“THE IVORY BLAZER & BLACK TROUSER”

Q1,2018

………………………I am starting off this season’s sneak peeks with Jac and my FAVORITE piece……….THE WHITE BLAZER………A302542………I talked with Jac about what she would want this jacket to look like……so it is a true collaboration……I am very sad to say Jac never got to see the final jacket sample…..only the sketch….but I know she would have loved the way it came out…….This is a new STRETCH fabric, and the hand is smooth, like a silky Italian gaberdine…The tailoring is perfection….The jacket is fully lined…..The shoulders with their shoulder pads and “sleeve cap” pads give the jacket a wonderful “hang”. It looks great both buttoned or worn open……It is shaped, but not overly fitted. It has a one button front with a slight cut away at the bottom. The flaps conceal working pockets. If you want to use them you will have to snip the threads, but personally, I would never use these pockets……but I also hate fakes….so I leave it up to you….. The lapel and collar are exactly as we wanted them to be……not too small or too big, but very modern……I decided not to have the buttons on the sleeves with working button holes so there will not be any problem shortening the sleeves if necessary….The jacket is numerically sized 2-28…..The cleaning instructions say it can be machine washed, but I know neither Jac nor I would ever put this in a washing machine. I would always dry clean a tailored piece like this. When I received the jacket I steamed it and it came out well, but again, if I owned it I would have it professionally pressed……They just do a better job then a steamer could ever do…….I truly adore this jacket for what it stands for…..it is in honor of Jac……but I would be lying if I didn’t say……………it also makes me melancholy…………………………………………………………It will always remind me of my Jac

………………THE TROUSER PANT……….is also in the same fabric. The leg is a slight boot cut, and it drapes beautifully. It has a zip front with a single button waist band. It has a full elastic back. There are mens’ trouser pockets to give the pant that Hepburn/Dietrich look…………The pant will come in TWO LENGTHS…….A302544 is the regular length at 32″, and A302547 is the petite. I’m not sure of the length, but they usually make the petite length  three inches shorter. The Ivory tank under the jacket is the A237404, which many of you already own. I accessorized the outfit with the SHINY BLACK TRAPEZE necklace……there are very few left in inventory……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

……………………..I realize that this blazer is not for everyone…….It wasn’t designed for everyone…………This one is for my Angel………………enjoy……………much Love………………….Louis

Hi Louis! I’m thinking of you! Just quickly, is there a back vent? I missed any shots from the rear view…thanks!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Trish, there is no back vent. I prevent the backs clean, especially for Ivory jackets.

Watching an episode of “Grace and Frankie” on Netflix. Jane Fonda is wearing a blazer pant suit in blue. She has the long legs for it.

I can’t imagine a more fitting tribute to Jac than this blazer. It is beautiful and classic, just like her. I’ll wear this with pride and black linen slacks w/espadrilles, cuz that’s just how I roll. Here’s wishing you the best luck, and courage, for your return to the air. We’re all rooting for you.

I like how you roll…..I roll that way too!

Do the pants have pockets & are they letter or numerically sized? They look terrific!
