“THE OCTOBER 2012 WHISPER KNIT ESSENTIALS”

…………………………With the popularity of Whisper Knit sweaters we finally did a separate group of WK sweaters that would be sold “on line only” as part of the “ESSENTIALS GROUP”. Of course whenever I could I would incorporate them into my shows…..There were EIGHT STYLES………..a classic button front cardigan…….a V-neck tank………….a V-neck short sleeve………..a sleeveless mock neck…..a scoop neck  with short sleeves….a moderate scoop neck with long sleeves, a kimono cardigan and a pencil short skirt. Other styles like the classic TN were already part of the reorder list…Not all styles were offered in all colors, but we tried to balance them out so there would be variety. The colors were ………BLACK…….IVORY……NAVY…….WALNUT…..DEEP TEAL…….VIOLET……..and FUCHSIA…………..they coordinated with all of the FALL clothes from each month.

No one would be crazy enough to get rid of ANY of these unless their weight changed so dramatically that they simply couldn’t wear something anymore. I would be embarrassed to tell you the number of WKs that are in my wardrobe. OK; that’s not true. It wouldn’t embarrass me at ALL.

April, I wouldn’t be embarrassed at all to tell you how many LaCoste shirts I have!!!!I have two closets filled with them and they are all the same shirt! I must have at least 10 in white and black alone, and then an assortment of colors. I even have them hung by color groups! At least the WK are all different styles!….LOL Shall we discuss cotton TN and tee shirts!!!!!!

Hung by color groups? We could have been separated at birth!

Elegant. Testament to how popular these were/are: they hardly ever show up on eBay. Scored a new Navy Cardigan this year but typically the Linea Ladies who have these are NOT letting go.

Absolutely. I remember a WK avalanche of so many
gorgeous colors and styles I had almost talked myself into getting them all !!! I just could not decide. I think that collection is right around the corner. Can’t wait to see it again in it’s entirety!!!

    Basic…
    but Beautiful!

Cela, the Essentials were always on the basic side. They were meant mostly as layering pieces and wardrobe builders. I think the problem was what to eliminate!
