Hello Everyone…….we’re back home!

Hi everyone!! I hope you have all recovered from the Linea Marathon!

First, I want to discuss yesterday and then the jewelry “wardrobe ” above.

My TSV day is over, and we are home with the girls and they couldn’t be happier. The little one, Samantha [Sammy], is a real daddies girl, and would not leave me alone for one second. When I sat down to watch some TV last night, she was all over me wanting her kisses and to be tickled! We left Ct. on Sunday at about 1:30pm, arriving in West Chester PA. about 4:30pm. I first stopped at the hotel to drop Jac off and bring the bags in, and then off I went to the QVC Studio to bring the accessories and prop clothing for the presentations. I worked with the stylists, setting up each show and putting the TSV looks together for each appearance I would make during the day. I also had meetings with the producers of each show, explaining how I wanted the clothes presented and which models would have to make an early exit to be able to make their next change…..there is much more to this than meets the eye. Hats off to the creative team at QVC who did the wonderful photographs of the model in the TSV navy and ivory jacket…..that were used for the advertising. I thought it looked very upscale and very editorial. Then I went back to the hotel…..showered and rested for a little while before heading back to QVC for the marathon day. All my girls were there…..Kate, Angela, Chantal, Brenda, and my Italian bomb shell….Maria. They couldn’t have been happier for me to have this TSV…..I have worked with most of them for the 13 years I have been at QVC. Leah looked amazing!! and I couldn’t stop looking at her in the monitor, and thinking WOW! Then the girls got dressed, Jac gave me a BIG KISS, and the show started……the hour was over in a flash……we were all happy. I was going to go back to the hotel as I was not scheduled to be on the 3am “hit”, and when I told the girls, who were all booked as LINEA MODELS, to be there…..there was disappointment in their “puppy dog eyes” when I told them I wasn’t going to be there. Jac said ….”Oh yes we are”, and I was glad to be there with my girls. I went to the producer of the 3am show and told him …If my girls are going to be there then I’m going to be there too! He told me I really didn’t have to do it, and I should get some rest…..but if my girls were going to be there at 3am, I would be there too. The rest of the day went like clock work, and everyone more than did what was necessary. I know there have been questions asked why I wasn’t on PM Style. I received the schedule of exactly when my TSV date and show times,   as well as what time the “hits” would be during the day…… well in advance of the show day. PM Style was never planned. Personally, I thought that was a mistake, because my working ladies, if they were not up for the midnight show, did not get a chance to see a live TSV presentation, and for that I am very sorry, but I do not make these decisions. We, the vendors, are given the dates and times by the QVC planners, and that my friends….. is that. My best compliment for the day came from Mary Beth Roe, who was so looking forward to working with me. She told me, before the show started…..standing in the models room, that she had seen the midnight presentation with Leah and bought 4 jackets for HERSELF. She is a Linea Lady and one of the sweetest women you will ever meet….she is a doll! She didn’t really want to say anything about her purchase on air, because she was afraid it might not sound right, but I convinced her she had to. If she loved the pieces so much that she had to have them for herself….she got the sweaters and skirts too….then that was the best endorsement. When she said, on air, that she loved everything about the jacket and she sees it all……she meant it. That made my day!! We did not have a sell out on the jacket, but it did do extremely well, in spite of the fact that it was really too soon after Christmas o have a “Designer” apparel TSV, but that’s just my opinion. All in all it was a great success and I only have all of you to thank for your belief in me…….From the bottom of my heart, and Jac’s…..we thank you.

The picture above is my idea of what your Linea wardrobe of jewelry is starting to look like with the addition of the new pieces. The wave earrings, J274836, the wave necklace J274835, the new watch with the panther link strap J273959, [none of my watches have nickle, I double checked with the watch maker], and the demi hoop earring, J270391……along with the chain necklace, bracelet, the chain hoop, love knots, multi cross necklace and earring, and the earlier metal pieces, you are building quite a collection of essential and fantasy  metal pieces………………..with more wonderful things to come……enjoy…..much LOVE, Louis

    Hi Louis,

Just received the wave bib necklace in the silvertone – WOW! It’s a beautiful substantial piece. Can’t wait for the goldtone to come in. This is an unbelievable value for the money. Great job!

