a “jacket”, not an outerwear “coat”. Both jackets have plenty of room to go over whisper knit sweaters and as far as the vest goes, which I will try to get, I wouldn’t zip the jacket with the vest under it anyway. So there you go….my take on the suede jackets.
Good to hear Sherry….you are absolutely right….this was not meant as an outerwear jacket, though in some climates it can be worn that way, but they wouldn’t have the need to wear anything under it more than a WK. You are right again when you describe how you would wear the jacket and vest. There is NO REASON why you would even want to zip the jacket if you have the vest on…..the idea is to show it…… not hide it.
Dear Beryl……sorry to hear you canceled your jacket. I think the percentage of jackets with any problems is low, and it really is a beauty, especially in the WALNUT. If I were you I would have taken the chance, but you have to do what you feel is best for you, and I certainly understand……there is always more to come.
Louis, will there be any knit skirts in aubergine. I loved the look of the aubergine skirt with the persimmon cardigan that you showed last year. I was hoping you would have an aubergine skirt this year. I am enjoying all my new things and can’t wait for it to get cold here so I can start wearing them.
No …..no skirts are planned in aubergine for this year
Dear louis,
I just received my pants in camel and caviar. I love them, but they are larger than pants of the same size 12p. So if there are returns, this maybe the case. The are larger in the hips and waist, and are a little longer in the rise than other styles. I do not think they are so large I will return but I did want you to know. Thanks for all you do for us, and for asking our opinions.
Debbie
I will let my manufacturer know. I wish there were more of a science to this since we always fit on the same fit model, but since humans are involved there can always be a slight variation…..even from pant to pant in the same style.
Hi Louis
You asked.. I would like to see the lace jacket in solid Black, without the tan trim and the blazer in black and aubergine, I keep missing out on your black blazers.
I love your new shawl collar WK sweater and would LOVE it in aubergine. thank you, Dee
Dear Dee….I am not allowed to change anything about a reorder style….other than the color.
They really restrict you don’t they? So much for squelching a real talent. I owned an art gallery in Cambridge,Ma and really feel for the frustations arists feel.
Actually, they really don’t. I know that is the general feeling, but I give them lots to choose from, so in the end we are all happy.
Dear Louis.
PLEASE continue the belted twill Safari jacket with matching Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Slash Pocket Fly Front Trouser Pants [A227581 and A227582].
This is not only a Classic but Super-Classic. The color Mushroom would fit in with your ‘pearl’ trend; and, this outfit in black, in white, in walnut, and in any other colors you find appropriate would be thrilling.
Some may not call it ‘dressy’ but I do (!). [Maybe not for New Year’s Eve, but] with a silk shirt and a vintage brooch, NOTHING could be more sophisticated for almost any occasion. Love this! It’s wonderful we can rely on you for this iconic look.
Thanks for the opportunity to write in.
Dear Joan…..I’m afraid those pieces were not reordered, but since it’s a look I love too, I always do variations of of it.
I would like to see this style repeated, too.
Hello Louis,
I passed on A228554, the leather & rib knit blazer last year. Didn’t need it. Then I read the reviews. So happy to get it in black this time around. Just incredible.
I would so love to have exactly this combination in a skirt, much like the styling of the recent ottoman knit skit. Not to wear with the blazer, but with all my many, many WK sweaters. I see that leather skirts are making a return to fashion. This would be one that those of us with hips, etc. could actually sit in, LOL!
Just betting I’m not the only one who would go for this for next fall…
Louis: May I suggest you go to the QVC community page and check the post under “clouds in my coffee” since it appears I am not alone with my problem. Thanks
Thank you….I have also asked my manufacturer to read it.
I am happy to report that my spruce suede jacket came in with very few wrinkles and they are almost gone after just hanging them.
I love all of my new things. Not a compliant or concern on anything.
Hi, Louis, I am commenting on your request for color feedback on some of the clothes you had asked for. I purchased the A233187 in turquoise and black, and I noticed how quickly that top sold out. I can’t tell how terrific that style is, both in fabric and color. I look much better in jewel colors, and I never buy pastels because I look so washed out in them. I hope you will bring that top back in some saturated colors. Boy, does that hide figure flaws, which is what we want, right? By the way, I just bought the whisper knit cardigan, shell and V-neck in the ruby. They are truly outstanding in shape and color. This past year I bought the ruby bodysuit and the dance skirt, WOW! I have had strangers come up to me to say how much they liked the outfit. So, to make a long story short, please make things in those beautiful saturated colors. It seems to me that most women do not realize how much color can do for them. Sometimes you will see a big woman who is wearing a beautiful color that is flattering to her–you notice how nice she looks, not how big she is. Maybe somehow you can pass this along to people. Do you think perhaps some larger women are afraid of color, so they play it safe and buy neutrals? I would be interested to hear what our expert Louis says.
