“THE BLACK FLORAL SKIRT”

…………………..After the 4th of July one can’t help but think ahead to fall……The days go by so quickly, the days are getting shorter, and if you blink it will be September…..which brings us to a very interesting period in Fashion….TRANSITION…………….Transition truly starts in August, but if the clothes are light enough they can be worn as soon as NOW. When you start seeing “back to school” ads you know it’s time to start thinking about putting away the white cotton dresses and bright summery colors for darker richer colors in light weight fabrics. Many of these fabrics can be worn all year long…….So, that brings us to what you see above…..The three garments are all planned for July. The “SOFT FLORAL SKIRT”, A341732 for the regular length and A341733 for the petite is coming next week…As you see the buyers keep adding more and more styles in petite….The truth of the matter is….the more they sell…the more they will add…..The floral skirt is made in the CRINKLE GEORGETTE as all the Boho skirts with the same tricot lining. Therefore, you know how light the skirt is! This is a pull-on skirt and the reg. length is approx. 35 inches long. This, however is NOT A BOHO SKIRT. Yes, it has one tier, but that doesn’t qualify it to be called a boho. A Boho has three tiers or more. I call this a “SOFT SKIRT”, because it drapes and hangs very softly… Why have the tier at all?? I have found with the one tier it enables me to control the fullness at the waist, over the hips and tummy area, and then adding more fabric to the second tier which gives the skirt more fullness at the bottom where you want it. The color above is called BLACK MULTI, but there are TEN SCREENS in this print, so there are many colors to achieve the look……The print reminds me of PRESSED FLOWERS, and has a very romantic look. Nothing is sharp about this print. All the edges are soft like a watercolor. This was not an easy print to make. Layering one color upon the other to create the softness and clarity of color takes the knowledge of the finest screen makers. These kinds of prints just don’t happen, and choosing the colors for each one was a challenge….but that’s the fun of it….The EMBROIDERED CREPE GAUZE TUNIC, A341734, in Black and the MOSS CREPE TOP, A341728, are to come, and both work perfectly with this skirt……………You can wear this skirt as soon as you get it with a tank, the V-neck tee, A308450, the Crepe Gauze tunic, A293753, the georgette peasant top in the same Crinkle georgette, A306416, and the mixed media tunic with 3/4 sleeves, A304735 etc etc……belt the tops or not…. Add a pair of sandals, espadrilles or wedges to extend summer dressing……..As the weather gets cooler and cooler, wear a pair of tights for warmth, a pair of boots, any of the tops above with a leather or Shearling coat…..Oh yes, the necklace…..the new Carnival in PLUM and GUNMETAL………When fall and winter come you’ll be ready!………….I will be showing this skirt on July 19th, INSPIRED STYLE, at 7:00pm on the Main Channel!………………………………………enjoy………………………….much Love…………………………Louis

Wow!!! I am attending a wedding in December (in Florida) and was wondering what to wear. I should’ve known you’d be offering something perfect. Only question is which color(s). Beautiful!!

Wow! I needed these photos and descriptions of all of these lovely transitional fashions to soothe my heat and humidity soaked psyche! In the midst of a dry and very muggy Tennessee summer, I often think ahead to the cool, crisp fall mornings that (I know) will come eventually. These are wonderful, as usual, items to transition in the South particularly because the colorations are fall but the fabric isn’t heavy. Now if I can just decide which ones to get! Decisions are so hard with all of your items. Thank you for these enticing tidbits to make my day brighter! (P.S. Our Corgi, Silas, is also wanting fall to come as he does not like hot weather at all.)

Lovely ensembles! The embroidered tunic, is that a full button down tunic or just a few buttons at the neckline? This will be a fall offering, correct?

As you can see from the embroidery design it is a Henley style and the emb goes all the way around it. I will be showing it on 7/16 QVC1 on Kerstin’s closet at 3:00pm

Good morning Louis! I love this new transition capsule. I’m hoping the wine leathe jacket from last year will work with this black multi skirt.
I have started collecting your jewelry over the past year and am thankful how past pieces work back to your new designs. I won’t know until I try but I’m thinking that the facet glass beads in Alabaster as well as the Mardi Gras necklace may work with these new designs.
    Grateful as always! Ginny

PS. Dave and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary recently. I wore Linea head to toe. The orange print boho big deal along with the white off the shoulder peasant top and orange carnival necklace. As we were being seated a woman from across the restaurant came over and complimented me saying she wished we would go back to the time when people dressed up for dinner. It made my night!

Ginny…all your jewelry will work with this fall line up. Except for the most summery pieces jewelry should be season-less.

        Have a wonderful weekend!

at almost 87 years I vowed no more clothes but I can’t resist. It’s like potato chips you can’t just have one.

Beryl….at our ages we don’t need to put restrictions on ourselves! We many as well enjoy everything while we are able to!