I wasn’t able to order the earrings because they’re just a bit too long for me. The longest I can wear is a 2″ earring and even that is pushing it since I have a shorter neck. But they look spectacular as well.

    Jane

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jane…..I am so happy you like the necklace….sorry about the earrings. Can I suggest the demi hoops which are still avail in the same silver tone. The are avail in pierced only. The color is a match.

    Hi, Louis:
I received both the ivory and black TSVs, ivory, black and sea green WK scoop necks, the sea green Kate shirt, the pink WK tie sweater, the mallard T-neck and the ivory pants. Ordered my usual size medium. All fit perfectly. I have never been so pleased with a clothing purchase as I am with all of your clothes. Beautiful material, finished inside, extra buttons, perfect fit and sophisticated classics, oh my! The weather has turned warm for this time of year in Atlanta so I will be sporting my LDO to tomorrow. Thank you for understanding how to design clothes that actually fit and flatter a woman’s’ body. You are the best. Regards to Jac.
    Blessings, Fran

    Louis,
I am watching a Danish TV series, ‘Borgen’ made recently. The women are all professional politicians and TV reporters and most of them are wearing suits with a peplum jacket. Very attractive, so we are right in style .

I am love watches and purchased your panther link in silver, can’t wait to receive it. The TSV jacket, sweater and swing skirt.are all in process. It was a lovely day. Congrats to you and look forward to your next TSV.

  4. Barbara in Virginia

Thanks for the photo, Louis! OG’s personal shopper (ME!) has purchased the silvertone Waterfall Necklace, Earrings and Panther Link Watch in silvertone for me for my upcoming birthday. I will now send him a link to this picture! I also was hoping to see the new dress live, as well at the V-neck Ponte dress that I missed when it was presented. I had counted on being able to see the video and of course there isn’t one. My TSV, body suits and dancing skirt have all arrived and are all bit hits with me. I promptly ordered a second TSV in Ivory so am actually happy that the TSV didn’t sell out. I don’t think that those that remain will be in inventory long as others are also returning to purchase additional colors. I await the arrival of my three WK sweaters and the bow WK sweater in red. Wonderful shows! And am happy to hear that TPTB were happy with the sales.

  5. Clarika

Louis, I just received my two TSV blazers today. I was daring and ordered the sea green and the coral. I am going to keep both! The peplum is perfect and I cannot wait to wear them. I just wish I could have ordered the WK sweater too. Thank you so much Louis. My life is very casual but I love jackets and these hit the spot!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Clarika….I am very happy to hear this news. As the weather stars to change you are going to love the colors more and more. Don’t feel badly about not getting the sweaters….there are lots of things that you can wear under them, but if you want, you should go on wait list……after a few weeks you will probably get them. Order the same size you ordered the jacket.

  6. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Dear Louis: I wrote my review – I’ll definitely post a condensed one 😉 on the item itself – under the heading at QVC on the Linea community board of “The TSV jacket exceeds my expectations in every possibly way!” But in addition to all of that I want to say that this amazing color TRUFFLE in the wrap skirt is phenomenal. It keeps delighting me as to what items in my Linea wardrobe it will pair with. I also LOVE the RUBY in the same wrap skirt. I ordered all 3 colors in the skirt and just LOVE it! Va Va Va Voom! The ruby is great with my chili pepper border print top from last summer as well as my red WK turtleneck and just a standout on its own.

As a devoted Linea follower, I could not have been happier with how the day went. I thought Leah and MaryBeth looked fantastic in the jacket and I was THRILLED that we were able to start ordering the jackets before the day arrived. Lastly, and I get polled a lot as to my online usage of QVC.com – every time I get the poll on the website, I tell them that the one line bringing me back to QVC is Linea and that I’d be a lot happier with more inventory 😉 Big thanks to Jac for what she posted during the day yesterday on Facebook also which got copied and posted for the Linea Ladies! Hoping that the whole TSV experience this go-round exceeds both of your expectations as you so masterfully did for us with this marvelous jacket! You guys are truly a class act!!! Heartfelt thanks!

