You can wear your white jacket any time you want. As for shoes….other than sneakers I think you should wait unless you live in a warm climate like Florida, where you can wear them all year long.

I love the fabric of the jacket which is item number A234416 and the matching skirt item number A234433 (on QVC) and also like the Hemp color. Would you please consider designing another jacket maybe a 3/4 length sleeve jewel collar jacket about 24 inches long. I would also like to see the same fabric in a pair of cigarette pants. Please think about it I think it would look very fashionable. Just my 2 cents.

Dear Patricia, since that suit only did fair, I will not be bringing that fabric back. Also, because there was no stretch to the fabric, doing a pant in it would result in HIGH returns. I am always on the search for a shantung like fabric with stretch.

You showed a gorgeous multicolored, large multi-strand necklace with shades of red, taupe, black…. in it. It was shown with a taupe skirt and white blouse (the one sold with a camisole) on the model with the long black hair that was pulled back in a ponytail. Can you help? Dear Barbara….yes that was Angela in the white safari shirt and the taupe boho. Those necklaces are from my collection, and I’m not sure if they can be duplicated, I will present them at my next spring meeting and see what reaction I get.

Dear Louise…My manufacturer told me the dress, vest and pant are due in April. I thought they would be in with the denim jacket reorder….makes sense…no? but I was wrong…..All I get is April.
Good morning, Louis, Every time that we have some warmer weather I am able to wear my boucle jackets A238159. I have them in Lapis and Ruby and just love them. You must be working on fall clothes now so I’m wondering if these will be coming back, and, hopefully, in colors like charcoal, black, and winter white. One request, though — please make them next time with long sleeves. Thanks so much.
I totally agree Louis. Long sleeves would make this jacket Perfection. When you reach for something, the sleeve travels up your arm, and you have to struggle to pull it back down.

Hi Louis, I have a request. It would be nice to have some PATTERN sleeveless or short sleeve tops in your rayon/span to coordinate with your solid color rayon skirts. Floral, stripe, etc.. I know you have pattern poly tops, but some of us can’t wear that fabric during warmer months. Your solid color rayon tops require accesorizing and sometimes it’s nice just to be able to put some earrings on with a pattern top and head out the door. Thanks for listening!
Hi Louis, I just wanted to put in a request for a true red in the poet shirt. I can just see this color worn with faded skinny jeans or chinos. I own this shirt in every color and love them all. They are perfect with shorts, pedal pushers, capris, jeans and even slim skirts. The navy is my all time favorite and will be until you give us your true red! Thank you for hearing our request!

Hi Louis. The show may have been a disaster but I just received my order and your designs are, as usual, magnifique! The fabric on your button down shirts (pink and yellow) is delicious. The navy lace skirt and top gorgeous. And the black long skirt and matching tank are, as you said, must have. I may just have to get the navy too. Also got the yellow denim jacket–already have white. Yes Sherry all of the OLO denim pieces are April and you are probably right about why they came off wait list, but it is kind of silly since they are to be sold OLO anyway. If they sell out they sellout….no?

I have the Sunshine yellow jacket from last year and this year I got the Aqua and
white. I happened on the Sunshine yellow skirt, but will have it tailored to fit.

The Q has the color Moss Green as one of the colors. Is that the seafoam?
No….the moss is one of the original colors that has been discontinued.
If you are referring to the lace jacket….the ivory is the lace and the trim remains the same as all the other jackets…..natural linen with the dark brown gingham ribbon.

I got the HYDRANGEA PRINT top in taupe (A213615) and just love it. I want to get another color to go with my sea green Ponte Knit Blazer w/Back Peplum Detail (A219824) and matching skirt. Which one would you suggest? Are there other printed tops that would pop with this outfit? Thanks for all the wonderful creations you bring us.
Dear NY Karan….I don’t have the jacket anymore but I found a large swatch of the color. The Caribbean blue Hydrangea top0 is paler than the sea green but blends nicely…also, the A233857, floral print cotton short sleeve shirt in the turquoise almost matches the sea green perfectly. I love them together……whit white jeans, short or Boho shirts, white crops or Capri or dress pants it will look great for summer. I don’t have the Pucci type type print in the aqua, but that might work…..maybe someone who has both pieces can reply.
Hi, Louis. Looks like the new Rayon/Span knit is a big hit. The girls were speculating on the Q Forum that you should name/trademark it and that we should give you suggestions. My suggestion for a name is “Lush Knit” or “Lux Knit”…my two cents….I’m sure you’ll get other good suggestions, as well.

