“FEBRUARY SNEAK PEEK # 7 & # 8”

February Sneak Peek # 7 & # 8, is the DENIM JEAN JACKET and the DENIM PENCIL SKIRT………. A232350 is the Denim Jean Jacket. The denim fabric is exactly like the denim fabric I used last summer for the jacket with the peplum back and the jean pant. It is 72% cotton/26% Polyester/2% Spandex. There are many details on this jacket and so many aspects that SEPARATE this JEAN JACKET from all others. First……The material…. is LIGHT WEIGHT and COOL. So many jean jackets are in a very heavy gauge denim that they can not be worn past the spring……this jacket can be worn all year….even in August….if a jacket is needed. Second THE FIT……. I call this the “COUTURE JEAN JACKET”, because it isn’t a BOX. It has CORSET SEAMING, which gives it a very FEMALE and SEXY shape……….so even when it is left open……you still have the illusion of SHAPE…….it’s all in the placement and shape of the seams. Like all TRUE jean jackets , this one is short…….approx. 22 1/2 inches, which is exactly the way it should be to give it a youthful, edgy look. DO NOT BE AFRAID to wear your WK sweaters longer than the jacket…..it is not only acceptable but is very much today’s fashion……..it will also elongate the look. The jacket is UNLINED, so it is definitely a 12 month jacket……layer in the winter……a tank. maxi dress etc etc. in the summer. This jacket has……..12 SIGNATURE GOLD BUTTONS!…..and an extra inside. The pockets on the chest are faux….flaps and buttons only. There is a placket front with 6 signature buttons. There is a 2 inch band cuff with a single button and the back has tabs…..each with a working button. There is a front and back yoke with gold rivets in each corner. The jacket is almost completely double top stitched in matching thread. Of course the jacket is machine washable for easy care………..The colors……………………INDIGO…………………WHITE…………………SUNSHINE YELLOW…………………..I know the next question will be……. “will they match last years indigo and white?”. The same color standards were used, however this is a new year, and the dye stuffs and chemicals have to be reformulated, and after dying the cloth has to be washed……so the answer is we tried to come as close as humanly possible, but with all washed fabrics….there will be slight variations. I think they did a fantastic job. The white jean jacket in the photo above is shown with last year’s white denim pant…..it looked great to me. I don’t think I can offer you anything more CASUAL than this jacket. It is definitely a comfortable GO TO PIECE……………The under clothes shown in the photos are the white “Kate” cotton/span shirt and the NEW WHISPER KNITS…..that will be sold on line only later in the season………..I WILL BE SNEAK PEEKING MOST OF THEM ON BOTH THE 2PM  & THE 6PM SHOWS!!!

A232360, is the DENIM PENCIL SKIRT. It is made in the same fabric as the jacket, and will be avail. in the same three colors……………INDIGO…………WHITE………..SUNBURST YELLOW………..I love that Sunburst Yellow! It is a happy summer color!! The skirt is UNLINED in all colors. The jean pant last year was also unlined in ALL colors and that obviously was not a problem, as there isn’t a single one left…. last time I looked. These are the COOLEST summer skirts you could possibly wear!. They have a back zip and a dyed to match button at the 1 inch waist band. There are side back elastic gores for comfort, and the front and the rest of the back is completely flat. There is also a back vent, which will come to you basted closed, please do not forget to clip the thread! The skirt is approx 22 1/2 inches long with a 1 1/2 inch hem. These too, will be your go to summer skirts, and it would not be a bad idea to think about getting two in the white, so you will always have a clean one on hand. There are so many things that these skirts will go with in your existing wardrobes, and things I still have coming, that these skirts can be put into the “ESSENTIAL” column…………..This is a terrific casual skirt……much cooler than pants in the heat and humidity of the summer…….and it is absolutely appropriate to wear in the work place………….Many of you have requested this skirt ever since I first showed the denim peplum jacket…..well it took a year, but here it is…….Enjoy, much Love………..Louis