  7. Joan

Hi Louis, like everyone else, i thought you looked a little disappointed at your last showing of the TSV, the usual ‘spark” seemed to be missing. In any case, I wanted to get the truffle bodysuit as that color looks great with my auburn hair, but the sizing was weird XXS then up to S with no XS in between, Why would they skip that size? I am always an XS on top but did not want to chance the XXS small. They weren’t sold out in that size, just never there in the first place. Many of your models are XS so what do you think happened on this? Also wanted to say that it is so nice to see two very nice human beings such as you and Jac on TV. I volunteer in an animal shelter and believe me at the end of the day you wonder if any nice human beings are left at all.

    1. Debbie Macy

Bless you Joan! I could not handle the things you must see.

      1. Joan

yes, it can be very, very hard indeed. But I get a lot of extra lovin’ from all those cats and dogs so it does have its perks.

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Joan…..I think we, or at least most of us would agree, animals are much better beings than humans. I will look into the xs situation. I know they were ordered, but there were not large quantities of the body suit to begin with and it is quite possible, since the bodysuit was up for pre-selling that they were sold out. Many have already received them. The models were all wearing XXS, not XS. If you are a true XS…..you will easily fit in an xxs. This fabric has a LOT of stretch. If anyone who has received the bodysuit has anything to add tom help Joan….pleases, we want to hear from you.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

P.S……it wasn’t disappointment on my face…..I was really tired….I’m not used to pulling all nighters anymore….and being indoors, without ANY windows, all day can drain the life out of you.

      2. Joan

Thank you Louis, I will try for the XXS. I am not as svelte as the models but if it has a lot of stretch, it might work out. I’ll go for it.

  8. Kate

Since we won’t get an on air presentation and its too much work to watch videos and play I-Spy, could you ask Jac if she’d be willing to model your watches for a photo or two? It’s difficult to gauge scale with a human appendage!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I’ll see what I can do……she may charge me!

  9. Jazzy janet

Love the tsv. I got in navy with navy pants. Any way that you will be reordering the skirts in xs in ivory and navy? They were sold out. Got the jacket! Omg it is beautiful. The buttons , the back, the sleeves are fab. It feels great and I feel like a million bucks! Love love love your clothes. Thank you

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jazzy janet…..GREAT name…..it’s much too early to tell if anything will get reordered, but definitely go on wait list. There is always a certain percentage that gets returned for one reason or another, and you will probably get it.

  10. Quendiva

    Dear Louis,
Congratulations on your TSV and another great collection. Thanks for the post. I feel as if you have given us a “back stage pass” to come along with you, Jac and your lovely “girls” behind the scenes at QVC. Here’s hoping that 2013 will be the year of the long awaited Linea Live show!

  11. Sharon Santourian-Holman

Well I need to jump on the band wagon here!:). Louis, you outdid yourself with this collection. Usually, it’s the Fall Collections that I splurge on, but this?! LOL, I’m still waiting for the drape neck tunics, WK elbow sweaters. But the abstract skirt set in cobalt and the ruby bodysuit and skirt!!! I look really great in these!! This is MY red, it’s amazing. I’m going over my budget right now to see if I can order more ….when I tried them on, it just transformed me and I smiled. I feel confident and look pretty. Thank you, hugs.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sharon…..even before this day gets started….6:45am here…..I know that’s the best compliment I will get ALL day……”transformed”, I certainly wouldn’t mind a little transformation myself!LOL Please don’t forget to post your reviews!

  12. Qulia

Congratulations to you and Jac on your TSV! Everything looked fabulous. Leah looked amazing and the hour just flew by. The models clearly love wearing your clothes; their smiles tell it all. My goodies are starting to roll in and it all looks so fresh. Can’t wait to get the skirts, the pants, and the jewelry!

  13. Jane

    Hi Louis,

What a lovely posting! Thanks again for explaining everything that went on yesterday.

