************THE TRENCH************

Zebra8

………………………..I was recently looking at the reviews of the trench. There are many sizes avail in all colors including the olive, which I know many of you wanted. I can only assume these are returns leading me to believe this will not be reordered. If you missed it the first time around this would be a good time to pick it up since I do not know how many there are in each size. I recommend this coat very highly. The workmanship, fabric and fit are all superb. This kind of quality garment doesn’t come to you very often so it would be a great purchase or present. For the price there is nothing comparable…………..Louis

I have two of your trench coats — olive and navy. Because of the changeable weather, I’ve only been able to wear the olive coat once. One day it’s 70 degrees, and another day it’s in the 40s. However, I’ll wear it out to lunch or to church later this fall.

Well, OK, I will reconsider. The Olive is the prettiest, but I can’t wear green. I have another brand in blue, but Wine is a good color for me. So help me. How heavy is it? Is it a rain coat? Lightweight? Is it warm enough for a cold winter day? I don’t think there are so many returns, many gals put items on check hold. I can’t tell you how much I love the tobacco zebra coat, I get so many compliments. Thank You, Thank You.

Dear Karen, It is not a raincoat….it is not a light weight coat like a cotton. I would say it’s a mid weight coat and it depends how cold you get. You can certainly wear it until it gets into the 30s or 20s, and with some layers maybe in to the high 30’s, but I think the women who own it can tell you better…..The wine is a beautiful color. If you own any WK in aubergine they are almost an exact match.

Absolutely love my trench and also surprised there are some available. As I was on waiting list!! This is one of my favorite pieces in your collection

    Love your designs Louis

Louis, I don’t believe there are as many returns as you may think. There is only one size 28 in the olive. There are less than 4 of the size 26 burgundy and just a couple of the olive. Totally sold out in 24, 22, 20, 16 and 14. In size 18 there are only 6 navy. In size 12, there are only 9 burgundy and 4 navy left. There are only 3 size 10 olive and 3 in size 8 olive. Drop down to the smaller sizes: only 3 coats in size 2 -total (2 burgundy, 1 navy). Size 4 only has one olive and 4 burgundy available to order. There are 18 navy in size 4 and 16 navy in size 6. But, only 4 olives across both sizes and like a dozen burgundy across the 2 sizes.

Size 8 and 10 burgundy seems to be the most plentiful and there are only fourteen of size 10 and seventeen of size 8. In size 8 navy, there are 22. These are the only sizes that have a larger amount in a couple colors. Unless QVC only ordered 2 dozen per size and color, the returns aren’t looking bad.

I meant to add, though, that I agree with you. I managed to get my 2 colors (all I need in Florida, LOL). But, if I wanted another, I sure wouldn’t wait on ordering.

    Dear Louis,

I have your fabulous trench in olive and navy–it’s my favorite piece from everything I’ve purchased this season. So chic and wearable. I also have a much-loved Burberry, which I save primarily for the rain. Your trench goes anywhere, anytime and is the one piece that elevates an understated, simple outfit to classic and elegant. I’m stunned any of these trenches are available in any size!!! Ladies, if you don’t own this beauty, you are seriously missing out!

And, I agree with Goldie–you are “the bomb” as the kids would say:) I’ve been a customer since your Anne Klein days, and we’re all lucky and grateful you continue to design and style for us.

I love my olive trench too I’ve only been able to wear it a couple of times because the weather here in NYC keeps going up and down like a roller coaster but I’ve gotten a lot of compliments as well and all my shopping buddies think I got it either at Saks, Lord & Taylor or Bloomingdales since I use to practically live in those stores. I should wear my trench to those stores to see the reaction especially from the salespeople that know me. I can’t imagine this trench not being a reorder either but stranger things have happened. Thanks Louis for being a mentor to the Q and I agree looking at the other fashions on the Q….often imitated, never duplicated!

How could QVC not reorder your sensational trench! Everywhere I go people compliment me on my Navy/Black trench coat. The fabric, fit details are all sensational.

