HALLELUJAH!!!!!!

HALLELUJAH………We have our phones , internet and TV back and things are feeling a little more normal again. We want to thank each and every one of you for ALL of your good wishes and prayers. It has meant a great deal to Jac and I! We feel like we are back in civilization. The house is being worked on and every day there is a little more light at the end of the tunnel. As you know Jac and I have a home at the waters edge and it is truly a little piece of Paradise. Who could ever imagine such disaster would fall upon so many. We all know the horrors of Katrina, but it becomes all to blaring and real when it is at your own back door……literally! Two good things came out of being cut off from the world….we had no TV or internet to see just how devastating this has been to so many and the fact that there was no cable, no TV, phones or internet, allowed Jac and I to spend much more time together………she is beating me in our gin rummy tournament. Even though we had a great amount of damage we thank God we still have our home. I can’t imagine how devastating and heart breaking it must be to come back to your home, after being evacuated, to find nothing at all. I don’t know how people can bare it. Again, Jac and I thank you so much for keeping us in your prayers.

Since we just got out cable back this evening, after deleting over 759 messages!!!! I am able once again to post some “SNEAK PEEKS”. The suit above will be on this Friday, Nov. 16th on the morning show which starts at 6am. I am not sure what time I will be on, but I am not at the very beginning. The jacket, A229713, is made in my textured weave fabric. Some of you may own the jacket with the pearl and twisted ribbon trims…..this is the same fabric. The jacket is trimmed in BLACK SATIN for ALL THREE COLORS. There is a stand up ruffle that goes around the neck and part way down the front. There is also a satin ruffle that trims the hem of the LONG SLEEVE and goes up the side slit of the sleeve. The besom pockets are also in the black satin as are the covered buttons. The jacket is also fully lined in satin. The approx. length for the XS is 23 inches. The colors are VIOLET, IVORY and BLACK. The Ivory and the Violet jackets look wonderful with the Violet/Black and Ivory/Black Hounds Tooth skirts from the last show, [look at photo above of the Violet combination]. Also, for dressier events, the jackets look fabulous over the sequin dress that will be shown on PM Style, Monday night on the 19th. In the photo above I have the Violet jacket over the Violet sequin dress.

There is also a matching TEXTURED WEAVE SKIRT to match each jacket…..in Violet, Ivory and Black. A229714 is the style number. It has a back zip and is approx. 24 inches long. What makes this skirt even more interesting is the little peplum set in at the back hem of the skirt……just to make it a little flirtatious! The skirt is fully lined in the same satin as the jacket. It is a wonderful companion to the jacket or a terrific skirt with just a Whisper Knit sweater. I know you will come up with many ways to wear both items. The jacket looks fabulous with a black tank and black leggings or jeans…..switch into a sequin tank and you are ready for any special occasion. Wear any of them over any LITTLE BLACK DRESS. This is the perfect suit for a second wedding or the MOB or MOG. There is always a good reason to own a special dressier jacket for all the occasions that spring up. Due to the weight of this fabric, it is suitable for three months out of the year…..if not longer…..depending on wear you live……………..with the Holidays coming….we all need something a little special…..I hope this is your something special! …………………………………………………………………Enjoy……………….much LOVE………………………Louis

Louis I just got my new suit and couldn’t be more pleased. It fits like you tailored it just for me. Thank you for the long, elegant sleeves and the fitted jacket. Perfection!

So happy you are pleased…….what color did you get?

I was debating but ended up with black on black. Looks great with the whisper knit pants too. LOVE it!

When I presented it on Friday morning, I showed the Ivory jacket with the black Whisper knit pants. They are my absolute favorite pants….I think it’s because they are SO BLACK.

          1. Donna

Louis, I have been enjoying the pants so much. I got all the colors and am thrilled to add them to my older, narrow style. Like wearing pj’s and they look so high end. Thank you for everything you do and hope you and Jac had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration. We all have so much to be thankful for…

Oh Louis, are you channeling my thoughts?

Have a wedding @ Lake Tahoe in Jan. (actually a “Vow” renewal) & this suit in Ivory is perfect for the occasion. Will be an intimate affair (5 couples) & Black Tie. The bride has requested the ladies dress in Ivory/Black to contrast with her Red dress – should make for some excellent photo ops!