Hello Louis,
Thank you for all you do – your wonderful clothes and for being so responsive to us. I am a “winter” and love all things fuschia, lapis, black – the cool colors. Thank you for all the fuschia this year! I will be all over the lapis sneak preview you showed recently.
I would love Optic White. Off white or ivory don’t do well for me, but Optic White is perfect.
All the Best,
Sassenach
Sassenach, I strongly second that!!! I look ill in ivory, cream, off white. Thanks for listening to our opinions, Louis, even though they’re all different. LOL.
Kay
I guess I will just have to do both! Some tell me optic white is too harsh.
Yes, I actually like both. I like white white with black, and I like cream (Antique) with browns
I can only wear optic white also, but I know you only have so much input.
Do you know if there will any other colors in the blouse with the placket or is this the order for the year?
Dear Andrea…………..actually for the most part I have all the say when it comes to color. however my tendency is neutral, and darker shades. Every once in awhile I go crazy and do colors like the “Fiesta Colors”, which I love to, but normally….I like neutrals. Personally I prefer ivory or off white to optic white. I just think it’s easier to wear…..that’s not to say I don’t like optic white….I do, and I will be doing more of it.
Hi Louis – I’ve been traveling, so I’m weighing in a little late. The Grand Canyon was graced with Linea this past week! 🙂 I prefer neutral bottoms, but can be sold on brights when I see nice options to pair with them. Pastel bottoms, unless in a weighty fabric, remind me of PJs for some reason, so I don’t usually purchase this color family. I like color up by my face and have worn the fiesta colors all summer long, receiving many compliments. Favorite top colors are in the blues, aquas, and reds. I like your ivory, but would also appreciate white. For the neutrals, I prefer cool tones. I never used to wear Olive until I discovered your olive (with less yellow), so I like that as well. Hope that helps!
I’m wearing a optic white linen top with black embroidery from seasons past with the short black boho to synagogue tomorrow.
I did order the blouse with the placket in black. When that caller said she was looking for a John Garfield type blouse that did it.
Loved him; he was the first actor who paved the way for the sexy dark haired heros: Pacino, etc. Love the clothes from the old movies. Thank God for TCM.
Louis: Thanks for the quick response, especially on a holiday. I might try checking my alteration lady since she has done a great job in shortening your pants, etc. Forgot to mention I also received your burgundy leather jacket and the assymetrical jacket in caviar, both are gorgeous. Can’t wait for Monday and late September and like everyone I’m waiting for your new photos.
Hoping you are having a great Labor Day Holiday…maybe Jac let you sneak in a hot dog or too. LOL Just a note to let you know how appreciated you are for all the “labor” and time and thought that goes into the sneak peaks that you give us ladies, as well as the patience with all our questions. I love coming to the blog to see what is new and upcoming and to see the questions and answers for more information to aide in my buying decisions. Where else can you go and have a discussion one on one with the designer. Love you and Jac!!!
Louis,
Are there going to be any reorders on item A236142 – the beautiful Ottoman Knit jacket (green)?
Love, love, love all of your clothes!
Thank you,
Nora
Dear Nora it takes three to four months for QVC to make that decision and if they decide to reorder them, they wouldn’t be avail until next year.
Thank you Louis for the quick reply. If the jacket comes back in stock I will order it immediately. All the jackets in my closet are yours – (and there are many!) I receive so many compliments at work – your designs are amazing. At this point, I will not even consder purchasing any of my clothing unless it is made my you!!!!!!!!
Was at a high end store today that carried AK. I thought of you — she had a jacket very similar to your TSV -but Louis, the QUALITY WAS NOT EQUAL TO YOUR JACKET -and the price was so much more!- I came home ranting to my poor husband that I blew it by missing out on your Ottoman jacket. The poor man!I have learned my lesson the hard way!!
BLESSING TO YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL JAC!
Nora
PS You are on in September, correct?
Dear Nora…..Yes I will be on a special PM Style on Sept 9, and then I have a TWO hour show on Sept 25th from 4pm to 6pm……You are so correct when you say the quality of Linea is better than most of what you will find in the stores at higher prices. All of their apparel is made in the far east too.
Hi Louis
Will you be bringing back A233940 WK v-neck cardigan & A233942 WK v neck tank w/rib trim next sping in new colors? I sure hope so. These have been a workhourse in my wardrobe both monochromatic & mixing & matching. Thank you.
