“TCJC”

……………………..As many of you know TCJC is the jewelry company that I work with. They are in charge of producing my designs. They have a stellar reputation, and in the past have worked with many of the best lines QVC has offered such as Noland Miller and Kenneth J. Lane………As you also know they stand behind their product, and as a courtesy to the clients, they are willing to make repairs and even re-plate their products if possible, at no additional cost to you. The Linea client, only has  a small return shipping fee to pay. TCJC is not obligated in any way to offer this service……….It has very recently been brought to my attention that product has been sent to them, with a Louis Dell’Olio tag, to be repaired, which was not made by them. How do we know this, because the necklace sent was never produced by them or sold at QVC. Where this necklace came from is a mystery to all, but the sender knows that she did not purchase it from QVC. It is TCJC’s policy to only fix Linea product that was sold by QVC, since QVC is Linea’s only selling outlet. They will not be responsible for items bought from ebay, Amazon or any other retail outlet since they did not ship items to them and can not be responsible. I think it is a shame that a few can tarnish this good will, and possibly bring a wonderful situation to an end. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this has happened. TCJC is still deciding how to handle this, and if they continue to provide this service, they may require a copy of a bill of sale proving the item was indeed purchased from QVC. It does not make me happy to type this note to you, but it is my obligation to you and to TCJC to do so………………sincerely, Louis

TCJC knows what are their items from what is not their item. If this happens again, they can just mail it back to the person as others have said and they(sender) will be of of about $12-$15 .We need to start saving our jewelry receipts now because I certainly have not been saving mine just in case they start to require the receipts as proof of purchase. Don’t depend on QVC to give you older pack slips!

I’m surprised but at the same time I am not there is always one bad apple but I am disgusted that someone would do such a thing. I used the TCJC service for the first time a couple of months ago to repair one of my Y bar necklaces and it was repaired and returned in top condition and boxed like I just brought it if I’m not mistaken. I have to agree with the other comments to return the merchandise with a note stating this is not our merchandise!

Oh Louis. So sorry that you have to deal with this when you and your manufacturers obviously go “above and beyond” for us. I have never sent anything to be repaired but it’s reassuring to know it’s possible. Hope it resolves to your satisfaction. Thanks for all you do. Pamela in the HOT SS.

    Dear Louis,
This is appalling. It is another example of the sense of entitlement I see all too often these days with people cutting in lines, parking illegally in handicap spots and many other examples of selfishness and lack of civility. Please do what ever must be done to stop this kind if behavior with your very nice jewelry manufacturer.
Thank you again for all you do for us,
    Ruth

Such a shame how people can take advantage of a good thing and ruin it for everyone else. I have a Linea faceted necklace from a few years ago that broke. It has bronzes and purples in it. I have been meaning to send it in for quite sometime. Probably don’t have the receipt for it anymore. And unfortunately as someone noted, I can’t get all my past purchase history from QVC anynore.

Perhaps requiring a receipt is a good thing. Guess I’ll have to start saving mine again!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Melissa…send it. That is a relatively recent item, and probably not difficult to fix.

      1. Melissa W

Ok, will do Louis. Thanks so much!

    Hi Louis,

Truly sad that someone would do this. For the last several weeks I had been working on a word document for my jewelry. It got to the point that I didn’t know what was in each box and wasn’t wearing the jewelry to its fullest extent. I decided to remove all the jewelry from its boxes and just store them in the organza bags with a word document in each bag. I now just need to read the description inside of each bag. I then proceeded to add a word document into the empty box with original receipt. These empty boxes will now be put into a large Rubbermaid container and stored away. I also have made up a small notebook with orginal pics and descriptions. I hope that your manufacturer continues this service to those who can verify original purchase(s).

    Thanks for all you do!

Having the receipt copied & sent is a good idea, but I have noticed that many of the older year’s order info has been ‘wiped’ from the QVC website. So procuring a receipt on older pieces might be a problem. How does one handle the situation if one no longer has the receipt or is unable to print one out due to lost data?

IMO, as someone said, the company should return the item back to the customer with the note, ‘Sorry but this is not our merchandise.’

Chris, it might be annoying but print out the receipt and place it in the box when you receive your new piece of jewelry that way in the event you need it, you, always, have it. It’s an extra step but will insure your repair.

      1. Chris/Jazzmom

I agree, but what if a person no longer has the receipt? What does one do then?

        1. Somersault

Chris, you can try your credit card company and especially if you used the Q card.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Chis….the company has documents of each item they have manufactured, and would more then likely fix anything they know is theirs. It was items that they new were definitely not made by them that caused this situation. Honestly, I’m probably more upset then they are!

Requiring a QVC receipt for the jewelry purchase is a good solution. I hope they opt for this and see if this new procedure solves the problem before they shut the door to this service completely. Saying that, I have never had a problem but I may start to keep my jewelry receipts -just in case.

I am so sorry to hear this, Louis. This is a wonderful service provided by you and your manufacturer, and it is upsetting to learn this has been happening. I have seen this before in life — something good is going on and then people start to abuse it and spoil it for everyone else. Look what happened at LL Bean. I can only hope that posting this will deter others from “trying” this again.

  11. Tylerpoo

That is a shame! I hope TCJC just ships it back to them not done and then they would have paid twice for shipping only!

    1. Fleur de Lis

That’s exactly what I said to do with a note saying….”Sorry, this is not our merchandise”.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

OK…I have been called a few things in my life but never Fleur de Lis!!!! LOL That was my response!

  12. Louis Dell'Olio

I too was very disappointed to learn this. It was naive to think eventually something like this wouldn’t have happened. I have no idea how many pieces were fixed at TCJC’s expense before they notified me. I guess this was the straw….asking them to fix something they knew wasn’t theirs. Every time a piece comes in they look it up to see what factory made the piece. We use a few different ones who specialize in metal, pearls, stone etc. so it isn’t that difficult to track. The owner of the company is a sweetheart and loves what he does, and thinks nothing of providing this service, but no one wants to be taken advantage of.

    1. Somersault

Amazing that she thought she would not be caught. They have her name and address, I hope they shared that with you as well.

      1. Kate

It could be that she bought what she thought was a legit piece of Linea jewelry on ebay and was just lied to by the seller?

  13. Somersault

Louis, what a disappointment that anyone would abuse the service that you and your manufacturer have afforded your Linea Ladies. It ruins it for everyone who has purchased your jewelry from QVC. The lack of respect as well as decency is abhorrent. I know through kindness, some Linea ladies have posted where to return the jewelry to be fixed on the QVC forums. I feel that this should no longer continue on an open forum. I feel this is the place where the question should be asked. Your manufacturer is within it’s rights to request a copy of the QVC invoice before doing any repair. It is a shame that this could cause this service to be discontinued by the falsehood of others. Thank you so much for your kindness to all your Linea Ladies. oxoxoxo Cat

What a shame a few people may spoil it for the rest of us. I only sent one broken necklace to them and was very pleased with their service.

    1. Donna Aflague

      Louis,
I am shocked that someone would take advantage after all you do for us. It is remarkable that your jewelry manufacturer is providing this service in the first place and unthinkable that someone would abuse their kindness. Shame on the ladies who tried this!