On another note I have to compliment you again on a wonderful fall season. I am the gal from Chicago who took all of your clothes topped off by the Zebra coat in Tobacco for 5 days in New York. All of your clothing was perfect for my trip. I looked and felt perfect for a myriad of outings. Thank you Louis.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Joanne….I don’t know if it will be reordered or not. I am just assuming from what I see that it will not be a reorder. Since it was practically sold out and now there are many sizes avail in all colors I can only think there were many returns…..may be I’m wrong in my assumption…….I was wrong with the slim pant so we will see.

Dear Louis, YOU are “sui generis” (one of a kind — just like your designs and fashion ideas). In short, you are a gifted visionary. Your Linea Ladies realize that you are a rare gem and are very grateful that you have been at QVC, offering your exceptional garments and jewelry and showing everyone “how to do it” with originality and aplomb. Thank you!

    1. Goldie76

I meant for this message to go under your response to “Victoria 1.” Oh well. I stated my case.

  9. Melissa

Still no 2 in the olive, but at least I have my navy. I’m hoping it cools down here so I can wear my WK sweaters let alone the trench.

Have enjoyed your posts on some of your favorite things. I have the long faceted bead necklaces except I missed out on the gunmetal. Now I want the bead and metal bracelet! Am leaning towards two of the silver. Do they stack well?

Wearing the black cady shirt today. So comfy and flowy yet classy.

Looking forward to more sneak peeks of upcoming items. I noticed one of your shows was cancelled?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Melissa….I think two of the silver would be beautiful…..that’s the way I always show them …or mixed with a silver bangle in between…..perfect with the black shirt. The sneak peeks will be delayed since at this point I do not know when they will be on.

      1. Melissa

I’m disappointed to hear that they will be delayed, but I will wait patiently. In the meantime, I have plenty of Linea goodies to enjoy and I’ll order the bracelets to tide me over. 🙂

Beautiful Trench Louis…mine was mistaken for a Burberry☺️ And I must say never seen so much non- Linea pink on the Q since you started Giving grown women the perfect pink WK…to be constantly copied on so many items, but never as beautifully as your originals makes me shake my head, smile and keep buying Linea!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Victoria…..since Burberry was the original maker of the trench…ALL trenches are derivations of that original WWI coat. To be mistaken as a real Burberry is a compliment…….On another note…..when I first wanted to do PINK 15 years ago for QVC I was told no it won’t sell. I said to the buyer at the time that every time I did pink for Anne Klein or Anne Klein11 is was very successful……I haven’t stopped doing it in 15 years….Also, when I first did leggings for QVC absolutely no one, and I mean no one was doing them. Again, I was looked at like I had 5 heads…Needless to say leggings took off in a big way and are more popular than ever………Another think I introduced to QVC are “Sneak Peeks”. They never used that term and never ever posted garments until the actual sell during the show. Now they post days and sometimes weeks before. I have to be careful they don’t sneak peak my sneak peeks!……Also, none of the designers styled there shows with accessories the way I do. That came from my training at AK. Now they all do it………I think I’ve taught them a few things over the years.

      1. Pecan Cookie

Clearly your mentoring was badly needed. 🙂 Often imitated, never duplicated!

      2. Victoria1

You have absolutely raised quality of design and creative theater when showing clothes at the Q …berets, sunglasses, jewelry…and the quality of your design and finished garment runs circles around all designers on the Q…that is simply a fact…just wishing I had bought doubles of the drawstring ponte knit pants with the quilted vests. i have rhe brown and gray pants with Brown and Blue vests…Your magic Louis…is we are always wishing we had bought one more of a particular item or items….Sportswear is the key to every well dressed woman.Pieces you mix and match…I was in Nordstoms with those brown drawstring pants, your new natural hoodie sweater with the brown quilted vested…I took time and looked and comparable pieces on the floor at Nordstoms would cost $750 today…I Decided to look because a woman wanted to know if I got my vest and hoodie at Nordstroms and she went bonkers when I showed Her the pants were drawsting…she kept saying perfect outfit…Thank Goodness for Louis Dell’Olio Ladies
