“THE IVORY BOTANICAL TOP & SCARF”

………………………….For my first BIG DEAL of 2019 I am presenting my BOTANICAL PRINT FAUX DE CHINE TOP, A347495, and the matching SCARF, A347497………..This is an extraordinary placement print. The center floral panel and leaves are executed superbly, and the signature border frames the print beautifully….This print can easily be on any European runway…..that’s how beautiful the print is……The ground of the print is IVORY, and the borders are NAVY…..Due to the intricacy of the print I kept the design of the blouse simple. You might think that the scarf was designed first and then the top print was taken from that, but actually the opposite would be correct……First I designed the border print for the blouse, using the border to finish the 3/4 length sleeve, and again as a top yoke for the blouse…….Then we designed the 36 inch square scarf…..a classic size….which is fabulous on its’ own….What a beautiful present it would make!…….The top has a ballet neckline, because I wanted it to be uncomplicated for when you wish to wear the matching scarf.. There are side slits for an easy flow. The fabric is a WOVEN FAUX DE CHINE, and is 92% polyester and 8% spandex, so it has very good stretch for maximum comfort. It has a very SILKY hand, and even with the 8% spandex is very light weight……The top is approx. 27 inches long for the size 4. The blouse will be NUMERICALLY sized………The NAVY CROP PANT, A302601 gives the blouse a casual look…..With each Big Deal I always do a special piece of Linea jewelry……This time I have done a MULTI COLOR FACETED GLASS BEAD necklace and EARRING SET to coordinate with each print, J360760. The BLUE MULTI was done to go with this print color, but actually I like them all layered with each print. They will also work with so many of the things you already own, and with many more things coming this Spring 2019 like the WILD FLOWER ruffle skirt and peasant blouse……..When I look at this outfit with the Botanical floral blouse and crop pant….I can’t help but think of the “Swans of 5th Ave”, a wonderful book that takes you into the inside world of the Cafe Society women such as Babe Paley, C.Z. Guest, Slim Keith, Gloria Guinness and Patricia Buckley. I can see any one of them in this complete outfit with the scarf wrapped around their heads Grace Kelly style, BIG SUNGLASSES and Ferragamo flats.  A little something they picked up at Hermes for a quick weekend get away to Palm Beach, Jamaica or Antigua………..This is a timeless classic blouse that will never go out of style, and will be admired for years to come…………………………………….enjoy………………………….much Love……………………………….Louis

Louis, you have really out done yourself! This is beautiful….. I can’t wait to order! Thanks for everything you do for us!

I love using cream and ivory with optic white. I think the ivory print will be lovely with optic white summer pants and some ballet flats or (for my budget) Sam Edelman horse bit sandals.

Love ballet flats and Capri pants with tese tops. It’s very Jackie O. I can see here strolling around Scorpios looking that way with either her hair pulled back or the scarf wrapped around her head…..BIG SUNGLASSES of course.

    Hi Louis!
Could you show the Ivory Botanical print with the Red ponte pants,Sapphire ankle pants and the Ivory slim pants during the
    BD presentations?
    Also, are the scarves signed?
    Thanks for all you do!
    Dawn

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Dawn the scarves are signed. I have the looks all set for the show. I will tell you the ivory is whiter than the print which is definitely creamer. I will see about maybe switching one of the pants for one of the presentations, but no promises.

        Hi Louis!
Good to know about the Ivory. It’s okay if you can’t show the looks. You’re always good about giving us suggestions. I looked & looked for the signature around the border of the scarves and my weak eagle eyes didn’t spot it. I’ll look again.
        Thanks for all you do!

Dawn…..it’s very very subtle and fades into the print, so I’m not surprised you couldn’t see it, but it is there.

February 27th can’t come quick enough! Every colorway is simply beautiful and these botanical prints are divine. So glad you are doing scarves too…..truly designer pieces to own.

I love the idea of using the scarves as table toppers. The Pink for my living room & the Mint in the kitchen!

  6. Carol

Does the ivory work with the white ponte crops from last season?

I love this print. The scarves are no brainers.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Carol…if you are referring to The A302601, no the pant is much whiter. I don’t offer a pant in the color of the print ground. It is much creamier. Printing a color, especially an ivory will often give you a different result than dying a solid.

Unreal. Truly. I mean, WOW. I must have them all (since I already have all the matching necklaces!)

Another lover of the mint and lover of the ivory here. Will be getting both. I’m thinking of that mint print mixed around with my Lemon Yellow boho skirt and top in a variety of ways. Of course the ivory is a no brainer with a Linea Navy something or other. Or the obvious Linea Ivory something or other. I think for example it might look dynamite with your ivory pleated skirt of some years back. As an ardent flower lover, I thank you for the artistic eye and love of nature apparent in this creation!

Oh Louis! These are enchanting!! Botanical prints may be everywhere this year, but only yours evoke dear Jac’s JOY in her flower garden she shared with us. Thank you for that 🙂 My choices will be Ivory for the sheer exhuberance of FLOWERS, and Mint for the elegantly subtle and unexpected sophistication of white flowers.

I love the scarves! I’m happy you did the classic 36” size. Now the hard part will be deciding which color?

    I am beguiled.

Why did I think I was going to be able to ignore your upcoming Big Deal? I saw the myriad colors in the necklaces and felt assured that no design could steal my heart with all those shades.

Forgot I was dealing with the “Color Maestro,” the “Color King.” Aw heck, the “Design King.”