We really name fabrics that are sold for the OLO category, even though they are sold both OLO and get air time. The rayon /span is not an OLO product, but I like the names.
If you like it, you should trademark the name so you’ll have it when you want to use it for an other OLO fabric.

I must tell you … UPS just left a box on my porch and … NAVY LACE! Oh, my dear designer, what a fabulous find this is! I am sitting at my computer wearing the Navy Lace Skirt and Top, with last year’s Navy TSV Peplum Jacket thrown on just for fun, and it looks terrific, and feels even better. The Navy Lace has a lovely texture, the dark periwinkle lining is the perfect subtle accent, and both pieces are so very comfortable, as well as elegant looking! I will wear these pieces together, with sandals and a wrap, with heels, hose and a Navy TSV, silk, wool or linen jacket as well as break the pieces up to wear with a crisp white cotton or linen top or bottom, dressed down with jeans and … some sapphires and pearls; the PERFECT travel wardrobe 🙂 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Dear Cathy….I am so glad you love your lace pieces. I knew who ever got them would love them because it is a beautiful lace and they are made so well. I have been seeing so much lace lately. I just got a Neiman’s catalog and the lace pieces were so expensive for cotton blend lace…of course when you stick a designer label on it you can charge anything. You really should try a color lace T. With white jeans or a skirt in the summer and sandals it will look incredible. Unfortunately you never got to see them on my show. The yellow skirt with the WK yellow V-neck sweater, 3/4 sleeve and the yellow jean jacket was outrageous. Jac was supposed to wear it and was so angry she didn’t get the chance to show it…….maybe they will bring it back on one of my shows….probably 3:00 in the morning…LOL……..P.S. Walter is a man of taste.

I second your endorsement of Walter. When I read Cathy’s comment about his remarks, I thought, “What a guy! Sure knows a good thing when he sees it.”
I’m now waiting to see if a navy skirt in large will show up for me. Foolishly, I thought the skirt would not cover my knees (my preference) and passed on this lace outfit. Then I read Cathy’s review and discovered that I was wrong about where the skirt falls. We win some, we lose some.
I should add where the skirt falls on people in the 5’2″ range.
I really do LOVE that Navy Lace outfit, and am definitely considering ordering at least one more piece in another color, especially as I own and love that yellow Jean Jacket … and I NEVER wear yellow. I will, however, be seen this weekend, at the Philadelphia Flower Show, in that yellow jacket accessorized with a fabulous yellow reds oranges and greens orchid print silk scarf. My cousin is here from New Mexico, my grandson and family are coming, and we have 3 rooms right across the street from the show; I’m ONLY packing Linea … plus a bathing suit and a coat 🙂
Just a thought … maybe Jac would feel better if you posted a snapshot of her in that lovely yellow lace outfit here on the blog … ? In any event, I’ve written glowing reviews and a thread on the Q forums about how great the lace pieces are in hopes that will help a little, and Q should certainly allow you to re-present the pieces whenever you’d like!
Cathy….since you already have the yellow jean jacket you really should get the yellow lace…..at least the top…it matched perfectly. With white bottoms, jeans or even my navy rayon span long skirt you can’t go wrong.
I have the White jean jacket to wear with the Navy lace top (still to arrive)…if I get the Yellow lace top, would the Yellow vest be a more reasonable choice?…with being able to wear the White jacket over the Yellow lace as well. It gets really hot here in SW Kansas, so too many jackets don’t get worn for very long (LOL), unless we actually get to have Spring.

The Ponte Knit Blazer w/Back Peplum Detail (A219824)

I have a sizing question. I ordered, and had to return your ponte knit maxi skirt (A239318) as it was far too big, not something I’m used to. I’m used to wearing an XL or a 16WP. Unfortunately the next size down is gone in black.
Do all your skirts have a similar fit? It would help me to gauge sizing. Measuring tapes aren’t always accurate enough. I have two others on order in Large, A09484 in grey, and A224718 in black. I’m considering trying again with the ponte knit maxi if I can find a color that works with my wardrobe (and a willing trailer) and I also was looking at the pink ponte skirt, A219798. I am 4’11”, so I expect everything to run long.

Dear Rochelle. We always fit the clothes on the same production model who is the QVC standard as far as height and measurements are concerned, so I would say the clothes are pretty consistent, because they always fit here the same. The variation comes more with the style and fabric of the garments. That said you are a true petite at 4’11” so garments may fit you differently, but I would think you would have more difficulty with tops and jackets. I think once you find the size that works for you in Linea, you should feel pretty comfortable in ordering that size. The colors of the ponte skirt were pretty neutral and the grey or walnut should work with many things you own. I m sure there are other Linea women similar to you who also can give you some guidance. You should also post your question on the Linea QVC forum website. The ladies are really wonderful and very helpful, and will save you a lot of dreadful returns.

