“THE BLACK REEFER COAT”

reefer14

…………………A Reefer Coat originally referred to a man’s nautical coat……a Pea Jacket style, hence the name “Reef” coat, which was eventually elongated to Reefer. Over the years the definition of a Reefer coat took on a broader scope, and a man’s single breasted “blazer” coat came under the umbrella…….English haberdashers made the title of Reefer coat popular, and cashmere and Camel hair Reefer coats were the thing in the 20s and 30s……..Today a Reefer coat is basically a man’s or woman’s single or double breasted “Blazer” coat…………………..Blazers, in general, are having a strong resurgence. Notice how many blazers, whether solid, check or plaid, you see in many ads………….I thought the time was right, at the beginning of the curve, to introduce my version of the “Reefer Coat”………The style number is…..A298054…………..The fabric I chose is the same fabric as my “Trench Coat”, and last seasons coat with the gold nugget buttons. I wanted a fabric that I knew would tailor well, top stitch clean, and through seaming would create  the desired shape. It’s also a fabric, as many of you have discovered, that is the right weight for Fall, most of the Winter [depending where you live], and early Spring. The coat is fully lined, and has a shape that follows the line of the body. There are Princess seams where you will find hidden pockets, and body darts which create the shape. The back has princess seaming, again to give an easy shape. The coat has a notch collar and a four button front. There are shoulder pads which give the coat a stronger look. The long sleeves have three WORKING buttons. The front pocket flaps are ornamental……..The length of the coat for the size 6 is approx. 37 inches…….A BLACK coat is something many of you have, but a BLAZER COAT in BLACK is something special…..something timeless, and a forever piece………I chose to coordinate the coat with the WINTER WHITE “BIG DEAL” tunic shirt, A294605, worn over the BLACK SLEEVELESS WK TN, A293746, and the BLACK SUPER PONTE BC PANT, A268216……….The perfect accessory…..the WINTER WHITE WK SCARF, A295909, is not only GLAMOROUS…..it’s functional, and feels so GOOD!…………..and the TRAPEZE NECKLACE in shiny BLACK, J331644, a truly unique piece, is returning this month!……………..I know if I saw a woman dressed like this entering a room, I would do a double take!!! CHIC…absolutely……….and oh so CLASSY!…………………………….enjoy………………….much Love……………………………Louis

Wow! A must have! Would I take the same size as a took in the trench coat and the Nugget Coat?

I was wondering the same. Will we go by the trench coat size or the Nugget? I can hardly wait for this one. You can never own too many classic Linea coats, right??

Since the nugget coat was for of a shaped coat that is what you should go by.

If you took the same size in both…yes.or else go by the nugget coat.