I honesty don’t know yet.
Hi:This is my first attempt to reach you and I meant to write suede jackets. Sorry.
Dear feathers….Sorry to hear about this problem. If you want I would suggest to bring one of the jackets to you dry cleaners and ask them if they can press it out. They have the industrial steam presses, which is the way they are pressed for production
Dear Louis:I received all three of your beautiful sw eaters but unfortunately they all have deep creases that I could not remove using every suggested method and will be returning them. I could cry because I love them. What happened in shipment?
Hello
Louis –
Do you have any idea when the irregular bead necklaces will be available? The website still says waitlist. Will the manufacturer be shipping soon? Jac looked fabulous in the goldtone on the show.
I don’t have that info….I will ask this week.
I have never posted here before but I read your blog religiously. I work in Corporate America and live in your clothes.
A233182, the button front ponte knit jacket & the A233183, ponte knit draw string skirt. I would love it in navy, khaki, and olive. I live in the south and the 3/4 sleeves are ideal in this jacket. I hope if this group is reordered that the pants would also available.
I am getting excited just thinking of the possibility of more colors.
I vote for these colors also…navy, khaki and olive. Please bring back
the white and black as they have to be replaced more often. Thanks for
getting our input. I have the four colors that are now offered and have
worn them quite a lot…so comfortable and flattering cut.
Ditto on these colors as well!!!
Dear Shan……welcome to my web site. Tallying up all of the suggestions……thanks for replying.
Louis,
Here are my votes for colors in reorders:
A233182 ponte jacket & A233183 ponte skirt – wheat or khaki
A233187 asymmetrical hem tunic – coral
A223652 – lace jacket with pockets – khaki, teal
A70208 – boho skirt – wheat
A221808 – notch collar jacket – walnut, wheat
Note – my thinking of the color wheat is not yellow but a little more golden than khaki. Would also like other of your fans love neutrals for spring with added colors of coral, apple green, iris blue…..
Would love the a221808 notch collar jacket in walnut/wheat.
I LOVE THE WHISPER KNIT – I purchased all colors available in the V Neck Sweaters in the whisper knit and I love them!!!! Please expand the colors and designs using the whisper knit. I love them!!!
Dear Dianna….have you gone to the Linea site, and typed Whisper Knits in the search bar? At least 20 styles will come up in Whisper Knit. Each season I keep adding more styles in more colors
Now there are direct links from the Linea home page- one for the Whisper knits, one for Feather Knits, and one for Jewelry. I can’t believe it! 🙂
Morning, with the different shades of walnut…will the walnut suede jacket work with the upcoming walnut quilted vest and walnut knit pants? I love the topaz suede jacket with the walnut quilted vest in your sneak peak and was hoping the walnut suede jacket worked as well.
Yes….they work perfectly with the suede jacket….The pieces together are amazing!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Louis, I wanted to ask if the Berry Red that the A2103690 Jewel Neck Sweater with Rib Detail is a warm or cool color, will you be showing a picture of it and also will it go with the Red jacket the is coming later in the season? I hope that is not too many questions!
Dear Judy……The new BERRY RED is deeper than the Ruby, and has a little wine in it, so in that respect it can be considered a little warmer….but I would not call it a WARM color. It is a very saturated color. I truly believe there is not a complexion that can’t wear this color…….it is very rich……this BERRY RED looks great with the check and tweed jackets that will be on my Sept shows………It is the RUBY WK that will work with my OCTOBER TWEEDS in RUBY/IVORY.
Dear Louis,
Forgive my confusion please, but is the Berry Ref og the WK WW Sweater the same color as the Claret of the Side Button tunic? Thanks ever so much …
Hi, Louis. I’m checking on a reorder. You had said they were reordering A228338, the button front tie in the tarragon. Do you know when? I see they now have burgundy but I am not seeing the tarragon – which I need to go with my new jacket. Thanks
I misspoke…..I thought the Tarragon was reordered, but when I recently inquired, I was told the Tarragon was dropped…..sorry for the wrong info.
I need a pair of brown pants and wanted to know if A235315 were a heavy enough weight for fall and milder winter days. I’m long waisted and like pants that come right to the waist. Hard to find
I think so, but it really depends on what you think mild is….50s…..I would think so. It feels like a heavy silk……but I will also have a ponte pant in walnut late this month early Oct…as part of my new OLO group.
Thanks. I might do both: the walnut sounds really dark, almost black and I like the cocoa. I’m looking for something to wear with a silky jacket and the fabric seems right.I’m just getting into browns, because like navy,it’s really hard to find. I’m trying to get away from so much black.I’m getting older, and want something softer, and anyways it’s getting boring.
