“DECEMBER SNEAK PEEK #3”

The December Sneak Peek # 3 is the A230027, Ponte Knit dress. I have used this fabric this past fall for dress style A228334. It is substantial, but still has a soft hand and drapes perfectly for the styles I have designed for it. It is a polyester/rayon/span blend. This dress has beautiful, but subtle detailing. It has LONG SLEEVES, and they can easily be altered if you need to have them shortened. I prefer just pushing them up for a more relaxed attitude, but that’s up to you. The dress has a V-NECK LINE, which I know so many of you prefer, because it does elongate the neck and looks great with jewelry. The dress is approx 40 inches long for the XS size. There is also a back zipper and a hook and eye at the neck. The front seaming of this dress is very unique. There is a center front seam which creates an INVERTED PLEAT, and the body seams on each side also ending in a pleat which gives the skirt, combined with the inverted pleat, a BOX PLEAT effect. Under the outer pleats….cleverly hidden…….there are POCKETS!!!!. Please notice in the photos of the dress without the belt the detailing of the 2 rows of top stitching which holds the pleats in position, and also provides an additional DESIGN DETAIL. This gives the wearer the opportunity of wearing the dress without a belt and to still look finished. Most importantly the dress STILL MAINTAINS a lovely SHAPE. This dress can easily become a WORK HORSE in your wardrobe as it is perfect f0r any occasion. Keep it plain and simple and let the jacketĀ  be the accessory….or…..layer all types of jewelry, belts, scarves or whatever else you may conjure up!!! The colors are………………………RASPBERRY…………………………CHOCOLATE [scroll down for more pictures]……………………………and the perfect LBD!…………………………..

I know many of you who love dresses or have discovered them again, will love the easy and comfort of this new addition. REMEMBER…..I will be showing this dress on Dec 26th, at 9PM on PM Style with Ms. Lisa Robertson!

……………………………………..Enjoy…………………much Love……………………..Louis

Mine arrived over the weekend (black, of course) and the only word is fabulous. I have a super expensive wool crepe dress that is similar, and yours actually is nicer in terms of fit. And it is comfortable, easy and has a clever bit of tummy camouflage which, while not something I usually look for in clothes as I’m a no-pain/no-gain sort of fashionista, are huge bonuses during these cold, cold months. I would have preferred a deeper V, but other than that, it is a great buy. Works well with lots of jewelry, too! In case anyone is wondering about fit, I ordered my usual XS and it is more fitted than other Linea dresses (all those seams, I guess) but not tight. I shall post a glowing review.

Dear Kate……..I’m so happy you liked your dress! As far4 as the V is concerned…..I would like it deeper too, but QVC has certain dictates when it comes to V-necks……We have learned….the lower the V….the higher the returns.

This raspberry is so lively and bright for winter…is it more toward the color of the dress in the corner or the field?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cela, the raspberry is really not like any of the photos in that the actual color isn’t as bright. It is more muted.

    Louis,

Another question, please … on the dress. I was thinking this was the same fabric as A227573 Animal Print Dress with Inverted Pleat, which I own and adore in both colors; I see I misread, and it’s the same fabric as A228334 V Neck Dress with Pleat Detail, which I do not have. Would you please, when you have time, give us a description of this fabric and the difference in weight, “hand”, texture etc. compared to A227573?

As a 2 – 3X pear shape, my head says get this new one in the LBD … my heart says Chocolate, and RASPBERRY; those colors sing to me …

    Thanks, Cathy in PA

Dear Cathy……I made a mistake about the quality and weight of the new dress. It isn’t either of the fabrics used before, but it actually is closer in weight and feel to the dress you own, A227573, which is a little heavier than the A228334, draped dress. If you like the animal print dress you already own than I know you will love this one in solid colors too.

There you go again with “understated elegance.”

Holy cow! I’m gone a week, and come back to find three sneak peeks–all of which I simply must have! Raspberry for sure in the dress and jacket, chocolate in the dress and cobalt in the jacket. Have not decided about the skirt yet. Of course, that’s just today’s choices. I have a few days to cogitate on it. What a delicious dilemma!

Really tough decision on what color to choose. I have the gray dress and love how it fits on me.

This is definitely a WOW item for me! I have the A228334 dress in all three colors and love it. Great fabric & fit. So I’m glad this Sneak Peek #3 is in three new colors. I haven’t bought any of the wine or magenta that was everywhere this fall, but I’m really liking this raspberry. Love the medium brown. Your colors are always what put the item over the top for me. Definitely getting two of these dresses. I’ll probably end up with all three like last time when I started with one and really loved it.

Excellent Louis – The ‘Chocolate’ will fill a void in my wardrobe!

Just missed your #3 cont’ post with the Chocolate while the coffee was brewing. One eye open if ya know what I mean?!

Been searching for THAT Brown dress FOREVER – Your timing is impeccable as is your designs.

Sneak Peeks are a real treat – Almost as good as the King Crab we’re having for Sunday Supper!

    Hi Louis,

Lovely designs as usual–anxiously awaiting your next shows on QVC. I have a question about the ponte knit dress. Regarding the two rows of horizontal stitching that hold the pleats in place, is the horizontal line suppose to fall at the natural waist line???

Another question–are the triangular shaped drop earrings shown with the black dress going to be available to us?

Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy, and properous new year. Wishing you many blessings.

    Carol

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Carol……as you know everyone’s measurement from their “high point shoulder to their “natural” waist is different. Some are short waisted some are long waisted……if you are neither than I would say the horizontal stitching is slightly above the waist.
If all goes well…..there is a triangular drop earring coming.

      1. Carol in FL

Thanks, Louis for your response. That helps a lot! Also, thank you for all the detailed pictures, aka “sneak peeks.” They are wonderful and make it much easier to determine if the garment will work for me. Hope your Christmas was a good one. Drive carefully and I’ll “see” you soon!

        Carol

P.S. Great news on the earrings!
