“SPRING 1991 ANNE KLEIN LOOK BOOK”

Many times I am asked where does my inspiration come from? Any creative person will tell you inspiration can come from anything, anywhere, anytime. Sometimes we look back to see something in the future, and that is what I have done with the LOTUS PRINT. I thought you might like to see some of the pages from my Anne Klein 1991 Spring Look Book. These were books that we gave to our “A” stores, to be kept in the Anne Klein departments to help the sales people “know” the collection and to help the customers choose what they might like to purchase. It also gave the customers a chance to special order things the store may not have purchased. The clothes above are TWENTY TWO YEARS OLD and there is nothing there you couldn’t wear TODAY………tunics, lace, bold prints, bamboo and black. I hope you have enjoyed looking back in time…..you never know what you may see in the future…………………………………………………………….enjoy…………..much Love……………….. Louis

Oh Louis! You are so right – I would proudly wear every one of these “looks” today and feel right in style and yet classic and timeless. I so appreciate your designs – both when you were with AK and now at the Q. I turn to the things I have bought from the Linea line again and again. They are always right. Thank you so much – you are a treasure.

There is the sheath dress Kate and I have been begging for! I do have a black cocktail sheath and coat from AK more than 20 years oldhat I still wear (now that I’m down in size to an ‘old’ size 6 again). Your interpretations for Linea are coming home to me the minute that they are listed! What a fabulous spring summer collection you have designed for us!

Wow! I have just had a visual feast looking at all the new fashions coming up! I want one (at least) of everything! And the 1991 Anne Klein Look Book reveals how classic your fashions today are and have always been in my opinion. I’m a baby boomer who wants to look fashionable–not wear the latest “trend” but be in style for my age and my body style. Your designs are the only ones that fit my criteria. Looking forward to the coming shows and fashions for sure! Susan

Louis, Louis, the short black sheath and lace dresses are to die for! That black dress with the huge white collar!? That luscious beige and black print sweater!? Everything is absolutely timeless and perfect … you’re a genius.

These are exactly the type of clothes I need for my professional and personal life. Please, please – can you bring these silhouettes to the Q?! Or to anywhere, again? Sheer perfection. And I want them all!

And I agree with designista – the length and proportion of these dresses is just so stinkin’ chic!

I could not agree with you and designista more about the length…..Jac AGREES with you too…………..but if I did anything that short….I would start a WAR……and QVC would never allow it anyway. It always bothers me when the hosts talk about women’s “flaws”. That they have to hide this or cover that…What’s with that? What about the many women who have great arms….great legs……and flat tummies…………….my mother was 96 when she passed and had flawless legs!!!…and she knew it…..and she showed them……….she never wore a skirt below her knees….mid or just above…..and she never worried about sitting down, because she knew how to…………..what can I say….it’s spittin in the wind!

Thank you! I am so tired of hearing about clothes that hide sins, cover lumps and bump, etc. I work out, eat right, and have never strayed from size 8 in 40 years. And, I know I’m not alone.

Also, I think I am solely responsible for my tailor’s new beach house due to having nearly every piece of Linea altered. I shorten almost everything, have the waists taken in, and sleeves slimmed down. To me this is to be expected from mass-market clothes sold at a certain price-point and I’ve had these same tweaks done to garments that cost in the thousands.

I don’t get why QVC customers are so loathe to spend a bit to have thing altered for perfection.

Wow Louis! When you put it like that – amazing – you are a genius of design and I am in so much trouble! This pink and bamboo jacket and this printed blouse and camisole are mine and my credit card is in serious need of reprieve! I just can’t wait for your show, in fact I am booking the day off. I am up in north west coast of BC and ship to my daughters in California – I have to take a trip down to pick up my clothes:) Oh the lengths one goes to to receive these devine designs!

At least it gives you a good reason to visit your daughter…LOL

That black sheath dress and coat are my dream clothes. Unreal. And those lace mini-dresses? TDF. The fact that you can translate these garments to the QVC mass market is a testament to your talent. WOW, is right.

I wish I could do the jewelry again! I recently saw the choker necklace on the Bay. The gold necklace with the lucite drop beads which have a gold bead encased inside! I did earrings a charm bracelet and different necklaces using these beads…..I think It went for $400 and it’s worth every penny. NO ONE can make these again. The pearl and jet pieces were incredible……..AAAAAAAAAHH for the good old days when everything was possible.

I love the shape of the jacket in the upper left corner. The short, rounded front. Very chic. As for the jewelry, well, you will now have me (and others) stalking ebay!

WOW!!! You are a visionary! You can’t find women’s fashions like that anymore in the stores. I’ll take one each of those black A-line numbers; the sleeveless and the short sleeve lace. The short length on the skirts is so much more attractive than what the Q allows you to offer.