Indian summer in Boston can be very warm; I rarely take out my winter coats until Thanksgiving (unless it snows!)Last Thanksgiving I wore your topper with the embroidery on the sleeves and color in bright red and didn’t need a coat. Many compliments at the posh restaurant I was at.
Dear Andrea….I think you should consider the A235312, jacket with the A235313, matching sleeveless shell and the A235315 contrast color pant…all in the same fabric. DO NOT go by the QVC pics as they are terrible. Try to find my Sneak Peeks. The fabric is a faux washed silk and is heavier than your typical silk fabrics, which, I think make it perfect for a longer season. The colors are really saturated and deep. The way the model is wearing the jacket is totally wrong. There is supposed to be a cascade down the front, and she has it all spread out and flattened!!!!Just terrible.
Oh is THAT what on earth is wrong with that picture!!!! No wonder. I think I’ll give that jacket a try then. That’s really terrible.
I know….I don’t think there is any guidance on how a garment is to look. They keep using the same old ivory tank under everything. I think they just bring in the rack of clothes and shoot one after the other, without and stylist or hair person or anything. I guess shooting on a model is considered a step up, but not if they aren’t going to put the clothes on properly. I think the same photographer who shoots the hamburgers….shoots the clothes.
Actually, the hamburgers look good.I found if I go through the videos and/or record and save I can get a good look at many items. If I save my recordings I can go back and forth slowly. e.g. a great closeup of the necklace on the front placket blouse.
Found it on your sneak peek. Guilty of not going all the way to bottom of page on your sneak peeks.
The sneak peeks are on pages 7 & 8 of 58…..just keeper clicking “older” in the upper left side until you get to the pictures…..then you will see how the cascade jacket is to be worn.
I found videos of the three models in the jacket, shell, and pants. The fabric looks perfect. I have VERY narrow shoulders, am 5’2” and the jacket wouldn’t work, it would look like it was wearing me. I wear shoulder pads constantly. Can I assume the blouse with the placket sans buttons would be a compatible fabric? Love that blouse. Are those are the colors for the year?
Dear Andrea…..that shirt does work. As a matter of fact i showed the wine shirt with the Boysenberry pant. I don’t believe in the colors of the year. For me, all colors are the colors of the year. I like last years, and the year before that just as much as this years offerings
I meant are those the only colors that will be offered this year!
I know what colors look good on me. E.g. at one time I did red wash, the red of your last years WNT.Did one of the callers say she bought the black because she’d been looking for a John Garfield type shirt? Love the clothes in old movies. Thank God for TCM.
Yes, those are the colors for that shirt for the year.
You said “play” and I intend to. This morning I was wearing the Lime feather jersey dolman in another ensemble for church and thought, what the heck, let’s throw on the caviar jacket to see how the colors go. Delish! Which means I also know that the Lime whisper knit mock turtle will be a fun contrast color to play off the caviar beautifully 🙂 This jacket is SO fun!!! Have the Blk also and the camel should get here after Labor Day. These jackets rock! Further, I got extremely, extremely lucky and just caught the spruce green ottoman jacket when one precious jacket popped up in my size. I scored it 🙂 So happy about that. And taking your advice, I’ve waitlisted all 3 pair of the skinny leg pant that go with the 3 asymmetrical jackets and we’ll see if I get one, any, all and how they work out for me as to fit. Play. Play. Play 😉
Dear Louis: have a question… I have searched and searched and cannot find any WK sweaters in the wonderful mushroom/ truffle color except the turtlenecks. Though I have really tried, I just cannot wear turtlenecks tho’ I love the look. Did you make another style in those colors and I missed it? If not, would it be likely to happen?? Absolutely love the taupe, ” river rock”‘ for lack of a better description), mocha, sand.. You get the idea… Wonderful earthy rich colors…..haven’t received my Otto,an jacket in the grey or the cavier(?) but those are also shades I love. Many thanks, Dodie
Hi Louis..to follow up on Sherry’s question, will you have a grey ponte pant that might go with the ottoman jacket? I don’t do skirts…pants just look better on me. I know I keep wishing, but a whisper knit pant in grey would be dynamite..just sayin.”
Afternoon Louis, will there be a walnut ponte knit pant coming with the OLO group, or any knit pant in brown?
Dear sherry….yes indeed, but it matches last falls Walnut, so it’s lighter than the new WK. it matches the new walnut vest and the reorder walnut reorder jewel neck WK tunic from last fall.
