“THE CHIVE SHIRT & CHIVE SUNBURST PLEATED SKIRT”

words5

……………………..I always love anything that hints of SAFARI……….The new CHIVE FAUX de CHINE SAFARI SHIRT, A288388, has a little more than a hint. This shirt has an easy straight fit, with a gentle scoop neck. It has a placket button front, a yoke and small epaulets……..a sure sign of safari. There are generous side slits for extra ease. The 3/4 sleeve has a band cuff and two buttons for adjustment. The shirt is approx. 27″ for the xs…….I have the blouse shown above with two different bottoms…..the vintage faux linen herringbone pants, and the NEW matching CHIVE SUNBURST PLEATED SKIRT, A288389…..Sunburst skirts are “the skirts of the year”. They are in every magazine at all kinds of lengths and a variety of fabrics. Some may still have the sunburst pleated skirt I did a few years ago…..I hope you saved it!…….The pull-on skirt has a full elastic waist, and measures approx. 26 to 27 inches depending where you place the 1″ waist band……..I have the new ALABASTER Safari Georgette shirt, A214117, worn with the Chive skirt [photos at upper right]….Those two colors together really say “SAFARI”..Wear the new Safari blouse with a fabulous belt or simply worn loose and easy…..It can even be worn open with a tank for a cool summertime jacket…….I happen to like the CHOCOLATE JINGLE JANGLE necklace, J325473, with the Chive. The warm deep copper color looks very natural, and compliments the green. It is the only color left of the four that were originally avail. It truly is a fabulous, UNIQUE, and beautifully made piece. It’s a special color that  will go with so many things coming in the future…..The multi wire CUFF, J335214, is NOW AVAIL in the CHOCOLATE….Don’t miss out it is a very special color and can really make an outfit look NEW! If you don’t own chocolate a DEEP COPPER, it time you do!!……………….enjoy……………….much Love………………………Louis

Louis, I have a gorgeous pleated skirt of yours in a color that you called “tarragon”. Will the chive shirt work with that – if you can recall the color?

    1. Enjay

Actually, I just checked the item number you posted in response to Marla’s question, and I think it’s the same skirt.

That’s the skirt and the Chive and Tarragon do work together……now the question is can you cook mixing both herbs???

        1. Enjay

Yes! Do it all the time when I’m steaming clams or mussels!

I did get that skirt in olive. Love the color. Is this skirt the same color as the one a few years ago?! Hope so. I also bought the linen pants but not in the green. Will this blouse go with the other color of those pants? Thanks Louis for your lovely designs. I am always asked by people where I get my jewelry and clothes. Of course I tell them who and where. I figure imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, and I do want you to sell clothes so that you can keep designing them!

Dear Marla, If you are referring to A228339 [I still have my sample and it looks brand new], the olive is darker, however, that olive skirt and the new chive blouse look great together…The color hues are the same and work well off each other. I’m not sure which “linen ” pant you are referring to since I’ve only done faux linen. but I think you are referring to the herringbone pant above. The color above is in the olive family, and the other color was more neutral like a hemp color. The “hemp” pant looks just as good. Again, it’s all very safari coloring…..almost like wearing a chino pant with an olive top. They go together like bread and butter!I am so happy to hear you always get asked about your clothes and jewelry. That must make you feel good! ENJOY!!

Yes, it does make me feel good and confident! It is because you show us how to wear it and what jewelry goes with what. There are those ladies that already know how to do that, but I am not one!. Great about the skirt and pants, yes they are the faux linen. I wear them all the time, so one more thing I can wear with them!!! Thank you for the reply! Looking forward to more of your shows. I save them on my DVR so I can go back and check how you did things.

THANK YOU Louis for another collarless shirt for the warm weather months!
For whatever the reason, I look better in a collarless shirt.
Also love the tiny stand collar on your crepe gauze button front tunic.

Thank you for bringing us a skirt reminiscent of your scissor-pleated skirt of several years ago! Love that skirt! Just got Adobe and Navy sets.

Did I mean to write “knife-pleated”? What is “scissor-pleated”? Don’t believe there is such a pleat.

And just when I thought we were done for the day – I see this! WOW! I am fresh out of adjectives!