My TSV blazers arrived today along with the matching sweaters — and in a carton with no wrinkles! The blazers fit beautifully, love the fabric and the colors (iris and sea green). I’m glad I saw your note about the sizing of the sweater and I did keep to my normal Linea size (I usually size down on WKs) and the fit is perfect. My wave (windchime) necklace shipped today but the jewelry always takes longer to receive since it comes from a different warehouse. Now just waiting for the pants to ship and am hoping they fit like the fly-front slim leg pants which I love.

All the reviews on the forums are great so far and I have added my comments there as well as my 5 star reviews on the product pages.

    You are a gem!

    Jane

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jane….I am spinning with all the unexpected great reviews that are starting to come in. I couldn’t be happier that you are so pleased. With each good review the weight on my shoulders gets a little lighter. Thanks for letting me know

  14. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sheesh, yes there will be a presentation of the dress. Right now it is scheduled for Pm style on Jan. 18th , but that can change. The whole story is this…..originally it was supposed to be on PM Style last night, but when it became a clearance show, they decided to pull,it off the show. Maybe that where the confusion came when some thought I would be on PM Style?? All said it will get presented and it is a fabulous dress with a GREAT fit. I’m actually surprised they have it on the site already. It’s probably an over site since it was supposed to be on PM Style…..but wasn’t. I would think no one thought to inform the department responsible for posting the pictures…..just a guess.

    1. Kate

Mine arrived today (“Putty”–way outside my comfort zone but I trust you) and as I said on the Q forum, it looks and fits like something Dolce and Gabbana would have made. Even though it’s a print, it actually reads as texture more than print, if you know what I mean. The neckline is so flattering and I would not dream of adding a necklace (earrings though, you bet!).

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

So glad you gave it a try…technically it’s not a print….it’s a jacquard knitted pattern. The fit on this dress is great……I have been pushing to make dresses les baggy….it’s only taken 13 years LOL. Glad you noticed the difference.. This is now my template of how I want my fitted dresses to fit. The sequin dress was very similar.

        1. Cathy in PA

          Dear Louis,

Do you know how the plus size fit model felt about this new Jacquard dress, by chance? I just love the look of it, but it may not be for me, although the animal print one sure surprised me! I wore it in gray yesterday again, with your black wool boucle jacket, black tights, black patent croco maryjanes. At the end of a very long day of car rides, some outside walking in snow and a long inside visit with cousins, I arrived back home still warm, cozy and wrinkle free … can’t beat that!

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cathy, I really have no idea what she thought. I am not usually there when the fitting models are there. I see the clothes on the fitting forms. There is no set schedule when they are there. They are booked when they are needed. All I can say is it is a great dress and since they are fit on a 1x model it should be a good fit….it’s more a matter of whether you like the pattern and colors.

            1. Cathy in PA

Well, even though it’s called something you and I don’t like to mention, I LOVE the pattern and colors! I look forward to seeing this one modeled; hope Maria is wearing it 🙂 The other one I hope is shown again is the new solid V Neck Invert Pleat with the matching jacket; I missed the recent presentation, there are NO videos ???, and while there is one where Kate is wearing the outfit to show shoes, it’s brief and the focus is on the shoes, of course … sigh. I may just take a chance on all three of the above, although with the stack of boxes piling up in my living room, I might have to let Walter buy another car AND bake him a cake LOL.

            2. Louis Dell'Olio

It will be on Jacqui as it will be on a PM Style and Maria doesn’t do PM Style. They are both size large.

    2. Carol

The printed schedule that arrives in our orders listed the PM Style with Lisa Robinson show with Linea by Louis Dell’Olio. Hence our expectation that you would be on that show. Call us crazy! LOL

      crdlb

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Originally I was scheduled to be on PM Style with the new dress, but then canceled the appearance due to the fact the the show was completely clearance.

        1. Cathy in PA

Even though I long to see that dress, I admit this is one time I agree with Q; it didn’t belong in with a show of clearance … and I suspect if that dress was shown on a model, no one would have bought CLEARANCE items LOL.