Great, thanks!!!
So will the walnut suede jacket work with the lighter shade of walnut? I love the topaz with the walnut quilted vest, hoping the walnut suede will work as well.
The QVC discussion: “Please describe the color of walnut WK?” The ladies have described the surplice/faux wrap (A237407) which matches the walnut suede jacket and the walnut skirt perfectly, as a rich deep mahogany, but the whisper knit shawl collar (A237409) as almost black. Do I understand correctly that last years’ walnut is a lighter color than the walnust surplice/faux wrap (A237407)? If so, are there three shades of walnut?
I have the surplice/faux wrap and the skirt, and sent back the shaw collar because it didn’t match the skirt.
Last years walnut was lighter than this years. All of the walnut whisper knits this year were supposed to be the same. All of my samples match, but since your shawl collar is a different color, then I can only assume that there was more than one dye lot…….so yes then there are three……last years and two this year.
will it be a ponte knit or another knit without wool?
Sorry Jane, I’m not connecting the dots. Which knit are you referring to?
Hi Louis,
Will you be bringing back the elbow length whisper knit sweater? If so, in what colors? This is so perfect for those of us who don’t like our upper arms and need a lighter sweater all year round. Thanks
Dear Carol…..you will have to give me a littloe more info than that…..I’ve done many elbow length sweaters….A#?
Carol, are you thinking of the A210367, 3/4 sleeve crew neck sweater?
Carol, Do you mean A230883, the elbow length sweater that went with the TSV jacket?
That is being reordered
Sorry – A 230883. Thanks!!!
I think that’s a handbag
I am in love with the current color pallete. As a brunette with fair complexion, these are my perfect hues. In every season, I wear red (true or blue-never orangey), kelly greeen, cobalt blue, navy, purple, fuschia, black and white (not cream, not ivory–true, optic white.)I need to wear a lot of skirt suits. My special wish for Spring/Summer: polka dots with WHITE, gingham, and seersucker.
I love polka dots, and seersucker is the nicest fabric for hot weather.
Yvonne, I have dark blonde hair and fair skin with pink undertones and wear the exact colors you do but go really bright in the summer.Bought all three colors of the summer WK’s. I was reading the huge fall ELLE last night and there were the polka dots.
My late mother had a gorgeous polka dot dress that she pulled about every ten or so years (remember Lady Di?) and on occasion had it tailored to suit the style of the moment. I got blue and white polka dot dress from LE on sale. Poor quality but fun.
August has such a busy month, and we appreciate all the time you give our questions. Previously when I asked which fall jackets would you put with my fawn outfi (the vest front cardigan and pencil skirt), you said “I’ll have to investigate and get back to you.”
Looking forward to seeing you on the 9th and at the end of the month. I’m definitely saving my pennies for the tweeds and I predict another sell out
Dear new york karan……..I will have on the next show a GLEN CHECK one button blazer, the color is called brown, but it is mostly camel wit brown and wine accents. You fawn will look terrific with this. I would also suggest getting the reorder blouse with the ties in Bordeaux [wine don’t recall the name] to wear under the vest cardigan. You may also want to try a brown belt tights and boots. Also many of the new “POSH KNITS” will look great with the fawn color.
Thank you so much for your wonderful reply
Hi Louis, you had mentioned a slim knit pant, a not so tight legging. Will it be offered in the walnut color as well as black?
Louis I need help! I have a suede jacket that I purchased about 4 years ago and I absolutely love it but the zipper splits when I try to zip it up. I have tried locally to have a new zipper put in but the tailor doesn’t want to do it because of the leather trim along the side of the zipper. Do you have a factory or know of somewhere that will fix it for me? I have the whole outfit and the jacket is the most important part. A-14945 from QVC they suggested I contact you. Thanks much.
I’ll have to speak to my manufacturer next week……..since everything we make is overseas, and I doubt if the factories would take on such a project, I’ll ask her advise….maybe she knows someone in the city. I have no idea how much something like that will cost, but I can guess it wont be inexpensive. There is someone in Port Chester NY. who maybe able to help. He has a store and does all kinds of leather repairs,,,,shoes, bags and if memory serves….garments. I’ll get back to you after the Holiday…….he is expensive, but does incredible work. He’s an Italian craftsmen. He also makes shoes and boots to order in any skin, even croco. He will make a copy of an Hermes Bag for half the price which is still expensive.
Barbara: I do not know where you live. There is a top leather repair shop in northern NJ that would repair or replace your zipper for sure. It would not be inexpensive. You could also just wear the jacket unzipped or look for a replacement on Ebay.