And I sure wished for that matching skirt. Have the long sleeve Black & Pink in the textured ribbon/pearls jackets (missed out on skirt) from seasons back. Thanks for keeping your collection so cohesive – Linea is ‘FINE’ investment dressing – My wardrobe keeps getting more versatile with each beautiful item I purchase! Anxious to check out that flirty, little peplum on the back hemline, too!

Do you think the sequin drape neck top (Black/Dark Silver) is a compatible neckline to the Ivory/Black Jacket? TIA

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I hope you are pleased with the suit. I honestly think the cowl and this jacket might fight each other. Something simpler underneath like a plain black sequin tank would work better. I think Joan R has one?

      1. Pamela in Anchorage

Yes, I was concerned about too-much fabric of the cowl that this jacket would not look so polished when all-buttoned up! Should accept delivery of the jacket & skirts late next week (takes longer to AK) – have a Bob Mackie silk tank & a Black satin – maybe I’ll get lucky with the shades of Black matching?

Hope to see a presentation of the boardtail faux jacket on PM Style? Have a joyful Sunday.

        Thanks for your reply.

The sequin dress is the very first item in the show and the jacket is the second…..two items back to back and we will be on our way home.

I missed out on the original black skirt to match off with the black and cream pearl ribbon jacket (not the original one but V.2). I cannot wait to see these two fabrics together for a suited look in black. I also purchased the violet version of the jacket to wear with the HTC violet/black skirt. I like wearing items as separates too.
Great show this morning with Leah.

  4. Kate

I bought the black suit and am excited to wear it this holiday season but think I will more often break it apart and wear as separates. I can totally see the jacket with jeans and boots!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I like it broken up too…..I thought I would offer a matching skirt for those occasions when a skirt is more appropriate….like MOB etc.

Welcome back! And…what a fabulously elegant suit. I need both the violet and the black. I, too will pair it with the violet dress, and…skirts and….

How wonderful to hear that you are making progress in the clean-up effort Louis!!! I am SO going to enjoy your appearances in the next couple of days – to see your and Jacque’s smiling faces – and know that things are “well” with you – even if you are the underdog at gin rummy 🙂 Huge best wishes!

    Louis,

It is so great to see that you all are back on the grid! These jackets are exquisite. Just a masterful job! Can’t wait to see you tomorrow morning, bright and early.

Delighted to “hear” from you again! Can the sleeves on the jacket be turned back to make a cuff if you have sleeve length issues?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear designista,
The sleeve were not made to turn back so there is no facing of the jacket fabric on the inside of the sleeve. However the sleeve is clean finished with the satin lining right up to the satin ruffle so if you turned it back it would look like a satin cuff……but this is a lining satin and not the same as the satin trim. I think doing this looks best in the dark colors. It can be altered by a professional if you don’t like the idea of the satin lining turned back.

This is a lovely suit. I see you’ve put the purple jacket with the purple sequin dress. I just received mine yesterday, and had begun to cast about in my closet for a jacket to wear with it. It appears my problem is solved! I have gone purple crazy this winter. I just love the color.

It is sad to hear that your home was damaged, but glad you’re able to fix it. Some of the pictures of areas that were hit brought to mind not only Katrina, but the recent tsunamis. Nature wields powerful reminders of how delicately it is balanced.

Looking forward to your coming shows.

Welcome back, gald to hear things are getting better day by day. All I have to say about this outfit is….WOWZA!!!

    Hi Louis and Jac,

Welcome back; we’ve missed you both. Glad the work to restore your home and property is ongoing; I’m sure it’s an uphill battle, but a little each day … and you, Jac and the girls are all okay. We pray for those who are not okay, and the relief workers who care for them; my cousin on Staten Island told me Monday he’s in a little island of calm in a surrounding sea of chaos.

We’ve all been just itching to see the mysterious satin ruffle trim suit; how lovely! And what a difficult color choice again LOL … Q just shipped me the Teal Solid Jacket today; it will arrive tomorrow to join it’s fellow Topaz and Violet Jackets to make triplets … from the lady who swore she was not going to do any more multiples … but those are just fantastic jackets; kept me nice and warm the last couple of weeks. I added a big antique cameo and matching earrings to the Topaz jacket, with black companion clothing … perfect!

Thanks for posting this; try to get a little rest, and we’ll so look forward to “seeing” you Friday morning 🙂