  15. Waterbaby

    Welcome back, Louis and Jac!
I am awaiting my order of two TSV jackets, 3 WK tops, TSv pants in ivory with a WL for the black, pink WK bow sweater, Kate blouse in Sea Green. Fingers crossed all will fit well. There were no medium pants so I went to the large so I will see how that works out. I read that you will be back for two hours on February 7 and I can’t wait for sneek peaks!

Since green is so big this year, I was hoping that the QVC buyers will order your green pearls. Any chance of that?

Give the “girls” hugs from me, we had Westies for years. Blessings, Fran

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Hi Fran,
We had Westies too. Maggie (Margret Elizabeth), was the apple of my eye. The green wasn’t reordered, but hopefully there will be new beautiful colors.

  16. DeLois

Received my two TSV Jackets today (and I might add another I ordered later yet to arrive)……. I just love the fit of this jacket and the buttons, everything……… have not received my tops or my skirt………. the presentations were just great and I lost a lot of sleep but not nearly as much as you did………Friday night I am going to wear the brown dress shown recently with the tortoise pattern jacket and going through my costume jewelry found a beloved necklace of blackened metal with darker copper color balls on chains and a knockout with this combination dress and jacket…… Can’t wait to wear it……. Thanks Louis for your wonderful designs…….

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

DeLois…..you made my night…the first review and a 5 star one if I have ever head one. I design them, I labor over them, and then I hope for the best. I can only hope, your great comments are the first of many! Thanks for letting me know. Please, let everyone on the forum know how you liked the jacket….it will calm everyone’s nerves! LOL Your necklace sounds perfect….Copper is my new favorite metal color. I love it mixed with gun metal too.

      1. Pamela in Anchorage

Yes, yes, Louis – Please give us some fresh, modern designs in Copper that I might add to my treasured vintage ‘Bell'(and others notables) Copper collection. Love mixing ‘The Old with The New’ – Besides, Mother Nature provides Copper in ALL turquoise deposites found in many places around the World – Copper is quite Medicinal (great healing properties)! I’ve mixed metals for years, whether it was vogue or not – just call me strange…..?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

          Strange……never…..clever and creative…..definitely!

      2. DeLois

Yes I also wrote the first review under the item on QVC…… answered some questions others were having about fit, and I hope that helped them. They missed out on a great price……. my daughter ordered a jacket also, but hers has not arrived…… I think she will love t…..

  17. Debbie Macy

Sounds Like an exciting day for you! I am glad it was successful. I received a big Linea delivery today. I received all 6 wk sweaters, some of my jackets, 2 body suits and dance skirts! All winners and keepers. My bib necklace and earrings are coming tomorrow because I “need” them for my cruise. You made a body suit believer out of me. Thank YOU for such lovely designs. My suitcase is packed with 99% Linea clothes and 100% Linea jewelry. I will see the rest of my haul when I return. No sneak peeks while I am gone, I don’t want to miss anything.

    Love Debbie

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Holy Moly Debbie….that was fast! Whew!!! I am so happy you love everything….that’s a load off my mind. Now I know if you liked what you received……. there is a good chance others will like them too. Where are cruising to?

      1. Debbie Macy

Cruising to St. Thomas and San Juan. I hope my weather will be as lovely as yours was. Reviews on Linea forum are looking good.

  18. Chris/Jazzmom

It makes good business sense that if an item was NOT selling well, it would need more ‘face time’. I am glad that the TSV did so well for everyone’s expectations.

  19. Sheesh

Thank you, dear Louis, for explaining the events of Monday. We were all a bit worried especially when we saw the last camera shot of your face…we know you well now over all these years and we were concerned you didn’t look particularly happy, n fact you looked quire chagrined—so of course we ran with with speculation. So glad all is well. Now, will that new dress ever get a presentation? I was dying to see that on the body. We all agreed that Leah was the bomb—never EVER saw her look so good. And Marybeth did you well—she is a lovely lady. So, “all’s well that ends well” as Shakespeare said. Looking forward to the next show as always…

    Love, Sheesh