Louis, love your line! Was fortunate enough to purchase your denim skirt & matching jackets in white & indigo! Have the skirt in the beautiful yellow too. Have been on WAITLIST for XL yellow jacket since it aired. Now I notice only 2X & I believe 3X are listed for WAITLIST! Did the yellow jacket not get reordered in XL? Was just speaking with someone @ Corporate this AM & mentioned that more of your items should be ordered as everything sells out so quickly! I even called the Studio Store to inquire if they had any as I am so closeby. Of course, they didn’t!
Will have to keep my fingers crossed that an XL yellow jacket will show up @ my door!
Thank you for bringing us your beautiful line!

Dear Rosemary…….the jacket was initially ordered in the XL, but they sold out. There are no reorders on this and that decision won’t be made for months. At this point what ever shows up are returns.

Oh Louis, I am such a fan! I have so many of your jackets. I simply must have that fish necklace in Silvertone. Please, Please.

    Much Love

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I would love to offer it in silver, but the buyer only wanted gold…?.it it sells out quickly I will suggest doing silver too.

Louis, I have to say you’ve done a very nice job with this jean jacket that’s more in line with my preference for classic styling. I know I shouldn’t be surprised. That’s why we adore your designs!

My problem is I’m conflicted over the yellow. There’s no doubt it’s a fabulously beautiful color, but with my English Rose skin tones, I’m hestitating. Maybe I should stick with the white? Can I only wear yellow with a tan? I’ve read a few articles on “who can wear yellow?” Do you have any thoughts on who can wear yellow? Your insights are always greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jean……yellow is definitely a challenging color for some women, but remember this is a jacket….so you have the opportunity to wear any color under it that would work with the jacket and your particular coloring…..as you can see in the photos above I will have the Whisper Knit sweaters in a range of colors, so the yellow won’t be up against your face. Also…..MAKEUP…..can do wonderful things to change the way certain colors will look on you….a bronzer or a blush……and a lip color can make a big difference. Layering colors can help also……I.E the sleeveless mock neck in the Aqua, Flamingo or Tangerine with the white cotton shirt over that [no bulk because of the sleeveless], and then the yellow jacket……..if you still are not 100% sure…..go with the white……put any color under it, and you can’t loose…..I know the yellow is very tempting…..maybe the white jacket and the yellow skirt????

      1. Jean

Thank you for all the good ideas. I’m really loving the yellow jacket with the crisp white Kate shirt and indigo skirt. I have nothing like the jacket or skirt. Maybe I can add a small scarf wrapped close around my neck inside the white shirt collar if I feel I need it to offset the yellow. And I’m thinking that with repeated washings, the brightness of the yellow will fade a little.

Guess you can tell I really want that jacket.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

The scarf is a great idea……don’t count on it fading too much!

Well Louis, QVC can just package up EVERYTHING in this picture and send it to me, lol! I have last year’s denim pieces in black, but I wasn’t fast enough to get the indigo. And a lined white jacket is just too hot during the summer months here. So I’m thrilled with these unlined jean jackets and so happy that you’re providing for us Linea ladies with a more casual lifestyle. Now for my question: How long is the back vent in the skirt?(xs) I’m 5’2″ with short legs. A short pencil skirt works much better for me. I need to be able to either shorten the skirt enough to remove the vent entirely, or only go high enough that there is a reasonable amount of vent left. You’ve given us the length of the skirt, so if I know the height of the vent, I’ll be able to decide if I can make the skirt work. In any case, everything else on this page is mine!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Yvette,
Th vent is 4 inches. I hope this works for you.

  5. Waterbaby

    Louis,
I just love the sneak peeks! Great skirt and jacket, and I love the colors. I do have a question about the station cross necklace you style with. I know it was QVC.com on wait list and now it is gone. I have wanted this since I saw it just a month or so ago, I collect crosses and this so appeals to me. Did QVC reorder this in the gold? Many thanks, as always, for providing such wonderful pics, ideas for styling and great clothes.

