“FEATHER JERSEY #1”

Today, I am introducing to you a new group of clothes that will be sold ON LINE ONLY. The fabric is called……………”FEATHER JERSEY”……………..Why Feather Jersey?………A little history………..Last summer, on a Saturday morning show with Leah Williams, I showed a brand new dress, A222262. It was a MAXI DRESS in a floral print. It came in three color combinations, violet/ivory, chartreuse/ivory and black/ivory. It sold out in THREE MINUTES, but besides selling out so quickly…..what was incredible was the wait list orders…….they were huge, and for a dress! The buyers asked my manufacturer [which is extremely rare], if it was at all possible to remake this dress for later in the summer. The factories are on strict monthly schedules, and were steeped in fall production. For them to stop their production to squeeze in another garment is a BIG DEAL, because everything gets pushed back. However, the fabric mill and the apparel factory where the dress was made, said they would do it. The dresses were shipped and as of today, once again, it is almost sold out [one or two sizes avail.]. I also had many requests to do this NEW FABRIC in solid colors. The women who owned the dress couldn’t believe how FLOWING, COOL, COMFORTABLE and FLATTERING this fabric was to wear, and this was coming from women located in the HOTTEST parts of the country………………………so “we” sat down at a meeting and thought, with the success of the dress and the requests for this fabric in solid colors, it would make a great group of solid separates for OLO selling…..I was very excited about the possibilities!…………….That is the history and the why FEATHER JERSEY came to be. It came from the incredible reception the dress received and the many requests to bring this fabric back………………………………The fabric itself is a 96% polyester and 4% spandex blend. It is very light in weight and the surface has a very fine slub or variegation to the yarn, giving the effect of a fine Linen/Silk look and FEEL………it is unlike ALL other poly/span jerseys out there………All of the Feather Jersey pieces can take on multiple roles…………….they can be super casual……..used for beach cover ups…..or worn sightseeing……..or just running round town….or just relaxing. They can also, with a change of accessories, be worn for more dressed up outings……a dinner out with friends, an engagement party or even a dressier occasion like a wedding. The feather jersey pieces are a wardrobe unto themselves. With the addition of a MAXI skirt, A233970 regular length and A233971, petite length, a SHORT PULL-ON SKIRT and a pair of PULL-ON pants, you can make multiple outfits……….This concept of taking one fabric and making a wardrobe of styles to mix and match is a very modern and easy way to dress……..needless to say, this group is perfect for the travelers amongst you…………..you really only need a carry on………….

The first style is…………A233965………….the HOODED TUNIC………….. Casual is the THEME of the Feather Jersey group……….mixed with a little DRAMA, and this HOODED TUNIC is the best example. The fabric drapes and moves with the motion of the body. It is sensuous to the touch which adds to the pleasure of wearing the garment. After a day on the beach, and after a wonderful shower….this would be the ideal piece to slip into………great for a sunset walk on the beach…………….Wear it with my new Feather Jersey pant or pull-on short skirt……or for that walk on the beach….  my cotton/span legging . Of course you can and should mix it with the many things you already own. In the photos above the ORCHID tunic is shown with the SMOKE FJ pull-on pant, and the NECTAR tunic is paired with my WHITE DENIM PENCIL SKIRT………..Belt it or not…..accessorize it or not…..it works for what ever need arises…………………if you try one………I know you will be back for more………..scroll down for more pics of the HOODED TUNIC………………….enjoy…………….much Love …………..Louis

HI LOUIS, You mentioned there are pants in FJ (not #A233191) and a short skirt. If the item numbers are not available at this time can we know the colors for the pants and short skirt? Would love to order knit top with pocket detail A 233966 now but would like to know what items match in color or to coordinate. This type of easy dressing never looks good until they are shown on live bodies. I sure hope on line selling works. Hopefully a few quick airings and some pics on your website and the forum will resolve the “doubters”.

Dear Happy Lady…………..I know buying OLO is a bit of a “leap of faith”, but if you know and love the fabric, you are half way there. Most of the styles, I would recommend buying your normal size. ALWAYS check the shoulder with and bust and hip measurement on straighter garments, like the tunic with the pockets. Styles with flair such as the hooded tunic, the shoulder and bust measurement is all you would need to be concerned with. With these pants, it is only the waist you need to check…..with the flat pleats there is plenty of hip room. The pant # is A233967 for reg length, and A233968 for petite length. The colors for the pant are…….NAVY……..HEMP………SMOKE…….AQUA……ORCHID……..The short skirt is A233969 and the colors are …..SEAFOAM…….OLIVE……FLAMINGO…..HEMP…………………….The maxi skirt is A233970 for the reg. length and A233971 for the petite length…….the color are……. ORCHID……..SMOKE……………NAVY…….OLIVE…………..Remember the Smoke, Navy, Hemp and Olive are NEUTRAL COLORS and work well as BOTTOM colors for MIXING colors…..i.e. orchid top, smoke or navy bottom. Nectar top….hemp, olive, navy or smoke bottom…..they really all mix well.

Which colors does the flamingo short skirt coordinate with. I love the way you mix colors.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Anonymous……the safest colors to wear on top would naturally be the navy, hemp, olive and smoke……and white [not avail. in the FJ], but for summer I do like mixing the colors like nectar and aqua with the Flamingo. It may seem strange at first, but when you pull it together with the right accessories it can look very refreshing and summery. When in doubt…..a metallic sandal and accessories in the two colors or even more colors…..sort of a “TUTTI FRUTTI” look……..with the smoke, and navy silver and or gunmetal accessories…..with the hemp and olive…..gold. or brass.

        Hi, Louis!
You mention the new FJ pant will come in petite. Do you know the length? I bought the other FJ pant and it was large on me and very long so I am hoping the small petite will be just right. I love the colors of your new FJ group. These tanks, tops and pants will see me through some very hot and humid times this summer. Many thanks and looking forward to your show.

        Blessings, Fran

Dear Waterbaby……..I’m getting that info for you.

    Louis,

I was one of the ladies raving about the maxi dress and bought all three colors. Love the fabric and I can’t wait to dive into this collection. YUM!

I agree with Pamela about the nectar and wearing my fish earrings with it!

Not to be a rude pain-in-the-you-know-what, BUT, it would really help me plan my purchases if I could make a matrix of the items and colors like I was able to do for the WK OLO. Right now, I like the seafoam color, the orchid, and the smoke–but don’t know if I can make mix n match wardrobe with the pieces.

So here’s the rude request: can we have a list of all the different pieces and the colors they will come in?

    Ducking now!

    Hi Louis:

You offer another terrific travel piece. I can see myself slipping into the Nectar & going ashore for brunch come sailing/fishing season! The hood is great & this Feather Jersey has a beautiful drape. Well done.

Since I love the maxi dress from last year, I know I’m going to love this collection. I do wish the Q would put “Feather Jersey” in their title description to make it easier to decipher the pieces in this group. (the way they did with whisper knit) I know it’s not under your control, but just a thought to maybe pass along. Off to order…