I’m petite also. You must look at the “click here” measurement at the bottom of the item info. Also look at the “fit”, fitted, semi-fitted, etc, and the fabric, some have more give. You have to measure yourself and fit the hip and bust measurements into the click here measurements. It also depends how you want it to fit. I like things close to the body, if you want it looser add an inch or so. For Whisper Knit items, they stretch so much that you just have to find the size that fits your shoulders and stick with that. Hope this helps.

Thank you. I’m a tremendously compacted hourglass (think Jayne Mansfield a foot shorter) so finding good off the rack cut and drape can be challenging, though necessary.
As I have said, in the past, you and Jac are pure class! For whatever reason you are selling your line on QVC, they DO NOT deserve you. I know the business well. I was in textiles for countless years, the same time you were with AK and it was a cut throat business.. As long as you have each other and your health, you’re good. Will the Knit Skirt with Faux Wrap and Button Detail (A231144) in the TRUFFLE color coordinate with the Boyfriend Cardigan and matching shell in the TAUPE color I already have? I was looking for a skirt to wear with the boyfriend twin set and stumbled across the knit skirt on the QVC site.
Also, will either the Poet Blouse with Pockets (A213626) in the KHAKI color or the 3/4 Sleeve Lace V-Neck Tunic (A237099) in the COCOA color work with the new TWIG Leggings?
Dear Patti…I tried the Truffle with the taupe WK sweater and the colors look good. The truffle is much darker and borders on olive, so the colors work. If you want a more tonal look…i would recommend the new twig skirt, A252354. The skirts are the same fabric and the twig is still darker than the sweaters, but the twig skirt may be a better silhouette with the boyfriend cardi. The truffle skirt has more sweep, even though it drapes down…if you know what I mean. I can not find my poet shirt in the Kahki???! so I’m nor sure if the teig and the khaki are compatible. If I find it I’ll let you know…..maybe someone who has the poet shirt and gets the twig legging can let you know. I much prefer the walnut ponte legging with the cocoa lace….the twig is too light color for such a dark brown LACE top.

Last night I received the indigo tank top and it is lovely. There is a slight purplish tinge to the fabric (that is why it is called indigo and not navy). It will be perfect for our hot humid summers here. I also received the leggings in Navy color. Can the leggings be professionally shortened in the lower leg at the ankle without destroying the fabric? They are bunching at my ankles due to the longer inseam. I am 5’2″. Yes….anything can be shortened if it’s done correctly. A professional should know how to do it.
Hi Louis: Gold fish is not on the “qvc” page. I really think “qvc” is in real trouble – their silver bonanza was not a success on Thursday and had to have a “Encore” on Friday night. No one I know continues to shop there – hope I get the silver Fish.

Hi Louis, I always wear size small in your tops, I was reading your blog on the lace top. The lining sounds like it has stretch, but not the lace. Do you think I should stay with my normal size small?

Dear Carma….I think the small will be fine in the lace top. There is stretch to the lace, but of course not like the knits. I think the only women who have to be careful are those with large chests, and have trouble with fit in that area.. They should check the chest measurements. I think xs in the cardigan will be good.

I just received the wind chime necklace and earrings today, I think they will be worn to death this summer, also the horse bit necklace is a beautiful color, my gold fish should be here tomorrow and the silver one on wait list I can only hope I get it. The white jean jacket also arrived along with the navy bc that I had on wait list, hope all the jeans and vests make it my way soon. I’m hopping for Spring in Wis soon!

Also, does A199796, the Medallion Print Jacket and Skirt in the Blue/Green Combo go with the Turg Lace pieces? Always nice to put together an unexpected outfit.
What do you think of of A201016, the Turq/BlackAnimal Print Lined Jacket with the Turq Denim Jeans? I put the Turq Denim Jacket next to it and while it is not an exact match, I thought it might work with the new Black Rayon/Span tank underneath…yes/no?

Dear Shelia….I checked and the Aqua crepe blazer from last year looks GREAT with the new Aqua lace pieces…..what a great outfit….the Aqua denim for casual and the crepe for dressier occasions. I do not have the samples of the medallion print or the sample of the animal in the turq combo anymore, At a certain point I have to give them to charity or I’ll be buried in samples. I try to keep one sample for my library and the rest I give away…..after 14 years that’s a lot of clothes……if the turq animal print color works I think it would be fun with either a black top or bottom depending which lace piece you put with it.

