“THE BLACK SPLIT COLLAR SWEATER”

……………….Black……………..How many black sweaters can one person own?!………….For me it’s an infinite number……You can never have enough black sweaters in different styles, and you are always on the search for a new unique one….It’s something you just can’t help…….I think this sweater is just that. Sweaters with interesting collars are not that commonplace. I think you will find this collar to work with so much of what you own…..I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…..BLACK with BISQUE is incredibly CHIC…..It hearkens back to the 20’s and 30″s…..to the Art Deco era….to the Golden Age of Holiday when actresses wore bias cut gowns in this lingerie color, and Bisque cashmere wrap coats over all black were very movie star……….Black with Bisque almost rivals Black and Ivory or White…..almost…..If you want to look absolutely drop dead, and I mean that in the best way, wear the Black split neck sweater with the IVORY BIG DEAL TOPPER and the slim faux black suede pant [coming back in Dec.]…..Really can you look any better, or more glamorous …..This is called “dress to impress” I have used TWO of the Twisted Gold Bugle beaded necklaces for a BOLD GOLD look………If you want a fun way, a different way to dress up for the Holidays….the Black sweater and one of the 4 embroidered skirts. In case your wondering what is the 4th emb. skirt…..I’m counting the shorter Wild Flower multi color tulle skirt. Add some suede boots and a fun jacket or cardigan…This sweater with the silver emb. skirt, and the silver TWISTED SISTER NECKLACE is just gorgeous….and so EASY!…..There is something so irreverent about putting this sporty sweater with SEQUIN PANTS, but that’s what gives it an edgy look, and makes it fabulous!!! It takes a certain woman with tons of confidence to pair these two pieces together…I can tell you with certainty….that you will be the most MODERN woman in the room…….I certainly don’t have to tell you how, what, where or when to wear this sweater…………………..wear it with everything, anytime, anywhere!!!…………..enjoy………..much Love……….Louis

I am going to wear this sweater with my sequin pants. Great idea! I usually wear my Linea crop twin set or Linea tuxedo jacket. This sweater will be a nice change.
On another front – what necklace did you put on the black sweater. Is is new or Linea vintage?

Joanne….I used two of the black twisted bugle bead necklaces, J393306. I used two because I really wanted it to be dense, and I love the shiny black bugle beads with the black sweater and the black sequins.

Karen, could you post that cookie recipe here, they sound so good. Thanks

Yes, I did play dress up and always loved wearing dresses and tights….some things never change! I really need to get the summer clothes out of my closet so I can see better of what I have for cold weather clothing. I have added SO many things these past 7 years since finding you!

I will dig out her recipe and forward it to you…I’m sure it’s with all my other paper recipes. I really need to get better organized there too! It’s such a wonderful cookie this time of year and I think of you two when I make them! Love and hugs!

Louis, I love this simple sweater with a twist! It looks so good under everything, yet definitely stands on its own. I am thinking of the black and maybe caramel. Thank you so much for the lovely videos on all your new things. I especially like how you show us the many different ways we can wear everything. I’m not the best at playing, but when I see you do it, it gives me a lot of inspiration!

Today is such a beautiful, lovely fall day! I just got back from getting a boat load of groceries as my Cody is coming in from Nebraska tonight to stay for fall break! He can eat and the younger boys get reminded that if they don’t come to the table when called, they might not get seconds! My husband eats quite fast and he always said it was because he had to compete with his other three brothers for seconds.

I am wearing your beautiful flutter sleeve naive print blouse in the sapphire with the matching jewelry and black ankle pants. Trying to squeeze in a few more warm weather outfits before I get to dive into all my new beautiful fall things! I hope you are having a lovely day. I’m off to start cooking and baking. Jac’s spice cookies are on my list to be made in the next week or two. A wonderful companion to chai tea latte. Love and hugs to you!

Karen, didn’t you play dress up as a little girl? LOL….I always say put the pieces you want to play with on the bed and just start pulling clothes to see what you like together. I can’t find Jac’s receipt for the spice cookies…..I sure do miss them especially this time of year. Can you send it to me.

Can the split neck sweater be worn with the split neck in the back for a more relaxed front ,like a modified turtleneck? Thanks for your new fashions, even bought another
sweater for a 20 yr. old collegiate granddaughter who just loves it

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Debby….I’m really not sure….Off the top of my head I’d say no. The back neckline is always higher than the front so it may ride too high on the throat giving a choking feeling. Also the armhole shapes are fully fashioned so they are a different shape from back to front……Of course when you try it on everything I said may not be so.

I’m wearing the black split neck turtleneck with the black sequin pants for a dressy date night with my husband. We started doing a dressy date night night once a month and we both love getting out of our quarantine clothes.

Louis, I love wearing Black – my closet is a sea of Black….so yes – an infinite number is good!
    Love Black with Bisque!