Dear Barbara……This is a place I use myself when ever I need a repair done. It is a family run business and people from all over come to him, even high end department stores recommend him. You must be VERY specific in what you want done.I don’t know where you live, but it’s worth a call:
Occhicone Fine Leather Goods
42 North Main Street
Port Chester, N.Y. 10573
914-937-6327
Let me know how it works out.
Hi Louis,
Just received the boucle sweater ( a236148) and can’t believe it wasn’t a sell out.The fabric is to die for and though it looks sheer when viewing it on the sight I did not find it to be so. The fit is perfect. I know I will be enjoying it as much as my WK’s. I vote for more walnut. It’s replacing black in my wardrobe.
Love ya,
Dear Beryl….that is one of Jac’s favorite sweaters too.
Louis, you asked for spring colors, I love yellow in any shade, also greens, pinks. purples and of course the basics of ivory, navy, turquoise and tan. I loved the apricot top that yoi did this past spring.
Please bring whisper knit skirts and slacks in petites in walnut and tarragon colors. I purchased the two tweed jackets on QVC but need skirts and slacks to match. Thanks
Dear Trish…..believe me when I say I would love to accommodate you…..why wouldn’t I???? BUT it really isn’t up to me…..it’s totally up to the buyer, and 99% of the time they do not have the budget to buy a style in all the colors in both reg and petite…..I’ve all but given up asking for talls
Hello Louis, I am asking for A233187 the asymmetric button front tunic please be reordered in a bright red and a bright lemon yellow. These two colors would be a great way to add a pop of color to all of our blacks, navy and the rest of our neutrals. Thank you in advance for all you do.
Louis, I received my box yesterday…… the green dress (Fabulous), the green ottoman suit which fits perfectly and both will go with green suede pumps which I have had for many years as I had fabric to match and never got the outfit made. The shoes are very up to date basic pump. I ordered the Camel jacket and pants, but the jacket was just not for me. My usual medium was too large and too long to be flattering to me. I really wanted to try a Small, but was still a little afraid of the length. Do you think that I can wear hose with the green or do I have to wear green tights ?????? Also, I prefer neutral colors for basic clothing or subdued colors…… bright pastels are not for me….. that is my thinking for Spring Thanks Louis for your opinion….
I have a request and it may not even be possible but, it never hurts to ask. Is there any way for you to give us a short video of the OLO items. Some of us like myself would love to see just a short video of these new items on a live person. It would show us more how the garments fit on a true body. If you could give us just a fast walk across we could tell a lot more about the fit on our own body. Thank you for all of the lovely clothes and jewelry you design for us. I am proud to be “one of your Linea ladies”.
Sorry Judy…..a video is out of my realm. I will try to “sneak peek” as much as I can.
Thank you for the quick response. I had to ask. We do love all of your sneak peeks.
Dear Louis,
I wrote a response to your query about the colors we like yesterday (8/30). I cannot find it or your response. Is there a way to search for them on your site? The “Ask Louis” section only posts a few comments and your responses now. Before, they went back in time quite a while. Thank you for any help you can provide.
All the best,
Patti
Dear Patti…I really don’t know how to do that. Maybe some of the other ladies have done that with success and can help you.
Yes, I am addicted to WK cardigans and T-necks!
Any chance we might see either a WK or a cotton/rayon sweater like the “lace” embroidered cardigan coming back in a non-embellished version? I wore those all summer and the sleeve length is perfection!
Dear jmarie….not that body, but i have proposed a short sleeve WK with shape not boxy.
Hello Louis,
I adore your clothing line and own may pieces! I received the Ottoman jacket in black and now regret not ordering it in all colors. The fit is superb for my body type and the weight will make it a staple for my Fall and Winter wardrobe. Will there be matching pants?
Also, the sneak peek of the red jacket was simply divine. I am lusting after this jacket and a matching beret to wear to the office or out to dinner. Could you please give us more details about this jacket. Forgive my impatience….it’s calling my name.
Warm regards,
Monica in PA
It is very similar in look to the coat I did last year in the black and pink, but this is even a higher wool count. It will be on the special Sept 9th PM STYLE.
Dear Monica….the ottoman fabric is too heavy for pants, and it would be impossible to match these colors. Since the ottoman is 100% cotton it would be very had to match the color….except black. So I would go for a contrast pant…..black….dak navy dark charcoal grey.
Pleae tell me where the sneak peek for the red or is it ruby jacket is?
Hello Sharon, I just happen to revisiting the ruby jacket sneak peak, so here is the info. It in under A217629 V neck whisper knit that Louis published in his blog on Aug 4. Hope this works for you. it is a beauty.
