“SEPTEMBER SNEAK PEEK # 7”

September Sneak Peek #7 is an ENGINEERED……..”MEDALLION PRINT” sweater. The style is…..A228335. It is 100% cotton as other printed cardigans I have done and the reviews on the yarn have been  terrific. This is a crew neck cardigan that has the look of a vest. The trims around the neckline, the  hem and the sleeves are always SOLID BLACK. The print in in the front and the back only. I think it makes the medallion print look very special, instead of it printed all over. This is definitely one of those pieces you can use very casually or more dressed up. I have it paired with  my short sleeve shell sweater in black, my cashmere blend sweater in black and my new WK ballet neck tunic sweater………you can basically wear almost any style sweater under this cardigan. I chose to only show black sweaters under the cardigan, but there are many colors in each of the sweaters y0u can pick to highlight the sweater with. The colors are ……BLUE………PURPLE…….. MERLOT. For bottoms, I have the WK black pant, the black crepe sunburst pleat skirt and jeans. Again there are many things and colors you can put with these sweaters The length is approx 24 1/2 for the xs. It is a very unique print and was inspired by a scarf print that was given to me by Mr. Etro years ago. The black scrolls printed on either side of the body bring the eye in for a slimming effect. I know you all have a zillion things that can already work with this fun and sophisticated sweater…………….Enjoy……………Love, Louis

Upper Left Hand Corner–BREATHTAKING. Of course, I already have the black mock and will be wearing this look with it, in lieu of the turtleneck. This engineered print looks so EXPENSIVE Louis.
This, IMHO will totally go Black Tie. And, exect ladies who give presentations, speeches, etc. will have all eyes on them in this sweater. Those who do training will, too.
I also have the black knit pencil skirt, which I LOVE with the sweater for a totally SOFT SUITED look…Looking forward to another SPECTACULAR show, as they always are! CIAO

Louis, this is so wonderfully rich! Is that a vintage sweater guard I’m seeing on the merlot? My mom used to wear those with her cardigans when I was very young. So feminine! Safe travels to you and Jac.

Anne Klein Vintage….would you believe when I was packing it the chain broke….I will have to have it repaired. I also used them as lapel pins….putting one in the collar of the blazer and the other pinned to the breast pocket….or that area.

Oh, no! And it would have been so charming for the show. I’m so glad you shared it with us in your sneak peek. I’m inspired and find something similar now!

Louis, You are killing me!!! Not content to kill me while in the US, you are killing me in Vienna!!! We were on a very fashionable shopping street on Friday, BTW, and I saw a feather print blouse similar to yours. Not nearly as nice and detailed a print, though. $100 Euros. Will take a close look, but it looks like Merlot for me!

    Dear Louis,

IF you have time for a question: This lovely cardigan in PURPLE; what do you think of matching it up with last fall’s crushed velvet skirts, either the purple or the black or both? I own both, wondered especially if the purple skirt will work in color tones, and if the styles would work together?

Thanks, see you and Jac on the screen,

WOW…..I tried both skirts with the cardigan and they look great…….I would not have thought of that. The purple skirt also looks perfect with the purple sweater with the lavender ribbon trim…..and…….since I had it out I tried it with there Oct. items and ….PERFECTION

Oh, gosh … Right After I asked this question, a little lightbulb went off, and I went back to look at that upcoming velvet trimmed sweater (which I adore in all 3 colots …) … And you must have read my mind because here is that answer too; thanks!

AND it sounds like October is going to be a great birthday month for me … We leave tomorrow for our trip out to New Mexico … Guess I’d better not spend too much on silver and turquoise … that won’t happen LOL.

Great shows tomorrow! Cathy in PA

The blue is so coming home to me. I love that you give us pieces that add shock and awe to a basic pair of black wool pants and a tank. Could this be belted and worn under a blazer and if so, do you have a jacket of yours that you would recommend?

I had to look at this cardigan a couple of times and then I looked even closer. This sweater reminds me of a Dior printed cardigan I bought back in the 80’s. I have saved it, it just fits but still in perfect condition. I think I will love this in the purple or wine with the WK black pant. The print is beautiful.

I must have the purple in this beautiful cardi. I’m seeing turquoise in there! This is truly a work of art, especially with the design being back and front. Louis, you treat us very very well!

Dear Louis: That cocktail is still waiting for you, pretty soon, it’ll be over and you can head home and thoroughly relax with Jac and the Girls. I LOVE that black leather jacket but my hips won’t accommodate it, bless those who can get it. How are you EVER going to get everything in that magical two hour show, the A.M. is so limited in time. Building up to 15 min. on that elliptical at the gym and the other weight machines will get me into your jackets. I know you and Jac must be tired – enjoy whatever free time you two can grab. See you on TV.

GORGEOUS!! Mr. Etro’s scarves are great inspiration! I’m quite fond of Italian wool scarves (from Como area) and love that you’re incorporating these beautiful designs in your creations! Many thanks!

    Louis,
I love this cardigan, I am contemplating on getting the blue, It seems online, that the blue will go with the tarragon pleated skirt( which I already ordered, along with the matching shirt). Does it go togther? Thanks for your input. Love the design of the cardigan, very ethnic looking.

      Hi Nikki,
The samples are all packed away so I can’t answer your question……sorry

      1. nikki

Thankyou anyway, i will try it as it always goes with black. I always look lovely wearing your clothes. Looking forward to “seeing” you and Jacque on Monday

Should we go up one size if we are layering a sleeved top like a T neck under this cardigan or stay with our regular size Linea top? I’m concerned that the sleeves will make the arms of us look bulky either along the arms or at the armpit area. Also does the aubergine T neck or tank top look good under the merlot cardigan?

Its a gorgeous print pattern. How about a real vest in this print? 😀

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I will be showing it on the models layered….that may give you a better idea. I don’t think it would hurt to go up a size if you plan on layering it with a long sleeve TN…if it’s just with the short sleeve mock neck then it’s not necessary.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Aubergine looks great…..deeper but still good.

Love it! Makes me think of traditional oriental rugs. Ironically,I was looking at them today as I am considering putting one in my office and your pattern is dead on. Lovely! I’m a cardigan gal and this one is so different from anything I already have. I’ve been craving a more geometric pattern. Plus, I see colors in them that will work with many of the WK turtlenecks that I have. Looks like the Merlot has some mushroom and the Blue has some caramel. Wonderful. Adding at least one, maybe two, to my list for Monday’s show.
