“THE SUIT & THE LOTUS PRINT”

In the photos above I will be featuring FOUR NEW ITEMS……..The JACKET, A233851, and PANT, A233852 reg./A233853 petite……and ………..The LOTUS PRINT CARDIGAN, A233854, and TANK, A233855.

The JACKET is made in a brand NEW FABRIC. In the photo at the lower right you can see the texture and weave. The “LOOK” is a hop sack linen, thought it is actually 100% polyester. The look and FEEL is linen, faux yes, but definitely LINEN. The BAMBOO color and the texture of the fabric reminds me of a PANAMA HAT. This is a more substantial fabric than the faux linen Herringbone from last season. The contrast jacket trims are in the same fabric…..always BLACK. There are four patch pockets that are buttoned with REAL SHELL BUTTONS. I emphasize REAL SHELL because that is practically unheard of on any apparel at QVC, or for that matter in the department stores………unless it’s DESIGNER…..They are expensive and getting more and more so. The jacket has snap out shoulder pads. The jacket is also UNLINED…..so it will be comfortable for a longer period of time. It is approx. 25 inches long for the XS. The sleeves are 3/4 length and finished with the same contrast banding. I think the BAMBOO/BLACK jacket works best with a black tank and a black bottom or the matching BAMBOO or BLACK pant…..It also looks terrific with the LOTUS PRINT tank or CARDIGAN wrapped and tied as the large picture shows…………………..the total look is Classic and CLASSY……..timeless and ELEGANT. You might also want to try one of your new WHISPER KNIT sweaters under the Bamboo and Black…..the Aqua, Nectarine and Hot Pink would all look marvelous………….. These clothes have NOTHING to do with trends that are here today and tomorrow’s old news. These are clothes that you will wear today and TWENTY TWO years from today.

The PANT will be avail. in two lengths. A233852 is the style number for the regular length and A233853 is the petite length. I do not know what the inseam measurement is for either one. The pant will be avail in ……BAMBOO ..&……….BLACK…………It is unlined for maximum coolness. These pants will be sold in NUMERICAL SIZES.  I would suggest staying with the numerical size that has worked best for you. The pant has a zip front with the same shell button. These classic pants have slant TROUSER POCKETS. For me, there is nothing more refined than seeing a woman in a great pair of LINEN TROUSERS…..even if they are faux………..Hepburn, Lombard, Dietrich, all come to mind.

The LOTUS CARDIGAN……you all have seen the inspiration for the print…..originally a silk georgette from one of the premiere print houses of Italy, reinterpreted in my faux de Chine…..the same fabric as my recent IKAT print top and skirt. The cardigan is completely banded in solid black. At it’s longest point it is approx. 30 inches long, and at the center back it measures approx. 25 1/5 inches long for the XS. I love the versatility of this piece. Wear it open and loose, tie it casually in the front….or….wear it as a wrap blouse tied in the back…..marvelous worn this way under suit jackets, such as my black SEAMED CREPE BLAZER, with the new Bamboo pant. If you are familiar with the fabric, you know how light and comfortable it is, certainly appropriate all summer long. If you are not familiar with the fabric, I would suggest you read the reviews of the IKAT print top. This is a unique print that is obviously EUROPEAN, and deserved to be brought back to live another day.

The LOTUS PRINT TANK. This is a beautiful separate piece that is completely finished off with contrast banding. It is approx. 24 1/2 inches long for the XSS, and it has small side slits. Wear it under ALL of your new Black pieces…….the  SEAMED CREPE BLAZER…the WK CARDIGAN or KIMONO….the new longer GAUZE KIMONO…..THE NEW GAUZE or WK SHRUGS, the NEW GAUZE DRAPED FRONT CARDIGAN, the matching LOTUS PRINT CARDIGAN…..and of course the BAMBOO/BLACK JACKET….I could go on and on with what you can wear it, but I guess it is pretty obvious. The length of the tank is approx.24 1/2 inches for the xs………..Also, in the photos above I have featured, the new this season, faux de Chine PLEATED SKIRT. The sunburst crepe pleated skirt from this passed fall, also looks terrific with all of the pieces above…………………………….scroll down for additional pictures……………………enjoy…..much Love……Louis

    Good morning, Louis,

These new pieces are just beautiful! I have a question about tying the lotus print cardigan in back as a wrap blouse. Will this be possible in all sizes? I know that with the drape front lace cardigan (the one that came in magenta, olive and black), it wasn’t possible to tie the sides in back in the larger sizes because the front pieces weren’t long enough to go around. Just want to make sure this will be possible with this new cardigan.

    Looking forward to your show!

    Jane

Dear Jane….I can’t guarantee that it will be possible with this cardigan either, since it really wasn’t originally designed to do that. I think you would have to compare the lengths. I believe I gave the longest length to the front point as 30 inches….but please check.

Love this new grouping! Question about trousers: I just ordered the stone herringbone trousers to coordinate with the shell from last year and the lace jackets that we all know and love. Is this new bamboo trouser similar in color ( ie: would it be redundant to have both this and the stone herringbone)? You have said that this fabric is more substantial; too much for hot humid Ohio summers?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear MAKP, the colors are very different. One can not be substituted for another. You would not wear the same clothes with the bamboo pant that you would wear with the stone herringbone. The bamboo pant isn ‘t heavy, just a different construction from the herringbone.

Louis, OMG, just when I think you can’t possibly top yourself—there you go and do it again and again and again—I am positively gobsmacked! For a girl who used to live in the heart of Paris—be still my heart on the new “Chanel” jacket. I have your original Black and Eggplant Chanel jackets (with the pearls galore) and the follow-on perfectly Pink jacket (with the pearls down the front)—and the matching skirts. Now that I am down to a size Medium, I will have them tailored to fit—I don’t care how much it costs, as I am not forsaking those jackets! Seriously!

Hope you and Jac are having a wonderful weekend…I’m off to make my list for the new items……

Oh, Louis….I’m blown away by this entire collection and the bamboo will be making its way to sweet home Alabama! One question…Will the black short sleeve cardi with the lace embroidery look good with the bamboo pants? Thank you so much for these lovely designs!

Was I dreaming, or wasn’t there a tobacco/black version of the lotus print–in a fishtail short skirt?

Also, in the photos here, is the knife pleated skirt shown the ivory or the bamboo?

I’m with Kate. Who could choose blush or bamboo?

I’m seriously in love with your whole spring collection!

Dear Carol….you were only half dreaming. What you remember was a black and tobacco paisley skirt shown with the caramel “tweed” tank due in June. The pleated skirt was bamboo. I put it with the print, because it is slightly different from the bamboo jacket. I tried to get the mills to match them to no avail.

    Hi Louis,

    These are absolutely gorgeous!

Question: What is the feel of the jacket and pants fabric? Does it have a soft hand or does the texture make it rough or scratchy?

Thanks! Can’t wait for the shows!

    Carol

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

It’s definitely not rough or scratchy…..it has a softer hand, but it’s not limp.

  7. Kate

I hope you have an opportunity to show this jacket paired with jeans and maybe heels or wedges. I know I plan to wear mine that way most of the time.

  8. Goldie76

Glory, hallelujah! My chance, finally, at one of those jackets of yours. I missed out on your earlier very Ch@nel-like jackets because I was unaware of your clothing line on QVC. Love this lotus print top, too.

  9. Kate

Well, you have this super simple for me. I will take one of each. Seriously. I will be buying one of each of the jacket, pant, and lotus print in each of the two colorways. Love it!