Hi Louis,
I have many of the items in your clothing line and I adore them all. They fit wonderfully and they are good quality.
What I’d like to know is if you are ever going to design a line of berets? The models always look so finished and chic with them on. I know you can buy berets at the mall, but yours look larger and more substantial. If you decide to do this, please add a lining in them. I will surely get all the colors offered!
Thank you.
Dear Kathy……..I did try to offer berets to QVC, but so far no. None of the Berets I show are lined and none of the berets I have seen to sell are lined. You can buy berets on line…..just google BERETS.
I collect berets, have fifteen and none are lined. I bought them in a small shop but I’m sure you can find them online. Often the come in a regular and larger size (which id hard to find.)
LDO, the ottoman jacket is blowing my little mind. Just so perfect, elegant, but with a bit of subversive cool-factor too. Since this will be reordered next year, may I request a sleeveless sheath dress to wear under it? Oh, and broken record that I am, may be have this in navy?
I had a dress sketched, but everyone thought it would look too heavy and thick………I disagreed. I was happy to get the jacket and skirt in!
I shoulda known…
BTW, the faux silk tanks (A235313) from your recent 2am visit are spectacular under the ottoman jacket. Cherry with black, Nutmeg with grey, etc. If we’re fortunate enough to get more of this top/fabric, would you consider ivory or white as an option?
That faux silk fabric is fantastic! I would love to have a simple tank or shell in the faux silk fabric in perfectly pink to go under my perfectly pink jacket (A97284). Also, I hope that you will be bringing us more of your 97% cotton/3% spandex blend items. I need capris in a light khaki color for spring. Thanks, Louis!
Carol
Good morning, Louis,
I wanted to report back to you on some of my recent purchases from your recent shows (which were great!).
I purchased the new suede jacket in all 3 colors. The suede is beyond luscious, the colors are gorgeous. After checking the Click Here measurements, I ordered my regular size and, unfortunately, I find it fits VERY close to the body. The Spruce Green is a tad looser, but the Topaz and Walnut are very snug. I have tried the zipper in various positions to give more ease, and, of course, there is the option to wear the jacket unzipped. I have waitlisted the next larger size but I really don’t have hope of receiving them because this jacket is so beautiful I doubt there will be many returns. So, this is kind of disappointing for me since this was the one new item that was “must have”.
I also ordered the Ottoman jackets in black and grey and the fit is perfect! These are truly high-end jackets. The leather and knit sleeve jacket also fits perfectly and is beautiful. All of these were purchased in my regular Linea size, so that’s why it’s so surprising about the fit of the suede jacket.
I’ve already told you how much I love the new surplice sweater — my favorite! Love the shawl collar and cardigans and tanks as well. I will need a new closet for all my treasures.
Looking forward to the rest of your Fall fashions particularly the fuchsia blazer.
Thanks for all you do for us.
Dear Jane….sorry the suede jackets don’t fit the way you would have liked. If you are really unhappy with them….send them back. It’s silly to have them sit in your closet. Suede does give with wear, but with the lining …it won’t give that much. I’m glad you are happy with the rest!
Louis, this is a rave review. My asymmetrical jacket and slim pants arrived yesterday. First of all, I can’t believe the price I paid for this quality. They look expensive, chic and very “designer.” I love the fabric and my pieces are impeccably made. I got the jacket and the slim pants in caviar, and I adore the color. I understand why you had difficulty describing it, but I find it very chic and “industrial” looking. And thank goodness I also grabbed the pants in the other two colors. The rise on these is higher than I typically prefer, but that’s a small sacrifice to pay for the beautiful slim silhouette. I ordered my typical brick & mortar pants size and the fit was spot on. I’m going to stalk and buy backups for the pants, they’re that good. And also stalk the jacket in black. I think this suit captures what I love about Linea – gorgeous, chic design for a crazy good price. And I so appreciate the leaner, more body-conscious style of these. Super flattering. I’m a very happy customer!
Louis, I rec’d the pewter skirt and v neck tunic, I absolutely love it. What color boots would you pair them with? I am planning to purchase a pair of frye boots, would love your recommendation with a column of pewter.
thankyou
Well of course black with blk tights or if you have the walnut suede……dk brown tights and dk brown boots. You can really wear the pewter with anything….so try to have your boots and tights work with your jacket color. I don’t think Frye does grey, but I may be wrong….they are pretty much….black, brown and some sort of rust and distress natural color…….your best bet is black or brown……look at what you own and what you need most…..the tights are the easiest to find.