    Best regards, Fran

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I have no idea if they reordered it or have plans to reorder it. It seems for the most part the jewelry is a one shot deal…….though they did reorder the Byzantine cross and the companion station bead necklace…..you never know….I will make an inquiry with the jewelry rep.

    Dear Louis,

LOVE Everything here; these denim pieces are a dream! Navy in both pieces for sure; white jacket and maybe skirt … but that Yellow is singing a siren song to me, and I don’t look good in the sunshine/daffodil yellows … buttercream or light lemon yellows I can wear, so may have to leave that one for others; it’s gorgeous! Looking forward to “seeing” you and Jac on Thursday 🙂 Cathy in PA

  7. Barbara in Virginia

Hi, Louis! Which picture most accurately represents the Daffodil Yellow? I love yellows but find them hard to wear unless the are in the direction of a lemon yellow. Thanks!

    1. Barbara in Virginia

Whoops! That would be Sunburst Yellow!

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

I guess the sleeve…..but it is more daffodil…..if you mean by lemon…. a pale yellow ….it is not.

      1. Barbara in Virginia

The sleeve on the lower left? No, I need a more saturated yellow which is more lemon. Can’t do golden tones. This looks like it just might work!

    3. Louis Dell'Olio

This is not a golden tone with orange in it. It is a real citrus yellow.

      1. Barbara in Virginia

        Grrrreat!!! Thanks!

  8. Goldie76

I want a blue denim jacket with YOUR signature buttons. This topper is an answer to a yearning. Thanks, Louis.

  9. enjay

Holy cow, Louis! I’m getting one of everything this time around! (And I want them bad!)

  10. Ann/snickster

These are fabulous, order normal QVC Linea size on this skirt and jacket? How do you just keep getting better and better, you are a marvel. Thanks Louis, wish I had discovered your line years ago. I want everything, but since I am no longer working I have to narrow down what I reasonably will have use for, but oh my that is tough to do, it is all so beautiful. One question, back to the long jackets, will you be coming out with a matching shorter skirt? I would love one in the same fabric, the long jacket/short (knee grazing) skirt is a look I have always loved, and look good in. Thanks again.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Ann….order your normal size….no plans for a matching crepe skirt as of now.

      1. Ann/snickster

Ok, thanks for your quick response. I do plan to order the jacket and pants as the length of the pants works for me. Is there another skirt that you think would be a close fabric match in your line, that I could alter to suit me? Thanks again.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

There really isn’t anything in inventory or that is coming. “They” never buy both a skirt and pant…….I guess it’s budget for each group.

  11. Chris/Jazzmom

Is the skirt going to be in numerical sizing or lettered sizing?
Love that yellow jacket– so fresh looking!

  12. nikki

I love this, I cannot wait to order it. Now the dilemma, should I wake up at 12 to order it in hopes that QVC does not put it in backorder or wait till later in the day ( taking a chance as I think I will sell out quickly). LOve the spring collection.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

That’s a tough one…..all I will say is the quantities ARE NOT HUGE.How bad do you want it??

  13. Asymmetrical Dress

Another winner for me! Would the yellow skirt work with the yellow Hydrangea jacket?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The jacket is much paler…more of a butter. This is stronger….more of a daffodil. It’s always hard to match ground colors….better of with a contrast…

  14. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy…..the earrings, pendant and fish bone bracelet are all due sometime in March……..and I say that loosely, because I never know exactly when….but definitely, God willing, March……..get the fishing rod and bait ready!

    1. blinddogs

OH and a bracelet, too! We put out crabpots down my way– not into fishing so much. HMM– maybe you can do some jewelry with a crab motif, too? LOL! thanks so much– you know all those fishies will be swimming into my jewelry case come March, or whenever!

  15. blinddogs

Louis, are you teasing us with that fish/fish neckace and the promised earrings again? When will they finally be available to order???