Hello Louis, there must have been a full moon yesterday . I could tell by the expression on your face that you were angry so that was the first clue. Then poor Antonella face showed stress and she lost it. What made it worse was the Linea ladies on Fashion Talk started arguing and that led to hard feeling. That camera man didn’t get a close up on the jewelry especially what could be coming in the future. We know how much effort you put into your presentation and we really appreciate all you do for us. Most of the decisions are already made by air time so you shouldn’t stress yourself. Maybe you and Jac should take a little get away trip to a nice sunny place with beaches and fruit cocktails. It’s been a long miserable winter and I heard on the world news that it will continue like this for at least six weeks. Ok with that being said I can’t wait for new sneak peaks because I’m ready.
Louis & Jac: After reading Jac’s comments which a Linea Lady posted in the QVC Linea blog section as to the show yesterday in the afternoon, I had tears in my eyes. From whence come these last minute decisions behind the scenes which so disrupt the flow and comfort level of the show only you – including all the professionals on the modeling team – know. Please convey to Jac that if there is one thing we DO know out here, it is the details and perfectionism with which you both, and the modeling team, have ALWAYS approached every show over the years! To cause distress “back stage” and to so worry Louis out in front is sheer idiocy! We fervently wish they would let you do the show the way you perfectly planned it and stop causing you both and the viewers undue stress and worry. Thank you for the stellar job you both always do for us on so many levels!!! Take good care of each other and we look forward to the next shows and the wonderful OLO items coming up. Enjoy the “NO snow” as we are doing up here in New England 🙂

Dear Louis, I hope you and Jac had a nice bottle of wine when you got back to Connecticut tonight and had a chance to relax. All your avid followers/customers knew something was going on behind the scenes that was throwing the show off and we could see and hear the concern in your voice regarding the models. I’m just glad and relieved that nothing bad happened—just the Q making a bonehead move. Louis. Love, Love, Love your clothes. The chiffon tiered skirt is a must in the pink and also the black. Actually all your clothes are a must have. I love the way they are shown on the models. The thing that makes me crazy is the accessories. I can not find them. Where would I go to get the huge hoop earrings or the big chunky necklaces that are very long.

Am I ever going goofy trying to find the denim jeans and dress. I thought it was mentioned they would be on line, but, they always say sold out. But usually when things ARE sold out ,Q still shows the item with x’s on the colors and sizes gone. Have they been on line and I missed them or are they still coming?? I sure hope I didn’t miss them. They were two items I mostly wished for.
Shari, I really thought the vest and dress would be on today’s show too. I already ordered the vest in 2 colors the day it came out on line. Then the day after that it showed in my orders as being wait listed. I also ordered the jeans that same day and had the same experience with them being waitlisted. Now you can’t even find them on his pages. I waited patiently today for the dress to be shown and it never was! What’s up? Did they not receive the shipment???? Hopefully Louis will be able to provide some of these answers.
Hi ladies, the denim vest, dress, and ankle jeans are part of a denim OLO group that will be available sometime in March. Louis had thought the Q would have them up for sell, and the vest and ankle jeans were loaded into the system for waitlist orders and then taken off. Apparently they have not been received as of yet…hopefully that is all that is going on….hope this helps until Louis can tell us otherwise.

I am really frustrated with Q right now. Not sure how professional their tactics are. I even called the customer service looking for help finding the jeans and the denim dress and BOY! was she rude. It was like I asked her to hurry up and sew me one. Louis will definately have answers. Thanks for the input !
Dear Shari and all of you who have the same question. I do not know the status of the three OLO denim pieces….the dress, the jean and the vest. They are not sold out, but will all ONO products I never know when they will be avail. Usually you all, with all the stalking you have to do, know quicker than me. I get updated from all of you!

Louis, I’m so sorry you had to deal with all that confusion and I thought Jac’s letter on the community forum was heartfelt and considerate to all of your many fans who realized “something was up” today. I felt badly for her after reading about the confusion, but more importantly and more selfishly, we all missed her as well since she is the consummate model for Linea. Finally, Louis, I want to reassure you that all of us who are your fans appreciate all you do to help us look our best. If QVC is inept with their preparation or the way they handle last minute changes, that’s their issue. We will still follow you on your own website and if you find another venue to sell your wonderful clothing, we will follow you there and it will be QVC’s loss. You’re the best!