I love your jewel tones. You know how to match the right textiles with the dyes. About 5 or 6 years ago you did linen and silk in pomegranite and jade. Would love to see these colors again. Would also love to see a peridot shade of green. Can’t wait for my packages to arrive. It takes longer on the west coast!
Dear Louis,
Received the black ponte knit dress today and all I can say is, “Beautiful!” It has simple elegance, the fabric is lovely, and it makes me look slender and sophisticated. I have purchased several David Meister dresses that also have that simple, elegant look. The fabric content is very similar; some were made in China, some in the U.S. BUT they were several hundred dollars apiece! I echo the thoughts of so many of your fans, by being completely amazed at the quality and design you offer at such an affordable price. Thank you! One question: I loved the way you styled the green version of this dress with the red tights–what would you do with the black one if you wanted to push the envelope a bit? Thank you.
Dear Barbara…..that depends on how far you want to push the envelope! You can push it a lot with RED tights, or a whole other direction would be a texture or pattern in BLACK. If you go on the HUE web site they offer a pretty wide range of colors, otherwise check out what the newest hose or tights are in Macys, Bloomingdales, Nordstroms etc. You can also go on the “Fogal” web site for ideas. They are pretty expensive, but you will see what the absolute latest is.
Hi Louis
Thank you so much for asking for input from your “Linea Ladies”. As for colors for spring/summer, I do love neutrals as they are very versatile. I happen to have ordered what was offered in all of the beautiful fiesta colors and am all set there. As additions, white, ivory, perhaps oatmeal (or similar) & pastels would really broaden my WK spring/summer options. However, what I have gotten the most wear from and enjoy the most are the WK button down v neck cardigans with the matching v neck sleeveless tops. If these come back next spring in more color options, I will be the first to order every color made available. Thank you
Dear Louis,
I also adore the neutrals/basics. Camel, taupe, mushroon, creamy ivory (the color of the ice cream part of butter pecan ice cream), grey, deep hunter green, and navy would all be wonderful colors for me. They coordinate really well with each other and go with so many of the scarves I already own. I also love the old Liz Claiborne orangey red and bright teal and cobalt blue colors. Complexion-flattering pale peach or peachy pink are also nice colors for tops for me.
By the way, I loved the black and camel coordination you did in your show with the gold jewelry. Superb! I have some black and camel ballet flats that would go great with that combination. Thanks for the idea.
I hope QVC will let you do some leather belts. A belt wardrobe in great basic colors (black, navy, brown, taupe, red, luggage leather, silver, gold, etc.) would also be appreciated. I’d love to see both thin and medium width belts and a wide one or two as well. Maybe also a woven or webbing belt to wear with casual things like khakis or jeans would be nice. Just a thought.
A basic (old style) classic Coach-type leather shoulder bag and a quilted Chanel-esque chain strap bag would be lovely. I would also like to see a good quality basic feminine (low-heel) pump, leather pant shoe (feminine loafer type), and quilted ballet flat with a cap toe.
I know that people love the leggings and pencil pants, but I do hope that classic pleated pants come back. I will be the first in line to buy them. I love the look of stars like Katherine Hepburn with those gorgeous blouses and pleated pants. So elegant!
On the forum, several people mentioned getting coordinating tights to go with your outfits. I would love to see that happen as well. Even if you don’t get your own hosiery line, maybe QVC could get their existing hosiery line to at least carry colors that coordinate with your items.
Please do ask QVC for everything you can. It’s like my daddy used to say, “Go ahead and ask. All they can do is tell you ‘no’.” I’ll send up a couple of prayers on your behalf along those lines.
Louis, thanks so much for even considering what your customers want. You are the best! There just isn’t any other designer out there like you who listens to his customers like you do. It is no wonder that you are such a success. All the best and much thanks! Don’t ever change.
All the best,
Patti
My fabulous new Linea collection pieces have begun to arrive and Louis, they don’t disappoint! Au contraire. Received the Gray Ottoman jacket in medium (also ordered black and matching skirts) and the style is amazing and fabric is killer. C’mon! This would be at least mid three-figures at Neimans! The fit is amazing–I also ordered larges too just in case so someone on wait list is going to be happy when I send back. The WK tunic and skirt in violet is divine (boho in violet please). Ditto the side button WK sweater. I’m out of closet space and still have dresses, pants, suede jackets etc. to come. But your clothes have priority in my closet. This was your best collection yet! Are you doing a short leather jacket for fall–or will you have to kill me if you tell me!
i want your large return.
Yes…there will be a shorter zip front jacket coming in Oct…..black, ruby, forest green.
Be still my heart!
