“SNEAK PEEK ANIMAL PRINT DRESS”

Hello Again! With all of the shows and showings next week, I will just have to pile on the sneak peeks!! The ANIMAL PRINT DRESS IS….. A227573. As you can see it will be avail. in two colors…..HENNA/BLACK……and….GREY/BLACK. The dress has a back zip and is approx. 41 inches long….great for boots or black tights and pumps, ankle boots etc. etc. The dress has princess seams with INSEAM POCKETS. There is a seam down the front that goes into an INVERTED PLEAT. This avoids pulling at the pockets, and in general gives the dress ease. The fabric is a light weight Ponte Knit and is a Poly/Rayon/Span blend. You can wear it belted just to change things up, but it was fit to be worn without a belt. The shape grazes the body and follows the form without any tightness. For those days when you just don’t want to think about the coordinates…..this is an easy, simple and comfortable way to “dress”…not to mention a very sophisticated way to look. I think this print takes animal prints to a new level. The grey is a HEATHER GREY which makes the fabric look very expensive, and it is VERY SOFT…………..Now back to the Olympic Games!…………………Enjoy……………. much Love, Louis

Well, since I have the grey pearls, I guess I must have the grey dress! Thinking this one is super-slimming with all that tricky seaming, right?

    What a lovely dress!

Oh, Louis … loving these sneak peeks! What a nice surprise break from the Olympics 🙂 Would love a new dress … at 5’3″ short, 2 -3X, much smaller bust than hips, I was afraid the beautiful python dress was not the dress for me … what do you think about this one, or should I stick to separates and brushed cotton jackets LOL?

    Thanks again; enjoy the Olympics!

Dear Cathy, I would love to say….”give it a try”, but you would know best what your success rate is with dresses like this. A dress is just as hard to fit as a pair of pants, because for a dress of this style you would have to be some what in proportion for it to fit properly….meaning….the larger or smaller one area of the body is to another, the more difficult it is to get the proper fit. Just from your comment, maybe you should stick with separates and create a dress look that way…..where you can buy the size you need for the top and bottom. I’m not saying you have to be in perfect proportion, but if your hips are three sizes bigger than your top. it probably will not fit well. Now, this has nothing to do with size or weight……it’s about proportion.

Thanks, Louis … indeed, dresses are more difficult to fit … Do you find this fabric to be very “clingy” or is there a bit of body to it? As I’m approx. 1 – 1.5 sizes difference in proportion, I might just give this a try. Sometimes fit is surprising; for example lots seem to find the brushed cotton jacket to be more fitted; for me the fit is perfect. That grey dress is divinely elegant!

        Enjoy your Sunday,

It’s not a clingy fabric at all. It’s a ponte jersey and definitely has body, though it’s not heavy.

Hey, it’s worth a try, on the chance that lovely elegant grey dress works for me And I must say, had I seen Maria in that Chili Pepper Python Dress in the first presentation, I would have ordered that to try too; she looked sensational in that dress today, without a jacket to cover up … just sensational!

I wasn’t home for the 4pm show today after all, due to an emergency … but all is well, and I managed to order everything I really wanted this afternoon on my cell phone LOL.

Thanks for all the tips and help,

Beautiful dress……pile on the sneak peeks…we can take it. LOL

Just thinking….how about putting the faux suede jacket in black with the gunmetal/silver trim over this dress? Do the styles work together?

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

        Sherry,
That would be a fabulous combination…..

Thank you, excited to get this one…

I would say it’s softer, lighter in weight and it has more drape. I wouldn’t necessarily use this fabric for a tailored jacket, but it works perfectly for dresses. It has more structure the the regular poly jerseys. I could not make this dress in the ponte I used 3 years ago….it would be to stiff for this dress.

Sounds perfect! I’m just amazed at all of your clothes for this round of shows–such variety and attention to detail. Your designs just keep getting better and better! Love it! Travel safely.

Beautiful dress design! In your description you say that this ponte knit is lightweight. How would you compare it to your ponte knit of a year or so ago? Thanks! Can’t wait for the shows!