I have enjoyed several ponte knit pieces this winter. The fabric holds up great. The ponte knit dress with pockets has been a favorite. I wore it in black to church this morning over leggings and my Toms flats. Do you know if this dress is being reordered in other colors. I hope the ponte knit continues to grow. I am a busy mom and the ponte is easy for my life. Thanks. I have already ordered all the upcoming knit tanks coming this week and waiting for the denim.

Hi Louis, I’m looking forward to your show on Monday. I want to check on the A252353, indigo knit tank and A252344, the navy leggings. Are these the same color and if not, are they close or way off? I want to get the long skirt to go with the tank but wondered if it would work with the leggings as a layer piece too. Thanks, Louis.
They are off….the pant has a more purplish cast than the rayon jersey…..they are definitely both navy, and no one would think they are anything but navy, but when you put them together there is a difference. If you wore a V-neck tunic over the tank with the navy legging then they would be broken up enough where the difference wouldn’t be obvious.

More questions…does the Smoke in the crinkle georgette work with the new crepe Smoke jacket and pants that’s coming next month?
Another please, is the rayon span Twig tank the best choice for the end on end Twig jacket/pants that’s coming later?
A232345, the Twig WK tank with rib bottom is another choice that works equally as well.
Unfortunately, the colors are off. The shirt looks pinker next to the crepe…..some may not mind the difference, but there is a definite difference. It’s really difficult to keep the colors the same. I get a 1 inch square lab test swatch to approve which is very difficult to judge color, and that doesn’t mean when they go into production the colors will come out exactly the same from the approved lab dip. It’s always better to plan a contrast color…..When the do come out the same color…like the WK, the lace and the denim in the Aqua and Yellow ….it’s a miracle!
I don’t know how you do it from such a small swatch…can they not send a larger one? I understand, and am grateful for those that do match.

Do you know if the ‘shabby chic’ cardigan (A228340) has been reordered yet? If so and you are requesting new colors I would love it in navy (your dark navy) with a red velvet trim (the red of the PK jacket (A251580) comes to mind. I wear the black and the gray version quite a lot.

I like black for now….there will be another cotton span tunic with natural wood beads in coffee bean that would work, but that’s coming in July. Of course the Chinese porcelain print top in twig works too.

I’m loving my denim jackets (have white and aqua). I would LOVE to have one in Black with silver buttons and Red with gold buttons! Cant wait to get the denim dresses.
Since you spent your life around models and probably know a lot of there tricks of the trade, I was wondering if you know a trick to prevent getting face makeup/rouge on the collar of jackets or an easy trick to get it off without washing the whole garment? In winter I wear scarves to keep them clean but summer is a challenge. Thanks for any helpful hints you can give me.

Dear Dee……there really aren’t any tricks or secrets. I know for years models have used “do-rags” [don’t know who gave them that name, but that’s what the models called them], over their heads and faces getting clothes on and off. I can tell you, after each show, I always find makeup on the collars. Even the make-up they put on me for TV ends up on my shirt collar. I’ll ask Jac this question, but I don’t think she has any magic answer either.

I think we definitely do understand that, but putting a hot item like this up during the night? That’s just plain dirty pool. Essentially this is why I missed the pink version of the “classic” necklace and it is again why I missed the silver fish. Since I had an outfit planned around the fish – it leads to changing of other plans too. This is a plea that our feedback due to the tiny amount of silver fish ordered please be passed up to the powers that be when you can do so. There are several “boiling” or “bummed out” threads at the QVC Linea site this morning on this topic. I was holding to the hope that they didn’t log in the entire inventory based on your this-morning’s thought in your gold fish posting that the silver fish would be sometime into March. But sadly – even though hope does spring “eternal” – that begins to look like a dying hope…

Yes the natural is returning and a color I think is called Aqua Mist….very pretty and soft…..it’s an accent color….there are no other aqua mist pieces….it looks very pretty with neutrals

Have you ever considered writing a book? I would love to read about your life, career and the fashion industry over the years. I would love to hear your perspective on the fashion industry’s transformation along with technology. When you first came to QVC I was tickled to learn that you were the designer behind the Anne Klein label. I recognized that label… when I graduated from college in 1982 the ‘investment pieces’ of my career wardrobe were AK, the other pieces I made myself. Please consider writing a book!

Yes, so disappointed also. Have been checking several times a day for days for the silver fish and got up this morning to see they are already gone (i.e., on “Waitlist”). Not happy. But, was able to get the status link.
Not getting silver fish is worse than going all the way to Cabo to fish and not catching a thing, which has happened to me one time.
