“MAY SNEAK PEEK #2”

With a little time waiting to leave for our trip…I thought…Okay…one more sneak peek to tide you over. This is my CAFTAN DRESS,  A224711. The fabric is new…..it’s a crepe georgette. What’s the difference between a crepe georgette and a regular georgette? A crepe georgette is a little heavier and not as see through…….but is still considered a sheer fabric. The colors are BLACK…..BRIGHT BLUE……. RED. The caftan dress comes with it’s own slip liner [photos above]. I do NOT think the slip, in this fabric, is appropriate to wear on it’s own as a dress. This is a CAFTAN dress….why the capitals?….because it’s supposed to be OVER SIZED….if you are of the mind there is too much fabric….this is not for you. I would also not size down because the slip will be to small……Ladies that is the look of this type of dress and I think it is chic, chic, CHIC. This is a true accessory dress, so have fun. You will notice in the photo to the left I have the blue dress with WHITE LEGGINGS and a WHITE TANK. I think doubling this dress as a tunic is a versatile way to wear it. The fabric tailors beautifully….so the collar and the placket down the front are sharp and clean. The dress for size xs is approx 36 1/2 inches. Of course the dress and slip are both washable so add this to you list of things to take on your next trip. The close up in the lower right shows [not too clearly] the sunburst darts that give the dress bust room and balance. You can always put your own slip or tank dress under this caftan if you prefer. It is a totally different kind of dress from anything out there in caftans….because of the length….the others are all long which can make them overwhelming. Many of my ladies have vacation plans to far away places and this very comfortable dress will work right in. What I am trying to do is give you a dress wardrobe of different silhouettes and lengths that you will enjoy NOW and for YEARS to come………….speak to you in a week!……..much Love, Louis

There goes my budget! I defnitely have to have one of these caftan style dresses. I am tall, but by no account slender, so I am going to trust Louis that this will work for all figure types. Most certainly a black , and maybe a red? Cannot wait for May.

Louis, this dress is magnificent!!! Unlike anything I’ve seen. Elegant, classic. You are killing me….I must have blue and black!

Louis, I love your Caftan dress…I have a photograph of me wearing a similar dress at a wedding in the early 80s. It was wholly chic then as now. My dress did not have a collar but a jewelneck and a placket down the front. It was Navy and I loved that dress. Such a chic chic look.

Just one more sneak peek…you’re are teasing us and I am loving it!
    Thanks!

What a great new look; I’d never have called it a caftan! To me, those are the long shapeless printed things that one can wear to hide behind.
This looks sexy and cute without being obvious.. and reading your comment, ” it has a quiet sexiness”!

Thanks for another WOW sneak peek. Have a wonderful trip and we’ll look forward to “seeing” you in May.

    Almost forgot – Bon Voyage!

I’ll take one in Blue, please.

I love the style contrast between the collar and placket and that airy fabric. It reminds me of a blouse of yours that I have and always receive compliments on – A86855, the chiffon pleated blouse with the tank. The collar and cuffs make it look like it’s all business, but the fabric has all that flowy movement.

    Love it.

You’re killin’ me! 🙂 Chic is right – WOW! I do not know how I will ever decide which color – all three are favorites of mine.

I love this as a tunic. What a great modern look for a caftan. I find most caftans only suitable for wearing at home or as a beach cover up. Thanks for this great leave behind on your way to your wonderful trip abroad.

I’m definitely getting the blue, but maybe I’ll go for the black as well. I can see the black really dressed up with some great bling for a chic evening look.

    Bon voyage!

These are beautiful Louis! I have a couple of questions. What’s the length of this dress? Was that the 36.5″ that you referred to? Where is it supposed to hit? Above the knee? Also, how will this dress look on your shorter curvier ladies? I fear this will only work for the tall and slender… Thanks! BTW, I’ll post this in the Ask Louis section as I’m not sure this is the appropriate spot for questions.

        Dear Jeanie,
It doesn’t matter what kind of body a person has in this dress…the dress really camouflages everything. It’s more a matter of…do you feel comfortable wearing a caftan type dress. The length of the dress is going to vary on every woman, there is no one proper length. It’s fine above, mid or below the knee…..it’s totally about your attitude wearing it. You need confidence wearing a caftan dress because it has volume. At the shorter length and the 3/4 sleeve….I think most women can carry it off….plus it’s really comfortable and cool while being covered up….it has a quiet sexiness.
