“THE OPENING PAGES”

…………………………The opening pages of the Look Book had to “grab” the viewer…….The story had to be told in one photograph……….Here, Giselle is wearing my COLOR BLOCK wool crepe blazer in RED, WHITE and BLACK……a striped tank sweater in BLACK and WHITE, and a WHITE crepe pencil skirt with a very wide BLACK tuxedo stripe down the sides. The shoes, the black door knocker earrings and the black disc belt were all designed by me to complete the look, and all Anne Klein products………COLOR BLOCKING….and…STRIPES…..all in RED, BLACK and WHITE……the story was told with one photo.

“DECEMBER 2012”

……………..You all know the saying……..”the best Christmas presents are the ones you buy for yourself”………..The Dec. group had some wonderful new things to take you right through the doldrums of winter……Jan. Feb. and March!……Dec. had some wonderful knits and jerseys to add to your winter wardrobe…..Starting at the top there is a rayon jersey abstract print in Grey/Black, Cobalt/Black, and Chocolate/Black. It was avail in two styles, a draped front V-neck top with long sleeves, and a pleat front pull-on boot skirt that had beautiful drape and movement in the rayon jersey…..Below that a knit legging in Cobalt, Chocolate and Black….Beside that a wonderful one button GAUZE jacket with an asymmetric scarf hem…the beginning of a strong trend. It came in Cobalt and Black and looked incredible over the legging as well as pants, skirts and dresses. This was a new way to wear a jacket…It was very gossamer and very feminine…..The next dress was a similar body to the animal jacquard dress I had already done with the TULIP skirt, but this Ponte knit dress had a V-neck and came in Black, Chocolate and Strawberry Truffle……The dress looked wonderful under the next jacket that was in an abstract TORTOISE pattern. I collect antique Tortoise Tea Caddies, and they have these beautiful markings on them. It was a jacquard Ponte knit with a stand collar and a zip front. The pockets were in the seams for a sleek look, and that’s just how this jacket made everyone look……SLEEK. It was very popular, and to this day women still tell me how much they love how they look in this jacket!…..There was also a Ponte pencil skirt in Cobalt, Black and Chocolate to coordinate with the other pieces in the group…………With this group of clothing another YEAR WAS COMING TO A CLOSE!!!!

“THE ABSTRACT PRINT JERSEYS”

……………….I was developing a very strong feeling for ABSTRACT prints. I had done many florals and paisleys and medallion prints, but abstracts looked fresh and new. I also thought they might attract women who didn’t care for prints. There were two pieces in the print, a draped neck V-neck top, and a boot skirt with a pleated center front. They looked great as a two piece dress or separate with solid bottoms and tops. The top, for the m ore daring, even looked wonderful under the Tortoise zip front jacket. Since the colors were all the same it just worked. The two pieces came in Chocolate, cobalt and Grey, all with Black.
