“Transitioning to Fall”

HI Everyone…………..We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! I had HOT DOGS, a HAMBURGER and all the trimmings……as my father would say “a perfect 4th of July”……….Jac had a lovely salad!

Since it is too early for me to post the new July SNEAK PEEKS [the collages aren’t ready yet], I thought it would be a good idea to post some previous pictures of items that would TRANSITION into Fall, and items that there is still some inventory. A233191 is the Feather Jersey pant in the Walnut, Cherry and Olive. The Feather Jersey has garnered some devoted fans and as more and more women give it a try, the numbers are increasing…….Jac included. Her take away wardrobe to Anguilla was 85% Feather Jersey……….. This is a terrific pull-on pant with front draped pleats that cover what you want covered…. in a flattering way……..the pockets are an added bonus and work beautifully in this pant. I think this would be a good pant for my “apples”. Some have sized down one size, and f you are in the camp….that everything runs large, than that would be a good idea….however, these pants were meant to be fluid and have a drape, so I think they are perfect as is. Even though the leg is fluid, these are NOT Palazzo pantsThey work beautifully with all of the Whisper Knit sweater in all of the colors…..personally I love the LIME with the Olive or WALNUT,…..the AQUA and NECTARINE work well too…..and I love the  HOT PINK with the CHERRY. I also love the matching V-neck Feather Jersey tunic, A233190 with the matching pants for a column of color. I just saw, for the umteen time the “MARIGOLD HOTEL” movie with Dame Judy Dench, and many of the tunics she wore over pants were this length. It’s a very common proportion in India………….it’s all what the eye gets used to. I recall, not so long ago, when a woman would NEVER wear a top  that hung below her jacket….not it’s the “modern” way to dress………..it’s all what the eye gets used to………….Since all pf the DARK colors are sold out in the other Feather Jersey pant, I thought it wouls be a good idea to remind those who are interested….that there is ANOTHER PANT…………….ENJOY………much LOVE…………………Louis

And, I’ll add, I am a cat lover, and the pet fur doesn’t cling to FJ! It is a magical fabric. 🙂

    Hooray for feather jersey!

    Hi, Louis:
I ordered all three colors of this FJ pant and love them. I also have the other slightly different leg of the FJ in smoke and hemp. Love them too! They are perfect for the South 3 or even 4 seasons of the year. I also have the tanks and the WK that you show and it all works. They will travel to Italy with me in September with a variety of mix/match WK tops and shrugs/sweaters because they take so little room in a bag and wash well in the sink and dry by morning. Now, we just need the flight schedule to be on time and the mid-late September weather to cooperate and I will be in heaven. Thanks, Louis. Looking forward to your fall presentations. Regards to Jac. Blessings, Fran

Dear Waterbaby…..what a wonderful time to travel, especially to Italy, the crowds are basically gone, the kids are back in school and the weather is still glorious! The feather Jersey and Wk will be perfect! Did you get the FJ Russian print dress? That would be a perfect sightseeing outfit. It is still quite hot in Italy. Where are you going to visit?

I missed out on that dress 🙁 Eight days Rome, Florence and Tuscany. Wish we could stay for a month!

Sounds PERFECT to me…..if you are interested the dress is avail. again….only if you are interested, but I think it would be perfect for your trip. easy to pack, no wrinkles and easy to wash.

I forgot to say, I love the way you’ve combined the colors in this collage. Thank you!

I just received the A233967 in Navy, after stalking and waitlisting them. I love the fabric and the fit, and think there is more feather jersey in my future.

I thought you should know, the A233191 pants and the A233190 top don’t have ‘feather jersey’ in the item name, so if a feather jersey lover looks for more pieces, they won’t appear in the search results.

Unfortunately, the clothes were manufactured before the new labels

Dear Louis, Thanks for the response. Since these will be online-only, and they mix and match so well, it would be really helpful if we could see the group all together.

I’ll post a request to the web folks and see if they can make an adjustment so they’ll be included in a search.

    Hello Louis:

We celebrated with Reindeer dogs & Moose burgers the Alaskan way! And Moscow Mules in pretty Copper Mugs.

Looking forward to your July sneak peeks.

I, TOO, am a FJ fan.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

OK……I can figure out Reindeer dogs and Moose burgers …..but what the heck are Moscow Mules??? does it have something to do with Vodka?

      1. Pamela in Anchorage

Yes – 2parts vodka, 2parts ginger beer + 1part ‘fresh’ lime juice = Moscow Mule! Copper Mug is a MUST have.(Recommend Gosling or Jamaican D&G ginger beer)

We keep a set of mugs on the boat for our Dark ‘n Stormy(s) – same recipe using Mount Gay or Gosling’s Rum – This sailor’s Favorite Summertime libation!

Over ICE, of course! – So refreshing……Ahhh

Please forgive my incomplete recipe – Start by placing a single Mint leaf in bottom of mug, add 1/8 teaspoon superfine sugar & muddle gently. Add rest & top off with simple syrup to one’s own taste!

The whole thing sounds way to lethal for me…..I stick with Vodka on the rocks………..I’m not good with mixed things

  7. Chris/Jazzmom

I purchased the walnut and olive in these pants when they first became available and now have the berry awaiting shipment. Yes, they do work wonderfully and the pleating is done in such a way that it hides any flaws below the waist to hip region!! I do like the placement of the pockets as well. Due to my height, I did have them altered to fit my frame. I found these to be not clingy in this heatwave we are having and in extreme A/C you are not freezing in these pants either.

    1. Chris/Jazzmom

Forgot to mention, I did size down from my usual Medium in pants to Small size.(probably because of the fabric).

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Chris….I have to say. I am totally surprised how much Jac likes to wear these tops in the FJ…..she is not a poly lover, but this fabric is so light and airy she finds them as cool as her cotton knits, and because they glide over her, sometime they feel even cooler.

  8. Sheesh

Hi, Louis…I envy you the hot dogs and hamburger—I haven’t had a piece of bread in over 9 months—but I’m down from an XL to a Medium—so it’s been well worth the denial!

Does the Olive Animal Print v-neck top work with these Olive pants–same tones? I’m thinking a great transitional look for the early Fall.

    Enjoy your Sunday….

    Sheesh/Sheila

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sheesh………congradulations…..I know how hard it is to loose weight….I’m trying to knock off a few myself, but on the 4th I went whole HOG….literally…lol I think the Olives work well together….the pant is lighter in color but looks good with the palest olive in the print. Another alternative is the olive shantung skirt A234433…..or the olive jacket with black bottoms………just a suggestion to expand your wardrobe……not that it needs expanding…!!!
